Dust traps trick?

Hi,

I usually don't walk much in the Ancestral Lands, however I usually (90% of the time) find only "down" traps there - with nobody who could have set them around. Now, of course this may be just bad luck... but I was wondering whether there is any special trick to get more "up" traps, or I guess I'll never get that last badge...

  • Ayzad, They just pop up randomly. Try varying the time of glitch day that you go. You'll get that badge eventually. Good luck!

  • Traps don't spring back up immediately.  The person who set them off may be several streets away or even booted out of AL before they reset.

There's no trick.  You just have to be there when they aren't already sprung. Try playing at unusual times:   I always get better rewards if I run through AL late night/early morning US time.

  • I've found I have more success if I go during off times of the day when traffic is low. When I have gone there at 5 pm - 8 pm EST I have very little success, but if I go later in the evening there is usually more up traps. Good luck :).

  • Just keep wandering! Try to go to places that look like people might not travel - zig zag around or follow one straight line. Wander wander wander...

  • I know, it's frustrating, but keep trying! Definitely experiment with different times of day if you can. I agree with others that early evening hours for the Eastern US seem to be the worst times to hit the AL.

  • Listen for the creaking sound that lets you know a trap is ready.  You might hear this before you leave a street.  Connecting streets seem to be empty most often because they are the only entry into a new area and everyone has to go that way.  As soon as you get to the new land, veer off the straight route.  If you can't find a "live" trap just keep going and come back later.  Off hours are better for finding traps that are "live".  I live in the US and find more traps in the early morning hours before dawn.

  • I like the double dead ends. Many people avoid them because you can easily get trapped by a Juju, but less traffic means greater chance of active traps. Also going during off peak hours if you can helps for the same reason.
