Juju: what does it doodoo?

I've heard here and there and on several occasions, mentions of Jujus. Hmm... but what are they? Some clues:

Juju Shoo-Shoo Powder: alpha.glitch.com/items/468/

'Something wrong' page: 'Perhaps the bad Jujus have [something something something - I can't remember exactly what it says on that page]'

There's even a quick glance of one in the encyclopaedia: alpha.glitch.com/items/441/

Juju Boss?: alpha.glitch.com/items/444/

They must be something bad/pesky, perhaps they're persistent and keep coming back... preventing gameplay? I guess there's only one way to find out: wait and see. Or a second way would be for a dev to answer :3

  • The Juju Boss page has an interesting and ominous looking animation with a typically cryptic end.

  • Btw, is Juju pronounced 'joojoo', or 'juhjuh'?

  • I just got the joke! bad juju + jujubees = glitch jujus.

  • bad joojoos look like licorice. i don't like licorice. do joojoos leave a bad taste in your mouth? this is the "something wrong" page:
    bit.ly/emqVAa
(btw, the pic isn't publicly searchable, so please don't spread the link out of glitch-verse.)

inconsistency between "joojoo" and "juju" spellings vis something wrong page and encyclopedia respectively.

  • I'd bet this is Tiny Speck being all super-secret and not telling testers about a new feature they're dropping in a few tests from now. I think we can say with fair certainty that while the Rook was pretty impressive visually and practically, it wasn't rewarding (literally) and it was confusing (you didn't know if you were doing it right) and glitchy/slow.

If the Glitch guys came up with a slick way to do something "negative" (a la rook) without dedicating nearly as many resources as it took to make the Rook happen, I think they'd definitely go for it.

I also think that since the Rook was extremely hyped up (weeks and weeks and weeks of anticipation) with probably the strangest gaming experience since ET, they probably wouldn't want to pull the same card twice.

I would look forward to having a bit of a challenge in Glitch in the next few tests. Probably not this week, but definitely by beta.

  • jujus were seen in an earlier test, tho seemingly in a disabled state.

they looked like the image linked earlier except I think there was a yellow one as well.

they just kind of walked around looking cool. not clear how they'd actually behave in-game.
