A question about bags

Can you put a bag inside another bag, for even more storage room?

Since I have only had a few days to actually play, I didn't get to test this myself.

  • No - or at least I could not - but that still leaves you with lots of bags

  • @Zany there is enough room to add 16 bags in your slots. Close your bag and you will see spaces to add new bags. Also you can fill a bag and now keep it in your cupboard inside your house if you have one. Or drop them all over the floor like I have :)

  • Thanks.
I haven't gotten a house yet, but I hope to, soon!

And I think I have about 6 bags, but still seem to run out of room. Perhaps when I better know what I'm doing I'll be able to manage my stuff better.  :)

  • oh man (hand to head) I have been managing with only two bags.. but of course it has been incredibly limiting. DOH! No wonder I am still only level 16

  • I have a bigger bag in each slot, and some bags at home, and it's still not enough.  Perhaps my avatar should wear a back brace.

  • I have 10 bags, two Tool Boxes, Alchemistry Kit, Elemental Pouch and Spice Rack. (And assorted bags at home.)
    So here's the questions?
Is there really any advantage to Tool Boxes? Or Alchemy Kit? Should I ditch them in favor of a bit more micromanagement?
(During the last test I FINALLY go all my bags organized RAW RESOURCES, PROCESSED, FOOD 1, FOOD 2, FRUITS, VEGGIES, DRINKS, POWDERS, GAS&BUBBLES, MISC 1, (which is currently filled with Music as I'm working through Crab achievement), MISC 2, KITCHEN & LAB TOOLS, OTHER TOOLS (especially passives), KIT, POUCH, RACK.)

  • One advantage is that items of that type automatically go into those things (in the case of alchemistry kit, elemental pouch, etc.), so you DON'T have to go back and reorganize things. I don't know... maybe they're cheaper than bigger bags too? They would be even more useful if they went into bags (which they don't).

  • And they're more easily recognisable than yet another bag, even with a name.
Funnily enough Lord Bacon-O your bags and boxes tally exactly with mine, and also have very similar names.
Maybe there is an optimum organisation Glitchian carrying capacity?

  • Oh yeah, I do have the kit/pouch/spice rack thing going on in some of the slots, but I tend to forget about those because I never have to look at them... which makes them worthwhile.  I shelled out the 501 extra currants for a tool box recently, just because there aren't enough bag colors available.  There's no other advantage to a tool box once you have sixteen or more tools, since you can put them all into one bag and they don't really have to move from their spots.  I put kitchen tools into their own bag, which is only about half full.  Having a second tool box would be wasteful, since I don't think there are enough tools in the game yet to fill two boxes... unless firefly jars count as tools?

  • There are three too few tools to fill up two tool boxes (unless you carry two tinker tools around). Don't forget egg and bean seasoners count as tools. I carry two boxes, one with unrepairable tools (orb, cooking tools, seasoners and alchemy tools) and the second box with everything else.

My bag organization system includes three miscellaneous bags at the far left of my inventory, four empty slots to monitor what's coming into my inventory, a bag of food and drink, spinach (because you should always have spinach readily available,) a bag for plant/animal stuff (beans, poison, antidote, powder, seeds, eggs and baby animals,) Raw materials which can be gathered and then spice rack, alchemistry kit and elemental pouch at the very end.

  • Jars do not count (but the seasoners do).
With two tool boxes I have three extra slots (counting the two tinkertools). So at this point I'm not really wasting that much space. But, yes, some other benefit for toolboxes would be nice. It;s not like things tool automatically go into them.

  • I have 1) one tool box with tools I use regularly, 2) a full ag which contains extra tools, emo bear and firefly jars.3)  A spice rack,  and 4&5) two elemental pouches because I keep producing too many red elements. This followed by 6) orb, 7) spinach and 8&9) few empty slots.10) one generic bag which holds raw items I collect (by default after empty slots are filled, stuff ends up here),and 11) one food bag.  12) A bag for drinks that give buffs and powders 13&14) 2 small bags for music boxes (in case I run into a crab and I have to play music for the badge), and 15) one bag for emblems to get some free energy or mood as needed, 16)The last  bag is to hold items I want to auction or donate.

  • I wish I could choose the default bag that new items I purchase or pick up or mine go into. If I have several bags that have slots available, my new stuff ends up all over the place.

  • I'm glad to see mention of the 'bigger bag.'  I was starting to think I had imagined it - I spent a good chunk of the last test trying to find someone who had one in stock.

I've got one sack for 'harvestables': eggs, beans, bubbles etc. The others are for kitchenware, tools, ingredients and noms (prepared food and drink).  Sounds like a tool box would be a helpful addition and would free up a bag for miscellaneous things like batterfly poo. I'd hate to get that mixed up with the crudites.

  • Ida, they are at Hardware vendors, but you need to scroll down.

  • @ FrankenPaula: Someone mentioned that placing an empty bag in the first slot on left in inventory will catch items first. Then they can be sorted into which ever bags you want. I'm going to try that next time the game opens.

  • That's my system, after two tool boxes, The leftmost three slots of my inventory are bags for miscellaneous items. An item you pick up will fill a lower slot, if one of those aren't available, it will fill the left most slot in the leftmost bag.
