Well, I was trying to explain Glitch to The Boyfriend in an attempt to get him to sign up.
"See that? You just nibble on the pigs there -- get out of the way, chicken! -- and you get tasty meat. Oh, you squeeze the chickens for grain. And, watch this! You milk the butterflies."
"So, what you're saying is that you have to be a crazy person to play this game?"
There was something absolutely brilliant said in one of the threads...and my first thought was it needed to be reposted here...but I couldn't find this thread at the time...sigh, and now I've forgotten what the brilliant comment was...suspect it had to be in one of the pickle discussions...lol.
How about things we imagine we might hear...(I was just contemplating the depth of Senor Funpickle, and how cool it is that we have one and he is now listed in the encyclopedia...which will cause many questions to be asked by post-launch noobs)
Noob talking to a beta..."Whoa, you were a beta, can I see your pickle?"
It's really the things non-Glitch players overhear that cause O_o reactions. To other Glitch players they make perfect sense! My friend and I sometimes post about Glitch on our Twitter accounts and we're pretty sure everyone else who follows us thinks we're insane.
The one I got some lifted eyebrows for was when I was talking about how happy I was not to have to buy lube for the butterflies any more ....
"stupid pickle made me sneeze beans!"
"the trees wont stop trying to talk to me"
"the giant toaster loves me"
"hehe the rock just told me to get my rocks off"
"there is nothing like a row of headstones to make a home complete"
Just ended up doing an "Only in Glitch" myself a little while ago. Me and some other folks were betting on D-12 rolls and i'd lost a bet. When I went to trade the Currants to the person who'd won she asked what it was for. Without even thinking I responded "I picked Pot, you rolled Alph"
flask mentioned that she was low in mood due to some specific quest or badge related activity, but mitigated the situation with, "It's ok, I'll go pet some stuff later."
