Is it just me who leaves the "find a friend" quests undone?

It's taken me longer to get to "Peter out peat" and the Something something Loam quests done that it did to do the last-egg quest.  Am I the only one?  Yes, I know "ask on global" but often I find the task of gathering a group of players together, who often don't have an interest beyond being nice, very taxing.

It's just harder to coordinate a group than it is to do things by yourself, I find.

  • I've left them undone for the most part...but at one point someone was on the same street as me and asked for me to help them dig (for the quest) so i did.  It's still undone but now just 1 dig away from completion.

  • You're not alone...I have tons of friends who are willing to help me with them if I ask, but those quests just don't appeal to me atm.
Maybe later on they'll interest me, but for now they just sit in my quest log lol

ETA:  - like the poster above me, if someone asks me to help them with a quest, then I will help them.

  • I've helped others with them, and know how big of a pain the peat quest can be as a result. That doesn't exactly make me eager to do it.

The loam one can actually be done solo, though, despite the hint about upping your chances by working in a group.

  • Just so you know, you can do the loam quest by yourself - I did. And, yes, I have also left the peat quest undone, although I have helped quite a few people get theirs before I even had the quest.

  • I too find it difficult to organize a group to get those quests done.  I did the loam quest by myself, and was fortunate to find a group doing the peat quest.  For what it's worth, I'm willing to help others with quests.  Just IM me if I'm on and I'll TP on over.

  • I have 4 quests left,3 of them require I find others to help me 'do' the quest. I doubt these will ever get done.

  • I just got 3 very helpful passerby gliches to help me on one of those, but
bribing people on local chat may be a good idea (offering an appreciation gift if they help you complete the quest).

  • I'm not interested in the peter out peat quest, I don't like asking for help and I helped others one night and it was impossible to complete.

The loam quest, you can do it by yourself, in kajuu for example, you need to find dirt fast.

  • I frequently organize peat quests for people, so if you need help with that, you can try sending me a message in game.  Anybody, that is :)

  • I personally waited to long for the "It takes two" quest for having someone help you with digging dirt. I assumed the demand for digging dirt would be large enough where it would just happened, then after awhile I just stopped caring that I had it. Now my SA is so high, I dig dirt too fast for anyone to be able help me.

The loam one I think I managed to do on my own. But learning my lesson I joined in a group who posted in global when they were doing "Peter Out Peat".

  • The Peter out Peat quest is the only one I have left in my queue. I'm just not interested in it. Plus, I hear its annoying to accomplish. I did the loam quest by myself in Kajuu.

  • I had the peat quest in my queue for a very long time.

At Zilloween, I spontaneously decided to join a group of people gathering and setting out to do it. It was difficult indeed, because you need to find the right spots and coordinate your actions among yourself.

But what fun it was!! After finally having it completed, I have to say it was maybe the best quest I ever did in Glitch. So much more challenging than all those other "collect x of x" or "do x a x times" quests.

I'd love to see more group related quests.

  • The loam quests were easy for me.  I did them in Beta and again after Reset.  I went to Kajuu and Andra where there are plenty of dirt piles.  I was able to recruit passersby pretty easily and got those quests done quickly both times.  No muss, no fuss.  I also enjoy helping others get them when I can.

The peat quest is harder.  For that one you need about 4 people at least and really cannot count on a group passing by to help.  You will need to recruit Friends.

  • I was just wandering the streets when I happened upon a group of people doing the peat quest. They some of the best people I've met in this game!!

  • I pretty much leave them lying around undone until someone mentions them to me. Then I usually will help to get mine done as well. I certainly don't go out of my way to get them done, because I dislike seeking out others to do so.

  • I had the peter out quest for a while....   was eavesdropping in global and saw someone ask for help and decided to join the effort.

There were three or four of us who needed it and everyone stuck around until we all had it.

    It was actually pretty fun.

Keep your eyes open in Global and you should be able to join a group.

I understand your reluctance to ask for help...  but if you monitor Global enough, you're bound to find another Glitchen asking for help and you can jump in!!

  • I prefer to play alone. So I left those quests until a perfect opportunity presented itself. I wouldn't have finished them if the opportunity hadn't come along. I only have one friend playing the game right now that I'd feel comfortable asking and she plays hardly at all.

In short, you are not alone in your aloneness. ;)

  • they are the two most dull, uninspiring quests I've ever attempted. they'll stay in my quest log unfinished. prolly until I retire from Glitch. There's no real need for dirt or loam, and the task is as dull as the outcome. so why even bother?

  • I didn't think any of those were tough at all, there are always groups of people walking around the bogs trying to do the peat quest. Opportunities for the digging/ mining with people ones come along all the time, and that one dig however many lumps of loam in 30 minutes one I did on my own pretty easily.

  • I didn't really bother with those quests until a friend asked me to help her.

To be fair though, I mostly ignore quests.  I have dozens of them just sitting there.  I find they distract me from whatever my goals are and only do them on accident or when I'm bored, which is rare.

  • I generally don't bother to *try* to get those, but if I stumble on an opportunity in progress, I'll jump in sometimes. I still don't have Peter out Peat, and I'm level 55.
