Map Routing Algorithm

If I use the map to set a destination from Fairgower Lane to Groddle Ladder, it takes me through Groddle Meadow, using 11 street reloads.  There is a much shorter path, using 3 street reloads (Follybottom, Great Hole, Groddle Ladder).  Why does the map route me on such a circuitous route?

  • Apparently the Great Hole to Ix isn't a regular street, but  a 'teleport' and so the routing algorithm won't use it. From a player's perspective though, it behaves just like any other street, so I think the routing should use it - it just looks bizarre when it doesn't.

  • Hmmm maybe routing algorithm can get in account saved teleport locations and metro stations too.

  • It also tries to send you up one of the Drops, whichever one actually is pretty much just a drop. Which most folks can't do. Blerg.

Perhaps the Great Hole should have a glowy bit around it like the Northwest Passage, to indicate something weird?
