Getting "maximum harvest" from a wood tree

I'm working on the quest where you need to get maximum harvest from each type of tree. I've cleared most of the trees pretty quickly, but I'm stuck on wood tree. Being as scarce as they are, i only get a couple tries per game day. Still, after harvesting ~10 trees, I haven't gotten max.

Does the wood tree need to be fully grown (that is, biggest they get) to get max harvest? I'm worried that may be my problem, as none of the public trees are very big.

  • Yes :) All that needs to happen is a tree with four branches. No other requirement/luck needed.

  • Always use Fertilidust - especially on wood trees, since a lot of players didn't bother to pet and water *before/ after* they harvest the poor fellow...
In 2-4 sprinkles the tree will be fully grown to 4 branches ^__^ Works like a charm!!
(NOT the action "Harvest & Clear" though!!)

  • The data on that page is outdated (i've been trying to use it)

Didn't know you could use fertilidust on wood trees. Did they add that toward the end of the beta? I'll go do that.

  • If at first you don't succeed.... It took me a long time to finish this quest, too. If you didn't know, you can locate wood trees more easily if you have the street checker script installed. See http://www.glitch.com/forum/general/3040/ for links to different browser options.

  • Yes, you most definitely can use Fertilidust on wood trees. I've tried that several times. ^__^
    Besides the street checker script,
Glitch-Atlas is good place for specific region/street etc data. Handy & easy to use! Just click on the street info icon on the upper right, and check the search boxes.

  • It's much easier to just grow one to maturity in your yard.
