Sad pigs and the pig capture limit

Sooo on global today, some folks were lamenting the fact that pigs are often left in places where they don't have access to food.  The pigs get sad and hungry, but with the current limit on capturing one per street per, err, 46? game days, it's hard to move them without a lot of people getting together and doing it...and then they get dumped there again the next day by clueless or mean people.

My suggestion for a solution to this is for the capture of *unhappy* pigs to not count against that limit.  It would satisfy the problem of excessive pignapping of happy pigs while allowing tenderhearted people to rescue ones in need.

  • It is very, very sad to see piggies sufferring. There is a group called P.R.S. Piggy Relocation Service that prides itself on moving piggies to new homes.

  • Anyone trying to earn the Piggy Hash Slinger 1st Class achievement is going to have a lot of pigs to dump… since we can no longer sell them to vendors or donate at shrines there is no incentive to do anything other than just dump them all wherever.  There is no motivation to carry them around in search of a “good” place to put them, no benefit from spreading them out (and some potential comedy value from sticking them somewhere strange). So we end up with sad piggies.  It’s the inevitable consequence of not allowing pigs to be sold/donated.

Perhaps the good of the piggies.  The betterment of Ur.  Humanity.

A small touch of the impulse that makes other Glitchen drop everything, race across lands and rescue a piggy in need of a better home.  If some Glitchen are ready to do that, I would hope that MOST will walk a street or two to find a good home for one of the adorable beings they brought to life for the sake of a badge.

  • I hear what you are saying Kookaburra, but this is a game in which players complain if an object gets in the way of speed clicking while mining... if someone can't be bothered to slow down and pay attention to object interactions, what makes you think they will take the time to carefully place pigs?

  • I agree with no limits on capturing sad pigs. There are places where people obviously haven't just dumped pigs on the run but intentionally placed them where they can't escape and have no food. Nothing brings a happy game down than wandering across a group of sad pigs and only being able to rescue one of them.
