I would like a headscarf with large gawdy pin, a la Little Edie Bouvier. That way I wouldn't need no stinkin' hair and I would be utterly wonderful and fabulous. A sweater worn upside-down as a skirt would also be utterly wonderful and fabulous.
Fez, Bowler and Top hats; Monocle; Hard Hat (yellow) and Miner's Hat (metal); Winkle Picker shoes; bunny ears and tail; tails in general; an anti-allergy glass bowl over my head (that tree pollen is a killer); tattoos; a camera was a cool suggestion; entire clothing sets for as many of the skill branches as possible (I love to cook in my chef's jacket, but I need a hat etc. too).
So many good ideas you all have! I am in need of cowboy boots, mini skirts, tights or leggings, some long-sleeved plaid shirts, and a leather jacket. And of course I will second the bow tie and fez suggestions. (: For hair I would enjoy an option that is wavy like the ponytail hair, but worn down instead of up in a ponytail.
I'd like a tailoring skill where the base skill and additional skill levels give you free patterns when you learn them. I'd also like the option to purchase with credits additional patterns that include things like occupation buffs, or maybe they're just patterns for super awesome clothes you can't buy ready-made with credits.
Examples:
-mining hat w/light, steel toe boots, etc might make mining require less energy or would maybe result in more gem drops.
-overalls + straw hat could lead to greater crop yields or drops of some of the more rare music blocks.
-some kind of meditation outfit could mean greater energy/mood boosts from meditating.
-chef hat, jacket could result in less energy used for cooking or slower break down of cooking tools.
These clothing/gear items could also be like tools, where they're worn down with use and need repairing by a tailor, which would introduce a new way to play together: seeking out & requesting services from a tailor, either for repairs or for buying clothes.
-1 for clothing getting to be like tools. I don't wanna see 500 pairs of mining boots in the caves because they provide some sort of 'boost'. I also don't like the potential for real world money to alter game play.
Good point about mining boots in caves. Seems like people would sell or donate though?
There's been talk of real world money being used for teleportation bonuses. If there's a multiple teleportation points feature, that can also alter game play. Multiple teleportation points + street projects = greater potential for small numbers of people doing massive material dumps. People leave tons of materials in their houses for future street projects. What's to stop them from going back and forth in no time at all and donating bags of stuff at the start of projects?
As for clothing buffs from tailors, if they're able to sell the clothes at auction, it's not really altering game play in a way that creates an unfair advantage for the person spending the money. The only advantage to them is being able to earn currants through auction and repair their own stuff.
Maybe that's not enough of an incentive to buy things with real money though, unless currants are made more difficult to earn at some point or there are more things to do with them. Right now, it's pretty easy to make a lot of currants and not much to spend them on once bags are upgraded and tools are bought.
Anyway. The more I think about it, the less I like the idea ;) Was just thinking out loud. I do like the idea of some sort of tailoring skill because a glitch-sized sewing machine would be adorable, and making clothes would be fun especially if there's ways to customize them somehow or make items that are exclusive to tailors.
Also, +1 for glum's bunny suit suggestion and +1,000,000 for camera/strap.
I think you've got a great idea in the works leah, tailoring with some sort of added advantage (just not sure what) is an awesome in-game concept. As for the teleporting, they've already planned for people trying to use the tokens this way and built in some stop-gaps (from the looks of the explanations we've been given) such as only being able to talk/interact with other players but not the world.

@Faereluth HAHAHAHHAHA that sounds like a Harvey Christian... not a monk! :) *hops on one foot demonstrating*
I'm talking about perhaps orange or red robes (like real monks) ... but for the game... i think i like something that would match my panda hat :)
+1 to keeping hair while wearing hats (since I only wear censor bars, i'm not fretted about the clothes lol)
I think we should request a mankini for Bob Apple.
@RainyRain: Harvey Christian! AHAHAHHAHAHA (Anyone else used to read Bloom County real early, where Opus talked to a hare krishna and thought he'd said "hairy fishnut"?)
Oh, and some of us privately asked stoot for coconut bras, so posting it here so they don't lose track ;)
high-heeled shoes, including ones w/ lace-up stuff. Those would go real well with the censor bars (though my bunny slippers rock, too, if I do say so myself :D )
ahh yes, we definitely need high heels!! I was also thinking coconut bikini, with grass skirt would be pretty bad@#! ...... Also.. we need tails... as an accessory, And capes... yes.. capes..
ahhh i like the french maid outfit! Maybe a kitty outfit...... i have a habit of saying "Meow" instead of "hello" (yes, sadly im an adult) And have to refrain from doing so in this game so i dont like senile
Forgot where i was going with that.. anyways. then i could say "Meow" LOL
blackwidow, re "i have a habit of saying "Meow" instead of "hello" (yes, sadly im an adult)" — you'll be happy to know that May, who does a lot of the clothing illustrations, has exactly the same habit!
Kitty ears and tail
Full suit of armour
