Parody of how the hellish cold taco became there

Once upon a time, the god of hell was getting bored with the blandness of the red, black, or white of everything. Everyday, he would find out about that lucky Scion of Purple who got a whole REALM OF PUPRLE! He didn't even want this job, he wanted to be a vendor, but when he sold stuff, people made fun of him for being grey. So, to spice up life, he added the worlds spiciest, awesomest, placed-in-the-world's-hottest place but suprisingly cold still, Taco. But the thing about this taco, is that it was unreachable, pretty soon, people tricked him, but he fixed it, but they still can! To this day, he loves watching glitchen try to get up there.

The end

  • Taco Assassin: you don't have to do anything: just relax and stop posting here. It will drop of the page when no one posts for a while. I still have no idea what the problem was in the first place.

  • AwesomeCardinal2000: I can't think of any situation where we would delete a whole thread with responses from several people. The person starting the thread does not have special rights over the comments posted by everyone else.

  • Everyone calm the f down.
    I got this.
Taco? Thank you for your kind remarks.
Everyone? Let's let the staff get back to work.

And also, everyone? The CEO of the company whose game you like is responding to you.

Tell me the last time that happened to you. Outside of Ur.

    Doesn't.

We have something so special here.
    Let's not mess it up.

This is a great community. Let's not let nerves poison the well.

  • I apologize for my suggestion to the OP to change the title and text of the original post. I've seen many people do it here before, and the mechanics of the forum allow it, so I didn't realize it would be such a big issue at the time. I guess I should have... I'm sorry again (slinks of with tail between legs).

  • Let's just hug it out and stop bugging people.

  • I'm going to lock this and just chalk it up as a mystery: Taco, I still don't have the slightest idea why you wanted the thread deleted or why this seemed so urgent to you — it was a useful, on-topic discussion which stayed relevant while many different people gave their opinions. The reason we have forums is for discussions like this.

But given that we've now spun down to only discussing whether it can/should have been deleted and the ethics of editing posts after the fact, I think it is safe to wrap it up.

(Shepardmoon, you don't have to apologize or have your tail between your legs. My opinion is that editing a post to nonsense is disrespectful to the people who took the time to respond thoughtfully in the first place and dilutes the usefulness of the forums since (a) future readers find it hard to understand the conversation and (b) it will unlikely to be read anyway, since it appears totally irrelevant in the archives and in future search results. But …

… having said that, I think people should be allowed to edit their posts or even remove all their own text if they wish. Editing for clarity, especially if the edit is noted/marked, is usually appreciated by everyone. And sometimes one simply needs to just bow out — replacing everything with a "." or some such is a good way to do that. So, suggesting that Taco edit the original post was not worthy of feeling badly about.)
