Why is there so few people in the ancestral lands?

Ancestral lands have been very good to me. I made more than a thousand trip there.

I estimated that I must have get more than 2 million energy and 1 million currants from these trips.

It usually take me less than 3 minutes to get my energy to the max, between two TP (one in, one out).
And it had never been the case that I could not get enough energy to TP out. In less than 1% of these trips, I was not able to get it to the max.

But I am surprised that I meet so few people in the AL. Why?

Thinking more about it, I believe it is self-regulating: if there were much more people visiting the AL, then it would no longer be worth it, so people would no longer visit. I guess it pays to be persistent and to continue to go.

  • I'm thinking alot of people are spending alot of time playing with their new house/visiting other people's new houses.  Most of the world seems less crowded than it was a couple months ago.  Or, hoarding for the new Woodworking and Metalworking skills.

Either way, more quoins and sand traps for the rest of us?

  • Because we are leaving it all to you. :)

But really, I just forget to go there. When I remember it is to harvest the paper trees. But I just don't remember to do that too often.

    Have fun tho. :)

  • As Joni Mitchell said "They paved paradise and put up a parking lot".

    You know why?

Because the people who lived there boasted about what a paradise it was.

  • Why TP out?    If you go /home while you're in the ancestral lands your guilt reverses and you can use that energy to craft &tc.  Then when you re-enter the world you can keep running over traps and bouncing for quoins.

  • @WalruZ Indeed, why TP out?
I am TPing out, because I want to get the high TP badge (10,009). When I will get it in one or 2 month, I'll stop TPing out.

  • Can't believe I didn't think of that WalruZ. And here I've been standing there doing my crafting while in the AL! Well hey, I'm real, and I'm smart, but I'm not real smart. Thanks for the tip :)

  • I've actually been trying to knock out my completist badges in the AL whenever i can, so you might see me there..... :)

  • I go there periodically. Right now I've been trying to gather as many resources as possible (Out in Ur.. Gasp!) so that I can make beans upon beans for XP and leveling. When I stop gathering long enough, I usually do pop over to AL for a bit, to get some nice XP and currant coins. It just depends on how much time I have and how I can fit in the different things.

  • I still go there from time to time for the paper trees.  Still working on the highest of those truly evil badges.

  • I find it depends on when you go it seems to me all the quoins are gone between 11AM and maybe 7-9PM (-6 GWM here) all other times it's empty and lot's of traps and quoins to collect.

  • Because I value my pickle and gng and always worry a little that the juju's may ambush me!

  • Jujus only steal the things that the AL traps can drop.  They don't want your pickle or your gng.

  • Really Fnibbit!! I had no idea - I'll have to go back there more often now then!

  • I went there to get my completist badges and I've never been back since. There are no resources and you have a limited time there I just don't see any reason why I would want to go.

  • I could list a bunch of reasons why it's worth going to the AL but actually, I really don't want more people to go there :0)

  • I never see anyone there but the signs are always down.

  • Octo, the coins there are really high value coins, so you get tons of mood/energy/currants/XP. I used to go there midday almost every game day to fill up on energy and mood again; it's a free refill that only takes a few minutes (and is especially lovely when you're low on food)! There's also lots of goodies in the traps, like snocones, gems, powders...

  • I saw a lot of people there the last time I went several days ago!

  • I've got loads of every seed, so I don't bother going very often any more.  Too busy herbing it up!

  • I love the ancestral lands. it's a fun place to run around when you remember!

  • I don't see a lot of other players, but the sprung traps are clear enough indications that they've been there.  I went through one whole street without any unsprung traps a couple days ago.

  • I love the ancestral lands, just don't always remember to head out there...still not sure what I'm saving all my TP tokens for...have plenty...guess I'm ever hopeful we'll have street projects again someday (though, won't need them to teleport home anymore...hmmm...)...well, maybe I need to head out to safari country...

Though I do prefer to go out there during off-peak US hours, to actually get something.  I guess now that I'm at a level for now that I want to be, and have plenty of currants, I just don't go out as much either.  But after all the releases are done...I'll be back there again...

  • Bumped in to 4 people on my last trip. If I remember to get in early, when I don't need the energy there are good pickings and I can make up to 2 thousand C. Plus sometimes a meditation ball and some gems. Today though, just keys and paper. Only an average of one trap per two streets was not popped.

  • Absolutely depends on game time, as before. While not as crowded as it once was I'm still doing runs with most the traps popped and running into people..

    Also.../home anyone? Craft, /leave, refill, /home. repeat.
