innerGlich reflections - end of beta-test

Now that the beta-test is closed - how did the innerGlitch guide you - what'd you do, work on, play with and explore. Did you make progress inWorld and find new discoveries? Tell us what you will...

I'll need more time to process but initially I've gained a number of skills - Animal Kinsip 3, Soil Appreciation 3, Element Handling, Minning 2 (11 hrs. to go for Mining 3), Mediative Arts 2, Better Learning 3, and Teleportation 1.

I'm also beginning to see a possible strategy for developing and deepening my relationship with my innerGlitch which though not always clear, is clear enough for me to become more confident as the vastness of Glitch slowly opens to me.

So how about you?

  • I idled for the first couple of hours while the rock announced quests, then socialized and worked on them.

  • I mainly cooked stuff, and gathered stuff to cook more stuff with. I like the cooking stuff.

Oh, and I went to the end-of-test party and had a ball.

  • I worked on projects and planted a wood tree in my home. The projects seem like the most important thing to do right now, as the new areas they unlock will be the only thing that lasts past the wipe before we go live.... plus I only need one more piece of the street builder trophy (I hope that also lasts past the wipe...)

  • I have to knock off a bunch of quests before I can start learning again, so I mostly concentrated on that.  Also, I bought a cool yeti shirt.

  • Darn it. :(   I barely got to play any other than a little bit last night and a few minutes today. Barely enough time to really think strategically about the game. I was hoping it'd be open through tomorrow so I'd get to play a bit more tonight.

At least I got some skills going, and one even longer one done (Well, just a 3.5hr one). I suppose I'll be figuring out what to work on next that way and explore some more to see what the world is like. Maybe I'll be able to spend a lot of time playing the next time. And happily now I have had a taste of the game. :)

  • I spent a few hours with a couple of other Glitches, and we puzzled our way through the mechanics of the Last Egg quest.  We learned quite a bit about those egg plants and how many eggs it has at the 2-armed stage.  :)  Otherwise, my time was spent doing a lot of this and that.  Street projects, gathering materials, mining to recover from near bankruptcy...  Lots of stuff.  Next test... who knows?  LOL  Probably a lot more of this, that, and the other thing, too.  I'd like to get back into street projects again more, but garnering favour for skill learning has been seriously sapping my resources.  ^^;

  • I spent time with other Glitches trying to get the Last Egg quest. Marebito, Piecemaker, Devine and SavannahBlueRose helped me a lot---thank you all for your time and generosity. ((hugs)) Hope I didn't leave anyone out.......

I also spent a lot of time tidying up my house and sorting inventory. The larger space in the cabinet really helped. Thank you devs! I can finally move around without squishing tomatoes or bumping into vials of laughing gas.

I explored, gardened, chased pigs out of the house and spent time mining until my fancy pick broke for the Mining IV quest. Whoo Hoo!

  • Spent most of this test doing what I love doing - gardening, cooking and tending to my critters - with the occasional trip to the vendor to replenish that which I cannot make myself and wishing that we could eventually grow, brew or create everything that the vendors sell :D

  • @sgjo - Being able to brew our own beer and distill our own hooch would be great!

I spent most of the test mining to complete the Mining IV quest to break my fancy pick (which of course I had fully repaired just minutes before!) and gardening/tending my animals. I hatched several new butterflies, all of whom are welcome additions to my not-so-little flock.

I also changed my look to emulate the adventurous and blue-haired Coraline.

  • I didnt have a single flash crash this time - anyone else notice that?

  • Lets see now, started the test moving into a new house, settled in by planting trees, seeding the garden(discovering a bug heh) adding piggies and butterflies. Rushed to do some street projects, then back to harvest and top up on food supplies. Deliberate effort to visit more of the places I havent been, found a giant firefly - imgur.com/t1eno ^^ Helped a couple of people who needed tools fixing, back to the street projects, still trying to get high enough to be able to do all the tasks, meditated, radiated and generally had fun, visited a friends house to name his piggies and 'the kids' ^^ back home to change and cook for the end of test party then threw myself into the party sneaking home before the close. Phew.

