Contrast on skill tree

I really, really can't see the difference between the light green on the skills that I have learned and the white on the ones I've yet to learn unless I tilt my laptop screen all the way back, squint, and mutter an incantation.  Is there any way you could see it in your heart to increase the contrast on this?  Have a heart for those of us with weak eyes. :)

  • Here's what the old skill page looked like. Personally I think it was absolutely BOSS, and they didn't need to change a single thing to it. Why god why? http://www.flickr.com/photos/53585874@N08/7136765345/lightbox/

  • Yeah, this was one of those "improvements" that seemed like not so much of an improvement. The usability definitely went in the wrong direction, imo.

  • Oh... Wow. I'm new here, so I never saw the 'old' skill page, but that's... That's just so much better! I can tell at a glance what each skill is and that you've already learned it!

I glance at the 'new' skill page and every last skill looks like I haven't learned it to my poor-with-colors eyes!

  • I think the current overall design is better than the old one (it's easier to choose a new skill, you are not immediately overwhelmed with information, etc). However, I agree that the pale colors of the full tree are problematic given that TS can't know whether people have even got proper gamma settings on their monitor, and I imagine it's hard for people with color blindness to deal with. I have trouble with it because my gamma settings are purposely wrong (I have great difficulty seeing in video games with low contrast purple or red settings like WoW dungeons; washing out the colors with a higher brightness and a few other tweaks makes things easier).

  • The current appearance of the full skills list is so pale and desaturated it gives my brain the "this is all disabled" cue.

  • *checks skill page*

Oh dear, yes. That whole page is really not good on the eyes.

  • Quite in agreement that the old skill page was far better.

The alphanumeric codes I've added to this little screenshot are the color codes of the borders of the three boxes that resemble each other.  As you can see, two of them--"Learnable" and "Missing Requirements"--really are identical.  The only way to distinguish between them is the subtle difference between the colors of the letters inside the real boxes, and the legend doesn't include examples of the letters.

  • Yes this is horrible. I hope it is still "in progress" and is on the "to do" list!

  • +1 I like the way it is now, but I agree that the contrast should be improved for those with color perception problems and/or low-quality monitors. (It is a basic "accessibility" faux pas.)

  • Thank you LųĉĩđεşşΨ for posting that.  I was recently wishing I had gotten screen grabs of some of the old interfaces.  I prefer the new organization, but I'd prefer the old icons.
