Do you like to save Glitch mail?

I'm tidying my Glitch mailbox today. I have to do this periodically because I like to save the messages people send. Once my Glitch mailbox has more than 50 messages, though, I can't get to the older messages. So I take screen shots of the messages I want to keep (which turns out to be most of them) and then delete them from my Glitch mailbox. This is much easier to do now that I can read my Glitch mail from my home page rather than having to go to a mailbox in-game.

Do you like to save Glitch mail?  If so, do you have a method for saving it offline?

  • This personally is a pretty big pet peeve of mine on Glitch, and I really hated it when I noticed that you could only view 50 at a time.

To be honest, I have NEVER deleted a single message, except for the auction fulfillment messages. And not all of those are deleted.

I've always hated sites where the PM/Mail system was made up of a finite inbox, with you being able to save some mails to an finite savebox. While on those sites the messages that don't get saved and get pushed off the mailbox get deleted, unlike Glitch, Glitch's mail system still is a big problem for me.

I guess TS has its own reasons for not having the mailbox being able to view more than 50 messages, even in the mailbox page. I suppose all the mails are saved though.

To your question, I've never actually saved messages, as I'm assuming that my important ones are being saved, and hopefully one day I'll be able to view them. I think screenshotting them is a pretty good idea, and if you have time and want to do some kind of art project, you could make a 'collage' or a 'mural' by piecing them all together into one big image :P
Or I guess you could just copy paste every message (through mailbox page) into some text or Word document, though this wouldn't look as nice and wouldn't save the graphics from Glitch.

  • Just make a private group and post pictures of messages on there?

  • I wanted to copy the ones I liked to save to notes which I would store above my desk in  SDBs but then I all deleted them by mistake :(

  • Delete All Auction Fulfillment messages instead of "All Read messages"

Having pages for mail...ok 50 on page, deal, I'd still like to see older ones.

  • I never bother to delete anything, not even auction messages.    In my email I don't even bother to delete spam half the time (just skip the inbox and send to auto archive in gmail).

I wish there was a way to archive glitch messages.  It takes too long to decide what needs deleting and what doesn't.

  • Gmail  has filters and labels that allow you to automatically send something to archive without having to see it in the inbox. It's easy to find if you automatically tag it with a special label.   Once it is set up its a breeze, you just check your labelled folders once in awhile and keep important stuff in the inbox.   I also forward messages from other sites like flickr so that I can organize them in gmail.    If we could at least forward glitch messages to email (is that currently possible?) that would work too.

  • Do I like to save Glitch mail? I still have the original spam messages from the Beta Pickle from Sept 20! I can't make myself delete them.

  • I save all of them.  When I deleted a few, just to see what the other older one were, I regretted it.  I don't know why...maybe because I think it lets me see the glitch names before they get changed?  Sometimes, I lose track... :(

I also save notes. I love my old welcome notes that came with jars of whortleberry jam back from my old streets.  Thanks, old neighbors!  No, I wasn't calling you "old", I was just saying...

  • I too keep every Glitch mail that isn't an automatic auction-related notification.
