4 Accounts Deleted, 1 Suspended - No warning what soever, no questions asked, just *poof* gone. :(

Indeed, we're not out to punish people for anything (other than the obvious: griefing, harassing and generally just trying to make life miserable for other players). And we do not just go around arbitrarily banning/suspending/deleting accounts — when we think someone is doing something they oughtn't, we proactively get in touch with them (with a question or a warning or a clarification of our policies, depending on the situation).

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Yeah..... did I miss a memo revoking this statement? As title suggests, 4 accounts completely gone, my main, 'Hoodjack Saken' suspended. No warning, no questions, no IMs, nada. Just gone.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

*And to answer in advance all the people who are going to be ranting and raving about why I have so many accounts, please keep in mind: I have a casino, a mortgage business, hosted 'Storage Wars' here in glitch and have done over 13,000 auctions. I dabble in a lot of things hence the multiple accounts.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Finally, feel free to post what you would like, but if this thread turns into a hate session on why I have so many accounts, please keep in mind, that's not the point of this thread. The point is that Tiny Speck came out and made a written statement, and completely disregarded it. That is the purpose.

  • I think I still have some of your herbs if you grew any, last thing I saw was you sleeping...

I need to stop being a jerk, I removed this.

  • @Macs - The four accounts were completely deleted. They can not be logged into at all :(

@Macs - again :) - My mortgage business only owns 2 houses currently w/ 2 people living in them. Both individuals are currently making payments as well.

  • Each of your glitch accounts is associated with an email address. Check the inboxes for those email address.

I think the glitch terminology is a bit misleading.
Deleted just means banned. Your account information is still there.
Suspended means you cannot go into the game world (Well, you can, but god boots you off immediately) and you cannot post on the forum.

    Did you know:
The Enter World button for a suspended account used to say "You are having a timeout..." and now it says "Your account has been suspended"
If you cannot post in the forum, there is a message that says, "Oh drat. Looks like your fingers got ahead of you and now they need a little break."

  • I think Tiny Speck wants this to be a game where we each have an account, one glitch character, and build relationships and associations with the other glitches around us.  Not a game where people open as many accounts as possible to 'game the system' in what admittedly are creative ways.  I read on the forum today of somebody who said their alts owned the houses on an entire street in one of the bog worlds.  Uh... is that really the way we should be playing the game?  Sure, the game is a sandbox type game, but it's one where we focus our energy on one character that we play in a direction that suits our interest.  Or another one or two that we take independently in alternative directions.

The game is not a pyramid scheme.  Not a place to forum business groups composed of various sock puppets all run by one real human.  The game is not intended for people to own fleets of housing.  The rules are not bare minimum guidelines that players are supposed to 'lawyer' their way around.

Turing the issue into a legalease 'they published written rules and I was following them to the letter' session is just more lawyering.  I want those people in the Bureaucratic Hall playing Farmville.  I don't want them out in the game world, and I don't want to have to deal with them here in the forums.  Oh well.  I can be a dreamer.  I'm not the only one, though.

No 'hate' intended.  Live long and prosper.

  • Just curious, have you contacted support directly?
Have you checked your spam filters?
Have you had previous discussions with TS that might have been interpreted as warnings?

  • @Parrow Gnolle, when you get the chance to sign out, go back to the main site and it'll say:

    "A game of Giant Imagination"

    Points from there:
-Players are different, and having fun in different ways (without harming others in process) is very possible. It may not make sense to you and I.
-I think "...." what you think and know are two different things until says something.
-The quote doesn't say, "A game of 11 Giants information where you are subject to their thoughts and guidelines and everyone should follow one narrow provincial path.". IRL of course, you are.
-Imagination is limited/preset in this game (street projects for example), so most of us just mix our IRL one's with the Giants in the game while trying to be under the umbrella or rules and fragmentation.

-- Which brings me back to the post that:
Good Luck HJ with your stuff, and get back glitching. And I'm glad you posted so we could give advice.

  • The quote also doesn't say 'A game of sockpuppets, one for each of your fingers.'  But that isn't the point of this thread, which apparently was about technicalities of players not being notified on any of the various handful of email addresses they've set up, when they've broken the rules.  So I was perhaps wrong to drift from the topic of the thread.

  • Just curious, do your other accounts in anyway benefit your main account? Like sending money you make in auctions/mortgages/wars to your main? If so, that is blatant abuse. If all your accounts are completely independent and played as seperate characters then I think that is ok in which I would contact TS about your deletions/suspensions.

  • You dun goof'd.

  • Parrow, has he broken the rules?  That hasn't exactly been stated unequivocally in this thread, so why do you keep making the assumption that he must have?

On another note, I would love it if staff could eventually explain what the meaning of "advantage" is in a non-competitive game, because that could be interesting.

  • Hmm ... that's not actually what happened (you were notified and even replied), so I'll be locking this thread. And Hoodjack, you're always free to get in touch with us if you have any concerns.
