Projects in Ur? Asked to restore a Patch in Folivoria!

So I was ambling along in Lolime Kakaneeli in Folivoria and came along an empty patch.  When I tended and dug, it became a project!  It now wants to be restored.  Did I miss the update that resources in Ur will need to be renewed like on our home streets, or is this new?

  • I wonder if it is just tree patches that need to be restored, or if rocks will also need restoration?  Has anyone ran across a rock restoration project out in the "wild"?

  • I've never seen a patch as a restoration project in Ur proper.

  • Little Miss Giggles, I hadn't either!  That's why I think this may be new?

  • Yes, this is definately new. Not quite the same as the street projects I remember, but it's somthing!

  • I was in the street once, and I saw Jade make a patch into a project... That was about two months ago.

  • seeing glitches in the wild became a lot less common when we got our own unlimited resources at home..... I am betting unless projects in the wild take place of street projects, helping us get those trophies, you are going to find even less people in the wild helping out.

  • I doubt it. There was a conversation with stoot in Live Help yesterday in which he was debating what to do with those badges (leave them in the game, remove them completely, make them not count for leaderboards, etc...), implying that it will most likely not be possible to earn them again. He also said that old-style street projects will not be returning.

  • No more street projects would be a great disappointment to me, since the hope of their return is what has been keeping me around. Building the world with your friends (and not just a group hall) was a big selling point to me. The old style of street projects was certainly flawed, but I don't see why the concept should be scrapped entirely.

Edit: Phew, I just misinterpreted. Nonetheless, the absence of street project badges would also be a bummer for me. I am the type of player who chases after badges; once they're gone, I feel as though I've "completed" the game and don't feel the need to continue playing.

  • It's not that there won't be "street projects" of any kind. It just won't be the same style as the old ones because the old ones wouldn't scale well with lots of people. Stoot has said in the forums before that something will eventually take the place of the old-style street projects. It may not be called street projects, and it may be insanely different, but I think they want to keep the concept of working together to build the world.
