If you had 1,000,000 currants, how would you spend it?

Just wondering what if saving up currants is indeed worth it....

  • Someone did before the last reset.  I don't know what they did with the cash.

  • I had almost 500,000 in the last test. I used most of it to buy gnomes, smelters, shovels, and grinders for donating to giants for faster learning.

  • One industrious Glitch wanted to see if there was a hidden achievement for gaining 111,111 currants (there isn't), then spent the rest of the time trying desperately to give the money away. Not sure how successful the effort was, seemed to take a rather long time to give money away.

  • I'm down to 30K now, but I didn't do any mining this test, so I was just giving, giving, giving. I have helped 19 people get into houses at last count. Have purchased five for myself at various times, bought 16 bottles of Tree Poison Antidote, extra feeders and milk collectors and meat collectors that I dropped in random spots. And Trav, I actually got over 200K at one point. Should have screen shotted that one, too.

  • I barely even know what to do with the 30,000 currants I have now.

  • I was just going to say, my 26k seems unwieldy right now. I'm sure they'll give us ways to spend bigger chunks of money soon enough ;-)

  • So the general consensus is, at some point money is easy and hoarding it is worthless.

  • I've wondered if big money would mean expensive or dirt cheap auctions.  Those who want expensive would have the control.

  • I was all happy when I finally got up to 20K...spent 14K of it in a flash. Shoot, I wish I had loads of currants to spend! I love buying stuff...and I'm pretty poor in rl, so it's kinda fun to buy virtual stuff to feed the itch. I think I mostly bought auctions of stuff for projects...and then gems because I couldn't mine because I was down in the projects...yeah, there's a cycle that needs fixin'. If it was possible, the stuff I would love to spend currants on would be decorations or expansions for our homes...and/or a second home in Glitch; would love to have more than one; however, I can see that with limited space for housing that would also suck up others' chances of having a home...but a person can dream, can't she?

ETA: ability to expand own house + multiple teleport landing point would solve my desire for a second home though :)

  • I got to 40000 Sunday and thought I was set for a long time.  I was below 5000 a couple hours later.

  • Yuh, I was thinking that currants alone cannot buy you happiness in Glitch land. My guess is that the lower the level, the greater the need for currants because early quests require that you buy tools and equipment. However, as the level progresses, it becomes easier to earn currants but you have less desire to buy items, either because quests do not require a purchase anymore, or because you can now get materials more cheaply by manufacturing it yourself.

  • I would buy a ton of pigs & butterflies, and various tools I don't have. I'd also give away my smaller bags and get all big ones. And buy a bigger house. Then, I would buy stuff and randomly give it to people if I still had lots left.

  • I would buy as many diamonds and shrine powders as I could, and then spend the rest on snow cones. Talk about skyrocketing in levels.
Posted 20 months ago by Sahara Subscriber! | Permalink
  • Probably sno cones.

Actually, if I bought (and used) ₡1,000,000 worth of sno cones, I'd gain 600,000 XP - and would only BARELY get past clare and en. And I'm in fifth place on the experience leaderboards! Those guys are nuts.

  • In a previous test, I spent all my money on snow cone XP to level up. After a certain point, levels are like extra cash: gloriously useless.

Then I went on a gnome buying spree.

  • I'd use it to organize people and generate efficiencies.

Like ... I'd pay a bunch of people 50k each to orbit the game for a day and just harvest every single tree and put everything they harvested up for auction at fair market value.

That way no one else would ever have to harvest again.

    Stuff like that.

  • ...Let's not get into the tree killing here :)

I don't know, I think I would buy a variety of things. A mountain of food, lots of garden gnomes, tons of earthshakers, and some animal eggs would be top of the list :D
