Why do they overprice stuff that we can't make ourselves???!!!

So with the recent vendor selling prices increased, now everything's a certain percentage more expensive to buy from vendors. Including stuff that players can't make, like firefly jars, stills, cauldrons, numerous kinds of groceries, such as ice, salmon, sesame oil, birch syrup, beer, and olive oil, cubimal boxes, party packs, cameras, toys, and machines. If we can't make these items ourselves, how would this promote a more player-driven economy? Can you please change this?

  • They do stuff for a reason, and stoot said that stuff will make sense as we progress in the future.

  • I think part of it is to act as a current sink.

  • firefly jars are about 1/2 of what they used to cost - 107 vs 200.

Frankly, this is the kind of BS that I would expect from a cult, not an online game.

  • WalruZ...we're in beta...things are going to change...fair enough to express your displeasure at the changes, but really...during beta, it's going to change, and that is the point of beta...not always do we get why the change happens until other changes happen later...

  • I embrace change.   I don't embrace being kept in ignorance.  They are two different things.

  • WalruZ - Are you really that surprised that stoot can't divulge EVERY detail of things that are in the works? It's not a cult - it's a game, and a business.

  • Seriously?

WalruZ, I find it unfortunate that you seem to be so unhappy.

  • Y'know, I don't expect TS to "divulge EVERY detail of things that are in the works", and in general anticipate new developments in the game will be for the better, but Rook's comment made the same impression on me as on WalruZ.  I mean, you could say that in response to every criticism, in which case why bother to have forums?

I think increasing the spread between vendor sale prices and vendor buy prices on everything, including things we can't make, makes it less profitable to just play the market, grab underpriced things off the auctions and sell them to vendors.
