Divine Ideas

Jotted down a few things while playing last test, suppose it would be more helpful if I actually posted them ... then again maybe not , but here goes.

!) The new search function on the maps is awesome but would be even more awesomer if you could search for Landmarks such as Subway entrances , Bureaucratic Hall , Giant Shrines , Vendor types , types of Trees , Rocks ...etc

2) Auction interface could use a category subdirectory so you don't have to keep going back to all auctions every time.

3) Grinder and smelter options of 10-20-30 or all would be more efficient if something like 10-25-50 maybe even 10-50-100 , basically something that relates more to the amount of energy available so it's not so tedious.

4) Map view - It would be really cool if in addition to the street blow-up we could choose the panoramic view which is on the load screen so we can see where the rocks, trees, etc are located on each street.

5) I would like to have an Elemental Handbook - would be cool if you could unlock it with some skill learned.

  • These are really great Ideas. I have a notebook for my Elements but end up hunting round the house for it because someone has used it for something else. Elemental Handbook would be a great addition. Like the idea of it being worked into a quest or skill.

  • As a supplimentary thought - perhaps the auction system could be called G-Bay - Lawyers at the ready perhaps?

  • I like your idea Divine.
#1 I thought about several times and mentioned in the "help chat" during the game, I would think this is something they could implement.

I haven't paid enough attention to #2 BUT #3 is great!  I find myself quickly trying to memorize the image when the street is loading so I know which rocks are mine-able... although with the amount of lag I'm having in each street change, that has been somewhat easier as of late. :(

What do you mean by an Elemental Handbook though?  Is it something for coming elements to make compounds?  Because all the compounds are already listed in the Encyclopedia.

  • I like idea number !, and I also like that its place is marked with the strongest of punctuations! It would save folks the trouble of hovering their mouse pointer over so many little icons looking for a specific shrine/vendor only to realize later that they missed the one that was closest to them. Trying to find the other various landmarks? Good luck! I'd also toss streets with housing onto the pile for searchable landmarks.

  • +1000 for #1) The very first thing I tried to search for in the map was a hardware vendor. I dont really need to be able to search for streets - I can read them on the map. The ability to search for them is just overly convenient (dont get me wrong - I like it). But I hate having to mouse-over every tiny vendor and shrine icon to see where I need to go. Also the bureaucratic hall and subways should be searchable too. I dunno about trees and rocks though - things like that have their general areas and arent too hard to find if you wander into the area.
#2) As the auction area grows (as more people play), yes it will need to be subcategorized (and it does seem as though it's going that way). But as of now, it doesnt seem to get used enough to justify hacking it into small chunks just yet. Any time Ive been in there I hardly have to scroll at all to see every auction and (imo) to add exctra category 'clicks' to the process right now would seem silly. But yes, it will eventually be needed (and i think it's coming).
+50 for #3) OMG YES! I did a lot of mining last week and I was dying for a x50 button on my grinder! I dont think my energy would have supported more than 50 unless I was using nono. How many uses does a fully repaired grinder have? That should be the upper limit button, more than that and the game just refuses.
4&5) I'm not sure what you mean...

  • On the auction thing, nothing that dramatic at the top instead of just saying return to all auctions it would ie look like this (HA !!! I went to go look and they already did this one. If there are cooler devs on this planet I can't find them ) anyway now it looks like this All auctions » Food » Pinch of Salt  The food part wasn't there before. On #4 Just the ability to see the Panorama view, the one on the load screen or that you see when you click on a friends/devs location. So you can tell where the rocks and stuff are to determine ie if someone has already mined it all and prevent wandering around searching for something that isn't there. Not all of the in game objects are on the panorama views yet though so ....#5 Yes the elements/compounds are in the encyclopedia and the wiki and yet I have like 15000 extra red and blue elements and have as yet, only found one compound to make out of just red and blue and nothing and no one can tell me what it is for.

Edited to add: Just bought something in the auction and once you confirm the purchase the current category is still missing from the choices of where to go next .... none-the-less my statement regarding the devs stands :)

  • I'm definitely, definitely down with #3. I end up with 200 things to grind and want to grind 100 not 30...gets a bit weird. What about just being able to enter the number you want to grind or smelt, as with cooking and beakering where you enter the number to be created? That'd be my solution on that one.

  • Personally, I prefer to grind and smelt the smaller amounts... there's a certain xp/reward leakage when done in large volumes. As far as an Element book, I went through and made one of each recipe. It retains it for future reference.
