12-sided die causing lag

I am convinced this 12-sided die is causing huge lag for me.  When I am just carrying it I can watch my mem (when watching it on 'qp') go way up to around 1200. If I put this sucker in my house, it will stay around 500-600.

The constant reloading of the game with this in my possession, I am not sure is worth it.

  • I only get the bad lag AFTER I roll the die. Just carrying it doesn't affect my speed. Guess I'm lucky with that one.

  • FWIW: The game was super laggy for me today, and I do not have a blue die.

  • I was super laggy also. But, although I do have the blue die, some friends who don't were also having problems.

  • i think we've established that excess people and chickens on a street causes lag in that area.

i cannot imagine that the increased load of "stuff" surrounding multiple players using a dynamic item in a space was not what caused such wide lag last night.

and the problem was only exacerbated in that people who had gotten them weren't quietly leaving them in their bags. the  novelty of it made them of course all want to play with them at once, which meant if you were on a street with these things, you had lag of maybe a minute when you were trying to do any action.

when in a dice-free area and after a reload, things moved just fine. on a dice street, though, no luck. no amount of reloading helped, and the local chat was entirely monopolized by "(name) rolled (thing)"

not fun for anyone doing anything but rolling dice.

  • I seem to get the lag after I roll, but I will pay closer attention next time I login to see if just carrying it without rolling causes lag as well. Ill report back here with my findings

  • It causes lag when others roll, too
