I will for sure do that... I always fill feeders on the streets I visit anyway... I'm just not sure which Glitchen are effected though on the East Coast? Any way of knowing? List names if you can and we will visit!
Lisa, I friended you and will check on your piggies over the next few days. If any other east coast glitchen need their piggies fed, mail me or IM me or list your name here. I bet many of us on the west coast will check your streets and keep your feeders full. Stay safe.
I will likely be without power from Tuesday through some indeterminate date based on the current forecast :) I would greatly appreciate anyone stopping by my home street and dropping some grain in the feeders I have out there, or tending to the feeding tree I have planted :)
Good idea LisaNH.
Anyone who sees this thread before Sandy hits and leaves their name will get a visit from me.. at least until my ownpower cuts out, but I expect Sandy will be tame before she hits my house.
I'd definitely appreciate it if someone could look in on my street. Power will likely go down here either late Monday or sometime Tuesday, and will probably be down for at least a few days. Thank you!
I would appreciate if anyone could do this on my street as well. My small state is set to get a good brunt of this storm. We're not entirely sure what'll happen, but lets hope it's not too bad.
I may not lose power, but I might! If I do, if someone could take care of the piggies on my street I'd appreciate it. The ones in the back will have to fend for themselves. We have awesome generators, so as long as I have internet it should be fine. If I lose internet/power, I'll either post it as a status to tell y'all here via my phone.
I'll adopt wraith816 and check on his/her animals, plots and trees everyday during the storm.
I picked Wraith because I have never met this Glitch and I think it would be fun to adopt someone I never met :) 'cause all Glitchen are awesome and doing something for one in need makes me happy.
I'm in Maryland near Annapolis, and hoping very much not to loose power. If you do stop by please pet my piggies and add some grain to the feeder if it is empty. If I don't loose power I'll check back on this thread to help others. Good luck all.
I'm way out near the tip of Cape Cod, and I'd like to be provisionally adopted, too, please! It'll be a miracle if the power doesn't go down here. If I can figure out how to Glitch on my iPad, I might be able to take care of things myself, but it would be great to know someone else is keeping an eye out.
My street is home to a close-knit group of an extremely rare species of arboreal pig. Please do not call the piggy protection people. My piggies LIKE it up there.
Thank you in advance!
Love,
Siren and her super-happy tree pigs
Edited to add:
Not that I've ever been in trouble with the piggy protection people before or anything.
Ditto what Gizmospooky said. I am in PA and scheduled for a direct hit. I do not have piggies on my street. My tower hotel will hopefully stay afloat and continue to have power. Stop by and get some refreshments on your way to help others.
I'd love a few visitors to my street pigs from Monday on as we're in Sandy's path and I live in East Bumblefudge (a.k.a. The Boondocks) so when we lose power it takes about a week to get it back.
Also, can we change the name of this storm from Hurricane Sandy to Hurricane Cthulu? Cthulu makes me take storm prep much more seriously.
I'll probably lose power sometime today (& I'm surprised I was even able to get internet now!). So if anyone would be kind enough to check on things from later on today, I'd appreciate it.
i will help anyone who needs it....SIREN...i will adopt your piggies...but i want to be on one of those 'not so lame as most people lists' or NO DEAL
SK, ill check on yours too!
def take out your collectors though, that helps extend piggy lives.
also, i can help others!! the Midwest is pretty hurricane-proof. i think for this to work well there needs to be some kind of organization, and not just a running around randomly checking peoples piggies, someone might get missed that way :(
ill whip up a few piggy eggs too to help replenish any porcine privates lost in the potential power outages.
Any responsible pig owner has a tree or two on their garden, surely? Fill up a bunch of piggy feeders and your pigs will ok for quite a while, especially with trees on the street
I've got an alt whose street I visit maybe once a month. There are a lot of trees and a few feeders. I normally fill 2 of them. His 7 piggies are still going strong.
I'm starting a route on Glitch Housing for those who need piggies checked up on during the storm. Anyone who needs help should join it. Maybe that would make it easier for your guys to help our piggies?
I am in Maryland. Hopefully we will not lose power, but if we do my piggies can live for a day or two with the trees on my home street. I would be grateful if a few of you kind glitchens would stop by and pet and water my trees.
Just want to add a big thank-you to everyone who came by my street, whether Rhett got your name or not. The power came back on yesterday evening & the internet late this morning, & I'll keep my fingers crossed that they both stay on. We had a lot of wind (80+ mph gusts all Monday night) but not a lot of rain, and no serious damage (hard to comprehend how that happened). So hopefully I'll be Glitching along until the next big storm. Thanks again!
