> to get the trophy, you have to be holding all 5 of a set at the same time.
People often say this but it's not true. I've got three different trophies and I never keep more than one music block in inventory, I always donate any more.
It seems to be a bit fickle. I keep all my musicblocks in my cupboard at home. A few weeks ago, I collected the final blue block, but didn't receive the trophy until I returned home and took the other blue blocks out of my cupboard. A day or two ago, I picked up my final red block. That time I received the trophy immediately, even though all my other blocks were back in my cupboard.
Hmm... I am running into the same confusion. Well, I guess I'll just go back to collecting them all and keeping them. Rather than selling them. Thanks for the replies guys. :)
Yah, I've had entire sets in my closet, but don't get the trophy until I put them in my inventory. This is how it was for the 3 trophy's I have so far.
I sell everything off (except my two GNG blocks*) as soon as I acquire it. And I have five of the music block awards. It was fairly late in the game (only a few weeks ago now) before I got any of the awards. It wasn't until I started spending a lot of time in the swamps that I started getting them. So my experience is that there are 'key' music blocks in the collections that can only be obtained in certain regions. I didn't have any of the awards until I started working in the swamps.
(*I have a second GNG block because I bought one as soon as I could afford it at the auction for 10,000 currants in the first week after reset, because I didn't know yet that I would get one from my beta pickle. I did know how rare they were at the time.)
I've had a few of the music block awards without paying any particular attention to what I've got, it doesn't seem to have mattered thus far whether I'm holding (or even still own) all parts of the set.
I accidentally donated one block of a set, and received the trophy while only actually owning 4/5 of that set (but having previously owned the 5th one).
Someone already mentioned it, but I'll repeat it; you don't need to have the musicblocks in your inventory or in your general possession to get the collector trophy. All that needs to happen is that you see the "new item" pop-up for each of the musicblocks.
