Awesome Stew!

I think Awesome Stew should be "Nerfed" so to speak.
I think it deters diversity.
Here's how:
1) Master Chef 2, and indeed all of the cooking skills as a set, are at a low time cost to learn, comparatively to the other skill sets. So people starting out learn these first so they can have a some skills under their belt. It's quick and easy compared to AK or Gardening or Mining or Tinkering.
2) Awesome Stew provides a high return for it's creation. Good xp and lots of currents, 160 if sold in Cerbarkul. Also due to the high value, an excellent donation item.

These provide a very quick level gain (xp due to donation) and money gain early on for new players, that's good, but it becomes a habit, since it is so lucrative there is no need to diversify.
This, in my opinion, has lead to many streets being all Bean Trees and filled with pigs, two of the main ingredients of Awesome stew. This is making for a more antagonistic game play environment.

Please do something to curb the Awesome Stew epidemic plaguing our community.
Perhaps a limit on the number of stews that can be made per day.

  • There is already an XP limit on Awesome Stew  (per game day)

  • I think Awesome Stews are actually great, encouraging sharing and trading with several people with different skills. Any serious quantity cannot be made  entirely from ingredients grown and harvested in one home.

Beans and spice can be gathered either from a garden but mainly harvested 'in the wild' as one garden cannot provide enough beans and spice for one Awesome Stew maker. So you have to leave your home. Any shortfall needs to be bought or traded for. So you have to interact with people

And then the excess stews are sold or traded for with the people providing your shortfall, or the Miners and Alchemists who are very energy hungry.

So Awesome Stews not only provide energy and income for the Awesome Stew chef but for a wide variety of people with diverse skills and of different XP levels, and encourages community interaction

  • If that were the case, then there wouldn't be streets and streets of bean trees.

  • Awesome Stew is not very efficient when you look at calculating % energy gain from cooking, plus due to the heavy bean requirements is hard to ramp production very high.

Compare this to the lowely Sammich, which gives a huge return using low quantities of very basic resources.

The one advantage AS has is energy density, which means it packs more in per stack than anything else 12*200 = 2400 per stack
