Glitch Strategy's Guide to Home & Home Street Privacy

So judging by some recent forum discussions, there's been some confusion as to what is private and what's not private in your imaginary Home and Home Street (like items and non-friends getting in to houses).

I've just posted a Guide to Home & Home Street Privacy over at Glitch Strategy (oh oh, do you like the new design?!).

Hope you find it useful! :)

  • Nicely done. One thing I noticed was that you didn't mention that if someone drops a collector, etc. on a street and then leaves it can then only be picked up by the OWNER of that street. I can't imagine this would ever be much of an issue, but people might want to know.

  • Wonderful, Hburger! And the new design is great too.

I hope this web site is  part of the new tutorial being developed. Resources such Glitch Strategy offered at the get-go will greatly enhance the retention rate of newbies when the games goes live---imho.

  • Thanks for putting this together Hburger...should be quite helpful for those that are probably still confused over it.  Very clear and concise! :D

  • Great work! One tiny quibble: At the bottom it says, "Note: all information below is subject to change..." Surely this should read: "Note: all information above is subject to change..."

  • Great post, thank you!

I had been keeping up with the yard discussion and changes, but I was not aware cabinets have locks nowadays.

  • Inside your house, if you "drop", then others can pick up. If you "place", then I think they can't?

  • I have not invited people to my street but I have given keys to trusted Friends.  Until now I have removed names from my sign after returning from a visit.  Some of my Friends have requested I do this as well because of the bad behavior of a few players.

Now it seems that with the Magic Rock we are being encouraged to have visitors because it apparently ups the iMG we get from the Rocks.  We have a Rock in the back as well as the front which also encourages us to allow more people there and thus in our homes.  I have mixed feeling about this.  I don't want a lot of people on my street and I certainly don't want strangers in my house.  At the same time, I do want as much iMG as I can get.  My iMG shrinks daily as I try to purchase Brain and other cards that speed learning.  I also find it more difficult to leave my new house and long for the days when I could just step out of the Qtr onto a street - no fuss, no cost.

It may take me a while to figure out what to do.

  • @ Brib Annie  It does seem that the new IMG rewards from the Rock are the devs response to the privacy discussion. They clearly want to encourage us to share our public streets.

However, they are just encouraging us rather than forcing us and there are so many other ways to get IMG that I don't think this is anything to be concerned about if you don't want to participate.

(I don't think we get extra IMG for letting people in the back or in our house. Our house and backyard are intended to be private. The Rock only mentions visitors to our home (public) street.)

@Hburger Thanks for the amazing guide! This should make everything so much clearer.

  • Brib - I think we only have one rock - it seems to "fly" back and forth. When I go into the back yard, he floats down onto his rug and the same thing when I go onto my street. Plus, I'm only getting ONE iMG boost from him each game day and which one gives it to me just depends on where I am when it hits.
