Sound Required Info in Advance

If a quest requires sound, can we have a warning before we accept the quest, please? It's frustrating to accept a quest and suddenly find out I need to quit out after having done so. Personally, I play on two different computers, one of which is much easier to see and use, but it has no speakers hooked up to it. I cannot just turn sound on. The other is much more annoying to use, but can do sound, so I will switch computers to do the quest, but it'd be nice to have known not to accept the quest in the first place when I could not do it. And for people who are deaf and will not be able to make use of the sound data, it'd be nice for them to know in advance that this quest is not accessible. Or for people who sometimes can have their computer make noise, but sometimes need it to be quiet and may not have earphones handy, it'd be good for them to know to do the quest later, when they won't disturb anyone else.

I expect this won't be an issue for most players, but I expect it'll affect some people beyond just me, and it doesn't seem that hard to put the info into the quest dialogue before you click to do the quest now.

  • I play with the game muted normally - I'd find a sound required notification useful also.

  • I always play with the music off. When I did the new conch quest (Pilgrimage of Esquibeth) I did get warning in Local Chat that I need to have the sound full on

  • I do agree with this as well, but FYI, this new quest is still do-able without sound.

  • like the warning we needed that sound is required at the beginning of the Esquibeth quest perhaps...?

  • There is a warning at the beginning of the quest to make sound available. It's also POSSIBLE (although certainly much more difficult) to complete the quest without hearing the sounds if you watch Esquibeth's ghost carefully.

ETA: Sorry, I misread. You wanted a warning before accepting the quest. Fair enough.

  • +1 (I normally play with sound off as well)

  • I know this is a few days old but you don't need sound for that quest anyway. You can easily see the notes written on the wall and the buttons are positioned at heights that correspond with the notes.

  • And yeah, after I switched computers and did the quest with sound, I realized I didn't actually need it. But I assumed the sound required meant I'd miss important info, like at the Rook museum, if sound was off. And since it says you need sound, it'd be nice to be told that before the quest starts. Whether there is a better way to word it when sound is a clue, but the quest can be done without sound is also worth looking into, but since it's already giving a sound required warning, I just would like to see the warning moved/added to before the quest starts.
