Humbaba

Did you know that Humbaba REALLY likes Music Blocks? and she will give you over 100 favor points for one! I have been trying for sooo long to get enough favor points for an emblem, I was so glad to find something she likes!
P.S. If you have any suggestions about other ways to get more favour points with Humbaba, please comment them.

  • Hey. I don't think it matters if the shrine "likes" the items you give it. Its all based on an algorithm.
    (from the glitch wiki)

favor points = market worth x 0.1 (rounded to the nearest value)

For example, a cherry is worth 1 currant and would generate 0.1 favor. A donation of 1 to 4 cherries is rounded down to 0 favor. A donation of 5 cherries has a favor value of 0.5, which is rounded up to 1 favor. A stack of 250 cherries is worth 250 currants, which results in 25 favor.

I always dump my musicblocks in shrines (I squeeze ALOT of chickens and have a ton of extras) so I normally get about the same I guess. . .

  • Well thanks, i guess

  • Idk what more you wanted out of that. I'm not in game so I can't double check and be 100% that that is the way it works considering I didn't create the game but according to the wiki and in game experience shrines don't have different tastes except, the obvious, they all like more expensive items.

  • I going to try to dump a music box at Humbaba shrine next time I log in.

Btw, does squeezing chickens really have a high rate of music box drops.  I have AH6, and it took me quite a while before a music box popped out.

Or perhaps it's way faster at AH7?  How does squeezing chickens at AH7 compare to tree harvesting at G7, music box-wise.

  • Yes, its all to so with the currant value of an item. The actual 'what' that it is  is irrelevant to Humbaba and any of the other Giants.

So for 100 points you need to items to the value of 1000 currants.

Or with Fairly Hallowed Shrine Powder items to the value of 500 currants

Or with Extremely Hallowed Shrine Powder 330 currants

Some of the music blocks are worth over 330 currants so with EHSP would give you more than the 100 favour points you are looking for

  • I'm only at AK VI and G3
But I know I get quite a few music blocks from squeezing chickens. I rarely ever get them from trees. . .
I had to name a new bag "donatables" to separate out the musicblocks I want to keep and the ones I want to throw into the nearest shrine to keep up. . . On a good day of chicken squeezing (3-5 stacks of grains) I'll normally end up with 10+ musicblocks. Idk maybe I'm just lucky.

Or the chickens like my squeezing O.o

  • Yes, AK7 will get you more music blocks from chickens.

Also, note that different music blocks have different values, you must have donated a rare one if you got a lot of favor for it. Check the value by clicking on it or in the encyclopedia.

  • I just threw a 400c music box into a Humbaba shrine.

"Your favor with Humbaba has increased by 40! You gain 96 xp and gain 40 mood."

    Not 100 favor, sadly.

I'll try squeezing more chickens for music boxes.

  • If you had used Extremely Hallowed SHrine Powder before you dumped that 400c music box into the shrine, you would have gotten 120 FAVOR!!

  • Extremely Hallowed Shrine Powder is better used with item stacks. This way you'd be getting thousands of favor points (if your favor limit is high enough) with 1 EHSP instead of having to use multiple EHSP for single item stacks like Musicblocks.

  • I remember when I began learning about donating, read about giants giving more item for certain stuff and really confused me. Thought you'll have to donate only mining related stuff to zille to get an incredible high bonus.

At the end it's just 10% of value.

  • re: EHSP, if you donate at a shrine using the menu, not drag&drop, you can donate multiples of the same musicblock, even though they don't stack in a bag. So if I have 3 or 4  of one block,  I'll use shrine powder, click the shrine & 'donate' - then from the pop up menu I can give all of them like a stack.   Works for anything of course; you can donate multiple stacks of meat, or 1000 rocks if you have them.

  • Here is a pretty good discussion on donations http://www.glitch.com/forum/general/9667/

  • @oscarette Works with drag-and-drop as well. If you have multiple identical music blocks and drag one to a shrine, it will ask how many to donate.
(I once used this feature to accidently donate my focusing orb. I had found a spare in ancestral lands and was going to donate that one. When I got the pop-up to select one or two I thought for a second "Wow, did I have two spares" and donated both ...)

  • I feel so stupid :(
Posted 12 months ago by Ebodragon Subscriber! | Permalink
  • Ebodragon, you should absolutely not feel stupid.

  • Agreed, no reason to feel stupid. Nobody knows everything about game mechanics when we start out, takes time to figure it out.

Plus, it would actually have been fun if the giants had preferred items instead of just giving 10% for everything!
    More magic, less math.
