There is also an opportunity for vase building as a skill and flower arranging (I know that we've had at least one thread on the latter!)
I'd love to be able to send a vase with purple flowers to someone for their "trophy" shelf. They remind me of thistles, which I always liked even after spending weeks walking soybean fields as a much younger man in the Iowa sun.
I nominate Tibbi for Groddle Bureaucrat In-Training (GBIT)

Oooo, I love pottery. I still have some small bowls I made in college.
And flower arranging rocks. Esp the Japanese style.
Of course, there must be new skills. Now that the game will never close, I'm so happy taking time to build skills. So there must be new skills for when we finish with the current set. :)
Yes! I would like to put flowers on my table! I'd also like to give poseys to people (posies?) And herbs is a great idea for cooking! If only I had a wok.... *sigh*
Some went out of their way to purchase herb garden homes because they didn't care for growing crops. I don't know that it's fair to then take away all their herb garden patches when that was likely one of the major selling points for those houses. Perhaps, instead, an option to purchase small pots/planters for herb-growing in crop patch homes and then a small "greenhouse"/planter for growing crops in an herb garden home?
New tool - A Kiln for making pots and other clay artifacts. Mix something like barnacle dust, dirt, loam, or such. Then learn to fashion pots and bake them. Then they can be used on garden plots or placed on balconies. Make figurines, bake and then infuse them with regeneration or such, set them up at home (like incense).
Ahem... As the official "Flowerry Pott" of Glitch, I have to add: let's have pots, pots and more pots! Pots for everyone!
Yes! +10,000,000 for having crop gardens with optional herb pots and vice versa. (Besides, how much fun would it be to run around saying "crop pot" 20 times in a row?)
I believe the devs hinted at some change regarding growing things recently (within the last 10 days/2 weeks?). I haven't been able to locate the topic again, but IIRC it was said that something was being developed that would be a) awesome and 2) pleasing to both herb and crop gardeners.
Love Vorpal's idea. It would be great if everyone could grow herbs and crops in their homes but it's also nice that homes have location-specific resources, so that seems like a great idea that takes both things into account.
I love the idea of growing herbs in a pot. Also, we could have it so we could grow flowers too, and maybe attract bees who could be err milked for honey as it were lol.
Perhaps you could dig in clay pits for clay, make a pot and then use earth, loam and peat to fill it before you can plant herbs in it.
I was thinking, conversely, that maybe swamp houses could install a greenhouse somewhere (with artificial light), which would let them have a couple of regular crop plots. That way, each type of housing keeps its main character, but you don't have to fight so hard for some of the quests of the other type (or to have a decorative carrot -- hah!)...
I am so frustrate by the thiefs in the "community gardens" its the worst part of this game. Makes the potion skills a really waste of time when someone comes along and picks the few plants you try to grow. Too bad the devs don't go and try and grow a couple of plants and see what a total waste of time since they all get stolen. Live help isn't when all they say is buy a bog house, which means what I'm supposed to move so I won't be a victim of these thieves, not right or fair. Community gardens DO NOT work like this. They eject thieves so people can enjoy the fruits of thier labor, not give them carta blance to run rough shod over everyone else, I am so mad that this issue has not been fixed, which would be easy just like when you rearrange your bags and nobody can steal your belongings.
