Farewell, Mr. Gnome

This is my first (and probably last) post. It's rather pointless, but I just wanted to bid my yard gnome adieu. He was a good gnome, a kind gnome. He never even complained about standing in the same spot for hours on end.

I hope he is off happily frolicking in the land of lost yard gnomes, where he blinks, skips, and whistles all the day long.

Now that I think of it, wouldn't it be neat if there was an actual street with all of our lost gnomes running around on it?

  • Hmmm... Make a group for it and when the group locations are finally here we can fill it with garden gnomes. How's that sound?

  • My gnome was having a torrid affair with a neighbour gnome. Gnome misses lover gnome.

  • I seriously think the devs should make a new street filled with all the lost gnomes. Like a 'Gnomeland' seem street of some description...

  • Lost Gnomes? Lost Glitchen here...was he not in your moving box?

  • @Dahlia I think those of us without the forethought to pick up our gnomes from outside the door of our old (not /home) house have lost our gnomes - they've gone to a better place, sniff ;)

  • Oh. Mine was in one of my moving boxes, that's why I asked...I guess a help ticket could be filed...also, I'd be willing to help anyone out with a new gnome, if they'd like!

  • I had two gnomes outside my old house. One of them was still there when we switched to new housing, I was in my house before it happened and when they game came back up I was outside my old house with my gnome. So picked him up.

I've not found the other one yet, I've still got a box to unpack so he might be in there..

  • My gnome is also gno more. It's probably for the best - he was a cheeky bugger.

  • In France, starting in 1996, the "Front de Liberation des Nains de Jardin" (Garden Gnome Liberation Front) is kidnapping garden gnomes and moving them in forest or along the freeways.

Maybe you have been a victim of the FLNJ?

  • Maybe he's off on a round the Ur voyage, like the lucky gnome in Amelie.

  • Lilu, did you finish unpacking and putting stuff away?  Mine were inside a moving box but kind of hard to see for all the stuff they were behind.  Maybe they are there somewhere?

  • I finished unpacking, surprisingly. He wasn't there, but I don't mind that he's off seeing the world :) It is a very interesting place after all. Next time I'll remember to pick up the stuff outside of my house though.

  • Maybe he's in front of your old home....? I saw a few still in front of homes and apartments after the reset.

  • My gnome from my old house (at Simpele Slip) is also MIA, but my temp /home gnome was safe & sound in a moving box.

After the switch I went back into the world & was in my old quarter, but my origignome wasn't there (at this point my moving boxes hadn't arrived, so I assumed he was in one of those) but he wasn't in the 1 box from that house..  I wonder where they all are!

    (gno more..heh!)

  • My gnome has also run off, gno longer to be found outside my old home and gnot found inside any of my moving boxes.  It was weird to see the old street with all the houses up for sale again, devoid of gnomes, with gnothing but a few notes and chickens blowing in the breeze.

...You don't suppose the chickens ate the gnomes, do you?

  • Tonight, people were talking in Global about doing a tour of some old home streets. You need a tp script to get into them now. I got into Broxhurst Green that way and there was somebody's gnome chilling outside the old homestead. I made a tp script to get back inside, if you left a gnome in there please send me ingame mail so I can give a script to you. I would have picked up the gnome to save for the person but I couldn't pick it up. So either that gnome is on strike or he is waiting for his owner to pick him up.

  • I filed a missing gnome report via the bugs/help function after returning to my old home street and him not being there either...with a full description - 'about yay tall, beard, pointy hat, kinda grumpy about being left behind'.  The devs sent out the special gnome search and recovery team, and I'm sure based on my excellent description managed to track my guy down...the prodigal gnome has returned home by kev the gnome hunter, after boozing and purpling it up in the darker parts of Ur (not sure if it was my gnome or kev who was boozing it up after this release)...you know...those 'secret places'...he swears amnesia from the incident, and forgot all his phrases too...he looks a bit tired, but is now standing post outside the new house mumbling about how he had much more fun roaming the Urth...claims he even met the Travelocity gnome, but I think he's just making that up...

  • " Maybe he's in front of your old home....? I saw a few still in front of homes and apartments after the reset. "

Excuse that post, didn't know we couldn't get back into them. I was in because I was there before the outage.

  • Gnomes aren't lost. While rescuing piggies in deserted quarters such as Estevan and Marrakesh, I came across a number of house gnomes. If you can still teleport into your old street, you can retrieve your lost gnome.

  • I actually spawned in front of my old house when I logged in the first time after the update. My gnome wasn't there. He made a run for it. I am certain of it. I'm sure he'll come find me, when he's done partying. Much to his surprise, he'll find that he has a new gnome friend waiting for him. Thank you for your help, everyone! :)

  • My gnome ran away a month before the housing reset.   I think that we can safely assume that "Fred" has established an underground railroad for the enslaved gnomes of UR and took the perfect opportunity to whisk some of them away during the Chaos of moving.

Please be advised that "Fred"  is armed with a trowel and shovel and should be considered dangerous to Glitchen.  He was last seen wearing a blue tunic, black rubber boots and a pointy red hat.  He had a full length beard without the mustache but may have shaved it to conceal his appearance and has a special forces tattoo on his right bicep.  It is sloppily done as he had it copied in prison while doing time for peeing on lawns.

If you see "Fred" please contact Zooo immediately, do not attempt to apprehend and do not let him near your gnomes.

    Thank you
