It has opened up a lot of possibilities from making sure that your house piggies are cared for when you, the player, takes a vacation or hiatus all the way to "instant group halls."

My boyfriend has had a glitch account since beta but isn't interested in the game as much as I am (his time is taken up by Skyrim). He has a firebog house and I don't, so the keyring feature allows me to keep herbs and crops. I have found that super handy. :)

Good idea but for me, from the start I've used my house like one massive cupboard, there's crap all over the place and I'd find it hard to let anyone else in tbh.
-
My thoughts are that if you're not me or sleeping with me, then you don't get a key.
Pretty much the same as how it would be with my real life house.
I honestly don't understand why people would give anyone other than a mule account or their partner a key.
Maybe I'm just not very trusting.

I would swap keys with my best friend because we both have expensive crap all over the floor and know we wouldn't steal from each other. I agree on not just giving out keys though, and even if you keep everything valuable in your cupboard when you swap keys the other person has access to that too. For close friends it's nice though, or like real life you could share the cost of a house with someone and both get to use it.

Great way to share the use of icons.

Only for people I know IRL.

Hehehe....

... and when I was homeless this week, having packed up all my belongings and spreading the bags among 3 other friends and myself then selling my old house (only to find that the houses I'd planned to buy had been snapped up in those 10 minutes), it was SUPER INVALUABLE to have keys to a couple friends' houses so I could drop my stuff somewhere while waiting for a house to come on the market. SUPER EXCELLENT timing, TS.

I think it's a good thing; it gives people another choice.
Personally, I've only got a few very good friends I'd trust keys to (not that I have as yet to all of those few), as I'm very cautious about such things.

I've handed out a ton of keys to friends. 20ish?
no downside, just a bunch of people making use of my herb garden and leaving friendly notes and gifts.
it has been fun, truly.

anyone want to try out a house? I just bought one (on my first day!!) It is a cave, and i would love for any and all to contact me who want a key. nothing is anywhere, no valuables, nada. cuz i just bought it today... duh!
Just come see me anywhere. you know how. I don't. so yeah!

My bestie has a key, and will always have a key, and she is the only one I will ever even consider. :3

I find it useful because I work a lot so don't have a lot of time to play so my gf takes care of my stuff. I come home and my garden is tended and animals are tended to. I only share my key with her and her cousin. I treat my home here like my real home. I hardly let strangers in.
-
And all this time I thought it was just a game, but people have friends here and/or in real life? Which comes first?..... I need to get out more.

My RL best friend plays. My sister has an account, but I don't think she's played. A couple of other friends are ones I met through other games and have known a while (over a year or two). That's how I found the game, actually

If a keyholder could not open my cabinet, or maybe a new feature item, a safe with so many slots could be purchased, it would mitigate some of the trust issues.

I've given my key to one other person and its become downright dangerous.
It actually started pretty innocently. She gave me a key to her place so I stopped by and my bags sprung holes as I walked. Next thing I knew her place was covered in purple! Then I signed in later and it appears her bags sprung leaks in my place! Meat, cheese and milk were everywhere! I went to return them but all that came out were planks. There were so many it looked almost as if I'd left behind a hardwood floor. And when she stopped by, her potato collection went EVERYWHERE! I mean, I guess I have heard about how those hot potatoes behave but I'd never thought they'd turn against her in my home!
Just this evening I was off to leave a note for her and now there are long green things all over her floor. I don't know if she greased the place or what but my bags just can't handle going inside there!
I tell you glitchenfolk, I am MORTIFIED that my bags behave this way in her home. I feel like I might lose a friend because of the bag shenanigans! How do I get my bags to start listening to me again?
(I ADORE the key sharing feature. THANK YOU tiny speck! My next prank is planned...)

I love the feature and the interface. But I'm not sure about the 'keyring' thing.
I think the solution could've been more creative and Glitchy and that another set of keys can be confusing for new players (because we already had keys for locked streets).
-
I like the idea, however there is no way I feel safe handing a key over to just anyone in the game. I am very uncomfortable with the fact they can take anything. No way to make your cabinet or garden or pens untouchable. So the key thing is no change for me at all. Definitely not a game breaker that is for sure!
I wish we can feel comfortable having anyone visit in our homes. I wish we can have a little more control over what can be moved or taken. This is going to be even more important in the future when we can build on our homes and would love to show off what we have done but I won't be doing that until I can have more control over what visitors can mess with!

Ebiler I love the "If you're not sleeping with me" part lol...My wife has a key to may place and she takes my stuff all the time. But that is nothing different from real life haha
I would like 4 keys
1 for door (look around)
1 for crops (plants+feeders)
1 for cabinet (cabinet+plants+feeders)
1 for all (including the floor+cabinet+plants+feeders)
I think that would help

I've found it really handy. My other half doesn't play much, and having a key to their place allows me to have both a herb and a crop garden!
It also means I can had out a key to keep my animals fed when I'm away from internet access for a few days/weeks.
I also am a compulsive seller of most items in my bags, so when I do allow people access - I have everything stored on my character anyway.
