'Max' buying

I thought about this often: when buying from a vendor I sometimes accidentally click 'max' and from zeeberk's beer thread on the main forum I gather I am not the only one who has done this. Sometimes I want to buy 80 potatoes, because there are 80 in a slot. That means I have to click 80 times. Wouldn't it be much easier to set 'max' to the maximum number of that item that fit into one slot instead of 999? So if I click 'max' I buy 80 potatoes not 999.

  • I'd rather there be a stack button since a lot of items have low stacks.

Also you can type in the amount you want...

  • I do the same thing...hitting max to me means the number I need to complete a stack...and when 999 pops up, I shake my head and type in the number I need after calculating for a few minutes in my head what the stack difference is...would love to have max mean fill a stack (and if it was all full, it would assume I want a second stack starting at zero).

  • As much as I can understand wanting this, I actually use the 'max' button quite often.  It's a lot easier for me to hit 'max' and let the game figure out that xxx actually means 50ish tree poison rather than me having to look at all my bags and mentally calculate how many slots I have available.  On the flip side, there are only so many different stack sizes for other items, so it's much easier for me to specify 160 parsnips vs 48 hooch vs 200 spice tree beans when going for those instead.

  • Trick, love this idea, though I think the button should be named to "Full stack" or something, instead of "Max" if they change it.

Just FYI, you can type in how many you want to buy.  No need to click "+" a bazillion times.  (Don't worry, I also learned this the heard way, through the forums!)

  • I usually type in the number that I want, but since I only wanted 3 beers, I clicked the + sign to make the number go up.  In my haste, the last click was 'max' and then I hit buy and whammo - no way out.  So, it's not a nice mistake.  I had enough currants that absorbing the loss was fine, but this could easily wipe out someone's entire stack of currants.

I'd like to see an 'are you sure' click-through if you ever hit max for a product.

  • It is possible to sell back to the vendor anything one has bought by mistake.  You will lose a certain amount of currants, maybe enough to ensure you don't make that mistake again?

  • Larky: yeah, I only found out from liridona's post that you can type the number. Oops. I think my idea still stands though. A 'max/max stack/full stack' button would be great to have.
