Well, mangled, chicken-scratch Japanese. But rook script is reminiscent of katakana and hiragana, isn't it?
I see something like ku (ク), ba (バ), ta (タ), and ta (た) again. I know what's written isn't actually kana, and most people playing Glitch can't read kana, but I can't help but notice the similarities.
Reminds me of this one sci-fi comic I read once, in which one of the alien scripts was heavily influenced by kanji (Chinese logograms) and used the character for "fire" (火) a lot. Like ten times in every speech bubble. So every time an alien spoke I heard nothing but Arthur Brown.
