Pet twice, nibble once... get the same meat as only one pet?
So what's the purpose of being able to pet piggies and massage butterflies more than once, if the amount of meat or milk I get is the same either way? (This is with Animal Kinship 5)
Yeah, it's +Mood and +XP, and I think maybe +Favor to Humbaba, and it's something you do hundreds of times a day. I think it's worth it. If you don't think so, you don't have to do it; you'll still get meat and milk from petting once.
I'm not sure about AK5 but with AK7 I'm fairly certain I get more super-harvests if I pet twice. I have fifteen piggies and I've tried nibble, nibble / pet, nibble, nibble / pet, pet, nibble, nibble on all my piggies and the more I pet the more SH I seem to get. Of course if you're trying not to level up you're a bit stuffed as you get 12xp for each pet and nibble (well, you do at AK7)...
Doing pet, pet, nibble, nibble on all my pigs I get an SWF block every game day (always the same one though!) so I'm now dumping them in random locations :0)
I asked about this before and was told that the pets are mostly for mood and xp. I really noticed this was true when I got AK6. I don't need to pet and can nibble twice. I usually pet twice per pig because I get 12 xp per pet if my mood is in the highest (winking face) zone.
I have also noticed that sometimes petting a pig that won't allow itself to be nibble will change its mind, but not often. Feeding it a meat works better.
So...pet if you have the energy to spare and want xp and mood. Otherwise, just nibble.
