Yes! I was just wondering if there were any other Glitches doing this. Add me as a writing buddy (username is also bytecrook). It's midnight for me but unfortunately work calls so it's bedtime!
Yup Yup, once more with feeling this year. I just got Write or Die to get me started, I am having trouble moving on it this year - too many shiny distractions!
I'm doing it. I downloaded Scrivener's trial for NaNoWriMo's. I'm hoping that will help me with layout. That's what gave me trouble last time. I'm not familiar with Write or Die but it's a great name. Good Luck NaNo's! (username is T_Foolery)
Write or Die can be set to do things like backspace your work if you stop typing for a set period of time. Real kick up the butt :D I'm Frogglin over there.
I failed so badly when I attempted this the last time. I don't have the heart to try again and fail again lol
Maybe next year.
Good luck to all that go for it :)
I LOVE scrivener. It has literally allowed me to turn a chaotic mess of notes and ideas into working drafts of a complete book. It is well worth checking out.
I would love to but this month for me is NaNoPoWeMo (National November get-your-Portfolio-and-Website-together Month). I'm going to surf on and add to everyone else's creatively productive vibes, though! :)
I got about two weeks in ... and my characters stopped 'talking' to me, hence - no story. (I think part of the problem was also that I was over-thinking things and trying to do too much, have a highly-polished story at the end.)
I'm in the middle of the online Stanford AI Class, otherwise I might take a shot at it.
I have done it in the passed (3 "wins", 2 of which ended up being doubles, and one fail). I can't do it this year but I completely recommend it. It is honestly one of the most pivotal things I have ever done. Changed my life.
Do it. Just write. Characters stop talking to you? Write about a someone you lives next door to them. Write from the POV of their chair. Doesn't matter. Its all about the words!
Oh.. Bless ya Lord Bacon-o.. I'm about to turn off the Glitch and start writing. I'm amazed at how soon the Negative Inner Critic pops up. I'm gonna slay that dude. You are RIGHT. It's all about the doing. Write, right? :)
I've seen this nearly every year and been tempted, but each time been reminded of my inability to concentrate on large projects regardless of medium. As one who's now contentedly restricted herself to short story and poetry (at least for writing), cheering everyone else on :)
