Pets and pet breeding

Pets are cool. They're time-honored status items in MMO's and I think they'd work here too.

It would be doubly cool if we could breed them into rarer pets. I'd love to have the Glitch equivalent of a Red Tibetan Mastiff.

  • Glitch would need off-beat pets. Like a lemur or something. Possibly wearing a scarf, because it's cuter that way. Think of quirky animals and ways to give them adorable accessories that theme them and maybe we can round out this idea for the devs. Maybe the pet requires a special item like a fishbowl/terrarium that you can carry it around in, or maybe it can only be 'out' inside your house?

  • @SirPoox - maybe there could be a leash-rule in effect, so people with various dogs/cats/pygmy elephants can still take them out for strolls, but they can't run off unattended. Monkeys/lemurs should probably just ride on your head or shoulders.

  • must every online game turn into the littlest pet shop? I hate the idea of pets because there is so much going on visually with the game and with the big launch approaching Ur will be FULL of new players.

  • Pets?  Yes, please.  Personally, I'd like an otter.  Or a momonga.  Or both.

  • You mean the glitch equivalent of a Golden Chocobo?

Nothing like forcing animals into sexual intercourse to pass the time.

I already have a pet. A pet rock. He's enough of a nuisance. Maybe instead of making another pet, we should have to clean up poo from our old one, that out to teach OP and Christine the meaning of pet ownership responsibility.

  • @ Lilac.  I already have a mother, and she has taught me the meaning of responsible pet ownership amongst many other things.

I like the idea of pets or some kind of familiar.  Breeding, not really.
