Limit Cap on Shrine Donations for Day

Curious why this drastic measure had to be taken.  I'm not sure I see the true purpose of this limit.

I am very disappointed since one of my personal goals is to gain ranks in Cosma leader board.   Not to mention that you will only be able to decrease skill learning times by slight margins now. 

Sniff.... not at all excited...

  • I very much agree! Ive been competing for zille #1 the entire time ive been testing--- missed last test-- so until the reset i will be stuck in 2nd place forever! LOL. leaderboards for giants are fairly useless with a cap :( .... Though.. maybe  a decent idea would be to still give leaderboard credit on donations once favour is "used up" But not actually give us emblems, idk im talking outta my butt here LOL. just ideas :P

  • I actually heavily approve of daily limits. They need to control advancement while not super hampering it. Limits makes sense (especially since you could advance at an insane rate by donating a bunch of Crystalizers with Hallowed shrine).
    As to the leaderboards... well, they're just gonna get wiped so it wouldn't have been a very lasting claim to fame anyway.

  • shawn, its a 1000 limit--- BUT if you are CLOSE to 1000 on a new game day--- for example i only needed 69 points to reach 1000 havnt played since last test--- i only got 69 favour BEFORE my "cap was reached" Limites are fine--- but 1000 is wayyyyyyyyy low

  • Ouch. 1000xp or 1000 favor?

    I mean, if I donate 10 gnomes, what happens? Do I lose the gnomes AND not gain xp, or does it return the extras once the limit has been met?

  • 1000 favour, And yea, if you donate 10 gnomes then it will say "this is going over your daily limit, do you want to do this" ... though 1000 favour is.. nothing.. 13 gems with powder--- 5 rubys, ... veryyyy small LOL

  • @Lord Bocon-o  yes.. they will be wiped as with everything else... but will they not be there when the game restarts?  I don't know.. i can understand a cap on per donation... but not per shrine.

  • I did some testing. While your favor with a giant is capped, xp is NOT. I hit the cap and then donated another 10 gnomes (with ehsp) and still gained 14,400xp. Just FYI.

  • Doesn't this completely nuke learning acceleration?

    Learning was already capped and made you not contribute (unless you were hunting for xp or your nth emblem) to shrines until the skill in question finished. That limit could be for several real world days (if the game was active).

    This feels like a bad idea, especially since emblems are pretty darn useless.

  • it does nuke learning acceleration (or rather, changes it drastically).  i'm working on what was a 10 day skill (started least test) and can only whittle an hour or two off of it per shrine.  Now that there is a cap limit on shrines for the day, I'm just SOL when that hour or two has been worked off, and have to wait an entire game day to donate again to that shrine.

    getting the XP is still nice, although that seems inconsistent to me.

    it'd be helpful to tweak the time reduced part a little, since the time of skill and shrine limits were implemented.  maybe give us a little more time saved per 999 points.  at this point, it'd be more fun to just set a weeklong skill and then not long in for a week until i pick it up.  otherwise, it just seems like more grind now, less perks. 

    that said, i *do* understand  the need for caps and limits, I just wish the skill learning reduction from favor could be tweaked a little to our betterment.  just a percent or so up, maybe.

  • I can see the point of slowing down learning. I mean, I am only 7 or so skills away from being done. Being able to cut each one in half when it comes to learning time does seem a bit unbalanced to me. However, if it is going to take me longer to learn a new skill, I would like to see more quests for each skill. For example, maybe a system where after you complete the first skill quest, you get a new one that is a bit harder or takes a bit more effort to complete. Then after you finish that one you get an even harder one. This would keep a lot of people busy between new skills and could prompt more joined efforts. It would also give those of us who kind of dislike street projects some goals to work towards.

  • Well, with 11 shrines and 1k limit it allows for a lot in a game day still. Isn't 1k like an hour too? So 11hr real time reduction per game day isn't horrible.

  • It wouldn't be so bad if the limit applied to each giant as the message suggests but it doesn't. Giants where I haven't donated at all this test still say the same. Once your limit is up that's it and the next game day doesnt change it for me either. Only when the skill is finished have I been able to donate to any shrine to get favor for reduction in learning time for the next skill. I have a whole heap of shrine powder and gems gathering dust now. I wasn't looking for XP just a decent reduction in time, which now only works for the really short skills.

    The Shrine message reads: "This donation will exceed your maximum daily daily favor limit for {name of giant}  Do you still want to donate."
    When I have said yes out of frustration I get 40 favor points each time.

  • yeah, something's not right here - I donated 846 favor points to zille when I was told I'd reached my limit, and then wasn't able to donate to another shrine that I hadn't yet hit today.  fix please? :)

  • The limit won't be much of an issue if the server is going to stay up for a while. Then it's not as critical to get your skills set up or accelerated so you can have the longest skill on while the servers are down.

    With a long window open I can easily see the need for lower advancement caps, but since we've been having a day or two open with 5 ish closed in the last few tests, people like myself are a bit skittish.

    If the caps are 1000 favor total rather than per giant then that's far too low regardless of server up time.
