Larger inventory capacity - a solution

I would love to see a feature that allows you to expand your carrying capacity (perhaps starting at a certain level).  You could spend favour or currents to gain a new inventory slot.  I'm running out of room for all the things I need for my adventures XD

  • Right now you can carry 256 stacks of items in your inventory. Each of the 16 main slots can be seen in a single row across the bottom of your game screen, and each of those slots expands to a single row above that.  You can have unlimited storage for less than half the cost of a large bag, if you buy an  apartment.

Are you suggesting that the inventory wrap around to more than two rows? Personally, I wouldn't want to see any more of the game screen obscured by bags.

  • *shrugs* yeah, I guess that's what I'm saying. I figured the second row could extend down below the first - not obscure the game screen.  I don't like to leave things at my house, because you never know what sort of opportunities you might happen across while you're out exploring.  Just thought there might be some others out there who felt the same way.

  • When I play Glitch the actually game image only takes part of the screen.  On the right, the chats are visible, with the groups and friends hidden underneath it.  If I expand this, it covers up part of the game image.

Below are two rows for inventory:  the main inventory row, and the "open" bag row.  If a 3rd row was added, the actual game image would have to be made smaller to accommodate it, taking away the height of the row from the game image.

  • Perhaps they could make the images of the bags smaller so that more could fit in the single row?

  • Just give us bags of holding.  32 slots. 50kc in cost. Oh, and make them in the colors of the rainbow.  Nice jewel-toned bags. Like D&D and Pottery Barn had kids.

    I like that idea!

  • Or we could make the inventory scrollable..
or we could have bags within bags.. And we click on the bag in another bag, we get a display that temporarily overlaps with the main 16 list..
Or make a special inventory item which can hold bags in it.
I'm sure there are many ways to do it.. There's probably a reason it hasn't been implemented yet.

What I would really like to see is a 'smart inventory'.. something that stacks (-all your food in one row or a bag designated only for tools, or cooking related stuff or all your rocks and metal bars arranged one after another and.. well, you get the idea..,) automatically!

  • As described, a 'smart inventory' would forever keep you from creating a bag of things to give to someone else.  You'd never be able to have a stack of food in the same bag as a stack of sparkly, for example.

Nor could you create different bags for different activities (awesome stew in a bag with kindnesses and a TP script to the mines).

  • The ability to stack some things that don't stack now in the inventory (whether or not they stack for donation purposes) would fix a large amount of this. When I head to the shrine with all of my music boxes, they take up an extraordinarily large number of bags...

A smart inventory would be great, too.

  • I agree with Silky. Stacking items that are currently only stored as singles (music blocks, gems, etc.), and making larger stack sizes in general, would really help.

  • I curse the limits on what I can carry at times. That said, I'm not sure I'd want this changed, at least not much. Maybe tweaking some of the stacking a bit, but I think we should have to make choices. For example, I leave my chemical stuff in my house and grind my rocks when I get home.

  • The inventory, or lack thereof, is perhaps the most annoying and stupidest part of this game. You spend so much time organising and controlling your inventory than you do actually playing the game. For something like meat and rocks that can be gained in abundance, why is the stackable limit so low?

Having bags within bags doesn't exactly solve the problem; it just complicates it. I would like a bag that can hold as much as 20 items. Small change but it will go a long way.

Also, I would pay extra money for a 'smart bag' that has the ability to designate what it collects. e.g. ore bag, food bag, drink bag. But I think that you should still have the ability to move things around if you wish. I just hate always having to go into my 'donate' bag for any incoming items.
