bigger firebog houses

I was talking with another swamps-lovers and we realize we deserve bigger firebog houses, with barnacle AND jellisac, firefly AND peatbog, more herb garden plots, a goldfish, bigger storage cabinet and message boards with shelf on lobby.

What do you glitches think about it? Feel free to make suggestions...

thanks =)

  • A goldfish? Oh I think you crossed the line.

What's up neighbor, you planning to move away?

  • Oh I stalked you... you already moved away!
Aww. Well good luck in the bogs. Remember if you get stuck, stay calm. The more you panic the faster you die.

  • I never wants to move away from swamps. But my 10k house has no goldfish as 7k ones. They´re so beautiful, don´t you think?

don´t worry, we´ll always be neighbours on heart haha

  • I purchased a new home this time that is in the swamps and much bigger than my last. I love it. I even have fireflies this time. Lots of sparkly fireflies. It's not the size of Alakol houses, but it's fine for me. I even have tables I can put stuff on so it's not on the floor.

  • I love my Froughtful Villa place SO much, but my animals are VERY crowded. I don't care that much about a bog or jellies, but I DO want an animal pen so the chickens don't keep climbing the ladder and trashing my living room! :P Also, I miss my 16-patch garden from Estevan Meadows. Would love a bigger garden to grow my herbs. I haz the monies, let me give them to you!

  • I would move from the meadow is a firebog house with more storage and an animal pen - and pay a premium for it!

  • Yes, the firebog houses are nice, but it is a shame the largest house doesn't have those cool fish.  A bigger cabinet than just the 18 slots would be nicer also.  But these houses are surprisingly charming...much nicer than I expected (I also say the same thing about the rock houses now).  My friend who had the rock house, moved from there to a meadows style house, and then moved to a firebog house once they got the herb gardens.  It really is a lovely home.  I would be sweet if there was a very large style one with a few more amenitities...like barnacles, and jellies, and fireflies, and herbs, and Eggplants, and gold fish and still two tables to put things on...so much more homey than having stuff all over the floor...

  • yes i got to hang out a little bit in acreditando's firebog house last night (thanks for the hospitality!) and while it is a great set-up it is indeed a bit cramped and hopefully it is only a matter of time before there are pricier houses in the area offering more space and additional amenities.

and +1 to tables that let you put things on them, hopefully spreading world-wide.

  • Actually, I like spread animals inside the house, really don´t think they trash my living room, if I could put some butterflies it would be nice, but it´s not possible.

Anyway, imagine 30k and 50k firebog houses. and no croppery quests about vegetables haha but I can handle that :) I really see the swamps parallel to another kingdoms, it seems a whole different game, much different than mining all the time.

Althought I enjoy mining either, the thing is that we can do many different things on swamps, but the firebog it´s not big enough to make all things we wish, and the lack of a goldfish just make us feel worse, (just a joke haha) :D

  • Out of curiosity, might I ask what led you to realize you deserve such a pimped-out pad? Because whatever it was, I would love to get in on some of that sweet, sweet entitlement action! ;)

  • There are three "types" of housing available.  One "type" has crop plots and patches that can grow most trees.  Another "type" has herb plots and dark patches that can grow egg trees.  The third "type" has both (cave houses).

There are 30k and 50k houses available for those that like the crop plots and light patches, why can there not be similar overextravagant swamp houses that are 30k and 50k as well?  I think that as different types of houses arise, there should be a range of that type of housing.  They should each have starter homes for those who want to experiment with the housing or for the poorer Glitches and then range all the way up to mansions.

If they have mansions available with massive amounts of plots and patches for the houses in alakol and kajuu, why not have the same options available in the swamps?  It's not a sense of entitlement, its just equality.

p.s.  The fish should absolutely be added to the more expensive houses!

  • The larger firebog houses could have views of the moonrise that are glorious! And views of fireflies glinting in the dark of night, and maybe even the northern lights at the right time of year.

  • I like the idea that not every house type has the same stuff. It makes the decision one that requires a bit of thought.

Perhaps there will be an option to 'buy' bigger and better stuff. For me I live in the meadows and have a modest 'starter' home. I hope to some day live the posh life in mansions.

