The poor pigs in the mines

The poor pigs in the mines are always depressed, and it makes me sad.

When the pigs first showed up in the mines, I thought they'd been placed by a silly player (and that it was funny), but they seem to be in consistent places, and now I wonder if the devs put them there.

I don't know what keeps the pigs in more normal places in a good mood and ready for nibblin' action, and the pigs in the mines always in a sad mood and not ready for nibblin'. Is it all up to the players or does the environment play a role? I have tried feeding and petting the sad piggies, but it doesn't seem to help. Maybe in the future, I will conduct a piggy rescue, and relocate them to someplace more hospitable.

But. Why are they there? It seems cruel.

  • Just A guess, Mining seems more remote to me. You can lose energy and mood quickly with no way to top up unless your cooking up stuff or whiffing laughing gas [ well that's what I do lol] Maybe there just there for the energy/mood top up ? Over to someone who may no better?

  • Years ago I told those pigs what would happen if they skipped their homework and experimented with the no-no.

  • You can't nibble the pigs, Misha. Well, you can, but you get no meats, because the pigs are sad.

  • There was an organized movement to put animals in the mines, to brighten the place up, I suspect. I weaned a few pigs there myself. Then I felt bad for them and went back and brought them out.
Yes, I am fully aware of how insane the previous paragraph sounds.

  • I just pick them up and release them then feed them.

  • Maybe over time they can evolve rock-bashing forehead knobs and tusks that help with mining efforts. Um, plus droopy mustaches.
