How can I be a good beta tester?

I have never been a beta tester before so I am very unsure how to be a good one.

I am the sort of person who shrugs things off and doesn't say anything but I have made three "bug reports" by clicking on the bug button.  I have no idea if I should have or if those reports were wasting the devs time.

Any tips for me as I want to be useful to the devs not a moronic pain in the keyster.

Thanks.

  • First, if you haven't done this already, open up Live Help while you're in the game.  That will help you get a sense of whether something is a problem you need to send a report about or not.  I often ask there before I file a report.

Second, take a look at the Bugs forum.  Devs keep a list of Hot Issues pinned to the top of that forum, and let you know which bugs they already have enough info on.

  • And, if you haven't already, it's incredibly helpful if you can install the debug version of Flash. It grabs a lot more info to send to the devs, so they can see exactly what you were doing (not in a creepy stalker way, but in an "oh, THAT'S where the problem is!" way!)  and how your machine was handling it, in order to better pinpoint any errors.

The official post about the debugger is here.
