Just brainstorming here, after reading the post where someone had a lot of stuff swiped from their home:
www.glitch.com/forum/genera...
I love the SDB's, because it makes me feel more comfortable having people over to my house. I'd like to be able to take it a step further though, and was thinking it'd be nice if we could lock the doors to a floor in our homes.
For example, let's assume I have three levels in my home. If I want, I can lock the top floor, give no one a key, and have that be my "private" floor. I can then lock the door to the second floor and give a few close friends that key, and leave stuff I wouldn't want general public to grab there. The bottom floor I could leave "open", and then give keys to anyone and everyone, and leave stuff like extra food, etc. there and be able to come home and enjoy any changes friends make / leave / take.
Maybe two keys is overkill, considering we have our own public street. But it also could be a basis for adding new "locksmith" skills. Extra tiers add extra available house keys, ability to make floor keys as I described above, and could open up all new gameplay options. I'm thinking locked chests, either random spawned or player-created for whatever reason and uses they come up with. Maybe the ability to make a "random" key, like the alchemy potion does. And many more ideas I'm sure others could come up with.
So please fellow glitches, I welcome your replies and thoughts on this idea. With enough input, this idea could be fleshed out to provide home security, while also opening new open world gameplay possibilities!
