Being able to purcase credits with currants?

I'm not sure if this has been suggested before, but will it ever be possible to buy credits with currants? Something like 20 000 currants a credit or something? I don't know. I think this would be a great idea because people would work hard to earn currants for credits and it could get more people to join incase they ever want to buy credits but for some reason can't buy credits with paypal or the method to buy credits.

  • The problem with your scenario is that no one working at TS can pay bills with currants. Credit sales and paid subscriptions keep the lights on and mouths fed.

  • True. But there would still be people who would buy subsriptions and credits.

  • -1000000000000. This is the most worstest idea. I'd rather that tiny speck made an assload of money and this game continue getting better for years and years to come. If you could buy credits with currants they would make far less money. Not to mention, if you really want to do something so detrimental to the game, wait a year or 2 and you'll see sites popping up for illegal 3rd party trading. Just like with WoW or Maplestory or what have you, there'll always be someone out there who wants to do it.

  • Thanks for your input, but you didn't have to be so harsh.

  • Bump.

  • @Akl292: Sorry but I agree with Grupletruge

It sounds like the best and fastest way to finish Glitch off

  • You should also stop bumping your own thread, it's not really going to help your cause, and noone else in this forum tends to bump their own threads. I personally prefer the ideas forum being sort of a democratic process, where if your idea is good it gets alot of posts and stays at the top, if it doesn't, it goes down. As the last person said, this is not a commercially viable plan for tiny speck. It also actually gets suggested about every 10 minutes and it just starts to get a bit irritating to see. Sorry if I seem rude, I'm more just trying to put the facts out there so you understand why this will never happen. If glitch doesn't make money, you don't get to play it. It's that simple, I want to play it, and really, the free to play model is highly generous of developers, especially one like glitch where the cash shop items have no real bearing on the gameplay or leveling aspects, the game isn't any less fun, your things are just less pretty.

  • Bumping your own thread so it gets more attention?

Ok now that you've gotten my attention again (I ignored it the first time around), let me agree with everyone else that this is a lame idea.

I agree with Grupletruge and I don't think their post was harsh.

  • -1 (bumping a bad idea doesn't make it a good one)

  • Great idea...if you want to kill TS.

  • It is a stupid idea from someone who does not understand that people need to get paid in order to make a living.  Just because there is plenty of free content on the internet does not make 'free' a viable business model.

  • The alternative, of course, is making glitch ad / sponsor supported, and thus "free"

Instead of the Awesome Pot making Awesome Stew, we'd have the Black & Decker Pot making Cambells Chicken Noodle Soup.

    Uh, no thanks.

  • Please don't be too unkind to the OP. She is still very young and I suspect only just old enough to play, and still has a lot to  learn about Real Life

Edit to add: Up until her reply below she called herself a minor in her profile.

  • Actually. I do know that people get paid to run this game and not everyone is free. And no, I don't need people informing me that this game costs money to run. It was an idea. And actually, I'm 19. Older than the requirements, no? I also hope bumping my thread isn't a crime. But now, it seems like it is. I understand your opinion is your opinion, just as I have mine. But I seriously don't need people acting like I'm 5 and believing that money grows on trees. If you want to be rude to me, don't expect much in return other than a snarky response. Let me say again, it's idea. Not me announcing that the world is ending. Seriously, you don't need to get worked up from an idea. I came up with an idea, so I suggested it. You posted your opinion: now move on with your life.

    Good grief.

  • For someone who wants to tell everyone to move on with their life, you seem pretty wrapped up in this thread... I think some people were more rude than others, I honestly wasn't trying to be rude, but you continually re-bumped yourself and you still don't seem to understand that the business model tiny speck has in place is not compatible with your idea. Also in case you were wondering, your idea has been suggested since the dawn of the free-to-play business model came out. Also, I'm not sure I buy that your 19, as the person in the post before yours mentioned, you stated you were a minor who plays in your profile before this, was that some kind of RP? Theres no reason to lie about your age hun, you could've just dropped the whole thing and everyone would've forgotten about this post. Now you're just making yourself more and more memorable. Honest advice: quit typing while you're ahead, bumping your thread wasn't a crime, it was obnoxious, and it still sorta is. Sorry if I hurt your feelings, it is just a game after all and I didn't mean for this to get so heated, I simply meant to inform you that you didn't need to continually bump your thread because this was never going to happen.

  • Grupletruge: My birthday was fairly recent. I didn't bother to edit it until now. I'm not lying about my age. Thank you for apologizing, but it wasn't needed from you. I'd like someone to explain why bumping threads is obnoxious, but from what I've seen I dont' really want a response. I'm used to bumping threads, if you go to any other site where there's a forum, I'm almost positive everyone bumps their threads every few minutes. I do understand, and I've had it with people insisting that I don't.

Another thing. Have any of you noticed what punctuation I used at the beginning of my first post? A question mark. It was a question. The third sentance: a question. It was a very tentative suggestion. Either some people just don't read carefully enough, or people just jump at the chance to shoot a rude response. I'm not a fan of people without manners.
Now. This is the last time I look at this thread. Don't even bother to post anymore. Your wasting your time. I dont' care what you have to say anymore. I don't want a single response anymore because it's most likely to be another mean-spirited response.

    Amen.

  • You said you'd like an explanation so here it is: Your mistaken, not all boards are like that. I've actually gone through the same thing you have on other boards where I had only been to very quick moving imageboards for a long time and then I went to a very slow moving board and thought I ought to bump every post I make if it got close to the end of the page. In boards that move much slower its generally considered a little obnoxious, because if you're topic doesn't get any replies its most likely because people just aren't interested. I make alot of topics in the ideas forum and if you search for them you'll find that many of them got no replies or just 2 or 3 and then died, and that's because noone was looking at them anymore. Maybe once glitch has some more users it will be necessary to bump, but for now, I find it to be a little rude.

  • Oh and to make one other point, questions aren't really for the idea board, that might be why people misunderstood the nature of your post.
