  • An informative, but depressing, link. Hopefully the tournament organizers fire Mr. Bakhtanians for good, instead of allowing him to return and become a repeat offender. More gaming businesses need zero-tolerance policies on sexism/harassment.

  • Some of the gaming communities are getting 'better', such as, I've not been 'bothered' in a while.  Then again, I'm also more careful and tend to be quieter.  But yes, the gaming community does have some bad apples and that kind of behavior should be unacceptable these days in my opinion.

  • It honestly doesn't help, either, when an article is published highlighting the problem while including subtle inaccuracies that further entrench the attitudes and behaviors people are trying to eliminate. The statement in the photo caption that "The video game world is largely male, but that is slowly changing" is simply false. Women have always been part of the gaming world (hello Simutronics), but are now becoming more accepted and visible members of that community. I'm glad that Glitch is a game that fosters an open and caring community. It is a rare gem among MMOs.

  • I've been following Anita Sarkeesian for quite a while, thanks for making this more known.
I would also recommend reading the 'how to kill a troll' article that is mentioned, it's a wonderful read.
