Route Manager 2 Software For PC Users Updated!

What it is - Route Manager 2 is a software application that runs on the left side of your desktop screen. It like a bookmark manager that allows you to create your own routes thru Ur by utilizing the encyclopedia pages or your friends home street pages. Once a route is set up, you click a "Stop" button it will pop out a browser with that page preloaded so you can click the "Set Destination" or "Visit Home street" Button. Click Continue and it collapses the browser out of your way and the next "Stop" on the route button is revealed!

What you can do with it - Create up to 10 routes each containing 20 stops! Each stop you can use the set destination button to cover multiple streets at a time! You can also set up your route to visit 20 different home streets.

Also contains 20 custom favorite buttons to quickly get to your favorite places. I use the favorite buttons to get me to the different resource routes. (Example.. Create a button called "Bean Route", browse to the person where you would like to start on the bean route and click the "Set" button and you now have a quick link to the bean route on your sidebar!

Who Can Use It - PC users running windows vista, windows 7, windows 8 preview. It was designed with large screen resolutions in mind so if you don't have a lot of screen real estate it might not be for you! It may also work with windows xp but has not been tested. Requires .net framework 4.0 installed but if you don't have it the program will help you download and install.

Of Note - By no means am I an expert programmer, I'm an advanced beginner lol, but I have been using my original Route Master Program for quite some time so decided to give a try in making a a version that people could customize to their liking. If you have any questions feel free to ask, I will try to help you out as much as possible.

Where to get it  Download Here  Just unzip and run the setup.exe file (Sorry about not having a custom desktop Icon)

  • Ha a desktop app noob dev colleague finally^^
Did you see my lil Companion?
You really should post a few screenshots of the app in use
Believe me people are harder to convince when it comes to desktop apps for browser games ;)
(That's why moving into the browser often comes to mind)
    Will check it out tomorrow!

  • ha, didn't see last post, screenshots thx
(hehe, I may have some incoming sidebar project as well, more details later!)

  • Hey Lemo, I did try your companion and I just couldn't get it to work for what I was trying to accomplish. I wanted a way to design my own routes by adding a series of stops that I could quickly and easily cycle through. I also wanted to be able to have multiple different routes. I don't know if that was possible with your app but I couldn't figure it out.

As for it being a desktop app, well that's all I know how to do and I surprised myself at how well it works lol. If people want it, it is here to use. If nobody wants it, that's fine too! I really created it for myself and now don't know what I would do without it!

Good luck with your projects! can't wait to see what else you come up with!

  • Hi UrgleBurger, I can't get it to install. I'm running Windows Vista Home Premium and I do have the .net framework 4.0 installed. I click on the .exe file and it gives me a verifying application requirements dialogue box. Then a Cannot start application dialogue box. Any thoughts as to what I'm doing wrong?

    thanks!

  • Hi FawnFang,

I'm not sure but the only other requirement that I can think of is that internet explorer is still installed on your system. The program uses an IE "wrapper" so if you uninstalled IE  than that could be a possibility.

I just did a fresh install to my windows xp system from the link and had no problems. I also uninstalled and re-installed from the link on my vista system and had no problems.

Also just want to make sure that you clicked on the setup.exe file

Let me know if this helps any

  • Got it working on my computer. :) I'll let you know how it goes!

  • I'm looking in to the problem

When you unzip the file you should have a folder named routemanager2

inside the routemanager2 folder you should have

    Application Files Folder
    RouteManager2.application
    setup.exe

Inside the Application Files Folder there should be a folder named RouteManager2_1_0_0_8
Inside this folder you have the following files

    RouteManager2.application
    RouteManager2.exe.config.deploy
    RouteManager2.exe.deploy
    RouteManager2.exe.manifest

The zip file must be unzipped (right click and click extract all) and all the files need to be in the routemanager2 folder as shown in order for it to install correctly.

Double check that all your files are in the right place and get back to me :)

    thanks

  • If you are logged in to glitch.com with the application, you click the teleport button or set destination button, whichever you prefer and then click continue.
Posted 5 months ago by UrgleBurger Subscriber! | Permalink
  • Ah, thanks, I had to scroll to see the buttons. :) Now it worked.

