What Glitch does for me

My life has been transformed...  I can now leap tall buildings with a single jump.. Seriously, there is a new pattern in my existence.. the days the game is on I am focused on playing... When the game is off there is recovery... sleeping again... I smile thinking about   the conversations  had  in  the game,       the dear friends a continent away whom I will never  meet but hold close in my heart. Thank you, devs... the best is yet to come.

  • Great post :D

I love the jumping buildings in a single jump. I've always been fascinated by Parkour and Freerunning, but I haven't got the energy, youthful exuberance or body type in real life for those kind of shenanigans, but being able to do them virtually is the next best thing for me :D
I spend a lot of my glitch time just eating spinach (something I also avoid in real life, as it's green and green food can't possibly be healthy or edible) and leaping around the place, and for some reason, even when I'm doing it with no particular purpose, it just makes me happy :D

  • Hahaha,im the same, even when i'm just walking the streets,i have this urge to jump the street, rather than walk, what is wrong with me? Maybe cos if i did it in RL,i would get arrested,or men in white coats would come!!

  • + 1000 napabeth and Ebil.

I think this game helps me increase my knowledge and express my creativity. At first I was learning a whole new game system, which at times was confusing, but the whole process was lots of fun, especially with so many helpful people. Now that I have learned most of the system, I find my creativity coming through at times (what unique outfit can I make this time? how can I be different? where can I place my next grave marker?)

That was definitely apparent during this last test, where I dressed up first as a gothic bunny and "egged" houses of friends and devs, then changed to a ninja and just ran around, pretending I was a Parkourer. I hadn't had that much fun here in a few tests (mine, sell or donate, rinse and repeat), so it was an awakening. this plus listening to my music made me feel alive.

  • For those of us with real-life physical limits, this game has some healing properties.  As someone said last week, just sitting in their house in Alakol is calming and restorative. Short-term escape mechanisms help me come back and deal with the real world from a less frenzied stance.

Jumping, running, clambering are also restorative for those of us who may not ever be able to do them again in real life.  If you've never been physically limited, it may seem weird, but after you have gone through the mourning period and have accepted your limitations it's refreshing to have an avatar that can act for you and let you reach back with your imagination to replay those actions.

  • WindBorn, that's fantastic:) (not your limits obviously but your vicarious enjoyment in game). Love hearing stories like that. +1000 all and napabeth especially on the dear friends on other continents and the wonderful conversations; I agree wholeheartedly!

  • With the kind of thinking that this game perpetuates,  I am sure the day that the lame shall walk will be here sooner rather than later.

  • Beth I couldnt agree more, with this game the skys the limit I just love this game it lets me do things I could never do in R L and not only that but, in my mind I am back to my youth, and all the players I have met are the best you could wish for, you feel so alive and so happy,

  • WindBorn, we are glad you are here and enjoying the game.

I love being here, and talking to all my friends in different countries and continents.  They make me laugh, and most of us need more laughter in our lives.

  • I'm with you sgjo, it makes me smile and laugh outloud at myself if i have a hard time jumping up on a rock. Just wish I had quicker keyboard skills so I could be more social.

  • Yep, miskey...I'm horrible with the keyboard but the good thing about having awesome friends is - they don't mind backtracking 20 pages to see what I'm talking about (coz it takes me that long to respond to something said :P)
