Oh. My. Giants! The new sellers tab in info mode is fabulous!! It's even got a "visit their home street" button!!! I shouldn't be surprised by that, but I AM totally psyched by it.
Thanks TS!!!!!!
Also only 5 sellers shows up so you have to reclick the item's info then sellers tab again to see if there are other sellers.
So it does not mean that the lowest priced seller will be listed on the first try. I think this is good since it would give a chance for all sellers to get customers. But then customers would have to go through the list a few times to try to find the lowest priced one.
Woah, it doesn't show the lowest priced seller? That seems like a bad idea. I figured it'd be like the auctions, where it's clear what the order of prices is. At the very least, it should be clearer that the list is completely random, not just the cheapest.
Agreed. I automatically assumed that the sellers listed would be those who were selling the item for the lowest prices. TS - what's the reasoning behind this aspect of the feature?
I'm guessing this is to spread some of the customers around, but I do think it should be clarified somewhere that these aren't always the cheapest prices.
However its a separate listing and you have to go to towers instead of having it delivered to you, therefore it shouldn't all be one giant listing, that would really be just a huge Auction house. But i do find it odd that the lowest priced listing aren't the ones that come up first and instead its random, i can see the randomness aspect, but i really dont think it makes sense. Also we can still look at other API sites to get a larger listing, generally not that many listing are shown through the new i button tower search..
Kadi, re "At the very least, it should be clearer that the list is completely random, not just the cheapest"
It's not completely random though :)
The display shows a randomly-selected five of the eight lowest-priced sellers in the game. For very high volume items, because of the clustering of prices, the prices tend to be very close to one another (often there will be many tied as first-, second- or third-cheapest). For very low volume items, sometimes there are only five or fewer sellers (so all are shown).
The reasoning for this is to spread the buyers around a little and give sellers a chance even if they aren't online to be tweaking their prices constantly. We think it's a good idea, but this is the first iteration of the feature and we'll watch and tweak accordingly.
That's a really good thing to hear, stoot! Still makes me think I'll use third-party sites for most of my buying, but I can use the tab for a several things, at least! :D
Cady, if you press i while clicked inside the game, you'll go into Info Mode. Then press Tab to search for an item (only items listed in the Encyclopedia will show up though).
Hm I don't see a Find Seller tab on Cubimals either. I think it's because they can't be sold in Auctions and whatever coding for auction restriction happens to be tied into the Find Seller tab too.
