How about some positive thoughts?

This game is my Nirvana....in my world I will see new players who are just as eager and polite as I am.

I envision the game staying the same, my group of friends will still be here. Free speech is free speech but how I loathe hearing one single negative word against my Glitch, the game of my dreams and heart's delight....

  • I listen to hear if there is something concerning. Then, as in real life, I turn it out.

There will always be naysayers and people who won't be happy unless it is their way and only their way.

See your world through your eyes and let those other folks drown in their misery.

  • People who don't like aspects of the game aren't bad, wrong, or not positive people. The job of a tester is to give your opinion so the game can be the best it can be. Thinking critically and expressing yourself is never a bad thing, it only gets bad when it is directed at other players.

  • Absolutely, Laurali. I was referring more to people who never have anything but complaints or emanate negativity.

i'm curious who these people are. i have not met any.

  • Here or in real life?

I was very honestly referring to in general - not specific to anyone here. Apologies for the generality.

I'm a laid back sort, happy to help whomever needs/wants help. I want to explore, enjoy, collaborate and meet new folks.

  • It's great that you love Glitch, but you might not like it so much if testers hadn't been criticizing every aspect of it for the last 16+ months.  By "criticize," I mean this definition:

    1. To judge the merits and faults of; analyze and evaluate.

It's what we're here to do.  If you aren't happy about some aspect of the game, speak up; otherwise, it won't get better.

  • here.

well, there was one guy in chat once who showed up, complained about the game not being about anything other than trying on clothes and having no endgame. then he left.

i disagreed with him, explaining some potential engame stuff. in hindsight he did have a better point than i gave him credit for - see commonly acknowledged post level 20 lull - still .. all negative.

but other than him i have never encountered anyone here who has said negative things about glitch without also saying positive things.

  • I hope that the friendships and relationships that have been forged during beta testing continue after the game is live... I had a great time plundering for peatbogs the other night with a group.  And racing through quests with another.  And building out one of the streets in Bortola with another group last week.

I think I remember this guy too - but if we're thinking of the same person, he was in game for about 2 hours before he started to whinge.  How would someone with approx. 2 hours of playing under their belt ever discover this?

  • @Laurali            You can easily form your own group to chat with as you play.   I came along with 250 give or take Faunasphere refugees. Sometimes you can tell or guess by the Glitcher's name if perchance he or she is  of European extraction.   We are all global, even we Americans....
People seem to congregate where they find humour, support, good vibes....

  • yeah but .. it sort of proves the point, doesn't it?

we can remember the guy so easily in part because there are so few people who "never have anything but complaints or emanate negativity."

  • stoot, morticia, brib .. was i being negative? i thought i was pointing out how everyone has positive things to say about glitch except one single guy.

is there some inside joke here i'm not getting, because i thought that pointing out how everyone is on some level positive about glitch is a positive thing in and of itself...

  • I think that guy was a Level 3.

It's those Level 3's ya gotta watch out for.  At Level 3, you either decide you don't know what you are doing but you love it anyway, or you decide the game is lame.  At which point, a Level 3 usually locates Global Chat and comes in to get acquainted or act douchey.

We might develop a Level 3 intervention program, but please don't now start glitching at me for mentioning anything like "intervention" or "program", since I am only half serious.

Those Level 3's need HELP, not HARASSMENT.

  • the low level gift giving quest is meant to target the level 3ish types.

not sure how well it works tho.
