I read through the whole 3 pages of this thread. Now for a chance to weigh in myself ...ahem ...nervously chooses words.:) What really strikes me about this thread is the side taking and name calling .Where do you stand? Do you /don't you have a stick ...Are you happy ..jealous etc. Personally I think that every person has a right to discourse and being able to say how they feel about the situation. If people are mad and you are not let them be mad. If people are posting thank you threads and are happy they also have the right to do that and feel the way they want.
Alot of people are posting on the fact that this is a game and it is just an imaginary item in an imaginary world.Others saying life is not fair . Both things are true :) But many people play these games because there is a certain levelled playing field that occurs...we can look the way we choose ...do the things we want ....and actually get ahead with hard work. So often this is not the case in the real world.Maybe this is why some people feel that not having a chance to buy or aquire a stick is unfair.... and others believe that there should be compensation for the lost items bug.But when it comes down to it we should all have the right to say how we feel . This is just my opinion ...not trying to place words in anyones mouth except my own :) I love glitch and wish you all many happy days. Posts and prepares for the onslaught lol
What a great community game this is... known for the community spirit most of the players showcase... a game where from the top down the creators and staff have pushed the "cooperative play is more rewarding than solo play" mantra...
What a great spirit there is to be seen in Glitch!
Just don't be one of the evil people who posts a dissenting opinion in the forums.
To all of those people who think that a stick-holder has gotten an advantage - Do you know what the stack size is for fiber? 999 per slot. Which means that to fill a slot, and assuming that a person is playing all six game days per day (seemingly impossible) - you would have to play 165+ real life days to fill one bag slot. Hardly an advantage.
No doubt, TS will be giving everyone a resource from which they can get copious amounts of fiber in the future - be it the sloth or fox, or some new type of plant. But, no one is going to be able to get all of the fiber they will need from their stick.
@Windborn - I can understand your opinion and respect your right to have it. I even agree with you about much of what you said.
So, do you think those affected by this bug warranted a special recognition because of the fact that a large number of them got hit? Or because it was a particularly nasty bug? Or was it only because some of them lost some things, such as notes, that could not be replaced? If it was a smaller group that lost use of the game for a longer amount of time would that be the same thing, or did all of the factors have to occur?
I don't think the EXISTENCE of exclusive items makes the game unfair. I think that it is possible for exclusive items to be distributed in an unfair manner. As far as the SB-1 goes and believing in the basic fairness of staff...I would have to believe in the basic fairness of all people. And while most people are basically good, my life experience has shown me that there are also people who are not so nice and they can be anywhere. I think human nature is a funny thing and fairness may or may not be a part of any given person's make-up. Just to be clear though, I really hope you're right about the staff. I just don't assume it.
"@Crashtestpilot - Well, people with sticks are, as (bizarrely) stated elsewhere, part of a new Glitch uberclass... because of all the class-warfare subplots inherent in Glitch. "

Really Djabriil? Can you please give us a direct quote or a link to the post to which you refer? Because I can't find any such statement. Or are you just trying to stir up trouble? If that's what gets you off...
Edited to add, after the fact: Louis Louisson: "For those people who don't find anything annoying in the fact that TS is giving out funny little items, your questions about "which factors have to occur" are irrelevant. They are questions being posed by somebody who feels offended on the grounds of "non-equality" and tries to set up regulations to prevent further inequality. (Or in this case: Tries to prove that, no matter what those regulations would be, there STILL would be a certain matter of injustness - do I understand you correct?)."
Again, you are telling ME how I feel. You don't know and for the record you are wrong. If you read ALL of my posts, you might have a chance of understanding, but only if you stop looking for ways to support your own bias. I was having a DIALOG with Windborn. We were trying to understand what we each were thinking. Asking questions is an age old, effective means of understanding another person. You have have heard of a dude named Socrates? Not exactly the same thing, but similar. She asked me questions about what I was thinking, I asked her questions about what she was thinking.
And congratulations on your so-called "non-agressive" to me post. It was so "non-aggressive" that it got the thread locked. I know you will likely never read this, in fact, most likely nobody will read it. Still, I felt like getting it off my chest. Getting a little sick of being censored.
"Writing it all again it still sounds childish and stupid but... It just doesn't sit right with me. TS has created an elite class of STICK HOLDERS, who are differentiated and special for nothing they did, just a characteristic (being affected by a bug) that they had no influence over. Bogus."

Audaria: So, do you think those affected by this bug warranted a special recognition because of the fact that a large number of them got hit? Or because it was a particularly nasty bug? Or was it only because some of them lost some things, such as notes, that could not be replaced? If it was a smaller group that lost use of the game for a longer amount of time would that be the same thing, or did all of the factors have to occur?
None of the factors would have to occur, in my opinion.
TS wanted to be nice, they gave out a little funny item that (as I stated already) in the end benefits everybody (if I understand the use of it correctly; I don't own one and never saw one in action, as of yet).
I guess, as Windborn mentioned, one decisive factor here might have simply been that it was relatively easy to identify everybody who was affected. In other cases, a distribution like that might easily lead to the kind of quarrel where people protest for not getting anything because they did not file any report. This would be, of course and rather ironically, a simply formalistic reason for the Dust Stick to be handed out.
In the end, the whole discussion is going in circles, because two sides are standing on completely different platforms. There is one side, who obviously cares (like you, Audaria; and I withdraw my former conclusion that you are "jealous" to simply state: "you care"), and there is another side, who does not care, at least not about the item itself.
For those people who don't find anything annoying in the fact that TS is giving out funny little items, your questions about "which factors have to occur" are irrelevant. They are questions being posed by somebody who feels offended on the grounds of "non-equality" and tries to set up regulations to prevent further inequality. (Or in this case: Tries to prove that, no matter what those regulations would be, there STILL would be a certain matter of injustness - do I understand you correct?).
For all those who just think of the Dust Stick as a nice new idea, there is no need to discuss those regulations, or ground rules, and there is no real need to discuss which factors would be "just" or "injust".
That's the point where both sides probably will not come together.
The big problem in this is (in my opinion) that both sides automatically feel "challenged" by the other side, because the "problem" for each side is seen by the other side as kind of a "challenge to the core of the game spirit". For you, the game spirit is violated by some kind of "randomness in distribution" and "fairness of the developers". For people like me, the game spirit is violated by people turning a harmless, funny and generous idea into a symbol of injustice and a heated discussion. (Again; I really try to be objective here; my intent is not to attack you but to try to explain you why, during this whole discussions, people get more and more aggressive, the more they realize that the other side does not seem to understand them.)
Made extra-classy by that last phrase. Try reading before making ad hominems simply because somebody disagrees with you. Which, I might add, I haven't done to you, no matter what conclusion you've jumped to.
Ok, this is heading to the brink and is going round and round at this time, and at the risk of tumbling over, we're going to close this topic at this time.
