Model homes

I wish I could walk into a house before buying it. I've owned the smallest house in Groddle Meadow and the largest house and from the panorama, they seemed pretty close. It wasn't until I could step inside that I could really see that the larger house was so much longer. Also, I know that many people reject the Shimla Mirch style housing because they have no gardens but they really are beautiful inside. If players could step into one, they may be charmed into buying them, despite the lack of gardening patches (also easily cured with container gardens).

  • What are those 'ditch' areas fenced off at the bottom of the Alakol gardens?

  • I'm hoping they are orchard areas for your trees.  Or maybe pens for piggies?

  • Orchard areas seem unlikely as there are already four trees in the location, also crop areas seem unlikely as there are already those on the roof areas...

Animal pens seems more interesting, and implies that pigs might start eating stuff if they aren't penned up? Alternatively something new?

  • @RealimBob

Piggies already eat stuff if you leave it lying around where they can get to it.

  • @WindBorn a-ha, didn't realise that, guess I've just never left stuff on the floor in my garden before now....

  • Thank you Stoot and devs who make it possible to model the homes! This is GREAT!! And I absolutely LOVE the animal pens!! It is great being able to garden without animals getting in the way.

  • The model homes are great but I'd love to be able to go in "for sale" houses and have a look around. When you go to the door you can visit the realty page - but at the same time it would be nice to go in on a "no picking up stuff" basis.

  • I can see possible problems with allowing people to view "for sale" homes: what happens if there is a group of people wandering around inside when you buy it? Now you have a bunch of (possibly) strangers with access to your home....

  • Maybe only show the layout? i.e. hide all the items/trees/animals/etc for anyone who has 'realty listing' permissions? Then the owner and people with permission to be there can still be there and use it, but realty visitors can't change/move/steal things.

    animal pens - awesome idea!

  • To have a look at the inside of houses that are on the market/for sale is a good idea, but only those houses that are actually for sale, I would hate the thought of having people wander around my home just to have a looksie.

While on the subject of for sale houses, I wish all the animals would 'disappear' after a house has been sold, it is near impossible to get rid of them, and I for one do not want to inherit a horde of animals when I buy a property,by the same token I also felt very uneasy about leaving animals behind when I sold houses, knowing they'd become someone else's problem. There have been a few homes I'd love to have purchased, but couldn't because there were a gazillion critters left in the garden/pen ~and I'd rather not have to wait for a Dev to remove them for me, besides, I'd very much prefer not to have to bug a Dev with something like that at all.
