Glitch is going offline quite often for me

Hi,

in the last two/three days I've often encountered a bug (?) in which the world just disappears all of a sudden. There I am, minding my business as usual, and a white page with a single "!" pops up... then I can get to Glitch's homepage and use it, but not reenter the world for a while (maybe a couple of hours). This problem happens mostly around 1.30 am (Central European Time).

I was wondering whether it's a widespread problem, or just some... glitch in my browser.

  • This often happens from extreme lag on your computer. It's definitely not common, but it will happen if for example you are on a street with 50 other people, and after playing for some time you should reload/refresh the game.

Try this page and see if your connection speed is smooth: www.glitch.com/help/test

At the moment my results are:

That makes it sound a lot like Flash is crashing: maybe try a different browser? When that happens, it won't work again until you restart the browser (which is presumably why it feels like it "takes a few hours").

  • Thanks for the answers... I'm on a 100MB optical connection so I don't think this may be a lag problem :).

Flash malfunction sounds possible, yet all the other Flash instances are working just fine...
