No Homes for Sale in Groddle!!!

I know new houses are on the way... but this makes me sad for new players.

Any time y'all want to open up housing in Anakol, I'd be happy to free up one of those Groddle homes! :)

  • Well we're all resetting eventually, anyway, haha. I'm wondering... can you own two homes? Three? Etc.

  • Well, Stoot's already said we'll eventually have the ability to add to our homes.... new rooms... new gardens...   But the view in Anakol is sweet!!!  :)

  • Cerulean, I'm 99% sure you can't, but that's been suggested a few times in the subscriber thread as a perk for subscribing.

Yeah, I have a Groddle Meadow home right now, but when we reset I think I'll try something different so I can have as many different experiences as possible. I'm kind of hoping that they'll change the design that's sitting in the realty section though...there's a reason why nearly all the houses available have the same design, lol.

  • Well, if players are "voting with their pocketbooks" it's pretty clear that the sunnier housing in Groddle is preferable to the gloomier look of Shimla, Jethimadh, and Chakra. Having lived in every hub, I have to agree. I like the brighter spaces myself. I'm glad I was able to scoop up a Meadow house.

  • Well, I voted with my pocketbook in the following sense:

When I bought a house, among the ones I could afford, lots in Groddle had animals/trees left in them by players who moved to other areas.  So, I picked the best deal, and now it would be a pain to move, so that was that.

  • I like my Shimla house but I miss the garden and tree patches. Can I have a bubble tree as a pot plant please? (In fact while you're at it I'll have one for my RL house too!)

  • +1 for houses in Anakol soon please.

  • Thanks Hburger, I thought I had seen something on those lines but couldn't find it.

Hope there are some bigger ones, with more patches and space.

I love the look of Anakol, the wide vistas and the sea and mountains.  Can't wait!

  • I love the view too!  i suspect when the housing opens there I will be too slow to buy and it will be Sold out almost immediately.  Anyone interested in a tree house with lots of livestock?

  • I also love my little tree house in the Forest. I will be sad when the reset happens.

  • I've gathered everything out of my house to prep for my impending move to Anakol. *crosses fingers*

  • A lot of homes have stairs which I can't seem to climb, makes me feel like I'm 105 years old in RT.  I guess in Glitch time it would make feel like 555 glitch years old.

This disadvantage makes me able to live in houses that are one story.  Or only grow spinach for life.  lol

  • I feel your pain, Julie. I grew up before sidescrollers, and I'm often challenged trying to climb things. I'm just hoping the other people on the street don't notice my little circle bouncing up and down on the map. ;)

  • On the Marrakesh housing signpost,i saw 5 blank spaces, this is where the devs put in the housing blocks ( well they did last time). I can't speak for Estevan or Marylpole as i didn't look, but i'm just guessing that there is more spaces for houses in the Meadows, thats if you haven't all flown to Alakol..lol

  • I would be delighted with an Alakol house - I had a Groddle Meadow house and traded it for a Shimla house because I preferred the darker hues and moodier look.  The Alakol houses seem like a nice in-between for those of us who like our sunlight muted.
Posted 19 months ago by jasbo Subscriber! | Permalink
  • @Joo - right, Marylpole has several blank spaces too.

  • LOL...and this after someone was complaining in another thread that people didn't by the cheaper homes...guess they do if Groddle is sold out...hmmm....

Personally...I'm staying in the Meadows until there is a sandy resort beach house offered... The others look too gloomy, and frankly Alakol looks too cold to me...I need sun, sand, sea and a tasty umbrella drink...

And yes, it appears the blank spaces are options for additional streets on the signs...still quite a few blank spaces open...and plenty of streets where future developments could spring up, I'm sure...

  • I'm tempted by Alakol if we get housing there, but I think whoever said it'll sell out like crazy is probably right. I LOVE my cave house in Tallish Crest though. I'll probably stay put. I like being able to have an eggplant tree AND other trees types and a garden. The Meadow houses do have huge yards I noticed at a party...but I think I like all the other housing exactly because they do not look like real homes. My thinking is...well, the game isn't like real life; why have a house that looks semi-realistic? :)
Posted 19 months ago by RM Subscriber! | Permalink
  • I'm cool with the idea to not have them look like real houses...but keep some light and bright and fun like the Meadow homes. On that line...can I have a huge sand castle on a beach?!  (Or heck, just give me a big ol' conch shell for a house!)  Shells for furniture, visits from the crab...I sure hope in future homes we get to interact with the furniture.  I currently have a hammock in my house, that I'd love to relax in...

  • I agree with Beachy!  I'm a meadows, sun, flowery type girl myself.  But I have only had 2 tests and in that amount of time I was able to save up 9k and purchase my favorite house in the meadows.  I actually like the houses that look realistic -- although I think it would be cool to have hobbit houses.  A house in a meadow that is inside a hill like in the movie.  That would be really cute and allow people to have a house in the pretty flowery sunny meadows without having it look like a real house.

