We have butlers and we have the Magic Rock. They perform similar tasks (keeping an eye on our home street, helping us keep track of things, giving us a reason to live… etc.). I've complained before that this seems like an unnecessary multiplication of entities. So now I'm refloating a new and improved approach to consolidation.
For the Glitch with Imagination to Burn, I propose we have an option to trade in our butlers and our Magic Rocks for a new unified alternative: The Home Street Spirit.
The Home Street Spirit would:
1. Assign and manage quests, including those offered by street spirit vendors.
2. Collect iMG by observing the actions of visitors.
3. Announce the comings and goings of people visiting our streets.
4. Provide a mailbox (and alert us to mail and packages).
5. Handle the cultivation of our streets and back yards.
6. Do all the announcing, messaging, and info-providing that butlers can do.
Perhaps eventually the Home Street Spirit could automate some gardening tasks for us. It would be great if we could have our HSS do batch selling of items, or even sell bundles of unalike items (say, a garden plot restoring kit), so that if a visitor depletes a garden plot, HSS can announce: "Restoration supplies available here!" Visitors could also choose to sell items to the HSS, according to a user-created price sheet.
I think it would be extra-spiffy if the Home Street Spirits were Giant-themed, so that we could visually demonstrate an allegiance if we chose.
I propose that Home Street Spirits require A VERITABLE TON of imagination to acquire, perhaps through an upgrade card. You could even squeeze folks for more iMG by making various extras be add-ons. And of course there's always the credits needed for fancy customization!
