Crafting Special Bags!!!

Hi all! I have an idea of crafting special bags for different staff!
For example: if I want to craft a bag that can hold only cherries and nothing else, then using (for example new skill of engineering II or tinkering VI) and simple bag, I can craft it.

We have bags for tools, why we can't have special bags for cherries, meat or Chunk of Sparklies and etc.

Right now I have many bags and its a mess there...same things can be in different bags, so It will be very useful to me to make this kind of bag :)

What do you think??? :D

  • Is that a bad idea? :(

  • I would grow this idea to:
mineral bags (raw ore of the three varieties)
    metal bags (metal ore)
    vegetable bags (crops)
    herb bags (herbs only)
tree product bags (any product from a tree goes here)
prepared foods (food you cook or is gifted to you goes here)
    prepared fruits (non-cherry)
    seed bags (herbs & veg)
    and finally
    cocktails.

Which looks startlingly like my own bag arrangement.

  • Expand it even farther :) Simply give a bag a checklist or entry field of all the items in the game. Then you input the ones you'd like to autosort to that bag location. Simple and clean.

  • I'm all for "smart bags" that would help me keep my inventory organized.

That said, it might sound simple to you but an interface that allows that kind of functionality can be very tough to design.  Even just thinking of how big a checklist of all of the items in the game would be takes the request out of "simple" territory.

  • I like this idea, but it easily could get out of hand since there so many things in the game, and things that go into making food, for instance, sometimes aren't food-related-items.

That said, a small list of bags would be nice for:
    * mining harvests (any rocks, plus gems and ingots)
    * plant harvests (anything from trees, herbs, or crops)
    * meals & drink bags (for anything made as a recipe from a kitchen tool)

If you had specialty bags for every-little-thing I think you'd create more confusion than it'd be worth, especially if bags remain un-sellable / un-donateable - hence my short list above

  • Problem - if these bags work like the rest of them (especially the element pouch), that cuts down on your main bag's space for 16-bags. Useful if you carry 4000 cherries, but outside of that... probably too specific. Even with the more broad bags mentioned, it'd be 4000 of cherries, allspice, planks, or bubbles - still a hefty number. I believe paper stacks less than 250.
Essentially, it would cut your total number of bags. Good thing, bad thing. Fairly balanced though.

  • Davnik: if someone chose to use it, then good on them. Thankfully no-one would be forced to use any of them.

  • I like ✦ SHI∇IΔΠ ✦'s  list a bit better. It'll be awesome if things would automatcially go there after you gather them. I'm not sure if things do that now.  Like how a knife and board can go either in a toolbox or any other bag spot. But if there's a spot in the toolbox, it'll try to fit in there first.

  • Main idea: craft bags for things, where things will go automatically there after you gather them. This "things" is your choice (could be meat, food, mining staff etc)
    Just simple idea.

We can expand amount of slots in bags while crafting them. (from 16 to 25 for example)
