I won't do any spoilers, but to the devs: as a cultural heritage professional, not only do I _love_ the Rook Museum, but you folks nailed it. +1 to all of you.
Loved it. Minor point: I couldn't really click on the bot for a while because there were people in front, and at first I couldn't even see it because there was a crowd. Maybe if it's a little higher?
I too thougnt it was amzaing (and I have been tramping around museums for weeks). It was simple, full of information and was a clean design. I would absolutely love to see more there to know about my past. Possibly artifacts from the previous peoples before the glitches or artifacts we can find in Kajuu and the like?
I have to say, this is THE BEST thing I have seen in this game to date. I really hope there continues to be more things like this. I thought you couldn't top the Plexus, but I was so wrong!
WOW! I can't think of a better way to present the Rook tutorial. Absolutely wonderful! Hmm... there's still at least one section of the tower that isn't open (east side)... if that place gets any cooler my head just might explode!
I know this is redundant, but plus one for me as well.
I must admit I'm not terribly interested in the things the rocks have to say, particularly once I discovered they didn't have any bearing on the game itself (yet?), but this was a really engaging and fun way to make me care about the mystery of just wtf is going on while delivering a tutorial which might be a bit dry if Rocko just explained it all in a big wad of text.
Also I love museums.
Will there be an aquarium?
It particularly stood out because I perform a lot of tasks mindlessly at this point, but I had to pay attention here. Turned off the global chat and everything.
Not to spoil for anyone, but the way the pictures were interactive as well as some of the displays, I never ever expected to see all those really great features! It seems like it took a lot of work, and it was well worth every second because it is the coolest thing I have seen in game!
Sorry, I know this is all really redundant, but I just can't believe how cool this feature was. Everything was PERFECT
I object to the content of this museum as being 100% anti-Rook propaganda. I, and the other Rookists of Ur, protest the exclusion of the OTHER aspects of the Rooks existence.
Things I hope are in the hall of records: push button to hear good night groddle song, the old bunch o' flowers gravestones, a memorial to Game Neverending. (OK that last one was not really Glitchen, but maybe it's like ... pre-historic times.)
I have to say I winced a bit when I saw the Rookian script- too much of an Arabic flair for my taste, and with the Middle East being Western entertainment's 'bad guy' of choice nowadays, it just seems...well...I would have strayed well away from the possible propagation of the stereotype, if it were me designing the script.
Intellectually, I may recognise (hope, rather) that this was not the intention, but my first, gut reaction was what it was, and I think it's worth mentioning. Even if it's possible that I'm over-reacting.
Heya, someone mentioned elsewhere that their machine speakers were broken and she/he couldn't hear the voiceovers, which made me think of another player who has announced that he/she is deaf...so I was wondering if we could get a transcript of the voice over text in this thread or elsewhere..and then maybe add some captioning to the Museum?
+1 to the subtitles, forgot to mention that. The game should be 100% accessible to deaf people, it's the easiest disability to accommodate for in this case and there's no good excuse not to do it right from the get go.
That, and you'll probably have a lot of non-deaf people who just don't have speakers or headphones who might still want to play.
Museum was fun and oooh, a little scary!
While not deaf I am hard of hearing and it was a little hard to hear and I wonder if I missed something as there is mystery in the visual.
