Powder of Startling Fecundity.

Is there a cap on the amount of animals Powder of Startling Fecundity will affect?

As a rediculous example: If I had 500 piggies in my house (yes, they would be crowded and you would not be able to manually harvest them) would it trigger the 500 piggies to drop meat?

  • What you are describing is known as a Meat Fountain. :) And yes, it's possible.

  • Thank you for the staff reply, that's what I was looking for.  I'd heard of it and saw that Pork Fountain post, but I was tentatively trying it on fewer pigs (30-40) and receiving poor results.  I didn't want to invest in many piggies and have it not be worth it.

On one hand it's nice, making Remote Herdkeeping more attractive, on the other hand it makes the Powder very inefficient, almost not worth using.

  • It has always been my observation that the Powder of Startling Fecundity is less than Startling.

  • We will definitely check it out, because it should be more than worth it. (Thought not INSANELY more than worth it.)

  • Can you make a Butterfly Milk Cascade this way as well?

  • Using Fecundity Powders is now more worthwhile:
    * Per-animal returns have been increased when there are less animals in a location (the overall gains, of course, are still larger the more animals there are in a location)
    * Maximum number of animals affected by a charge of Fecundity Powder has been increased from 10 to 15

  • I am now much more impressed by the Powder of Startling Fecundity :) And thank you for illuminating the number of animals we can affect! Does your AK level affect the output?

  • Ah, that explains it. I only learned IA last week, and naturally tried Powders of Startling Fecundity when I was in a location with lots of animals and no inconvenient other Glitchen to steal the food! I was definitely not getting food from every animal, and I thought maybe the pigs were eating some of it before I got there! Well, now I know: 15. Awesomeness.

I haven't been taking any of the Animal Kinship skills, so one charge of powder for tons of meat and butterfly milk in a hurry is pretty nice.

  • Nope, Animal Kinship skills have no effect on the returns of using the Fecundity powders!

  • nice work, TS!  Feels so good to be a part of a game where y'all listen.  I'll have to test the stuff out soon and see if people will start buying it! ;D

  • While the topic is fresh, I'm curious if it was a conscience decision for the powder not to affect Batterflys? I was so hoping the other day that my sprinkle of power in a cave would result in a shower of poo from the ceiling :) Alas!
