Shiny element vs. Chunk of shiny price

Okay, so I have been testing the auctions and the suggested prices for things. And there is something that works against people wanting to sell certain things.

For instance.. the suggested price for a chunk of shiny is 10 each. Thus if you have 50 chunks you get 500 currents.

On the other hand the suggested price for shiny element is 1 each. When you grind 50 chunks of shiny, you only get 130 shiny element. That way if you sell the chunks you make 500, but if you grind it and sell the elements, it gets reduced to 130 currents. It makes no sense. The suggested price for elements should be AT LEAST 10 each, and 12 if you want to get people grinding and auctioning more. That way it would be worth it to spend energy and time grinding.

  • Oh, I should add, that the more steps it gets to create something, the more valuable it should be. That way, a really stinky cheese should be way more expensive than butterfly milk. In the same manner with dusts, elements and chunks. Etc.

Other things to take into consideration is how scarce something is, how many things you can create with it, and how much making it taxes your energy, mood and tools.

  • Another thing that I notice is that the suggested auction price for certain things is below the price you can get if you sell it to certain vendors: sapphire gems for instance.

  • "if you want to get people grinding and auctioning more"

that is quite an assumption, i think. also note, that when you grind a chunk of SPARKLY you get multiple elements (at least at my maxed skill level) I got 16 elements total off 1 chunk of SPARKLY (5 red, 1 green, 4 blue, 6 shiny)

I also don't think it's inherantly bad that something is "suggested" at auction to be less than what you can sell it to a vendor for. Your example of sapphire gems, well, there isn't any in game use BUT to donate or sell these items, so there's no shortage of these. a suggestion below what you can sell in game just means players are less likely to clutter the auction page with stuff nobody wants because donating or selling in game is the better option.(that goes 100x for amber)

that said, there are a few weird things with suggested price going on. I'm not sure why some drinks have a suggest AT their retail price, and some just under, for example (cloud 11 vs. earthshakers) but it is a suggestion, and as the game grows and as different events happen, and the auctions get more active I'm sure things will find their own price.
