How do YOU make money?

I am sure we all have noticed that some glitchlings have more money then others. I think we should help the community, and share how we all get money. I'll start:
During Zilloween, everyone wants to plant pumpkins really fast right? so the best thing to sell then, is guano. cheep to get, expensive to sell!!!

Please comment with your ideas for getting rich!

  • I like to just grind, grind, grind :P And visits to the northern lands never go poorly.

Lately crafting has been pretty unbeatable, with all the upgrades it's gotten. I like to make seasoned beans for the img bonus :)

I've earned a few million currants doing that :)

  • Watch the auction market and see what is selling for significantly more than the 'value'...and focus on selling those items in the auction market (I like beans and fruit in bulk, though with the SDBs, I've been collecting them lately).

For other things sell to the tool vendors since they still give the most.  I tend to sell music blocks and gems the most to the tool vendor (though lately I started collecting gems instead).

Many will set up multiple milk and meat collectors once they have RHK and harvest them daily, and then sell the excess.

  • Since I've been back, (about two weeks now) the only money I made was from dumping a large cache of music blocks from the packing box into a couple of vendors, mainly just to clear space while I got my sdbs together. All in all it was only ~35K. Haven't really paid much attention to currants, although I'm sure that will change as my meager fortune dwindles

    just beans.

  • hmm, pig meat, butterfly milk, yellow essences, musicblocks.  I tried the auctions but unless you're capable of getting a stack of basic resources to sell to make good money you're better off going the herb/tincture route.

(I always sell all tinctures to the tool vendor at Cebarkul!) - they alone get me a good 100+k per day.

  • I auctioned Allspice, Beans and Cherries and autosold Butterfly Milk.  To tell the truth, now I'm more worried about how to convert my Currants into Imagination.

    Lol at elf.

  • @Akhen: currants -> sno cones -> donate to shrines with EHSP -> iMG!

I used to do lots of mining and selling EHSP, but got bored of grinding that particular way.

Seasonal stuff, as OP stated: holiday eggs, Pi, hoarding Glitchmas goodies into the summer, etc.

The unpredictable: earned 1 million currants in 2 days by constructing & selling wall segments upon their release. Just earlier this week, new upgrade cards became available and the price of reshuffle cards almost quadrupled overnight, they're almost back to normal. Only had a handful to sell, drat.

  • @bumble that's a pretty cool auction helper for stats but would be better if it distinguished between those sold/expired.  Might add it might self  - thanks for the link!

I did the snocone route for a few giants and then realised how much I was spending bloody quickly to do it.  Most of my giants are over 5k now :?   So now I just donated tinctures (when I'm in the mood to donate rather than sell) and food I've cooked using only supplies I've gathered - awesome stews are blinding for that!

  • I just sell all the Music Blocks and gems I found harvesting and mining with autosell http://gas.tsak.net/rules

I aim for a low price on each sell and I know some ppl will say that I´m losing currants in the transaction instead of selling to vendors, but autosell does it so quick and easy that I never have to think about it.

If you do a good (game) day of grinding you end wiht 40/50k currants without ever thinking about it.

  • Working. Seriously though, I mine and grow herbs...

  • I go where the market is, trying to predict when people will pay for the most for things, grinding, crafting, and selling as much as possible, then sitting back on my haunches, living off my savings. For example, I made about 500k on walls when that upgrade first came out, back when wall segments priced at 50k were actually selling, and I've been making quite a bit on fuel cells since they're not being sold at hardware suppliers anymore. If I need money in the meantimes (I do have expensive tastes) I do a fair of mining, moly-crafting and chicken-squeezing (for the musicboxes).

  • I have 60 herb plots and 30 crop plots. The herbs I make tinctures from and sell those. I grow potatoes, make one batch of hooch for tinctures, feed the pig for seeds and sell the rest. And all the junk the plots spew at me while I'm gardening, like music boxes and random food, I sell as well. I earn about 6,000 per day.

  • I actually found someone with less than me!!!!  I have 657c!
Posted 6 months ago by Maxy Cat Subscriber! | Permalink
  • I go the herb route. I save all the musicblocks and sell them (i get about 20 per session, i have 120 plots). I mine for sparkly and sell the gems and make EHSP that I oscasionaly auction.  My icons steal all my money right now though since I'm trying to get enough iMG to make my whole street herb gardens.

But of course I spend all my currants on cubimals. Still seeking the elusive two missing.

  • When I notice I am getting low, I sell stuff to the tool vendor instead of donating it. This is how I make money. All I use it for is tithes and random commodity goods for crafting so it gets me more than enough.

  • Ah, buying snocones for iMG...now there's a thought...

I don't do the donation or tithing route (it's just not my style of game play), so finding alternate ways to convert currants to iMG is of interest to me also.  Though I know there is a cap to the number of snocones I can eat for iMG per day (due to brain freeze), it's an option, I'd not even considered before.  Thanks for the tip bumblepuppy, though it's a bit different than the tip you provided.

  • Currants? What are those? Think I saw some from a distance once... Never had any myself though...

...Heheh. I don't grind currants or anything else. I have 9k now. If I want more to buy something I'll usually mine sparkly. Sometimes I cook, too.

  • Awesome stew sold to tool vendor:

10K beans (twice on the bean route), 1500 potatoes, 1K meat/parsnips/cabbage/onions, 500 saffron = 500 stew = 75K currants. Grow the potatoes or cabbage overnight. Grind the saffron to burn energy at end of day.

  • This might not sound very fancy, but having a lot of money in glitch is just like having a lot of money in real life: don't spend more than you make.  If you never worry about making money but you follow that advice then you'll end up with money.

  • i hoard all the resources i get, for when i need them. I do a lot of gardening and such so my music blocks build up and i'll wait till i have a good pile and sell them all at once. I would also go into Ajaya Bliss and fill all my bags up with sparkly and sell it to the vendor on Level 4 East i believe.

  • As I said in another thread:

"SOOO MANY damn people sell EVERYTHING on the auction for under tool vendor prices.

    <.<
    >.>"

A bit aggravating when you are trying to make things for profit.  Seems that raw materials sell for more than actually making any products.

Making money in a game is one of my hobbies on the side, but it's a bit gimped in this game since people don't seem to care too much about making a profit.  And I know that some people probably do it to be nice and help out other Glitchen, but it really does gimp that area of the game for some people.

I'd say if you want to give stuff away like that, then give it away by mail or in person! :P

  • Previously a simple way to make money was with Animal Kinship, and if you have the Super Harvest upgrades it probably still is. When I had my bog house in Shimla I'd set my destination for Cebarkul and then Pet and Nibble every Piggy I saw en route, then sell the resulting bounty of Meat to the Tool vendor. At the time I earned great XP for petting and great income for Nibbling. Now you get IMG instead of XP but still an easy way to make Currants...

  • I don't do currants, I do stuff. Whatever tickles my fancy on the day, but basically never in order to actually earn anything.
Occasionally I glance at my total and if it's over 50k, I think ''oh, I can buy a few cubimals'', or such, but otherwise I don't find I need money for anything.

  • so how do you make money from grinding as you cant sell the elements?
Posted 6 months ago by Ultra-Dynamic Subscriber! | Permalink
  • I think people use grind in this context to mean "do lots of repetitive tasks over and over" rather than the glitch-specific grinding. So it could mean mining for 4 hours and selling all you gather

  • I wish we still bought everything with currants instead of some things with IMG. I used to go by levels pretty well, but I've been stuck in the teen's ever since we switched to IMG.
