"Rebuild Nippon" shirt

I love the idea of the "rebuild Nippon" shirt (in fact, I'm sporting it now) but.... the red circle with the radiating red lines is the Japanese WAR flag. The standard Japanese (Nihonjin) flag is just the solid red circle (representing the rising sun) on a white field.

  • Actually, the red circle with radiating lines is currently used by the Maritime Self-Defense Force, but yeah, I can see where you're coming from.

Nihonjin/nipponjin means "Japanese person" by the way.

  • Perhaps it comes from the shirt/poster currently circulating in California.

  • Wah I posted too late.

You mean this? I haven't actually heard of that specific shirt until this was brought up.

  • @Liridona, I actually knew Nihonjin means Japanese person, as I am one. :D
