Have We Lost Sight of What's Really Important?

ZEE HERBS!

Herbs (Munch ‘em):

  Gandlevery:
Munching on this will give you the Gandlevery Boost buff (an awakening energy boost). * +3 energy per 15 sec for 2 minutes.

Bruja says: “That’s +24 energy per flower. Suhweet.”

Hairball flower:
Munching on this will give you the Hairball Rally buff (faster walk speed with minor energy loss). *Rapid walk speed for about five minutes.

“Not as fast as the Hairball tincture, but lasts twice as long. Let’s say your walking through the Ancestral Lands and some sneaky glitch is waiting on every street you arrive on, running as fast as their Saffron Disco Pants will carry them, setting off all of the traps before you can even get one goodie. Carry a bunch of Hairball flowers in your bag, and ol’ Disco Stu will suddenly have better things to do then chase you around! Then all those drinks and vacuoles can yours, all yours.”

Purple:Munching on this will give you the Purple Junk buff (makes you feel... purple). * +1xp evry 12 sec. for 2 min. 8 sec.

“At first, you will not feel right. But trust me, its not forever. And try to remember that you are definitely not a banana. You’ll be richer for the experience, by +1XP every 12 sec for 2 min and 6 sec.”

Rookswort:Munching on this will give you the Steady as a Rook buff (no periodic mood loss).

“Easily angered? Try munching on a Rookswort to keep that good mood of yours from dipping back into red ‘roid rage territory. And before you hit the forums.”

Rubeweed:Munching on this will give you the Luck of the Rube buff (improved chance for drops).

”Extra bonuses may be yours after choking down some Rubeweed. Imagine the incalculable riches! Gems of all sorts raining upon you, big walloping diamonds overflowing from each and every one of your 12 bigger bags!*    *individual results may vary”

Silvertongue:
Munching on this will give you the Silverytongued Charmer buff (5% bonus on next quest or achievement).

“Some of those quests have been sitting in your QL for well over three weeks and you haven’t even looked at them since that annoying Rock fellow first threw it in your face right as you were about to make yourself some sammiches for lunch. Now’s your chance to get him back. Munch Silvertongue before you set out questing, and you will receive a 5% bonus when you finally manage to wipe that infuriating Peter Out Peat quest off of your log forever and ever.”

Yellow Crumb:
Munching on this will give you the Crumb of Knowledge buff (double learning speed for 1 minute).

“Spent all your favor points with the Giants and every minute waiting for that next skill to start seems eternal? Let the light of Yellow Crumb ease your study anxiety for an entire minute per munch. Now that’s currancy well spent!”

  • "Gems of all sorts raining upon you, big walloping diamonds overflowing from each and every one of your 12 bigger bags!*    *individual results may vary"

Rubeweed has been tested for gem aquisition properties and has shown no satistically significant increase in gem output. in fact when i tested it i ended up with FEWER gems than the control group.

"That’s +24 energy per flower. Suhweet.”

that is a crazy low energy output considering how much effort goes into the growing and the low volumes produced. compared to food based energy sources, it is terrible.

"Spent all your favor points with the Giants and every minute waiting for that next skill to start seems eternal? Let the light of Yellow Crumb ease your study anxiety for an entire minute per munch. Now that’s currancy well spent!”

yellow crumb does not stack with favor speed. also, to gain an hour speed boost you need to grow 60 yellow crumbs [super tough] and then sit at the computer monitoring the timer, munching once every 60 seconds. extremely inefficient. you could eat 60 over the course of a day of learning, of course, but your time would be spent much more efficiently by accruing favor or donate-able items to speed your next skill.

"Carry a bunch of Hairball flowers in your bag, and ol’ Disco Stu will suddenly have better things to do then chase you around! Then all those drinks and vacuoles can yours, all yours."

can be done much more inexpensively and with greater speed by activating spinach every time you enter a street. protip: the spinach activation menu shortcut is "c"

  • Gandlevery: All foods give you one energy per currant. Gandlevery has a value of 40c, for 24 energy. At this rate it'll be better to sell this herb to vendors (ignoring the recently skyrocketing price on auction) and buy food off auction. This herb was useless before the potions update.

Yellow Crumb: Donating this to the Primary giant's shrine will get you 66 seconds worth of favor, while munching it will only get you 60 seconds (non stackable).

Hairball: Candies will get you the same effect, for less (with the current prices). In addition you get a nice mood boost, and the buff stacks (there's a limit of 10 per day though)

Silvertongue: To break even with this herb you'll have to find get a reward which is worth more than 1000c, to get 50c back at 5%. Not many quest or achievement reward this much (admittedly the essence is even worse, giving you 20% at 227c, which would require 1135c worth of rewards to break even)

  • +1 Melting Sky.

Aside from tinctures and potions (and the associated quests), I think the only one I find of substantial worth is rookswort.

  • TBCH, alone, most of the herbs suck at what they give considering the time/effort needed to grow them. Auction FTW!

But do you get bonus on the experience and other rewards (non-currents) with munching this herb?

  • You get 20% on all the rewards for the achievement/quest

  • "can be done much more inexpensively and with greater speed by activating spinach every time you enter a street. "

I'm a fan of both. Spinach is a bit of a bugger because you have to do it on every level, also the superjump thing makes it tricky for getting quoins

  • @Mara Yes, you do get a 5% bonus on all rewards, which is why I said 'worth'. Of course how much things like xp and favor is worth is subjective.

@shexycorin You don't have to jump. Activating spinach gives you a speed bonus that also applies when you're on the ground.

  • I think what shexycorin means is that if you activate it on a street for speed and then jump in pursuit of those luscious Ancestral quoins, you may overshoot by a lot.
