Cubimal Box Auctions

Maybe someone could explain to me preferably someone doing it now why your putting them on at more expesive than it is to purchase from a vendor?

I understand that if u get one from the rube and dont want it; sell it on great idea! but a grand more than vendors, really?

The only reason i can possible think of is to scam people that dont know where to purchase them from, so yea my question really is, is it just for greed?

  • Some of them are pretty rare so that might be a reason.  Some players have spent thousands trying to get a specific Cubie with no luck.

  • Some people might be too lazy to walk to a vendor?

  • It's not rarity, since you don't know before you open what kind of cubimal you get.  Lots of auction items are marked up from vendor prices, and lots of people are willing to pay.  If they aren't, you're out your auction fee, so you don't want to jack prices up out of range.

  • Since the reset, there have been 451 cubimals auctioned with an average cost of: 4509.29 (490.71 less than the going rate).
With that, you can deduct that long term, it is actually cheaper than the going rate.

  • I believe people have the right to list an item they own for what ever price they choose. It is their property after all. With that being said, I would hope most people have the common sense to at least know what they are buying. There is a certain convenience with buying from auction rather then tracking down a toy vendor. There is no way to tell what is inside a cubimal box until it is opened, so buying it from a vendor or from another player doesn't matter.

I think I find it more annoying we cannot auction opened cubimals, I think its ridiculous at 5,000 a pop we do not have the right to directly sell them. It makes it much harder to complete a set if we have no organized market to buy, sell, and trade opened ones.

  • If someone REEEEALLLY wants one in order to donate it to a shrine, they can buy it at auction rather than travel to the nearest toys vendor.

that's a bit silly. you can usually go to the vendor on the street and buy 5k worth of "stuff" to donate, more quickly than buying at auction, even.
