Whooooa what? I was running around Cebarkul just now, and literally every single one of my cooking tools spontaneously self-destructed! i.imgur.com/jVwnS.png What happen? Has anyone else had this happen?
I just told me something like "reloading in order to declare a war on your *here it mentioned a list of all kitchen things* visible... blah-blah-blah" was too fast... only kitchen-y things...
All my things broke too (except the recently-repaired Saucepan). I see new uses-remaining bars underneath the kitchen tools (those are new, right?), so maybe our things were already broken according to new criteria for brokenness?
same here, made a bug report and almost immediately got a reload with a message about the wear of kitchen tools and tincturing kits, though it was too fast to read it all...
yes, there are usage bars now, so we can get those badges much more easily!!! we can finally see how long till this unbreakable thing breaks! :D
yay to TS again!
This means I can no longer call my cooking supplies toolbox "Free to Use". The other toolbox was called "Breakable Tools" and now almost everything is breakable. I approve. At least now you can see them degrading instead of just cooking a lot and hoping to break one.
Everything broke PLUS...I now have 15 out of 16 tools in my first tool box so one of them has vanished..*poofed out of existence* but for the life of me I can't figure out what it was.. : ?
That's great except that it seems as though the upgrade cards to increase the durability of the kitchen tools does nothing. Unless all of these tools actually had 50 durability to start with. Or am I simply understanding the upgrade cards incorrectly?
Boo. you didn't have to break them all to implement a usage counter, or you could have simply reset the counter once it was introduced into the database.
@Fauxfire - it may be that the upgrade card will effect your actual wear, without effecting the typical durability. On my watering can, as well as on my fox brush, for instance, I get .5 wear indicators (like 487.5 remaining).
The real problem was that Kevbob went kind of bonkers in the kitchen of the super-secret underground Tiny Speck HQ. Bad things happen when you drum along on the pots and pans with a rolling pin. But dude... you were rocking!
I forgot that I was trying to break all my tools (like the way they look broken, what can I say) and repaired 'em all on reflex alone. So I had to go ahead and break 'em again. The new bars are mighty handy, thanks TS.
Can I file a bug report if they weren't all breaky? You know, for badge progress n all... and for kevbob, he likes it when I sends in ticket after ticket after ticket...
Good thing for me there is no overthinking bug reports!
So, for those of you wondering how the cards work, I think I MIGHT have an answer.
There I was, cooking up 80 pickles in Uncle Friendly's because I can. After it was finished, I had 80 units of wear and tear on my Awesome Pot, which, as I recalled, I didn't get an upgrade for as far as durability went. When I made 80 tortillas on my frying pan, which does have the durability upgrade, it only used 40 units of wear and tear.
So there you have it, if you have the durability cards, you'll have to work a little harder to break your tools, if not, it's less. Happy fixin!
Nice to read there are finally wear bars on kitchen tools. I break my Awesome Pot and Frying Pan a lot, but the others only seem to break once a month. I still can't believe I don't have the Assistant to the Mending Manager badge, but whatever.
