what SHOULD you be doing instead of playing Glitch?

In the past two weeks, I have left late for work at my NEW job 5 times (I even rush home at lunch to play for 20 minutes!).  I should be studying for my paralegal exam; I should be buying car insurance; I should be at my grandmother's birthday party; I should be cleaning my oven --- So, right NOW, what should YOU be doing, if you weren't obsessively playing Glitch... for hours... and hours... and hours...? uh, what was I saying?

  • Sleeping ... I just came home from work ... or cleaning, or anything that's not fun.

  • Hehe, I wish I could say the same, Jono.

Uhhm... There are a few moments each day at work where I ought to be working, not checking a few tiny things in Glitch. Then there are some household things I ought not put off as long as I do when Glitch is around (mostly because I know I don't get much time to Glitch- it shall probably change some when the game goes 24/7).

But then tonight I went to a volunteer meeting for a local Oktoberfest that's coming up, and tomorrow night I'm going to probably go see a friend of a friend playing nearby. So I won't really have gotten much Glitch time (unless I pull an all nighter Friday night!) this test.

Right this moment I ought to be laying down and going to sleep, but the volunteer meeting/work lasted longer than expected and it always takes me at least an hour to wind down before I can sleep.

  • I should be mucking stalls. Pulling weeds. Plowing the south 40 but Glitch takes over. I cannot resist. When it is on, everything else is forgotten.

  • Annotating recordings of Super Mario Bros 3, playing Super Mario Strikers: Charged! (does anyone find that game fun?!), writing my qualifying paper (instead of comprehensive exams), catching up on posts for 3 blogs, updating my personal website, writing journal articles/conference papers, drawing thank you cards, running errands, doing chores, getting dressed...

    =)

  • I can hear my dishes calling...hang on...let me close the kitchen door...
..and my vacume cleaner is still sitting in the middle of the living room floor, where I put it 2 days ago,in the hopes that tripping over it would entice me to use it....

  • Not pulling all-nighters at the very beginning of a new semester just in order to get in maximum game time during tests.

The on-again, off-again nature that is testing is really my undoing. When I know that the game will go offline in X number of hours and I literally WILL NOT be able to play, it's so easy to rationalize just... Continuing for however many more hours, or until the world ends, or whatever it ends up being. I can do my copious amounts of college reading that are already piling up during the off-times.

Like now. Now I should probably be reading The Commerce of Everyday Life.

    ...I'm not.

  • Hahaha same here Haiku I need to be doing organic chemistry problems...it can be really bad especially around finals time >.<

  • It would appear that I have nothing I need to do outside of glitch as since this test closed over two hours I have sat thinking to myself "what did I ever do before Glitch" :) Roll on the next test .... fast!

  • @Gabi Oh god, I cannot even imagine juggling organic chem and my possibly-unhealthy Glitch addiction. I'm an English major; I am not cut out for that sort of science. I'll stick to my hefty readings.

Which will still kick my butt pretty well.

  • Housecleaning...there is a layer of dust that I can write my name in...oh, yes those blasted dishes are calling my name too...sadly no door to close in my 'open floorplan'...bills to pay...thank goodness most of them are on autopay or I'd be homeless by now...my only current concern is being without water...going to the beach...well, that is a negative since I do love the beach...but no wifi out there & too hard to see the screen in the bright sunlight...oh wait, all of that probably should be considered negative...

Look forward to 24/7 when I can schedule this in... ;)  But then again, it doesn't mean that the housecleaning will be done, the bills will be paid on time, or that I'll actually get back to the beach which is only 30 minutes away...lol
