Solution to street plot herb harvesting issues

Just had this idea: supposing after harvesting a herb plot on someone else's street, you got a message explaining that you COULD NOT LEAVE without replanting? And you got marooned there. I see this would only work with herbs, cos you could shuck to replant.
Then everyone could benefit from a tricky sittivation.

  • Do we even have "issues" or a "tricky situation" with street plots yet? I'm not convinced that we do. Besides, there is already a way to avoid any issues or tricky situations - by simply not putting any plots on the street. I don't think the game mechanics need to be tweaked in this case.

  • I don't see  that there is an issue or tricky situation either. Even though it is called Your sStreet it is a public place. If you put a garden out the front it is a community garden. Bad mannered to not clean up behind you and hoe but that is all

Putting a plot out there will be expensive in IMG, and renewing will be expensive in resources. I think there will be far fewer people putting public access gardens out there anyway. And if you don't want to bear the cost, or spend the time looking after it, for other people's benefit, don't put it put there.

  • I personally think we should be given an option at the time the plot is cultivated. Let the owner of the street decide if it's a public plot, or a private/semi-private (house key holders) plot.

  • So what if someone has no seeds, they don't have any herbs, don't have any money, they're stuck there for as long as they play Glitch. I don't see that as fair.

  • -1 another attempt at solving a non-problem.  If you don't want to share with non-keyholders, don't put anything in your front yard.  Spend all your imagination on your back yard and leave the front empty!

  • It was really an attempt at a solution to not putting herb plots in a front yard - and if someone has harvested your herbs, per se they have seed by shucking them.

  • Yesterday I was in someone's home street.  I harvested some available herbs.  I replanted some.  However: a number of the plots became "depleted" when I weeded them, and I was not able to replant those.  The garden did not give me the option to fix the depleted plots.  I've contacted the owner and will do something to fix it when I can figure out how, but at the time I could not do anything.

My point is: there may be several innocuous situations like this where someone simply does not have the ability to replant.

For example: sometimes you get no seeds when you shuck a flower.

  • Furthermore!  :)

I have good news from another thread of the exact same topic.  The devs are totally reworking the tutorial at the beginning of the game, and the helpful hints that your Rock gives you as you continue through your early levels.

All new players will be properly educated on how the street gardens work, so there will be much fewer misunderstandings!

This also came with word that the devs do not plan on changing the game dynamics or rules regarding street gardens.  At least, not until after they've finished all their planned tweaks and changes to the whole system and given us time to see how it all works and settle down.

I suggest let's focus on other issues in the game and give this one a rest for a while, and see what happens.
