Ok, I admit that some of this is my own fault. I am a Mouse person, the Keyboard scares me. I am trying to visit all of my Friends. This, of course, results in many diversions off the path. I actually like tending the Gardens of other Glitchen (not my own so much). My Visiting Bag now is stocked with seeds, both Crop and Herb. There are a few catches to this Friendly gardening though and I always wonder "Why?".
I have found that streets with Herb gardens often have animals. Most of the animals are constrained by Sticks but some streets (like mine) have animals with Free Range. Herb seeds are easy enough to get. I Harvest and Shuck and replant. The trouble comes in when the Free Range animals get in the way. I end up petting and harvesting animals instead of Herbs or Crops. Yes, I know if I'd only use the Keyboard it wouldn't be such a problem but I forget. I also have this problem when gardens are fronted by all kinds of other things, feeders, collectors, piles of FREE stuff, etc. Why? Why do you place stuff where it blocks the gardens? Why can't I learn to use the Keyboard?
Today I came to a Garden that had a couple of plots totally obscured by collectors and feeders. I had to use the Keyboard but even then, I filled a feeder instead of watering a plot.
Now here's another "Why?". Why do people with Crop gardens seem to have no pigs? It's true. I can't tell you the number of times I have harvested a Crop garden and then gone in search of pigs to feed so I could replant only to find none! Most of these streets are so far along a diversion that I could never find my way back. Once or twice I have known the owner and so befriended them just so I could come back and replant their Crop garden later (also, I do like them!). If you have a Crop garden wouldn't it make sense to have a few pigs? Maybe you could leave a sign telling us which Friend on your post has pigs. Of course you could leave seeds but some Glichen would take the seeds and not plant your garden.
Oh well. Lest you think I am ungrateful I will tell you here and now that I am very grateful. I have enjoyed visiting many of you despite the lack of animals or the plethora of animal accessories on your streets. I find that almost every street is more interesting and amusing than my own and the Home Street tours I take have all been rewarding in one way or another. Thanks Citizens of Ur! I Salute you and your Gardens!
