Epic Quests!

I'd like to see some really epic quests implemented in to the game, perhaps for those glitches who have completed all their skills. These quests would require your glitch to know multiple skills and perhaps use them together. They could also involve collecting/making/growing lots of items, or visiting certain areas etc. I guess i'm just hankering after more involved quests....ones that might take weeks or even months! In the early levels you have quests stacked up from levelling up and learning skills quite quickly, however as you get to higher levels and the skills take considerably longer to learn you spend ages learning a skill just to get one quest that might only take an hour or even just a few minutes to complete.......and then i feel kind of lost. i like to feel as if i have a purpose, or something to work towards, even if it's something totally meaningless like gathering items.

  • I like the idea of long quests too. Maybe chained quests. Kind of like an adventure game, where I have to find things and give things to NPCs and build stuff and so forth... maybe time limits on certain ones.

  • Good idea. But I just want to be called a "Flour girl" after making 4000 or more flours. :(

  • I suggest some way that a Glitchizen will be able to choose a quest among a series of quest choices. Probably obtained through a shrine, or an NPC. Definitely not given through the rock, as that would make the "epic" quest feel like the usual quest. Majority of the quests in Glitch have a tutorial-like feel to them, so a quest that doesn't feel like it's teaching you the basics, but rather a quest that requires you to be creative with all your learned skills would be really really great.

  • +1000 to this! I want more story, more goals to work towards, more immersion in the world of the game. I'm usually super shy and like to play on my own, but doing the Peter out Peat quest has actually been really fun, so (with proper guidance on how to find people to participate once global chat is gone) cooperative elements to these epic quests would be very welcome!

I am, quite frankly, bored now. I have my routine, I'm saving up for a house, but I have a quest to do about once every 3 or 4 days that the game is open, and I want more! This world would be phenomenal for story-like quests as it's already so rich in content and backstory.

  • I think it'd be a great idea to add more long and difficult quests!

Maybe even more side quests with stories! Have some NPCs give side quests!  That would add a lot to the game!

  • I'd like a detective quest where you must go talk to a certain Bubble Tree in Groddle Heights (with enough clues from your Rock to finding it that you aren't going to get lost for too long) and placate it's paranoia with gifts or kinds words so it gives you the low down on who stole Mab's Magic Mangosteen or something, which then sends you off to find something hidden somewhere else, or a rock to speak to, or a hidden door in the Illmenskie Caverns.  In essence, rather than random objects talking to you, a chained story quest with small rewards along the way, leading up to a big one at the end when you finally find the Magic Mangosteen and donate it to the shrine of Mab for a big reward.

  • +1000 for this idea, 'cause I also like the feeling of having a purpose in-game. I'd love if they were long and required for a bunch of skills and interaction with, not only NPCs, but other players - I'm crazy about group quests :D

I think, as you donate, giants could from time to time assign you some of these "epic" quests - as a sign of trust after all the worship :D It would be another way to estimulate donation, other than learning speed.

  • This is exactly the problem. Without quests, I might as well cook in my real life kitchen. Maybe look to Runescape for why they have been successful? We will always need more and more to do.
