This is something I was pondering the other day amidst shucking some silvertongue.
If the only way to get seeds, is to plant another seed, grow it and then shuck the herb..
Then where did the seed come from in the first place?!
I heard this from a glitch who knew an old bog glitch.
First the chicken crossed the street. (No one really knows why but that's another story.)
The chicken pecked at a colorful plant by the path and seeds fell out all around startling the poor pullet. It flew off with a squawk leaving the seeds and that's where a glitch nicknamed Hoover picked 'em up. Hoover picked up everything he saw on the ground even if he didn't need it. He'd see something on the ground, start making this whooo sound and would knock anyone down to get it. Anyway, he traded the seeds to a bog glitch for a jellisac pudding.
ChooJeremy and daniel5457 are correct...in the very beginning of the herbs, the seed came first as a drop from the dust traps...and back then we only had community gardens to plant them in...no herbal plots in the bog houses originally (no herbal quest back then for the rock to give you the starter flowers either)....wow, now I feel like an ancient here...sigh...and we had to walk uphill to/from school in 3 foot of snow in the summer...oh, wait, that's something else entirely...
Answer: One day during Alphabeta, one of the giants (who shall remain anonymouse) ate too any donations and burped odd flora-like particulates into a dust trap heshe was toying with.
So yes, serendipity played a large part in this creation as well as gastric imagination.
