Eleven Giants in whose minds we walk
I pray you, hear my words and guide my step.
Through your ambassador, the tutor rock,
You gave to me a most mysterious quest,
To search the world and See what can't be Seen,
To notice the Unnoticed seven times,
So set I out to cross all streets and seams
But only four so far have I seen shine!
And so I beg, your servant to the last,
To help me satisfy your will divine,
In your great power, imagination vast,
Would it not be too hard to send a sign?
My plea thus penned, request in measured lines,
I post this topic filled with hopeful rhymes.
----------------------------------------------------------
O giants working in mysterious ways!
I begged for guidance as I had no hope
And since then I have wandered many days
Through Slip and Summon, Stretch, Spur, Stack, and Slope.
Yet hope found me through other readers here
Who read and praised and rhymed back in reply,
And their encouragement lifted my fear
Convincing me to give it one more try.
And now today, as I again went round
And crossed off once again each listed street
Three ghosts appeared, as if drawn by the sound
Of my poor pleas, and thus came forth to meet!
And so I thank you all who steeled my will,
May all your hopes be equally fulfilled!
