I guess im the first to notice that there is now a brand new piece of furniture:
"The Note Pole"
It allows you to post notes on it so that no-one cane take the notes :P!
I wonder if we can flip them eventually? Because I like symmetry, so I kind of want one facing the right and the other facing the left on either side of my signpost.
This is one of my favorite updates so far. I never really liked the gnomes since it was tricksy to get them to repeat their phrases, so having something to secure a regular old Note is way awesome!
Stoot will it be possible later please to place the pole against a back wall, or to bring it to the front, at the moment I can only put my poles middle of my house :)
Oh. I heard about this in my Updates feed and was like, WOW rad! but they only hold one note. Whatever happened to ALL the many many requests for a bulletin board?? It makes NO sense to me why you'd make it only hold one note. That really sucks.
Edited to add ~ I've not been in-world in 3+ weeks, so I'm just going off what I'm reading here in the forums so please forgive me if I've misunderstood....
Auren, perhaps the bulletin board is still coming. (I hope!)
Here's how I'd do it: The note pole is for permanent directional notes posted by the street owner; the bulletin board would then be for community notes, posted by anybody.
Entering a street, you'd know at a glance that the note poles indicate things that the street owner wants you to know, and that the bulletin board is stuff that other people want the street owner to know.
I like them but obviously with one note their uses are limited. Will definitely come in handy for those on and using the resources routes. No more missing notes to worry about or gnomes that speak so fast and shut up before you get to see what they actually said!! Pesky gnomes!!!!
But you can have many different poles in your yard.
You can actually place the note in the most appropriate place. Like, "do not restore" next to a peat bog you want to change to a jellisac. And HRR instructions next to he appropriate resource.
This looks like it has all the functionality of a bulletin board, with more flexibility.
Haven't used them yet, but I like the idea we can put them in our house too...since I can't label my cabinets yet, I may be posting note poles to tell me what each one holds...especially for my friends...yea! no more notes on the floor...
ETA: Not listed in the Encyclopedia yet, that I could see...
This lets the gnomes go back to doing what they do best -- making witty comments at unpredictable times. Limiting each pole to one note makes it far more likely that the note will be read. I like this much more than a bulletin board on which anyone can post, creating a potential maintenance chore for the street owner.
Yeah, if we'd had bulletin boards the next thing you know it'd all be about griefing, and removing notes, and littering and privacy and whatall. This is clean & neat.
More complicated asynchronous communications and transactions will undoubtedly take place via Botler.
If those adorable butlers ever show up you won't need a bulletin board to leave messages or prezzies for the home owner, if our brief sneak peek was anything to go on.
I love having a way to post a small sign. Very helpful on the resource routes and first thing I'll be looking for.
