  • Isn't 'plurp' the sound you hear a moment before you reach for the roll and then pull the handle?

Peace- that quiet period after one side has been thoroughly defeated.
Love- that overwhelming desire to possess somebody entirely.
Unity- the notion that we should all act the same, in unison, like robots would.
Respect- the feeling you have toward the dude in power who has the gun.
Purple- the color many living things are right before they die of suffocation.

Naw, forget plurp.  Doesn't sound that good at all.

  • Peace - the state of accord we build when we decide to work for our goals in harmony with the goals of others, rather than in discord and hostility.
Love - the overwhelming feeling that what is in the best interest of another must be part of what constitutes your own best interests.
Unity - the notion that, despite having disparate goals and a multitude of attitudes toward how to accomplish them, we can still all work toward the common goals that we all decide to share.
Respect - the feeling you have when you realize that someone else is worthy of admiration for their qualities, accomplishments, or abilities.
Purple - the colour of flowers growing in the woods, or the edge of the sky during a spectacular sunset or dawn, or a particularly difficult colour to fix using natural dyes.

What you list above to me sounds like oppression, obsession, conformity, coercion, and the last? Not that many creatures actually turn purple when dying of suffocation, besides some skin colours of humanity, pigs, and other non-hair, thin-skinned animals.

  • @ Nanookie - lol, that will teach me to do a user search first.  But anyway, I hope that user Plurp feels good about our remembrance of him, even though I have only just made his acquaintance.

@ Parrow - dude, and I thought I was the snarky deconstructionist around here.  ROFL (:::hands badge to Parrow:::)

@ Scarlett - sigh, will u be mah fren? <3

  • Unity always comes down to "We know a better way, and we need to get everybody else to act in that way."  So much for Unity.  It's still a good term for mathematics and logic, though.

Harmony is remarkably dull.  It was all worked out in the field of Music Composition by about 1850 and virtually everything else in serious music since that time has been interesting because of the creative use of dissonance.  Hum in the corner if you wish, but don't try to make us all hum with you.

There isn't much at root that we can 'all work on together' unless everything is reduced to pretty much nothing.  It's known as enthropy.  Contrast is what makes vision possible.  Our differences are what defines us as individuals.  We all can't decide on anything.  We just get to ponder, choose sides, and struggle on with life.

Maybe a better phrase for purple:  the color of deeply bruised flesh on humans.

But anyway.  Anything can be picked apart, and Hallmark Moments should always be picked apart.
