Serious Routes

Tired of loading home street after home street for only a handful of disorganized resources? Are you spending more time searching for those few trees you're after than you are actually harvesting them? If you're serious about gathering resources, Serious Routes are for you.

Serious Routes mandate a minimum of 12 units of the route type, and most of our members have the maximum possible (e.g. 15 for trees). This means less loading, less searching, and more harvesting. Simply put, you get more, faster.

We are currently accepting members to all routes listed on the site. Our tree routes use the top sign and our other routes use the bottom, so as to allow members to also participate in the corresponding HRR routes (which use the opposite). If you're interested in joining a route, please contact the route's curator.

And if you're interested in curating, joining, or just using a Serious Route that doesn't exist yet, let us know!

edit: You can find the new Serious Routes thread here: http://www.glitch.com/forum/offtopic/23804/

  • In keeping with the serious tone of this thread, I will refrain from commenting that Serious Beans should rightfully lead to Serious Gas.

    ( I'm sorry, I couldn't help it :X )

  • Serious business is serious.

And seriously?! What's wrong with more routes! This 'madness' leads to more community provided resources for everyone.

  • I'll definitely be using them! Already on 2 so no room for another.  I think ye olde streets or Ur will become a thing of the past : )

  • I would love to be on a serious spice route ;)

  • I think it's a great idea, less streets to visit for the same amount off resource gathering, which means more time to roam the streets of Ur and play!

  • Great stuff!
Just ran the Spice route :)

  • Is there a group to join?

That's easier to find again when I need to follow a route, than trying to find a thread that is no longer on the front page

I currently have 10 bubbles, ans 5 gas, but will change that shortly and become all bubbles, so pencil me on for the Serious Bubbles route
Posted 6 months ago by IrenicRhonda Subscriber! | Permalink
  • ^ No group, but seriousroutes.com will stay current with all the info you need, and is fairly easy to remember. There'll be a lot more to come on the site (e.g. comprehensive resource listings), and it'll all be organized better than would be possible in a group format.

  • count me in for the serious spice routes. Killing gas trees as we speak.

  • Hey, FYI- the regular resource routes are using the top AND bottom AND middle sign posts.

While I think this is an awesome idea, you might want to coordinate with them about sign post placement so as to avoid confusion.

  • beer  route?
Posted 6 months ago by Rudi Subscriber! | Permalink
  • Feylin: All of HRR's top sign routes are for non-tree resources, so anyone who would qualify for a Serious Tree Route would almost certainly not qualify for those routes (and vice versa) because there is not enough room to have both 12+ trees and enough non-tree resources.

  • hi :) I have a lot of Fruit Trees and can add more. So if you need a curator for the Fruit Route or just a normal member I would love to join ;)
Posted 6 months ago by Hana Firefly Subscriber! | Permalink
  • I have 12 fruit trees. Right now I'm not able to play regularly enough to step up to being curator, but I've love to be part of a serious fruit route.

  • Have you considered coordinating with the folks over on this thread? KitchWitch also had this same great idea -- about a week and a half ago!

  • I think that it's really the more, the merrier with routes! Different people have different priorities. Some people like more meandering routes, others are super goal-oriented and In It For The Resoruces. Both are okay.

  • I'd like to put my name forward for the serious egg route :)

    Thanks ...

  • If the non-tree resources are considered, it won't be a very big list... but I would love to be on the sparkly route, obviously :3
Jurkowski has 18 Metal rocks and nothing else.

Every renewable resource (jelsacs, rocks, etc) would be pretty awesome because you could likely do the route several times over the course of the day. Unfortunately a pure firefly route is still buggy as hell, if they still refuse to get in the jar on the rare occasion.

Next best step might be to aim at the dirt and peat pile lovers :D

  • ^ Non-tree routes are being considered based on demand! Honestly, though, if we can find a curator and one other person interested in joining, both with at least ~80% of their street cultivated with that resource, that's enough to start a Serious Route :)
Posted 6 months ago by Lx’s Ghost Subscriber! | Permalink
  • Well..I think it is Egg-tastic :)
Posted 6 months ago by Atlantis Subscriber! | Permalink
  • Are your members willing to not flood their streets with 50 lag-inducing animals?
Posted 6 months ago by larky lion Subscriber! | Permalink
  • I haven't experienced any lag on the route? Though I apologize if my street is one of the culprits :)
Posted 6 months ago by Liza Throttlebottom Subscriber! | Permalink
  • i like the idea! Density has always been a concern on the resource routes. This approach would be a step in the right direction to address that issue.

You might want to see if Boom and Bust would let you use their site to manage route memberships; they have a pretty slick solution to manage the gas route: www.glitch.com/groups/RHVP8...

oh, and I'd totally be up for helping out/curating a jellisac route !
Posted 6 months ago by CleverCharacterName Subscriber! | Permalink
  • Haven't tried it yet, Liza.  But this is a serious problem I encounter on the HRR routes.  Everyone wants to host a zoo, it seems.
Posted 6 months ago by larky lion Subscriber! | Permalink
  • If you're saying that there's too many routes already, and that Housing Resource Routes is the real routes:
    McDonald's. Burger King. Wendy's.
    Pizza Hut. Domino's.
Stop and Shop. Whole Foods. ShopRite. Trader Joe's.
    Apple. Microsoft.
Delta. American Airlines, United. US Airways.

In my opinion, Housing Resource Routes are more for people who want to help out their community, but still want to make their home street how they want. Serious Routes are more for people who don't care about how their home street looks.

  • Ugh, I ran into the too-many-animals causing lag problem when running the HRR spice route the other day. Couldn't even harvest any trees on the street because it was so laggy. Sucks too cause the street was all spice trees.
