Right...so maybe there should be a limit? Or! Perhaps the power of the emblems shouldn't be permanent. Since they are a sign of devotion to a giant, perhaps the giant should keep tabs on whether you are still serving their cause faithfully, or just taking a bonus from the emblem and not giving back enough. If you aren't, the emblem would gradually lose its power?
I like the notion of giants, as they are already tied to certain skills and elements in the game, being sort of...hm, spiritual guides for glitchizens. You could devote yourself to planting trees and try to follow a path that pleases Spriggan the most- it could have actual rewards and consequences, instead of just being a random behaviour you could drop at any time. Of course, people could still casually drift from shrine to shrine and give wherever they pleased, and be rewarded randomly, but those who would actually follow the path belonging to their favourite Giant would be climbing a particular reward and status ladder.
Position on that ladder should not be too easy to keep, though.
I hesitate to call it religion but it's as close as I would be comfortable getting to it.
I already have about 80 emblems in my house, consolidating them is a good idea. They don't have to consolidate their entire bonus, though. The bonus can be about 1/4 of each one on its own, ending up with a single space taking tablet that gives as much bonus as 3-5 emblems. There could also be other ingredients involved in making the tablet, such as mined rocks and maybe some planks of wood to make it harder to mass produce them. In the long run they would be worth it!
Like Johnny, I have them scattered all over my house with no idea what to do with them. Clearly, something should be done, and turning them into a super-emblem is a good idea.
Surprised to hear people have so many emblems already, I missed the first few tests but I'm at level 13 and havnt got a single emblem yet.
For those with multiple, can you remember what level you got your first?
@Mat I got my First Emblem of Spriggan around level 6 I believe. While it is possible to gain favor points by completing quests, it's really more about donating to the shrine of the giant you would like the emblem of!
I didn't think I needed to get emblems at all until I got to the point where it was required for skills. I got my first emblem somewhere in the mid to late teens.
Thank for that, I didnt mean to hijack the thread. I have the shrine powder recipe and plan was planning to mine enough to make a few of those.
I do like the idea of being able to combine one of each into some form of super-token, but there's always a risk of unbalancing the game if that token is too powerful or too useful.
That said, even if the combined token did nothing for you, it'd should still be an option.
