/commands

Does anyone know the available /commands in the game? For example, /who seems to show the names of players in the area.

  • well, it doesn't need a / in front of it, but try just typing 1 2 or 3 sometime. :)

  • The game won't accept it when I forget that I'm chatting in-Glitch and type in "/dork" when I've said something silly . . . says it's an unknown command ;)

  • In another game I play the commands are /wave /clap /dance etc etc......
I did it on accident one day in Glitch and it said unknown command. So it did make me wonder if there were actually commands using the slash /.

  • If you type afk into the text box, it'll put you on afk. Similarly, pressing 4 when not in the text box will put you on afk.

  • Actually, I did ask a few devs, and, as it turns out, "normal" glitchen (i.e. NOT guides/staff) only get the "/who" command.
However, I know from one of the devs that they (devs) get a variety of commands for teleporting. How interesting! (Idk how big the list is, but I know there are at least two ways to TP). Hope that helps!

  • I'd like a /what command, to show the same text that is on the loading screen as summary of what is on that area. Even a /summary or /featuring (to match the header of the new location pages) would do well.

  • You can also type /clear in order to empty the chat history in your window.  Strangely, it even works if you've typed it in the middle of a sentence.

  • I like your idea, Zimzat.  Very nice, should put that on the ideas forum.  I know I get distracted and miss that text sometimes, screen loads too fast other times.

Avariella's comment reminds me of MUDs.  'goto' and 'tele' and 'summon' and probably a whole host of other variations depending on which lib you were using...  I had a nifty summon command that would "look" like a demon came into the room, grabbed the player, and left with them (bringing them to me, ofc).

  • Coincidentally I was trying /who last night, I really want to be able to check locations that I am NOT in, and I'd especially like to know the number of Glitchen in an area I'm not in.

  • I really like Zimat's idea of /what (translated into "what's here on this street") too.

I have a powerful computer and a very fast internet connection and unfortunately the near instant rapid glance I get of the street creatures and features isn't long enough to even start to digest it with my (apparently) much slower brain.

    Love this idea.

  • Snarkle that would be awesome! Like if we could do /who name of street and it could tell us all the people on that street. Would be a great way of finding other large groups of Gltiches.

  • Oh interesting!  I did wonder about this myself as I've sometimes used / and then a phrase after it like, /knew you were joking, and of course it says "unknown command". :p
