Stolen Property

I have been wondering why strangers have been showing up as visitors in my butler's reports. I think I know why. I put some loam and a few pumpkins way off to the left of my street today. A few hours later they were gone. I wish I had written down the names of the visitors ... perhaps it was one of them. But even if I had, what could I have done with that information? Anyway, I have learned my lesson. Put my stuff into my house or backyard if I don't want it stolen.

  • Visiting Stones? Can anyone shed a bit of info on this one please?

  • Go to a 'dead end' street in Ur, Heatseeker...should find one at any of them...then all will become clear...

There was also a posting about it in the change log too on 29 Aug.  Always good to peruse the change logs occasionally...lots of good stuff in there.

  • Would be nice to have a reminder when a player places a garden in their street, a clicky box that tells them that the garden is public and may be harvested and planted by anyone.

  • I didn't mean to remove the players name... just change the "home" for "public", so for example my street would be "UXRoot Public Street". it is very clear, that everything there, is public.

  • B3achy, I am an avid reader of the change log but somehow missed this particular one. Thank you for clearing it up for me *hugs*

  • Alaina - people can use sites such as GlitchRemote to search all the home streets for a particular resource, such as bean trees. If you have a bean tree, you'd show up in that search, and anyone would be able to click you name and visit your street. Because it is public.

  • @diaveborn - the site does have a nice FAQ section, which sort of functions as the ' tiny tiny wiki on-site'  you were requesting.

For example, the housing section does address what other players can do on your street:
    http://www.glitch.com/help/faq/#q176

I don't know if its existence is acknowledged in the new tutorial, but that might be nice: "If you have more questions later, you can always check out the FAQ in the Help section of our site, etc"   I do know I didn't happen across it until well after I had figured out most of the things on the list myself.

If you have suggestions for other things that should be addressed there, TS might be open to suggestions.
