From what I've seen, they seem to be switching off every week or so--Wed thru Fri one week, Thurs through Sat another week, then back again (and obviously there are variations on the days). So... like Lord Bacon-o said, I wouldn't expect it to open any time before Thursday. My personal guess would be that it will open on Friday and stay open till Sunday. Maybe it's wishful thinking though, because I would love a nice weekend test XD
It could open later today though. Who knows. :) Just from past experience, however, I won't keep my hopes up for that. I played a grand total of about 20 minutes in last week's test so this wait is killing me especially ;_; *sniffle* But I'm keeping positive anyway! Can't wait to play again!
@ Princess Rayne, I feel your Payne! :) ~ just got my invite in time to spend about an hour and become very confused and quite addicted. Anxiously waiting...and checking... and checking...
gee SnappyJo.. I can't imagine how hard the last few days have been. for me, when I first started, I had several hours to poke around and get a feel for things a little bit. that was March and there are still a few things I'm learning. I can only imagine how eager you must be to get back in!
bored, had waited soooo long for an invite, I thought they had forgotten me! My refresh is going to be worn out! There seems to be a lot going on in this game, it may not work for me and my ADD :) I am all over the place, and not finishing anything!
aww so sorry SnappyJo. I wouldn't refresh too much right now(at least not when it comes to looking for the game to open). Hopefully sometime today a dev will pop in one of these threads and say about when the game will open.
I hope your post was teasing, and not real ire. We've no right to get upset with the devs/company (disappointed/sad at not being able to play, yes, but not angry), even if they tell us a specific day, much less basing our expectations on a vague poem. It opens when it opens, as it is still being tested and worked out. We should be thankful we get a chance to play at all before anyone else. And thankful that they do usually give us an ETA nowadays.
+ 1 Little Miss Giggles. all I got from that poem and their posts was this weekend was a long one (wasn't it for everyone?). I figured that meant they weren't gonna focus on getting us back in until today, but I saw a few devs in yesterday, so who knows?
@Rascal, I didn't get the impression that they would only be gone for the weekend from that poem--it sounded more to me like they were showing sympathy to us for not being able to play over the weekend. They did specify that they were going to rest over the weekend, though, which means the real work starts today (after the Canadian holiday yesterday), and we'll have to wait until they're finished with that for the game to open. Hopefully it isn't too long for our benefit, but they can take as much time as they need.
Remember, "gone for the weekend" meant "gone for the weekend."
The devs had three days off from work. Not monitoring a test and no coding and no designing, etc.. They were spending time with their families, relaxing, probably a few got drunk. I imagine most slept full nights sleep.
So if they get back today (probably turning on their computers in 30 minutes or so), they still have to do all the work that gets done when they aren't testing. They have to make the whole world that we get to play in.
That takes time. If they open on Thursday afternoon, that is only two and a half days of non-test work.
How about... A weekend, Glitchless, is a sad one indeed,
but we've sleep to catch up on and babies to feed.
We will return as soon as we can,
And continue to make things grow once again!
Not the best rhyme, but pfft. Sue me. XD
Don't worry, it will come. :) Again, agreeing with LB-o. They need time between tests to fix the bugs they've found in the previous test and to make new things and to have boring staff meetings (well, maybe they're not boring, I don't know). As well as time to spend with families and go to the bar and whatnot.
I want Glitch back as much as the next person, but I can also understand needing breaks from work XD Haha. I'm sure they're in the process of figuring out how to do this all when the game is live, but for now we just have to wait it out. *wise nod*
Edit: Well, there you go. Pepper Rose said it would be open today till friday. Go crazy xD
Im going to go ahead and say that the next 4 days will probably be open, this would give them chances to test some things before throwing on the servers to load-test on the weekends ( i can only assume that glitch traffic increases on the weekend).
It makes sense from a production standpoint to do small tests of new features/functions during the week and then see how they stack up when pushed to the limit.
That being said, I claim to know nothing of the "little spark" production schedule.
Just wanted to offer a little insight as to why most testing follows a similiar type schedule.
