actually, NOT participating is much harder than participating, to judge from the number of responses. Which means I am out! Can I get a badge for "Minimal Flogging"--just two responses?
Nanookie you are so right! I went on when the discussion was only a third of the way down the second page, said my piece and told myself I would not look at it again. Now I have to hang my head and admit to you all that I am a rubbernecker : (
I will send myself to the penalty box for three minutes now and feel shame...
It really was like watching a train wreck, fascinating and disturbing all at once. Then finally the discussion got on track and I believe an informal marching band is being formed. I will be the pianist for the band once I figure out the appropriate dolly and harness system.
check instrumental music catalogs. school pianos are often equipped with dollies that make them easy to move, and marching bands have cute little trailering systems that work as hand carts.
one thing i KNOW i want for the band is big, shiny uniforms with puffy hats and a certain word embroidered across the front.
I've been refreshing the thread on my phone since yesterday! The horse was dead when it was brought in! In fact, I'm not even sure if it's a horse, it might just be a very lumpy towel! It's just a very impressively-long thread, to me. I'm curious to see if there's a way to find out exactly how many people replied in it.
I want an achievement for this too. Especially since my means of participation was inserting ridiculous mental imagery in the middle of my reply to see if anyone was actually reading the thread.
I'm proposing another new achievement, the Bury the Damned Horse Already badge. To get it, you must accept the Postal Sunday quest, in which you must post in every other thread but the evil undead one until it is firmly packed into the ground--or until the game opens on Monday, whichever happens first.
I think both participants and non-participants should each get a different badge. :) Then the thread will be memorialized in every single Glitch's achievement page. :)
Let's just settle this once and for all. Is the horse dead or is it not dead? Personally, I couldn't find a commonly agreed upon definition of a dead horse, so this is going to be a long and annoying thread.
I think it's a Schrödinger's Box kind of situation. ;P The horse is both dead and not dead because there is no way to open the thread and actually comprehend what is going on.
Yeah, I added a fair bit of violence to that tick as well. :l I feel pretty neutral towards it though. Mr. Dawgg has expressed his uncaringness for what is said in the thread, so I guess nobody is hurt.
@ Menoboo Though my contributions paled in comparison to yours, little Ms./Mr. One word posts to extend the thread to a new page. ;P
@DaveJohn, my contributions were admittedly self serving, and I have to tell you that if you post things in that format you don`t get to see any responses while you are doing it. If I had been able to see the requests to stop I would have stopped immediately, explained my actions and then continued merrily on. However, I bow my hat to those that interjected well thought out, intelligent posts. My posts do not belong or deserve to be in that category :)
I've actually been steadfastly avoiding the thread all along. I think I concluded before there was anything to conclude that this would be a tedious read, and even if I slogged through it I wouldn't say anything.
But I am some kind of glutton for punishment, so I'm pretty sure I'll wait until sometime after the next test starts, when I can safely bet it's at least a pretty bloated and sluggishly-moving tick, if not a tick fully deceased, and then read the all of it.
I'm pretty sure my judgment is bad.
BONUS: My god this song. This song. Why have you done this to me. I haven't listened to this in ages and now I'm playing it.
I'm afraid I contributed to keeping the tic undead. I thought I could wave my magic rhetorician's wand and turn a tic into a rational debate. Silly me. I must do penance.
I thought about posting something on that thread after reading through all 960 odd comments but really couldn't think of anything that would accurately sum up my amusement/incredulity/slight dismay, so decided not to. It's still going you know!
