Moving to a new home

So, one of my goals for the next test is to find & move to a nicer house. I've stockpiled cash, done a bit of real estate speculation, and I'm confident that if I'm not reset I can grab a new place before the end of the next test.

This has raised a question though. How do I go about moving? If I buy a new place, do I keep both? is all my stuff transported? do i need to put everything in my inventory, or risk losing it?

  • You can't own two houses at once, so you need to sell your old house before you can buy a new one.

As far as belonging, you have to take everything with you, otherwise I think it stays in your house and the new owner gets it.

It might all be for naught though, the Glitch facebook account has mentioned a reset at the end of January.

  • Zaphod is right. The only thing that moves automatically are your trophies. And of course you can't take trees with you.

  • I bought a new house recently. Since I tend to not leave tons of stuff at my house, moving was not too bad. I did have to make an extra trip back to my old place because I left my gnome outside. What I did was get all my stuff from my old house, go scouting in new neighborhoods to confirm which new house I wanted, sell the old house, buy new house, unload stuff.

Has anyone actually found things in their house that were left behind by a previous owner? I left a couple small things in my old house, including a note, but I wasn't sure if they would really stay there like people said, or if they would just disappear. Same with trees. Do you inherit fully-grown trees planted by the previous owner, or are the patches always empty? All three houses I've bought have shown no indication of previous occupancy.

  • I wish there was a moving truck option or something. I'd gladly pay extra to have my stuff moved to a new house!

  • Two weeks ago I bought a house with a bubble tree planted in it, a pig and two chickens. And something... can't remember what growing in my seed patch Also something in my cupboard but would need to back and see what it was. I just assumed that was what you got when you bought a house. Love to know who had it before me.
The address is 2544 Marrakesh Meadow in Groddle Meadow, Ur.

  • My first house came with two of the cupboard slots full of wheat and two dead trees, I thought this was typical until I moved to a new house which didn't have anything in it.

  • @ Misha: That was my old house. I didn't know I would lose my stuff when I moved out, but I'm happy that you got them.

  • That seems to be the best solution for now. Friends and a pizza, works here too.

  • @ Aldaris if my house is still there next test your most welcome to have your stuff back :)
Is there a purpose for the hole in the floor? looks like a fishing hole to me?

This has me thinking. Would't it be good to find out who had lived there before [if anyone] Here in the UK it tells you on the deeds of sale who the last owner was. I'm just really a nosey parker :P
