Maintenance Bot 42-x/g

I am extraordinarily busy this year,  my house is a mess, my pauvre piggies keep expiring in a heap of assorted chops.  My trees are either dead or in desperate need of Prune Juice (which keeps them looking healthy and and well-pruned of course.)

What I propose is that we have the ability to Buy, Create, Imaginate, Currantize a new assistant.

Maintenance Bot 42-x/g

Bot 42 x/g would be loadable with appropriate fuel (Hooch perchance) and would tend your piggies and trees for you.  I realise that I could buy 40 feeders and I may need to do so, but that won't keep my trees alive.

Maybe for a little extra "whippedy-whoop" we could upgrade Maintenance Bot 42-x/g to <drumroll>

Maintenance Bot 42-x/gd with the Dance King module for good time gardening dance fun?

Remember a vote for Maintenance Bot 42 dash x stroke g is a vote to keep my trees alive!

  • It's a cool idea, but it will never happen.

  • Never's a very long time.
    I like this idea.

  • Great idea! Maybe we need robot-building skills (this has come up before). Since TS would want to encourage us to play, though, and since this could be co-opted as a way to never be in-game, perhaps the robot could be a rental for a set amount of time. Heck--I'd go for a model that ONLY danced...but then I might never leave my house...

  • Well, the robot runs on fuel, so it would only work for a limited amount of time, and then you'd have to do some work to get it running again.

Also, you could have clockwork robots.  These would run for a very short amount of time and do just one task, probably something silly.  Winding them up would cost energy and mood.

Uses for the clockwork robots might include:

    - Dancing
    - Stomping menacingly across the screen.
    - Operating a tool: grinder, smelter, blockmaker, fuelmaker, hoe, irrigator 9000, pick, etc.  (these would cost quite a bit of energy to use, more than traditionally operating the tools, because you'd then have the benefit of doing two or more things at once)

  • I like this idea - load him with a fuel cell, and he helps out with chores.

The Basic Robohelper could be a Farmer, Butler, Maid, Chef... all with different parts required for building, and all wearing different outfits.

Building of your personal Robobutler, et cetera, would need a new skill branch, Robotics (off the Tinkering tree), along with appropriately associated skills like RHK and MC.

  • If we want to keep robots from getting out of hand, they could be made such that if there are two or more of them on the same street, they drop what they are doing and dance with each other until out of energy.

  • The good news about this idea is it would create more of a demand for fuel cells.

Brace yourselves, Jellisacs!  We're coming for you.

  • Oh, oh!  And like other tools, they wear out, too.  Imagine, you've just filled the little guy up and let him go, forgetting the maintenance.  Halfway through his jig, he just falls to pieces!
