Anyone else here play Okami? Puzzles, gorgeous art, fantastic music, wonderful story (the end made me cry!), sly humor... we play on the Wii and now there's a DS sequel. I'm a little surprised not to see it at all here!
I also played a lot of AC until my darling 6yo son deleted my village. I haven't had the heart to start over again.
to many to list here, but I do play too many, some I do play are Farm town, Petville, a couple games on Pogo.com, Egg breaker 1 & 2. Wondering Willows sometimes, my all time favorite game besides Glitch, I love Mahjongg.
OMG Okami! My daughter and I LOVED that game. DS version a bit too much like a stripped down console version...plus those graphics really deserve a big screen.
I play Pardus. It's a space trader/MERC game similar to the old priviteer/trade wars type games. It's really deep yet easy to pick up. It's the only mmo that has held my attention for so long, I do take breaks sometimes but always come back to play.
Thanks jasbo for the mention of the Humble Indie Bundle. Bunch of games for little cost, only one I had trouble downloading. My favorites, the Crayon Physics and Machinarium.
I actually bought a PS3 very recently to play Demon's Souls (and in anticipation of Dark Souls). This game has been asking me for a CHALLLEEEEEEEENNNGE!!
Also, allow me to take this moment to brag about having beaten "I Wanna Be The Guy".
@ScillyGirl5.....I play freerealms and was also concerned with the potential of SOE having access to all my files. I purchased a laptop strictly for game play and use my desktop for everything else. I know that might seem extreme but my desktop wasn't fast enough for games anyways. At least, that way I feel my personal files are not at risk.
I purchased the "life time" membership and really enjoy the game. I don't like any of the occupations that involve combat but there are so many other occupation and quests options that I do enjoy.
@Originalauntie....I enjoy Pixie Hollow for all the same reasons you do! Very relaxing game.
Thank you Breezy! I too really enjoy that game, mainly because of the totally beautiful artwork/graphics,and also 'cos I can run everywhere,and...oh,I'm skinny! LOL!
but...I do not like that SOE would have access to all my files ~I played the game on my old (and now very dead) pc,and up until that security breach, I wasn't aware of the fact that SOE could access all of my info via their web installer. I have toyed with the idea of getting a laptop just for game play, I think it's a great idea! =)
ScillyGirl5, if you do get back into freerealms my main pixie goes under my FS name of Nancyca. I also love the graphics and the variety of areas as well as being skinny!
Cereus Peashy seems to have become my Glitch-itch game... that, and Crayon Physics, AYIM, and Super Mario Crossover. This is my first MMO, though- I just never got into WoW (sooo many a$$hat$, and I just didn't care for it to boot), and all the people I knew in the Navy that were *really* into Everquest kinda turned me off to the idea, largely.
I don't go for MMOs usually. When I was younger I played MMOs almost exclusively, but now I find most of them boring. Glitch is refreshing and original and has a lot of character customization, so it's right up my alley.
I've been playing a lot of Elder Scrolls (Oblivion and Morrowind, as always), Terraria, and some Left 4 Dead 2.
@GavenLee That "Endless Forest" really is .... something else isnt it, well it is beautiful and thank you very much for suggesting it :) The other game they promote on that site (the Red Riding Hood one) looks really interesting and spooky. grandmothers-house.net/
I've been having a grand ol' time just looking up the different games that have been suggested, so thanks everyone.
I just reinstalled The Sims 2 : I haven't played since about 5 years ago ... I missed the game! Never played the newer game, I'm a hardcore Sims 2 ... anyways, still hoping for someone to list "that special game" that would have me as addicted as WoW did at one time ...
I've gone back to Howrse....on *all 5* servers, lol. I might re-install Zoo Tycoon, but that can get boring after awhile, no new challenges.
And ditto, thanks for all the suggestions. :-)
I have a City of Heroes account, although I haven't played in about 8 months. Might play again now that it went freemium. I just mostly flew around, not fighting crime, just flying.
