Discussion: Problem: Screen Scraping > API

I've been playing only a few weeks and have really gotten into Glitch. As a professional developer, I'd like to create some awesome tools using the API so to help everyone get the most out of the game.

There's currently a fairly critical problem with the API, though: it consistently provides far less information and functionality than the Glitch web pages.

Take a map application, for example: using the street API, an app can obtain the features and connections to other regular streets. Using screen scraping and http requests, though, we can also obtain residential connections (and by extension, the features on those streets), visit counts, last visit, set the destination, and even teleport to the location.

Similar limitations exist for auctions, achievements, item lists, etc.

Apps are already using screen scraping to provide end users this kind of extended functionality, so developers sticking to the API are currently at a disadvantage. Judging from the posts on this forum, several developers are holding back on creating apps due to these issues. Can Tiny Speck staff please provide us some guidance regarding:

* Is it permissible to use screen scraped data in our apps?
* Is it permissible to post HTTP data to set destinations, buy actions, etc?
* Are there plans to expand the API? If so, what's the general direction and timeframe?

Thanks!
