Party kits need to change.

I fail to see why you can only use them once after paying 27,500 currants.   You have to consider the economics of the game and realize how much 27,500 is.  It's about equal to one of those houses in Alakol which is yours for as long as the houses are in the game.  I bought one, figuring it  was yours forever.  When I found out it was not, I was like might as well sell it and get testers.  Others will be less forgiving and may rage quit.  They should change in one or  more of the following ways:

1: Sell Testers only.
2: Warn users they are used only once before buying.
3: Make it economically on par with other items in the game because right now it's not.

Cheaper parties would encourage more social interaction which is good for the game overall :)

  • I semi-agree with you.

I would like a less-expensive kit, for relatively the same time. Or maybe a kind of refund thing, say the party owner gets 100 currants from each person entering. But it is rather expensive A.T.M.

    +1

  • The tester packs actually have more expensive Party ATMs than the regular packs.

  • The Tester packs are anywhere from 6050 to 7150 versus non tester packs which are 27,000 to 33,000 Tom I don't follow you. Do you mean per amount of time the non testers are a better value?

JJ would you support lowering the cost of parties and allowing players to set there own entrance fees allowing them the chance to profit off of them? I would.

  • Asp04, there is a Party ATM inside each party location that allows you to extend the party time for a fee. The fee is more expensive per minute of extension in the tester packs than the regular packs.

  • Now that I think of it, I'm never going to buy a party pack again. I say that they should either lower the price significantly or make it multiple use.
TomC, not that your point was offtopic or anything, but A.T.M usually means "at the moment."

  •   @AwesomeCardinal2000: ATM to me means Automatic Teller Machine. Which is what you get inside a party space and is what TS calls them too.  I use ATM for  Automatic Teller Machine frequently in RL. I have never used ATM to mean  'at the moment'

Buying a Party Pack, with all the included spawning foods and drinks, and sometimes  spawning sparkly rocks, is cheaper than catering yourself in a street or at your home.

I too am unlikely to buy another Party Pack but for a totally different  reason.  I think the ones in streets are more fun, even if more costly to the host.

I doubt I would attend any one elses party if they charged me to go

  • I think the street ones are more funner too.
When jjbob was using it, it meant at the moment.

  • @TomC I see what you mean. :)

@ IrenicRhonda  Do you like the parties the way they are? Would you change them in any way?

@ AwesomeCardinalinal2000.  Do you think the Street Parties are a good value? Why are they more fun?

     As I said above

  • Oh I thought Awesome said that Irenic my bad lol  So I will asked you what I asked him.  Do you think the Street Parties are a good value? Why are they more fun?
Posted 8 months ago by Asp04 Subscriber! | Permalink
  • In a Party Space I will have a quick roam around. Cook some food maybe from the spawned food, blend a drink. And then leave them for others. Maybe release a rainbow, perhaps a charades potion and then I'll probably go.

At a street party I'll chat, interact and generally socialise more. Goof around perhaps. But have more Fun

Value for money? Well you will spend more on food and drink at a Street Party then on a party pack. but how do you value Fun?

  • Parties are expensive in real life, why not in Glitch?
I'm comfortable with the prices. It's not like it's hard to make currants. Party packs are a good, fun way to burn excessive currants.

  • EE When are Parties more expensive then host houses ever? You think making it rain would also be a fun way to burn excessive currants?

Yes, that is what I would like. Because not everyone pays for more time :)

  • Can I reiterate what I said above and expand a bit

I would not attend a party where there was an entrance fee, any more than I would in RL. It strikes me as  rude and very unGlitchy. I'm frankly astounded that not only was it suggested but that other Glitchen have agreed it is a good idea

If you want to hold a party then hold party. You can't seriously expect/force people to fund it for you. And as for wanting a 'chance to make a profit', that leaves me dumbfounded. You want to profit from your friends?

I have added funds to ATMs at parties and will continue to do so. But that has been my choice.

  • 0 Currants could be an option if players set there own fees.  If you hold a large scale party for profit, you won't know everyone.  For those who want to have smaller friends only gathering they can charge nothing.

They could have badges for making currants as they do for spending them.  You have the right to expect whatever you want in life. It does not mean others have to meet them.   Have you forgotten that the people running this game are a corporation doing it for capitalistic reasons?  So how is it wrong to be a capitalist in a game ran by capitalist?  What about the option to set a party fee forces anyone?  Your freedom of choice is not impaired in anyway.  IrenicRhonda is every Glitchen your friend?

  • Asp04 wrote: So how is it wrong to be a capitalist in a game ran by capitalist?

It isn't wrong to make currants in Glitch. I haven't said that anywhere. I do believe making a profit, making  currants, from your friends is wrong

But if you equate holding a party to running a business we'll just have to agree to disagree. We will never find common ground
Posted 8 months ago by IrenicRhonda Subscriber! | Permalink
  • I am saying holding parties can be a business for those that want to be as it is in RL.  Or strictly for fun for those who don't.  I don't judge either side.  It's just an idea to improve the party system.  " So easy to condemn so hard to create"

Your disdain for optional for profit parties made me do a double take:)

  • I agree with Irenic.  If you want to host a party, host one. That means footing the bill. I have a feeling that very few Glitchen would go to parties where they had to pay an entry fee.  Your friends are already gracing you with their company - why ask them to give you their money as well?

Feels too scammy, and unglitch-like, for my tastes. -1.

  • Aurora Dellaterra Do you feel the party kits need to be changed at all or are fine the way they are?  If you think changed how so? If not changed why not?
Posted 8 months ago by Asp04 Subscriber! | Permalink
  • I wouldn't object to them being cheaper - I can see where you're coming from in that respect.  Other than that, I think they are fine the way they are.  They're not an integral part of the gameplay, and there are other ways to have a party if you don't like party packs.
Posted 8 months ago by Aurora Dellaterra Subscriber! | Permalink
  • Depending on the entry fee, I would be happy to pay to join a party, if the fee was less than 1k.  I'd quite happily pay 100c and I'd probably pay 500c.  If I am willing to pay 50c just to ride a boring subway, I'd be happy to pay twice that to go to a party.
