Please keep the bug that resets animal's names that are single letters. Here's why...

Right now, there is a bug that causes creatures named with a single letter to lose their names at dawn. I know that this is a bug, but I would like to see this adopted as a feature! I use a naming scheme in my house pets to tell if I have harvested them yet or not, basically by renaming them either a or z depending on what I started with. By having their names reset at dawn, 1) I know that I have not yet harvested them, 2) I don't get confused as to which letter I need to name them, and 3) I do not have to press up to skip Rename when I want to Nibble a piggy (since Rename is alphabetically after Nibble, and Name is before it). It would be nice to reset animals as anonymous in some way, and this is a good way to do just that.

  • In case they resolve this bug and don't adopt it as a feature, you could always name your piggies A the first time you harvest them, and then B the next day, C the one after that, etc. Then you'd know which ones you had already nibbled because they have a later letter in the alphabet.

  • I just switch back and forth from A to Z (since those letters are so close, and feel like opposites). One time, I gradually switch them all to a, and the next I'll gradually switch them all to z. The system works well. The only real reason that I like that the names are resetting is that the naming command changes depending on whether the animal is named already, which alters the command order to a less desirable one.