I think there is a lot of improvement to be done with the houses.  There are too few different types, and unless you are in the Groddle area they all are super depressing.  I also agree that we should be able to own more than one house, so that you can have a summer home in a bright fun area and a pretty twilight home with fireflies and such.  I would consider moving to another area if the houses weren't so glim and depressing.  They can be cool and still look pretty.  Maybe more of a summer-night theme then a bland dull colored theme.

  • I sold my BIG Leeteg Mews house in Shimla after they moved the maps around. I now have a nice house in Marrakesh but I'm really looking looking forward to the Alakol houses, especially if I'll be able to upgrade it to a bigger space at some point.

  • I like all the houses for different reasons. Love my Mario house for sentimental reasons, although, a Zelda house would be neat. I would love the option to be able to buy multiple homes, they all have a role to play. Beachy.. girl, you didn't tell me you had a hammock, will bring cosmo's and..no, not you Sylvester, shut up already..darn cat, yeah so where was I? Oh yeah, hammocks and cosmo's, no wonder I forgot, your cosmo's are legendary...

  • Gasp! This is depressing! As a noob, my next goal was to make enough currants to buy a home in Groddle Meadow, and now that dream is dashed. :(

Anakol does look quite lovely though (like a Japanese coast, with sakura trees), but I hope I've made enough money by the time it opens to snatch up a home before everyone else does! :)

  • They do regularly open new residential streets so just keep an eye out.

  • Lush, they recently opened new streets throughout the game (just a test or two ago), to include more streets in the Meadow - which is how I was finally able to purchase one since they were sold out by the time I was ready to start thinking about a real house a while ago.  There is a good chance that since things are filling up fast, they may open some more the next test or two...just keep your eyes peeled.  Also, if they open more up new houses in areas like Alakol, I suspect many will be sold in the Meadow to purchase one in the new area. So, scan the real estate listings regularly, since you never know when stuff will open up from people selling their homes.  You'd think with the popularity of the Meadow, they will realize they may need to create many more new neighborhoods there.  While I was roaming other areas this past test, there were quite a few streets in other locations where only one house out of 10-12 were sold...there seems to be an imbalance in the available real estate in the game.  I'm sure they will be working to get this balanced out.

  • I wouldn't mind seeing a new housing area in Footlands Heath in the Meadow.

I like the 3 garden areas in the Alakol houses. But if they're not having a patch for Egg Plants in those houses, I'll be disappointed.

  • Second the suggestion to scan the real estate listings regularly.  I was feeling sad that by the time I could afford a bigger house in the meadow there weren't any available, and then by the next test there was, so just keep an eye out.

I definitely prefer the sunny cheery atmosphere, even though I'd like an eggplant, I'm not willing to move into a glum place to get it.  (No reference to the lovely glum pudding!)  ;)

  • I actually love the funky design of the houses that are available in the bog areas, but didn't move there for the simple reason that they didn't have gardens where you could plant crops.

I started out in a forest house which was great value for currants - plenty of space for crops and 3 patches. I only moved to the meadow (with difficulty because of meadow shortage) because I wanted a bigger cabinet and more patches and a bigger place - and to be nearer to a friend who also relocated to the new block. I would have very happily stayed in the forest if I could have upgraded there, but all the forest houses were exactly the same size. I do enjoy living in Meadows - and there is the added bonus that since they moved Shimla Mirch, I now have 2 subway stops to choose from both only 2 streets away - but, all the mild greenness can get a bit dull :)

  • I am dreaming of houses in Uralia zzzzz.....crystal shiny, blue....zzzzzz But love my house in Marrakes meadow too! Great garden!

  • I want a house in either Uralia or Shimla, but only if I can have a garden.

Until then, I'm staying in Marrakesh.

  • I wonder why forest and cave houses are the smallest ones hence the cheapest. It feels like one should start from the bottom of the housing ladder, i.e. a tree house, then slowly upgrade to a Shimla one. But the mirky and depressing environment of Shimla is not my cup of tea. I wish to be able to progress and stay in my forest and be able to buy a spacious tree house, same as in Shimla.

  • Fleep :)

I want to live in Ix, please, preferably in the Halloween-y street some devstalkers spotted a couple of weeks ago.  Barring that, being able to expand our homes would be terrific.  Like Rascalmom, I like my Tallish Crest house, but I'd like more patches, more storage, maybe another room, some cave paintings, a barnacle or six...

  • I love the tallish crest houses as well. I just hope they get bigger! Alakol will be my new home if the houses there have dark patches ...

Posted 19 months ago by b3achy Subscriber! | Permalink
  • no good houses left in alakol either. i wonder if the devs might consider changing the ratio of big to small houses there?  (or maybe i'm just getting a little over excited)
Posted 19 months ago by IxÆoN Subscriber! | Permalink
  • Haha drats, I was at work when the game opened! With the Alakol craze though, I was able to score a 1,000-currant home in Louise Pasture Villas! Now I have 324 currants to my name. (Noob moment: how DO you make good money in Glitch?!)
Posted 19 months ago by Lush Subscriber! | Permalink
  • The devs are opening up new housing on a fairly regular basis now, so just get your belongings in order and be ready to sell your house at any time.

As far as making money, mining is the default activity to make currants, but I think gardening might be able to compete as well, especially if you use the public gardens.
