Glitch money management

You can put currants in it and any other item, both depositing items/currants and taking out items/currants require the user to enter his/her password. It is 100% safe and it should be located in groddle. They're will also be atm's, a few every region, a user has to enter his password to deposit or withdraw money. A user will also have a credit card, where on auctions, they can pay it directly or pay on the end of the glitch month. Same with buying vendors, they can put it on they're credit card so they pay at end of month. AND even in trades, direct or credit card, again pay at end of glitch month.

  • What's to stop someone from defaulting? And if they do, then what? Would the de-imaginators repossess your house? I like that we have to pay at the time of transaction. Realistically, the existing system already requires money management, methinks.

  • I have a similar idea to this here.

  • Spirit11, what problem does this solve?  How is this better than what we have now?

  • VS, It sounds like he's talking about a pre-pay credit card, so I don't think defaulting is an issue.

However, I'm with WindBorn in not seeing the point of this.  (We already have instant access to all our currants now.)

  • I wouldn't mind having a place for my currants to sit and earn interest or something, but I have to agree with the others, that what we have is pretty much equally as good or better than what you propose.

  • I don't see how this will help.

  • Okay the ATM idea is the best... don't you agree

  • Could you explain more what pain-point this solves?
    a) I already have secure access to all my funds; no one can take currants from me as it stands.
    b) My items are as safe in my house as I am scrupulous about my keyholders.
    c) The only attribute I see at this point is that you can buy things on credit, with some reconciliation between your outstanding debt, and your existing account. As VS points out, what happens in the event of a default?  It strikes me that if you NEED debt-financing, there are other ways to go about doing that. I know if I needed 10Kcurrants, I could probably find a friend or two to lend me that cash. AND, I can do that without having to ask Dev to fire up a feature.

But without understanding more about this idea, it's difficult for me to comment further.

  • Sounds complicated and annoying... In this system, people could just never pay for what they buy. That would be terrible and cause an explosion in griefer capability, in my opinion. For this idea, I see only negatives, nothing that actually helps us.

  • There is no reason at all for a bank. It isn't like WoW where you can give currency away. It isn't like we can't store items in our house {and unless you give you key willy nilly it isn't like your items aren't safe in your house}. And, allowing people to purchase things on credit is a bad idea too. Sort of like saying you want to buy something from another glitch and asking them to hold it on layaway. In games like this, where it is pretty easy to make currency if you need to, other than items like dolls or RARES there is no reason for credit or layway.

I feel like ATMs aren't needed/banks aren't needed. Also, I think that paying for things up-front is best- what's to stop a Glitch from racking up millions and not paying?
