Rejoice, musical glitches. Here is: The Route Of Music.

So well, I know little about how to manage a route, but lets try this.

Rules for the route:
1. Have at least one notepole up with links to 1-3 tracks you are really digging at the moment, or that you really feel others should hear.*
2. any genre goes.
3. from top 40 popular to your hometown's most proliferate indie.
4. no links to direct downloads, unless allowed or offered by the artist

The songcard on the pole:
Should have: song title, artist name, genre and URL; description optional. And of course, who is next!

Comments? Suggestions?

  • We've gotta have musicblocks on poles or something.

  • Or at the very least... clickable hyperlinks (if only linkification of URLs) in notecards.

  • +1
    Good ideas
This would be neat for a route of music too

  • It would be nice if we could select music from all locations in glitch. Maybe we could earn or unlock more tracks.

  • Such a great idea! I've put a notepole up on my home street with some songs.

  • I'll join! But my top and bottom signposts are taken, so may I just use another space on my signpost? Or should we link to the person's location in the note, so people can copy and paste?

Also worth noting is that I have all my music block trophies on my street, which can be used as jukeboxes for visitors!

  • I'd propose that everybody just adds whose next to the note (signpost position doesnt matter). There's a group now too (see top post).

  • Hiya, is this just for pop and rock and other popular genres or would you like a classical musician's input too? Thanks and have a wonderful day :D Great idea too. *hugs* and cheers,

  • Diversity is the key! Some people might have headache inducing hard techno on their music pole, some  throat-achingly raw metal screams, and some... soft and soothing classical. :-)

That said... I didn't really think this whole idea through... it being a route, how do you get people to visit places when content is mostly static... (I'll head over to the other arts and creativity routes, see how they do things.)

  • Fun idea. I'd like to be a part of this, please. :)

Maybe being a part of the route entails agreeing to a requirement to change your music links every x number of days? Also, you could have members edit the title of their note with the date the links were last updated, so route runners can see how old the links are before deciding whether or not to give them a listen.

  • Could I have an invite to the group, please?

  • Sounds neat. While I like a whole variety of usic, I have a particular love for industrial. y signpost is pretty full right now, though.

  • Defo add me. I will post some of my current fav. tracks on a post.

I will also place a signpost with lyrics to some of the songs by the Sloth Knockers Glitch band
and put my music block trophies underneath for you to sing along (as the lyrics go to different music blocks) and provide some feedback.

You might want to invite Helium Penguin from the metal rock route as they already have note poles with different links to songs and an Ozzy Osbourne tribute shrine.

Could I ask that if there are links to listen to tracks on other websites that they be accessible to everyone as some things like Spotify, etc. are not available to people everywhere. I think youtube might be safe/universal enough?
