Distinguish Un-upgraded Glocked Items from All Other Items

It happened to me a  couple days ago.   I was upgrading an item for a friend, and I had no way of telling which of the unupgraded items in my inventory was his and which was my soulbound stuff.  I accidentally upgraded the Glocked item.  No biggy, it was a free-to-subscribers upgrade.

This evening, one of the donors for the Interior Design contest had the same thing happen, but in this case it was a 25 credit item.

It would be really really helpful if Glocked items could be distinguished in some manner.  Some of us have no desire to place certain of those inventory items in our homes, but do craft them and give them as gifts.  It's far too easy to spend credits accidentally.

  • A way around this would be to use the glocked items and put them out of your inventory before making things as gifts or sell-able items. I had this happen with wall segments. I had to use the soul-bound one before I was able to release the ones I had already crafted.

  • Yes, you can "clear out your inventory" by placing items that you don't want in your home somewhere in your home.

That's exactly the work-around I'm trying to avoid.

  • I placed all my glocked items right off, so anything in my furniture tab are unlocked. But a way to know for sure would be lovely. Or maybe they unlock after we make new furniture because then it would not matter if they give/sell those, we are obviously able to make more at this point,

  • Ha, I am the donor who stupidly upgraded a locked item rather than one I could trade. It was the first time I'd ever upgraded anything for credits and until I tried to give the item to the contest winner, I had no idea I'd upgraded the soulbound one. D'oh.

A warning when I went to upgrade it would've been great. Alternatively, the option to undo an upgrade, perhaps within a certain amount of time, or at a small loss of refunded credits (like recycled wardrobe items), would've made a difference. Even the ability to transfer the soulboundedness of the item to another (identical) base item would've been awesome, because then at least I'd have the option of selling or giving away the erroneously-upgraded one.

As it is, I have a credit-upgraded item that I will never want to put in my house and can never get out of my inventory. I plan to just de-upgrade it back to the default, but what a waste of credits, ha! I mean, it's just a few credits, not a big deal, but, yeah, a simple warning of some kind would've been cool.

  • As ownership and security of items becomes more and more complex, there is a greater and greater need for things such as soul-bound to be indicated in game, either visually, or somewhere in a menu item for properties.
