[investigating] Kajuu background disappeared

After being bumped under the influence of ancestry i landed in Rabenna in Kajuu. There was only a yellowish haze where the background should be. All the actionable items were floating in their proper positions within the haze. This strange effect lasted until I refreshed the game. I traveled to several streets while under its effect.

Last test I believe this same strange phenomenon happened to another player. I didn't understand what she was talking about, because I was able to see the regular background during the time she was only able to see the haze.

  • I didn't understand how reporting bugs in-game worked until now. kevbob, do you prefer reporting bugs in-game to reporting them here? It is easier to share details here in the forums, I think-- one can think it through instead of dealing with a pop-up in the middle of game play. Plus other players can help if it seems the same issue.

  • Not to step on the devs toes, but perhaps the answer is both. I agree it can be frustrating, and i don't always do it. But the bug tool gives them, i believe, a snapshot of the client data at the time of the report. Ive heard a few times now that they'd prefer if i bug reported using the bug tool instead of asking questions lol.

  • I would suggest always reporting using the in-game bug reporting tool (or add to an existing bug report if you're having repeat bugs and have new info to share).

The devs created that system specifically to track bugs. We don't need bug reports cluttering up the forums, and having the bug reports in their database is most useful for them, even though you may find it somewhat inconvenient in some ways. It is much easier for them to find useful patterns and track the status of issues that are reported via that tool.

Also, you can always add text, screenshot links/whatever through your profile on the website after you have initially reported the bug through the tool. That should ameliorate some of the hassle that you dislike with the in-game tool.
