[fixed] Vendors now have limited supply?

A grocery vendor I went to only had 12 oats for sale, and varying amounts of other items as well. Do they have limited supply now?

  • Wow. They nerfed vendors on items we *cannot* get in any other way? This basically murders anything that uses oats, olive oil, honey, oily dressing, mushrooms, beer, salmon, ice, sesame oil, cubimal boxes (so now cubis will be even more rare and more expensive...) and other things we used to have to buy in bulk to get any real use out of...

  • In general, that *would make much more sense than unlimited numbers and is more inline with established MMOs that have far deeper intricacies than Glitch. It *should be based on what they're able to purchase from players. At least for items we're able to produce (unlike oats, which are only given when you get them as a bonus item from veggie gardening, which ime is not very often (I have 316 in my sdbs and have used less than 100 over the entire time I've played and have gotten every one from gardening. I garden voraciously. Personally, I think oats ought to be a crop just like any other instead of a special reward.

  • I wouldn't mind this so much if it wasn't for {as Woochi pointed out} they are doing this to items that are random drops. Sure they can be farmed, but not consistantly. Items we can't make/farm shouldn't be limited to us suddenly. I know they want to phase out vendors - have been saying so for ages - but this is silly. Other changes have to be made first.

  • Things are changing. I swear they are up to something. Most likely producing new game items that make some of these resources more available. I'm sure we are due mother upgrade soon. Why Nerf them so close to a weekend when they can bring out new toys. I'll bet a stack of meat they're doing something new very soon.

  • oh good it's fixed. I was like :/
Posted 6 months ago by Eye Wonder Subscriber! | Permalink
  • Yeah, we need things like:
    * Honey Bunnies (shake 'em for honey!)
    * Ice Trees (for ice..)
    * Mushroom Plants (to be planted only in dark patches or on streets, competition for eggplants)
    * Oil Trees (could look like palm trees, giving coconut oil pods that can be transmorged into oily dressing, sesame oil, and olive oil)
    * Coffee Bean resources that can be crushed with a grinder or something to make Coffee
    * A brewery machine (that requires Distilling) to make beer.
    * Make grain shuck-able into oats, or allow oats to be grown in the crop gardens.

That would take care of a lot of things, but putting limits on vendors without ANY of the above solutions (or solutions similar to them, at least!) makes many things too rare and too limited to be of any use. This basically MURDERS meat tetrazzini from being made more than once or twice a day... when we've been making them by the hundreds before...

EDIT: And while I typed that out, apparently this was a bug and was fixed. oO

  • phew, I was worried for a sec hah! :P
Posted 6 months ago by Syrup Subscriber! | Permalink
  • @Zen Biped: That's the idea. :) I was gonna include Coffee and Beer as transmorg targets in the proposal but I fear that would have stretched it a bit much. Then again, this IS Glitch we're talking about... where we massage and milk butterflies and nibble meat off of pigs without actually causing them any bodily harm or pain in the process.

  • @Woochi: It would be rather amusing, yes. Though, the material cost, fuel cost, and crafting time would have to be very low, or have the cans produced in high yield. Beer isn't supposed to be *too* hard to make. =p

  • Sno-cone maker sounds nice. Though, they could probably just as easily be produced with the blender. But yeah, recipe sounds nice!

Purple Sno-Cone could require like.. 5 ice, 5 birch syrup, 10 mangosteen, 10 whortleberry or something like that. XD

Green Sno-Cone could... 5 ice , 5 birch, um.. there's no green fruit.. i guess 10 pineapples and 5 jellisacs. XD (after all, you get green sno-cones when scooping jellis anyways).

But yeah similar recipes , with lighter requirements as you go down in sno-cone tiers.
