can't stop moving forwards (MacOS 1.5.8 on Intel mac- Firefox)

Ever since it started giving me the warning that my flash player is old (it says please upgrade to v11), when I enter the world I keep moving forwards and can't stop.  I am running the most current version of flash that will run on Intel Macs running MacOS 1.5.8--I can't upgrade flash to v11.

Thanks for your help!

  • This is happening to me too. I've got the same operating system and have the most advanced update of flash that I can get.

  • I had same exact problem. Turns out we need to upgrade to Snow Leopard---it is the one with OS X 10.6 which will allow the upgrade to Flash 11. Snow Leopard costs $29.99. If you ever want to upgrade to Lion, you will need Snow Leopard anyway.

  • Can you try it on Chrome or Safari in the meantime?

  • Worked using Chrome, but still won't work on Safari or Firefox.  I am still going to upgrade to Snow Leopard anyway.

  • Just press the direction key you're going in, that usually fixes it for me.

  • Ok, OS X v10.6.3 (Snow Leopard) installed. I was able to then install Adobe Flash 11. Everything is working beautifully in Safari, Firefox and Chrome. Whoo Hoo!

  • I've been using Firefox (OSX 10.5.8 -- I'm in the same position, I'd need to pay to upgrade, and I'm planning on eventually replacing my elderly Mac rather than putting any more money into it), and the problem just occurred for me the first time this morning.  Glitch was working just fine for me in Firefox up until now -- did something change last night?

Switching to Safari seems to fix it for now, but I'd been using Firefox because you can't tab between Safari and another program without having Glitch problems . . . which makes it hard when you have to use the calculator to figure out donations.

    Argh!

  • Also -- scratch that, it isn't working properly in Safari, either.  The arrow keys don't work, I have to use my mouse to move forward.  (This is the problem I was running into if I was tabbing back and forth between Safari and the calculator, but now it's doing it even if I log into and out of the world.)

    *sad*

  • I have a PC, WIN7, Firefox 8 (updated this past week), Flash 11 something.  My Glitch has been running madly for several days.  I can stop her and turn her but it is getting tiresom.  Climbing is insanely difficult because she keeps running off the edges (Clamber Crag for example).  I had this problem for a day or two before I updated FF which I hoped might stop the running.  A refresh helps for a while but she eventually gets the "runs" again.  I have tried other browsers but prefer FF.  I play about two hours at a time but sometimes I have to quit sooner because all the insane running wears me out.

BTW, I have a second laptop.  It is the same brand, same OS, same AV, etc.  My Glitch has always run insanely on that one and I can't stand to play.  I bought it to play my games on when traveling but so far it is just too tiresome to use for Glitch.  It is a mystery to me as to why two laptops with the same setup work differently.

Works fine in Chrome in the few minutes since I switched to try.

  • Chrome 15.0.874.121 is fine so far as movement, but has the still has chat-lag problem. Any word on when that might be resolved?

  • Safari definitely not working--lots of errors on loading and so slow it took me half an hour to even try to load!

  • Brib Annie, I'm sorry for your troubles, but your post really made me laugh! Especially the thought of you trying so hard to get your glitch to the top of a crag, and have it run off again. I hope you get it fixed soon, I really do. In the meantime, do you fancy a Game of Crowns? x
