Cubimals strategy

Hi Glitchens!

Recently I am on a cubimals hunt and was wondering if there is any kind of strategy of obtaining rare ones. Of course you can always buy/exchange them on the marketplace, but what about vendors? I was trying to buy one cubi per day for a couple of weeks, but got only commons. Then I made a one-time bulk purchase and got several semi-rares, but still no Rook or Rube.

So is there any strategy or its just a roulette?

  • I just bought 30 and got a new one - Scion of Purple and a 2nd Hell's Bartender...

With series 1 I bought a shitload of them over time, never got a rook.  I just asked if I could touch someone else's to get the badge :)

  • Here's my strategy:
    1. buy a couple dozen boxes to get the commons
    2. buy individual uncommons when you get the chance for a fair price
    3. forget about the rares

    Here's the best strategy:
    0. don't collect cubimals at all

  •  I got insanely lucky and opened my rook but I had to buy a rube from someone else. If you're going for the thrill of opening each yourself then keep buying. No one vendor or magic number at a time increases your odds.

You should know however that people spend millions and millions of currants buying boxes and even then sometimes never open one of the big two (rook and rube). So, if you're looking to complete your set in the most economic way possible, stop buying boxes and just buy directly from another player.

  • I even tried buying 1 from each toy vendor.  That didn't work either.  No magic, just random chance.  Good luck bumz!

  • It's blind dumb luck!

I heard recently that someone was able to buy from the game all of Series 2 for about 500,00!

    If true, amazing dat!

  • I've been buying from vendors and never got rook or rube. I think your best bet is to save your currants and buy it from someone from the marketplace. I haven't calculated, but I think either method will cost about the same amount of currants. I gave up on trying to get rare ones from vendors. I'm saving my money to buy from other glitchens.

  • The RNG is not my friend, I will never find my Rube.... But yeah, it is all {as everyone else already said} just the RNG that decides what you get and when if you vendor purchase.

  • I think it's absolutely ridiculous how rare some of these cubies are ~it stinks.

  • Is there any strategy for maximizing the chance of getting cubimals from the use of game show tickets or the rube?    I make sure my mood is good, but haven't gotten one from either source in many, many months of active play.

  • @Leites, I think the chances of getting a cubimal from a game show ticket is dependent on how much you've donated. I got one recently from a huge donation that I made, but it is rare. I think it's also random, unfortunately. Way back when, game show tickets actually gave out a lot more cubimal boxes, but like everything else that benefits the players it was thwarted by the staff.

  • Cubimals and Leaderboards are the two single most frustrating parts of this game.

  • @lala512.  That makes sense - I usually donate one meat at a time, because I've been working on the last donation badge.   But what about game tickets that drop from other activities?

  • Back when series 2 was released, folks were posting very consistent currant figures for getting the complete S2 set. This leads me to suspect whoever programmed the RNG / set the odds knew what they were doing.

The odds for the 2 rarest are very low, but if you buy enough boxes the odds will hold, and you'll get your set.

Purely from an emotional standpoint do I sguggest buying large batches (40-100 boxes) -- this will generally get you something of values each time, making the process feel less frustrating.

  • On one day, I purchase about 30 cubimal boxes and got nothing I was hoping for.  Later that same day I purchased just one box and got a cubimal I needed. It's just luck. Keep buying.
