Guilds?

What about guilds of some sort. We have groups and parties but guilds are different. A guild might have it's own building, may charge a fee, may offer benefits, may have a group inventory and treasury, may have a lot of different things. It encourages a social aspect that some feel may still be a little lacking in this game.

  • There could be a distinction between clans and guilds? Maybe the guilds could have more of a specific purpose, and the clans could just be groups that can meet in game, have a clan hall, and a separate chat window. Just a thought.

  • Clans and guilds would be a good idea. Get a bonus if you are with a certain guild. Only one guild at a time and it should cost you to get in. No quests to get membership, that would be fairly annoying. Possibly a requirement like having a certain emblem (maybe that could be the quest, if necessary).

    Clans would just give access to a clan hall. The clan leader would have to lease the hall and there should be things available like limited amounts of secure storage that can be assigned to members and also a public storage. Possibly a few gardens or a single large garden. A fee per new member or some sort of "license" for the maximum size of the clan. Clan halls should be on a lease, paid yearly, considering how fast the year would go by.

    Clans would be a pretty advanced feature but guilds should be fairly simple to implement.

  • Jhonny, are you making a distinction between clans and guilds? Why would one be simple and another advanced? They seem the same to me. What you described for clan is pretty much sounds like a guild to me? They should be a social group with some shared resources, a place to go and a membership fee and benefits. Clan/Guild all sounds good to me.

  • Guilds are a system the game can use to give another fun thing to play with. Clans are a system the players can use if they want to make a group for themselves.

    The guilds could have a guild hall with their vendor in it but other than that, nothing special. Maybe in the backyard they would have a source of the items they are a guild for, but even that wouldn't be necessary. Mostly just a way to make your character different from others due to bonuses from the different guilds.

  • Webella, we have been told that there will be "group halls" in the game at some point soon, which would cover most of the bases in the OP - shared inventory, own building, and potentially more.

  • I'd like an acting guild/clan. With all of the things you can do in Glitch, it'd be wonderful to see some 'plays' posted on youtube. :o
