T.S - When did thinking of closure begin and who brought it up?

I'm quite interested, I mean it was only about 2 weeks ago you asked about high level recipe idea which you wouldn't of bothered about if you knew the game would be closing its doors soon.

  • I'm betting it was just as sudden for them. Some bullshit like an investment firm changing hands and deciding to axe a bunch of risky ventures.

  • I wonder the same. :(

  • I would be interested in knowing this, too :c it seems so sudden.

  • That would make more sense to me scragz, I guess though in business you should never bite the hand that feeds you, so perhaps it is better if we don't pry too far.

The people that financed Glitch certainly wanted to Make Tiny Speck well known.  Maybe that will happen in the future.  If so. I hope they keep the players informed.

I think it does seem out of the blue. Such a shame.

  • I, for one, am glad Tiny Speck charged little to nothing for subs/credits. It may have ruined them, but good fuck do I respect them more for doing something like that in this current generation.

  • Here's what I don't get: In the Greeters group, a day before the announcement, there was a thread saying there was a big spike in new players. Next day, they announced they were closing Glitch. How does that translate? Was the decision just made through the day? If there's a spike, that ideally means upward movement, which shouldn't lead to the game being closed...

  • Mocha that is just weird, but apparently not big enough to suit the powers that be, and I guess the framework of the game.

I happen to think they should retool and relaunch.

    * If at first ( or second) you do not succeed try, try again*

Each failure is a new perspective on what must be done to do it right.

Easy for me to say- I am not the bankroll.

  • Because the announcement seemed so sudden to me, I was skimming through the shutdown topic looking for the part where it said, "Just kidding!" Also, I agree with Thursday Soleil; I think (hope) Glitch, or something along the same lines, could be re-workable for the future if TS wished to do so. Either way, best wishes to the company in the face of this bad time.
