How many planks for a Wall Segment

You need 176 planks to create a Wall Segment + 15 Barnacle Talc. Create 44 Boards from 176 planks, then use 32 boards to create 8 Wood Posts and finally create 1 Beam with with 4 Wood posts.

48  Planks to create 12 Boards
64 Planks to create 4 Wood Posts
64 Planks to create 1 Beam

I did this fast so check my work.

Thanks ....

  • And how many Planks do you get from a regular harvest of Wood, not a super harvest and with no tree based upgrades?

So how many harvests are needed to create 1 wall segment?

  • Well a full grown tree I harvest 80 from each tree.  But that varies with tree growth.
Posted 7 months ago by Webbie Subscriber! | Permalink
  • So that's like, 2 harvests per Wall Segment, plus a shit ton of fuel.  :P

  • Yep, each was segment burns through about 1.5 Fuel Cells.

  • We're having an industrial revolution all up in heah.  Cubimal labour!  Urthal warming!  Peak jellisac!

  • Yeh, to be honest.........Fuel cell costs (and usage) seem to be much too high. Can this please get tweaked?

  • Interesting tip:  Remember how when you rebuilt a machine it would have 50 fuel?  And, that got nerfed for some good reasons, down to 10 fuel?  Well...  I don't know if it works rebuilding a machine the old way, but if you have the upgrade card that lets you rebuild it in one go, it has 50 fuel!

If this is a bug, it should tide most people over until fuel costs are tweeked.  On the other hand, consider what your speed of building your house might be like if you were starting at level 5...  You might have more time to build fuel cells before you need to use your wood worker, if you could do either at all...

  • omg. i should have checked the dang boards. i just was penciling all this out.

    here's my strategy:

    1. Gather 176 planks and 15 barnacles
    2. Have enough fuel (that could be another post)
    3. Make 44 boards
    4. Make 8 posts
    5. Make 1 beam
    6. Crush 15 barnacles
    7. Make wall segment

  • Remind me now.. how much resources are needed for the fuel..?

  • You need 68 units of fuel for a wall segment.  (Figured it out this morning.)

    1 Fuel Cell is:
    2 White Gas
    8 Block of Peat
    12 Clump of Jellisac
Posted 7 months ago by Lucille Ball Subscriber! | Permalink
  • Ergo:
    168 White Gas
    544 Peat Blocks
    816 Jellisacs.
    is that correct?

    Start scooping.

  • No, one fuel cell = 50 units of fuel.  You need to make two and you'll have a little left in your woodworker when you're done.
Posted 7 months ago by Lucille Ball Subscriber! | Permalink
  • Yes, so that's:

     4 White Gases
    +16 Peat Blocks
    +24 Jellisacs
    -----------------------
2 Fuel Cells = 100 units of power

Which is not bad, unless everyone else and their brother and sister and second cousin are trying to do the same thing.

  • I've found that having two peat bogs, two Jellisac mounds and a gas tree in your yards (this is pre reset) is a great way to stock up in a steady manner.  I'm sure that with higher limits on what we can put in our yards, you can optimize this nicely.
Posted 7 months ago by Carl Projectorinski Subscriber! | Permalink
  • Indeed.  I was just thinking of those trying to hunt in the wilds yesterday.  Chakra Phool was a crazy busy place. :)

  • I'm actually appreciating that something is a challenge to create again. I had stockpiled a bunch of planks while petting wood trees to full size, but the energy was a chore. Still, I managed to get the second floor built.
Now if I just had more stuff to put there.

  • I was short on jellisacs so I've imagined four mounds in my yard for now. :-)

  • I now have all 3 floors and 3 house expansions.  I'm going to build out the house to maximum size before I start decorating.  I need to be able to visualize my palette size before I start.

  • The prices on construction materials and fuel components is shameful at the moment, even selling off my spare odds and ends has generated about 300,000 and I've been pitching the prices low and buying stuff I don't have judiciously.
