Final Shipment now available at the Extremely Rare Items Vendors

The final shipment is in. Once sold out, these four items will never be sold at vendors: www.glitch.com/items/collec... • http://www.glitch.com/items/collectibles/npc-cubimal-factorydefect-chick/ •
www.glitch.com/items/collec...www.glitch.com/items/collec...

However, we did hold a few of them — 3 Yetis, 12 chicks, 9 potatoes and 6 spigots —  in reserve to hide around the world, use in future giveaways, and other purposes to be determined.

It was a fun and interesting experiment. So far, over 800m currants have been drained from the money supply (more than 40% of the currants held by active players) and another 750m so generated and spent on rares since they've been available.

  • People are broke, at least that's what they seemed in past days in trade. I expect this round of Yetis to hold more than the last, so at least half a week if not more.

  • I'd have bought a trophy if I'd had the money, but I don't think I've had a million currants in total, never mind all at once. Never really been one for playing the money side of games.

  • The million-currant trophy is a pretty shiny thing that just makes more explicit the same idea as an SDB with a Rook cubi or Beta Pickle -- "I spent a lot of time playing Glitch, and after trading my time for currants I traded my currants for THIS COOL THING I love to look at!"

I don't have one, but I look forward to admiring yours if I come to visit your tower.

Not sure where it is stated that there is anything zen in this game.

To me it makes just as much sense to say the million currant trophy reinforces everything capitalistic in this game.

The assumption might be zen=good and capitalistic=bad, and while I might agree with this, still it's all in the eye of the beholder.

  • ha finally got some money to buy the useless potato and spiggot. I really blew it all on that yeti the first day they came out.   Enough now... Everyone is POOR or in DEBT now

  • Will this mark a massive price cut in player made furniture and auctions? You know, since everyones broke and everything.
Posted 4 months ago by Muncey Mango Subscriber! | Permalink
  • i'm not broke.

i'm thinking of buying a half dozen more spigots. i think they will make nice decorative items.

the reason the defective chick does nto fit in the cubimal case is that the feet and beak are going the wrong way and it it too lumpy. it was obvious when you bought it; there;s no use complaining now.

  • I like my spigot and my potato. My potato sits on a shelf in my kitchen, judging me.
Posted 4 months ago by Aliera Subscriber! | Permalink
  • Flask, the dimensions are the same as any other cubimal and no, it was not obvious. This is not the place to discuss this but I don't think you're the one to say if I can complain or not.

What does spigot do? Also, are there any Ur banks open?

  • So, what has effectively been done is this: The rich and the poor once again have been divided. Those with currants were able to buy those without did not. How exactly did this contribute to the community as a whole? Oh yea, division of the classes. Nothing has changed.

  • So what has happened is that TA created some funny USELESS objects. This generated a lot of happy gameplay by longtime glitchen.
Posted 4 months ago by Lil Frumious Subscriber! | Permalink
  • *shrug* This is a game not real life. Why shouldn't people who play the game more, or play the game in a more effective way, be rewarded with a completely useless item?

It's not like they gave anyone over 3 million currants iMG-Printers that produce 10k iMG a game-day or anything. Just useless limited edition beanie babies, basically ;)
Posted 4 months ago by Liza Throttlebottom Subscriber! | Permalink
  • it was a way for TS to equalize the play field.  make some toys up for glitchens with money to buy.  and now they will be poor just like the rest of us.

though my poor-dom comes from trying to get cubimals the old fashioned way...  so many quoins lost!!!
Posted 4 months ago by Airya Subscriber! | Permalink
  • Really Vavoom, you think it's dividing?  I think it's uniting.  I used to be currant rich and now I own some useless trinkets instead.

We're united in our poverty now.  That was the goal of the "experiment", as demonstrated by the self-stated staff focus on draining the money supply and not providing any real benefit.

What sucks for new Glitches is that I won't be regenerating the fortune that took nearly a year to amass.  Too much effort.  So, sorry if I don't have enough currants to buy your things.
Posted 4 months ago by Mablem Tiipot Subscriber! | Permalink
  • i keep saying this: we are not united in poverty.

i still have a lot of currants.

later today after i buy some more rares i'll still have a lot of currants.

    i don't have a dusty stick, though.

  • *pokes flask with pauper's dusty stick*

/is not actually a pauper, just needs a bit more capital.

  • I have played Glitch so much for ages as I'd kind of run out of things to do.

This has reinvigorated me, probably beyond the availablity of the rare items.

If this is true for more players than just me,  if there has been a marked increase in activity,  then surely that is good for the game?
Posted 4 months ago by shhexy corin Subscriber! | Permalink
  • As Airya mentioned, the playing field has been equaled somewhat. Nothing like being used to having enough currants to be able to buy whatever you want from a gameplay perspective, and then going to "used up" icons defaulting to "pick up" because you don't have enough currants to tithe them.

I agree with Hawkwell's post about zen/capatilistic. I'd also put out there for consideration that a million currant trophy is much more zen than fox brushing. You may have to scramble for currants to get the trophy from the rare items vendor but if/when it goes to the toy vendor I imagine it'd be an item that most people would get only after accumulating the currants in other less-stressful ways, versus scrambling for currants. And once you get it you can place it on a shelf and then gain happiness and satisfaction from looking at it. Whereas fox brushing, it's kind of a scramble type feeling to get the fiber, and you might get some satisfaction from the sale of fiber or the rug you've just made but that kind of thing doesn't really last, as the "oh I made fiber!" feeling becomes, after not very long, just a part of the "I sold some stuff" or "I made some stuff" feeling, if that makes any sense at all (I'm probably not expressing my thoughts very well).

  • The assumption might be zen=good and capitalistic=bad, and while I might agree with this, still it's all in the eye of the beholder.

A fascinating topic to ponder, I'll be thinking about this for awhile.   Like many players I focus on making currants.   Imagine playing glitch under a vow of poverty, where the only reason to make goods or currants is to give them all away, and your currant balance is as close to zero as you can maintain it.     Perhaps someday I'll start my own monastic order...

  •  Hawkwell  wrote " Not sure where it is stated that there is anything zen in this game."

So the focusing orb, and the chakra & yoga comments from the frog is not zen? I find zen in this game all day long.

Also zen does not equal good and capitalistic bad. Zen just is. It is not a million currants.

I label it as thinking and move on.

  • If not having a couple of useless doodads is affecting your enjoyment of your game, I suggest you reconsider your priorities.

  • worrying about the existence of a meaningless object is not very zen
Posted 4 months ago by shhexy corin Subscriber! | Permalink
  • Who's worried? I don't worry lol. It's just a discussion and a popular one at that as I can see many comments about it.
As someone else said it is something to ponder. And it is just that....a ponder. No worries here.

  • I'm hoping that TS might consider offering these rare items for sale as currants or iMG since I find myself well off with one and not the other.  Just a thought.  Would have liked to purchase but not willing to make myself a pauper, at least not yet.
