Moving: A strategy with auctions

This occurred to me and I was curious if anyone tried it:

Figure out the max amount you can carry.
Auction off every thing else at massive prices.
Change houses.
Wait twenty-four hours.
Either (1) your stuff will be unsold and returned to you or (2) people will buy your stuff at insane prices.

Of course you will have to pay a fair amount in listing fees...

  • This occurred to me as well at some point when somebody with lots of high priced loot was being discussed, although it turned out that this wasn't what was going on. You wouldn't even have to wait 24h, you could just cancel the auctions. The strategy seems to make sense to me, and it would be interesting to figure out at what point the listing fee made more sense than just selling and rebuying the items.

Actually, the listing fees are pretty cheap - it's the commission that bites. As I've said before, I think that should be the other way around...

  • Or you can get someone you trust, leave your stuff at their house or mail it to them, then recollect.  This is how I moved multiple times with my boyfriends help!

  • I did a combination of helping hands plus auction. It worked and what I sold more than offset any fees lost for the items I didn't sell.

  • could someone explain why the house swapping is necessary?

  • House swapping isn't necessary, it's just fun.

  • striatic, for me I am planning on changing a strategy. Which means that I might want to change my "at home" resources.
