Cebarkul vine, I hate you so much, why do you taunt me?

I would like the map designers to change the Cebarkul vine to be climbable. Everytime I see it, it taunts me. It hangs so low, at perfect jumping height, screaming "Climb me! Climb me!" but then I can't and it feels like a cruel joke has been played on me. It frustrates me to no end.

No this is not a joke, I really do hate it. It frustrates me in that "I feel like punching a wall" type way. Please change it.

  • Maybe in their haste they just forgot to activate this vine's "climbiness"? You could try putting this in the Bug section and find out for sure.

  • It looks like it is trying to grow itself into a noose.  I suppose there should be one in the game. A place for miserable glitches to end it all.

  • They most certainly did it on purpose, none of the vines are climbable in Cebarkul, and many other locations have vines that can't be climbed. But it's the most flagrant vine fakeout in the game, it's centered below the platform at perfect jumping and latching height. The vines in Cebarkul on the yellow platform are both generally inaccessible and do not contain a long strand in the middle. As such, they do not bother me. But the vine to the right of the log is a different story. I just want them to make it climbable or remove the center strand that causes so much frustration.

  • I agree with everything Haze has to say on this matter!

    This vine makes me feel like a cat chasing a laser pointer. I'll never catch it and I'll never stop trying. I'll just slowly go insane....!! o.0 !!

  • I was just in Cebarkul and witnessed Haze hard at work raising awareness to this problem!  I just wanted to thank him publicly for his tireless work regarding this subject, and commend him on his methods.

    If you care about this issue, you could go far wrong by not following his example.

    In the beginning, the Giants created the heaven and the earth. And then they created the vines, and it was good. But the Giants divided the climbable from the unclimbable.

    Let us not wallow in the valley of despair, I still have a dream. It is a dream deeply rooted in the Great dream, the vine dream.

    I have a dream that one day Ur will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all vines are created equal."

    I have a dream that vines will not be judged by whether developers proclaimed them climbable, but they shall judged by the content of their climbability.

    We didn't land on Cebarkul vine, the Cebarkul vine landed on us. This vine was brought here against our will. But now that we have been awakened to some degree, and we begin to ask things that should exist for all vines, they look upon us with hostility and unfriendliness.

    A vine divided against itself can not stand. I believe this world cannot endure permanently half climbable and half unclimbable. I do not expect the world to be dissolved -- I do not expect the vine to fall -- but I do expect it will cease to be divided. It will become all one thing, or all the other.

    Either the opponents of vine will arrest the further spread of it, and place it where the public mind shall rest in the belief that it is in the course of ultimate extinction; or its advocates will push it forward, till it shall become alike climbable in all the streets, old as well as new -- Oktyabrya as well as Cebarkul.

    To climb or not to climb, that is the question: Whether tis nobler of the mind to suffer the slings and arrows of outrageous falls or take arms against a sea of useless vines, and by opposing end them? To die, to sleep, no more.

    Gentlemen may cry, Peace, but there is no peace. The war is actually begun! The next gale that sweeps from the vines will bring to our ears the clash of resounding arms! Our brethren are already in the field! Why stand we here idle? What is it that the developers wish? What would they have? Is life so dear, or peace so sweet, as to be purchased at the price of chains and slavery? Forbid it, Almighty God! I know not what course others may take; but as for me, give me vine climbing or give me death!
