  • Glitchens of all shapes and sizes
    Live together and wear disguises
In a world where generosity and laughter is key.
The fun never ends, just try it and see.
Come fall in love with this unique new game,
However you play it, you'll feel the same.

  • Welcome to the world of Ur,
Where every day is just a blur.
Though some may take the way of mining,
Some others take farming, herdkeeping or gardening.
So come down, the world is yours to shape,
As long as you share it with friends, one might look like an ape.

  • A Haiku to celebrate Glitch:

    Endless fun from your
    "Giant" imagination
    Thank you, Tiny Speck

  • Okay, it's stupid, and it's haiku, but here's three reasons I've been digging Glitch lately.

    Made an egg seasoner
    Just hatched a caterpillar.
    TOO MUCH BIRCH CANDY.

(In my dialect of English, seasoner has two syllables.)
(And I've been making tools and birch candy the last few days, and just got animal husbandry -- baby piggies and caterpillars and such!)

    A tiny speck of
    imagination turned to
    blissful fun in Ur.

  • Glitch

    I want to be inside-
    That place where happiness hides
Where fun is the only law
And being tired is the only flaw

I want to be a residue-
    Giants never forgot about you
They send you little specks of love
And sometimes a rainbow from up above

I want to be a glitch-
Where a rock makes a sales pitch
Of tending to chickens and butterflies
    Until that next refreshing sunrise

  • Recycling from the old "Blame it on the Alakol" thread:

Dev Piggy get up get logged in,
    Dev Piggy go to Ur.
Dev Piggy watch players squabble over sparkly and beer.
The players say they love developers, but when game is down,
they get all whiny and demanding and they act like clowns.
Dev Piggy thinks maybe players wanna write goddamn rook code by themselves.
    Dev Piggy not type it in tweet;
Dev Piggy not crazy just beat.

    Dev Piggy like graphics
Dev Piggy like talc and crudités
    Dev Piggy very busy dude
    Big warm fuzzy logic scripts.
    Dev Piggy like Glitch
    Dev Piggy like Glitch

(ETA: this is sung to Jonathan Coulton's "Code Monkey," in case it's not obvious)

  • There's so many games and sites
Happy to find Glitch and you all
    Already a level 24
Never will I stop at all
    Knowing how addicted I am
You can never pull me off
Over the games I've been playing
U are the best of all
    Good people do exist
Like the nice Glitchians I've met
In the big big world of Glitch
Talking to them while we mine, plant and all
Cheering for each other over achievements and badges
Happy Halloween to one and all!

I am not sure if this counts but it's what I've experienced so far on here and I am thankful for the new friends I've made. Also thanks for telling us about this event. :)
(P.S all the first letters add up to THANKYOUGLITCH and this is dedicated to all Glitchians!)

  • Use the tools that are nearby
To scrape and form the mortal clay.
Our goal: evolve our way of living
From lonely struggle to inclusive play.

Presently we revel in whimsical Glitch,
A game, and yet more, I'd wager.
In a land of safety it magnifies -
    A microscope to examine behaviour.
I note my own and gently scrape and form.

Through play we can become aware
Of the world's true charms and glories.
All that inspires us: empathy and sharing,
    Fellowship, generosity and caring
We can have in reality's realm.

A community has formed inside the game,
And though we are far-flung and differ widely,
Yet there is a place we all can meet,
Together we visualise our world of the future.
Thank you, Tiny Speck, for imagining it so.

  • This is recycled and edited from another poem I wrote. The devs I used are purely based on their order on the about page, and the number of verses I had. :)

Stoot Barfield took a look at Ur,
And he liked what he saw, mainly.
    But presently he became astir;
A sense of something missing, plainly.

Eric looked around, saw ground, saw sky.
And those were fine and good.
He looked around, saw trees spry,
    But his foreboding withstood.

All at once, Serguei said "Aha!"
    As inspiration hit him.
He leaned down, formed a piggy paw,
Followed by a body, and some fur.

Bees! made a little blue thing too,
    With neon wings aflutter,
    And from it, milk withdrew,
    Followed by butterfly butter.

