Maybe this already exists, but it seems like horizontal expansion of the home interior always goes right. I'd like to be able choose to expand to the left as well, like the way your home street works.
As awesome as this would be, I have a sneaking suspicion it's not going to happen for some time. Still, +1 to this.
See, your house and your backyard are actually part of the same street. So, effectively, this would be adding planks to the middle of the street. It could probably be done, but may end up being at the bottom of the to-do list due to return on investment in coding time.
Carl Projectorinski Well, I don't know how difficult it really is. It's simply a matter of expanding the home, not the yard... In any case, it makes it very difficult to expand in a manner that doesn't require an enormous amount of item movement unless one has fully expanded their home already and wants to increase horizontal space.
For that matter, expanding the home in either direction should present a problem if it works like you say, since either causes movement of the yard (which, unless they're using some very arcane functions, it does not)
Try not to think of your house and yard as two different locations. If you think of your home and yard as one space that is split by your magic rock's location (just like your home street is), then the house being expandable only to the right makes sense (left of rock goes left, right of rock goes right). And, really, the only thing that seems to make the right-only house-expansion option a pain is if you've already decorated and don't want to take the time to rearrange the original stuff.
+1 to the idea but I also do not think it will happen.
Are any of you on the dev team? You seem to be so certain that the house cannot be expanded to the left, yet I see no practical reason for that limitation, programmatically or conceptually. Maybe a dev can chime in on this?...
