I am happy to tell you that I realize Glitch is the game of my dreams.
Because I want it so, the game is the be all end all... my wildest fantasy
come true....So Glitchkins, bambini,
Does Glitch ring your chimes and if so how so?
(until this test i would have said i love everything.) i love that glitch is a safe haven from all the aggressive, competitive games without being completely dumbed down and a mindless repetitive grind. i love that my little glitch isn't a hyper sexualized version of every fanboy's 1 dimensional slobberfest. i love the freedom of choices; staying home or doing project, interacting or playing solo, etc.. i love teleporting, riding the subway, fleeing from jubes, admiring my trophies, planning my strategy for the day and playing dress up.
but most of all, i love the testers :)
i love the potential of glitch and hope all our wildest glitch dreams come true. that would be cool.
Nanookie, for six months I argued that we should make it so that once you die in the game, you come back as a pig, butterfly or chicken (randomly chosen) for the remainder of that game day. You can only do the stuff that animal can do, but you can talk to other players and get XP, etc., from having them interact with you.
I stopped arguing it a few months ago when I couldn't get enough people to love it, but maybe it will come back :)
I love this game for many of the reasons already mentioned. It's non-competitive, it's community-building, it's mellow, it's beautiful, it's tuned in to the natural world. It's delightful and not in the least bit vulgar. I can let my kids sit beside me while I play, and even let my older child control my Glitch to wander around and harvest meat, eggs, etc. Did I mention that it's the most visually creative game I've seen in a long time? Oh, and best of all, it's browser based, so I can play it anytime, anywhere, regardless of my base machine.
My dream Glitch will have houses like Victorian doll houses... You can select and buy of course with currants..... furniture, draperies, wall to wall carpeting, Kerman Oriental rugs.. anti macassars ...
there will be open cupboards where you can put and see your cans of vegetable soup in alphabetical order... Ken and Barbie Glitch will have a nursery and baby Glitch- evolved from being a butterfly and then an eagle-- plays in his playpen.... Nanny Glitch hovers nearby..... the baby has access to Baby Einstein but he is so smart he makes his own game. He was born all knowing all seeing with a tabula rasa - a clean slate.... this baby has a mind like a steel trap and he quickly advances to be number one on the Leaderboard when the game goes PUBLIC...
I am so happy to hear that you went to bat for that! If it's not getting da love, ok then. Just so happy that it got a sounding board! Will keep crossing my fingers.
@napabeth:
"there will be open cupboards where you can put and see your cans of vegetable soup in alphabetical order"
For some reason I am getting this image of cans of A soup, cans of B soup, cans of C soup, etc...which made me laugh out loud!
I felt like my life was made for glitch my first 2 days. i played every second of it i had time for.
i am a fs refugee. i thought faunasphere was a game i would never lose. i was wrong. i only got to play for one year. i am hoping glitch stays for a good long time to put together my broken heart of losing my fauna babies :(
Another +1 to what coolbettycakes said. Sums it up perfectly. Can't even tell you how DELIGHTED I was when I FINALLY got the fated email the other day telling me I was finally welcome to step into this beautiful land.
I play Glitch every moment I can spare when it's open. When it's closed most of my random thinking is about what I will do next test. By comparison No-No is non-addictive.
I have been waiting for my invite since about the middle of Feb. Yes I too am a FS refugee.
This is not the name I used in FS..it is a new day and a new world! About 9 days ago I got the invite and went right into it with high hopes, I find this game wonderfully, amazingly, beautiful
and beyond all my wildest expectations! That first day as I traveled through the different streets and UR areas I was blown away by the creativity and beauty of each and every
place I went to. I was actually gasping in amazement at the 'life' in each place I explored. There was alot to experience and learn it was kind of overwhelming but in a good way. After my first day of playing I signed on for the free subscription for the 30 days, by the 3rd, day I
signed up for the top level year subscription and have been playing as often as possible
since. I don't care about 'winning' or rushing to the higher level, I don't feel the need to compete, but to enjoy and have fun, I like that there are a multitude of different fields that
you can choose to get invoved with and the way the rock will suggest challenges, or that you can choose to excel in a few specific things as you move through life as a glitch. During down time from the game I read through the forums and learned so much from the posts of players who have been here for a while....I see tons of names from that 'other game' and it's nice to see that there are so many folks here, as I think that was a nice community! I have browsed thru the wiki pages and found so much great info there also.
I have become hooked on the game and know I will enjoy playing for a long time. This is only my second post here but I feel comfortable in this community and look forward to being able to play 24-7 and not have to wait because the game is closed. :)
In Glitch many of us have found the home we sought in our childhood dreams. As adults we crave acceptance. In Glitch there are like minds....no difference the nationality, the sexuality. We all love to be entertained and to have fun.. this is universal... I can see a Tibetan with a laptop on the plains of Mongolia playing Glitch.... a Farsi speaking Iranian laying down his weapons to play Glitch...GOD give us peace and give us Glitch.
Napabeth loves vodka colins....she was advised by her primary care physician that a drink a day for everyone prolongs life and certainly makes you happier...Sometimes if Napabeth is too tired she becomes Napalmbeth and ruffles feathers here among the old biddies..hee hee. sorry about that.I thank the Lord I gave up smoking tobacco cigarettes long, long ago....Drinking does stop your thinking BUT too much thinking is dangerous.
