Realty feature and price search

Can you build a better search feature into the realty listing, please?  Region is useful, but far from the only consideration (I know, location, location, location).  The need for better searching is evident from the number of discussions with a topic of "Where can I find a house with X?"  Can we have check-boxes or other controls to find a house with herb gardens, egg plants, more than 8 garden plots, etc.  And the For Sale/Sold sections can be changed to a couple of check-boxes instead of taking up all that room.  A price lower and upper limit constraint would also be very useful.  I'm not planning to move back into a 1K starter home, but I'm dreaming forward to a 30 or 50K someday.

Thanks for listening!

  • Great ideas. Until some of these are implemented, at least you can use the Greasemonkey script that allows you to sort your search by price:

    beta.glitch.com/groups/RHV1...

You could also join the 3rd Party Script/ App Testers Group and suggest that someone create some other real estate related scripts.

  • Greasemonkey does NOT work for IE...so it is useless for many of us.

I like the idea of better search in-game.

  • Audaria, have you ever considered trying another browser? I've seen you mention your IE use in a few threads now. I ended up having to move away from my go-to browser as of late (Safari) due to some motion control issues with the game. So far I've played in Safari, Firefox and Chrome. It's been interesting to see how the game and scripts function in each.

I'm sure some of the functionality of scripts built by users will eventually find their way into the game, but it also seems that the TS team encourages users to get involved with the evolution Glitch by creating scripts. And the users building the greasemonkey scripts have been very responsive. I'd just hate to see you miss out on what *I* think is such a great aspect of this game community, the creativity and resourcefulness of the users. You might learn to love the tools! :)

Just my two cents and I hope I'm not sticking my nose in where it doesn't belong.

  • ...aaaand, yes, being able to search by price would be so helpful. Thanks for the heads up on the script, The Cat Face!

  • Violet Lapin, your nose is just fine where it is, lol. I appreciate the helpful suggestions. I have tried other browsers in the past and am actually very happy with IE. The game plays just fine for me and I don't seem to have as many lag issues as many complain about in the game. I'm not sure what browsers they're using. IE also works very well with all of the other sites I visit.

Since IE is a very popular browser, I think it likely that many people playing Glitch also use it. So, pronouncing the Greasemonkey scripts the perfect solution (not saying you did this) for the masses may not be realistic, since it does not work with IE. I don't think it's unreasonable to ask for those features to be in-game.

  • It's not unreasonable at all. :) And it's interesting to hear IE does so well with lag.

  • Just curious Violet Lapin, is your name from the French word for rabbit? I think of a purple rabbit every time I see it. :-)

  • Yes it is... and that's the point! I'm glad it's not lost :)

(Sorry Mereret if I've managed to derail your thread!)

  • ...doesn't it mean more like "bunny purple"? What with the modifier reversal and all..? :)

  • *has a horrible flashback to French class and starts to cry*

  • It's been awhile since I've used much French, so I'm a little rusty, but...from what I remember, the modifier is not ALWAYS reversed. I think when you are talking about something that is not real (such as a purple rabbit) the purple goes before the rabbit, as opposed to when it is something real like furry it goes after. Of course, I could have this backwards, or just skewed. Maybe it applies to adverbs instead of adjectives or something.

In any case, sorry again Mereret!
