Who works for Tiny Speck?

I would greatly appreciate a way to know exactly who does and who does not work for Tiny Speck in both the forums and in game.

In the forums I've noticed that some staff members are marked as staff and some are not. It's difficult to know if a reply is merely the supposition of another player or an actual answer from an employee of the company.

In game it is confusing for new players who have yet to memorize the dev's names. When conflicting suggestions are offered it would help new players to know which suggestion was offered by a player and which was offered by a dev.

Until the code supports this could we have a complete list here in the forums that we can refer other players to?

(Please don't refer me to the About page as it does not always list the avatar names of each of the employees.)

Thanks :)

  • These fine people: beta.glitch.com/about/

    And while you didn't want this link... if you click on the avatars you will get their glitch page which is their in-game name.

  • Generally, staff are marked when they post in these forums with a staff badge.

    On occasion, sometimes the staff badge doesn't show up on one of their posts, but this isn't frequent.

    You can count on if the bubble next to their post says Staff, then they work for Tiny Speck. ;-)

  • Looking at the about page, I think it is wonderful how varied the staff's characters are... No two are similar! What this done purposefully, I wonder?

  • Thanks for the explanation of the About page. I hadn't known that you could do that.

    Unfortunately there isn't a way to find out in reverse. So if a specific avatar is answering in game a new player cannot find out if they do or do not work for TS.

    This problem came up during the last test when there was a big chunk of time when there were no devs in the game and a few people started to answer new player's questions in purposefully odd ways.

    The only suggestion I could come up with when the new players asked me for help was to tell them that devs will never be insulted if a new players asks them if they do work for TS. Sadly that put the new players in a very uncomfortable position.

    I'm just trying to find a better solution than asking each and every time.

    It would be great if a staff member could list which avatars are indeed TS employees.

    thanks again :)

  • @Dandilion

    Didn't you look at the wiki page?  That has exactly the information you are asking for.

  • Oh, I see what you are saying. IN GAME there needs to be a way to easily identify who is staff and who isn't. I've often thought that would be handy as well. For instance, if staff messages in game were bold or red or something.

    Dandilion, I think it would be wonderful if you suggested this in the Ideas Forum.

  • Look for the sleepers at projects - LOL!  The three staff members who I see most often are Beefcake,  jdog and kevbob.

  • Indicating who works here in the game world is something we've been meaning to do for a while. I will make sure it is on some list :)

  • @WindBorn

    I did see the wiki page. But as it is player hosted and updated I don't feel comfortable putting the people who keep up that wonderful wiki for us all in the position of being the source for important official Tiny Speck info.

    @Stoot

    Thanks for adding it to the list.

    Even just an official post here in the Glitch forums would work.

    I've been asked this question more times than I can count by now.

    @everyone else

    Thanks again for all the helpful and kind answers from all of you here! You have all turned this into such a wonderful community :)
