Potion prices

Okay, I'm confused.  I just went to sell tree poison, new 5 doses, and the market says the current price is 325.  But when I look at the actual listings, the lowest one is 1625, so that's obviously 325 per dose.

Question is, if I list it for 325, will it show up at 325 or 1625?  If I list it at 1625, would it show up as 8125?

Also, the info says it's worth 550.  So if I donate it at a shrine, do I get 55 favor, or 275?  I'm so confused!

  • You list the total price you are charging (1625) and the auction house breaks it down into available units of use (325x5) for the listing.  You'll see the listing is for 325 "per unit", meaning per available use.  This is so if you charge 1625 for a used one, prospective buyers will see what you've done.  ;)

Shrine donations get you 10% of the info amount, so you will get 55 favor.

  • List the potion as 1625.

Not sure about the favor thing.

  • If you list it 1625 that's 325 per dose. The price you set is for the whole thing not individual doses. Donating it would be 55 favor.

  • "You'll see the listing is for 325 "per unit..."

Actually, it doesn't for potions.  Everything else, but not potions.  This is why I'm confused!

  • Update: you're right, it worked.  But I'm still wondering what would happen if I donated it.  (Not to Spriggan of course!)

  • I was describing what I thought you meant in your initial post - the market category page says Tree Poison, lowest price 325c per unit.   You mean you're just going straight to auctioning the item without checking the other prices.  Yes, that's much more confusing.  :)

Anyway, list it for the full amount you want to sell for.

  • Donations get you 10% of the game-listed value.  So an item worth 550 will yield 55 favor. Double it with FHSP, triple it if you use EHSP.  Not sure where you got the idea of 50% value, but that is never correct.

  • if you donated it, it would be based on number of uses (same if you sold it to tool vendor). A full one gets more favor/currants than a partially used. The value decreases as the remaining uses decrease (this wasn't always the case but has been for a while now).

  • Consider potions, powders or anything with numerous uses like a "stack." Does that help?

  • Shit!  I just got it wrong.  Somebody just got a huge bargain.

  • The reason it works this way is folks would list items with a single charge for 1600, making for a huge ripoff of unsuspecting buyers. Now, all prices are show "per charge" to avoid any misconceptions.

Sorry you got burned TMF, the posting dialog could be a little more clear. I'll send ya some guano (sometime...)
