allow friends to enter your house when you are offline

I would like to be able to go and water plants and feed the pigs for friends who are offline or on vacation.

Seems like a good way for folks to help to integrate the friends they have invited to the game.   Helps the new people see all the stuff that the more experienced players have.   It also would allow new players too give something back to people who are often giving them things.

  • That'd be nice, though I'd really like for there to be some degree of security in this, that way "friends" won't be able to get into your storage space or anything.

    But +1 for the idea.

  • I think this is a good idea with the exception that you should be able to choose exactly which friends you give a housekey to.  I like making lots of friends, but I wouldn't trust all of them to leave my baby animal collection on the floor where it belongs.

  • Hmmm, maybe a new kind of note or script, "housesitter," with an X-use limit.  It allows someone to enter your house, but all they can do is tend and harvest the backyard items.  Then all you have to do is trust them not to hogtie and steal all your pigs, or harvest the crops without leaving you some or even clearing the weeds.

  • We could craft keys with ingots and tinkertool :)

And I agree with Mereret. It should be either limited or easy to disallow.

  • Like the idea of having to craft keys...then you could hand out only as many as you chose to make, and it would be a higher level skill so that you knew what you were getting yourself into before doing it...
