Changes to resource cultivation and restoration

Attention all cultivation connoisseurs and recreational restorers! We've made some changes to the way you cultivate and restore resources and thought you might want to know:

• The iMG cost to "cultivate" items has been increased (this is what it costs when you first create them).

• The number of items needed for the projects to restore cultivated items when they are depleted has been reduced.

• The kind of items needed for those same projects have been simplified a bit.

• All contributors to a restoration project will get an iMG reward.

• Each time a cultivated item is restored, both its lifespan and the iMG rewards for restoring it the next time go up a bit (to a maximum of twice the original value).

Note: any projects that were already in progress when this change was deployed may be borked. If you have a borked project and reloading does not fix it, you'll need some wine of the dead to clean it up.

  • " but I kind of wish there was some level of randomness to the items you need to add. It's the scavenger hunt aspect of the thing that makes it exciting"

I'd second that. A little lack of predictability can be a good thing!

  • Another vote for scavenger hunt restoration projects.

Not that I want to encourage hoarding, or anything.

  • ooh +1 to Otto  Otto! It seems like it should be possible to make restoration of the same resource cost roughly the same amount every time but still vary the specifics -- so a particular garden might require a little less peat but also need some loam, etc.

  • I wish we got a bit more img for the restorations. I think it would really encourage folks to help restore others' resources (thinking of the routes) if there was a decent reward for doing it. I rather like doing that but it's sort of a let down to contribute all that stuff and then get 150i for it.

It wouldn't need to be a lot more, just enough to encourage team work :)

  • All these updates are nice to come back to after a few days! I think my favorite tweak here is the raised iMG cost to cultivate, as I think it'll make cultivation more of something to work toward. Yay!

  • I don't like the order in which I initially placed things in my backyard, but I guess I don't want to move them enough to remove them all just to re-cultivate. They are all at project stage.  But before the img prices went up, I had definitely been planning a redo once everything was used up.  So I still hope that someday we can please move things, especially if we have put time and effort into upgrading things multiple times.

I do like the idea that we get IMG from the restoring (even if it isn't much compared to the effort) and that the lifespan goes up.  It will definitely make me think harder about what I want to put down.  I only have 3 items each in my yard and street so far (and I am not thrilled with the way I ended up placing things in the street either).

  • Has anyone verified that the lifespan is longer?  Because I restored three things last night, and I could swear both the jellisac mound and the garden are losing lifespan much FASTER than they did previously.  They are certainly do NOT seem to have a longer lifespan.
