Serious Routes

Tired of loading home street after home street for only a handful of disorganized resources? Are you spending more time searching for those few trees you're after than you are actually harvesting them? If you're serious about gathering resources, Serious Routes are for you.

Serious Routes mandate a minimum of 12 units of the route type, and most of our members have the maximum possible (e.g. 15 for trees). This means less loading, less searching, and more harvesting. Simply put, you get more, faster.

We are currently accepting members to all routes listed on the site. Our tree routes use the top sign and our other routes use the bottom, so as to allow members to also participate in the corresponding HRR routes (which use the opposite). If you're interested in joining a route, please contact the route's curator.

And if you're interested in curating, joining, or just using a Serious Route that doesn't exist yet, let us know!

edit: You can find the new Serious Routes thread here: http://www.glitch.com/forum/offtopic/23804/

  • I haven't read through this whole thread, but I figured I would pop in to cast my bit re: animals. I normally don't suffer a lot of lag, but on the 40 pigs, 20 chickens, 20 butterflies streets I do. Also, if I actually wanted to harvest all 40 pigs, 20 chickens, and sing to 20 butterflies? On every street on the route? I don't think I'd even get the route done in one game day. Perhaps a happy medium would be to ask every street to get serious about one animal instead of all of them? I don't know if that would help the lag, but it might be worth a shot.

  • I'm in for jellisacs route! Come on glitches, join us o/

  • A few animals is no problem, but going to a street chock full of animals and harvesters and feeders is seriously bad. Multiple icons begging for tithes adds to lag. Throw in machines bleeping that they are out of fuel and gnomes babbling witty (or not) phrases to get a recipe for browser crashing.

I really appreciate these routes, but they will work so much better if the streets are kept relatively clean. Seriously.

  • My input on animals: It's fine to have them, so long as they are corralled away from the resources.

    Need help with that?

Use the Gemstone Heights style, put your piggies in the trees, put your butterflies on a tight set stick in the ramp halfway down the left side so as to keep them away from stuff, and keep your chickens at the base of your house while using a bog home to keep your door away from them. Keep your chicken pole set to tight as well, and if you need grain, get as far from the chickens as possible while still managing to interact with them with enter, and spam enter for tons of grain.

Need an example of this? Go to my house street.

As for joining the metal route, yes I will. Also kinda tempted to leave the HRR metal route as well, but we'll see.

  • RE: Animal lag

I'd have to agree that the animals do cause lag, and even sometimes kick me out of the game. It's not just me either, it's happened to a few friends too.

  • I just love the Serious Bean route, just four Glitchen but lots of lovely beans.

  • I have serious wood. Wait, that came out wrong.

I have maxed out my home street and planted 15 wood trees. Anyone else want to join a Serious Wood route?

  • I'd like to join the serious bean route if there is still space available to be added :]

  • I prefer the Super Ultra Uber Extremely Maximum to the Max routes, which are absolutely free as apposed to just plain ol' free no risks involved.

  • Hi!  Amazing idea.  I am still changing up my resources but when i determine what will be permanent i'll let you know and join a route.

Just checked the website though and the Bubble route isn't posted.  I figured out how to get on it by the previous posts on the thread, but it would be nice to just go to the website.

    Great work everyone!!

  • Coconut: The Serious Bubbles route most definitely is on the site, it's the third one from the top right now!
Posted 6 months ago by Lx’s Ghost Subscriber! | Permalink
  • so are you and the MERL coinciding or are people making 2 lots of serious routes? and if so I really don't see the point in that..
Posted 6 months ago by LittleAngel Subscriber! | Permalink
  • For those that are wondering, MERL is just FIVE streets with the maximum resources, whereas SRR is numerous streets with 12 of the route type and some other resources but most have the maximum.
Posted 6 months ago by Ayasta Subscriber! | Permalink
  • I think the difference is that MERL is one continuous loop, and serious routes are each their own loop. So if you just want a lot of spice, then you go to that loop only. I think that you would use MERL if you had to gather a smaller amount of various resources.
Posted 6 months ago by Scarf Subscriber! | Permalink
  • We are not affiliated with MERL and were unaware of them when creating Serious Routes. As Ayasta and Scarf noted, their goals are somewhat different than ours, so we see no reason why we can't coexist :)

