re: Rube music change

Now I will no longer feel ridiculously guilty if I want to use a rubeweed essence while on a busy street.  Accidentally disturbing someone else with that annoying little ditty is totally now a faux pas of the past.

Thank you for changing this, devs! <3

  • ah, see i always got a little giggle at that pavlovian response. i could imbibe and, as soon as the music started, watch every dot on the mini map go running toward it. lol

  • Oh no! The RUbe TERRIFIES my poor little glitch, and I always scurry up to the top of the screen, or return home, or jump as high as I can to escape from him. Now there will be NO WARNING!!! Oh the unpleasantness...!

  • I love The Rube and his music (it's actually my ringtone). I'll be gutted if it's taken away!

  • Aw, I shall miss the music.  It felt like such an event, like the glitchy equivalent of the ice cream van...

  • I love the new change. The music is not gone, you just now only hear it when it is meant for you. So in a way maybe that makes it more special?

  • Im so glad of this change, I won't have to rage refresh the game quite so often now -  i suffered from that music bug which kicks in randomly and would play the rube music or musicboxes on repeat. Busy streets could be a nightmare.

  • I'm of two minds regarding this change... I adore the Rube's jingle (I'd love to have it for my ringtone!) and will miss the "oooh, I wonder if they got a good deal!" excitement BUT hearing it all of the time somehow made it less special. Now, when I hear it I'll know that Rube's lookin' for me.

  • After being on a street where 20 people were all calling the rube........Im very glad this change was made. :)  No more scurrying off to other streets to get away from the ultra loud rube music.

  • I agree, the excitement of scurrying off to see if the Rube was in an area for me is sad to lose. However, today I heard the music and KNEW he was there for me and that was just as exciting, if not more so. Especially since I got my first deal with him (I messed up and accidentally cancelled his trade the first time he came for me.)

And my first deal leads to a rather amusing story I will share. First some background information. My husband works from home. While I was trading with the rube, I did not hear any sound from the office and had no idea he was on a conference call with his work....So when my trade was completed, I was so excited I shouted across the house: "WOOOHOOO! HONEY, I GOT A FIRST-CLASS HOE!" .......... Whoops. ROFLMAO. Fortunately, he doesn't think anyone on the other end heard me.

  • I love the Rube music. For me or anyone. The scurrying was fun.

  • For those of you who love the Rube theme song and want it for your ring tone, here is where all the cool kids got it:

(there are also nonRube tunes there, but I cannot imagie why you would want anyting but the Rube).

  • I love this change! Personally I don't like the Rube music, so I'm glad I only hear it when I have to now. But I guess that's just me.  xD

  • Ask not for whom the Rube music plays. It plays for you.
