Apply action to entire plot of crop patches

It is so boring to tend, water, plant and harvest all the little patchs in a plot (either public or in the house). One of the reasons I dislike any of those stupid fv-type games. Be nice to have the option to apply an action to an entire plot, esp in our house plots. It could be a benefit of one of the higher skills.

Sidenote: the same could apply to mining a rock, it you have the energy, it mines til the rock is gone.

Update: after further thought, the plot tender would only for for home use. Further experience with public plots shows it is not really needed.

  • Inevitably, someone will die from this and complain. Or mining/tending gets nerfed even more so you can't even start if you haven't got enough energy.

  • +1 million!

Yep. Croppery III should give this benefit, methinks.

  • (Or a yet-to-be-added Croppery IV - maybe with some other compromise like higher energy use or reduced bonuses)

  • Cosigned. Croppery IV, opens up "Tend All", "Water All" and "Plant All" options, and a chance to get seeds back with the harvest as the additional bonus. Make It So.

  • +1 on the seeds being a added return bonus. I know you get them from piggies, but not everyone wants to be a pig herder. I haven't bothered with piggies at all.

  • well, its understandable that planting and picking are manual, but i honestly expected a high-class hoe and irrigator 9000 to apply to whole patch.

  • How about a high-level Croppery skill which allows you to use a Scarecrow, which would work similarly to meat collecters by automatically tending and harvesting seeds for you?

This is why I never do crops.

I may have PTSD from FarmVille when I realized I was logging in to click (literally) 768 times in a row and then log out.

  • Irrigation machine! Automatically waters your crops for you while you're out :-)

  • Games like Farmville give me repetitive strain injuries.  Glitch is headed that direction too, although for the most part you can use the keyboard to avoid spam clicking.  "Water all" type options would be welcome.

  • I agree, a water/tend/mine all option would be great in a lot of instances.  Definitely worth adding a new skill to the tree.

  • +1 to this idea, i like the idea of growing my own crops but the 28 plot crop in my house is not being used due to this tedious nature of individual nurture/ hoe-ing.

  • During beta, there was an early test that let you select the entire garden, but implementation was quite wonky, and it was pulled.

  • I think it's worth another try for them to figure it out.  I really like the idea of more skills that give the all option.  I think they should either stop automatically if you reach 10 energy or not work if you don't have enough energy to avoid accidental death.  Honestly I'd like to see the death thing go away.  0 energy is just 0 energy.  But I love skills.  More Teleport skills, to give us more port points and cost less energy.  More skills please.  and more quests too, maybe a random rotating daily quest, or a small quest for each day on the Glitch Calendar that we have the 4 hour day to complete.

  • I like the idea of an irrigation system and an automatic harvester, but I don't think "harvest all" would be a benefit unless you want to grow all the same vegetable at once.

  • I think this idea is too important to be ignored, thus I bump.

  • After listening to the Stoot interview, and him speaking about making devices to automate tedious chores (milking/feeding/collecting), it would seem the automatic plot tender fits right in.

Something that allows you to clear and water the entire plot (or by row) And allows you to plant a row at a time, or even the entire plot with a type of seed. And lastly, to harvest either row by row, or the entire plot.

Tenders would be for home plots of course.

  • +1. I don't even care if it takes a longer amount of time. Just make it so I don't have to CLICK so much. Sheesh!
