  • *looks at stocked cupboard* *sigh* still, at least I have a chance of hitting the tincture and potion badges now. Good move TS.

  • Awesome. Although I am still wondering why Dung Kicker drops requires 50 guano per potion when it takes only 30 guano to make a 15 herb plot grow at it's fastest rate.  The percentage as it stands now seems especially punitive.

Dung Kicker has 5 uses, so you're actually only spending 10 guano per plot per use!

Also I love this. Yessssss. Potionssssss. Come to me, my pretties......

  • Violet Faulds: There are 5 doses in Dung Kicker Drops.

5 * 15 = 75, so you save 25 guano by using the potion (if applied to 15 plot gardens every time).

  • Woah... this is great information. Thanks, TS! Maybe I'm just a BetaNerd for enjoying adjustments such as this (and as I am usually a "detest-surprises/resistant-to-change" flavor of person, it's a huge compliment to you guys that I'm actually excited about stuff like this and not hiding in a corner shaking uncontrollably).=D

  • Thanks a lot! Have you applied this kind of analysis to other things like food and ingots? Maybe I'm wrong but my impression has always been that its more profitable just to sell the raw materials than it is to make stuff.

  • Thanks, Mart, for providing the comparison data. Now I don't have to scratch out before/after numbers on the back of an envelope---lol. I think what TS worked out is much more balanced and harmonious......and that makes the giants happy, and when they are happy, we glitchen are happy too!
Posted 86 days ago by GreyGoose Subscriber! | Permalink
  • Ah, that explains why almost every potion in my tower sold out suddenly, after months of no interest. I had priced them just slightly over their tool vendor resale.

  • Thanks so much for not nerfing the shucking but taking everyone's comments into account and focusing on reducing the seed price!  Also thanks for all the adjustments to the essences and potions...seems very reasonable, and I can't wait to try out some of the ones I've not bothered with because it seemed like too much work before.  Sounds much more balanced now...(((big hugs)))

  • As everyone else said, thank you for announcing this before hand, thank you for allowing discussion and thank you for actually taking that discussion into consideration. I really have nothing negative to say about this patch, it was documented well, explained well and it was well deserved. I won't say that there aren't more unintended consequences (Herb potions now really having no use due to cost vs. profit, guano about to take a huge crash, etc.) but that was really all I asked for, discussion. So great job TS, and as you can see by the mostly positive response, you should absolutely continue to do this for major changes.

  • Thanks for waiting until I had built up my currants again...was hoping to do it in time to buy a Rube potato to go with my lovely spigot, but oh well, missed out on those...now, I have them for the next great opportunity. And I'm just happy the shucking didn't get nerfed.  Now to learn potion making to try some new things!  It was indeed getting old just growing and harvesting YCF...and I had only been doing it for about month...enjoying now growing all sorts of different herbs in my backyard...such lovely colors.

  • Great job at handling this entire issue TS. This could have caused an uproar among the older players. I think the way you handled this should be studied by other game developers.
I mean, seriously, talk about customer service and moving forward with the game at the same time. Who else would know how to do this?

    Again, great job.

  • I think you all at TS has thought very well of your clients and saw what could very easily become greed.I truly loved just learning about this great source of fattening up my much depleted current bank but love that now maybe the thieves will stop coming in the night and harvesting all my hard work on the front yard.I know only too well these front yards are a source of bad feelings. If you dare leave them full of herb and then go to sleep you  wake with nothing but to hoe hoe hoe.(whatcha gonna do ) haha.Anyhow if folks just investigate the other seeds reward you  will be very close to yc.try them out at the vender to see which are very much the same in return.

  • I have been taking advantage of the Yellow Crumb loophole for some time now...
I'm actually glad it's been closed and fixed, and that the potions are so much more accessible now.
Less currants for me, more fun for all.
    Win!

  • " now maybe the thieves will stop coming in the night and harvesting all my hard work on the front yard."

Just put crop gardens on your home street. No-one will touch them and you'll have them all to yourself, lol! :D

  • Charades Potion is still yellow color, even thou there's no more Yellow Crumb Flower in it anymore ;)

and anyway, great changes, thank you all so much. now it will be even easier to make all the stuff that I already make like crazy :D

  • Alchemy is the science where all the middle steps are MAGIC! So yellow charades come from purple :)

Besides, it's what's on the inside that counts and purple is all fun in a short dress.

    Also, thanks TS.

  • The thought of making Essence of Purple still makes me queasy (Getting up the oomph to make Tangy Sauce? Well, that'll keep my glitchen off tha drugs!) but HUZZAH for Rainbow Juice Reinvention! I see a few dozen of those in my immediate future.

As for my fortune? Diversification works every single time. Now, if we only had piggy banking and croc credit.
Posted 86 days ago by Mistress*of*Fishies Subscriber! | Permalink
  • It occured to me that is Tangy Sauce gets rebalanced [stoot has said cooking recipies will be], and ends ups with a higher currant value, it will end up *nerfing* this spiffy new purple potion.

If Tangy gets a rebalanced by thinning the requirements it would leave the potion at its current profit level.