  • agreed, Stormy Weather, although to be fair, what I wouldn't do for some potted herb plants....  Laurali, I don't think that mansions and equality have much to do with each other, and hey, I wouldn't have busted out with the E-word if there hadn't been all the talk of deserving stuff  ;)

on the plus side, the planned feature to customize houses should hopefully go a long way towards making everybody happy!  :)

  • I like my firebog house, but I'd like to add bits - more herb plots, an extra room, a goldfish bowl, a dark patch, ...and a window box or planter inside that I can put a bubble tree or a couple of cabbages in! Can I rent a private garden in the meadows? - an allotment!

I'd pay - even although I'm one of those who doesn't amass currents and hovers continually around the 35-40k mark

  • I feel like where Glitch went wrong in this was that the Alakol homes never had cheap versions. People don't buy them because they want to plant trees & crops, well, I would guess. Mostly, the appeal of the Alakol home is the aesthetic of it. Its a beautiful, massive home. Would I rather it be able to grow mortar barnacles & have me catch fireflies in it? Of course, but those homes dont look nearly as nice.

I guess my point would be, building bigger homes in certain areas would mean it would only be fair to put cheaper homes in Alakol. I think Tinyspeck just overlooked realty when it came to features & didnt realize how big of a deal it would be. Will be interesting to see how it will be combated.

P.S. the firebog homes I've been in (3 stories) all seem pretty large.... They aren't expensive, but then again... if I look back through what I've said in this post, that could all be due to aesthetics also. A large firebog home isnt going to be as expensive as an Alakol home because they arent as nice looking. Sort of like real property values?

    Just my two cents

  • I have one of the large homes in Alakol. For the money I don't think the amenities are all that great. Don't get me wrong, I really like my house with the fancy elevators and all the room with a view of the water. And having the pen to keep the animals from roaming is a great feature but those are simply conveniences. The bog homes come with personal access to otherwise hard to get items. Fireflies are a pain to catch. Barnacles, peat and jellisacs can only be found in the bogs. They also have dark patches and now herb gardens with plants that require a long time to grow, which makes growing them in the community gardens nearly impossible. Not one of the products from my Alakol home are difficult to acquire or rare enough to command a high price on auction. But I had to pay $50,000.00 C for it. I get the desire to have it all, but I thought I'd offer a different perspective: I wish that the Alakol homes had an exclusive item like fireflies or herb gardens to offset the cost of the property. :)

  • I'm worried about the economic impact of gentrification on the firebogs. Sure, everyone wants large homes there now, but how will you feel when it's all organic jellisacs and gluten-free peat at hyper-inflated prices?

  • The only problem I have with this is that I want the decision of which part of the world I live in to be based on the features of that part of the world, ex: caves having a dark and light patch, meadows having the most plots, etc.  I would prefer not to make my decision based on which area has the best house, but rather which style of gameplay I prefer.

EDIT: I am not as much concerned with the size of the house (I believe the houses in the swamps are already pretty large) but I am more concerned with the number of garden plots as well as aesthetics (ex: a lovely view of the moon sounds beautiful) just so no matter where you choose to live you can bathe yourself in extravagance!

  • @Riverwalker: I actually agree with you, but the thing in particular that I think makes the Alakol homes soooooooo much better than the other houses in the number of plots to plant crops as well as the oversized cabinet space.  To me, those features are worth 30 or 50k.  Plus you have to admit, the views are worth some of the $$, I would really love to see some gorgeous swamp or starry night views as well!

  • @Pinot Myrmidon I laughed out loud -- literally when I read what you wrote. I completely get that there is a difference between the housing and agree that we don't want everything to be the same.

With the ability to do some interior customization comes some ability to be diverse within one's own space. I would love for that to be added to the game, allowing us to decorate the space. If  a house has 4 places for wall hangings and 4 for furniture, letting me choose what I want on the walls, what I want the colors to be, what I want the furniture to look like of the choice I can buy gives me the ability to make my space unique.

I love the Alakol houses, but I would rather a tiny forest treehouse as a "weekend" getaway than give up my lovely firebog home.  I still want the moon views though.  :)

  • I love the stairs. Seriously. It gets me everytime. I wanna have 3 houses! I want to keep my Akakol big house, my small TC Heights semi-subterranean place, AND the ol' Firebog swamp apartment-with the aweshome stairs.
