Mini-Me's

requirements: advanced learning in alchemy, mining and meditation.

made of: golem mud or mandrake root or some Glitchy equivalent, which you can either discover or probably buy for outrageous prices from someone in the game. You can also find them them in Hell for reasons explained below.

they can sit on your shoulder, or ride around in a mini-me custom backpack.
the mud/root is animated by positive or negative aspects of personality, meaning they are either GOOD or EVILLLLL little buggers, and it's a coin toss which kind you get.
If they are good, every time you log back onto the game, you will have received notes about the good they have done while you were away, along with + points in mood and energy for you. If they are evil, you get the opposite kind of note, with a decrement in your mood and energy.
you can potentially change an evil one to good by doing good works yourself to offset things, but it's not guaranteed--or it takes a really long time, or requires some questing.

the evil deeds could be real, that is your friends/buddies might find that they have lost currants/energy/mood to your evil mini-me, or it has a negative impact on a tree or on the pigs in an area..that would make deciding what to do about an evil m-m more crucial. You might have to donate your m-m to a shrine to get rid of it. Of course, the good deeds could be real too, and that would make your buddies love your m-m as much as you do.

OR go for broke with the evil: take your evil m-m (only evil ones need apply) down to Hell and leave it there to stomp grapes for you. The short term gain slows your energy losses but drastically speeds up your mood loss, Down in Hell, your m-m gradually returns to its original state of golem-mud/mandrake rootness, where someone else might find it eventually to make their own m-m.

  • everything but the evil mm stealing your mood. evil mini mees should steel other peoples stuff and give it to you. like currants. good ones should work and make you money or donate to shrines for you.

  • in a game without combat, how would you deal with thievery?

it could really upset someone if your evil twin stole something they spent hours creating.

  • I don't think they should be able to steal any object, nor do I think you should be able to direct your mm to steal something..the idea is that your mm has a mini-will of it's own but it's up to you to make decisions about the fate of it. It's the potential quandary for the player that interests me.

  • so it could steal things from other people up to a value of, say, 10 or 20 currants or something?

    i think that could work.

  • yes, something that is more of a nuisance than a menace. Say my mm keeps micro-stealing currants from my friends, and to keep the peace with them, I keep paying them back in a variety of ways. I don't get the currants that my mm stole, so it becomes a drain on my resources too. What to do?

Maybe sometimes my mm does good stuff that benefits my circle and me. Maybe I decide to hold out and see if my mm will become good. But at some point, I have to decide what to do about my mm, unless it's good ALL the time which would be more boring, but still nice to have.

I like that interaction better than having to remember to feed it or pay attention to it, especially since there are so many other opportunities in the game for that. And I like the idea that making a decision to get rid of or kill off a troublesome mm might have a variety of repercussions on you or the world, so you shouldn't easily be able to decide to just rid yourself of it.
