Is there a way to get Glitch running on a PlayBook?

Hi,

I can't seem to find a way to get Glitch running on my BlackBerry PlayBook. The PlayBook can run Flash, and has version 11.1. Has anyone gotten it running? It also seems to load a mobile version of the website, even though it can run the full desktop version.

  • Tablets are commonly considered to be mobile/handheld devices within the web development community. I suspect that's why you're being served the mobile version of this site (as is my own tablet), which doesn't include a link to the game. The URL for the game is glitch.com/game but the last time I tried on my own tablet (Samsung GT P1010) all I got was the loading sequence.

There is apparently a workaround for iPad/iPhone users (http://www.glitch.com/forum/general/16317/) but it sounds as though the user experience is trickier with a touchscreen or smaller-than-probably-designed-for viewport.

  • When i got to the game link you linked to, all I get is the letter t in the top left corner and then after a second it disappears, then there is nothing but a blank page. It's like it doesn't even run the flash for some reason. Any other flash game loads on it. I just don't see why it doesn't work, as IIRC the PlayBook is 100% flash compatible. It also supports HTML 5 along side 4, so its not having any rendering issue.

  • Would you consider using an app like splashtop? I was able to play on my Acer A100 and my iPod touch using it. Also the puffin app worked but was not very stable.
