Is there some benefit to this musicblock beyond it being rare?
-
I wish it weren't so rare. This is something everyone should be able to obtain and treasure.
-
This is something that was a part of the gift to Beta players. Everyone who played during beta was able to obtain it. That is the point of it.
-
No, there's not, tyfn.
-
So it's beta folks only? Hmm, then I guess I'll end up buying one too. I like the song it plays...is that wrong?
-
They used to play that song at the end of each test (and have played it a time or two when they had to briefly shut down the game since launch). I believe a beta (alpha?) tester composed and sang it and Tiny Speck liked it enough to put it into the game (correct me if I'm wrong, I came in after all that). So it has a lot of significance to beta players that is lost on other players because they did not get to hear it almost every week as a ritual.
I do believe it is something that should be shared (so definitely run around and play it for people if they wish to hear it, Brib), but I believe it is a wonderful thing that it is rare and was a gift to beta players for that fact.
Not all beta players will treasure it the same and some will see it only as a currants opportunity, so there will be post-launch players that will have the chance to have it.
It's a really nice song, so no, it's not wrong to like it. :P

GNG before TS noticed it. I take no credit. Go to Lelu's page and thank her instead!!
If anyone gets mad about this, I'll kindly take it off of this comment.

From what I remember from high school, playing with your pickle is frowned on socially.
-
When you use all the options on your pickle you get a GNG musicblock. At least, that was how i got mine.
-
I was a beta tester. I have used all the options on my pickle. I still have not received the GNG block. Neither have many of my friends. We are all still trying.
-
It's not using all the options that nets you a GNG block, it's obtaining all the different random outcomes. (I *think*.) Keep playing, you'll get it eventually.
-
Audaria -- the GNG musicblock appears at the moment when the 6th possible outcome of playing with your pickle happens. As Sheepalot says, it's not a matter of using all the options, it's a matter of getting all the outcomes (1. Give you a sneezing fit., 2. Make you moonwalk for a minute., 3. Toss your inventory around randomly., 4. Turn you into a hilarious comedian for your next public statement., 5. Scream to annoy the livestock., and 6. Teleport you to somewhere random.). It took me AGES to get that last outcome, but finally it did happen. (And it didn't seem to matter which of the action choices I picked on the pickle, but I did make sure I'd done each of them at least once.)
-
I have the GNG block, and my inventory has never been tossed about. And I don't think the screaming one happened to me, either. :/
-
.
-
You must get all the outcomes. You may not remember getting them, but you probably did, otherwise you wouldn't have gotten the music block (or else it was a bug). It took me forever to get the last outcome I needed to get the block.
-
I agree with Ambrosius. I don't remember getting inventory tossed or screaming and I got the GNG block from the pickle my 2nd or 3rd day I believe.
-
I was one of the 'forever' ones. I tried all the "verbs" several times, annoyed all my friends with spam emails more than once, and finally, got the 6th result and the music block.
