No-No and the Admixer

I am a relatively new Glitch having only existed for less than 2 weeks. Having not read any guides or this forum ahead of time, I chose a path of mining and alchemy because it sounded interesting to me. So far, I enjoy the concept of mining and mixing compounds and making powders. The biggest killer? Crushing ore.

Mining is energy intesive, but I have had no problems being able to afford food from the auction to support it. But when it comes to crushing ore, the ends just didn't seem to justify the costs. Flaming Humbadas were nice, but since they fixed the bug, 30 sec just isn't enough time. And there is still the wear and tear on the pick and grinder to deal with. Now it feels like No-No is the way to go.

My play time is generally short, and I know it will be a new day before I will be able to logon again. No-No gives me the ability to not only crush all the ore I need, but also to repair all my tools afterwards. So I need to squish a few grapes before I logout; I just don't see a downside.

Any other powder makers out there who are No-No junkies as well? If not, how do you survive your day?

  • I do agree with you I think crushing ore can be very expensive and energy draining and flamings are expensive. I normally just wait a few mins until it's a new game day but soon I may start using no-no when I get the skill. Because it's also getting you closer to the badges of death! And also shootsin if you didn't know you can get a badge for being on a no-no rush for 11 minutes. :)

  • www.glitch.com/forum/genera... just found it here in the forums. If it work then it would be great for new glitches. Just thought I'd leave it here for you.

  • I don't use it, but even I made one envelope, so as to reap the XP from finding a new item (I also made sneezing powder and sparkle dust for the same reason).

  • Totally a No-No junkie! The only sane way of smelting all the metal I mine and refining ore. I don't know what I would do without No-No.

  • I admit that I'm a No-no powder user [>_< It's like I'm admitting that I'm a drug user]. But sometimes I don't use it due to INSTANT DEATH :)

How do I survive? I actually took the path of Animal Kinship first then Cheffery 1 so I could make "Hashes". Then, I took Mining and Alchemy path so I could earn money and make powders :D

Before mining some Sparkly Rocks, I make sure that I have dozens of Hashes stored in my bags or bring no-no powders. [Sometimes I bring 100+ Hashes]. I don't usually wait for the next day for my energy to be full coz I'm impatient. And yeah I agree about the Flaming Humbabas, it's a bit expensive.

Well, that's how I live in Glitch :)) Now I'm taking teleportation for easy travelling :D

  • Yeah, I eat a lot of food when out mining, but at the end of the day when you have hundreds of chunks to crush, a broken fancy pick and a worn down grand ol' grinder, you just need a little boost. One little No-No and all those problems just go away.

Now I sound like a drug dealer. I'm LMAO as I'm writing this!

  • The downside to No-No is not getting XP for the grinding.  I used to grind that way but now I can make my own humbabas and grinder repair isn't bad with tinkering III.  I still get 200 chunks of ore with a humbaba so it's worth 800 energy per cocktail.

  • I occasionally use no-no to grind, but mostly I just eat lots of food for the energy needed.  It helps to have Remote Herdkeeping and 11 each of butterflies and piggies.  But one can run into the daily eating limit, too.  In case you've never encountered that one, there is a fixed daily limit on how much energy you can get from eating food.  Once you hit that you're kind of stuck.  Usually that happens late in the day, which is the proper time to do no-no.

But I mostly do no-no for cheese making.

  • A mixed drink that grants 30 seconds or so of non-energy comsuming grinding.
