Butterflies! Different (more) colors and a longer life :)
Wouldn't it be great to have butterflies flying around with all different colors and maybe even prints?
I find it sad to see how fast they expire. I wish they had a longer life.
I love the color idea, although prints might be a bit much. I also agree that they expire way to quickly. I am always so sad to see them die, as I am one of those people who likes to name them all. Also, LolaPop, your name is adorable. :)
Oddly enough the first set of butterflies I had in my old house (and in my new house) both lasted quite a while. (the ones in the old home lasted for at least two months) The bunch I had in my new home were there for well over four weeks and only "expired" because I freed them all. Unlike the ones I populated my front yard with, that only lasted for a couple of weeks before the telltale milk jugs spoke of their demise.
edit: oh sheesh. I meant to comment on the topic at hand. I'd like to see other-colored butterflies as well.
Not just butterflies, but chickens and piggies too. Would be nice to randomly incubate a baby animal of another color. Some colors could be rarer than others, making some animals very special.
Perhaps when the rare colored animals die, they have a chance to drop a special seasoning based on their color, which you could feed to a chicken (only while its incubating an egg). This would guarantee the baby animal coming out that color again.
I've seen them use color swapping techniques before, like during the performance tests. I imagine they could add a new variable to animals that determine what color they are.
Example: your black piggy died. it left behind the usual piggy plop and meat, but also may have left a Pepper Seasoning behind, which if fed to an incubating chicken, would produce a black chicken/butterfly/piggy. Your hot pink butterfly died, it left behind a bubblegum seasoning, which would be fed to a chicken for a baby hot pink animal (i guess a more pink than usual piggy, or perhaps a different shade of pink?).
The seasoning wouldn't drop every time they died, which would keep rarer colors rare and special. And note that incubating an egg without feeding a seasoning could still at random spurt out a special color. Some color ideas could be:
* Pink (bubblegum seasoning)
* Blue (uralia seasoning)
* Black (pepper seasoning)
* White (cloud seasoning)
* Green (jellisac seasoning)
* Violet (whortleberry seasoning)
* Red (snapdragon seasoning)
* Brown (barnacle seasoning)
* Yellow (sunflower seasoning)
* Teal (seafoam seasoning)
* Orange (cantaloupe seasoning)
@Strawberry Tart you are so right and thanks for the sweet compliment :)
@Lorraine should get a staff position!!! I saw more very very good ideas comming from her hand in other threads. Thanks for thinking with me here, I really do appreciate.
Yes more colors is more fun. Hope we get what we want and hopefully devs will follow @Lorraines words like a hawk (hey hawks :))) well thats a good one lol)
Oh I forgot to mention that prints can be indeed a bit much but I was thinking polka dots etc. And about their lifespan, well my expirience is that it's not really measurable how long you can keep a butterfly. I had some a very long time and some that where gone within a copple of days,. And it doesn't matter if you sing to them or massage them or handmilk them imo,í've tried so many ways to find out what's best. At the moment I have one butterfly left and he's superbutterfly for he gives me so much milk and he's around allready way longer than the rest.
I'd love to see a rainbow of colors flying around! While the blue is very nice, I am so used to seeing all kinds of different colors flying around in nature.
I really like the idea of some colors being more rare than others. You never know what color you're going to get.
Maybe stop tying singing to a variable amount of energy loss while they're at it. It should not cost more to sing to a butterfly just because you've leveled up or purchased an energy tank.. I doubled my energy reserve and singing to seven butterflies still left me near death, same as before the enregy tank upgrades. Something smells like guano about that
@Woochi: it's 10% of your max energy (and has been). Just like teleporting (with teleport V).
Now that energy tank is no longer linked with your level, the energy cost can be very steep for the very little img you get back from singing to them now by comparison.
Either the energy cost should be made a fixed rate, or the img gained from singing should be energy-tank based, rather than level-based.
