No dev ever replied to this post. The idea of joining a group whose membership is hidden (even when the group is open to everyone) disturbs me. Will groups always be structured in this way?
The way groups are set up now, unless you join the group you cannot see the members or the posts within the group. It's easy to join and leave the group though - so not a huge barrier to access.
However … there is talk of a possible change to the way groups work. Nothing concrete yet, but stay tuned … more on this soon.
Thank you :) The "max groups" makes for some hard decisions... and serial group-joining. I feel like a weirdo when I join and leave one group after another.
BUT: Since there's no "public" text description, the only way to find out more about a group is to join it... and since we have a hard limit, I can't stay in the groups I've already joined if I want to explore further.
Me too, but I feel bad because I know all my friends will get a notification saying I joined the group, and they can't tell whether I stayed even after they join it themselves.
