Learning time,

It would be more conducive to learning skills if it took less time. Perhaps the more we learn, after a set level, the less time it would take to learn a skill. It shouldn't take 28 days to learn something. The attitude is "why bother"

  • Learn the long skIlls early, then! I learned all the long skills really early, and the most was 7 days for Teleportation! Better Learning also helps.

  • Jo Jo, the idea is to encourage Glitches to specialize and rely on each other.  If it was easy for us to learn all of the skills, then there'd be no reason to cooperate or trade and no need for any kind of economy.  Sometimes a challenge makes the game more interesting, if only you look at it from a different perspective.

  • For example, I have unlearned all the cooking and croppery skills because food no longer interests me and it is so easy to get in the game.  This has improved my ability to learn other skills.  The reason it is taking you a long time to learn things is because you are trying to learn everything.  pick and choose.

  • I, however, have learned everything.  With the help of the Glitch Academy, and a great deal of patience.  But, if any new skills come out, I'm going to have a fairly long time to learn them.  However, I'm in it for the long haul, I know I have the patience, and I still find plenty in the game to occupy my interests in the mean time.  And even knowing everything, I find that there are many skills I just do not use much, nor expect to.

I suggest taking the lack of skills as a challenge to explore other aspects of the game in order to acquire and do the things you'd like.  There are many hidden wonders here that simply take some poking around to find.

  • alas, I suspect you are right. I do enjoy the game and am in it, as you say Carl, for the long haul. Time to gear up the patience and go play. Thank you for you all for your help and insight.
