They did not get the eyebrows quite right. Old rock had eyebrows that were nudged upward a tad, as if he were always waiting for you to say something to him. This rock looks like he's just been told he's not getting a raise this year.
This isn't what I thought at all the Rock would do. ^^u May we Ur dwellers have some "iMG observation" per day too? Because I don't spend lots of time in my home and I only put Icons (meh, still 2/11 :/ ) for people to pray to. Looks like the future isn't Ur at this rate...
Qurazy Quoins, sloths, foxes, batterflies, shrines, quests, the subway, dev designed streets with great variety, etc.
The set up is more than fair. You get "iMG observation" for putting in the investment on your street. But you get far more Qurazy Quoins, with far more iMG per day, for exploring Ur.
Oh come on now, ol' Rocky's not the least bit scary. He strikes me more as looking comically serious, which is especially sorta kinda funny if your humble estate happens to reside upon the bright, colorful, and vaguely seussian isle of Uralia.

Edit: Except he's always... staring right at you... Uhmmm, I think I'm going to go on vacation for a while.
Edit Edit: guys help he found me oh giants helpdsagadsgdfkfjkddfffbbq
Does anyone know how the iMG for neighbors works? Do my neighbors get a boost when I arrive or do I have to do something else such as walk the whole street, pet piggies, feed Icons, etc.? I want to help people get more iMG by visiting.
Does the rock remember how much imagination was collected even if I'm not online for several days, or can I only get what was collected the day immediately before?
Its still a potato and hes fooling you all...and he watches.
Also, this is not the same one, its an evil twin. They look slightly different.
The old one was nice and fed me things, this new one is peeking in your windows waiting for you to fall asleep so it can get all stabby. Just you wait.
Brib Annie: like Fnibbit said, it is the actions you take on someone else's street which earn them iMG (so mining, harvesting, scooping, digging, planting, reflecting, whistling, tithing, etc. — stuff that has to do with their cultivated items or icons left out; crafting your own stuff on their street doesn't make a difference).
Not a Princess: it "remembers" the highest daily total since you last collected. Here's an example: let's say you are offline for three game days. On day one, 300 iMG was generated. On day two, 400 iMG was generated. So the rock forgets the 300 and replaces it with 400. Then, on day three, only 350 iMG is generated. Since that's lower than the 400 iMG it already had, it keeps the 400 iMG instead and when you go to collect, that's what you get.
Thanks Stoot! In other words they get nothing if all I do is visit. If I visit and use all their resources they may feel that the iMG they gain is not worth the energy and resources it takes to replace what I use. If I replace what I take I will spend more time in other yards than I do in my own. It would depend on how much iMG they get.
As for myself, I would have to get a lot of iMG for it to be worth it to me. I am already stuck in this house too much just replacing what I take/use.
Stoot, so there is still a strong motivation to log on often to collect your rewards! I like it.
I often resent it, but I like it.
Brib Annie, even without this particular reward, there are other rewards to putting resources in your yard that make it worth it. Every time you interact with that resource, you gain iMG. When you renew the resource, you gain iMG. People who visit your yard to use your resources tend to leave things in front of your door (often not worth a whole lot, but it makes the game way more fun). And it adds up. The longer you tend the resources, the more iMG you get, quickly paying you back for your initial investment. Also, when you collect what you need to restore a resource, you get even more iMG in the process, and you don't have to use the resource very often to make that worthwhile in terms of material goods.
I haven't done the hard numbers, but it didn't seem necessary to me, as the difference is so dramatically in favor of planting resources!
Ah so it's always only one game day, though always the highest payout, no matter how long you've been away. Fair enough. I must have had a truckload of visitors at some point last night, as my first iMG from the rock was more than double what I grabbed this afternoon, which made me think it had added up all night.
Keep an eye on him, he's sneaky. I went upstairs to do some things. When I came down I went out back to check the gardens and there was NO Rock! The Rug was there but NO Rock. Then, the Rock floated down from above, landed on the rug and began reading, then he glared at me as if to say, "What? Have you never seen me reading?" I think he was spying on me through the 2nd floor wall - ROTF!
I loveeeeeeeee my wee rock... I have to admit he does look a bit scary sometimes.. a bit headmaster-ish..I guess he is judging our performance..humphh..Guess I'm always gonna be in trouble then tut..Still if he sticks to reading his book and looking cute..then I should be ok.. :-/ ..lol!!!
Oh yeah..and handing out daily iMG..other than just "the look" that be a bonus too..lol
If you're worried about putting out resources due to restore costs, put out trees ;) I got 3300 img one day from the 15 trees I have out on my fully expanded street. Now, given, I'm on the gas route, so most visitors perform at minimum 30 actions (two harvests on each tree), but I'm sure you'd still get a decent reward under other circumstances.
And the main point is that trees never need to be replaced, so long as they are well cared for and you don't decide to change out the type :)
@Grendaline: There is a finite number of actions that can be performed on a tree before it dies and has to be replaced. I think the number is rather high, though.
I LOVE him. I was so pleased he was back that I actually squealed IRL!! I love his stern little face as if to say, 'Hmmm Foofala... and WHAT are you up to now?' I think he'll keep me on my toes (no dead piggies on his watch)!!
I missed the rock and I'm glad he's back. His little rug looks exactly like a dolly rug my grandmother crocheted for me when I was three! I think though that when he's not reading his glasses should push to the top of his head. Much less intimidating--far more cuter. But maybe I should rethink this. Do we want/need a stern watch rock in the front yard to encourage neighborly behavior?
If your tree is not dying and it looks like it should have .. (look at lifespan in cultivate mode)... please report it as a bug.. I know dev's are looking into some of these cases, but could probably use a couple more reports if it is wide spread.
@Sue Chef: you'll get an automatic base value of iMG from your rock every game day based on your level - just for being imagined!
@Liridona: most likely the rug.. after all... they probably stink like fox :p
