I'll admit it took awhile. Sooooo.... HERE IT IS!!!
Ok, Issue 2 WILL be more organised and quicker. I think. Anyway, please comment on it! Some stuff might already be outdated, because it was new when it was written.....
Also, any suggestions?
Anyone else wanting their problems solved by me please contact me in game or email angelslocombe@gmail.com with the subject "Dear Angel".
I look forward to making your Glitch life a better one.
@TimeLord, I forgotten to take into account about the links. Stupid me. I think you have to download it and Cntrl Click the hyperlinks, or copy and paste them into your URL bar.
Ctrl click doesn't work and the particular one I am after doesn't give the address to copy, it's just blue and underlined showing it's a hyperlink. Could you perchance post the link here to the sound file of prisencolinensinainciusol please :)
The idea is brilliant, I really enjoy reading sometime like this for my favourite games.
But your layout was, I'm sorry to say, horrible, the chosen fonts were at some parts so inaccurate that I couldn't read anything. You should really ask someone with decent photoshop/ design skills to look over the next issue. As for your layout, I would suggest to use A4 pages in the .pdf format, which makes it really easer, choose fonts that are readable and make them big enough.
Another thing I would suggest you is to make this a monthly not a weekly issue, as it is hard work to do it really well and to get interesting content.
As a side note, I don't want to flame you, I really like what you want to do, it's just a pain to read when not done properly and I want to criticize you so you can improve. :)
I just have to find a clever phrase for my gnome....maybe send him to gnome school??? A better read than the local papers since there seems to be no mention of scandals...other than the nakid glitches (LMAO seriously)....loved it
My only gripe is the format. The PDF isn't bad at all - in fact it's pretty high quality - but that reader is a pain. I guess I can just download it and read it in Adobe next time.
And yeah, the reader sucks. Luckily it's easy to download it. :) It looks fine there- the pictures are focused and the curly font is a bit easier to read.
I know this kind of publication is a lot of work. Good job to all involved. I will agree with the comments about the fonts though - that was the first thing that struck me.
I have some graphic design background if you would like some help.
Weekly will be ambitious unless you can garner a rotating circle of columnists and reporters.
Computer challenged here. How do i get to read it? I click the link and get the front page, click on play now and I get a screen that says download. Do I have to download it? Is it a PDF file? I've only been able to open one of them.
Ummm... the font you're using. is un-readable.
I see nothing of interest, AND there is much too text & no content.
AND - you're offline AGAIN, after finally coming online for 2 minutes after being offline
for over a week... Im frustrated.
Sorry. I can't help what time zone I'm in. And I'm using Word 2007 I think, so I think it comes up different with folk who have Word 2003. Very how the thing shifts when you're reading it on different versions of Word.PS: I'm not even supposed to be here. School netbook. PPS: Thanks for all the feedback! I'l try to implement them.
KKC, what a great start to what I hope will be a continuing publication. Don't burn yourself out, pace yourself (and your material) and remember that every single criticism is actually a reader's way of saying "I like this and I care about it."
