Does it make a difference where my bags with the missing stuff are?
For ease of time-to-time checking to see if stuff has been restored I have piled the 4 bags of mostly empty Firefly Jars in front of my storage cabinet.
We had recent bug with how trophies were being counted and displayed for you. To fix it, we ran a cleanup task which did some checking on trophies that you had in your old houses. Unfortunately, the fix was also emptying bags as it ran. Bad news. What we did was go to our backups to get that restored, and then had to start a number of tasks to run (some taking a long time) to go through each player's house and get things replaced. We're pretty sure that most people were fixed ok, but obviously not all. For that, we are very sorry.
What's good from this side is we at least know what players were affected for the whole problem. We're going to ask you, dear players, either open up a help case (with this handy link) or just re-respond to any case you have already submitted. Doesn't matter if it was marked 'resolved' by us, you can still get into the case and send another update- you can view all your cases here. If you posted what you believe to be missing in this topic, please just give us a link to the post you made in your help case. (Copy the Permalink under your post if you are unsure.) It will be easier for us to keep track of these from the actual help cases opened rather than respond to follow up posts here, which is why we would like to get the cases.
Please be patient, we'll try to take care of these as soon as we can, so if you don't hear back right away, you should soon. (You can always re-respond to a case you opened as well, which will give us a reminder.)
Lastly, we're cooking up a special item in commemoration(!) of this event. We'll be giving it to those players whose stuff we messed up, when it has been finished.
I am one of the lucky folks who got my stuff back - Thanks! I appreciate the work you are doing and hope that eventually everyone will get everything back especially the Fireflies (all of mine were on the floor and unaffected). I was upset to lose my Herbs but got them back as I expected. I would have been devastated to lose my Fireflies. Had that happened, I would have let you know what hospital to forward the commemorative to :D
Thanks for that kevbob (still my hero!)
Have done as instructed and left a further ticket.
It has inspired me to make a note of anything special that I have now, just in case!!!!!
Left a ticket also. As stated before, the items still missing from my cabinet bags were eaily regathered. Beans, cherries, gas and bubbles. Thanks again for a quick fix and keeping us updated as to what was going on. :-)
Hey, just a note- some of you will get bombarded with dialogs confirming stuff we have given back to you. I'm afraid it is inconvenient, and we apologize.
Was only a minor inconvenience, kevbob...made me realise just how much work y'all put into this and I thank you for that!!
Peeps also need to realise that, as soon as you open a spot, it will be filled...so what I did was drop it to the ground as soon as I got it and then when everything was finished I could take my time to refill and relabel all of the empty bags that were in my cabinet lol
We made the notifications easier to manage, so sorry for those annoying dialogs before.
About notes given by other players and teleportation scripts w/o destinations. We're afraid we can't retrieve those which were blanked out. Again, a thousand apologies.
I won't cry over the lost notes... I kinda figured you wouldn't be able to restore those. Ah, well... I remember a couple people sent me nice notes, at least.
* lifts little glitchy nose in the air and does the snoopy dance* Thank you again for all you did to make this nasty little bug a breeze to deal with.. Well, at least on my end that is. The bags with replacements for my lost gatherable goodies was a very nice bonus. I can cook again! LOL.
anne216- you've responded to your help case, we're not actually going to be keeping track of people's cases in this topic, just use the case- Michael will respond when he is back working, if you can be patient, we will be sure to sort it out. :)
Well done Kevbob and the TS staff. The stews had arrived, but it had been dispersed among the empty spaces in my inventory bags. An extra bonus for me...all the stews returned and another beautiful bag. thanks again :) You are the best!
Any chance we'll get the imbuements... uh... imbumifications back for the scrolls we've lost? I got mine from street projects rather than my own tokens (which I've been hoarding like a fiend) but I was still kinda attached to them!
Pale Queen, afraid anything you don't see on your teleportation tokens now which were in the bags is not re-gettable (and that is regrettable by us). :(
Thanks for the posts and the follow up cases everyone. And in case you respond to one of us and you don't get a response right back, they may have just left work for the day or have just started a day off before your message arrive, so please be patient, I promise we'll get to you.
:)
I noticed a curious situation with my bags on the ground. Most of my bags are marked with the number of stacks inside, like "Full Jars 16", or "Onions 7". While I was missing quite a few bags in my cabinet, the stacks in my bags on the ground had duplicated a lot of items. They seem to follow a "duplicate current # of stacks -1", so the 7 Onions added 6 more onions (7-1) and now contains 13 total stacks. Single stacks did not duplicate.
This seems to be true for full bags too as can be seen by the firefly jars. My firefly bags had 15 empty jars and one full jar after the bug. It looks like the bug created 15 empty duplicates (16-1), then pushed the 15 empties to the front of the bag leaving 1 spot open for a full jar with the other 15 full jars overflowing the bag inventory (either being truncated or just not displayed and no longer able to be interacted with).
Here is a big thank you and hugs for Kevbob -who we know from past experience - does not sleep much - and with all these issues, has put in round the clock hours to help us. Michael was also extremely helpful. Thanks guys - this really was a mess that was not yours in the making but WOW you are to be commended. Cheers MA
I have a small bag in my cabinet that is empty..not sure what was in it...that is the only thing I see missing. I know it wasn't empty when I put it there. Sorry I didn't check sooner
Thank you, thank you for the adorable dust bunny stick! You guys are the best! Hope you get some rest finally......I know it took days and days working 24/7 to sort everything out.
FIBER! That dust bunny is so cute. He caused a stir around the tool vendor!
Thanks everyone (especially kevbob because he is my hero!) for all the work.
BUT - please try not to do it again?! lol ;-)
This thread explains SO MUCH. I really should have noticed it - I just figured I had forgotten what all I had thrown in shrines.
Thanks for the dust bunny! And for making sure Senior Funpickle and my creepy heart weren't lost even though I didn't even know they might have been. *recovers from shock*
I luv the dust bunny stick ( thank you TS ) even though I haven't used him yet...I have no clue what is/was missing..LOL....I try to keep things tidy and in order...I am always cleaning out and selling, dumping into shrines..I guess I just assumed I had a clean out whilst I was tired...lol
Besides I am sure if it had been/or is anything important, I would have/will noticed it gone eventually. lol!
I am not sure but when i went to go get 1 of my bags out of my cupboard to give to a newbie yesterday it was not there i am not sure if it was someone who has a key to my house took it out of m cabinet (I have asked them no to) either way just wondering if you can see that thanks!!
I'm sorry, but from the instructions in this topic, we asked players to open a help case. We are not following up with individual requests in this thread. Note, this topic is from an issue that happened 2 weeks ago from a very specific event; if you have questions about something more recent, this may be something different, but you need to open a help case from this form.
With that, we're going to close this topic off to ensure further inquiries are sent in via the help form if you don't have an existing case.
