"X amount of minutes left in the game"

When you are in-game, you can click on the game time, and it will tell you how many real life minutes are left of game time.

From outside the game, it tells you the game time BUT it doesn't give RL minutes left. As it is, where it says "game time" it is rounded to the previous hour. Right now my screen says game time 10pm, but when i mouse over it it says 10:51pm. It would be hella helpful if the real life minutes left was displayed on mouseover, and the game time listed was the actual game time and not rounded to the previous hour.

I am currently working on the badges that require you to max out your quoins every game day that you log in. This means if I'm unsure of how long I have left in the game day, or if the time is too short, I shouldn't log in.

  • The servers are within a few seconds of NIST time. If you sync your desktop / laptop time with us.pool.ntp.org you are good to go.

Also, you can use UTC -1 (or any 4 hour offset thereof, e.g. Central [USA] Daylight Time) to get new day at 12, 4 and 8. You might consider bookmarking the NIST time display for CDT (and switch to EST when the US switches back to standard time)

  • Just to clarify - this is a good idea, I was just trying to provide an immediate workaround!

  • Thanks. I just deleted my response because i was trying to be playfully snarky about my own laziness, but it just came off as bitchy. Hopefully you didn't even see it before i deleted it. :-D

  • Sorry, I don't support. Game time somehow gives a more... not realistic, but Ur-listic feeling of Ur being an actual world. I was actually very shocked when I found that the calendar in game showed real life time.

You can pretty easily figure out how long you have, if you figure out a bit about real life to game time conversions. Game time is 6 times faster than real time. One hour is 6 game hours, or a quarter of a day. A game day is 4 hours, and there are 6 game days in a day. Game days are at 1, 5, and 9 (daylight savings) and 12, 4, and 8 (normal nondaylight savings).

  • Game days are at 1, 5, and 9 (daylight savings) only if you live in the Eastern  Daylight timezone (and the one 180 degrees around the globe from there).

But the basic idea is useful:  There are only 3 times a day that gameday starts and ends in your time zone.  Once you figure out 1 of those, you know all of the other times.
