@Pii--Adding more uses to the High Class Hoe would also work. :) Add an extra moly to the recipe!
It's not so much the repairing that is bothersome but the constant interruption .
--The game has been more herky-jerky in the last few days. But I'm not sure if that's started before or after the movement cards for me.
--I'm with SchWM on the jellisac card. Doing it with others is rare. I'd pay nutso iMG to have less waiting in the game. Especially for harvesting, mining, and gardening.
I love the Hoe Down card. For all of you people carrying tons of Hoes, what crazy intense level of gardening are you doing?! I garden herbs in my backyard, have as many plots as I possibly can, and repair my HCH to full once, about halfway through.
Just take a moment to repair - if you have Tink Happy Thoughts, it's even better. You'll have to repair eventually anyways, so carrying 4 or 5 or 6 is just a waste.
-All that said, the option to return/remove upgrade cards to/from your deck, or have a little more clarity as to what puts them into your deck in the first place, would be pretty great. My mom just joined, and she keeps getting Hoe Down and Friend of Metal, both of which are bad choices for her right now, in almost every hand.
@stuv Yes, I am an intense farmer, I have 90 plots in my back yard, mixed crop and herb. And it's not the repairing of the hoe per se that I dislike, it's the disruption to my work flow. So I carry 6 hoes. Hoe repairing is done if I want a mood boost and the end of day
I don't like Hoe Down, and I'm far from convinced that it is actually an upgrade (though in reality I think it is an upgrade and I am just being a curmudgeon about it, but still). That's the one I would like to throw back. At the very least it appears to be very controversial.
How much more img does it actually give you? I can't recall how much I got without it.
I don't know how much *more* it gives, but at full skills/upgrades it's 10 iMG for a single energy. Along with water and planting, it totals to 19 iMG for 3 energy. Not as fast as pigs, sure - but possibly better than mining, if you ignore currants.
" As a small request from this thread, the Rube will now only play music for the player he wishes to trade with. If he ain't there for you, you wont hear him comin."
I hate this. I wish I could turn it on for me personally. :(
Well, I love the change to Rube music. Spending time in Cebarkul, you forget that there's actually a normal song that plays there, other than the Rube's!
Is that what it is with the Rube haters? They hang in Cebarkul too much and he's always visiting there? Doesn't sound like the Rube's fault...maybe some people need to get off of Cebarkul more often and visit the rest of the world.
I've been 'playing' glitch for a long time and I still get a little excited when I hear him coming, I enjoy the whole 'what I might get, am I gonna get the better deal, ohh a surprise' game aspect of him. (and not hanging out on one street long enough to see or hear Rube maybe the most twice has kept the music un-irritating I guess)
It turns out that the imagination you get from tending herb plots is based on your Croppery skill, not your Herbalism skill. (or maybe there's an interaction between the upgrade and Croppery, at any rate, with no Croppery and with the upgrade you only get 4 per plot tended).
If you have Tinkering 5 and a High Class Hoe then repairing 25 units of hoe wear takes 1 second and costs 12 energy. So each unit is 0.04 seconds and 0.48 energy. Since the upgrade makes tending cost two extra units of wear, that's costing you 0.08 seconds and 0.96 energy. To be an unambiguous upgrade, I'd say that would mean it should be providing you with 3 extra imagination per tend. Since I'm only getting 4 imagination I'd say it's probably not an upgrade, but that appear to be a bug. At 10 imagination per tend I would suspect that more than three of that is from the upgrade, so I'd guess it's a good thing, whether I like to admit it or not.
+ flowery pott: " I'm seriously hating Walk Speed IV and High Jumper III, especially the walk speed one. It makes the background move all herky-jerky, like the camera needs to jump to keep up with me, and I'm afraid it's going to give me headaches. My jumps are all screwed up now too. I would pay a sizeable amount of iMG to get rid of both of them."
I, too, loath the walking speed upgrade. Thought I'd like it, so I got it. Now, I have no control over my Glitch. She's zipping off hither and yon in this herky, jerky way that gets worse the longer I play and is giving me such a headache. Trying to grab quoins is a nightmare. Not fun. I have to close out the game because my eyes hurt. (lovin' lots of the other upgrades, lovin' finding the new ones. But not the walking one. I deeply regret getting it.)
@Axa: if you happen to be using Chrome as your browser, the problem seems to be an experimental/buggy/incorrect version of Flash that Chrome updates to automatically. Check out the topic in the bug forum; I believe it is stickied.
@ Flowerry Pott. Nope, not the Chrome browser issue. I stopped using Chrome when I got the alert about the bug. What I described is happening in Firefox.
Hoes and scrapers now have verbs that enable to toggle the Hoe Down and Faster Scraper upgrades - "Aggressive hoeing on/off" and Party scraping on/off".
Also, Hoe Down upgrade now requires Soil Appreciation 3 and Tinkering 1.
Party scraping on sounds like it would turn the upgrade off.
Aggressive hoeing on sounds like it would turn the upgrade on.
Slightly confusing?
But awesome. Thanks!
I would love a way to disable Spellbound Spindle (sometimes spins fiber into string rather than thread). I've been making a lot of furniture the last few days and used a lot of thread for general fabric. Getting string instead is not terribly useful, because then I have to spin again to get the thread I wanted in the first place. (I know my tower will eat most of the string, but still!)
I really want to Undo the Bag Sort Upgrade. I don't use it, had no intention of using it but I can't ignore an Upgrade - my own stupid mistake. I accidentally clicked the magic Sort and made my life Hell. I lost a couple items that i still have not found. My Kitchen Tools all flew out of their tool box and went into various other bags. Some of my other tools also left their toolbox. Nothing was sorted as I had it before the slip of my finger. When I finally got the Kitchen Tools back in their toolbox, I had two empty slots. I still have no idea what was in those slots. Despite getting the tools together, I still am having trouble finding various items and would give anything to go back to the condition of my inventory before i made the slip. :(
The Bag Sort Upgrade would be one I would like rid of. It upsets my vision, after a short time playing I have to leave game as it triggers a migraine. The option to shrink the list would be a big help.
