Escape should cancel actions

When performing actions which aren't instant, the little red x button will cancel the action. Pressing escape should do the same thing, for those of us who prefer to play primarily with the keyboard.

  • Or, y'know, hitting "x" on your keyboard. :)

  • I suggested escape because it's in line with conventions used in other games. If it were x instead though, I wouldn't mind. I just want some way of doing it with the keyboard.

  • What Tsuki said :P

+1 to escape! Especially since it works for some things already.

  • I second that. Escape - or "x", I couldn't care less - should be the universal button to cancel actions and dismiss pesky popup messages like all those quests you're being offered when you log on. See http://www.glitch.com/forum/ideas/10662/

  • I like the idea of being able to cancel with either 'x' or 'esc' (slight preference for x, since I navigate with WASD).

I also wish that 'enter' would work on some of the dialogs where it currently doesn't.  After typing in the amounts on sales screens or recipe dialogs, I would like 'enter' to complete the action, rather than having to switch to the mouse and click.

  • Definitely up for this. Happens too many times to me too where I would press Esc and expect something. "Esc" would definitely be my preferred choice though. X would actually be difficult for me to press when using WASD. And we've kind of been accustomed all this while to use Esc as the default to exit stuff.
