Travelling.. A bad first home choice?

I'm new to the game and recently purchased a place in Petrif Willow.. I'm wondering if this is a bad place to live? Admittedly I bought it because I was new and it was all I could afford but it seems so hard to travel to places. There is no near by subway. I believe we get teleportation tokens but I see no way of using them?  Most of my quests seem to be in early zones that would take me forever to run to, or even a long time to run to the nearest place with a subway!.

I've probably gone about this all the wrong way but any advice on travelling back and forth would be much valued!

  • Hi Ithfifi!  Don't worry about your purchase.  You can always sell your home for 80% of what you paid and buy another one.  Your teleportation tokens can be used by clicking on a street on the map and it will give you the option of teleporting using one of your tokens.  I generally prefer to buy homes very close to the subway and rarely use teleport tokens.  I like to walk and take the train.  But everyone is different!

I would suggest that you keep your home for the time being and get to know the areas and game a little better and then look at the realty page, and the map and really take time to think about where you'd like to live.

When I first started playing, I just bought the first home I saw for sale while walking around once I had the money to buy one!  I was lucky it was on the street that a subway station was located on, but I had no idea about the realty page or anything.

You can also try to make friends with your neighbors and maybe hitch a ride with them sometimes via teleport in the mean time.

    Have fun!!  :-D

  • After the post-beta reset I bought a treehouse up at the end of the world in Aratikaya Kaya. It is a bit of a hike since there's not yet any subway service, so I haven't been going home all that often, but there's something to be said for living on the frontier.

I am saving up to move back to Sakinalu Shreds, where I was living towards the end of beta. It's near the subway and the ancestral lands; there's a race ticket machine nearby; and it's also right near the seam street Plexus. Though the subway will likely have stops in Andra and Besara eventually, making a home there fairly convenient as well.

(If there were houses on Krios Palm I'd buy and stay, I love the look of the street, at the continental divide between the forest and the plains.)

  • You can learn teleportation and set the point to your house. The crops take a while to grow and with remote herd keeping you can automatize the nibbling and milking, so there's no need to go often to your house.

  • Meh, it's an interesting neighborhood. Lot's of parties going on late at night and pickles screaming at odd hours for no apparent reason. Likewise, though the neighbors are fun and outgoing, they tend to let their piggies plop where ever and don't pick up after them.

  • "You can learn teleportation and set the point to your house."

This is one of my "essentials". No matter how far I wander, home is just a teleport away.

  • Yeah, although it's not a directly powerful skill, i think you'll find most expwrienced players hop onto teleportation 3 asap. Tp 4 is also wonderful. I recommend, at the least, a tp spot at home and one at a tool vendor...
