This is a thread for people who are uninterested in the competitive aspects of glitch to make themselves known. It's fine and well for everyone to play within the game in the fashion they choose, but sometimes those of us who are non-competitive are quiet and go a little more unnoticed than we should. I thought maybe others like me could add to this thread.
I come to glitch as a pastime, not thinking of it as a 'game' in the sense of there being a score. I have never visited the Leaderboard page and probably never will.
Quoins have never really interested me. They are a little perk, and like other resources, I gather then where I find them, but when I see somebody else in an area jumping around to snatch them up, I'm never motivated to do more than think about silly I would feel jumping everywhere I went.
I like producing things, I like gathering things. I like sharing things. I even like participating in exchanges like the marketplace of Tower SDBs and the Auction. But not because I want to 'get ahead' of anybody, nor to take advantage of anybody else or raise my 'currant number' higher than theirs. This is a game of plenty, and there's no zero-sum. I can thrive and my glitch can build an appealing house, home street, and tower without it mattering if anybody else is 'ahead' of me. In fact, it's rewarding to work toward everybody being thriving and happy.
Anyhow, recent updates seem like they aim to make playing Glitch more competitive, and I know there are some of us who don't find that very interesting. Add your voice to the thread if you agree. We still have a game that is mostly non-competitive and we should make ourselves known.
And don't feel like you have to compete against my idea if you do enjoy competing. There's room for everyone in glitch.
