Game down?

After playing for about 15 minutes, I got a reconnecting screen, but it never reconnected. After refreshing the browser, I got # Socket Security Error --> Error #2048 5 times in a row and can't get back in. Anyone else having this issue?

  • Security socket error is usually either a proxy error, or a problem connection error. Try restarting your browser first, or a system reboot after.

  • I tried that already on different computers but it did not work

  • /人◕ ‿‿ ◕人\, are you accessing from a place with a firewall, like work? (Proxy/firewalls can sometimes prevent the game from loading)

  • I get this error too. No proxy configured for any browser, no firewall, transparent proxy or ISP filtering, AdBlock disabled, Windows Firewall disabled.

Happens on both Firefox (with Flash 10,3,183,10) and Chrome (with Flash 11.0.1.148). Running Windows 7 64-bit.

  • No proxy, no firewall.  Working this morning, now it looks like a machine named gs6.us-east.ec2.tinyspeck.com (50.16.104.201) is resetting a connection consistently.  I can't swear that this is the problem, but it looks significant.

  • I can confirm: setting up local DNS to treat gs6 as if it were gs7 fixes the problem.  Suspect that gs6 has been down since about noon PDT.  Maybe better server monitoring is called for?

  • Except that gs7 get's upset that I called it gs6.  Is there a way to get set up on a different server?

  • I'm also unable to log in. I can't view my profile, skills, friends, vanity, or wardrobe pages. All I get is the Juju telling me that the problem is temporary, though it has been happening for over 4 hours now. I've used different computers (iMac, and Windows, iPhone and iPad too) in different locations (Home, work) to no avail.

  • I am trying this at home so I do not have firewall.  This error happens every day.  Sometimes I can play, sometimes I cannot. This time it says

    # Socket Security Error --> [SecurityErrorEvent type="securityError" bubbles=false cancelable=false eventPhase=2 text="Error #2048"]

  • I have a hunch.  I noticed adblock plus on my brower.  Disabling it  for the site made it work it seems.

  • Now I am getting somethign else.  I can see the tips now but I see this error instead.

  • another one.  This is annoying.  I just tried a reboot.

    [UncaughtErrorEvent type="uncaughtError" bubbles=true cancelable=true eventPhase=2]

    [IOErrorEvent type="ioError" bubbles=false cancelable=false eventPhase=2 text="Error #2032"]

  • ok.  I forced a refresh.  This is so annoying.  These are the things I did at different times.

    1.  Disabled adblock
    2.  Disabled windows firewall (should not be necessary because the game works at times
    3. Cleared the flash cache
    4. Restarted my PC.

  • Thanks, /人◕ ‿‿ ◕人\- also, for those posting about the Socket Security Error, I also posted about that here, that some of you are unable to connect to the game to the game in a way that normally works ok for most everyone else- we've been looking into ways around this for those that are in this situation.

  • I forgot to mention that after those various things I did that I posted, the game worked.  I played 6 hours straight.  I am not sure about a foolproof way to get this to work but I am sure Adblock Plus and other programs like at are a factor.

  • Probably a good idea to check for programs like /人◕ ‿‿ ◕人\ mentions, though I have nothing like that and it still won't work :[
