Badge questions

Now that I've finished all skills my next target is badges, but some of them seem ridiculous or confusing.

1. Is there a fast way to ride the subway a lot of times for the Chute Jockey badge?  As of now this looks like it will take over 10 hours of constant subway rides.
2. What is the best method for getting the Make a Crab Happy badge?
3. What is the best method for dying a lot to get the Dracula badge?
4. Where is a place where 4 plants are close enough together I can get the Fertilivert badge?
5. Is there a way to tell which recipes we have already made for the Seasoned Scullery Sleuth badge?
6. Does the Super Awesome Intern badge, Egg Hunter Trophy badge,  and Beta badges count towards the achievements leaderboard?  Or do only badges that every player, even if they just joined today can get, count?
7. Is there a method for either finding or causing dead trees for the Paul Bunions badge?

  • 4. They need only be on the same street, so, pretty much everywhere, including your house, most likely.

    5. Not really, sorry, just make everything again, it's not that bad. :P

    7. Have to poison 'em yourself, sorry. Your house works well for that. No one will interrupt you and now poisoning debuff.

  • How does fertilivert work then?  I've used it both at my house and several other streets with at least 4 trees.  OK, I'll get to cooking again while on the subway this time making a list of what I make.

  • Remember, you have to use Fertilidust, not the lite stuff for the fertilivert badge (so it effects all the trees on the street, rather than just 1 tree :)

  • Wait! Did I read this correctly? You have learned the whole skill table? All 93 skills? OMG!! Congratulations, Hamleigh! That is quite an accomplishment! I think there is only a handful of players who have learned all the skills to date. Whoo Hoo! (fwiw, I have 19 to go)

Oh, and I think the Happy Crabs achievement is broke. I do not know anyone who has received it.

  • Good luck on the subway badge. I've been putting on a movie and riding the subway over and over and over and over again and I'm still only up to like 150 rides XD

Badges are my main goal =3

    380 done, 92 to go!

Probably no fast way. You can ride and get one at every stop and get back on... but will take a while. Some achievements might be best to just ignore until you absolutely run out of things to do. You might forget about it and end up completing it just in the course of being.

    2. What is the best method for getting the Make a Crab Happy badge?
There was a whole group dedicated to figuring this one out. Try a search. (I honestly don't remember what their findings were.

    3. What is the best method for dying a lot to get the Dracula badge?
At about 6pm get your self a whole mess of no-no. Work through the cycle of No-no/Dying/Reviving/Mediation/More No-No. Just keep repeating until Super Pooped.

    7. Is there a method for either finding or causing dead trees for the Paul Bunions badge?
Poisoning trees. Best done in your backyard unless you (1) plan to replant and fertidust up the trees or (2) you don't mine riling people up at you.

  • I missed the sly 'skills finished' bit, but I figured the speed learning crew had to be done by now.  Anyone who applied the most rudimentary skill knowledge should be done next weekend.  I should hope the vast majority of frequent players will finish next month which is a blink of an eye for how long this game may last.

I remember when the crab stuff was being investigated.  I gave a theory for how to guarantee it, but I don't know if it panned out.  It'd be a pain and a half to coordinate, especially since new blocks have been introduced in the meantime.

  • The happy crab badge is making me nuts, too! My method was to go near the turn of day with rare music boxes (gng, usually) to each crab.... No love!

I usually just cook/grind/etc. to death whenever it nears daybreak, or when I am about to log out and won't be back before the next day. Just be sure to allow enough time to squish yourself out before the reset, or you'll waste mood and energy.

  • The Make a Crab Happy badge is not broken. I've got it. But it's not one that's going to be able to be planned really. Just play a lot of music boxes to a lot of crabs, and hope you choose right. I honestly don't remember which one I played, just a random box I've had in for a while.

  • I just got the Make a Crab Happy badge and I'm going to agree with QueenKellee on it. I just chose random music blocks whenever I saw the crab and somehow I just got it.

  • @ Queen: Congrats on "Make a Crab Happy" badge. That sucker eluded me all through beta! Glad to know it's not broken though. I will be an optimist and hope that I will hit the right MB one of these days (or months....or years....) hahahaha

  • I think the encyclopedia entry on crabs might provide a clue:

    www.glitch.com/items/crab/

    "Crab

Anyone knows music makes crabs happy, but it takes an expert DJ to satiate both the appetite for variety and yen for classic tunes it desires. The tunesmith who can play a full array of Music Blocks, culminating with a cherished favorite, will be richly rewarded."

I'm thinking you may need to play the whole collection of music blocks (hopefully not including the rare blocks like GNG) and maybe playing one particular music block last to get the achievement. As to which block is his cherished favorite, maybe this one?

    www.glitch.com/items/musicb...

    "Musicblock DG-2

    Dig those crazy pincer-snapping beats."
