I dont eat fries often. very rare I prefer real chips. fries may aswell be made from paper notes. rice is probably the most eaten food considering 3rd world countries or those who live without modern mechants would not be eating fries. in certain states of america it probably is the most eaten.
Anyway back to the main point. I agree that the game needs more variety of foods not sure what but fries could definatly be in that as some kind of small energy boost snack. it could give like a *salt buzz* or *salt rush* Buff for a few seconds or mins
Salt can be dehydrating and drain someone of energy. However, fries are fatty and also carbo-load so they are likely to provide a brief boost of energy, though that rapidly goes away and they eventually make a person slow down. So maybe a brief boost with a consequence (much like a beer buzz in the game lowers energy while improving mood).
When Prometheus stole fire from Zeus, he also snatched the recipe for fried potatoes, which until then had only been eaten by the gods. The original fried potato recipe was an entire potato, oil, and a thunderbolt, but Personkind used his/her ingenuity (and the stolen fire) to adapt the shape and seasonings, creating the chip, the oblong fry, the waffle fry and eventually the cheese fry and chili-cheese fry...um, something about poutine here, too...In this manner, western civilization flourished.
OMG - had never heard of poutine so googled it. That is disgusting - anyone who puts gravy on chips should have their tastebuds surgically removed!!!!!
Sorry - just a personal taste, my husband would love it! Can't bear anything except mayo with fries or chips (well, maybe some cheese!) No offense to those who love it! :-)
Re: poutine
I can deal with the gravy (try it sometime, it's good)... it's the cheese curds that I can't grok. *THAT* is what keeps me from ever trying poutine. But french fries dipped in gravy? Yum. And I can do french fries dipped in macaroni and cheese, or with nacho cheese on it...
OH! Nacho Fries! We totally need nacho fries in the game (do we have nachos to start with? If not, then we need those too)
Poutine! Never heard of it before.... but... as I was reading this thread (seriously... I kid you not) the cooking channel pops up with a recipe for Poutine!! I totally want to try these!!
