On holiday so am limited to the use of Internet...
...
... and came online to find out that it took one third of my energy to teleport home from the Deeps?
I think it's good. I mean, if someone who has a 2000 energy gauge uses up 50 energy teleporting, it hardly matters. So it means everyone is on a level playing field.
Really? People need to teleport two streets away?
Maybe it is because I live in a public transport town in the real world, but that seems reedunkulous. (Note: I used to live in Los Angeles... and that town is reedunkulous.)
I'm a fan of anything that creates energy, mood, and currant sinks :) I kinda feel like we have it too easy now. I'm all for teleportation costing a percentage of our total energy. Little things like that here or there add up and make it necessary to play the game more carefully/creatively.
Ok, fine, 3-6 streets then. Please note: Glitchen don't need to walk for exercise.
I hope TP5 significantly reduces the energy cost, since I have nascent plans to help develop Ur's as yet non-existent tourism industry. I would like to do teleportation tours of UR in various flavors.
I have yet to follow single Glitch even from street to street much less via teleportation. But I do love the idea of running tours!
"Need paper? Visit all of the paper trees!"
"Looking to do the crab achievement? Visit all of the crabs!"
Yep--there are lots of possibilities. I do wish that each region had more area-specific items (especially food items), but hopefully that is coming.
but for sure resource-centered tours, grand tour of Ur, tour of homes, just to start.
it would be very cool if you could purchase licenses for teleportation at low cost, but only for a specified series of stops--so you build tours that at a value that can be realistically re-sold.
tube is the winner. it will cost you 50 currents and you can go round and round as long as you want. i have tried that :-)) Just thinking. It may well be the best place for endless parties
How cool would it be to have our Glitch characters riding bikes!
Although it might just be weird and awkward.
Like when the Muppets rode their bikes in 'The Great Muppet Caper'.
Would love to have vehicles - bikes, rollerskates, skateboards, scooters, cars, horses...
Yes, the teleportation changes were a shock. But can appreciate that it is a percentage of your energy now, and as you build the skills it is less and less energy expended. Have to agree with leah, it does require you to figure out how to strategize how you want to play the game. Just wish there had been a warning that it had changed instead of thinking it was the normal 50 energy, and getting shocked because I wasn't paying attention the first time I teleported and was charged the different energy rate (thank goodness I had already completed Teleportation II before I did!).
We had a subway party, of sorts, at the end of a test a few tests ago. We discovered that the largest number of players we could get onto a single instance of a train is ten. Parties in subway stations might be a better option, though there's not much room. I still vote for the Alakol model houses; the party at the Navran Dissent house at the end of the last test was a lot of fun.
