Thanks in advance!

Get big bags, use them in your storage space. Piggies can eat herbs and crops that fall.

Let's see...if you have remote herdkeeping, keeping a few pigs and butterflies is really profitable.
Only people you've given keys to will be able to get into your cabinet and garden plots, but anyone can pick things up off the floor if you let them in.
Piggies will eat off trees if there's no food in the feeder, if they're not contained in a pen.

Never underestimate the power of spinach jumping off of your balcony.

Plant trees according to what you use in crafting. Same for crops for cooking, etc. Butterflies last about a week or two depending on how much you sing and massage them. They will die eventually, so plan on replacing them. Pigs and chickens can also be kept, but it can be a pain squeezing/nibbling them all separately. Fecundity powder makes for a great food explosion, though! Any food item can go in the piggy feeders -- Grain is easy and cheap. Your pig will starve in a couple days without food in the feeder, so watch out. Finally, gardening is a good source of music blocks and other goodies at harvest time!
Happy ownership!

You can multi-click the pic above the animal's head to multi-squeeze/pet/nibble/milk. Your daily harvest of the animals takes much less time than if you single click. Can't believe it took me so long to figure this out (facepalm)

Each 1 food, no matter how much energy it contains for Glitchen who eat it, will fill a feeder 1 unit.
Your storage cabinet will never be enough space - plan on having to use floor space to put random items down, and try to start off as organized as possible so you don't end up with a mess of stuff you will have to organize later.

the only thing in my storage is my yeti... everything else is on the floor ]

Don't make a mess! Clean that all up or there will be no dessert for a week!
(just kidding!)

What shexy said about organizing floor space. I got Penmanship so I could put notes down to organize mine. But it's still a mess. Stuff on the floor lags your game, so fill your whole cupboard up first.

Learn to hoard effectively. If you have pigs, or if they can't be contained inside a pen, bag all edibles, and that includes but is not limited to planks.
If you have no pigs, simply stack items of a given type (pie, corn, eggs, birch syrup, etc.) atop one another without the bags, since you can stack far more on a space in the floor/yard than any bag will ever hold. I have a stack of several thousand potatoes for instance (not the only one in the thousands, but it should make the point. even a 16 ct bag can't hold the number I have.
For that matter, I often end up with three or four bags worth of music blocks, all deposited into one nice little space in the yard, until I realize I need to off load them to the vendors. Empty a 16 ct bag, make three or four trips to the vendor to unload, and I'm ready for another week of music garbage collection...and 30-40K richer for it.
