Party Spaces

The 'Party' feature has been around since almost the beginning of Glitch but it has never had that much use, other than getting an ad hoc group of people together on a chat channel. But now it does!

Party Packs, available from the toy vendors, create a temporary space for members of a Party to get together by teleporting in to a private, shared location. There are five different party spaces available now (with more to come) each available in "taster" (10 minute) and full (60 minute) versions. Each of templates is a pretty crazy location in its own right and all come with lots of resources (a few mining rocks and several "making stations" where specific recipe ingredients spawn). People in the Party Space can use an "ATM" item in the location to extend the time if needed.

• Here are the five: Toxic Moon (a moon level with circulating convection craters), Nylon Phool (a tide pool fantasy), Double Rainbow (a candy-enhanced meadow), Pitchen Lilliputt (like miniature world, great for cubimal racing) , Mazza'la Gala (a Mazza'la/Firebog style party mansion).

• In case you hadn't used Parties much before, we just added an FAQ entry to give you the Party Basics.

(Bonus: For a limited time, use of Party Packs does not require a Party Permit from the Bureaucratic Hall ;)

  • Lila, all Party Packs are single use. They are expensive, but players can chip in (and they come with a lot of resources in the spaces, so most of the money can be made back).

  • Man this is SO awesome!!!  Now I just wish I was a popular player to be invited to parties...and that I had time off work to play for more than once a month. I haven't logged in for three weeks and I have missed so much! Oh glitch you are so awesome!!!

  • I wonder about these party permits
but yes, the party packs are awesome--I had a friend invite me to the toxic moon one, and people kept snatching stuff up while I was trying to offer my cocktail-making abilities--since I had some ingredients for them--I also offered up some food--flummeries and stuff, but only one person took me up. :(
It was 10 minutes of awesome, though.

  • After having a couple of parties that ended quite suddenly (first time I wasn't watching the timer - duh!..and second time the juju's were playing around and threw everyone out), I wonder if there is a way to return all goods left in the party room to the original owner before it closes down?

  • Is that because BA3 isn't open for learning, and thus a permt can't be bought?

  • Respectfully submitted :  Daredevil Canyon, whereby Glitchen can be loaded into a cannon and fired some distance, perhaps for prizes?    A circus big top would work for this too...

  • We noticed an interesting but not fatal interaction in a party space yesterday.

Innie made drinks using the ingredients provided and dropped them on the platform.
Then nobody could pick them up!
It's an interaction with the "dropped item protection" change that was introduced last week.
Once we'd worked out why, moving away slightly freed the drinks and everybody had a good time.
