Has anyone played Glitch on a tablet?

NOT talking about ipad obviously :)

I'm referring to the Motorola Xoom specifically but if anyone has played on any Flash capable tablet I'd like to hear about it please. Can you actually play Glitch on one of these tablets? Does it work okay or does it crash?

  • I've played Glitch on a laptop too. You're right, not a tab... :)

  • I have an iPad. I can check the forums, but not actually play. I think that's because the iPad doesn't support Flash. I still love my iPad though.

  • Glitch feels slightly cramped on my 13" laptop.  I'd hate to think what it'd be like on an ipad.

  • Tested.

It "works" but loads very slowly. Lack of arrow keys makes it hard to navigate and I gave up shortly after I entered the world since I couldn't get out of my house. :) I like where your head is on this, would love an Android app to do basic things while I'm mobile.

  • Thanks for reporting your results D. Rainbow :)
I did check out the Xoom when I was in town today and I found out that unless I sign a contract with Verizon that the Xoom costs $700+. I'm already with AT&T and don't want a contract with more payments with someone else.

  • I got on with my Xoom which runs Android honeycomb, motion was whacky and chat was extemely difficult. I gave up after about 4 minutes.

  • I did find out yesterday from a friend who has an iPad that there is a browser called "Puffin" that can play flash games. She was on her iPad and playing Glitch. It was not as easy as on a  PC obviously but do-able. I downloaded Puffin onto my iPhone and I could sorta play but without a keyboard I couldn't do much.

  • I have a xoom, and can play a bit-- it's not a pretty sight (the game closes itself at the drop of a hat and no climbing). Too bad, really -- this game would be perfect for a tablet.

  • If the devs could put an optional directional pad in the lower right, and "enter/space" buttons in the lower left, it would be playable via my ASUS Transformer tablet.  As it is, climbing ladders is impossible, and running + jumping is ridiculous.   That "seemingly simple" addition/toggle would make it playable via tablet.

  • I tried to load it on a few tablets at work. Both the Toshiba Thrive & Acer Iconia attempt to load the world but never complete :/
It goes to the street page loading then just cycles back to the world (planet view) again. *dissapointed*

  • I'll give it a burl on my off brand tablet and secretly hope it doesnt work - at the moment I have to go to bed eventually but if I can do it on the tablet my sleeping will never ever happen.

  • This possibility would be AWES0ME!! But right now, there is absolutely no way to press up to climb and space to jump. It is, however, possible that somebody could make an app that played the flash portion and embedded controls (if TinySpeck isn't interested).  But I also agree with @Rainbow: "would love an Android app to do basic things while I'm mobile."

As far as I understand, the app has already been created (http://www.glitch.com/groups/RA55SQL9LG32M9T/discuss/2653/) by an Android dev, but is waiting for TinySpeck's word to release. What up TinySpeck???

  • I have tried on an HP Touchpad.  It loads quite well, but I can't move well.  I even have a wireless keyboard which works well with the Touchpad but it doesn't work with Glitch...

  • I have been able to get it to work on my Acer Iconia a500. Its limiting without the keyboard, crashes easily, and there is a noticable video lag. It was a bit painful.

  • Has there been any improvements or downloads for Glitch on Android tablets? Is there a tablet flash download I need? Many thanks

  • I just tried it with my laptop converted into tablet mode with pen input. Couldn't figure out how to jump, but otherwise it was okay.
