Rare Item Info

Just for you guys, here's a list of the info. Rare Item vendors are currently available in Vaaka Kala, Aranna; Haqiq Cedony, Folivaria; and Chalan Vaara, Kalavana. Here's a lovely little chart:

Item                                                                    Cost from Vendor    Max per Vendor    Max in game
Antique Spigot                                                       250k                                   111                   999
Rube-Shaped Potato                                              500k                                    83                    750
1 million currant trophy                                           1mil                                   N/A                    N/A
Factory Defect Chick Cubimal                                 1.5mil                                  59                    525
Highest Quality "#1" Imported Glitchmas Yeti           3mil                                     33                    300

PS wow that was a pain to type up. I wish we had HTML tables, at least.

  • Unfortunately <table>'s aren't an option in these forum posts.

  • Only very basic HTML is allowed.... no tables!

  • Wondering how much currant-cy these purchases will suck from the game economy? Look no further! I have done the arithmetic so others don't have to bother.

Assuming that all three vendors are restocked twice (for a total of three rounds each) and that they all sell out, we have:

    999 Antique Spigots @ 250,000
    + 750 Rube-Shaped Potatoes @ 500,000
    + 525 Factory Defect Chick Cubimals @ 1,500,000
    + 300 Highest Quality "#1" Imported Glitchmas Yetis @ 3,000,000

= 2,312,250,000 currants at list price
    (2 billion 312 million 250 thousand).

And this does not include the purchases of "1 Million Currant Trophy" since these are unrestricted in number, so the number of currants sucked out of the game in a few days is... rather large.

    Currant sink ftw.

  • It does make me wonder if ts had some other motive for releasing these items.

  • My thought is that it pulled out thousands upon thousands of hoarded items in SDBs. Everyone went on a selling frenzy to the Tool Vendor, and then bought the items, so it not only took the items out of the game, any currents that flooded into the game via the Tool Vendor were sucked right back out again.

    Economy balancing FTW.

(Personally, I'd love to see doing away with selling things to vendors so that the flow of money into the game slowed up a little bit.)

  • Heaven forbid if selling to vendors were stopped ~auctions, sdbs, and shrines would be overflowing with stuff!
I think we're all in some kind of major 'clean-up phase' and making preparations for opening the doors to all who
    dare enter here....muahahahahaaaa

  • Mwahahahahah! And now I'm the only one with SDBs filled to the brim... My market vengeance will be terrible...

(or something like that, anyway. I think I'll make a cup of tea now.)

  • That was the first part of the plan - balancing back the economy by sucking out the currants and items accumulated in more than a year.

Second part? My bet's on phasing out vendors, so bye bye harvesting tons of small items to get a massive influx of currants in player hands and back into the economy, thus keeping the inflation somewhat in check.

End result: balanced economy, ready for the upcoming opening of the game. My second bet? Game's going to open in less than a month from now.

    Any takers? :)

  • Still dont understand if they plan on "phasing" out venders why there would be multiple upgrade cards just for them....Just to waste everyones IMG?To upset everyone that spent there IMG on the upgrades just to have them taken in a month or so?Expecially the new Glitchen that are not able to make 40k + IMG daily.... Doubtful but who knows.

Because staff is paid in currants! We need currants!

  • Better tell 'm to release a few Yeti's then as I'm having a few left over currants for you right here! ;)

  • There is a problem with continual inflation... so these items will only appreciate.

But the thing that I don't like is that it introduces extra artificial scarcity into the game. Yesterday I was content building my tower. Now I'm sad that I don't have the liquidity to grab a factory defect cubi chick. And don't feel like taking the time to liquidate my SDB's at the moment. It is a good example of the psychology of happiness and contentment.

  • The major argument against "they're doing away with vendors" is the fact that we just got a batch of vendor sale price-related upgrades.

Maybe they just wanted to try selling something with a little more exclusivity, just to see what happens.

  • "Maybe they just wanted to try selling something with a little more exclusivity, just to see what happens."

It is very simple my friend... Just take a look in the marketplace over the past month or more. People were having small fortunes (whatever that means in Glitch terms) with nothing to spend them on. Thus we've seen old poisons going from 10k to nearly 1 mil in less than 2 weeks. Or offers for 15 mil for a Christmas Yeti.

No, it is elementary dear Watson. Predictible. People were to jump on these new shiny toys and have something to spend on, and we did :)

As for the vendor part, it is easy for a glitch with most skills and upgrades to make more than 500K / day using nothing than harvestable resources and vendors. Unless I am seeing things wrong, this may be against the phylosophy the game was built on, and that is to work together.

Thus, I am betting we're going to see some changes to limit the possibility to sell in mass quantities to vendors, or we'll be back to square one - with many millions to spend - in less than 2 months from now.

  • @Kukubee: Oh gosh, I am so sorry!  If I had known sooner I never would have hoarded all those gems, musicblocks, meat, milk and grain--I'd have sold them ages ago and donated the currants to the hard-working staff that give me so much to enjoy.  I'm glad I finally had a reason to do so!

Edit to add: my wife said this post came across as me being a sarcastic jerk.  I actually wanted it to come across as me being a funny but appreciative sycophant.  But apparently I am not funny!  (Oops.)

  • Maybe it's a way for them to find out what activities make to much money too quickly, so they can find out what to nerf!
