I know housing is undergoing a major overhaul and am as excited as anyone to see the results.
Since it seems we are to have more control over housing options, I hope this includes the ability to decide what type of patches our houses contain, Herb, Veggie or Dark.
I'd like to see the option to choose which type of patches our house contains regardless of location. But it wouldn't be a "click this option switch" type decision.
If, for example a player's house is located in Groddle Forest (traditionally a vegetable growing region) and wishes to dabble in the Herb Trade without moving to the Swamps, that player will need to collect dirt and loam from the bog lands. Likewise, if a player loves the look of the bog houses but wants to grow Vegetables they can head to one of the Veggie growing areas and harvest dirt and loam to build their veggie producing Raised Beds in their Swamp home.
And perhaps we could even mix and match. I want 6 veggie patches and 10 herb patches and 2 dark patches? Fine! If I do the work and get the appropriate soil, why not? And If people want a house with no patches they can have that too.
And because housing is customizable, players need not move when later they decide that they are sick of whatever it is they have been growing. It is simple enough (with some effort, or a quick trip to the auction house) to head out again, get the soil you need and get growing.
This idea may be too late for the first version of housing upgrades, or something similar may already be in the works, but I would love to see this ability to live where I want and grow what I want when I want it come true.
Ideas about this? Downsides to this?
