A Glitch Cemetery in Lieu of Laggy Cebarkul

Since the Wine of the Dead inclusion, Cebarkul has become like a Grateful Dead tailgate extravaganza. I am amazed that no one is handing out purple flower and rubeweed. Anyways... it's really convenient when I am about to die, because I know someone will mourn or celebrate my passing.

At the same time it's inconvenient because of the lag with a vengeance that comes with the large amount of gratefully dying glitch loiterers. So I thought to myself... Wouldn't it be great to have a dedicated spot for the die crazy revelers, and what better place than cemetery?

I humbly request this...

  • I think that would be awesome! I could just imagine some beautiful cemetery gates and walls in a beautiful Glitch style... and it would be an awesome place for people to know where to go if they want to mourn/celebrate or be mourned/celebrated!

  • I know... I'd love to see more spooky in game, and how appropriate for zilloween?

  • There can even be more than one... which may or may not affect the amount of potential mourners/celebrators, but will likely lessen the lag in Cebarkul.

  • Like the good Rev. said, could this maybe be instanced with a certain cap on occupants, then... like the first bit of Hell? With people constantly coming through, this certainly wouldn't hurt the mourning/celebrating opportunities at all, I don't think, and that would cut the lag so folks on slower connections and whatnot could still die with confidence. Also, cemeteries are usually not packed to the gills with mourners, so it might be prettier and more mood-appropriate to only have X number of Glitchen wandering around. My only thought against it would be that people might just go there to die and we'd have a problem with lack of mourners/celebrants.

I haven't really had the opportunity to try out the new dying methods yet though, so I may be talking out of my muppety behind.

That was my first thought too. We go to die at the tool vendor because we know there will be lots of people there who could mourn us. But I then realised that those who have gone to the cemetery will be alive before and after their own death and would be able to do the mourning. You mourn me, I'll mourn you

  • It'd be neat to use the faded heart's "remember" verb in the cemetery, and see ghostly images of the other players.  A mini-game played with the apparitions might inspire people to return often.

Graves should automatically appear in the/a cemetery regardless of where they die in the world.

Food for the dead: in the cemeteries there could be altars where other players can offer food for the newly resurrected. They can only eat enough to get themselves to 50% energy and mood.

  • ooohh like glums idea. but yes a dedicated location for dying I think is much needed. Merth has great ideas too.

Wondering if linking this in to making a spooky subway would be good.
