If you want to be technical, Dasher. It is 1:30am, "Thursday" 8/11/2011. It is scheduled to open on "Thursday," yes. I don't consider it "Thursday" yet myself.
We'll *probably* start sometime in the mid-afternoon so it might be bedtime for Glitch Europe by the time we open.
But hey - this test will be going for a week so you should have plenty of time to check in no matter where you live on the planet.Posted 4 hr ago by sugarQb | Permalink
@gerty/georgia, I too have a probelm with dyslexia and I try to re-read everything before I hit
the post button. But I know that even after you re-read it, it can still look ok. I think some peoeple should be alittle more tolerant, these types of errors being pointed out can be embarrasing and even intimidating to some poeple, They may want very much to participat but feel
uncomfortable doing so and withdraw. I am an educated person and I am constantly
reading books, for me it is very easy to verbalize my thoughts but now always easy to write
them down with out alot of thought and effort.
I know this is off topic, but sometimes what my be easy for most can be very difficult for others, but we keep jumping in because we just want to participate and enjoy this wonderful
game and it's warn community to it's fullest.
Thanks for letting put in my 2 or 5 cents! Were all here cuz we love this game.
You're right, Saba Moon, we all need to communicate with mutual respect, and if we see certain spelling errors or ways of communication, there's no need to be hostile. I'm just wondering if some of the adult players might be worried that after the test, the level of maturity Glitch might sink a little. And then if you think you're communicating with a child pretending to be and adult ( and refusing to take responsibility), how to you address that person? I know as a high school teacher sometimes I just break down and speak sharply, or embarass kids (very seldom!), which of course, teaches them nothing. Because they copy everything you do, so when you're nasty, they're nasty. So much of my work life is keeping an awareness of my own tone. I doubt many glitchens really care if a reasonable, mature player (no matter the age) makes a few typos. I think it's annoying when players ask questions that they could look up in the Glitch Wiki. I didn't know about the wiki when I first started playing. It took me a while to understand how to get information for myself surrounding the game.
Sakmet, yes I agree with you in the fact there may be alot more younger players, but if that is the case we should all just try to be alittle more patient before making a judgement. And I also agree with the fact that there are somepeople who are creating ridiculous posts, and asking questions that the answers can be found in wiki and these people have been told that as well, they may be childern trying to fit in somewhere, but really should take some time to learn some on-line ediquette. I am not a young person by any means, I have never been good
with numbers or spelling, but I am an artist, I work in a creative indusrty and I read the hell out
of books. I keep a dictionary and a thesaurus at my computer desk and that helps alot...sometimes time consuming but nontheless very helpful. I hope our posts can be
alittle enlightening for others! ;)
I'm with you, Saba.... As a visual artist, the visual Vocabulary comes easier than spelling for me.. So when I'm teaching art, I have to double check so much. And in glitch, I lose races due to left / right issues....
I miss glitch, let's play!
