I feed them twice a RL day and leave grain, but people take the grain mostly not 5 minutes after I (or somebody else) dropped it. No idea what people want with 5 or 10 grain when there are tons of chickens around.
If its crowded mostly people capture one and problem is solved. Otherwise I think one pig dies. But they all die if they have no food.I feed them because I make a lot of them for the community gardens and you can't have enough meat. ;)But nobody has to care about them, we can't tell people how to play.
Hand feed? Works for me when I pass through. They never resist a few carrots. I just wish it wasn't so difficult to weed through them. I usually miss one or two.
Have you seen evidence that the pigs are starving? When you try to nibble them, do they say they're out of meat? If no, they're fine. If yes, you can feed them one meat, pet them, and then they'll be happy again. I do that whenever I come across any pig that refuses to be nibbled. I would think that they would be even safer in the community gardens because people would feed them to get more seeds to plant.
In the "community gardens" model house large model there are piggies starving on the roof, yes they say "denied friend, all nibbled out". :( I hand-fed them until they were able to be nibbled but isn't there something we can do?
I know there's a feeder on the bottom floor but that doesn't help the piggies on the roof. >_<
You could always get a potion of animal youth, turn them into piglets, and relocate them (probably outside the model home since I don't think there's likely to be many people going in there to take care of them).
@Miso: since you are ingame, you can just go and check on that feeder in the model home- I did that yesterday and filled it up - there's also a note from the Sandbox member (who installed the feeder and planted all the crops on the roof ) asking players to help refill the feeder as well ^__~
When I see grain on the ground there I usually take it. I thought someone used a powder and didn't want it. I'll leave it be now that I know it's used for feeding pigs, sorry.