I also play Guild Wars, although mostly because my friends play. I’m more of a social gamer... I got them hooked on Glitch too. :) I am looking forward to Guild Wars 2, I’m just sick of waiting.
Mostly in my off time lately, I've been playing Desktop Dungeons, a totally addicting roguelike game that you can play in 10 minutes (or less if you die, and you will die...) Random levels and enemies generated every time you play. Easy to learn, hard to win, fun to die, and it's also funny as well! Free alpha & paid pre-order beta. I recommend the alpha, although I paid for the game too! http://desktopdungeons.net
Since someone else resurrected this... Been playing computer games since my father popped a tape with a baseball-themed math game (yeah, an audio cassette tape!) into something hooked up to our TV set. Been doing multiplayer since MUD days... Texas Twilight and Cajun Nights (both World of Darkness themed) addicted me to the point of flunking out of college my first time through. Later I beta'd Eve Online, and I've played that game since then. I also have hopped into other betas, most recently World of Tanks and Age of Empires Online before Glitch. Usually I try to nail down replicating the bugs other people report and supply info they didn't record or remember.
Somehow, this game reminds me of why I fell in love with Eve Online. Every other game since then has disappointed me. Glitch hasn't. It might join Eve as my only other regular game.
Tzombor, i played Cajun Nights for a while back in college in the 90s... Although I favored MUSHes, MOOs, and MUCKs over MUDs.
My faves were BSGmush, which was original Battlestar Galactica based. TrekMush, The SprawlMoo, which was snowcrash themed, and FDCmuck which was Disney themed.
I closed the computer lab on every night that I wasn't out at the bar. (So I never got any sleep...) I've missed playing games that force me to use my imagination... Glad I found Glitch!
Wow,Onverse has improved. They have added enchanted forests and the areas are gorgeous. You can buy villas, castles.cottages and even your own countryside complete with giant frogs, babbling brooks, birds chirping. It even rains! You have the ability to decorate outside in most of the larger estates. The social aspect..I wouldn't know. If your in need of a zen moment, wander the enchanted forests!
List of games that have caught my attention in my life so far:
Nethack
Morrowind
Kingdom of Loathing. Like welfy I have also been to a Con, AND was a DJ on their unofficial radio station for a while. I was wondering how many loathers were playing Glitch as there are similarities in the type of person that would be attracted.
I played Kingdom of Loathing for a while. Portal, though I'm still stuck on level 19. Chime and World of Goo via Steam. I don't have a gaming console of any kind, but I really enjoyed playing Flower and Little Big Planet for PS3. And I'll take a stab at almost any silly word game out there.
Welp I did play animal crossing and sims for the gamecube LOVED IT!! than i got into more pc games like yoville for about a week lol.. Than moved on to smallworlds been playing that forever.
onverse- you can buy or build your own home & decorate it. Explore 4 different worlds and chat. Free to play, cost money for upgrades (but not necessary) I'm all about the decorating!http://www.onverse.com/i/184947
I play countless console and PC titles, but I don't play MMOs much. I can't stand the generic grinding you run into when you hit around level 20-30. This is different, this I like. I am into the newer "crafting" games like Minecraft, Terraria, etc. I like this game for the crafting and hopefully I will finally learn what I can do with the metal ingots (besides just rubbing them).
I like games with lots of world-exploration-- Fallout, Oblivion, Deus Ex, etc. I really got into Minecraft for a long long time. I generally like Bioware titles and modern Diabloesques, too, like Torchlight and Deathspank. I follow the indie games scene pretty closely, because good games with a strong sense of style + cheap pricing = my idea of a good time
Lego-anything on wii, Undergarden or Ass Creed on the ps3, various dancing/exercise ones on the xbox/kinect and Sims 3/Glitch on the pooter.
We're a bit of a console family.. but I love Glitch most of all ^_^
Hubby is an ex WoW addict, and has just reinstated his EVE account but he gets curious when I play this... I am going to lure him in after launch... mwah ha ha