Checking the route creating thingy now.

  • So, the teleport is supposed to happen when you click that Continue button?
I logged in from the browser though
Maybe you should include your routes by default, easier to have quick look & try

  • You have to click the teleport button on the page you bookmark or the set destination button depending on what kind of route you set up.then click the continue button to close the browser window. you may have to scroll the web page a bit to see the buttons.

Example setting up a few stops for a route
1st stop set to Pental leave by using the encyclopedia search button browse for pental leave and load the page in browser and select the set button next to the first stop

2nd stop in ancestral lands would be Redhorn road NE use the browser to search for redhorn and you will get a list of all redhorn road pages, select redhorn rd NE and click the set button for the 2nd stop.

3rd stop browse for tumble rd 3 and when the page is in the browser click to set your 3rd stop

4th stop browse for redhorn rd NW and set as 4th stop

Name your route a unique name such as AL Pental or anything and click save

A button will appear on the main menu with the name you gave it

Click that button to start the route

Click on the stop 1 button and select the teleport to on the page that you preset (pental leave encyclopedia page) stop 2 button will appear

Click on stop 2 button and when the Redhorn road NE page loads select the set destination button and click continue this closes the browser out of your way. Click back in the game window and head to your destination.

When you reach your destination or when the final stop of your destination is loading, click on the stop 3 button and set destination again and continue, etc

when you reach the last stop of your route you set up, click the reset button to end the route

With just these few stops set up you have the teleport to where the route starts and you cover the following streets

Pental Leave (stop 1) your starting point
    Tumble rd 5
    Bumpkin  tr D
    Bumpkin tr C
    Bumpkin tr B
Redhorn Rd NE (stop 2 destination)
    Rooks way 2
    Rooks way 3
    Rooks way 4
Tumble rd 3 (stop 3 destination)
    Chester Way 1D
    Chester Way 1C
    Chester Way 1B
Redhorn Rd NW (stop 4 destination)

It helps if you look at the maps ahead of time and plan your route. In most cases setting a destination will take you the quickest way from point a to point b

Add as many stops as you like up to 20 but you don't need to use all of them

People with lower screen resolutions will have to scroll the browser more often to find the Teleport and set destination buttons. I use 1920 x 1200 and very often the buttons appear right below the continue button to make it easy to set the destination and click continue. This was way easier before they reworked the encyclopedia pages to include snaps because the buttons were always at the top of the page :(

I did not include my route because I have a couple set up to run Ancestral Lands and if I get behind someone going on all the same exact streets as myself, I wouldn't get any Quoins.

Using the software and carefully planning my route so I don't have to go down the same street twice has increased the img and currants I get in the AL by quite a bit

For home street routes it works a little different. Just browse to the pages of the peoples home streets you want to add and click the set button at each page. Make sure you have the page that has the "Go to (insert name here) home street button. (I recently set up a route of home streets that have cubimal stores)

    Hope this helps!

  • The download button above has been changed to an updated version that contains a new button in the route settings menu (Setup Sample Spice Route)

    Click On Route Settings
    Click on any Route Button
Click the button to setup sample route
    Click save
And a sample spice route button will be added to your bar
    click spice route
    click stop 1
click teleport button on web page
    click continue
    Click stop 2
Click set destination button on page
    Click Continue
    when you reach your destination
    Click stop 3
Click set destination button on page
    Click Continue

You will get in to the habit of double clicking the stop buttons because you are switching between applications and the first click is actually just selecting the browser bar.

The sample Route takes you from Great Hole, Thru Ix and back to Great Hole. When you return to great hole click the reset button

  • What assurances can you provide there are no trojans / keyloggers?

Please don't take this personally, I'm sure your an upstanding coder, but these are the internets, and "helper" tools that help themselves to your gold & loot are rampant.

  • Only assurance I can provide is my reputation and my word. The files I uploaded are 100% keylogger / trojan / virus free. I understand your concern though. :) I just created something for myself and I get so much use out of it that I thought others might want to give it a try!

  • @Sturminator i`: I did a virus-check on the file (this website scans the file with multiple antivirus programs): http://bit.ly/MGVZa2 - Hope this is helpful :)
