"they must be so close cause they wouldn't leave us glitchens just sitting here thinking that they are Not going to open would THEy?"
I don't know about the them, but I do know that when I am working under intense pressure and there are people hovering over me prodding me to work faster I can have some pretty evil thoughts about those people
Remember that "big, complicated, low-level change to the way data is sent to the game client in order to render the locations in the world"? The devs are still working on it, with their noses to the grindstone. Meanwhile, I am reading every one of your posts and am anxious to give you a more concrete update. As soon as I have it, you will too.
And then said time was past, and lo! No announcement descends from on high!
And Glitchens were left to wallow until another even time came to pass, when they could gather at the forum square and yell! Hark, 3:15 TS time the game does most verily open!
Ah, I have a feeling that location data packets deal might keep us on the edge of our seats for quite a while. Three cheers for the devs working so industrially to get us all online!
In a way, I'm glad it worked out the way it did. I had a neurologist appointment that went a little longer than expected.
"We don't want you to have side-effects with your medication, like kidney stones."
"Nope, already happened. I was fine. Passed them in like a day and a half. It just happened because I wasn't drinking enough water, and that was because I was seizing for like four days in a row. I know what I'm doing. Can I go now?"
"Wait, what? That won't do. At all. You need to get to the ER when that happens. Uh, all of it. I mean, first off, with the kidney stones -- Wait. Did you say them, as in more than one? What the...?"
"Yeah. See, I'm a cancer survivor, so kidney stones are kind of no big deal."
Apparently, that was the wrong thing to say. Long story short, my meds got upped after a really long lecture, then I had to go to the pharmacy. And fight with Pittsburgh traffic. Now I'm here and ready to get my Glitch on. Let's make this as painless as possible. I've been through enough today.
3:15 Pacific daylight savings time, what happened, must be either really really bad or they have a wonderful surprise for all of us. What do you think it would be???
I don't know. It was more funny than anything, really. Somehow, at the end of it, the neurologist called me a "lovely girl" because I was so nice and laid back. I kept insisting that I didn't want to be a bother and she had a lot of other patients to see. I can handle my epilepsy just fine. The lecture was "Well, obviously you can't if you're going into status epileptus every few weeks, and you're by yourself." I guess she's right, but the realization still stings a little bit. So, I didn't put up much of a fight when she upped my meds.
Nonetheless, it's been a trying day, but I'm glad I didn't miss the Grand Awakening with everybody.
I've heard, from Blanky's post in another thread that I don't know how to link to, that they still have some kinks to work out with the location generating code and whatnot. Something about separating data packets for loading locations.
DaveJohn, above the text box for posting a reply are 5 icons. The first icon lets you switch to HTML input.
The second and third icons let you select text and change it to bold and/or italic without entering your own HTML codes.
The fourth icon allows you to select text and use that as the link for the underlying hyperlink. Copy URL, open reply text box, type in words, select the words you want to use for the link, paste URL into the little screen that opens.
The fifth icon allows you to unlink the words and the page.
DaveJohn, if you're in IE, you won't have any of those 5 icons. I already filed a bug report and they are working on it. Turns out, they didn't know these things weren't already working in IE.
Thanks guys. : D I was in Chrome actually. I was just being forum illiterate and had yet to notice those buttons on the glitch forums! Thanks for the heads up. ;P
