Poll: to anyone who has fought the rook, do you find the awards for vanquishing him to be worth the items donated?
Suppose that there was no rook attack and you donated the same items to the shrine that you would have used on the rook. Would you expect the iMG award to be higher or lower?
I used to do tons of rook attacks though haven't lately. I'd agree that the iMG gained from fighting the Rook is minimal and donating would get you more iMG. Unless there's been a recent substantial change.
However, Rook attacks aren't about earning iMG. I mean...how many big social things are there in game?
I'm agreed with you both, rook attacks are certainly among the most enjoyable things in the game (at least for me). However, I tend to donate a lot of valuables and I've been wondering whether I should be more conservative with what I toss in the shrine. I've used expensive powders, gems, and sometimes important tools to fend off the rook, and I'm thinking perhaps I should just stick to music blocks and meats.
I agree with Xombiekitty! Ive fought him alot... and i havnt seen that Big of rewards. But to alot of people, The rook should be stopped at no costs, so i really dont care! Ive donated so much stuff to fight it, with so little in return. The thing is, thats basicially what volunteering is, and i do alot of that in RL
I think (think) it was Rook(player) who 1 hit the rook with some nuts amount of grain. 80 bushels or something just @.@. So to defeat the rook it is about how much value things have.
If you donate lesser valued items it will take more donations and likely more donators.
Considering how fast attacks are over these days not for the sake of saving your own iMG but for the sake of having the fun last a lil longer lower value items would be good. Though you would also gain more iMG through non-rook donations. If for no other reason than you'd use EHSP.
I agree with the others: Defeating the Rook is not about earning IMG, it is about defeating the Rook. Plus I tend to toss in things that are somewhat valuable that I wouldn't otherwise donate (why donate amber/ruby when you can donate diamonds with EHSP?)
One time I accidentally donated 155 fruit tree beans in a rook attack and I think that drove them off, and I also got like 15k img, so that was p. cool.
Having fought the rookmore times than ive had abath (at least seven) its an amazing experience and one that i miss. when Aranna was part of the unimagined territory we seemed tohave alotmore andpeople gotgenerallyexcited about it. Now, its a bit "Meh" to me. When one occurs so many peope tutn up that it becomes a lag fest. I still love Glitch but to be honest the increasing lack of gameplay means i now use it for social networking with jumping
My experience with Rook attacks consisted of me showing up, standing there like a moron, drinking a tincture and getting a badge... like my day-to-day life except with badges. A truly worthwhile experience.
