Missing Floor Location

Go to Ilmenskie, and on the far left of the map at the edge, there is a mushroom.  Jump onto it and jump until you do a high jump.  This will take you right in!

  • The problem with outing it is that people go in and take all the stuff members of the group leave behind for quests.
At least with level 20 you needed a script to actually get in, that kept most of the people who just take stuff out.
I know there's been nothing to say this is the new HQ of the sandbox group, but I kinda got the impression that was the intended use.

  • thanks, had never been there. Left a snack.

  • Agreed, Mr Laser. That was my understanding of it as well, but if that's the case, it's entirely too easy to find.

  • This location is NOT for some elitist group, but rather all of Ur.  I doubt it will be well-traveled, as it is.  Besides, can't the group come up with a sensible means of quests? *sigh*

Anyway, another month, and we will likely  have new housing.  So that will end this debate.

  • Actually, I'm only level 19, and found it...once I knew it was in Uralia (from another thread), it wasn't hard.  Didn't need a script to get in...easy to get there...however, recognizing it is a key location for the sandbox group, left some additional goodies vice taking anything...nice folks in there!

  • When I said level 20 I was referring to the old place the group used.
It was level 20 of a housing block, but the lift only went up to 19, so you needed a script to get in :)

  • Ah, thanks for the clarification...yea, now that I understand...it makes more sense.  Yes, I think we all are anxious for those private clubhouses to build and design... :)

  • Actually Kirnan, we in the Sandbox totally agree that the room is for all of Ur, and make no claims to owning it whatsoever. And if you have a better idea for distributing quests, I am all ears, seriously.  Please contact me.

  • We'll have private halls soon enough that are not accessible to everyone. Sandbox just needed a private place to distribute missions. It was never a point to exclude anyone. In fact that was explicitly discussed. The Sandbox is focused on helping the community and sponsoring creativity. Anyone can join, and anyone can take part in the missions whether they're a member or not. It's hardly an elitist group. But if you feel that way, join for a bit and see for yourself! =]

  • It comes off as elitist when you try to make it secretive, and the fact that the old room was kept locked off unless you joined the group did seem prohibitive, as most people probably did not know about the room.  I didn't even know about the room, and I have been in the group for months.

  • Kirman - you may have beeen "in the group" but you apparantly did not read the forums where it was openly discussed. EVERYONE who asked got a script made by another member of the group. With over 1200 members and completely open membership, that could hardly be called elitist.

ETA: we did not lock off the room - that is just the way it was.

  • At any rate, I would say then, the group asking for some special room seems a bit silly, if there is no reason for it.
Posted 12 months ago by Kirnan Subscriber! | Permalink
  • And specifically, how is this impeding on your enjoyment of the game? It has enhanced dozens of others' Glitch experience, so I would consider that a good thing.
Posted 12 months ago by Kookaburra Subscriber! | Permalink
  • It is not impeding at all, I was merely observing asking for a special room seems a bit contradictory to the message of being more open, when any street in the game would suffice.

  • I'll be kind of sad if the new group housing eliminates us using this new place.  I love the new area.  The only way I won't be sad is if group housing is even *more* awesomer than this place.

  • @Kirnan -- "asking for a special room" isn't exactly accurate, since there WAS a room (Level 20) which the Sandbox group was using (although it was open to anyone who could figure out how to get there, or anyone who joined the group), and it was deleted by TS staff during a clean-up.  People were just asking to have their HQ *back*, not asking to have a special place made for them in the first place.

(I think it's awesome that the Sandbox group found and shared the original Missing Floor, and left gifts for everyone to share . . . although politeness would indicate that it would be nice to leave something if you take something.)

But, yeah.  Not an elitist/exclusivist space, just a neat surprise spot that is part of the magic of Glitch :)

(Also, "any street in the game" really wouldn't work for something like the Sandbox group -- you can't have shared housing yet, since only 100 keys can be made for any given location, and leaving things out in the open would lead to people completely cleaning the place out on a regular basis.  It seems fair to have a semi-private space for planning fun activities, which is open to anyone who finds it, and is very welcoming to new people, as I found!)

  • Annnnd now the place is practically bare of food and several of the piggies (and their feeder) are stolen.  This is why we can't have nice things :/

(Now I'm off to incubate some piggy eggs.)
