Subscriber credits

As far as I know, the credit stipend we receive for subscribing can only be used for wardrobe/vanity stuff. Personally, I love my Glitch the way she is and don't really care about changing her outfit or look all the time (or, really, ever. I like having a solid visual identity!), so I have spent almost nothing and it just sits in a stockpile.

A) am I mistaken and there are other things to use these credits for?
2) what else would you like to see credits used for?

EDIT: we can buy teleportation tokens w/ credits @ 2 credits per token.

  • I thought the same way. i loved the way my Glitch looked but I felt the need for a name change to fit my new Glitchy approach to the game. Since then I've changed my look three times. Don't get to attached to one look, experiment, some of the clothes are really cool. And you can always change it back.

As for subscribing, I use the teleportation tokens more than I do the credits.

Maybe credits could play a role in the new housing upgrades? I'm really interested to see how this all plays out.

  • Personally, I have an inkling that the Totally New Housing stuff may utilize credits in a fashion similar to the wardrobe.

Would love to be able to spend credits on skill learning (to a limited degree of course, to keep the game relatively balanced)

Wonder whatever happened to that 'voting' stuff that comes with a subscription?

  • I like that subscribing players don't have an in-game advantage over free players. A fresh approach!

  • Agreed, Niks. I wouldn't want that to change. (she said as a subscriber!)

  • Credits can also be spent to buy additional teleport tokens.

I like that the gameplay advantage to paid subscribers is small; if more uses are put in for credits I hope and expect that they would be mainly cosmetic or otherwise just for funsies (rather than going the zynga route and have herb pots, mass crop harvesters, and dynamite for mining a whole rock at once available for credits only).

  • Perhaps it'd be nice for subscribers to be able to use credits to purchase limited edition items similar to the Yeti, GNG, and pickle? Those were distributed so that not every Glitch can have one, but they do not provide any sort of significant game advantage other than being a status symbol of sorts.

  • I agree Niks. In fact, I wish I could transfer some of my clothing credits (as a gift) to a few special non subscribers I know that would benefit from them far more than me. I have a sushi hat, I have pants, I have a super speshul coat. how much more does a guy really need?

  • That's a very nice idea Woochi. Perhaps we'll someday have the option to "gift" clothes to other glitches, pretty much like we can buy them a gift subscription today?

  • They have hinted before that credits would be used to buy decorations and such for housing eventually.

Whatever they allow to be done with them in the future, they've stated that it will be aesthetic stuff and not IG advantages, of which I am a big fan. :)

  • I think credits should be used only for design of the house (Wall color and design, sofas like Alakol house, and wall paintings) but not for improving the size of the house as that would give an advantage to subscribers. I can't wait for this to come out.

  • Paxton, I really don't have a problem with Tiny Speck providing some "advantages" to subscribers beyond the clothes they have access to a a few teleportations.  I think they are doing OK from a revenue standpoint, but there isn't much incentive to continue to subscribe month after month (beyond the teleportation) once your glitch has acquired a good size wardrobe.

I think coming up with interesting ways to get slightly more revenue should be expected.

Further Paxton, I don't think the size of the house would provide players an unfair advantage, if they kept maximum animal quotas the same for a 'large' house and an 'extra large' house.

I too would LOVE (perhaps even LOBE) the ability to gift account credits instead of purchasing a gift subscription.
