Save the vendors!

I'm sure I can't be the only one who likes the appearance of the vendors. The pretty lantern-like ones in the firebog, the charming and varied leaf and flowers ones, the frankly adorable little lizards in masks! And then there's the more individual ones - Helga and Uncle Friendly, the Polar Bear, and some curious characters down in the depths of Ilmenskie. But apparently, in the game's future, these fun creatures will be phased out! I've no objection to removing their ability to sell items, but surely some use can be found for the characters themselves? I really enjoy seeing them when I walk down a street, and I for one think the game would be poorer and more homogenous without them.

  • Maybe they can be saved but just to sell trinkets or toys or something trivial.

  • They will still be there. Just eventually fuelled with items by players.

  • I agree that vendors are wonderful aesthetically, but I am looking forward to seeing them being phased out as that will mean more things that we can make ourselves.

For example, if the groceries vendor is no longer needed then we could get honey from beehives by perhaps soothing them with a powder that we could also make, we could make beer and ice, fish for salmon, grow or harvest mushrooms.  We could also make things from the toy vendor, like a cubimal. we could use paper to make the boxes, and use metal and a watchmaking and electronics skill to construct the mechanics of them. Then spices and berries could dye them, and it could be random as to which one we ultimately construct in order to keep the same rarities as now.  However, perhaps after constructing 2000 cubis, then 5000 cubi's there is a rarity luck increase.

  • They should sell their respective cubimals, but at very high prices to keep them rare. Jk.
But I agree, some use NEEDS to be found. For these iconic little characters :D

  • The vendors could appear during holidays to sell special stuff, as it would be great if not only in the future that Zilloween was celebrated but other Glitch holidays like Recurse Eve, Recurse, the three day festival of Root in the month of Candy and Sprinkling. They could also be used to celebrate Christmas and Easter.

  • The thing I want to like (and would miss) about vendors that doesn't happen much is the social aspect of going to a common gathering place, like going to the post office or the village store or a college student union and running into people you know or might like to know.

  • Holy capslock Batman.

I agree, I'm gonna be sad to see the vendors go. Would it be possible to make the auctions more like a marketplace then? The short expiration time makes me unwilling to sell there.
