Why would you want to "Unlearn" a skill?

I was looking through the skill chart and wondering if anyone has gained the "unlearn" skill yet? Why would you want to un-do all the work of learning a skill? Any ideas or experience with this one, anyone?

  • I've heard that it's quite possibly because after each skill you learn, the longer it takes to learn other skills afterward.

  • Is there (or is there going to be) a max amount we can learn?

  • Last check the "Unlearn" skills required the "Impossible Achievement" so I rather doubt anyone has acquired any of them (other than the devs maybe).

  • There are other threads on this.  Basically, when the skill tree grows to massive proportions, there may come a time when you decide that you really aren't interested in pursuing Underwater Basketweaving 2, and would like to un-learn level 1 in order to cut down your learning times on other skills.  That's what the un-learn "skills" are for.  They are not really skills; they just let you forget skills you've already learned.  The Big Idea here is that people will eventually specialize, rather than trying to learn everything.

  • @glum pudding : Underwater Basketweaving sounds so cool!  Brought to mind my farming on WoW underwater clam cages LOL!

  • If you "Unlearn" a skill, the time it takes to learn one goes down, so the less skills you have, the shorter time it takes to learn.

(But still, I like my skills and never want to get rid of them :) )
