Targeted levitation would be a skill or an upgrade that is built upon the meditation and teleportation skills. It would let you move automatically from one location to another on the same street. I envisage it as something you would activate through your focusing orb, which would bring up a snapshotting-like interface. You'd move the view until you can see the location you want to arrive at and click on it or type enter. Then you'd just gently float to that spot, hover for a second, and land. If there's something to land on, cool, otherwise you'd just float downwards until you landed on something, just like if you'd fallen off a cliff or a branch as normal.
Targeted levitation would be something that you could do if you want to get to a specific location on the street that you are on. For example, I am really bad at jumping, especially when I'm lagging, which makes the vertical quoin-jumping streets frustrating for me. If all I want to do is to get to the next street sign way up the top of the map, I could use targeted levitation to get up there. Another possible use would be to get to a specific high-yield quoin that is hard to get to by jumping. Some of these things could be done with levitation or spinach, but with targeted levitation you wouldn't need the keyboard co-ordination that these methods require - once you'd set the target, you'd just float there automatically.
This would be a pretty powerful thing to be able to do. Here are some suggestions to balance this:
* huge energy cost per use (similar to teleporting);
* long meditation timeout afterwards;
* limited number of uses per day (like map teleports);
* huge imagination cost to buy the upgrade (if it were released as an upgrade);
* disabled in some areas, like mini-games or quests.
* maybe risk of damage to your focusing orb
I'm not suggesting the implementation would need all of these features for balance, but it could include some of them.
Also you would need to have completed the skill tree branches that lead up to levitation and teleportation 5, and there could be a challenging quest or achievement to complete to unlock it (or to have it come up in your upgrade cards).
