Auctioned items should allow brief player descriptions.

In a real auction, if someone sees an expensive doodad, they will probably not buy it. But if they knew that the doodad was worn by the Duke of Frabjous on the king's coronation day right before the Gala of Glob, that significantly increases the doodad's value even if it is physically no different than other doodads of the same type. Am I making any sense here?

  • Heck, comments on auctions would be nice: "notice that this Shrine Power for 1500 is only 1 use."

  • When I saw the title of this topic, I thought it was about a rating system for sellers and buyers (think Ebay).

Oh, what chaos will ensue if we could rate sellers and buyers.

  • Since there is no customization of objects allowed right now, this does not make any sense to me.  Now that repair and use status is available in the general information for auctions there is even less need for this.  A shovel is a shovel, and a focusing orb is a focusing orb.  No cute story would make me pay a higher price for the same thing.

I don't get the reason for rating buyers and sellers, either.  Since the auction is automatic, there is no way they can not deliver an item or not pay.  Quality is irrelevant since all objects of a type are the same.  What in the world is there to rate?
