Jail system

I think they should make a law and consequences system..like walking by an officer while buzzed from drinking beer will make u have to spend time in jail or pay a fine..being caught with no no powder etc..

  • Maybe one of the quests can have the consequence of getting you to jail if you fail it. It adds a risk factor and may affect whether people will accept the quest or not.

The idea of being caught due to the possession of no-no powder sounds interesting too. Imagine a bureaucrat walking into a street causing all the "no-no carrying" glitches running in the opposite direction.

  • While I understand the idea and think it is a cute and fun idea, I don't necessarily think it's a good one for the game. Please allow me to offer a counterpoint...

Reason: A game is only as good as long as you're playing it. Once you're in jail, how long is your time? What becomes the cost of leaving? Is it currants? Can we barter to get out?  What if you're a serial no no offender? You'll spend your time in Hell and in jail. At that point it becomes an exercise in frustration and frankly, I'd quit after the first 10 times probably. (Not the no no, lol)

Reason: Part of the game is to be able to let loose in a fun environment to experiment. I don't drink beer irl... ever. But in the world of Ur, I'm free to guzzle till my heart's content. I would not like the real world constraints put on me in an imaginary world. The point is the freedom.

    My humble two currants.

  • I think it would depend on how it was implemented. Hell itself is a penalty for getting your energy level to zero but here in Glitch, it doesn't really feel like a penalty. At most, it feels like another street that you can only access if a special condition is met. And I've seen several threads asking for items that will get you to hell even quicker. I believe jail can be implemented in a similar fashion --- something that doesn't feel like it's a penalty, but more of a new street to experience.

I posted this idea (slightly different) and got zero replies... whatever.
I think maybe a "rob"  option, like something difficult to rob other glitches (and probably not get very big rewards but...anyway...)

  • Well, just an idea... If you get in jail, like with Hell where you gotta stomp grapes, in jail, you have to mine rocks. Just a thought.

  • I like this idea, but only if it's implemented to be more fun than penalizing.
ie.  Say it's a rare thing..
and once in jail, you have options:

1)Tending x number of jail-only trees- such as birch, or olive- and getting a couple birch syrup/olive oil to take out with you
    2) Tending y number of jail-only crops, getting a few when you're freed

3)you can approach a 'shady looking fellow' which starts the 'Escape to Freedom' quest

    4) there's a super rare quest that involves the FBUR hiring you to be an 'inside glitch' on a conspiracy in UR, with the knowledge that you'll be contacted later on to provide your services for them in exchange for an early freedom.

  • Yuh, I'm thinking that this could work out if it was part of a quest. I can imagine the whole [Eesti Life Catalog Page 17] in a jail-like setting, where the dust bunny is an inmate who wants the key to his cell (shiny object with no intrinsic value) so he can escape.

Or probably jail is a hidden room in the Bureaucratic Hall, where the bureaucrats put you in if you keep disregarding their "please wait in line" rule. However, the jail has a gaping hole at the far end, where you jump in and end up in a random subway station. The jail also has a number of jail cells in it which look like they can be unlocked by certain keys. The jail also has a door labelled "Interrogation Room" which is always closed.
