Locking down front yard gardens

I am not one to do routes and know very well this is the design of front yard streets concerning the gardens. I leave notes not to take herbs but they get unnoticed ,some say well plant veggys and they wont take ,well that dose not work either they take because they like to take.To pay for a game that annoys me and help says we designed this that  way ,welllllllllllllll if other games can design a lock down for those that want it, like click to lock if you feel that need.  To edit this I did not say for all or for just me I sugest this as an idea to give us the choice to lock our own garden at front like back yard.you do what you want and those who like locked gardens will have the choice to do so.

  • This has been gone around over and over and over. TS have not gotten into the discussions that I've seen, which leads me to believe that it is functioning as intended. I have four herb and one veggie garden in my back yard, there's plenty of room back there for things you don't want to share.

  • It isn't fair to ask for removal of a feature just because you don't like it, particularly when TS has provided reasonable alternatives. Put your gardens in your back yard if you don't want to share them. Your back yard is completely private and you can fit six 15-plot gardens there, which should be plenty for anyone. Front yard gardens are intended to be public and a lot of us put them there to share herbs and crops with other players.

  • I'm not a fan of locking down things in the front yard, though I can understand why some people would be. I look at my front yard as being, akin, to the old street I was on. Anyone could come and do anything to it. But, now, I have special powers to be able to decide what sorts of things go there. If someone doesn't have the same view, I can see how they might want more control.

In the meantime, for those that really like herbs and want them in their front yard, perhaps they should join the herb route. From what I understand, those that follow the herb route are really good about helping to maintain the gardens. You won't get exactly what you planted, but it might make you just as happy to wake up to a surprising bounty of herbs every day.

  • Lucille PO did not say  lock down for everyone,Read slowly first before talking, They said maybe make a click on/ off for those that do not want their garden products touched.I agree I have left all gardens bare out front now because of this very act of those who dont care . I have many friends that feel the same way as the PO above.we know the Devs are not going to change this so we all grin and bear it.AND SUCK IT UP.

  • The front street is public the back is private. Gardens or otherwise don't put things in the front yard you don't want people to use, usually the only things people have had issues with are Gardens, Icons, Machines, Wood Trees, and Free Piles. Yes some of those are easier to remove than others when there are issues. Gardens its that people don't weed and replant, Icons that people that use them never Tithe, Machines people use but don't replace Fuel, Wood Trees need to be Fertillidusted, and Free Piles get looted. The end result is, the front yard is public the back is private, we get img from people using our items, if how people choose to use them bothers us, then it simply shouldn't be in the front yard. And yes this has been gone over many times and i do think its an intended game design

  • @Jelly Allowing front gardens to be locked would be even worse. Then you get an unpredictable mix of can/can't harvest. Why does anyone need more than six 15-plot private gardens?

  • Maybe Lucille some folks only play game because they get peace gardening.and this is a great relax for me.I have up to now enjoyed all aspects of game but find it very peaceful gardening both front and back.whatever floats ones boat.

  • Yes i realize people sometimes do things we don't like. But if gardens did lock it would easily get abused. If everyone could lock gardens for any reason, you'd end up with those people being at a huge advantage crop and herb wise from the rest of the playerbase. It may be for this reason alone that gardens don't lock, and aside from that keeping front streets public tends to make Glitchen play nicer, as were all in the same boat.  If that wasnt the case, im sure there would be a lot more aggrivation and arguing, because people would view it as favoritism and unfair to non-gardenrers if gardens could lock.

  • Maybe, Gassy Jack, some people only play the game because they enjoy the community and sharing aspect and find that relaxing, and don't like the idea of locked down front yards. Different people have different play styles, and yes, the possibility of locking down your front yard would affect the community/sharing aspect, because it's just encouraging people to put gardens in their yards and lock them down - why have other resources if people with locked yards will have an advantage?

Saying the game needs to change to suit your needs just because you're a paying user is pretty selfish. If you don't like how the game is being run, you shouldn't be paying. You're not entitled to special treatment just because you're a paid user. You already get perks for your money - waving your status as a paying user around isn't going to do you any favors. Going "do this or I'll stop paying" isn't going to do you any favors, either.

Well yes if you don't like a game don't play it.

And you don't have to pay either. Especially if all you want to do is garden.

  • I think the edited says it all .it was not to completely lock down all gardens it was a choice to be able to do so as in many other games.the choice for the user is always a good move on a games part.it tends to satsify everyone

  • Except we already have a choice.

Why are people so fingers-in-ears resistant to planting in their backyard?

  • How much are you gardening so that your back yard is not enough space for you?

  • Since YC was nerfed, nobody uses my gardens any more. Are you really seeing visitors since the nerf?
