Furniture Pricing

Here's the link, before I forget: goo.gl/6LBGD

This is what happens when I can't sleep. Anyway - I don't want to say too much, except

1) This is completely an estimate, I probably won't remember how I came to these numbers tomorrow, but I'll try to answer any questions
2) Prices are a combination of material goods, energy and fuel costs, and a markup for skill learning/time
3) I based the markup off the SDB and Wall Segments, since that's all the pricing we have. I came to a conclusion that about 300% markup sounds pretty good, but I'm also tired.
4) Fiber is difficult to price. You can sell it to a vendor for 1 current, but the only auctions are around 25 per. I've left it at 5 currants for now, but that is subject to change

Send me a message if you find any errors, but I probably won't do a whole lot more with this. I'm open to making any of this furniture at the prices on the table, so send me a message if you're interested in that as well.

  • Nice, so my estimation for a decent price for SDBs was spot-on, in that case, time to make a forum post.

  • Awesome! I've been wanting to offer up my services when folks ask for furniture but had no idea how to start pricing. This is great!

  • The only reason we're seeing 300% markup is because you can't auction furniture yet, so the marketplace isn't fluid.   Whenever there is a  barrier to trading, prices rise.

  • Xupa, when you wake up and have time to get back to the spread sheet, would you tighten up the column width?  It would be nice to view all the info in a single screen, without so much white space.

  • On the final column, I'd use the number setting to round to the nearest whole currant.
Otherwise great chart; strong work, and thank you.

  • I've made the few changes as suggested, thanks for the comments!

  • Great spreadsheet!

Perhaps something to consider might be usefulness of/demand for an item.  For example, it seems odd that someone would pay a 300% markup for a table decoration (not very functional), when there's only a 200% markup for wall segments, which have a much more tangible use. Not sure how that might factor in, but it's something that crossed my mind.

I love geeking out about the Glitch economy XD

  • @Aurora - I completely agree. I started with a baseline of what current demands were for the two products I had pricing to get feedback. If anything else, at least there's a baseline and we can tweak as necessary :)

EDIT - I would like to point out that the Wall Segments are most likely underpriced. I'd probably raise them to $12K-$15K if I were in charge ;)
