Using Firefox 3.6 on a Mac? Other browsers recommended for now

If you are using Firefox 3.6/Flash 10.3 combination, there are issues where there can be delays in keystrokes between action and result. For instance, you press a space bar and nothing happens for a couple seconds.

If you are a Firefox person, we suggest using latest Firefox 4 with Flash 10.3 instead. Chrome or Safari would be preferable to Firefox 3.6 as well.

  • And — this applies to everyone, regardless of browser/platform — if possible: use some browser other than the one you are using for everything else. All those other tabs with youtube videos and webmail clients will slow down the game A LOT.

  • The keystroke problem affects macs with all browsers, namely Firefox 4, Chrome 13 and Safari. The problem develops with time. In my opinion, the problem ultimately lays with Flash on Mac.

  • Is there a troubleshooting thread for FF4(Windows) and Glitch? I updated to FF4 and Glitch would not load at all. The site was fine, but it wouldn't even try to load when I try to enter the world.
I have trouble shooted everything I can think of. Looking for a thread where other players may have better advice.
    Thanks!

  • Hey Bunni3! I see a couple of client errors that your browser sent to us when it was logging in. I'll check with a client dev what we can discover from it.

  • What version of Firefox should we use with the mac safari 10.4.11
How do I know if I have the debugger installed?
I have deleted everything but Glitch from this location and downloaded all the updates for Firefox including todays new update 6/23/11

Is there anything else I can do to make this work better for both of us?

  • xoxJulie- you used Firefox 3.6.18 to make the post. There's not quite as much of an issue as there was when this post was made, but we still suggest moving to the most current version available for your platform. As for the debug version of Flash, there is some documentation here.
