Spoiler - Item description change

The description for Fiber has changed. It now says:

A single sturdy hair brushed from the tail of a fox, ready for spinning into thread or stuffing into furniture for padding. Or just staring at in amazement and using as a unit of measurement for something really, really thin.

Value and capacity stay the same.

  • Dan.. oh Dan.. you stole my idea.  :>

I really really hope they'll change their minds about it being a wild animal and let us keep some in our yards, even if not inside our homes... ahhh I SO want a fox for a pet.  I would name him Mulder and feed him and brush him and love him and snuggle him ALL DAY LONG!!!!

  • I REALLY want to know what the foxes and sloths will look like. I wish TS would just give us a little teaser.

  • Oh, my gosh, I have saved up WAY more fiber than that...Oh, wait.  I don't have any, since I didn't get a stick.  Seems my bugs weren't bad enough, or frustrating enough.

And what makes you think the foxes won't be similar to the crabs - limited in location?  The truth is, nobody knows.  And regardless of how the foxes work, the people who got the stick have the opportunity to already have fiber in their possession, and those who didn't get the stick do not, except by the grace of someone who has the stick.  No matter how small it may be, it is still an advantage.

  • Are we still on about this?

OK, the question isn't whether it is an advantage.  The question is whether it is out of proportion to the disadvantage of losing things in the bug.  And to that, we do not know yet.  But the advantage of having more fiber from the beginning will A) only last as long as it takes for the rest of us to catch up (a day at most) and B) only matter so much as we're comparing ourselves to each other!

Here's a question: How do you win at Glitch?

    Here's another: Are you winning?

  • I just beat Glitch. The end guy was not that hard.

  • Surely the fact you know you're going to get the same fibre later in game should mean they will in future, not be at an advantage. It's all still just pixels and a game to enjoy, not get hissy over cos you can't have all the things.
Queue me avoiding the forum after this so I don't have to see the fallout.

  • I don't actually know that it won't be an advantage.  Maybe it won't be.  Or maybe we'll only be able to harvest the foxes once per game day.  But no matter what, some people will have an additional means of acquiring fibers.  Not because they earned the ability, but because they were afflicted with a bug.  Randomly.  And only those afflicted with one specific bug.  Cause, personally, I've been afflicted with bugs.  Just not the right bug.

I don't think anyone here is "getting hissy" about this.  I am enjoying the game; doesn't mean I have to agree with everything TS does.

  • Those affected with the few glitches that happened are at a somewhat disadvantage, I'd say.
Given more people lost half-to-almost all of their stuff.

While you, still have all your things. Or I could be wrong.
And the only thing they have is a stick that is used to collect stuff that isn't even utilized in the game yet.

With their huge sink in inventory, you don't necessarily see them calling out for fairness, no?

  • They may have lost "half-to-almost all of their stuff" for awhile, but they also got MOST if not ALL of their stuff back. There was no "huge sink in inventory" when all was said and done.
