Mind the Gap Please

With the news that the subway will be going, sometime, I thought I'd have a go at getting another one of the badges.  It took me 319 trips to get the 251 badge a difference of 68 so I thought, well Violet did really, what is the gap between your badge and the actual number of visits to the subway.  Who is the winner, or in this case the loser :)

And for info, it is because the counter didn't work for a while

  • It took me until 335 to get the 251 badge, so 84.

  • Riding the subway with others makes the gap bigger - the train leaves too fast and is considered one instance.

  • My gap brings all the boys to the yard.  And then they play baseball, which is cool, because it's an outdoor activity.  And outdoor activities are good for boys in yards

  • I've been finding if I leave the station for a sec, return to the station, then get back on the train, the counter ticks up.

If I don't leave the station, the counter stays the same.

Whether the trips without the counter ticking were actually counting, I can't say.  But I'm not taking the chance. :)

  • Wait. Is there a counter we can use to keep track? Where?

  • The counter mentioned in this thread is the loading screen for the subway when you first enter: it tells you how many times you've visited the subway car.

  • Should work just switching back and forth between Red/Blue so it forces it to change ?

  • ha!
Posted 8 months ago by awdrone Subscriber! | Permalink
  • yes, switching between blue and red works, but then I have to use an extra key to highlight the blue, and don't like that part. Weird but true. :)

  • I remember when I got the final badge (503 Chute Jockey) my gap was around 90 or 100. I probably did half of the riding on my own, and half with a group.

  • 118 to get the badge for 103. So gap of 15.

  • My gap was 65 for the Chute Jockey badge, so not too bad after reading other entries.

  • I got the 103 badge after about 107 or 108. Not too bad.

  • I just got the 251 badge.... Having had 330 train rides... Gap = 79...
If I remember correctly the gap last time was only 11, so thats a big increase, definetly think how many are riding the train with you plays a part (when your just doing the get on/off every station)...

  • i heard hopping about helps with the gap thing! something to do with activating another instance of the train when you move the screen?
i also heard if you feed pigeons at random intervals they start repeating behaviour patterns on the silly belief that they can affect the feeding randomess.

  • Currently on my 313th ride. Still waiting for the 251 badge. *sigh*

ETA: Oh, and I've been switching between red and blue since about ride 110.

ETA 2: It took me 354 rides to get my 251 badge. So I have a gap of 103!

  • they should come up with another badge for overshooting the number of rides to make up for the gap...
Posted 8 months ago by awdrone Subscriber! | Permalink
  • there should be also be a badge for time spent inside the trains! once i logged off during a ride and didn't play again for 6 weeks
Posted 8 months ago by awdrone Subscriber! | Permalink
  • i ALSO heard there's a little i don't want to say CHEAT where you type /home inside the train and it still counts as a ride. and i'm being deliberately obscure with this information on account of having absolutely no evidence to support any of my claims.

  • all I know is this is my 310th visit to the subway car, and I still haven't gotten my Commuter Mug badge (251) so my gap is at least 60
    [ETA] 312th ride, got badge

    gap = 61

    :-) that I know
    :-( that is not zero

  • My gap for the final badge at the end was about 35 I believe. I never took notice along the way but there were definitely some gaps.

  • I've visited the Torpan Cleft subway station to ride the train 85 times (not counting any of the other stations, most of which i've visited between 12 and 20 times) and I've yet to receive even one subway badge. Yes, each time I've visited a station, I've gotten on a train. I've been willing to grin and bear it but this is getting a bit ridonkulous.

[ETA] Excuse my bad math...I've visited the Subway car 85 times according to the game. According to my own count, which I started keeping about three months ago, I've visited the Subway car 182 times. So that's a gap of roughly 100.

  • Well I finally managed my Chute Jockey, took me 585 rides so a final gap of 82 so mine increased as well.  Some of the trips were with 3 or more people so I am guessing that they are the ones that added to the count.

Keep going all of you, it's worth it in the end..... honest!!!!

  • FINALLY!! Got the 503 rides..... At 590 rides.... 99% of the time I was riding on my own, I used the switching between blue/red each trip but it would still occasionally leave straight away & I guess not count as a separate trip.
