Is the gameplay requirement for private messaging intentional?

I haven't found any way, even with help from Live Help, to communicate privately with other players without spending many hours seriously playing the game. Is that intentional?

  • I think PM's out of game have been suggested in the suggestion forum and are planned to be implemented.

  • Can't you send mail for like....20c?
    It has a message section....

Or IMing, you just have to be on at the same time as them. If you're good enough friends to talk while not playing, add them to your email's messenger or something :)

  • Or you could set up a private group with just you and the other person; there'd be no need to be in game at all.

  • As soon as I go into the game to IM or send mail, my mood and energy start dropping, and if keep doing it without spending possibly dozens of hours to get past the survival threshold, I'll end up in hell. I can IM from hell, but only with people who are on line at the same time, which is a serious limitation for me because I'm in China. I have to stay out of hell to send mail. The last time I asked Live help for the least time-consuming way to keep up my energy and mood, and I ended up spending more time on wild goose chases than if I had just played the game normally, which looks to me like it's going to be dozens of hours.

As far as mood is concerned, I know I don't have to keep my mood up to stay out of hell, but I don't want to be in a bad mood when I send mail.
