Save the Rocks!

I love my rock. He is my friend. He gave me quests and learned all my skills. He taunted me a bit and made the occasional joke. But now, he just sits there. All bored. Staring down at me. Nothing to do.

Poor little dude is going mad from boredom. I mean, he must be, right. Nothing to do but watch me run about Ur doing whatever it is that I do.

I mean, sure I could unlearn and relearn skills, but that just seems cruel to the cute little bugger. After all the work he did for me to make him do it again just so I don't see his beady little eyes staring down at me.

Maybe once the skills are over, he could find a book to read of his liking. Or maybe he's a knitter? I bet he loves to knit! Though I'm not entirely sure how he'd hold the needles. Perhaps he's a tinkerer? He knows the skill... he learned it for me! Though I'm not sure he'd be comfortable playing with ground up and alcheminized rocks. Might make him ponder his own demise. (do not worry Mr. Rock! I would never grind you into magic rock dust!)

I dunno! There must be something he can do. Anything. Please help us keep our Rocks happy & occupied once we've learned all the skills. He just looks so sad with nothing to do. Sad sad little rock.

Why oh why won't anyone think of the Rocks?!

  • Remember....rocks have feelings too! Perhaps there should be a way for our rocks to help out the newer player's rocks? Like a rock consortium perhaps? Some sort of way to transfer the rock's learning cycles to others for faster learning? My $0.02 CAD, of course....

  • The Rock is obviously very intelligent and Glitch-savvy. Too bad he can't share the benefit of his knowledge and experience by giving us tips, reminders, and advice periodically. Don't silence the Rock!!

  • I vote either knitting or crochet. Our familiars need a hobby.

  • Yesss, the Rock needs to knit so he can make hideous Cosby sweaters for our Glitches to wear.

  • I actually do NOT like the rock.  He's more than a little too cutsie, calling me 'kid' and all. I do not appreciate that level of familiarity from rocks.

  • Maybe he could knit little aragumi style Glitch dolls.  Every 1011 Glitch hours that you are logged in to the game, you get a different doll

  • This op makes me go ~O.o~
I would *love* it if my Rock could sit up there knitting.  How cute it would be to see the needles going and little knitting projects being spun hanging down over the screen a little!  ^_^
And I love WindBorns idea of the Rock turning out arigurimi dolls for us. <3  They could be collectibles and traded amongst other skillfull knitting-rock glitches.

Oh please devs can we have this??  +1

  • OK - perhaps after a certain level of mining, we can learn the "Rock Relations" skill, in which we can ask our rock to perform certain tasks for us which would be completed as if we were learning a skill?  So for instance, we could ask him to tend our garden, and with rock relations, we'd be so influential over the power of stone that, somehow, an inanimate object would in fact, accomplish the task of tending our garden, without even having appendages.

Or perhaps we could build a "rockapult" that we could use to propel our little friend into a faraway location where he can scout for us (a skill that requires tinkering and eyeballery), with the caveat that he can't do anything for us (including learn skills) until we go to that location (which will allow us to retrieve him).

  • I wish to tell the rock to make me a sammich.
    But he's still learning things.
