The Live Help Channel Needs a New Title and Warning.

Many players and I have asked questions in Live Help about things in the game, but it appears that Live Help is more focused on solving problems that are minor bugs or potential bugs. Specific questions about how the Game works or what exists in the game aren't allowed.

Here's what it says: http://prntscr.com/4fkwf

Here's what I think a better title may be: Have a problem?

Here's what I think a better warning may be: "Welcome! This is a Help Channel! Do you think you're doing something wrong or that something isn't working correctly? This chat will help! However, please use global for anything else and keep this free for helping. Thanks!"

  • I think Live Help is fine the way it is.

I've only ever used Live Help twice though, once regarding my pigs and their erratic eating behavior. In that instance I did ask global first but no one knew enough for certain to help. The other time was recently when someone was stuck in the ground in game.

It's not like the Live Help chat moves as fast as Global, and Global can be a bit overwhelming for new players. Who really wants to interrupt a massive, fast paced conversation for one question that might seem silly to the asker? Just sayin. xD

  • That really doesn't have to do with what I said... what you did was ask about something you didn't really know about and could've been a bug.

I'm not saying to change the focus of live help... that has been done... I'm asking for a visual change.

  • I think the problem is that 'help' is a very general term, and players interpret it as a chat group for things they need 'help' finding. New players often need 'help' finding papers, salt, or cheese. I once wanted the group to 'help' me learn which drink provided the best mood boost. Other players will probably continue to be misled and ask for 'help' locating or learning about a variety of things. However, as the guides kindly told me, Live Help is not for players who want 'help', it is for players having 'trouble'.

Are you stuck in a wall? You're in trouble. Are you lost and can't figure out the map? You're in trouble. Did something unexplainable or glitchy occur? That's also trouble.

I think if 'Live Help' was renamed to be less ambiguous, guides would be less busy and players would be less confused about the chat's purpose.

  • "Live Help" is widely used in websites to label technical support via chat. Right now the only new players are by invitation, no? so probably they have a friend to ask about salt and besides I don't think is too much trouble for the people answering the live help to post a link to the faqs once in a while.

  • That's up to them, we're talking about pressure on us from live help. We don't want false advertising.

(Not like Live Help doesn't consist of busy people who also deal with stress and have feelings)
