@Beanieo 12exp per mine

@Skwid That's exactly what I was saying. It was dry humour.
@beanieo Just FYI, like Taylor said, it is 12xp per mine but you'll have to remember to keep your mood up in order to get the full benefit.

ok thx

no one to talk to

(because there are always a few people who somehow don't need a job, someone tell me THAT secret!)
Actually, quite a few here will play the game for extended periods because they are bedridden with some severe illnesses...being in game, makes them feel like they are still interacting with the rest of the world even if they can't in RL. I'm sure they'd love to be out of that bed and working, but they can't, and this game gives them an outlet/diversion from their pain/issues/challenges.
Some are retirees who have put in their time at work, and this keeps them young at heart interacting with many different folks...also keeps them mentally agile since they get to figure things out. We have a rather substantial mature group of players.
Some others are jobless, and have quite a bit of extra time on their hands since there aren't a ton jobs to be found in this awesome economy of ours...yea...love the 'change' that we had...and others have home based jobs where they can be flexible with their schedules. Still others are students, and have a bit of a flexible schedule as well. And possibly a few are independently wealthy, and so, no, they don't need a job.
So please, don't assume that just because folks have some free time to play a game, that they aren't working or "don't need a job"...many have extenuating circumstances that are giving them that free time. Some cool, some not so fun.

+1 beachy

U forgot the stay at mums! :)
I play bc God only knows I need time out (&I only have one lil man!) lol
And what better way to spend my 'quiet time' then playing a great game like Glitch & getting to chat/meet with people from all areas of the world.... I dont really have strategy when it comes to playing.. Sometimes I cook, sometimes gardening, sometimes mining & sometimes aimlessly wondering, thats what I love about it I can literally just take my time and play relaxingly!
-
Visit every possible street you can.. lots of xp for that.
-
BumbleBeez...didn't really forget y'all...just figure being a stay at home mum IS a full time job...(((hugs)))...but yes, you do have flexible schedules too...good point!
-
i donate rocks to shrines...
earn badges...
and i have so much fun playing the game... almost everything you do here adds up in xp.. you never know when you will raise a level!!

Please don't assume that just because I said some people "don't need a job" that I was somehow insinuating that retired or disabled persons are somehow "bad" or to be looked down on. In fact, I'm rather offended that you thought I was that kind of person. Everybody plays the game in the way they want, I was simply pointing out that trying to be the "best" is not a feasible goal for all but one of us.
And also that I would much rather stay home and play Glitch, than go to work.

I use to see people like this as a blessing in my guild on FFXI. I had three of them altogether, and then by the end of it, I had two at the same time. It was really nice having two people who basically attended every event. It made scheduling things a lot easier. Not to mention, they were both fantastic players. Good times. Afaik, they both are still playing.
-
@ Napabeth: ty, dear one, and Oscar is just fine (whew).
@ Beanieo: As you can see, there are tons of ways to play the game. The main benefit of higher levels is having a larger energy sink (I think that's the term). I compete against myself: gonna buy me a house, learn to climb a ladder without falling on my ass, earn a badge for petting pigs, figure out how I can help at a project, learn to use Extremely Hallow Shrine Powder, make my own Earthquake drinks for mining, etc......and somehow the leveling just happens (I'm now at level 41). And now with new skills to learn (and soon to unlearn, oy vey!) the game just keeps getting better and better! Oh---I do like to compete at races, but have yet to win one without some kind person letting me win. Maybe one day......
-
Rachel2635, next time in-game, I can show you how to win. I rarely lose. But I have only gone against a few well-trained racers. I want to try high stakes races, but no one seems interested. Next test, that's going to be one of the things I try to instigate.
-
Sorry Skwid, didn't mean to upset or offend you. I just know a lot of folks forget there are folks here that DO have a lot of time to play, but they'd probably rather not have that kind of time to play because of the challenges in their lives. And yes, I too would rather be independently wealthy so I could play more rather than work too...
-
@Mr. Dawgg: Thanks for offering to coach me at races. My eye/hand coordination sucks! I think it's going to be a matter of practice, practice, practice. But I have fun trying:)
-
yes yes yes. Some learn faster than others. There are also some tricks, and computer speed matters a bit too, I imagine. Luckily, I don't have that problem.

Back to the original question... for the last 5-10 levels, all I've been doing is working on street projects (or prepping/recovering), which give fairly good XP boosts on phase and project completion. In fact, after reaching about level 20ish, most users will have enough skills to contribute to at least some phases somewhere, so I highly recommend that you do :)
-
huh @yukiaN
-
@Beanieo - Street projects is where all the new streets in Glitch come from. When the game goes live again I'll take you to one if you want.
-
I am sure there are exceptions but in my experience with this game, street projects are not so fun at level 11.

So I still haven't figured out what you give to the shrines lol ... I think we need a learner's quest for each one ... but that's ok I've slowed down my playing (well didn't get a chance to play much this go around) so that when it resets I won't be too upset hahaha ... (I know, I can't "be" upset because I know it's going to happen).

I LOVE projects.
Anyway, when you donate to shrines, the favor you earn is 1/3 of the amount of currants of the value of the item. For instance, a Walloping Diamond is 600 currants, so the favor you earn from it would be 200 favor. If you use Fairly Hallowed Shrine Powder, it doubles that and you would get 400 favor. Use Extremely Hallowed Shrine Poweder and yoru favor is tripled, so in this case it would be 600 favor.
I'm not entirely certain but I feel as though XP, though not the same ratio, is also somehow proportionate to the value of the donation. I'm not certain how much XP this is, though... or if I'm wrong and the XP is somewhat randomized.
-
So it doesn't matter what you give to which shrine? Because, as a new lowly player, it didn't seem to give me anything no matter what I threw in ... of course, I'm not mining, I'm planting/cooking, so maybe I'm throwing in the wrong things, and it's just not clear what I should be throwing in ...
-
Favor for an item/bunch of items = 10% value of item/bunch of items thrown in. So it doesn't matter what kind of item it is except for its value, in currants. As is dictated by the info boxes and game's encyclopedia.
-
ah lol
-
10%? I thought it was a third of the value? AKA 33.33 recurring %.
-
On favor: http://www.glitch-strategy.com/wiki/Favor
-
I'm not so certain the wiki is accurate... when I asked about favor as a newbie, someone told me 1/3, so I made sure to check when I donated to see if I wasn't being ripped off by the shrines, lmao. Whenever I donate most things (meaning, anything that will get me more than 1 favor point), it's usually been 1/3 of the value. At least, that's how it's been for me with gems. Hmmm... I wonder if we can get some staff clarification? Lol
-
It might be because you're using shrine powder? If you donate an item without any powders, it'll be a tenth of the item's value.
item+fairly hallowed shrine powder = 2 x .1 x Value
item+extremely hallowed shrine powder = 3 x .1 x Value
I'm certain the wiki is accurate in the case of favor :p I would have totally messed up my donating for quests last test if it weren't.
-
Nah, 'cause when I use shrine powder the favor is equal to the value of the gem in currants. I could swear a walloping diamond gets me 600 favor using EHSP. O___O
-
A walloping big diamond is worth 2000c (source)
So 2000x.1 = 200 (donation w/o powder)
200x3 = 600 (donation w/EHSP)
:P
ETA: Sale price of a diamond to a tool vendor would be 1600c, to most other vendors, 1400c.

yea lol
