when glitch goes live

I think the beta testers should get a few days of playing before the game goes live for the public.  So we can get a small head start and maybe get away from the soon to be crowded areas .  I mean we will be starting from scratch again, but at least we can get some of the early quests under our belts before the masses arrive.

  • Nah, just give us a T-Shirt with "BETA Tester" on it or a BETA Trophy!

  • Your head start will come from knowing how to most efficiently play the game, if you are concerned about competition. Beta testers shouldn't get any post-launch in-game benefits that put them ahead of others, "just because." It would turn into a political fight on the forums and in-game and a marketing nightmare for TS.

  • Apparently it's been decided that this wasn't going to happen. I forget who it was, but someone told me in Global Chat the other day. But since I haven't seen an official confirmation from a dev, I'm gonna keep my hopes up.

Honestly, I think it would be ridiculous not to give us a few days head start. Not even from a selfish personal standpoint of having a leg up on anyone (although thankfully that isn't even a concern in Glitch), but just to be able to help the actual new players. It'd surely be nicer to give a noob an Obvious Panini instead of a Bun.

  • It's been announced that after launch the game will continue to be "invitation only" for a while. So there won't be a sudden wave of new players. I guess this will be enough head start for us.
