@Bashere: You said, "People would advance MUCH faster in this game if they had alternate accounts."
I'm wondering what your definition of "advance" is and what your objectives are for advancing. I know different people have different playing styles, and I'm just curious what yours is.
TS says - In Glitch, the journey matters far more than the destination. This game is not about just winning, leveling up, or amassing the most currants.
Using bots, mules, or other hacks to gain significant and unfair advantage in the game is not allowed.
Multiple accounts controlled by one person playing at the same time is not allowed.
I have one. She has no interaction* with my main other than being friends. I wanted her to help monitor a treasure hunt so that folks wouldn't be able to look at me and see where I was... thus spoiling part of the hunt. Other than that I log into my secondary when I just feel the need for a bit of craziness. She's a bit of a character, you see. She likes to fart blue bubbles and give them to people. HEY YOU! HERE'S A BUBBLE! I FARTED IT!
* full disclosure, my main did give my secondary a bit of a boost (a bag of leftover crop seeds from my move to the swamps with the rest of the bag going to a stack of bubbles and a few random things to put towards an emblem to spend for skill learning). Which was, apparently, against the TOS, though that was not the intent. I just log in so infrequently and wanted her to be able to get some skill (teleport, maybe? I forget) and to have a nice starter stash of bubbles :)
After reading this thread, I thought a lot about my secondary account. Even though she hadn't done much, I did in fact realize that I was in a bit of a gray area. Since Glitch is one of the few games I feel has really focused on community as a large aspect of the experience, I had to think long and hard about whether I really wanted to do something that a vocal number of my fellow Glitchens didn't agree with (and was toeing a line in the TOS). I like being PART of a community... not sitting on the outskirts of it because I pissed someone off.
My secondary account is no more. And I feel pretty good about it. I'll miss my herb slots in my firebog house, but hey - I don't underestimate TS' potential to let us upgrade garden slots in the future or something.
I can't actively play more than one character, so I have no alts. :3 Maybe if I hit the level cap I'll start a new one, but I don't think I'm in danger of that. XD
I made a second account to experiment some aspects of the locations badges that are currently not clear, but I ended up not using it because I simply don't have time. I certainly don't have the time to use it as a bot and to be honest, in this game I don't see the point.
I had created a mule account just a couple of days or two before the guidelines were published... Glitch is really my first real gaming experience so I didn't even know what a mule was! After reading the new guidelines I deleted that account.
But then someone posted newbie tips and their view on learning skills the best/fastest way, so I wanted to try that. So there's another me, but they don't interact with the, um, real me.
Zero here. No benefit to alternate accounts in this game (in my opinion) unless class based games with limited profession options. The only thing I do miss is herb and egg plant patches to go with my normal garden etc, but i can live with that...
Got one and only one .
I am not looking forward to beat the game , i enjoy it this way.
In the past i did what i could to be top rank but those days are gone and i play relaxed now a days.
Still the event made me run al little harder to try get all the badges but that was nice .
I did not make it but it was fun and more fun is that i got some to look forward to next time the event is on ;)
Still my total respect to others that love to beat the game.
In my view the beauty of freedom is that we all can play how we like :)