  • I aimlessly wandered the world for a while, searching for the new and exciting wood tree, and probably bungled my first few attempts at interaction with it. I further cemented my glitchy compulsive twitch to tend to every tree I see and to nibble every darn piggie, with side adventures chasing chickens and butterflies for their goods as well. With my animal and gardening skills getting higher, I soon found myself with meat and tree-harvests to spare. Later, I dove into mining to try to gather resources to toss into shrines, trying to speed learn a skill before the test ended. I was unsuccessful, and switched skills anyhow, accepting the loss. Throughout, I tried to keep an eye and ear open to the needs of the populace voiced via chat, and auctioned off items as I could to help out.

I also attended my first ever end-of-test party. It was very much something else, and I'm glad I managed to experience one.

  • I bought a big new house, went to all the places i had not been yet, earned 4 more shrine emblems, 1 precious stone trophy for my shelf at home, learned all the subway stops, bought & stored extra tools and precious stones,  found two more keys, mined, scraped barnacles, dug peat, made vapors, captured pigs,  hatched eggs, named a chicken or two, completed 3 more skills: at better learning level V now. got stuck in a glitch, got rescued by help staff, flash crashed twice, lost my meat locker (?).  Hugged some, radiated orb for others and played glitch jump by myself. it was an awesome test. :)

  • @Bob Apple: "I didnt have a single flash crash this time - anyone else notice that?"

Yesterday's was only my 2nd inWorld experience so my basis of comparison is shallow at this point. Can say I did not experience any flash crashes...most annoying bug for me is that on my Mac running Safari the arrow-keys stop navigating after stitching windows. I've reported it and doing a reload does fix it, but I was reloading several time an hour and it does negatively affect game play.

Another Glitcher (don't remember who) said that if you run glitch in a tab-window, switching tabs fixes it, which is a bit quicker than a refresh.

    Just another day in Beta-Paradise!

  • Bob-I limited my time on to a few hours each day during this test. So I played a bit Fri nite and then Sat as well. My experience was great. Lag only occurred while I had another tab open and playing music so I expect my browser just got bogged down. Flash only crashed once toward the very end of the game. It just keeps getting better and better. Btw, jumping was extraordinarily great this time. I had been having trouble with it the last test.

  • Update to get back to the original post:: I have begun to make lists of what I think I can reasonably expect to do during my time on. I had a list of cooking quests to complete this test and yes, was able to complete them all. I also needed to buy a shovel and learn how to dig -accomplished that too! Found a few new streets as well.
This next test I will have to start donating and acquiring emblems because currently I can't learn any more skills until I do.

  • I spent most of this test moving into a house and raising animals combined with some farming and fruit changing for later cookery/drinkery. I'm also working to max out my spices (that is, 200 of each), but got distracted with some of the quests. Finally, this was my first test working with elements.

Did anyone else notice a bug in gardens? I seeded one at my house, then noticed I could seed another underneath it. I figured I'd try that and when I returned home later, the other plots didn't exist. Weird.

For the next test (assuming it's at the same time), I'm supposed to be busy in the real world, but if I'm not... Visit the remaining ~150 locations I haven't been to, max out my spices, mine some more to find gems for donating, and learn at least five more skills. I'm also contemplating starting a dairy/egg business, with cheese (including very, very stinking cheese), milk, various eggs, etc. (Has someone suggested storefronts as a future idea? Maybe with an apartment upstairs!)

I just read this forum and discovered group projects! I'm looking forward to joining one in the future.

  • Elian this garden bug was happening at  the start of the test and was corrected in the first hours.

  • Riverwalker: Yeah, I just followed up in the Bugs forum and noticed it. I probably should've looked there first. Still getting used to visiting forums.
