Here's a rough draft of my latest Glitch-based science.
My methods are sloppy and my conclusions are suspect.
A Glitchen Sleep Study: The Economic Advantages of Idling in Glitch
Hypothesis: Idling is economically advantageous to the glitch player over logging out because friendly glitches like to put things in sleeping glitches pockets.
Conclusion
After about a half- game-day of Testing (the 15th of Remember in Year 20) research would indicate that idling is not a profitable endeavor.
Of note, only one player appeared to have interacted with the player as indicated by the Local Chat / Activity Log during the period when then glitch was idling at the defined point of origin, and in that case, the interaction was not of a type that could be converted to currants for valuation.
Specifically, Diablo played "Musicblock GNG" for the idling glitch while both were in the "Hell" region. There is no monetary reward for listening to another player's music block. The activity log indicates the non-monetary reward (increased mood) is negated due to it occurring in Hell.
Note: One player interaction occurred outside of the point of origin, and was, also, without monetary reward. In this case, however, the interaction released in increased energy being accumulated.
