Community stash

Hi, is there any community stash?
I'm thinking of a place where charitable glitches could leave items they don't need for others to pickup.

My reasoning behind this is, that i like to make TP scripts and i thought about making scripts for the different ghost locations. however these take up quite a bit of space, so i don't want to lug them around with me all the time, i just rather leave them somewhere where people can pick them up, if they need them.

  • I leave things all over the place - usually in slightly out-of-the-way corners.  (I give away a lot of the snacks the trees throw me, for example.)  They always seem to get picked up.  I like the idea of someone just happening upon them.

  • Some people tend to pick up anything they find in order to auction/sell it, too.  Lately I've been haunting places where newbies hang out, finding low-level players, and handing them stuff as I run by.  If they're AFK, so much the better ("Hey, where'd this come from?").

  • Yes!  I didn't have a greeter but a few random folks handed me sandwiches and salads early on, and it was so nice.  I do that now when I'm in those neighborhoods - pretty much anyone in the single-digit level is likely to get a salad or something.
Those players can't use the teleportation scripts, though.

  • I like handing out drinks.  The game needs a bar.

  • @oscarette Teleportation scripts can be used by any player, whether or not they have any teleportation skills. It just takes TP IV to create the scripts.

  • I agree No Such - that's a good idea.

I can tell you this, I always leave stuff on the street where my house is, the 1400 block of Sakinalu Shreds Qutr. in Andrea.

So come bye each game day and you'll find stuff, if it hasn't been taken by my neighbors.

  • I usually drop the scripts in Ilmenskie Deeps in hiding places, some of which are easy to find some which are harder. This works really well for random philantropy, but not if you want to provide a service to people. I thought about "misusing" one of the open houses as an inofficial drop spot, since they are somewhat out of the way, but they are also far from the subway.

    As for the scripts:
I have 3 free teleports per game day and a couple of hundred sheets of paper. It doesn't take long to create the Scripts, so i would love to help out people, but i can only store ~32 scripts on my person which i randomly drop around. If there was a community stash, i could easily drop of a couple of sripts for differnent locations every day + return scripts. So if anyone wants to go anywhere, they can just go there, grap a script and a return script and teleport.
I would do this in my home, but it is a bit out of the way, and i use it to store other stuff as well.

  • How long do the items last on the ground if they don't get picked up? Surely they are not permanent? It would seem like they get cleared every so often like the grave markers.

  • Grave markers are not actual items ;)

Items last on the ground forever - until someone picks them up.
(Unless it's a note, which may disintegrate after a certain number of readings.)

  • Ah good point, I should have thought about items in one's house that would last forever.

  • @Millie thank you!  I did not know that.

  • If you like to give stuff away - try the Sandbox group.  We give lots of stuff away to lower level players.
