Rook Attacks are too easy, right?

- 6 months ago: You entered a street attacked by Rook, got your screen scratched, multiple stun attempts failed, lots of donations, multiple higher level players on screen busting their Focusing Orbs, 5 - 10 minutes to defeat a single attack, a real challenge.

- Now you step on the street, stun, donate some stuff, attack over, whatever.

I think a tweak is at hand to make it challenging again, or is it easier on purpose now?

  • It's the numbers I think.  Every time I've seen the Rook attack the screen, there were only a few people, maybe a dozen there at the most.  In fact, sometimes I've not reported them and only mentioned it to friends so I could get scratched. 

    Around 30 - 40 people at an attack and each phase is over rather quickly.  And the client struggles to render everyone and everything they are doing.  And then my computer cries.

  • Hmmm... same problem as old street projects, I see. Maybe there is a way to make instanced Rook Attacks.

  • Having just participated in my first rook attack this morning, it felt more like the first option than the second. There were a lot of failed stun attempts. At first, everybody's priority was reviving the animals and trees before the attack had officially started, so (at least in the part of the street I was on) I couldn't get anyone to help me with a stun attempt.

    And then, by the time anyone was coordinated enough to focus on the rook, there were so many people that there were more orbs being overloaded than actually attacking.

  • I love the idea of the Rook attacks, but every time I try to participate, it seems like there are 20-40 people involved, and the lag is so bad that I sometimes can't even manage to donate. :c  But I bet TS has some ideas up their sleeves with regard to the Rook.  Fingers crossed!

  • There should probably be like, the Rook puts some strange barrier at the street's exits/entrances after 5 people are there. So like, the sign that leads to that street suddenly has a shadowy aura.

  • I gave up on rook attacks long ago. Tried to attend one recently and tried to drag and drop stuff from my bag in to the shrine. I just ended up dumping all my stuff all over the street.
    Total fail.
    Yes rook attacks need to be instanced, with a maximum number attending to 1, avoid lag and 2, allow people to take part propperly. They were a great idea when the game was young but they really don't scale.
    Also wanted to use my rook balm and that wouldn't work either.
