What to do with all these carved pumpkins?!

I'm kinda bummed, none of my carved pumpkins or jack-o'-lanterns will sell at auction (and they were priced at or below the current lowest price when I listed them). But I need the pepitas to make candies! I have as many lanterns as I want laying around my house already!

What's everybody else doing with their extra pumpkins? Did you manage to sell them? Do you just chuck 'em at the vendors?

  • Keep them I guess they will be worth a lot more after this event has died down.

  • It especially sucks that the lanterns aren't selling. I nearly died to get those fireflies! lol

  • I put mine in shrines, drop them in party spaces and give the rest away.  LOL
    Too many pumpkins!!  :-p

  • @Nytician they're actually supposed to rot a few days after Halloween, so they probably won't be worth more. Unless the surprise we're supposed to find inside is really good, I guess.

  • I just hope after Nov 1 passes they don't rot or turn into something nasty. I would really hate to clean up...

  • desdemona im not sure the pumpkins themselves are, just the ones outside or carved.

  • Poppy, do they give much favor? Not sure why I hadn't thought of that before!

  • Been donating them to shrines. Not a big 'wow!' from the giants, but favor is favor.

  • @Nytician true, but OP did say she had spare carved pumpkins that aren't selling. Besides, there won't be much to do with pumpkins after Halloween, since presumably they'll rot as soon as you carve them :P I guess you might be able to get pepitas out of them.

  • I don't think the price will go up since they will disappear at some point this week (devs haven't specified exactly when yet). I also recommend donating them. Unlit pumpkins, carved or not, are worth 4 favor a piece. I recommend carving them first, though, to get the pepitas. Or, you could give them to newbies that don't have a garden and can't make them themselves.

I will keep a few around at home, both for decorative purposes and to see if they turn into anything special after they "rot"...

  • I'd keep them to carve all year around if they were stackable!

  • @desd - what surprise?  Is this from any carved pumpkin or only those that have been lit as well?

  • @Dejavoo, from the Zilloween thread:
"our chief Alphite Scientists here at the institute have ascertained that carved pumpkins and lanterns are known to be subject to rot. Whole pumpkins are not, but I wouldn't depend on with being able to carve them all year round if I were you... our Anthropology, Artifactology and History of Ur department have told me that carving is a pretty holiday-specific activity. The rotting pumpkins should leave you with something, I believe, as a thank you from Zille... though unlike the lanterns, they won't be locked to the ground outside your house, so you might consider moving them inside your house after the day you call "Halloween" is over. How's that?Posted 18 hr ago by annapeee "

  • If they do rot I hope they at least leave behind a pile of Jellisac.

  • Drop 'em in a shrine.  If you have multiples, they can will all go in together as multiple contributions.  So at most it's five drops into the shrine.  I made a big pile outside my door for a little while, but am mainly carving them for the jellisacs to use for fuelmaking.

  • I was just asking myself this. I have them all organized by name in my garden topped over each other. I think i'm going to donate them to the shrines. I'm going to pick up a big stack of the same kind, go donate, come back home, get another stack, donate. etc etc. I need the seeds! Must give out candy!!!!
