Best area to have a house?

Hi. I'm looking into buying a house. Does anyone have any suggestions on where to have a house? I saw the model house in Akolol which was nice, so I was thinking that would be a nice place. I have about 50,000 saved up so far. Also how much is the most expensive house in this game?

  • I'm enjoying my latest (50K currant) house and the views in Salatu.

Groddle is nice if you don't care for the hazy colors. I really did not like the colors in Bortola aside from at home. I liked the bog houses close to Groddle, except the music there got to me when I was at home. I personally like to be close to a grocer and a subway, but you might be better than I am at setting teleportation points. The most expensive house is 50,000 currants.

I think lots of changes are coming in the area of housing, so what's best will likely change with a bit of time.

  • So if I buy a house and end up not liking it, how much will I get back for selling it?

  • You get 80% of what you paid if you sell it.

  • Personally I really want a 50k home in Alakol.. but I'm waiting even if there is housing available (I say that now... ;D). Things are going to 'drastically' change so hazy on the buy button.. From the blog:

"A bit further down the road we’ll be making it possible to completely customize your house (from furnishings and wallpaper to shelving and lights). Depending on the house’s basic plan, you may also be able to upgrade and expand, adding rooms or new floors. And all the land-development features coming up for the group locations will also apply to your back yard."

  • Might as well learn BA2 because the permits for building are going to be expensive :p
Oh wait that's real life leaking in ....

Really only need one more room in my house with shelves, it'll be packed more than a cartoon hallway closest about to burst :)

  • I have a house in Groddle Meadows and love it, its hard to get one there though. I'd probally like Bortola a lot too, since my first home was a forest cottage in Muufo and I loved it, but it was a bit too small -_- I don't care for the Firebogs, but I know a lot of Glitches love them. I think the 30k and 50k houses is a bit impersonal though and too big to run around in - great if you want to keep lots of animals though. ^_^

  • I love my place in Bortola. For looks, features and location I think it's one of the best deals.

  • I live in a 50k Andra house. Love the look of the house, the view and the animal pen, but I don't like Andra itself. Thinking about buying a 15k Groddle Meadows house if someone moves. Trade anyone?

  • Is there an easier way to look up which houses are available for sale other than going to that location and clicking on every single lot?

  • Real estate listings :) Available from the home page.

  • I love my 50k house in on Lunu Lane in Salatu.  I'm only one street from the subway, a produce vendor and a grocery vendor.  The only thing I wish is that all those garden plots I have could be used to grow herbs too.

  • I got my cave based on what I needed (trees for cooking, more or less) and have not regret it, despite it being a really small home. Also a great location too with the resources and what's on the street outside. (<3 the quoins.)

But yeah, other than the location, I'd say look for a house in an area you enjoy. Generally it's the best if you can go to the area where the house you're looking to buy is located and look around first before deciding.

  • I love living in Besara. It's close to mining and it's kinda out of the way so it's not crowded. I find my computer gets really laggy whenever I'm in Groddle or Lx because there are so many people there and I don't care for socializing so living far away from the subway works for me.

  • I had a Groddle tree house but there wasn't much floor space for my stuff. I have a 50K house in Salatu and am loving the floor space, the animal pen, and the big cabinet.  28 plots was really sweet for growing pumpkins too.

I'd be in the firebog if they had bigger houses there.  I may move if the customization system lets us add the features the 50K houses to smaller ones.

  • I've had a 5k treehouse (Alakol, methinks?) and have recently upgraded to a 15k Bortola cottage. I think the cottages are pretty awesome...the surroundings are nice and green, and all the cottages have interior themes (mine's a gaming house!). It's also near a subway but not toooo busy. The only thing it's really lacking in is an animal pen and a herb garden.

  • I find that if you have teleportation skills the location doesn't matter too much.  I like the features in my bog house - the fireflies in particular.  I find that there are so many crops available for auction, that it is cost-effective to just buy what I want instead of grow it, and I do feel like I am helping other glitchen when I buy their wares.

My house in Lowland Tracks is close to Groddle Meadow and the food trees and animals, and is a short walk to  Ix and the spice, Uralia and the mines, and the machine rooms.  The only thing that is far away is dirt patches, but since I wander the ancestral lands daily, that isn't really a problem either.

We also have a nice HOA.

  • I chose Salatu and was looking at Lunu Lane but ended up one street over on Puran Pills. I am trying to get a couple of friends to play, too, so I needed a lot of space for stored newbie gifts and such, liked the big garden and animal pen and liked the convenience (near Thiruvan Thrive subway). If I walk to East Spice, I can harvest as I go and fill up at LEAST a bag and a half of meat, cherries, eggs, grain, etc.), pause to mine a little, and so on. Good location. Nice neighbors.

  • I love my place in Groddle Meadow. I have the Barbie/Goth 15K cottage. Because any cottage in GM is hard to get, I just grabbed it as soon as I saw it come up. I had no idea of the location in GM. Turned out that Marrakesh Meadow is one street from the subway and very convenient, but I'd be as happy with any other location in the region. I can understand why other peole would want to live in other regions, though. It depends on what you want to do. GM is nice and central, though, so I would suggest looking at it.

  • I'm going to give another vote for Salatu - I'm staying at Shak Shales and it's very nice, because it's right next to the subway plus Revdyo Rake has a whole bunch of quoins that regenerate really quickly. The scenery is also gorgeous, and the house is so big!
