Confusing behavior of food items when nearly full

Normally, the pop-up menu for food items tells you how much energy you can potentially get from eating one of them. However, if you are nearly full, such that eating one would put you over your limit, the number will be reduced to the amount that would make you full.  For instance, a Tasty Pasta normally gives 134 energy, but if you're only down 10 energy, it will say Eating gives 10 energy.  This surprised me so much the first time I saw it that I thought it meant tasty pastas had been nerfed (right after I made a whole bunch, too :-/)

It would be better if the pop-up menu always stated the properties of the item in the abstract (that is, if it always said the amount of energy you *could* get, rather than the amount you *will* get if you eat one right now).   The secondary menu to choose how many items from a stack you will eat, however, could show how much energy you *will* get; it's more intuitive there.  (Presently it doesn't.)

Independently of all that, please add all the information from the pop-up menu to the Info screen for these items.  Right now there's no way to tell how good a food item is without making it first.

  • if you want to know good an item is before making it, try the Wiki.

  • I shouldn't have to do that. There's no point in having to spade it, when the information is trivially available once you have the item.
