The most convenient thing about this game... (and a small suggestion)

I can't even begin to explain how awesome it is that while cooking, you're seamlessly able to whip another ingredient without even leaving the original recipe. It would be such a pain in the butt to grind the allspice into salt, grind the wheat into flour, make a bun, then go back to the recipe, etc. if all of that had to be done individually. So thanks a whole bunch for that, devs.

But I wish butterfly butter and cheese worked the same way. As far as I've noticed, that's the only stuff that you do need to leave the recipe for. So, bug? If not, I sure think us Glitchizens would be grateful to see that added.

  • I guess it does this because you don't need any tools to shake/compress.

It would be nice for them to have a way to link it to the recipe, though.

  • Yeah, we will probably eventually do this, but sine butter & cheese are made in a fundamentally different way it doesn't "just work". We'll see :)

  • I like that making butterfly butter and cheese are something you have to figure out. The other stuff, like spices and fruit and so on, you need a special tool to make. The "cost" of learning to make butter and cheese is needing to discover the secret of how to make them.

But of course, once I discovered how to make them, I am now totally in agreement with the OP that it would be super convenient to be able to do it automatically from the recipe. :) It's probably needlessly complicated, but in my fantasy world where all programming can be done with the blink of an eye, once you "unlocked" the secret to butter and cheese they would *then* appear in your recipes as creatable.

ETA: +100000 to the OP's other point, which is that the ability to make sub-ingredients in-recipe is completely brilliant and fabulous and one of the things I love best about the game. (As is the feature in the recipe window that tells you how much you'll have left of your ingredients.)
