Which one does it buy?

If one is has, say, a broken Tinkertool.

And there are  two in the bag, one of which is NOT broken.

And one is attempting to sell the broken one back to a vendor.

How does the vendor know which one to buy?

Thus far, I've been putting dupes on the ground if I want to make sure I don't sell them, but I'd hate for someone *coughcoughdondrapercoughcough* to think they were up for grabs before I could retrieve them.

  • Your best option is to drag and click. If you drag the one you want to sell into the little box, that's the one it will take.

  • Oh, good.  There wasn't any indication of that in the vendor window, so I wasn't sure.

What a quick reply -- thank you!

  • Er, why don't you repair the broken tinkertool with the good one?  Also if you still want to sell it, then you get a better price selling a fixed one vice a broken one...  (you can repair it by dragging it to the good one - easiest if they are in the same bag).

  • I thought you got the same price whether it's broken or fixed? I used to drop the good one too :)

  • Also, if you sell many of something, I think it takes the leftmost ones in your bag (after the one you dragged over).  This has only been relevant for me with firefly jars.

  • @Momo - I saw a broken one on a street in the caverns with no one around to return it to...picked it up, tried to sell it to a tool vendor, and I think he offered me only 150 for it.  I then thought...wonder what I get if I repair it?...repaired it, and offered it to the same tool vendor and he offered me 400 for it fixed. Tool vendors give 80% of value, where most other vendors give 70% of value, so the other vendors should offer 350 for a repaired one.  This was a while ago, so they may have made some adjustments since I did this.