    And finally, last, not least,
Myles made a little chickie small,
And fed it grain, a feast,
Till it was biggest of them all.

Stoot Barfield took a look at Ur,
And liked what she saw, wholly.
The land now buzzed, and contained fur,
    and Barfield smiled fully.

  • Free flowing paradise
Glitchens fly, propelled thoughts through space

    Gleaming glitter scattered
    TL;DR a mantra

    Birds and bees cannot compare
Meat and milk are bread and water

    Here, my home for hours
    Ur is a Tiny giantsend

  • In this strange world
Where Glitches of all colors play,
    Wearing trenchcoats and octopus masks,
The world of Glitch is as diverse as a Giant is big
And them Giants surely are large,
    Only glimpses seen.
    The Giants govern the world,
But there are others higher up
    Known as God,
    Talking to all at once.
    Never seen, always heard.
Travelling on the hands of the wind,
    Always heard, never seen.
    Like a tiny speck
The little eyes are watching us always
    Don't think otherwise.
    To them, to the higherups
The ones that build our world we see,
The ones that give us laughs and things to do,
    We give our thanks
    Now and forever.

  • A thousand twirling butterflies
    released by thankful hands,
Look, watch them rise up to the skies
    delighting all our lands!

    Oh glimmer, tiny firefly bright,
    among the jellisac clump,
You need not hide your grateful light
    about the Somewhat Sump.

For we were all once but a gleam
    in the giants' dreamy gaze,
And with the dream came The Dev Team
That brought to life our days.

And though the giants imagined us true
the Dev Team made us real:
That's how we grew, made Awesome Stew,
    discovered the Gameshow Wheel!

So marvel, Ur, embrace the call,
    be charmed by kukubee's style!
Fair Glitch, stand tall, come one, come all -
let's play for a long, long while!

  • Glitchy, Glitch so fun to play,
    I log on almost everyday.
Hard to pin the joys within,
As words escape it's oddball shape.

    From bossy rocks to musicblocks,
    Squeezing chickens for grain pickin's,
To feeding food for batterfly poo.
Such whimsical charms are sure to disarm.

Like nono powder it's so addicting,
    Sparkly rocks craze it's inflicting.
And global chat so long and scrolling,
Trolls and bad puns send my eyes rolling.

Best of all, the community of glitches,
And Tiny Speck who helps fulfill wishes,
Of a place to nap from real life's crap.
A beautiful creation of giant imagination.

Glitchy, Glitch how i love the game,
I wish that all felt the same.

  • Laying here for so many years
    I learned how a screen
Can be the largest window of them all
Open on the endless space of fantasies
    On seasons strange,
On places almost as wide as my dreams.
I had to shoot and kill and hurt
Just to see a little more of them
Just to run, just to be.
    Then suddenly  a pasture
    so kind
    and tender
    and nice
    Simply because it can
And to walk is so much easier
that it is easier to smile
And return once more to fly.

  • Yeah...  it actually was!  I'm sure we all did it initially for the prize but poetry-wise it was a cool challenge too.  The twofold requirement was probably hardest for me to integrate sensibly, to make something that was both a dev-directed thank you and a general celebration of what we most liked about Glitch.  There was also the ever-present challenge of 'Glitch style' (possibly that's what Messy meant by 'creativity'?) that I don't think I incorporated very well but others did wonderfully I thought.  I and a couple others also decided to enforce some kind of rigid pattern to the poem (eg, rhyme scheme and meter for mine, acrostic for Katsutos) that wasn't really required, didn't necessarily add anything and made it a bit more annoying to complete satisfactorily.  Mind you, I loved Katsutos' acrostic so maybe that was just mine heh.  Anyway thanks Messy for this little distraction! :)

  • Thanks for loving mine Lara, it probably wasn't fitting to requirement but just how I felt about Glitch. Being new here and not having any friends other than those whom I got to know from elsewhere and joined here together, I got to know people slowly. :) Now I have few good friends on here! :) Not sure who will win but good luck to all!! <3
