How to Bring Back Street Projects

Sadly, my interest in Glitch did not begin until after the Street Projects had already been completed and played out. I missed out on many badges and a few trophies. Some of the Street Project badges have never been acquired by anyone. I think it is time we brought them back.

But from what I've heard, the Street Projects were something of a problem. As as soon as one opened up, people flocked to it to complete it as quickly as possible. And with how many people that play Glitch, only a few were able to make significant contributions.

I propose that the Street Projects be areas that require player maintenance. And that they be very large streets that offer unique resources such as the ones needed to replace the vendors. Or at the very least, the street should have resources that are more bountiful than the ones currently available. There could even be special super-creatures that only appear once the street is brought to its 100% state. Like a giant piggie that gives copious amounts of meat to those who nibble him.

Each region of Ur could have it's own Project Street that has unique resources that cannot be found elsewhere. And who knows? Maybe if all the Project Streets in every region are at 100%, it could open up the Super-Project Street that has ALL the unique resources from each region's Project Street.

Perhaps the size of the street can grow and grow as people contribute beyond the 100%, allowing it to get taller or longer depending on the kind of street it is. People could even vote on what resources will be added in the next expansion of that Project Street.

Thank you for your time and if this idea has been posted before, I apologize for reposting.

  • I love this idea - I never got to participate in Street Projects either, and I think this sounds quite fun!

  • Awesome idea - I was a small part in some street projects but it did get very crowded and I was never able to stay for that long - only participating in a couple of parts. This sounds fab :)

Rather Homely, this is sheer brilliance :D I love the idea. LIke you you and Lula, I only started playing post street projects and would love to experience them. I particularly love your "super-project street" idea because having a super amazing goal to work towards too which ultimately benefits everyone would be a wonderfully unifying force in the game. Moreover, it might bring those on the brink of leaving the game from boredom back into loving the game again.

I have watched many videos on street projects and read up on it too. I know that in the past there was competition since those who contributed the most etc., would attain a rank somewhere (please correct me if I'm wrong) as well as earn trophies.

Perhaps what I"m about to suggest is radical, but how about these projects be there for the sake of community spirit. No ranking system etc., Just all of us working to benefit the game and each other and the rewards being these unlockings that should bring folks flocking back to Ur (the world and not home streets) hopefully.... Pie in the sky perhaps but maybe just maybe it would appeal?

  • Instead of just one street in one region TS could expand on what they tried in the last projects. 2 regions and I think there were even 3 streets going at once.
Maybe instead of just one street at a time all intersecting streets would open up, like Groddle Junction has a street sign with 5 posts so it would be 5 projects all at once and then fan out from there ???
