More variety of flora & fauna.

I ventured way, way out to Xalanga, and was *really* disappointed that:

- It's just the same selection of chickens & butterflies.
- It's the same trees.

So, basically, the background is different and that's it.  There needs to be way, way, more variety in flora & fauna to make the game compelling in the long term.  I spent a couple hours walking all the way out there to be "rewarded" by something interesting (new items, new fruits, new meat, new recipes based on that stuff, etc.)  Anything that would motivate me to go back.  I did the weird Ancient DNA questy thing (I had no idea what was going on) and that was a huge letdown.  I got lots of great drinks by knocking over signs, and that's about it.

Giraffes, Elephants, Lions, Tigers, Baobab trees, cactus, grasslands, meercats, etc.  All this stuff should be out there, and should yield new, valuable items/ingredients and knowledge that can be used/taken back to Groddle and some money could be made.

I'm not feeling the "Trading" vibe in Glitch.  I can auction stuff, but that's not the same as having a selection of far away places where some items/supplies are bountiful, and others are scarce and valuable.  I should be able to grow something "rare" in my back yard that's not possible to grow elsewhere, and then take these items to be given/donated/sold to other players.

  • The devs have said that different animals will come in the future, but I don't think it's a top priority so it may be awhile. I LOVE the idea of meercats, though! They would fit in very well with the nostalgia areas, poking their little heads up out of the ground... maybe we could get something from them if we're quick enough to catch them before the flit back down underground again (I don't know what--something unique to that animal).

The most interesting thing about the nostalgia areas is the different types of projects that are available there, but otherwise the only reason I see to visit them is for the very generous quoins (you can fill up on energy REAL quick there!). I hope that changes, as more things are added, because the nostalgia areas are HUGE.... and only getting larger. I suggested in a different thread a while ago that the area have resources that are only available there to encourage people to visit them.

It's true the "auction" is really a "marketplace". There should be more interesting items you can make in the future (like potions), so maybe that will help spice up the auction a bit more for you. I don't know if these plans are still in the works, but the devs said a long time ago that they were going to get rid of the street vendors. If that happens, it will make the auctions way more valuable.
