Invalid Invite?

On June 17, I received the message below  in my Play Glitch RSS feed:  I have tried to use it to sign up a friend for Glitch.  I've logged out of Glitch, closed my browser, and was not able to log in to create a new account.  I then used a different browser, with all history, passwords, cookies, etc cleared.  I've tried by clicking the link.  I've tried by going to the blog home page and logging in by typing the access code manually. All I ever see is the following error:
Looks like you've already created a beta account, vincent.cassar@gmail.com. You can sign in below, or sign out completely.

even signing out completely does not allow me to create a new account.   So, is my friend Glitch-outta luck?  Can we not get him signed up?  His address is on the list of people who want an invite to play.  And I was hoping that he'd get on board this test.

Glitch - The Game »
Show: - Play glitch today… here is an invite for you :) by admin

This is your invite to the Glitch private beta test. Before you jump
in, there are a couple things we’d like you to know: - We are still in active development and this is a beta test. We are
still adding new features, new content and fixing bugs on a
minute-by-minute basis and will be for some time. A few quirks with the
game are to be expected. - The game world is only open for testing in limited bursts. We are
moving towards a regular testing schedule, but for now the schedule is
sporadic. - We have only recently switched our focus from the underlying
technology platform and tools to the actual game design and play. Much
will be changing in each testing cycle. Details can be found on your
home screen after you log in. Testing will last for at least the next
few months. - WE WILL BE “WIPING” THE WORLD CLEAN AT LEAST ONE MORE TIME. That
means that you will occasionally lose all progress. But, it is necessary
for testing. So … yeah, sorry! If that sounds reasonable, welcome in! This is your access code: beginning-distance And here’s the link:

  • That site you link to is not ours, and that was an invite sent to someone else and published.

  • Well, that would explain it, wouldn't it.

    Sorry I got confused.
