Hehehehe! Mine do that all the time too. <3 I take it as they're just super happy about being together with each other, they just *have* to cry out and let you know!
I don't know. My pigs used to do it too (no piggies now). It wigs me out when it happens though. lol It's like they've become a hive-mind or something. Resistance is futile.
We are the Porg. Lower your grain and surrender your produce. We will add your food reserves and remote herdkeeping distinctiveness to our own. Your culture will adapt to pet and husban-breed us. Resistance is futile. #_* Join the porcine mind.
If you over-populate piggies and don't have enough chickens or butterflies to go with, this message can happen. You can also get a message about over-crowding and them being unhappy. Adding other animals can make either message go away, but there are limits and then it won't matter.
In a smaller home, 10 piggies, 8 chickens, 5 butterflies does well.
In a medium home, 18-20 piggies, 10 chickens, 5-8 butterflies.
In a large home, 28-30 piggies, 10 chickens, 5-8 butterflies.
In all cases, 6-7 piggy feeders, 3 butterfly milkers, and 10 meat collectors are your optimum mix. Although with the meat collectors, try to keep it at 3 per pig for best effect.
@Malc: Have you verified your large home numbers?
I have 25 piggies, 16 butterflies, and no chickens. So I'm 8 higher than your max on butterflies, and 5 lower on the max for piggies. And yet I can seem to add no more.
Butterflies, no, I have not verified that exactly. It differs depending on the home. A bog home, far fewer than a 30k or 15k home out in the open.
As to CrashTestPilot, add some chickens, and you'll be able to add more piggies.
There may be some defined limit of max animals, but I do know if you don't balance them out, they get unhappy and you're stuck until you add something else. Eventually, it's just too overcrowded altogether, but whether that number is 40ish, or just based on the home and type of animal, I don't know.
Thanks, Kevbob -- I was afraid I was doing something wrong when it happened to me, even though I had a pretty good pig/chicken/butterfly mix (never more than 6 of each) . . . it's reassuring to know that they're just expressing contentment! :D
