The Loneliness of the Long Distance Cubimal badge

I've been trying to get this badge but no luck. If you have gotten this badge, can you please tell me which cubimal you used? Also, is the distance that a cubimal can race random or pre-determined? Thanks!

  • I think it's totally random. But in case it's not, I got mine with a Juju Bandit cubimal.

  • I'm pretty sure it's all random.  I just grabbed a cubimal box and raced them sequentially as fast as my little fingers could click until I got it.

  • Yep, it's random!  I got mine while participating in a group race for The Swarm badge.  Which involved me racing through a full bag of cubimals as fast as I could for several minutes.  Somewhere in there, I managed to get the badge (and The Swarm one, too).

  • It was a Phantom cubimal. And I know it's random, but I was racing for the swarm badge also and even though I had tons of cubis going, I kept getting the longest distances with the Phantom. Was totally unsurprised when that was the one that finally went the distance for the badge!

  • I have raced a couple of hundred for the badge with no luck and then lent one of my cubimals at a party to a friend who got it first go.

I guess it will happen when it happens.

You can always tell if it is going to be a good cubimal run if they are speedy from the start.

I had more luck with the spellbound spindle badge one as there is at least a guaranteed 4% chance of success (with upgrade card). I genuinely wish there was skill involved in obtaining the cubi racing badge.

  • I filled a bag with cubimals and raced them all, one after the other, as fast as I could.  Got the badge that way.

  • I used fox, friend used fox, another friend used deimaginator, but it's entirely random and I got them by launching all at once.

  • I started out with a gardening vendor cubi, but after a while I switched to Stormy's method and got it in under 10 minutes. Much easier and faster.

ETA: I got it with a dustbunny.

  • I have four bags full of cubimals and raced them all as simultaneously as I could. I noticed that the more cubimals I raced at once, the slower they all were. I got one to go to 8.8 planks. So close!

  • Drank some buttermilk full mood 100%
Swoooo 's Groddle Street Spirit Cubimal went 9.24 planks before stopping.

  • Using the race-a-whole-case method, i got it with my brand-new Helga (i was using 16 of my Series 1 cubimals).

edit: i lied! i was racing a bunch at the same time and didn't notice that my Piggy hit 10 planks! My Helga hit 8.96 a second later.  I guess it is just luck?

  • I used a Smuggler and just kept going over and over. I did notice today tho, if using a house, do NOT get near the opening to the back yard, it stops the cubi. Make sure you have plenty of uninterrupted space to your right (as cubis race to the right).

Best of luck to you all!!!

  • I also used the "race a bag of 'em" method, and in my front yard got the badge in about three minutes...with a Bureaucrat!  Little dude went 9.36 planks!  There must have been some important paperwork across the way he *had* to get.  :D

  • Try moving to the far end of a street? I did a whole case at once over and over until it worked.

  • I got it on my second try with a Scion.

  • I stood at the far left side of the street, I raced a phantom cub, it went just over 10 planks... I ran along side it for fun :)

  • I just got it racing by myself, with a Piggy cubimal. Definitely seems like a "random chance" event, rather than something that can be planned.

  • I don't remember which cubi I used (a batterfly, maybe?); I just raced all of mine continually until one went the distance.

  • I used a Rook cubimal.

  • Mine was the firebog street spirit; leant my friend my frog and it got her the badge. It's unpredictable -- just get yourself a bag of them, stand at the far end of the street, and race them all a few dozen times. You'll get there.

  • my dustbunny did it, i find it was helpful to race in a wide open space with no obstacles in the way. i did it in my backyard, a spot where i extended it but had no features

  • Okay, it seems in that all of the above advice is great - allow lots of space with no obstacles and have a bag of cubimals and race them all at once. After a LOT of attempts using different variations I finally got the badge this morning using the above technique.

EDIT: A common old chick cubimal made the cut at 9.01 planks. He now takes pride of place with my trophies as a reward for his efforts.

  • I achieved mine using a firebog vendor cubimal after I kept trying and trying with it.  I found that it wasn't so tedious if I combined racing it with doing other stuff like visiting other streets, and whilst I was harvesting, mining etc I would let it race.

  • I finally got my badge! It was my Yeti cubimal that went 9.11 planks! Thanks for the advice, you guys!

  • I used a piggie and raced it while i was machining stuff.

  • I got it with good ol' Ilmenskie Jones

  • 10,44 planks with a 1st generation piggy.

I raced all five that I had (yes, I am not a collector) at the same time over and over, and after a few minutes, the pig got the badge. I don't think there's any mystery involved besides random luck. ;)

  • I got it last night racing all the cubis in my single cubimal case. The Sno Cone Vendor cubi got it with 9.18 planks.
