I may have to actually unlearn things. I think that buying the Brain Capacity cards won't put a dent in it since there is a limit on the amount you can gain by that, if I remember correctly.
It's 3 days 18 hours for me so half of that with donations, and I can start learning it at 7 tomorrow morning (local time). I have one brain capacity card to buy tonight, so that will bring my learning penalty down from 28% and make it even faster. Maybe I can be first at this one.
Some of the new potions are hilarious - "Embiggenifies. It is a perfectly cromulent word." - but there is going to be all sorts of mischief with the Transformation Fluid.
I like knowing everything too..I'm not un learning anything eva...My gardening skill started at 16 days so many hrs..I bought a few brain cards brought it to 14 day..X amount of hrs ..So tomorrow I will start donating and spend the favours.. maybe i'll have it in a week... who knows. That is providing I stop messing up on how much I am supposed to donate...its been so long ...since I had to do this..I messed up the two shrines I did attempt to donate to cap minus 1..there went all my yellow crumb seeds..LOL :-/
It's telling me I haven't met the requirements to learn these skills. Huh? I have all the other skills and exceed the required level. What's the problem?
...Figured it out and it is very uncool. It requires certain upgrade cards. I don't get these upgrade cards in my rotation. How are players going to be able to learn the new skills when we have to rely on the card rotation?
Let's be honest, it's not a random rotation. I get cooking, snapshot, and brain upgrade cards. None of those are of any use to me but I don't have any control over the card rotation. What can I do?

Possibly you don't have the particular upgrade cards in your rotation because they too require prerequisites, that you might not have?
