Projects in other Glitchen's yards!

I entered another no-no user's yard (looking for that last sniff of delight) and encountered a rather sorry looking firefly swarm.  I clicked on it and it popped up that it  was 20% and did I want to help with the project?  I added 4 loam (the required final amount to complete the project) and the firefly swarm buzzed...or lit....back into a thriving community!  Love the fact that we can help our neighbour's revive their front yards!

  • I like this feature too. I think it's pretty cool to be able to help someone like this.

  • wish the trees did this too but when i added the beans a bean tree wanted it just went to an empty patch instead of a healthy bean tree :(

  • Sounds like a bug with the bean tree thing?

  • It's not a bug, I hope that they'll just turn it into a sick tree instead of just a patch.

  • Nice feature if people have things placed where they want them to be able to help them out.

Kind of a bummer, if the person was trying to run the item down to be able to replace or move it though (especially if they aren't in to the death thing to get the wine to kill off the item).  Guess they could leave a note to let something wear out, and hope that grievers don't come to their street and then help it just to be ornery.

  • Agreed, b3achy!  I'm hoping that back yards will be more expandable than they are now, so I won't have to use the too-public front yard.

  • I don't know how you got grievers into this post b3achy omg.  This was a positive post lol  I have an idea that helping out in these projects may increase our imagination in game - at least I hope it will! We will have to be building it somehow.

I've spent a lot of time walking the home streets today collecting various consumables and have crossed many players doing the same thing so these items will be depleted fairly quickly.  It was a lot of fun and nice surprise to see I could help revive the swarm.

Also I wined a couple of items out in the backyard earlier and it left behind bean, earth, loam and guano! Another cool extra from TS : )

  • Puzzles, games and quests that give imagination are on the drawing board, so far as my memory serves!

Let's hope they make it into the game with the advent of imagination or at least not too much after ;)

  • OMG Arabesque!  Read the first line to my post...I said it was basically a nice idea, if people have their yards set up exactly how they want them right now...

My point with the rest was, that some might want their resources to run down so they can move things around.  But since people aren't going to be on their own streets 24/7 to tell people that come on their streets, "please don't help that resource, I'm trying to let it run down so I can remove it"...if they leave a note behind, one can only hope that people will read that note and be nice and let it run down/wear out.  However, since there are plenty of grievers in the game, I'm sure those people would love to 'help that resource' just to be contrary to the person that might want it to wear out.

While on the one hand helping the resource is a nice idea, it's only nice if the owner of the resource wants to leave those things as they are.  Some people don't play all aspects of the game, and aren't going to get WoD to be able to kill things quickly to get rid of them.  Since WoD and letting things wear out right now are the only way to move things around on your street, some players are going to have let those things wear out if they don't have WoD. "Helping" in those cases, isn't really helping...hopefully, everyone you help wants that, else they are going to be wondering why their stuff isn't wearing down, and why they are stuck with resources where maybe they don't really want them yet.  Of course, thank goodness, there is always the reset to take care of the placement issue too...

  • omg B3achy, I love the bold..makes the point all the more stronger! lmfao.......Yes I read your first line, and all of the rest that followed.

Looking for the negative before it occurs is a waste of time at the moment for the pure reason that when the game does go live no one knows exactly what is going to happen with regards to where, when or even how we will be able to shift/delete or move the items we've placed in our yards.  It could be we can delete anything we like at the cost of imagination (or not), the point is at this precise moment nobody knows except the developers.

The notes sound like a good idea in principal but would as effective as those left out for feeders and collectors.  They really worked well too (that is sarcasm).  So at the moment with the gamestyle as it is out front is an open access to all which apparently was the developers goal and the rear is purely for our hoarding glitchenselves (just created a new word :O )

Wine of the dead is so easy to grab too - if anyone out there is stuck, hit me up in game and I'll take you on the hell bar tour.  Picked up another 24 bottles at lunchtime!

  • OMG, why is it when someone voices anything different, it has to be negative. I really don't see what is wrong with B3achy's post. How is a discussion a waste of time? Just because you don't want to hear the down side of something doesn't make it any less valid. Hearing both sides helps brainstorm of ways of making something better. If you only focus on the positives and forget about the negatives there will be more and more posts with "OMG someone did X in my yard! Oh noes!"

    - It's cool to be able to help out on other's street
    - But, It sucks if the person  you helped actually wanted it to deplete.
    - Yes, WoD is fairly easy to get, everyone doesn't *have* to use it. It's an option (either use or or let the resource deplete on its own)

  • omg...sorry but all I can say now is meh... it doesn't have to be negative.  The fact is it was negative.  I didn't say a discussion was a waste of time.  I said dwelling on the negative was (and something which hasn't actually happened as yet by the ever impending griefers that are going to ruin everyone's plans for depleting their own front yard items LOLOL) - so yes, I stand by my point that the negative train of thought was a waste of time for something that as yet isn't a problem.  Unless of course we've not gotten wise to the fact that bitching about griefers doesn't actually change a hell of lot and more folk seem to be complaining about the griefer bitching than the actual griefers themselves :)

Edit: to say I've just reread the whole thing and though I still stand by my point to a degree I did come across as a bit heavy...the negative side of one of my moods...apologies to those I riled.
