If there is a meat collector and a butterfly milker for collecting things, why is there no grain collector? There should be a tool that squeezes chickens without you doing it. Like the chicken squeezer. Similar to the meat collector.
+1 to that. I fully agree, grain collector makes sense.
Also, since there is a piggy feeder to help keep them alive. Why is there no butterfly singing machine. Maybe it could require crystals or music-blocks to work, so that those have an in game use as opposed to just being giant feed.
I'm fairly sure it's been proposed before, but I'm still all for the idea! I always need more grain :) And even if I didn't it's one of only a few items in game that can be sold for 100% of its value ;)
+1 to having a grain collector (preferably craftable as well as purchasable). The trade-off seems fair too: less squeezing = greater convenience = fewer opportunities to receive random rewards (musicblocks, etc).
I don't know about automating every aspect of gameplay. I am somewhat charmed by chickens and gardens as they are. I think automation would just make the market saturated so those who wish to specialize in grain or produce would be out of business because even those who didn't care to take the time/effort to gather or produce could do it while they were logged off. As we move toward a vendor-less economy it would make sense for players to look to the open market rather than automation if they were short on grain. I love squeezing those guys.
My voice shall be heard: I agree with Miel, I mean, squeezing a chicken provides 10 grain. That is 6 more tangibles (excluding super-harvests, of course) than the 4 meat from nibbling piggies and 4 milk from milking butterflies. Also, there is no prep in order to squeeze a chicken. In some cases, one must pet the piggy or massage the butterfly :)
I am not even worried so much about automated grain or butterfly collecting. However, i think we need stuff to keep them alive longer.
It really makes me sad that every time I am off of glitch for a few days in a row my butterflies end up dead. In fact I have stopped keeping butterflies for just this reason.
I don't know if chickens need feeding because I have never owned them, but it seems like we should have feeders for all of them, even if we do not have collectors. Just to keep it consistent.
I do love the newly added signs that work like pens though; they are very helpful.
