How do you make a test tube slot zero when trying to make a new compound?

I can't ever get it lower than "1". Each time I put in a zero it defaults back to one. The minus arrow does not work either. Thanks in advance for your help/assistance.

  • You mean like for no red/green/&c elements?  Just don't add anything that you want to use 0 of.

  • Then how do you get the next entry box to come up? Am I just being dense?

  • I'm not in-game & it's been a while since I did new elements - as I recall, don't you just drag the ones you want into the window?   So you drag/drop in blue, set the #, drag/drop in shiny, set the #, and then hit 'go'.   You're not being dense; it's not totally transparent, and it's the only tool that works this way.

  • It only comes up with a single box (for the red) element. You can't, or I can't, get the next box to come up without something in the previous box......maybe I am just missing something. Thanks for your assistance. I appreciate it muchly.

  • Click the red 'X' at the top right corner of the element icon to remove it from the experiment.
Or click the small back arrow at the top left of the experiment dialog to go back out to the main test tube dialog, from which you can start again.

(But what you're describing is not the way it works for me.  I click the test tube -> Experiment -> "Try to make something new" and I get a blank page that says "Drag elements from your pouch," to which I can, if I choose, drag just some of the elements.  It sounds like you're at a similar place but with the red pre-dragged..  You can also try just leaving the red there and adding more of the other elements.  I think you might still be able to discover all the compounds that way.)
