Fandom Fangrrl ideas

That is, several ideas that don't really fit together, but all have roots in one Fandom or another...

1) We have Oats. We have several kinds of Fruits... We need a recipe for Fruity-Oaty Bars, that when eaten grant the, "Man Out Of A Mouse," feeling. Have it require 15 ingredients, only stacks in 12.

2) A 5003 Loam badge, much like the Saint Peater badge for Peat -- Only The Loamly

3) We have Potions from the Cauldron and Potionmaking, how about Spells from the Wand and Wandery? Make a Wand out of 1 Plank, 1 Basic Crystal, 1 Sparkle Powder, 1 Rainbow Juice, 1 Essence of Purple, 1 Essence of Yellow Crumb, 1 Essence of Silvertongue and Tinkering 3 or 4. Spells require a Wand and 1 Paper (which becomes the inventory placeholder for the Spell) plus the ingredients to make one. Ideas for Spells are many and varied, able to copy most effects already in the game (which is why it takes so much to make a Wand) to ideas like one to make yourself invisible while In The World. To learn Wandery, you need to have learned Crystallography I, Potionmaking I, and Meditative Arts II.

There are more ideas, but that's more than enough to discuss in one post!

  • +1 for "Only the Loamly" ^_^
    +1 for everything else too
... except maybe the idea of putting magic into the game.  And as a Wiccan, I have nothing against magic, but it seems pretty redundant for this game.  Imagination is sort of like magic in this setting and we use it everywhere. ^_^  Great idea though.  I think I would have been all for the magic idea before the iMG changeover.

  • @Sororia Rose - the idea behind Wandery was that once you've learned everything and have all the skills and such... carrying around all the equipment to USE all of that is tedious and consumes so much inventory... so you learn Wandery and you have a stack of paper and a Wand you carry with you and just pick up the ingredients for the Spell that mimics what you wanted to do.

    Example1:
You want to repair your Cauldron from 87/200 to 200/200 -- you need your Wand, 1 Sheet of Paper, and 113 Chunks of Metal Rock to inscribe the Repair Cauldron Spell for 113 units of repair work, and you have the Spell. Use the Spell and it fixes it up perfect! Obviously, you'll still need a Tinkertool for some things, and it may be easier to use a Tinkertool in some cases, and the material component will change with each item and effect you want to do. But you can leave the Tinkertool at home and not have to carry it with you all the time. Leave the Cauldron at home and make a Spell to create a Rainbow Juice.

For a custom carrybag (like the Spice Rack or Toolbox) that only holds Spells, of course call it a Spellbook (maybe let it hold 20 or even a double-row of 16 for 32 slots).

  • I really like all of those ideas, especially the wand as a way to save inventory space. And it's more skills to learn for those of us who have run out or nearly out.
