The "?" key? Not for everyone!

Just an FYI: The reload message regarding the shortcut list that can be brought up with the "?" key doesn't actually apply to all people on the site. I don't have a QWERTY keyboard, and pressing Shift + ß (which creates a question mark) didn't do anything. By trial and error, I found out that for me, the key combination is Shift + # (which creates ' ).

It would be nice if that information could be made available, or if it were possible to make the function actually available through the "?" on non-QWERTY keyboards. Even though we may be on an English-language site, not all of your users are native English speakers, or are using English-language keyboards.

  • I just held it down and then...the message would not go away :(

  • I had that too; holding the keys down again should let it go away, but it does seem a bit erratic.

  • Ah, tried again, and it seems the trick is not to let the Shift key go. If I keep Shift pressed and use # to show the window, I need to let go # first before releasing Shift. If I let go Shift first, it gets stuck. And sometimes re-pressing the keys enters "#" into the chat window instead.

  • Anyone knows/found out the key combo for a Spanish keyboard? (I live in Spain)

  • Ah, thanks, the stickiness is gone. Sadly, "?" still doesn't do anything, but Shift + # is now reliable.

  • It's a bit confusing even with a qwerty keyboard, since strictly speaking, there is no ? key.  It's Shift + / to get a ?.

And one must hold both keys down, which is weirdly inconsistent.  (And then, yeah, it sticks weirdly and needs another key mash for it to go away.) Why not make it stick and give it a closey-x/Esc like everything else?

Not to mention the obvious irony of users having to know a keyboard shortcut to learn the keyboard shortcuts.

Besides, isn't there already a help thingy in game, above the chat, with a question mark on it?  This is not that?  Huh?

  • My keyboard (what is Spanish) does have a "?" (example: http://files.myopera.com/tdjmd1/albums/9461592/800px-KB_Spanish.svg.png ) that's why I was asking :)

EDIT: Yes... I tried clicking the "?" on my keyboard (even SHIFT + ?)
    EDIT2: Found it!
