Someone's been tuning bubbles into a housing bubble? =D
I doubt they're going to add more in the existing areas since more residents = worse congestion lag. I think it's more likely that they would add more areas that have the same things people like the groddle homes for (presumably the art style and/or relative proximity to resources/other areas/subway).
Yeah Marylpole Mount rocks!
Ofcourse everyone wants to live there, there's no better place to be found!
Except maybe Jethima-Jethmidah.. hmm I think that's not right either... Will go there more often to study the spelling of the place :P
I originally bought a house in Groddle Forest because it was close to the (then) starting area and the subway. As I've gotten to know more about the game, though, and found other resources elsewhere I've been saving up my currants to move to a more remote destination. My bet is that I'm not alone and there will be a lot of Groddle housing turnover in the next few weeks where newer folks can grab the spot they want.
Personally, I'm looking for the right combination of vista and house design, and them I'm outta Goddle.
Does anyone know what street has a view across the plains to the high mountains? Someone linked to it the other day, and I haven't been able to find the link again.
Maybe it isn't such a bad thing. I mean, maybe if will force some people to fill in some of the frontier-ish areas a little bit more. There's TONs of houseing in Muufo and Arana (specifically tree houses and apartments). Just a though
Last night they opened some new blocks in Mien Evoke; however, they were selling out in front of my eyes. I was just lucky enough to grab two houses for my friend and me, phew.
I wish there were more area with " normal " looking houses like in Bortola / Mien Evoke. I have problems picturing myself living in a tree house, or ground hole.
Thursday, that's what happened with me. My original house was in Groddle Forest, chosen due to location. Then the game was reset/launched. Oh, I missed my centrally located house.
I bought a house in Bortola and was thinking of selling it and moving back to Groddle. Then I realized that 1) Had very rarely gone down to the Groddles or Ix or Uralia in a while, because 2) I don't like the crowded places.
I've been able to learn my current neighborhood and I think I like. Location is great (near subway and Gardening vendor) and there's everything except Spice trees. Best part, is that it's not lousy with people. I think it helps that my current house looks like where I live in real life, both with the decor, garden and hillside views. I even planted a "spice tree" today.
I bought a home on Tii Street and I'm just trying to sack away a few more thousand currants before I upgrade and move to a more remote location. Too many people! I love being around lots of Glitches but the resources run out and the lag is terrible.
I like it in Tamila, and it's good if you're a chef - there are produce, grocery, gardening and animal and alchemical supply vendors within one street of the residence. It's also handy for the plains and Pollokoo. You can maybe still find ground-level houses but I like climbing ladders. Also they're cheap.
I'd saved up 4,000 currants for my first home in Groddle Forest, only to find it was sold. :( But, I found a house I liked better in Bortola for only 1,500. SO, it worked out all right. :)
Teleportation IV makes location unimportant because you can teleport anywhere (if you don't mind spending 90 energy). So all that matters is other factors (storage space, tree plots, community atmosphere, etc.) once you get the skill. I never use the subway anymore and my teleportation tokens are relatively useless.
Yeah I need to work on my Teleportation skill. Not fun having to run everywhere, or take the Subway (but it always seems I'm on the opposite side of Ur that I want to be going). I currently have a house in Groddle, but would love if they put some housing in Uralia or Ix. I love the atmosphere in those two regions.
Also, I put a teleport link in Jethimadh at Koulato Cluster right beside the leftmost barnacle. There's a wormhole behind the tree there that goes to Ruta Ascuncion which provides easy access to Ix, Uralia, Ilmenskie, and the Groddles. So it's a good spot because you are getting more than one location for one spot! With this, I don't feel the need to go beyond Teleportation III for now.
@Becky - Unfortunately those basement 'shelves' that are in the treehouses are not accessible, and yes it would be nice if they were.
(maybe someday they will be if home 'remodeling' ever comes to be)
I think that once people start building up the currants again, there'll be a gradual move a fair chunk of the ex-beta testers to the large 30k & 50k houses (since they're the ones with the head start and bagged the best houses), which will free up some prime estate in Groddle. Probably in only a few weeks we'll start seeing houses become available again.
*lucky owner of a ground-floor treehouse who'll upgrade to a 50k eventually* :D
Anyone who would like to have a shot at buying it from the game (after I sell it back) is welcome to make me an offer. Highest bidder will be IM'd immediately as I sell it, giving them the best chance at picking it up.
Alternatively, if there's no interest, it'll be up sometime today. Good luck, Glitches!
Edit - Bah! The house type I want is selling out, so I'm putting my old place up right nao! If you want a spot in the Meadows, it'll be up shortly!
I too foresee some kind of a housing turnover in a few weeks, what with Betas and new players like myself leveling up and pulling in more money. Personally, I'm not in love with the 30-50k homes because I'd like more tree patches available for that kind of money. The modern look isn't really my thing, either. :\
A few people have mentioned Uralia, and I agree; I'd be *really* thrilled if there was some housing over there. If there were some nice places there (not necessarily "luxury" housing), I'd very likely move there. I like the theme of that area, and the mines are close by, which I do a lot of anyway. Until then, my cave in the Heights will do me just fine...
since 30k/50k houses does not appear to be able to hold more piggies without making them feeling crowded. I am happy with my 5k house with its excellent location.
@PittyPat Do you wanna buy mine? I can sell you for 5K. It's not one house though, but one apartment. Good and unique opportunity: in Gregarious Grange.
I'm a newer player that lucked into a Meadow house right next to the street pole, and I can't say the more expensive houses have much of a draw for me over what I've got now. My ideal house would be similar in look to a Groddle cottage with two stories or one + basement and 3/4 patches, 1 dark patch, animal pen and whatever is standard for crop garden and cabinet sizes (28/32 I think?). That would be the perfect 50k home.
I just moved back into Groddle Forest today. It was nice living way out in the sticks for awhile, but it's great now living one block from the Great Hole to Ix.
There are real estate listings coming up all the time. You just need to stalk it like crazy to find a spot.
Houses in the Groddle come up for sale all the time, but they don't last long. If you really want to move, you have to do what I did. Get some bags and pack up everything you own and go outside. Open up a separate window that will allow you to sell your place. Then check the listings every few minutes until something you like opens up. Sell your existing house and buy the available house in the span of 10 seconds or so. It can be done.
