Is it possible to move in the new housing system?

I have a starter home in Groddle Meadow and I love it, but I miss having a dark patch. Can you build a cave in the new housing system? If you can't, can you move or are you stuck with what you picked before knowing better? I can't find anything in the encyclopedia of forums about this.

  • You get a customizable house. It's not like the old system. You can add stuff, move stuff around, remove stuff, expand, change your street style (like from Uralia to Groddle, etc).

Also... your starter home in Groddle Meadow is gone. Everybody got moved to the new system. You'll see it when you log in.

  • You can grow any kind of tree in either your yard or on your new street. Enjoy!

  • Next time you are in your house, take a look at decorate mode, there are various options for floor, wall & ceiling styles. When you are in your front yard if you click on your house you can flip it or customize it. If you talk to your magic rock in front or back yard you can expand the yard, cultivate it (add patches, rocks, peat bogs, etc) and change your front and back street style. Play around, try things out, you don't have to finalize anything if you just want to experiment. Visit other home streets to see how other peoples change their houses or yards.

  • However, an interesting addition to the house would be to "Build a basement". Could have cave entrances to other people's houses (like the signposts), or an option to go underground to a location in the world (like the teleportation skill).

  • No you can't move houses but houses are customizable so you can expand it and decorate your house at will. Also woo starcraft character.

  • Just to be sure it's clear - there's only one kind of tree patch for home streets, but any kind of tree will grow in it. Out in the world, egg plants still only grow in dark patches.

  • I'm pretty sure what you're calling Groddle Meadow is the background, which you can change by talking to your rock! There are a handful of styles that are free to everyone, and some more that are subscriber-only.

And as Zany said, you can grow an egg plant in any patches you have on your street/back yard now.

  • I think I have the same problem. Dark patch doesn't show in my cultivate mode. I've changed the home street style various times, to bog, cave or dark styles (yes, including the subscriber-only styles), and it doesn't show. Furthermore, in my Glitch home page (not profile page) my character is shown with some pine and tree and a butterfly, maybe because of the original "housing system".

Maybe we should contact a staff member and ask to resolve problem...

    Cheers,

  • You don't need dark patches, they all look the same but you can plant whatever you like

  • @Greenwood: When in Cultivate you will only see Patch. That patch will grow the Egg plant as well as the other trees.

The Street style you have is irrelevant to what you can grow. We can all have the same resources

That's the same or everyone, what you see on your homepage doesn't represent your street style