  • Barnacles? I have 12 in my street
Posted 6 months ago by Minoas Subscriber! | Permalink
  • How often does the page update? The Jellisac route is quite a bit bigger than is shown, and it's been a few hours since I updated the route.
Posted 6 months ago by Helvete Subscriber! | Permalink
  • I hope people realize that creating a website like seriousroutes.com involves both time and money. A domain name must be registered (costs money), a hosting account obtained (usually costs money), and then the website must be designed, coded, and put on the hosting account server. Once the website is working, adding routes or making changes to the routes requires someone to go in and make edits (since there is no way to make this happen automatically).
Posted 6 months ago by Splendora Subscriber! | Permalink
  • Splendora is correct, our site is currently updated by hand whenever I am aware of changes... so if you've added members to your route and I haven't noticed, please let me know! The jellisac route has now been updated :)

  • I've 7 (x3) Mortar Barnacles on my street. Still building up...  The good thing about mortar barnacle, is that you just need to wait 10 minutes and they replenish. If you have 3 streets on your route, as soon as you're finished one run you can start again :)
Posted 6 months ago by balatik Subscriber! | Permalink
  • Ok, make that 8 (x3) mortar barnacles!
Posted 6 months ago by balatik Subscriber! | Permalink
  • Let's make one barnacle route. Just to clarify mine is 12x3.
UPDATE: I have talk with Lx. We need 2 more with 12x3 or more to start a new route

  • If anybody is interested in joining a Serious Peat route, please leave a message with my butler (you'll need 12 peat bogs on your home street). Thanks!

  • I'm in for Serious Spice route. I have 13 trees now. And a naughty gnome (which I've removed until I come up with some cleaner phrases)

  • I have Serious Dirt Piles (19 of them) if anyone is interested in dirt.

  • I am ready to join the egg route! I have 12 egg plants with 3 more on the way as soon as I can get enough wine!

  • Oh, cool. Is this what you were messaging me about? (Sorry, I tend to be pretty distracted when I'm playing.) I'd be happy to join the gas route. Which person do I add to my sign?

  • I have now joined The Serious Jellisac Route. Plenty of Jellys to harvest.

  • Minoas : ok for a Barnacle Route as soon as we get a 3rd :)
    Bottom shelf of the sign?

And i still have to expand my street and get 4 more barnacle spots...
Posted 6 months ago by balatik Subscriber! | Permalink
  • Balatic: Great. Yes Bottom sign. Now we need one more
Posted 6 months ago by Minoas Subscriber! | Permalink
  • I just added a bunch of jellisacs and wouldn't mind being included for that group.
Posted 6 months ago by Canines Subscriber! | Permalink
  • Hey guys - love this idea.

Rnixon the crook and I have a sort of "serious patches" route set up. I'd be totally down for keeping responsibility with alerting people to not plant things in it. We both have at least 12 patches on our streets. (I'm currently on the egg route, but that could change in 5 minutes!)

Let me know what y'all think. This would be a no-hassle way to get those hoeing badges for others.
Posted 6 months ago by zachwulf Subscriber! | Permalink
  • That sounds LOVELY, zach!!

Not-so-serious Serious Bubbles now has over 5000 potential bubbles for you to collect! Pewpew!

But seriously, how serious can bubble trees be, with their tin hats and all?
Posted 6 months ago by HAVOK PEW SUMMERS Subscriber! | Permalink
  • I'd like to take a moment to highlight the fact that the Serious Jellisac route now comprises 336 jellisac across 8 streets. By comparison, there are only 256 jellisac in all of Ur, and that's scattered across 43 streets in 3 regions. Big ups to curator Helvete!
Posted 6 months ago by Lx’s Ghost Subscriber! | Permalink
  • I would join a Serious Wood route.  I've got 15 wood trees.
Posted 6 months ago by Hyacinth Subscriber! | Permalink
  • I've heard you still need curators!  Which routes you need them for?
Posted 6 months ago by Serra Subscriber! | Permalink
  • All the routes on the site already have curators, and Minoas and Frodo Alpha-Turkey have volunteered to curate potential barnacle and peat routes, respectively (both looking for members!)... anything else you can think of is open to someone to start/curate :)

Posted 6 months ago by litlc Subscriber! | Permalink
