Scaled pricing for cubimals at toy vendor

(From another thread on General.)

Maybe the vendors should offer scaled cubi box packs (prices are just suggestions / a guide).

5k for the Tin Cubimal Collector's Box / a common with a very small chance of an uncommon (no semi-rares, rares or uber-rares). Your standard piggies, chicks, butterflies, etc. Could also drop very, very infrequently from (say) tree-harvesting activities, to get the sickness of cubimal addiction kick-started.

10k for the Copper Cubimal Collector's Box / an uncommon with a very small chance of a semi-rare or common (no rares or uber-rares).

25k for the Molybdenum Cubimal Collector's Box / a semi-rare, with a very small chance of a rare or uncommon (no commons or uber-rares).

50k for the Whopping Diamond Cubimal Collector's Box / a rare, with a very small chance of an uber-rare (the top three rarest or special cubis) or a semi-rare (no commons or uncommons). No option should exist to just purchase an uber-rare box (with Rooks, Rocks, Gwens, etc.)...you have to try your luck with spins, Rube, other players who like to trade and sell, or buy a Diamond / rare box and cross your fingers.

Could cut down slightly on the piggimal (etc.) spam all over Ur (hiding them is fun, don't get me wrong, but there are possibly more piggimals (etc.) than people actively cubi-collecting at this point), and scale a little so newer players can start a collection and then afford progressively "better" cubis as they start generating mad amounts of currants in-game.

Collectors would have to save more currants before purchasing boxes, but would have less chance of winding up with 493 piggies to distribute throughout Ur to hordes of people who already also have 127 of them. (Slight exaggeration.)

  • I love this. I have a few commons and others that were gifts but I don't buy cubimals from vendors because I always get commons. If I had options like this I would definitely be more interested in buying and collecting cubimals. As it is now, the odds deter me from bothering with them.

  • Hmm.  I don't know how I feel about this.  -_-  I think I'm going to think this over before supporting or not supporting this.

On the one hand, sure you'd be more sure of what you might get.  On the other hand, it will just ensure that the players with the most money will most often wind up with the best cubi's.  I don't like that idea.  I prefer to give everyone an equal chance all the time.

However I do wholeheartedly support the idea of drops of cubi boxes from harvesting / petting / etc.  I love that idea actually.  ^_^

  • I've gotten two boxes as drops.

  • I'm not sure about this either. There is a certain excitement to opening a new cubimal box and hoping for a rare.  Throwing currants at the toy vendor to guarantee a rare doesn't sound like as much fun to me.

  • I also like the way things are now. It's a fun surprise each time a box is opened, even if I do end up with tons of pig cubimals. And like Miso George said, it's nice that even poorer players get a chance at rare cubimals.

  • I think this is a very good idea. The common cubi's are just are, well...way too common if you ask me. Even in mining the chances of getting the whollping diamond are better. I think the
cubi's are adorable and I would love to have atleast 1 or 2 of the more rare but after buying about 15 still not one rare. Actually I am to the point of not buying any more at all.
I do think your pricing bracket is a little high however.

  • Pricing was, as noted, just flung out there as a kind of placeholder / indicator of relative value differences and wasn't intended to be an actual suggestion.
