Vacation Pig Feeding.

So I'm going to be away for 3 days or so to go on vacation with my family, so for the most part my piggies are going to be on their own.

Anyways, I have 12 pigs and I'm wondering how many feeders do I need to sustain that many for 3 days?

  • I have 4 pigs and they were able to make it through a 3-day power outage with 2 feeders, so I would guess 6 at a minimum.

  • I think pigs can eat from the floor too? Drop lots of food in case.

  • yes, drop food will work. i have 9 pigs, 4 feeders. they run out of food in about 2 "real days". that being said. i would be happy to visit your place and care for your livestock. i might even leave u something for the holidays :) send me a key and i'll make it happen, or im me in the game and we can chat :

  • Thanks for the offer tiptronic but I think I can handle it.
Going by what you guys have said I think putting 6 or so feeders should be fine enough. And even if it isn't I don't think they will starve enough to die before I get back.

  • Have you thought about trying a potion of animal youth? If it works, your pigs will become piglets and you won't neew to worry about feeding them. Once you get back you can feed them back to their piggy selves. Safer than sharing a key.

Full disclosure - I've never done it, so YMMV

  • lol I don't actually have any potions of animal youth, but that does sound like a very interesting alternative.

  • Bah, just collect the meat & the corn seed when you get back and hatch more piggies.  :D

  • You can also leave extra grain etc. lying on the ground and they will eat that too!
