A Real Neighborhood!

I live in Kalavana. Yeah, Seela Latta district, middle of nowhere, in a swamp. And I like it that way, in fact I love it and my house is totally awesome with an aquarium full of caterpillar-fish-thingies and it's exactly what I wanted.

The problem I'm seeing is that there isn't any sense of camaraderie or neighborhood appeal.

Now I've visited a few other neighborhoods, specifically in Groddle Heights which I think is closest to ideal in a direct way: There is stuff to do in your neighborhood.
You can plant a couple trees, mine some cruddy metal rocks, but the fact is that it becomes a group project. In fact, just hanging out in those neighborhoods, you can see little notes and teleport scrolls left around, and special wood trees that the whole neighborhood protects for others. It's awesome! It's what Glitch should really be like.

Let's bring it back to the 3100 block, Seela Latta Quarter, Kalavana, Ur.
Empty.
You could supply animals if you wanted. (I just did. Like. A bunch. Liven up the place a little.)
But there is really nothing connecting me to my neighbors, no way of improving the streets or even feeling like I'm contributing much. Who is my neighbor on the left? Will they understand that all the community butterflies are named after wizards from Discworld?

What I'd propose is more ways to make the smaller communities connect. For some of the... less busy places in Ur (such as the swamp in which I reside) add some ability to tend the land, plant a tree, anything that makes it feel like a group effort, or make it appealing for passers-by.
Secondly, what about something like a public bulletin board? Can a tinker, blockmaker, someone create an item and stick it up in the neighborhood to allow neighbors to chitchat to one another? I think any way that you can promote interaction among Glitches is AWESOME.

What about the immediate option of joining a group for your neighborhood/quarter? I'm usually the only one in this Seela Latta Residents chat I found, plus, that's a rather large span of folks, but it's a step in the right direction.

I know a recurring theme of Glitch is "I wanna customize more!" and believe me, I have an earful about what I'd like to do to the interior of my house and so much more. But I think the exterior is where we really need this first. Community? Camaraderie? I live out in the boondocks, and like any ol' rural folk, I wanna get to know my neighbors! Give us some reason to party out together...

(and maybe, you know, give people a reason to come out to the marsh anyway.)
Thanks a lot, and keep on glitchin'.
