Icon Mechanics

I'm trying to figure out exactly how the icons work. Hopefully this will expand the info from Stoot's original post and clarify some misconceptions. I carry my icons with me, so I have no idea about the benefits of home-planted icons, but this is what I know:

+The rewards (mood, energy, xp) ARE tied to your level. At lower levels you may not receive much more reward than you would using an emblem. But at 30+ the gap widens. At 39, I rarely get less than 200 energy when I "revere" one icon (i.e. one icon nets me more than all the emblems combined).

+The cost to tithe is also tied to your level, and is not randomized. At level 39 it costs me 748 currants to tithe. That's with any icon, no matter how many times I tithe. It will cost me more to tithe when I hit 40.

+You can use the icon four times between tithes. I could be wrong on this one, but that has been my observation. Doesn't seem to matter what you use it for. Once you use it four times, you'll need to re-tithe. So you could reflect, ruminate, revere it on day one, and then revere it once more on day 2 before tithing again; or you could just ruminate it four days in a row before tithing.

I don't have a solid grasp of exactly how the reward amounts are figured. My best guess is that it is randomized between a certain percentage of your total (mood, energy, etc). For instance, when I revere Mab, I'll gain somewhere between 10% and 35% of my maximum energy. I've also heard rumors that the rewards diminish based on the amount of time since you last tithed, though I'm skeptical, because I occasionally receive higher energy boosts on a second revering. I've also heard that if you wait too long, the icon will peter out and you'll need to tithe again, whether or not you've used it four times. Can't confirm that either as it hasn't happened to me yet.

Finally, tithing gives you a little favor bonus. But considering that by the time you start to fill up on icons you're probably getting your favor by donating dozens of piglets or a gross of high class hoes all at once, the favor bonus of a tithe is negligible.

Anyway, any info you can add would be great!
