My personal feedback

1. Every time I open the Rock, I'm expecting to see my quests come up, not the skill I'm learning.  It seems more logical to me that people want to check quests more often than skills, or at least have it open to what you looked at last.
2. Inventory size/too many tools.  Don't have a problem with limited inventory, but because of the fact that you need a different tool for so many things, I've found myself staying away from learning new skills if I need a new tool for it.  I don't like spending all my currants on more containers to put all the stuff in, I'd rather spend it on something fun.
3. Midlife crisis.  Where I am now at level 13, the new skills I have to learn don't have a foreseeable benefit and the enthusiasm kind of stalls.  Much like 6th grade.  All I can gather is that at one point I guess I'll be able to make my own tools and other items, but for now all I'm doing is collecting more and more stuff that fills up my pack.

That's my 2ยข, wonder what others think.

  • @ 1. Yes, I can see how quests would be more useful to start with, but at higher levels, when you run out of quests, then it becomes more important to show skills. Would be good if it could remember what you looked at last and open that.
    2. With the currants, you will find it easier to earn more at higher levels. It's fully worth while spending the currants on toolboxes or bags and learning the skills and getting the new tools. It may seem like it's a waste of money now, but you'll be thankful you spent the money on them later. It seems to me that the first 20 levels are the hardest going, as you can't really do too much 'fun' stuff as it's mainly learning things, but if you can enjoy the learning process and hang in there, it does get lots more fun :)
    3. I don't know, maybe I'm lucky, but my enthusiasm for Glitch learning and playing has never stalled. Collecting stuff in packs and also in storage in houses is ever so slightly addictive after a while.  I don't think I could have survived the first 20 levels without a lot of big bag investment. It's definitely worth your while spending on bags and learning the skills now, and putting off the other stuff until you're at higher levels. The good thing about Glitch is that it doesn't have to be played in a hurry. You can take your time and just enjoy the ride.  I hope you find a way to enjoy the learning process and that it'll soon become more fun for you :)

  • Thanks for the comments, that's helpful.  I'm definitely enjoying the game, major props to the designers.  It's really beautiful to look at, quirky in a way that seems just right, and I like the little details like how the recipes are actually somewhat accurate to real life, multicultural and not too dumbed-down.

Other than that... pretty much ditto what Ebil said.
