  • Uhh, I'm confused. Girl Scouts is a real trademark. You don't "OWN" it as stated in your title. And what on earth is a draggy doll? The 20c fee isn't very good either. Could you explain the purpose of this... er, group?
Posted 11 months ago by SeerQueen Subscriber! | Permalink
  • I'm...not quite sure what you mean here, sorry.

    Are you selling cookies? *hopeful*

  • I'd join but my clothing and gender do not fit into your strict criteria. And not sure what to say about the 20c fee...

  • Not to sound tacky.....But I am pretty sure you shouldnt be using a registered trademark.

  • Also is it even permitted to charge a membership fee for a group, even as small as 20c?
Posted 11 months ago by Shiromisa Kaya Subscriber! | Permalink
  • Damn, at first, I thought you had a girl scout under your possession.

Then when I read it again, I thought you pwned a girl scout.

And not that I've clicked onto the thread, I'm disappointed </3

    I'd apply, but I'm not a girl.

  • ok. re-writing what i think she means:

First get a sign-in sheet (piece of paper) and write which kind of Girl Scout™ you want to be.
    1)You could be a Daisy
    2)You could be a Brownie
    3)You could be a Junior
And much more (such as Cadette, Senior, and Ambassador).
You can even be a helper.

    You should write:

    Dear Sandrine,
I would like to be a__________________thank you.

Then, send the sheet to me.

    Rules:
-You must be level ten or higher and a female.
-All Girl Scouts™, aside from helpers, must have a Draggy Doll to play with (editor's note: I still don't know what this means).
-You are to wear a cute outfit that matches your membership level.  If you do not wear the appropriate clothing, your membership will be revoked.

    -Clothing suggestions are as follows:
Wear blue for Daisy Level, Brown for Brownie Level, Green for Junior Level

-Cost of membership is 20 Currants
    Thank you

***Editor's note: All this being said, I STILL don't understand (but I had a few spare minutes so, hey, why not?)

  • Beautifully done, Soupie !
Posted 11 months ago by oscarette Subscriber! | Permalink
  • That's awesome, Soupie!

I too am mystified by the Draggy Doll.

The only thing I would add is the part about how there should be "no people with no clothes." This seems important, as it disqualifies a significant number of players.
Posted 11 months ago by Sirentist Subscriber! | Permalink
  • Good point, Sirentist - indeed, it is true that the Girl Scouts™ do not and would not tolerate nude gameplay.

  • Hmmm....

The only thing that I can think of for 'draggy doll' is 'raggy doll'.
Posted 11 months ago by Frandroid Subscriber! | Permalink
  • draggy doll sounds more fun than a raggy doll though.

p.s. This lacks international appeal as I don't recognise most of those 'stages' of girl scout. If I re-translate it into the English Girl Guide system its doesn't make any more sense and I really don't get where the doll thing comes in...

  • The Girl Scouts and the Illuminati are EVERYWHERE!

(Miso, that made me snarf my coffee!)
Posted 11 months ago by Knitomaton Subscriber! | Permalink
  • Twoodle: The three levels are sorted by age. The littlest ones are daisies, the middle ones are brownies, and the oldest are juniors (I suppose; I've never actually been a girl scout so I'm a little iffier on that one). I used to work at Build-a-Bear, and we'd do Girl Scout parties sometimes. :)

...the doll's still a mystery to me, though. Let's get an actual former Girl Scout in to interpret!

Also, going a little serious for a moment, I wanted to link this--some info I found out earlier about causes the Girl Scouts support that are near and dear to my own heart. :)
Posted 11 months ago by Shiromisa Kaya Subscriber! | Permalink
  • My sister was a girl scout and i used to tag along to all the events and stuff, we were called "brownie brothers" (not an official thing). So I think I should still be able to join even though I have male genitalia.

    Also, glitches are genderless.

Also, I am not actually interested.

Also, draggy dolls for sale! 100,000c!!!!

  • There better be cookies soon or someones getting glitched ....
Posted 11 months ago by BlackWolf Subscriber! | Permalink
  • Shiromisa Kaya: To expand on that, pre-kindergarten to kindergarten are Daisy Scouts. 1st grade through 4th is Brownies. 5th grade and above is Junior (I guess, at that level my troop didn't bother with uniforms anymore and we just called ourselves Girl Scouts). I don't actually know if high school girls are their own special kind of scout or not, as I didn't know a single girl who continued past the 7th grade. Once we got past Brownies and had to start doing actual productive stuff in our communities, it became a lot less interesting. I think there was one girl in my high school who stayed in, most likely for scholarship opportunities, but there can't have possibly been a proper troop for that age group for miles and miles.

"Draggy doll" means absolutely nothing to me as a former Scout.
Posted 11 months ago by HeyHeyHolly Subscriber! | Permalink
  •  HeyHeyHolly: In 8th grade we had a Girl Scout troop that was exclusively for international students in my school.  Common activities were baking cookies, making souvenirs, decorations, etc-- stereotypical teenage girl stuff but nothing I would normally associate with GS (no selling cookies, no field trips, no deep discussions).  Not sure if that's typical for that age group or if they thought that having a troop just for ESL girls was good enough (which I guess it kind of was).
