It doesn't matter that is isn't level between you and someone else, or even you and your old character. It's a brand spankin' shiny new level complete with a new ui, new currancy and new exp/img system. It's fair to all, 'since it's a change to all.
Does anyone ever want a level playing field? I only ever hear complaints about something being too hard for the complainer, which suggests that everyone wants things to be easier/better for them than anyone else. That makes a lot more sense (despite the logical impossibility) in terms of human nature.
I don't put much stock in where I "ought to be" versus any other players. I've seen a ton of players that reached the level cap, have stupid amounts of currants and goods stockpiled, but I don't feel like I'm somehow being cheated. I don't know how much time they have to play, and I'm not interested in the style of play that requires a doctorate in math and utter concentration for every second for absolute efficiency.
I enjoy being largely self sufficient, doing a variety of activities every time I play, setting and accomplishing goals, like getting a skill or finishing a quest, or getting an icon for a particular giant. As far as that goes, I think the last change release left me largely where I was. I can still gather and make all the things I used to, and I haven't been disturbed enough by any slow downs in amounts of resources or bonuses gathered to worry about it.
I'm finding the process of picking and choosing among the Upgrade cards a lot of fun. The new processes for customizing my character and my /home are a huge step forward in the direction of creativity that I've been hoping for for ages in this game. I hope TS keeps that direction and goes even further with new projects for groups, and even activities affecting the world of Ur.
@Montooli: Then spend the iMg you were seeded with to improve your energy pot. Enrgy cards seem to be the only ones I get, and a huge pot isn't necessarily a Good Thing
@IrenicRhonda I think a lot of people would like to spend IMG on the upgrades they want. The current biggest problem is not being able to do that because there's no way to get to those cards.
All I care about is that I'm playing the same game that the really fun people who are my friends are playing! Glitch still has those people playing this game, so I'm here. It just so happens that at lower levels all this new stuff is also really fun to play with...
@IrenicRhonda, that is a good idea, I think I will do that. Does anyone know if spending IMG means you have to regain that IMG in order to get to the next level?
Or to put it another way, look at how much IMG you need to reach the next level. Then spend some IMG on an upgrade. Then look again at how much you need to reach the next level. You will see that there was no penalty for spending IMG.
Yes there is. Every single game day (that's ever 4 hours IRL) you can shuffle your cards for a new set. Rinse, lather, repeat. Or shuffle, shuffle, shuffle.
