Tree Lessons Learned

I am working on the Tree Badges and with those, associated Badges as well.

This includes Achievements for:  Essences, Potions, Chopping, Clearing Weedy Patches (which are Tree patches and NOT weedy at all), Planting Trees, Seasoning Beans, etc.

I have been Poisoning and using Antidote for some time and got two badges for saving trees already.  I also have poisoned my Wood tree several times and let it die so I could replant.

Lesson:  When a Wood tree dies:
1. You Do Not get to Clear it.
2. It leaves the wood in a neat pile for you to get.
3.  There is NO Project, you get a bare patch to plant - no fuss

Lesson:  When you kill any other Tree:
1. You get a Dead Tree to Clear
2. You then get a Project, not a bare patch
3. You must complete the project with Beans, Bubbles, Spice and Gas using a Hoe and Irrigation device
4. The completed Project gives you a Patch to plant, you need a Seasoned Bean, Hoe and Irrigation device

You also are going to use a lot of Energy so be prepared for that.

I was so used to no project with the Wood tree that I never thought there would be one with the others and was surprised when I killed all 6 trees in the front yard at the same time.  I was expecting 6 Patches and got 6 Projects - Lol!  Fortunately for me I have hoarded all necessary items required but the work did use a bit of energy.  I was also fortunate to start this in the "afternoon" and I completed all 6 projects about 3 hrs. before the New Day.

While working on this I have also earned Badges for Potions, Essences and Seasoned Beans.

  • Thanks for this great info. I wasn't sure how it would work.

  • Really? I plant/poison fruit trees in my back yard constantly and have not had a project yet.

  • Killed trees do not give projects unless the patch was at 0% health while the tree was alive. However, patch health is worn down fairly quickly by killing/replanting many trees in the same patch, and tree chopping badge-seekers will eventually have to repair their patches.

  • Thanks for the additional information.  I have killed my Wood tree repeatedly and planted a new one so maybe it is always at 100%?  Some of the trees in the front yard have been there a while but the Egg plant is fairly new.  All had projects when I killed them except the Wood tree which has been killed and replaced almost daily for about a week.  When checking the condition of trees I never have seen a percentage, it just says "Lifespan 1 Tree".  I have never known what percentage a tree is at in my yards.

The Wood tree is in the back  and the other six are in the front.  I seem to have few visitors so I don't know how often the trees have been tended by guests.  I guess with my Bot I may find out.

I do enjoy the projects and am always happy to get one but six at once threw me a little - Lol!  Perhaps I should kill and replace them all daily?

ETA the above Lifespan message.  I never get a percentage and I do check often.

  • You do know that wood tree badges for growing them doen't require a new tree all the time, just do the same tree, thats what I did and now have finished those badges. :)
