Sillly thing I learned today...

That the vendors have more items, just scroll down! I've just been so excited i never noticed. Read it in the help chat and sure enough. Well, hello! BIGGER bags! I had just bought 2 MORE bags to expand my storage... BAH! Well, that means they vendors are like new again to me :)

Also... how do you all handle quests? Do you systematically go through them as they come or do you do your own thing and check/do quests as you see fit? Sometimes i get a plan in my head and can't be distracted by a new quest. I'll accept it to do later and get back to business.

  • I do 'em as time and opportunity permits. If there's pigs in an area, and I got a quest to pet porkers, then the swine get snuggled. Quests that automatically take you to a quest-specific area I do immediately, 'cuz they tend to be awesome.

  • I had to put my quest to plant two seasoned beans in my yard on hold until I bought a house. I also chose to wait to capture pigs for a quest until I had a house, because I knew I'd be able to release them into my yard if I waited. My quest order typically depends on what I want to do and what's convenient at the time. I definitely don't attempt to do them in the order they come in!

  • There are more things, although bigger bags have been around for a while :)

  • Oh no, never in order! And I had a color coded organizational system of bags going before I ever scrolled down either. Totally off my radar. And I never knew about spinach until today either. Silly me!

  • I would like to do them in order, but alas you often can't.

For me, it was learning that with certain items you can make other items from them buy doing something to it...and even once you get a new item, there are often things you can do to it to get another item... the milk to butter to cheese to stinky cheese to stinkier cheese comes to mind...lol. Just when I thought I was done, there was something else that could still be done...

  • some of the quests are better left until you have related skills - so don't go nuts trying to find that plum to finish:

for example: fruit changing + cocktails or knife&bard+fry pan cooking for the basic cooking quests, mining+refining+smelting to make all your ingot types

  • Hmmm, I think what I do with quests is read and see whether they might be attainable soon or nearby...then I get whatever I need on way to where other things are/where I was going at the time, and then at least this time, I traveled to everything all over in a wandery way, yet with my underlying quest in mind, to get all the points from visiting different places. I guess I mean I map them out in my head sort of along the lines of the actual maps and try to do the most attainable ones first. Next time I won't have much "you haven't been here" points to get, so I'm not sure whether that will change my gameplay... I like to interact with everything on the way to wherever I'm going as much as possible.

  • (((hugs))) to Tweety...you know you can make it stinkier...lol...

Oh, one thing I realized...you get XP points for visiting streets in the housing developments for the first time also...so, you often have houses on 5-10 different streets in a development...when you visit to go find a friend...you might want to consider visiting them all if it is the first time you are there... ;)

  • There are a few quests that are going to take a while and a few that I wish I had the option to dispense with. I'm never going to be fast enough to race, and getting the 30 quoins in 30 seconds is way beyond me, lol, shades of Mario Bros. I was never good at that sort of game.

  • I do things right now much like rascal. When I get the quests I read through them and if they seem obtainable at the time I will do them. If I pass a vendor that sells something I know I will need for a quest I stop and buy that thing then keep going. Yesterday, I was headed to the hole to finish that quest and also needed to get papers. On the way, I stopped and made elements, donated to shrines, visited each floor of the towers (to get XP on top of seeing where friends lived), massaged some butterflies, etc. I was able to get to level 7 and the last thing I did before closing was jump in the hole.

  • We are such a busy, industrious bunch! Thanks all for posting your methods. And catching pigs... and keeping them?!? I have GOT to get a house!

  • I admit with the races, some of the FS gals took an extremely helpful tone (tee hee, trust us former FSers to muck up the competition part to our own liking). We'd challenge each other, let one win and trade who was winning then (sheepish look). I did race two vets on once race and came close to winning but after that reverted to the wussy method...er, the collaborative approach, I mean.

  • Someone invited me to a race and i let them win, thinking it was a challenge. That's good though Rascalmom, help each other out :)
