When an SDB sells out to keep the icon of the item

Right now it's easy to forget what went into which SDB, so my suggestion is that when an item sells out the icon remains with an inventory of 0. Naturally when an owner removes all the items the SDB will be cleared. This will make restocking much easier for us shop keepers.

  • +1 I'm about to enter into the selling buisness, and this would help a lot! :D

  • Actually I was thinking of an easier implementation. If we could just name the SDBs then we could name them after what is being sold and there would have to be no change in function. Also over in this thread:  http://www.glitch.com/forum/ideas/24344/#reply-257593 where they were talking about adding functioning cash registers to the game (just a few hours ago we were given at least the deco version) then when we collect money, there could be a message in the local chat window as to the names of the SDBs that were collected from, similar to when the butler announces who was on our street.

  • The more I think about it the more I would personally like the a way to create a user defined label for the SDBs. I know in another thread where people were requesting reporting on who was buying from their SDBs which would require some kind of label for easier reporting, why not have it user defined. Also if an API was ever created to allow us to sort through SDB like what Malero has created on http://glitchmarket.com/tools/marketplace/ then labels will also help with that task.

It's late right now so either I'm over complicating things or just stating the obvious so I think I will stop for now.

  • something like this would be great.

ETA: if you use the keep the icon method, perhaps greying it out to indicate it's run out?
