Increasing max energy pool, quoin multiplier

Hi all!

So it has been one day of playing Glitch and here I am about to jump into my second day.  I am always astounded by the kindness and generosity of other players and am happy to join this community!

So I have what might seem like a silly question...what is the best way to increase my max energy pool?  I see players, obviously who have been around for a while, with thousands of energy and it seems so unfathomably large an amount (haha!).  I've been getting the +10 energy upgrade every time I see it in my iMG upgrades, but now it seems like it's becoming less and less common and all I see are the cards that give upgrades I don't really want or need, and keepables.  I've been getting those unwanted ones anyway (which may have been a mistake, I don't know) but besides gambling on buying reshuffle cards for 2k+ a pop, is there a better way?  Again, I know that it's probably just a function of Glitch age, but I would gladly listen to any advice you may have (related or no!).

Thanks!

Edit:  I just wanted to say thank you very, very much for your kind gifts and good advice!  :D <3

  • You can reshuffle once each (game) day, as well. I don't know about the distribution of energy tank cards for lower levels (I was level 17 when we switched over to iMG, prior to that your tank increased with level) but my guess is that there are still tank upgrade cards in your deck, you've just had a run of bad luck.

  • Yeah...I keep getting things I don't really want.  I've been trying to buy them so I don't see them again, but I don't know if this is really a great idea.  haha

Before my daily reshuffle, I had
    Snap filter
    Snap filter
50% knife and board durability increase

    After daily reshuffle, I got
    Unlearning Ability
    Snap filter
    Increase Brain Capacity 1

    >Bought Snap filter
    >Bought Increase Brain Capacity 1

    Now I choose from
    Unlearning
    Friend of Metal
    Intellectual Learning Speed 1

And neither Friend of Metal nor Intellectual learning speed seem particularly useful for me at this point in time.

Out of curiosity, how did the tank scale with level?  :D

  • The upgrade cards should be related to things you're interested in...when you learn new skills you get access to more cards. Also, i assume they are related to things you do as in early badges.

And yeah other than jsut being good about shuffling every game day no other "free" way to get more energy tank or brain cards. Buying the keepables is good though b/c they're a cheap way to make room.

If you have the iMG to buy the unwanted upgrades you might as well. They'll hang around your deck permanently till you finally break and buy them.

ETA: Yeah the camera ones are annoying. And before a level 60 had 2860(or close to that) as max energy tank.

So about 45 more energy when you leveled up. I don't remember if it was doled out on a sliding scale or not.

ETA 2: Intellectual learning speed is for teleporting which is a long skill to learn so maybe reconsider on that one.

  • The learning speed cards are very useful - maybe not right now when the low-level skills don't take very long to learn, but when you're hitting 20-30 days to learn something new, you'll want them.

And you'll want the brain cap cards if you're the type to learn everything (I am).

  • I don't doubt that the learning speed are useful if what I hear on the forums is any indication, but I'm so far away from making or learning any of those things that it's just not desirable now.  Especially since energy is so critical.  I'm level 10 now, and have 220 energy.  If levels gave 45 energy per level then I would have somewhere around 500 (?) energy under the old system.  Still, I realize that was the old system...but somehow, I feel very behind.  :(

I have been buying things thinking that it's good to get them out of the way, and that someday (someday!) they'll be useful, but it's not ideal when I probably should be finding a way to keep myself from constantly having to manage energy in small increments.  haha

I'm always going for the "core" attribute cards- like energy, quoin multipliers, brain capacity.  But they seem scarce, maybe if I buy up the other ones then they'll show up more often?  I think I need to stop getting other skills and/or items though, because those just seem to open up a whole load of things I don't need.

But thanks so much for replying, it's helpful to know!  :D

As you learn new skills, the upgrade cards for those skills will in fact be added to your deck, so in that case, you're right.

(If you see me online (mostly evenings, Eastern time) I might have a reshuffle or two hanging around you could have. I'm pretty much down to tank upgrades and Quion multipliers, and I don't need to reshuffle all that often.)

  • Haha, thank you.  Oh, does the energy upgrade work infinitely?  I know it was mentioned that the Quoin multiplier had a cap, albeit what is (I think) a high one.  (And does brain capacity have a cap?)

    Thanks so much!

  • As far as I can tell, you get higher energy tank and Quoin cards if you're a higher level.
I'm level 20 or so, and sitting on a +100 Energy card for 12,000i.

  • That's awesome, I hope I can get larger increments!  Though 12000i is a lot- but that seems to be the trend of huge scaling with level.  :)

  • The quoin multiplier is capped at 100, but energy appears to be infinite (although expensive). I'm close to 11,000 at the moment, with each additional 100 upgrade to my energy tank costing 100,000 iMG. It takes a while, but you'll get there too!

  • Brain cap caps at 60, Quoin multiplier caps at 100, and as far as anyone can tell, there's no tank limit.

(If you're an achievement hunter, do all your dying for those badges now when your tank is low, it's harder to die a lot when you have a lot of energy to burn.)

  • Haha, I suppose at some point you reach a capacity where energy simply does not matter anymore.  Especially since skills just make costs go down!

  • I suspect there is a glut of marginal utility cards that are flooding the deck, and I also suspect the deck is not bifurcated into classes, ensuring that we have something like a 30% chance of a tank card every shuffle.

I went for a week and got zero tanks cards, it was a little frustrating. I then got 1-2 every shuffle for 5 or 6 shuffles in a row....

    Jus' keep shufflin', shufflin' ...

  • what - unlearning is an upgrade card now?
Posted 4 months ago by Arietty Subscriber! | Permalink
  • Yes the old unlearning I / II / III skills are now upgrade cards.
Posted 4 months ago by Sturminator IX Subscriber! | Permalink
  • Wow, that does sound frustrating Sturminator, it's always the things you want at the times you don't need, and vice versa!  haha  :)
I managed to acquire a handful more of the energy cards, bringing me to level 15 and 380 energy.  Really kind people gave me help and advice, for which I'm very grateful, and in the end I'm happy with the progress made today.

Now I just need to be smarter about my shrine donations, seeing as I keep accidentally "wasting" them.  :P

  • Try to maximize your iMG -- shrine donations (short of getting an emblem unless you are going for the 11 emblems or an icon), go to the Ancestral Lands, go to new streets (you get a Qurazy Quoin for each new street you visit).  Use the iMG to buy every brain upgrade and Quoin maximizer you can.  They look expensive now but they get much, much more expensive later! When donating to shrines try to use Extremely Hallowed Shrine Powder ( x3 for donated item) or Fairly Hallowed (x2).  If you don't have the skills you can buy it.  If you have stuff to sell , sell to the Tool Vendors on level 4 east in Ilmenskie or Cerbarkul.  They give the best prices.  Good Luck and have fun!

  • So if the unlearning skills that we had to use time to upgrade in the skills menu are now upgrade cards, are those skills that we learnt now deducted off of our overall brain capacity?

Basically am interested in whether those of us who learnt it as a skill are being disadvantaged in terms of brain capacity or whether this has been factored in with the change?
Posted 4 months ago by Arietty Subscriber! | Permalink
  • Arietty - no, you are not being charged for the now-defunct skills.

(I had BL5 and unlearning 3 on an alt, and like 3 other skills, so it was easy to check!)
