Gardening & Earth Ideas - Fertile soil, seeds, earth, patches

Suggestions and ideas for gardens, some of them i found in other idea threads but putting them here in the list again:

- Flowers:
 --> harvest nectar from it
--> use to make decoration items

- Seeds:
--> Seed saving options: I would like it if it was possible to feed a piggy a large stack (not too large, but say a max of 30) and then get 10 seed in return, instead of now having to separate the stack and feed vegetables in portions of 3 to get those 10 seeds.
On the other hand, it would make getting seeds way too easy maybe?
--> Strawberries: Also wondering why strawberries can be planted and other fruit can't. Or why strawberries can't be made with the fruitmachine (forgot it's name).

Compost:
--> Make compost: 1.) Piggy plop as low level compost. 2.) Piggy plop + earth to make fertile soil to use as compost.
--> compost to speed up growth duration: Add compost, which speeds up the time it takes to grow. This way you can have more kinds of vegetables at higher levels (with way longer durations) but you could speed it up with compost.
--> compost to increase harvest: Another mixture to harvest more.
--> Too much compost: the crop dies.

Patch and Dirt piles:
--> Creating dirt piles: When digging from a patch, you'll automatically make a dirt pile next to it.
--> From digging in the patch you can get loam & earth.
--> From digging dirt piles you can get loam and mud.
--> Mud can be used for piggies or in combination with piggy plop and some other ingredients: extremely fertile soil.
--> Get worms for fishing out of dirt piles (see another topic about the idea for fishing).

  • Added the idea of nighttime crops in the Weather ingame thread in the idea forum.

Might be nice to be able to plant nighttimishy crops at night.
Or plant mushrooms in caves (if that isn't possible allready, can someone confirm this isn't an option yet?
Hmm better make it "Dark area crops" instead of nighttime.

Dark area crops (all grow at night, growth halts during the day.) (or growing in caves where growth is continuous)
    - Nettle (for nettlesoup and nettletea)
    - Mushrooms (but they need a moist surrounding, so need more watering?)
    - Starfruit (well it's fruit, but was trying to come up with something to do with night)
    - Red cabbage (because it has a darker colour)
    - Cocoa (because it's dark, to be made into powder for chocolate)
    - Coffeeplant
Next list is from a site found through google: (http://www.doityourself.com/stry/nightblooming) No idea what flowers they are but I like the names :P.

    - white sand verbena

    - citron daylily
    - lemon lily
