Larger 'Specialized Bags'

I'm sure there has been a post about this before, but just in case wouldn't it be far better, if 'specialized bags' such as toolbox, spice rack ect. Contain more slots then a generic bigger bag? Say 20 slots compared to 16? With the main drawback being you can only store certain items. ie, raw food in a produce bag, tools in a toolbox ect.

  • I'd love to see a bag just for rocks. Maybe a "mine cart" or a "prospector's pack"?

  • A produce bag is my personal favourite, just for 'raw' ingredients such as corn, eggs, meat, apples. That sorta thing, would go a long way towards organizing our bags and cooking supplies. But i do like the idea of a bag for rocks, perhaps, the bag also increases the stack size? So instead of 50, maybe 100?

  • I just want to know why toolboxes cost more than bigger bags while still only containing the same 16 slots. This makes them absolutely pointless when you can save some money and just buy another bigger bag that can hold ANY item (except elements).

  • I was just about to post the same question. I can find no reason to buy a toolbox when I can buy a bigger bag instead and give it the name "Toolbox"

  • It is ridiculous, hence why I made the topic, so that hopefully, a dev will see the issue and patch the problem :)

  • Yes, I feel like an idiot for buying a toolbox.  I was expecting it to have more than 16 slots.

  • Not all the spices can fit in the spice rack. Wtf is that?  so lame

  • "Not all the spices can fit in the spice rack."
I'm pretty sure they can so long as you only have at most 1 stack of each. Having said that, the more efficient use of space is just to fill it with allspice and make anything else only when you need it. 16*250 allspice is a lot of allspice.

  • Well, to get your spice collector badge, you need to use the verbs on allspice as well as all the 'made' spices.  So I'd like to see the spice rack hold all the spices plus allspice.  Actually, I'd like to see the spice rack hold my spice grinder, one stack of allspice, and all the spices.

Same for blender, same for grinder, etc.  A tool space, a raw materials space, and a space for each product that can be made.

  • @Windborn This is exactly the kind of idea i'd like to see in Glitch.

Large Spice Bags, Raw Food Bag (My personal favourite), metals/rock bag (looking after all my ingots and ore can be tiresome at times, and even though there are few metals/rocks it would be handy to have 3-4 stacks of each in a single bag) and so on.

  • I think the idea behind the specialized item bags is that they automatically sort your items for you, and that is the convenience you're paying for. I personally think they're totally worth it because I hate when I find tons of rocks and cherries and spice in my dedicated tool bag. The toolbox is 100% worth it for me.

  • @Devers I agree with you opinion to a point, but at the same time, even if you do have a toolbox (I do) to automatically sort your items, wouldn't it be FAR FAR more useful if you could place all your tools in that one bag.

Perhaps, you could pay an even larger price for that privilege, say 5000 currants to be able to store all items in a single bag.

Edit: Because at this time, i have enough tools to fill almost 2 whole toolboxes, which frankly, is a hell of alot of organizing to do, and can be painful, if you need to sort thru your bags just to find that, one blender.
