Small item displays to build up xp -- Is this a good idea or is it icky?

I am outing myself here as a greedy young glitch, but I do so in the hope this may benefit others.

I was invited to a party where lots of interesting food items were being offered. I knew I did not have anything equally good to put down if I took some but I also knew I could "see" info about these items if I picked one up. So I picked one up to get a closer look, and BLAM! A lot of new xp got added to my small count. So I put down the lox again for somebody else, and picked up something next to it. BLAM! I got xp for that. I picked up 5 or 6 different items of food and drink, putting each one down after I got xp for holding it.

In real life, what I was doing would be totally icky, and nobody would ever invite me back to a party again. But at the party, I am pretty sure, what I did was not upsetting anyone and did not take anything away from anyone else.

So what I was thinking was, putting out different items one by one, so several people could each take a turn holding and replacing them, could be a fun party idea for helping out others. I am not talking about expensive items, just unusual recipes or fruits or spices.

  • I don't see anything wrong with that....It's pretty fun to pick up new items, actually! When I first started and went to a party, it was really funny to learn about the different foods! It made me want to learn cooking to make them :)

  • Well, Glitchen don't appear to have germs, so I don't think anyone would mind like they do at real parties :) XP for new items is awesome, go for it!

  • I say as long as you don't sneeze on anything, it's fine.  ;)

  • Please wash your hands before handling the food. Then you may pick them up to your hearts content! (i did the same thing when I was starting out)

  • Ha, that's just what I did while visiting random residential streets. I never take anything meant for someone else's neighbors, but I will hold onto something briefly for the xp. xD
Go for it, it's not hurting anybody! (:

  • Hahahaha!  Touching all the food at a party would be gross at a real life party...  but then again, so would massaging a butterfly, or squeezing stuff out of a chicken.

  • Ewwwwww! so true. Also I have seen very few pigs in real life, even piglets, that tempt me to nibble.

  • We had a young glitchen at a party once who told us he was getting experience from the food.  It was great fun trying to see how many different items we could make for him to fondle.  I say go for it and fondle away!  The giants did not imagine germs.

  • Not long after I started playing I spent a happy day buying one of everything cheap from all the vendors, got me off to a good early start.

  • yeah, I don't think it's icky. Kind of fun, really. I kept a bag of the DB and BB series music blocks to lend out to friends so they could pick it up the blocks and get the XP/trophy. I left it in my old house when I moved this afternoon - the only thing I kind of regret leaving. Otherwise I'd offer it for you to fondle :)

  • Seems fine to me.

If you see Spice on the ground, you'll often see you have options other than Pick Up.  I don't think anyone would mind you trying these out even though in some cases you'll use up the spice.

  • Totally fine to do so, even highly recommended.

This did however made me think about something disturbing. Did you ever consider how much of the food we eat here that's made out of beans came out of Glitchens' noses? Ewww...
