Please don't require quests that have some level of manual difficulty.

Some parts of the game require manual dexterity. Not every player here is a teenager with an X-box.

I don't mind if I miss out on some areas of the game because it takes me 10 times (or more) to do jumping maneuvers that 'normal' players can do the first time with no issue. But for little "required" things like the "Summer's Day" stuff, which you cannot put off because when you try, *every* floating vendor bugs you about it, and when you go in, there is no way to skip out, it can be a living hell.

If there is anything that will make me quit this otherwise awesome game, it's things like the "Summer's Day". Please recognize that just as the game should be flexible to make it fun, so should the game play itself.  Some of us are folks with arthritis in our hands (or, perhaps, have other dexterity issues) who like video games but don't like being stuck making the same jumps over and over again because we just do not have the ability.

  • Um... so, for Summer's Day? You can use spinach. And you can exit out with /home in the chat box. The quest is also not required - when I failed it due to a connection issue, I couldn't even get it again until the next game day. There may be a bug with you getting bothered by all the vendors.

  • manual difficulty... or excessive choppiness with 5 fps

people indeed get a better chance of success (and iMG rewards)

with stuff like radial height depending on their hardware

  • I've had Summer's Day issues because of a terrible PC, so that last jump before the ladder is impossible to make. I've resorted to using Levitation to make it across that jump, but spinach would work just as well. It may not be the way the quest was intended to be done, but there is almost always a sneaky workaround.

Unless we're including fox brushing in the manual difficulty discussion, in which case the only winning move is not to play.

  • +1 for taking the Summer's Day quest off the "constant reminder" list after completion

Instead I think there should be a way to repeat any quest you've already completed.

  • I have been whining a great deal less about the jumping issues than I did earlier in Beta 1.  However, I empathize with your pain.  I am really bad with all the new jumping games, and Chakra Phool has always taken me lots of effort to navigate through (Did TS add more ladders at one point?  It seemed to get better).  Levitation and spinach have helped a lot.   I had a terrible time completing the Tower Ghost quest due to the need for jumping.   I don't object to having some quests or achievements about jumping, but I think they should be one-offs that aren't part of major story lines and  don't prevent you from getting to other quests or skills.

  • I have an Xbox, while not a teenager, am pretty good at it and I find the jumping in this game frustrating.  It can still be a challenge without being 'omg wtf argh' frustrating.  I actually came to the ideas forum to post about this!  Thank you Moose!

  • I cheat, I use spinach or Levitation to get through Summer Day.. I suck at jumping too, have in every game I've ever played.  Prolly why I never beat Super Mario Bros.

  • Umm.... Since when is Summer's Day "required"? No one's making you do it, and the verb is set on buy/sell anyway, so I wouldn't think choosing it by accident would be a problem (unless possibly you're using the mouse). And if you've been in long enough, it SHOULD be asking "Would you like to leave this place? y/n"

It being "required" for you seems like a compulsion to rid it daily from the vendor verb menu.

  • @SaSa--before you do Summer's day the 1st time...All the vendors have a bubble window over them.

The OP isn't complaining about the verb...but the constant nag to do it and I assume the associated lag with NPC's talking. Every. Dang. Street.

  • Maybe just go in and then go /home? That should shut the vendors up.

I use my orb to get through summer's day, it's worth it for the IMG. I have never made it without my orb :D
