Bags - The disposable diapers of Ur.

What in Ur am I going to do with all of these bags? Before SDB's, I kept *everything* sorted and bagged. Now, I have more than 200 bags sitting in my attic collecting dust and creating a fire hazard. I can't sell them to vendors. I can't donate them to shrines. I can't put them in SDB's in my tower to sell, nor can I leave them out with prices attached like furniture. Other than wandering around Ur, littering the landscape with empty bags, what can I do with them?

  • Give em to all the newbies! Thats what I would do!

  • Fill a bunch with some basic starting goods like grain, meat, milk, beans, etc. and a note welcoming a new player to Glitch. Then leave them in places newbies are apt to wander, or hand them out to low level players. :D

  • I've put low level goodies in my old bags for dropping in the newbie areas. And, it's so much fun giving something to a "sleeping" newbie :)

  • It's always fun when you have jump, jump, jumped along treetops and floating islands, and then find something at the end.

  • ...Wouldn't it be nice to be able to break the bags down to make rugs for our houses?

  • I'm just barely six days old, so I don't have any serious number of excess bags, but I do have a few of the smaller ones. Now, having finally gotten myself full of the bigger variety, I find that I'm not sure what I'll do with the baby bags once I get bigger ones to replace them.

I'm totally for a cool way to get some use out of well loved bags!

  • One great idea over in the ideas forum was to allow a bag to be 'folded', and thus turned into a 'folded bag'.  A folded bag could not hold anything, and could fit in an inventory slot, sdb, be mailed, sold, etc.   Once unfolded it behaves like a normal bag.

  • +1 for the idea WalruZ posted. Also, it'd be nice to be able to sell them back to vendors or in SDBs.

  • I have made some 'gift' bags for the new kids - the biggest problem is finding one with an open slot to accept it!! LOL

  • If you have that many, put some up for sale - noobs will want them...might as well get some of that cash back, 200 bags is quite a lot of currants.

  • TMM - I had the same predicament (loads of empty smaller bags in my attic!), but a while ago I put all my empty bags into cabinets & have the cabinets with empty bags in stacked on top of each other.  If you think you may need more bags for something later on (I know I will & have put some I had stashed into use already!) then at least they're out of the way & the extra cabinets will add to your # towards the cabinet making achievements if you don't already have them!

Barren Earth - why not use the smaller bags for storage in your house for now!

(Gifting to new players is a great idea too & selling, if you need the currents).

  • I fill bags one by one with stuff to take to the tool vendor, or the shrine, and then when I have enough I ditch all my regular bags and go out. When I come home my currents and IMG levels are happy again.

  • Collect the exact number of ingredients and tools needed to restore a garden plot, or a jellisac mound, or whatever, and store in one bag. Then, when that particular yard feature has been depleted, all you have to do is swap bags and you'll have everything you need to restore that feature.

These pre-assembled "restoration packs" also make great gifts or giveaways.

  • I do have bags allocated for specific tasks - a foxbrushing bag, a gardening bag, a restoration bag, etc. I couldn't live without bags! It's just that I don't need SO many of them anymore!

  • Fill them with guano and piggy plops and Flaming Humbabas and leave them on doorsteps.

  • TotallyMentalMommy  if they are the smaller bags I would be happy to take a cpl off your hands also..as I am in the process of making up some restoration bags to take on my street visits. :) I'm happy to pay for them ..if you wanna mail me a price...or just mail them to me...and let me know how much you want for them.

  • I like the idea of "foldable bags" like recycle bags you carry to the grocery store. I do have theme bags with my fox brushing stuff, cooking stuff, herb stuff, etc. etc.

  • I just posted in the trade chat earlier today that I had smaller bags for free in my tower lobby and people arrived in seconds (and then they were gone!) - give 'em away in a similar fashion.  They'll be gone before you know it : )

I wouldn't sell them as they're given away and dropped on streets so frequently that any value asked for would feel like currant pinching.

  • I found a solution for mine at least- give them to a new player you just invited to the game :D

  • Offer them to Civility Group leader BachJess for new member/new player gift bags. Offer them to Sandbox Group leaders for their similar project.

  • Back in the day before the housing change I used to leave them in my old house when I bought a new one. So whoever bought my old apartment got the added bonus of a bunch of smaller bags.
