Multi-sided Die?

WTF?  I saw a player with one of these, and since we don't have a "mug" action, and I am not a juju, I couldn't immediately acquire it.

How DO I acquire it?   http://i.imgur.com/hwBlt.png

  • WindBorn bought one on auction, and I've seen devs rolling them. D12 with 11 Giants and the Rook.

  • Hmm. I don't have a "mug" action for devs either...

  • Jade and eric mentioned that they *might* be obtainable from the Rube.

  • The Rube won't speak to me any more.

  • me either Brib.

  • The Rube not speaking to us might be because we don't have a slot in our main inventory that holds an item, rather than a bag. The last time I saw the Rube, he wouldn't speak to me until I dropped a bag and put a stack of meat where that bag had been.

  • i hear somebody got one with an auction sniper, which is okay because the auction sniper doesn't affect core in-game activities and is thus Fair :/

  • Somewhere in the world, there are several of these dropped around in secret places. I'm not sayin' where! ;)
Posted 16 months ago by kevbob Subscriber! | Permalink
  • secret places, eh!?  Guess that gardening quest will have to wait.
Posted 16 months ago by Nanookie Subscriber! | Permalink
  • Do they respawn at said locations, or one time thing?
Posted 16 months ago by Joe Blow Subscriber! | Permalink
  • No, they will not respawn

  • I found one! I typically enter every corner to check for poetry (and leave a little of own). So... that's my hint!

  • I just found one of your poems Flirty ;)
Cant find a flipin dice though :(

  • I just triggered a Rook attack by rolling the Rook but  have rolled it twice since and no attack ...  so perhaps it's random
Posted 16 months ago by Angel Slocombe Subscriber! | Permalink
  • Congrats Flirty!
Posted 16 months ago by kevbob Subscriber! | Permalink
  • I thought I'd found one, but it turned out to be a key. ): Found a 'hidden treasure' though. I probably won't stumble upon a die, but looking for one is quite a bit of fun!

  • Kevbob is it random whether there will actually BE a rook attack when rook is rolled or is it limited per player?
Posted 16 months ago by Angel Slocombe Subscriber! | Permalink
  • ...so there is a chance of being Rook Rolled, then?

  • They are puny. the size of beans, but I got one finally. hint: always always always hold spinach

  • I found one behind a tree somewhere.  Don't remember where, and wouldn't tell you if I did.

Here's what I've learned about its properties:
    * Rolling rooks appears to be less than 1/12 (not certain about this - just a guess).
    * I've rolled a rook about 7 times, but only twice have they actually appeared.
    * The rooks that appear will cause animals and trees to become rooked, but may not (1/2) scratch your HUD and will not (0/2) cause a full-on rook attack that must be defended against.
    * Rolling a giant appears to have no effect, even if you are standing next to a shrine for that giant.

  • "What I want from each and every one of you is a hard-target search of every gas station, residence, warehouse, farmhouse, henhouse, outhouse and doghouse in that area. Checkpoints go up at fifteen miles. Your fugitive's name is Rook Roller. Go get him. "

All I found so far was a Mabbish coffee and a note meant for noobs!  Will keep looking, though...

  • Is the multi sided dice only available this test?
Posted 16 months ago by Faereluth Subscriber! | Permalink
  • Um, all dice are multi-sided, guys :)

But the 12-sided one might be new this test.
Posted 16 months ago by larky lion Subscriber! | Permalink
  • yeah I meant the 12 sided one. It is new this test but is it only available this test?

  • I have rolled rook many times, never have I actually seen one.

  • Yay, I found one too! (It looked almost like lost whortleberry, alone under the spice tree.)

What can I actually do with it?:)
Posted 16 months ago by nekomaki Subscriber! | Permalink
  • I found a 12-sided dice in a strange cave, but I have NO IDEA how I got there. Does the dice do anything special other than summoning the rook?
Posted 16 months ago by Mirabella Plunkett Subscriber! | Permalink
  • Anyone want to sell one? I have currants, bribery, anything really LOL :)
Posted 16 months ago by ~Annie~ Subscriber! | Permalink
  • I just found one by accident. I didn't know they were anything special.
Posted 16 months ago by DTECH Subscriber! | Permalink
  • Oh wow, I was lucky, found one randomly while walking about... ended up summoning the ROOK :S

  • I found one, but it's below the floor level of the map... I can't seem to reach it. Anyone know what the trick might be here? I can hover over it with the mouse and see the tooltip for it, but clicking it doesn't do anything.

  • Wounder, ask in Live Help
Posted 16 months ago by WindBorn Subscriber! | Permalink
  • Wounder--I had a similar situation in a house I bought.  In that case, if I dragged it to my backpack, it would go, even though I couldn't pick them up.
Posted 16 months ago by noqualia Subscriber! | Permalink
  • Yep, apparently that's the correct way to deal with them... thanks for the help, noqualia. And Wundur in game!

(It does seem a weird way to pick them up, though... sort of at odds with other items behavior)

  • Not that I want to see Glitch, in any way, steered towards a pay-to-play format, but things like this I could see put in a "Glitcheria" where we could throw our credits at them and take them home to play with. This is in addition to the lucky who can find them out in the wild. Maybe coupled with an accessories shoppe within wardrobe.
Posted 16 months ago by malo Subscriber! | Permalink
  • I finally found one. Now we need a fun game to play with it. Something that includes emblems, methinks.  And includes the shrine on the street where you are playing.
Posted 16 months ago by Nanookie Subscriber! | Permalink
  • Hehe... high stakes craps! I'm down!
Posted 16 months ago by FlirtyvonSexenhaven Subscriber! | Permalink
  • Are there any left?? I'm gonna go hunting for one... Must find it!!
Posted 16 months ago by jjbob Subscriber! | Permalink
  • Sad thing is that these will probably be gone once the game opens up...right?
Posted 16 months ago by AlexanderTheGreat Subscriber! | Permalink
  • I use is to pass judgment on streets.  If a giant comes up the street is protected.  The the rook the street is forfeit.  Only populated streets are worth being judged. Oh, and I roll it if I get bored... hehe.  Was hoping if a giant came up it would swap out the shrine on the street for that giant's shrine or act like shrine powder and power up the shrine for donations for a limited time to give even more reason to risk rolling it.
