An unique playerbase needs unique mechanisms to support it

I'm not a hardcore gamer by any stretch but i have played a handful of mmos with this being the only one to have such a fervent subset of players who try to enhance the game by creating their own events and mini games. Such altruist and community building spirit should be nurtured and encouraged by in-game mechanisms.

Imagine, instead of having to spam global chat and drop notes everywhere the hostees/coordinators could simply go a building, post their event, a small blurb about it with an option to include links, indicate if they'll be prizes and/or cover charges (hey you could potentially make a Glitch living off of this :) select the time or duration and invite participants.

Imagine, if players looking for something differing from mining, cooking, gardening, working towards badges or achievements could roll up into said building, browse through upcoming events, choose one that suits their fancy and have an email and an in-game message reminding them when the event's sttart and/or end, if it's something like a scavenger's hunt, draws near.

Imagine, if from time to time Rube-like creatures crashed these events to hand out goodies, including ones not gainable from anywhere else?

This is just one example of how Glitch could transform into not just a place for Tiny Speck's creations but a place for our creations. TS already shows willingness to invite us into the creative process by allowing a way to enhance Glitch through it's API, this would continue that spirit ingame.

Glitch claims to be of giant imagination, let it support our imagination.
