I wonder if Tiny Speck will ever use the censor word list that the Admin has control over, myself I dont care if people want to try to be offensive to others, just out of curiosity I wonder why it has not been used.just a thought.
Disagree. Yes. It can be done. But I am off the mind that it is an insanely slippery slope.
I suppose, if the problem becomes rampant, it might be, sigh, needed. But why "fix" a problem before it has happened. A few random "bad" words in a game that is NOT directed at minors shouldn't be a problem.
If you treat people as adults, sometimes they actually act like them. My 2 cents.
Your correcto mundo Lord O Bacon,It has not got rampant as yet,and really I do ignore all of it,I kinda wonder when it is so easy to do, why it had never been activated for a least a few choice words. Was more of a curious thing than a complaint. And a remark like well (if it dont fix ignore it ),wonderful mind, not from you but other folks here is welll.must tell hubby next time he cant fix the car just ignore it.it will go away.Thank God for mental stability.
What WindBorn said... also, they're ridiculously easy to get around. Throw in an extra space or an asterisk between letters, and your dirty word is now dirty AND grammatically incorrect!
And then we all end up in a 1993 AOHell chatroom. With no grapes to stomp.
Yes Jennyanddots,I remember once a person doing exactly that, circumnavigating all censored words just because they could.what can you do some folks just get bored and have to do something or cause a fuss on threads.A good thread of post is when everyone does have an opinion and everyone takes it just like that just an opinion. I dont come here often for that reason some like to cause a fuss. But to leave out a chevron or asterist or space ,sure can blow out your board now and then lol.
My impression was that having a list of words created a challenge for kids to work harder to find ways around the list. It resulted in making it difficult to have a conversation using a college-level vocabulary, because the list was so comprehensive.
Frankly, I'd rather not have a specific list, and allow the staff/moderators decided based on overall behavior and the context of the conversation.
