Slumbering quietly in an ever-so-slightly neglected corner of our website, there has always been a feature known to its visitors as The Encyclopedia.
And now, as a big ‘ol Glitchmas present to all of you, we've just launched a pretty comprehensive overhaul of the beast itself!
The newness includes...
A general increase in attractiveness
A smidge of spit here, a dab of polish there... mostly polish, though, because who wants to browse an encyclopedia that's covered in spit? Anyway, it did the trick.
Find-as-you-type search
Ever wanted to know more about Lem, Lemburgers, the street Tlemcen and the skill Element Handling, all at once? Now you can, just by entering the letters "l", "e" and "m" in the search box on the main encyclopedia page!
There are also find-as-you-type boxes in the other sections of the Encyclopedia, for quickly unearthing the items, achievements, skills or locations you seek!
New Skills and Achievements pages
Both Skills and Achievements are now categorized to help you make a bit more sense of the dazzling array of options.
In addition, when you're logged in the page will indicate which skills you're skilled in, or the achievements you've achieved. For the go-getters out there, you can filter the page to only show the things you haven't done yet.
Better Location listings
Who wants to read a big long boring list of street names? The main location index now lists locations by hub, with a small map of the region beside a list of its streets. Each hub has its own separate page too, with a full-size map so you can get the lay of the land.
Finally, all the location pages will show you which streets you've visited, which should make it easier to track down those elusive Completist achievements you've so tenaciously pursued.
Giants!
The mythic founders of Ur have now been brought juuust a bit closer. The pages of the Encyclopedia now hold each of their stories, a portrait in their likeness, and references to the skills that fall under their domain.
We hope that you like the new and (we think) vastly improved encyclopedia. Happy browsing!
Note: Some Greasemonkey scripts, extensions, and browser add-ons may not work and in fact might cause you trouble with the new encyclopedia pages.
