Charades..

Awesome idea.. love it.. except for the fact if nobody guesses the word it's just game over.. the bottle SHOULD be returned and a new game start.. or more than one charge on the bottle.   Again super fun.. just dumb that the bottle poofs if nobody guesses your word.  I also think the timer should be a little longer on it.  Thank you for listening for us wanting more mini games :D!!

  • It's fun for sure, but it should definitely be at least five minutes or so :P

  • I think that it would be helpful to see a timer or to have a growl when there is 30 seconds left, that sort of thing.  I don't think it needs to last 5 minutes, but maybe twice as long as it lasts now? Or maybe we need to get better at picking and guessing words :)

Here are some of the questions we've been finding useful! When you're giving hints, it can help to give the answer to one of these questions even if it hasn't been asked, particularly if you're nearing the time limit.  Try to pick something that people will be able to guess.

    Person, place or thing?
    In-game or IRL?
    Animal, vegetable, or mineral?
Is it a species, a breed, or a stage of growth? (eg, Cat, Siamese, Kitten)
Bigger than breadbox? (also: stove, cellphone, car etc)
    Is it something you use?
Was it made by human hands? Is it crafted by glitchen hands?
Did it exist in the 1800s? (etc)
Do you need a tool to harvest it?
Is it something you put in your inventory?
    Does it stack?
    Can I interact with it?
    Do I wear it?
    What colour is it?

  • it was really simple for me.

    "what are you harvesting?"
    "beans."

there you go, woop, woop, woop, dingdingdingding there's your rainbow.

nobody on the street had seen charades potion yet, so it was fun.

  • I was at a party and someone did the charades potion in it and I guessed the correct answer after they'd given a good hint. I think it depends on your hints. If you know good hints, people will guess it easily, and especially if there's more than one answer (the hint the person used was "you light it" and my answer was candle, but it could have been match, fire, and some others.) and a lot of people who can join in. But if no one guesses it, I think it shouldn't be used.

  • Yeah, I'd like a bit longer timer too, or at least a buff notification so the person knows when to give a stronger hint. Now that I know time can run out, I'll play differently than I did on my first try.

  • +1 for Charades!!!   It's a great way to get Glitchen interacting with each other.   Just love it!

And agree with Saucelah's idea post!  Maybe more time....  or maybe we just need to be aware of how much time we have left.   I suspect folks are picking easy words or phrases because of the time limit... so I'm inclined to agree with extending the time a bit.   AND a "time left" indicator.

    Thanks TS!  :)

  • So one thing we've noticed is that when guessing, if the first part of your guess contains the answer then it is counted as correct.  Mostly, this has been helpful (in excitement, I once guessed an answer with an exclamation point) or amusing (someone won with an answer of "bear f**cker" when the answer was bear) but it can also just be wrong (someone guessed "lightning" when the answer was "light".)

Don't think that it's a bug, but it's something to think about.
