Unable to reach game server

I've just joined up and I can't even get into the game. When I click on 'Enter the world' it comes up with the lovely loading planet page and then says "We're having trouble reaching the server, try again", and then a moment later says "Well I'm sorry but we're unable to reach the game server".
I've tried reloading the game, reloading the browser and restarting computer. I've used Firefox and Chrome. My husband has his own account and uses the same wireless connection as me and can play the game fine. I've even tried using his laptop.
What could be going wrong? I'm tearing my hair out I really wanna play!!

  • I'm getting the same message at work all week but can access fine from home:
    "Well, I'm Sorry, but we're unable to reach the game server. This might be our fault or it may be a network problem this incident has been logged and you can try reloading if you like"

  • I have had this on and off since the reset. I get disconnected from the server after about two actions. I even had staff there and she did not even see me get disconnected.

  • I installed the developer flash hoping that it will assist with logging.
    Work is slow today and i'd love to be mining.

  • I'm not getting the "we're having trouble reaching the server" message, but I've also been hung up on the loading screen and unable to enter the world. Like Ava, I've also tried reloading the game and restarting Chrome and my computer.

  • Might your antivirus or firewall be blocking you? Or some other type of blocker software?

  • No AV / Firewall.
    A Staff member said he saw me idling in the game.
    My uneducated guess is the login is received on the server side but my client inst getting it's response.
    Something like this would explain why It appeared that I was logged in with the above message.

    I'll keep trying, Tuesday - Friday 9am-5pm EST.

  • Did any of you get this issue resolved? I'm logging in from work as well and experiencing the exact same issue with the same message as @Gimp. I've tried three different browsers (IE 7, Chrome, and Firefox) and none of them will work. Of course, we have a proxy here so that might be the issue on my side. I use the same antivirus at work though that I have at the house, so I'm pretty sure that's not it.

  • Nope. Still can't get in. I have two tickets pending reply and am sadly considering dumping the game altogether. :( It loads without any trouble at my office, but not at home. At least not 99% of the time - I've slipped in once or twice, only to be kicked off again as soon as I switch zones.

  • We are working on an automated connection test page (actually an upgraded version of our existing one) that will try to give you a much better idea on why you can't load the game. It's not ready yet, but it is coming soon. For those with tickets in queue, we have not been able to get to all of them yet, but will- apologies.
