Some questions.

The nice people in General Chat were a bit distracted when I asked them, and I never got a straight answer. >.< No offence.

I want to run through the ancestral lanes mostly to farm Paper trees. Would buying the Hairball Flowers be any better than buying Spinach? I'm tired of having to activate Spinich in each area.
How exactly can I "pet and water a wood tree to it's full maturity," exactly? I heard it has to be a new tree, you can Fertalidust it to 3 branches, and then you have to pet and water it to its last stage. Is that true?
Oh yeah, and I am getting Tinkering IV soon... Should I build stuff right away if I want the achievements, or should I wait until later?

Thanks for the help.

  • 1. Hairball flowers last for 5 min vs spinach at a few seconds.
    2. I believe that's what I've heard, but I am not an expert on it.
    3. I'm not quite sure what you mean? Should you wait to repair your things? No. Should you wait to make tools? No, as each level offers different kinds of tools to make.

  • I hear the Hairball Flowers' buff lasts longer, so that might be a good idea.
RE wood tree growth: I'm not sure about the new tree bit, but the rest is true/works; I've done it myself.

  • For #1- depends on how fast you want to go. Hairball Flower lasts longer, but Spinach is faster- so if I just wanna whip through a street, I go with Spinach and basically jump over most of it.

  • If you're after quoins, hairball is much much better than spinach, since you can jump normally.  Spinach does get you to the end of the street faster, so if you believe that none of the dustraps are active it's your better choice.  You can use spinach while on hairball.
2 Hairballs are usually enough to get me through the Ancestral Lands.
