The wait is KILLING ME.

So... where do you guys go to while away the excruciatingly painful long hours when Glitch is closed?

Posted 17 months ago by lwllw Subscriber! | Permalink
  • Please please please please please open in 3 days Stoot.

You have a history of picking times when I'm not available, and once again, I won't be available this upcoming weekend!  I don't say 3 days because I need Glitch now, but because this upcoming weekend is my moving weekend as well as my 24th birthday!!!!!

Anyways, the sooner you open the more time I'll have to play!

  • ooooo probably.... one step up from soooooooonnn... :) :)

  • This is the first time I have played it for ages and I didn't realise I could access the forums - but in the past i have been playing other games - like Nord and Ravenswood Fair the latter just for about 30 mins cos- you  lose energy fast without having to spend - also time to get down to mundane tasks of housework that does not get a look in during game time ! I rather enjoyed this last session but that was because  I met up with friends and made new ones  who helped me - it would be great if we could still chat on line like that when the game was down - or can we - ? the same way the chats are done in game that is

  • Stoot, I'm off Weds-Fri, and I would be SO EXCITED if the three day prediction panned out.

    And if not, hey. Zen.

  • I have a job, school,  friends. Lots of other games to do. House needs a good vacuum which I am denying.

Seeing as I have gone months without the game I have learned tp do other things around the test.
Posted 17 months ago by Ani Laurel Subscriber! | Permalink
  • Same as Peterific. Full time work sure takes up a lot of your time. Though it doesn't really make the time go by faster, bleh. (And it doesn't help me not crave Glitch!) But at least there's something to do and you're making money while doing it :P

  • i am soooooooooo bored!! how long is it till next test???

  • GiaTori- stoot posted the details earlier, look above.

Well GlitchMash will help pass the time :D

  • Last break I played Terraria. This time I'm going to make a start on reading the A Song of Ice and Fire books.
Posted 17 months ago by Vordus Subscriber! | Permalink
  • @Vordus : Those are some awesome books!  I have them on my Kindle ... I loved them, so based on my reading experience I will only hope you love them as well!

Since this past test was my first experience, I'm sure I can wile away the hours ... I have my kindle, my 15 month old, my 10 year old, work, house work, oh and sleep.  Yup I think I've got the down time covered!

  • Oh, stoot, I love you! That's not bad at all:) Thanks for the little hint! @zetwal, at one point I created a group (The Glitchodone Clinic) for all of us who were going mad to go mad together. You're more than welcome, although we've been a bit less active in there since we get weekly tests usually now (a couple months ago, they were less frequent...ayiiieeee). But yeah, I work my palooka off at the job, try to get the chore type things done, hang out with the offspring, etc. And um...spend a bit to much time in the forums ;) Oh...and sleep. Lots of sleep to make up for the sleep I skip!

  • The progeny. Maybe they should indeed be tended to. Glad to know I'm not the only parent around.

But I think what I meant is other games / entertainment that can help fill the gap. I'm glad Glitch finally came around because I've been trying to get into gaming again, innovative adventure games seeming to have fallen off the map since titles like Grim Fandango or Abe's Oddyssey appeared 13,467 years ago. [LittleBigWorld always intrigued me, and is apparently an inspiration for Glitch, but never intrigued me enough to plunk down money for a PS3]

Poking around I found Machinarium and Samarost so let me go tinker with those...

  • Loving the book-reading suggestions.

I spent a good deal of this down-time rereading LeGuin's A Wizard of Earthsea trilogy. Next will probably be McKillip's Riddlemaster of Hed, because both trilogies make me cry in the same glorious way.

I haven't yet begun my attempt to climb Mt. SoI&F. Probably should wait until I don't have anything out from the local library, or when Glitch Downtime lasts longer than 3 days. (Not, you understand, that I'm complaining!)

  • @Vortexae I'm actually in the middle of book 3 of the Riddlemaster trilogy right now. XD Rereading after a very long time; so good!

  • Vortexae have you read the Dragon Riders of Pern by Ursula K. LeGuin? I am catching up on cleaning some odd areas like my desk in the office, I saw it a couple months ago. Rumor has it that is still in there LOL. But I keep getting drawn back to this PC to see if the game is up yet......open....open....open.....!!!
Posted 17 months ago by celticlady Subscriber! | Permalink
  • Dragon Riders of Pern was written by Anne McCaffrey. :)

  • Ok so Glitch will open on wednesday but does anyone have a specific time, or a really good guess??   No pressure just wondering when to ignore the rest of the world.

  • Ugh.. work :(   Then again, I've only taken 1 Sick Day this year :DD
Posted 17 months ago by Joni Mitchell Subscriber! | Permalink
  • Julie, I'm guessing noon Pacific, but I make no claims about how good that guess is!
Posted 17 months ago by larky lion Subscriber! | Permalink
  • CelticLadyOne - I read quite a bit of McCaffrey's Dragonriders series years and years ago and quite enjoyed them, but I find they haven't "aged well" for me. (Piers Anthony's Xanth  series is also in that category - loved it as a pre-teen, couldn't really enjoy it as an adult.) But I still cherish my copy of the Illustrated Dragonlovers' Guide to Pern, and one of these days I *will* try the recipe for baklava therein.

Another YA Fantasy classic I love to reread is Diana Wynne Jones's Chrestomanci series. I'm also fond of Howl's Moving Castle and will one day procure myself a copy of its sequels. (I loved the movie too, without ignoring that they tell two immensely different stories!)

  • At least you have the guts to make a good guess larky lion, high noon sounds good to me.  Oh Rascalmom I've been nominated to inform you that YES there is a rest of the world, goofers.  Take the week to celebrate your anniversary (xcept when game is open of course) show your hubby the nudey you.  :)

  • @The Robot Creator - I had a look at your site.  Your creations are absolutely wonderful!
Posted 17 months ago by Stormy Weather Subscriber! | Permalink
  • xoxJulie, hmmm, sounds a dicey nomination:) You know I was being silly, I hope! We do have plans...just that Hank has to work all week plus we are waiting on our paychecks to arrive, you see (re: like, you know, actually having a date wherein we get to take kiddo to a sitter and actually leave the house). We even are taking a whole two-day family trip Monday/Tuesday, wheeee! But in the meantime, as I am on staycation:), I am a) planning to Glitch of course and b) have been decluttering. Not exciting but must be done. Child had so many toys they were growing rowdy, demanding voting rights and such. I was merciless today...major purging. The remaining toys should have fear struck in their hearts! *gives them evil eye lest any of THEM get stroppy* Gads, my mind is gone, time to quit typing I see.... HUGS, Julie:)
