Learning Skills When Game is Down?

I just saw a friend update that someone just finished learning a skill. But my homepage says we can't learn skills while the game is down. What gives?

  • If you start a skill before the end of the test, you will continue learning that skill while the game is closed, but you can't change to a different skill or start a new skill unless the game is open.

  • The skill was started before the game went down. For example, I'm learning a skill now that will finish in 9 hours but I started it an hour or so before the end of the last test.

  • Do we have to remain logged into the home page even when the game is closed to continue learning a skill already started? I'm afraid to log out and turn off my computer while learning but really don't like leaving the computer on 24/7. Thanks

  • No problem with logging out (I think) The key thing is to set off a nice long skill just before the test ends. You can switch skills before they are complete, so if you've only got 20 minutes left of a skill, switch to a 3 day one, let it finish while the game's closed and pick up the paused skill when the game's open. You can do the same thing before you go to bed, so all your off the game time is used efficiently :)
