First box (of eight) that's some of the 100,000 jars of honey I had spilling out into the garden you can see peeking out of the. few. other items. farm8.staticflickr.com/7084...
lem.to/p/Z6JZ I couldn't find my snails. After moving all the icons, the bails, the machines and urth blocks, oh and all the heard keeping tools, I still had a metric fuckton of shizzle to sort through. YAY! found them now.
I like the icons surfing in the sea of stuff. This is after moving my machines, fuel cells, and some peat from my first box (nearly empty old house) out into the yard and before I discovered what insta-hatch was with three chickens! www.glitch.com/snaps/PHFCUU...
This was taken shortly after I opened my one indoor box. I immediately paniced and grabbed the only 2 SDBs we were allowed to start with. I had more than 400 Urth blocks which dominated the disaster and I wanted to pick up as many as I could so I might be able to find my Construction bag which contained all the boards, posts, beams, etc. that I had made in preparation for this day. That bag seemed hopelessly lost in this deluge. Among the debris were 10K+ planks, more than 200 Pumpkins, thousands of herbs (at least it seemed that way), more than 50 Bigger Bags and sundry small bags and thousands of other items (maybe). I had been smart enough to keep a bag of collectibles in inventory (including my Faded Heart) as well as all the Icons and machines parts and my youthened pigs and chicks. I had only one indoor box because I had "cleaned" house and moved everything into one room. Also, I had moved out of the old house previously.
I had 2 outdoor boxes which contained some animal eggs, animal sticks, piggie feeders and meat collectors.
In the end, I picked up every pumpkin twice, 1st off the floor and second into the SDB I made for them. Since I only had 2 SDBs, I set up a table and chair. The pumpkins stacked on the table which held them all (Thank You Giants!) and the chair held all of my 86 Pi Pies (Yippee!). www.glitch.com/snaps/PCRE2V...
I accidentally popped a box near the front door and it spilled half way across the garden, I mean, I like corn but I'm not in like with it. farm8.staticflickr.com/7221...
Boxes as far as the eye can see: lem.to/p/9SNL
Oh giants what a mess - and that's just one box: lem.to/p/wF1A
Playing Pick Up Sticks with 45,000 planks: lem.to/p/esVM
OK - I've picked up the 45,836 planks, maybe I start on the milk next: lem.to/p/I8zu
Damn - not a good box to open: lem.to/p/vqB8
It was a really eye-opening experience... I knew I had a problem with some items, but some of the others took me completely by surprise.
Oooooo, I thought mine was bad - but there are some box explosions here that must have made Ur shake beneath your foots. Not unlike moving IRL - "why do I have all this crap?"
I still marvel that I had so little lag that day. The thought of all those thousands of boxes being opened and spilling millions of items, I was horrified! The lag didn't really kick in for me until late the next day and over the weekend. The best relief I had was thinking of so many others who were going through the same thing - I laughed for hours as I picked up thousands of planks and hundreds of pumpkins.
You guys DO know that you can hang an SDB on the wall, pick up a box and then click "deposit" on the SDB, choose a type of item, and all of that item in the box will be transferred to the SDB.
