Ballots & Voting

We just opened the first ballot ("Which Two Animals Should Get Added to Glitch Next?") So, subscribers: you can finally spend one of those votes that have been storing up (or two of them … or thirty).

We anticipate holding these kind of referendums about once a month, but that's subject to change as we see what happens.

  • Alpaca's got the most votes so far :)))
My choice: Alpaca's and Kangaroos, don't want a fox running around my chickens o o .....
Many thanks for all the nice stuff we get to play with. A new boost is what the game needed, nice timing guys :))))
Big huggies for all of you!!!

  • I think it should be made much clearer at the voting page, that votes you cast are lost.

"You can spend as many votes as you want on any item in any ballot (up to your total number of votes remaining)."

That sentence could easily understood as: "You can use or your votes, if you want to. At the next voting, you will still have the same number of votes."

To avoid tears and misunderstandings, I'd suggest a sentence which clearly states that votes onces cast are gone for good (until you get new ones).

  • it's quite interesting to note that the Alpaca and the Fox (the two first choices on the ballot) are garnering the majority votes =))

Louis Louisson  -  that doesn't fit in with any notion of "spend" that I know of

  • @Dave Aflaris good point.  I suggest that the choices be randomized when presented for a vote.

@Louis Louisson not sure how you can read "spend" any other way...

  • I thought I was getting a completely new set of votes each time there's a ballot - can I have another go at voting, please?

I wouldn't have used all my votes in this ballot if I'd known (got into voting from my Home page)

  • I think the open question is how do votes recharge? If at all.
Posted 9 months ago by CrashTestPilot Subscriber! | Permalink
  • Votes are part of a subscription stipend. The mid-level subscription gives you one vote a month. The Molybdenum level gives you 5 a month.

From the "Votes" tab in your account page:
Votes allow you to to vote on which features or content will be added to Glitch next. Votes are only available to subscribers and unspent votes "roll over" or continue to accrue until used in a ballot
Posted 9 months ago by Squiggle-Squee Subscriber! | Permalink
  • Can I please request that the "view results" page show the standing of the different canidates in at least percentages, if not actual votes cast? Or can we have grid lines?

I would be nice to know which of the close front runners is actually in the lead.

    Thanks!

  • Although it sounds weird if you do know, I can totally understand how someone who didn't realize that votes were part of the subscription stipend might think that all their votes were specifically for this one ballot.

You see that there's a ballot, you click on it, the ballot says "here's an issue to vote on, you have 21 (or however many) votes remaining" and you think "cool... I've got 21 votes... I'll split them across my favourite 3 animals" not realizing that these 21 votes have accumulated gradually over the last couple of months and probably shouldn't all be splurged on this one issue.

(Current leaders: Alpaca 100%, Fox 97.5, Sloth 93). Go Team Sloth

ETA: Team Stoat? There wasn't even a Stoat on the ballot
