When I post a new auction, I'd like to see at least the lowest 3-5 (if not more) auctions, both price and quantity. I understand that would take some rearranging of the pop-up, but I think it would help with the incredibly volatile prices.
*If I know the lowest seller has chosen to sell at 80% below the next lowest, I can easily price accordingly
*If I know that everyone else at the low end is selling a particular quantity, I can halve or double that for anyone looking for a different option
*If I know that the lowest 5-10 bids are all the same price, then I know that to get mine to stand out, I need to change my quantity slightly or lower my price by a small fraction.
As it is, I end up searching each item out and looking before I post (resulting in extra clicks to target), which is inconvenient, but I can keep doing... I think many others just post the suggested price, or immediately try to undercut the lowest bid by X, just because it's the easiest thing to do with the information provided, which results in wildly see-sawing prices at some times.
Thanks!
