Yes, definitely. That is the highest priority feature post-launch. Houses will be just as customizable as avatars in decoration, but you'll also be able to expand and upgrade them as well.
Awesome! :D
I'd love to be able to actually build upgrades to houses, a good use for blocks maybe?
Would be great if houses could have the potential to be completely unique to the owner, and not just the decoration of them.
I wonder if we can upgrade a small tree house to something as huge as an Alakol Home stll keeping the tree house style ^^ we'd need a very substantial tree if it will be possible, tho I'm hoping eventually to get a home in the deeps ^.=.^
This is awesome n_n
I really hope that we can interact with the decoration object... things.
(Like for example you can sit down on a chair and rest or sleep in a bed and it will allow you to maximize your energy and happiness but you can't move for whatever time period or something like that, etc)
+1 @ cocomoes
I agree...and I can't wait to be able to decorate. Interacting with the objects in the house is something I wished I could have been doing all along. Along with being able to decorate. I have read something about being able to set your bags down on tables and such only in certain houses. I have always wished we could do that in all the houses. Being able to turn lamps on and off would be fun too. And what about actually painting our own walls? Is that something that could happen? You know...like if we were in a graffiti mood.....
Being able to sit down would mean changing the avatars again, adding new commands, etc. and I'm not sure that it should really be a priority. If they do get around to it, though, it'd be great if energy loss were slowed or stopped while avatars were sitting or lying down.
Also, I hope that non-subscribers will get home expansion options as well.
Thank you stoot. Have I told you lately how much I love you and the communication that gets put out here? No?
Well, I love you and the communication that gets put out here. I think upgrading and expanding the house is just what I need (because I think I love my house in Marrakesh Meadow). Good to know that it's roadmap for post-launch. I can wait patiently now that I know it's coming someday.
I'd like my Alakol style house to allow me to:
Paint inside walls, outside walls, and floors with color and pattern. Big bold flowers or swirlies or evil cupcake with crossbones please!
Choose new artwork on wall
Add trees
Expand with more levels.
Add garden plots.
Add herbs.
And truthfully I am scared of gnomes (along with clowns, mall Santas, and circus people)...can we have another option besides gnomes please? Something that looks cute but is really very vicious, expands its fearsome toothy grin and threatens to bite when people knock on my door?
lol...um please god, no gnomes outside my door. Seriously. lol. I had a cute little chick out there waving at people, but thieves kept taking him. I wish he could have opened a huge mouth full of needle sharp teeth and bit their Glitchen heads off!! Everyone is welcome to leave chicks though. I will pet em and love em and name em all George. :)
Oh..and I'd like to amend my list to add: Puddles.
You were clear. There is no indication that this is the last test. In fact, having just brought a major new staff member on board, I would expect that the launch is not even "soon".
But, like everything, it's all just guessing on our part. Unless a staff member makes a comment, it's all simply us imagining a world in which our guesses come true.
Expand and upgrade houses? Oh boy, I'm so up for that. I have no interest in decoration (hey, I'm a guy... what do you expect) but the opportunity to add bigger house features to a smaller, well-positioned house... I'd love that. eg adding an animal pen and more tree spots to my treehouse. Would be awesome to be able to add a cave so I could have fireflies, egg tree etc - but that seems kinda nuts.
I guess the houses would have to reset back to the default when you moved out. If you didn't, over time all the housing stock would become mega-houses & we'd have no small entry houses left.
Snazzlefrazz: Don't you want the option to leave empty pizza boxes and build cement block and particle board bookcases then? :D (trying to remember what constitutes guy decor you see)
LOL RM... I went through that phase 20 years ago. I'm slightly more domesticated now (ie I keep the chaos within the confines of my home office).
I think I'm just saying that, for me, the things I do within Glitch have a certain practicality to them... a house is somewhere to store things and farm. I guess if I was more social and inviting people to come visit me then I'd be more concerned about how things looked. I guess we'll see how the game develops and if it changes the way I play it.
