Learning tree limitations?

Are there any plans to diversify the populace by placing limits on learning? Is that what the unlearning skills are hinting at? Are we going to be limited to like... one or two trees? Or a total number of skills?

Just curious. Have I missed an explanation of the unlearning skills elsewhere?

  • If you unlearn, the learning time for other skills will shorten.  That is the idea.  For example, Tele IV will take me 17+ days to learn.  If I could Unlearn, say Animal Husbandry, that would shorten the learning time for Tele IV and other skills.

Recently a change was made in the Skill learning so that you were penalized for learning more than 10 skills.  The more skills you know, the longer it takes to learn the next one.

Better Learning lessens those penalties.  Unlearning, when released, is supposed to allow you to 'unlearn' a skill so that it no longer counts towards the penalty time.

There has been no mention of closing off a skill tree entirely, only penalties for learning "too many" skills.

  • If you unlearn a skill that is a prerequsite for a more advanced skill, what will happen to the more advanced skill?

For example, Herdkeeping is a prerequiste for Remote Herdkeeping.

  • staff have already said that you cannot unlearn a skill that is a requirement for another skill that you have.

If you have Remote Herdkeeping, you won't be able to unlearn Herdkeeping.
