6 Degrees of Lord Bacon-O

I am going to try the 6 degrees to Kevin Bacon, but in this sense, 6 degrees to Lord Bacon-o. I'll add a friend to my sign post, jump to their street, hope they have a friend added to their sign post, hop again, and try making it to Lord Bacon-o's home street that way.

I'll start monitoring my progress and see what I come up with. But here is the trick, I won't be looking at who I jump to's friends list.

Then I'll start with other random friends on my list :D

  • +1 to Lord Bacon-o, yes, I suppose it only takes one degree to get to you.

  • I think Lord Bacon-o is zero degrees of separation from Lord Bacon-o.

Rikki-Tikki pointed me in the direction of this thread. She was the first person to come randomly wandering into my front yard and I think she makes me feel a little happier about the idea of losing old-style housing streets. I first met a lot of the people on my friends list from being their neighbours, but it makes sense that people on the signposts of your friends houses are likely to be nice people too... so wandering from friend to friend-of-friend seems like a good way to meet nice people.

PS On the subject of "degrees of separation", you may be interested to read about the Erdős–Bacon number: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Erd%C5%91s%E2%80%93Bacon_number
