  • ...and sell it to the tool vendor at either Cebarkul or Level 4 East. They pay the most.

You can also sell off your music blocks; you'll get the set completion badge even if you do not currently have all the blocks in your inventory.

  • Tonya: that is not always true. I got two trophies without the blocks in my inventory but the third i had to hold them all. Better to keep them until you have the trophy.

  • Nibble meat, you can make 2 currants more for each meat, than one sparkly. It starts to pay off when you get the animal skills.

  • Sell it to any vendor except the mining ones.
    It's 6c a piece.

  • Why would you do that? lol

  • Get Gardening 5 and Animal Kinship 7, then wander through the Groddles, harvesting everything you pass. I make more that way than I do mining.

  • yep, my income drops drastically when i stop harvesting to mine.

and yes, i have mining 4.

the awesome thing about harvesting for income is that your mood stays up without drinks and you can always eat what you harvest.

no matter what you do, you can't eat gems and they don't help your mood.

  • You can sell almost anything, either to vendors or through auction.

Mine Sparkly, Beryl, Metal, or Dullite. each has a different currant value, but all are good for making money, especially if you're a lower level character. At higher levels, they can be processed and sold as different goods. Don't worry about sparkly too much. the larger deposits are generally better accessed when you level up some more. Beryl is second most profitable in raw form and it was easy to bank several tens of thousands of currants even when I was below level 10 by mining and selling to vendors.

Pick cherries, beans and or bubbles and sell to vendor or through auction.

If you learn croppery/herbal, (and own a house) you can grow veggies or herbs depending on where you buy your house. Again, vendor or auction (or use them to make other things)

Make and sell food, powders, drinks....All is pretty easy "money"

  • You're level 8. Patience is a good strategy. You're gonna be a bit strapped for the moment, but level up (donate to shrines), and collect the cash bonus each time you level.

Any skill investment will result in a high yield, provided you focus on that skill path. For instance, if you like harvesting from trees, invest in those associated skills. Harvest the crap out of stuff, and sell on the AH or to tool vendors. Easy, easy money. Likewise, mining becomes WAY more profitable when you have both the skills and the energy to throw in it.

The truth is, there's no one path, and even if there was, one path is boring. Whatever you like doing is worth investing in, because at higher levels (both of learning and game level), it will be profitable.

  • Actually, any  vendor will pay the same amount for sparkly that the Tool Vendors do.  They all pay 6c per rock.

  • what's the general consensus on processing rocks? i've found that it's not worth it because it's a massive time-sink between the smelting and crushing and the fact that you can only make one tool or powder at a time which is really frustrating with it's tediousness.

  • processing rock makes sense for EHSP and startling fecundity.

i never sell those, but use them.

i always smelt metal before selling.

someone will probably come along and tell me i'm doing it all wrong, but meh, i'm rich enough.

  • I've found Tool/Mining vendors pay 5c and Hardware vendors pay 6c each for sparkly.
Tonya (2nd response, above) mentions particular (tool) vendors pay higher amounts in certain locations than others- I'd have to look into that to see if I'd agree.
In my experience, the Hardware dudes pay the most.

  • Heck, the gardening vendor outside my house pays 6c for sparkly. It is not just tool vendors. lol I mine then go to the vendor outside my house. Most pay 6c, Helga doesnt, lol

  • The tool vendor in Cebarkul or Level 4 East is worth the detour only if the value of the item is at least 9 currants.

You can sell to the tool vendor for 80% of the value while any other store will sell for 70% of the value.

Sale value = round(item value * 0.7) for any vendor
Sale value = round(item value * 0.8) for the two tool vendors

So meat will sell for 8 at the tool vendor but 7 anywhere else.

  • Only "Mining Vendors" and TOY vendors (!) pay less than 6c for sparkly.  It hurts my heart when glitches teleport from Pollokoo to Iimenskie to sell their sparkly to the tool vendor, when the grocery vendor on the next block would match that price.

@airplay, there are only two "Tool Vendors" in the game, both on Uralia, and they do pay a higher % for items in general - but as noted by BTS0x0, because of rounding off there is no premium there for sparkly.

  • Keep in mind that after you've bought a house and tools, and learned all of the skills, the only things to spend large amounts of money on are cubimals, street projects (which are on hiatus for a bit), and party packs.  The game isn't really about money.
Posted 13 months ago by glum pudding Subscriber! | Permalink
  • It's not really about money until you're addicted to cubimals, desperate for one more box, and you find yourself staring hungrily at the toy vendor, a tiny fleck of drool at the corner of your mouth, a little twitch at the outside of one eye, telling yourself that you'll have the money tomorrow, you have to have the money tomorrow...

    *ahem* Sorry.

shexycorin: You don't really *make* monkeys.  We're just imagined this way!

  • Making Money Mining:
If you mine for sparkly only, you can sell to any vendor except the Toy vendor. Each will give you 6 currants. This is because 8x.7= 5.6, rounded to 6. 8x.8= 6.4, rounded to 6.
If you mine for both beryl and sparkly, it makes sense to take your haul to the tool vendors. The sell price of beryl at an average vendor is 6x.7 = 4.2, rounded to 4. But each beryl will give you 5 currants at the tool vendor (6x.8=4.8, rounded to 5), making it almost as profitable as sparkly. And since people seem to pass by beryl, I feel like I get more beryl more easily, making it a better way to make money. At Mining IV, you also get tons of gemstones. These are much better sold at the tool vendor (or donated).
I like to have a teleport point set to Level 4 East in Ilmenskie Caverns. There is a tool vendor there and many beryl rocks that people pass by on that and the surrounding streets. For a quick boost of currants, it can't be beat.
Making money off of pigs is great, but sometimes I'm too lazy to deal with the fact that "nibble" isn't the default option upon piggie selection. Mining is a bunch of pushing enter, which is sometimes more relaxing for me. It's like zen mining, I guess.
