:::resolved! thank you!::: Ok I can't take it anymore. Help! ::this thread has gone very weird::

How do you guys add links to words in your posts? Like someone will have a sentence that goes, "I love to shake my fanny like this" and the word "this" is glowing blue as a link. Yeah, I'm a noob and I suck right now. Lol

:::update::: thank you all for helping me out. But now this thread has become silly as all hell one. : )

  • There are link buttons at the top of the reply box (they look like pieces of chain and have a tiny green plus sign - to add a link - and a tiny red minus - to remove a link).  Just highlight a word and click the correct button and it will bring up a dialogue box allowing you to add a link to that text.

  • I've found, depending on browser age and whether yr on a phone, those options may not appear...so if you're not seeing the options above the 'post a reply' window, you may need to upgrade yr browser. :)

  • Or use HTML

  • Or, you can copy the link. Then, paste it in chat. For eg., if you want to post a link from flickr...go to the web page-copy the web address in upper top left- then past it in the chat window. Works for me. Not good with puter jargon. Others way I'm sure are easier.

  • Ah! That explains a lot guys. I mainly use my iPod to send messages on here. So that explains why I've never seen a green or red chain. Thank you all! This was extremely helpful.

  • I did a double-take when I read your example -- 'fanny' means something different in the UK. LOL!

  • Naughtiness prompts me to mention that my grandma, who was English, was blessed with the name Fanny Bush. Yup. Fanny Agnes Bush. FAB.

After marriage, she had the equally excellent name of Fanny Peaker. Fanny Agnes Peaker. FAP.

Poor woman would have had a tough time in today's England. Were I not on my phone, I'd post a link to a pic of her headstone, so as to bring the thread full circle.

  • @voluptua. dipity family lore has it that an ancestral uncle Richard, who was a rather tall gentleman, was married to the petite aunt Fanny. In order to distinguish them from another couple of the same names, the prefixes 'Big' and 'Litlle' were always applied in general conversation.
Seemingly, they were contemporaries of an Aunt Sarah whose beard my great aunt (coincidentally, another Fanny, who had a horrific episode involving bosoms and a mangle) used to shave on a weekly basis. I worry about my gene pool.

  • Lmao I didn't know fanny meant something else. Honest mistake!

::edit:: ooo... I just looked it up. I truly am sorry now. Lmao I will never have a fanny pack in England.

  • LMAO at the British Fanny vs US Fanny difference...I do chuckle that allegedly both nations speak English, yet we often have no clue what each other is saying...lol....OMG...I'm giggling so hard I'm crying...  VS and dipity...that is just too hilarious... *giggle*snort*

  • What does UK fanny mean?

  • Muncey Mango: To snatch an answer to your question from the interwebs and tie this neatly back to the original topic of the post, here is the definition you seek. (This one provided the most straightforward, right-at-the-top-of-the-page definition.)

and @ dipity: fingers crossed that those genes skip you. Just...stay away from mangles, ok?

  • @Voluptua -- that is amazing. Bless her. If she was a schoolchild today the teasing would be merciless!

@dipity -- so...Big Dick and Little Fanny? Sorry, brb, dying of laughter because of your entire post.

  • Would this be the correct place to mention that a beaver could be a great addition to Glitch?

To help craft furniture out of planks of course. Get your mind out of the gutter....
