Just a thread for ideas for skills and items related just for parties. Home, neighborhood, or street can be distinguished. It's a feature of our social menus, let's see if we can put it to more use than just a chat window :)
I like parties since they exist for themselves with no in-game rewards or quests or perks. They are the one real place to create community. Making them into skills would kill both their camaraderie and spontaneity.
Agreed, some people can show off with their levitation but anything that would impose on other players would be like the powders and cause way too much lag.
Parties are for people who just finished the tutorial and heard there was a party to people who have been with these guys since GNE. The fact that we all come together as equals and you really don't know what their experience is at a glance is what I like.
Plus there will likely be fewer parties when it goes live since most of our parties involve shutting down and I can't imagine us all gathering at 3am on a Tuesday morning for when they shut the game down for maintenance. (So we need more parties)
Party hosts should be able to change the music and scenery of the zone when a party is going on. Perhaps items that grant this ability, or even food and drink distributor items would be awesome.
Imagine saving up your currants to blow it all on a big bash, with a DJ and food table, punch bowl, and purple flower vendor!
Parties are where I'm making the most friends online, mostly as a consequence of offering/accepting challenges and swapping stuff; parties provide a great opportunity for both these activities.
Maybe as suggested, purchasable items, but it would still be nice for some special stuff your Glitch can learn. Right now players over 20th level have been asking "Is there more?" Right now you can learn to make/grow a large number of things than you can buy from the vendors. Being able to make beer an hooch, for instance, might be something to add to the skill trees for the higher players. This is the kind of thing I had in mind for this thread. How about party trays? Decorations?
