A whole bunch of Ideas!

I got these ideas last night before fading away into sleep, hope you guys like them:

~~~Treasure Hunting~~~
Sure, the fun of adventure is quite awesome right now in Glitch, but what if we had Treasure Hunts to spice things up? I thought up about it a lot and here's how it would go:
First we would be doing what we know best such as petting a pig, watering a tree etc...when suddenly we get an extra item in our inventory; a small piece of paper called "strange paper" (I'm so awesome at naming stuff)...with this, we would need to go to a certain NPC somewhere on the game and present the item...after a bit of chit-chat he/she would give us an Adventurer Scroll in order to collect all the pieces of "x" number of treasures there might be on the game and the ability to learn a new secret Skill: Treasure Hunting. Which would make use of tools such as a magnifying glass or a crystal talisman that would react whenever we are close to another map piece or the treasure itself when you collect all the pieces.
Ok, that part is covered up, but then I thought of something else...You are done with finding all the parts of the map, awesome. Now you have to go to the spot that marks where the treasure lies...the 3rd branch to the left from the 5th tree on this street. So you walk up to the spot and see the your talisman is tingling, here is when you take out the map and select the option "Reveal" and FWOOOMM!!! You are sucked by a wormhole to a gap between dimensions! :D
It makes so much sense if it was this weird because I don't think the world of Glitch was perfect from the very beginning, (the creation of the postal service is a great example) and so this gap is where all the scraps and mistakes from the 11 giants are left...hahaha, sounds cool huh? Then when you arrive to the gap between dimensions you would have to complete a certain mission such as climbing up a large tree before time runs out, collecting a certain number of coins, etc.
Oh, and the treasures wouldn't happen to be special, rare, oddities...they could also be small stuff in bunches like 50 smoothies, 40 fruits and 60 buns. Experience and medals could be great treasures as well.
The Adventurer Scroll would also be updated with chapters each time we collect a treasure, it would tell us a story about the experiences of the adventurer who scattered all these treasures before everything was gone.
~~~Stray Pets~~~
Pigs, chickens and butterflies everywhere...they are all just so much fun to pet and feed...but I can't help but wonder: Who owns them?

Surely there must be someone, somewhere out there who misses to cuddle up with his piggy before bed or someone who is missing a butterfly from their collection in a special environment for butterflies.

~~~Vaults and Inversions~~~
Banks never fail to be existent on most mmorpgs...sometimes when we feel like we have way too much junk with us we will need to leave some of that stuff somewhere.
I don't know if it is possible to leave stuff at the house of your Glitch (or leave them with a vendor) since I don't have one, but if it is, then I'm probably looking like a goof at the moment.
Inversions would be just sublime...Glitch wants to leave players do whatever they want to have fun by themselves, right? What if there is someone who doesn't want to spend so much time and hardships to get a certain number of currants? Because I know there are people out there who would love this idea...don't deny it.
Just go up to the bank, open an inversion account, leave your money and come back whenever it is possible to take the profit. Simple as pie.
~~~Activity Books~~~
These would be something that you buy from a librarian or someone similar who would sell books to read at your home or at a relaxation spot somewhere in the world.

It would work in two different ways:

Manual: You open the book and complete the puzzles on each page as how you would actually do in real life. They would be different exercises such as small tales with questions on the following page so that you would answer them according to the story, connect the dots, etc.

Automatic: whenever you are afk leaving your glitch at a relaxation spot or at home, the glitch would open the book on his/her own and complete it without help.

Why like this?

Well, your Glitch is a being who is able to think, learn and imagine, right? Then why don't you teach him/her what YOU know? You can teach him/her how to complete the books. After you finish a book you would have to go to the NPC who sold you said book and grade it...after that, your Glitch would acquire I.Q. points...this way, the more I.Q. points your Glitch has, the more likely it is for your Glitch to have a better grade whenever you leave him/her on an afk zone...

afk zone...why didn't I think of that before? Perhaps your house and those relaxation points I mentioned before would be afk zones

By the way, once you submit the result on a page of the book there will be no turning back if you notice you had made a mistake, that is why if you leave your Glitch with a book for a higher I.Q. that which your Glitch currently has and fills it up with derpy ponies and rainbowy sheeps, you will be pretty much screwed because THAT'S gonna be part of the final grade, no exceptions.

~~~Spoiled Food/Beverages, Mistakes~~~
The Glitchen can cook and blend smoothies right? I don't think they are just perfect every time they make them...This is where the Mistakes enter!
Mistakes would be weird dishes that would make our Glitch react weird when consumed regardless of how much benefit they make to our Glitch.
We would suddenly read everything in gibberish, the controls would be reversed and the Glitch would move randomly as if he/she was dizzy...and then we would go to hell because food poisoning...
Spoiled food would be pretty much the same...but beverages...ohhhh beverages, I have a great idea for them.
We are blending a smoothie but oops! The Glitch has accidentally dropped another item into the blend! And thus is born the Radioactive Coconut-Pineapple Smoothie!
Beverages would be different from food because they would give us super powers...
Yes...superpowers, dude.
We would be able to jump very high for a certain amount of time, run very fast (or very slow), multitask, decrease the amount of time of waiting for something and even teleport...hur, hur, hur.
So yeah, these are all the ideas I have come up with after just one day of gameplay, haha.
What do you think? c:
  • I love the idea of treasure hunts!  Or even just scavenger hunts. You have lots of creative and fun ideas!
  • Ok.
    Treasure Hunt—I like the idea in general. I'm not sure I dig the direction you're taking it. As-is, a lot of players *do* make notes that you can find and go searching for things. Scavenger Hunts could be part of the Treasure Hunt skill-line as well. But, yeah, I don't get the wormhole. I'm thinking more of an Indiana Jones or National Treasure type hunt myself.
    What your idea did make me think of though, were like 'wilderness' or 'off the map' type zones where you have to piece together the map. These areas would have no street spirits, and you couldn't use the map navigation to get around. The mini-map is 'fog of war'ed as well, so you don't know what's ahead til you navigate it.
    Maybe the Treasure Hunter skill tree let's you go into instanced zones/quests like this. That would be something.
    Stray Pets—Not sure what you're suggesting here.
    Activity Books—I think what you mean here are like Crossword, Word Find, Sudoko type books, correct? The higher your Glitch's IQ the better he is at solving them 'automatically.' The more you do them 'manually' the more  your Glitch's IQ increases, such that, you can later do them auto while still gaining the reward of completing them.
    This is very different to how the game works right now. It's akin to the skill system, but way different than any other skill. I'm not sure how I feel about it entirely. It's an interesting concept, but I think it needs to be implemented and templated differently to mesh with how the game currently works.
    Food Ideas—I am with you in regards to how each item made shouldn't be perfect... or at least not the same. I also like the idea of being able to do things like adding my own things into the mix. For example, what if I want Catsup on my Lemburger? Things like that would be nice. Or as you mention, adding extra of a given fruit to a smoothie.
    Spoiling food is actually an idea currently being developed for the game. It hasn't been implemented yet, and we're not sure if it will be or not. I'd like to see a trial run for it.
