Glitch-y things I am grateful for:

- jdawg stopping me on the subway to say "Hey, if there's things you love or hate about projects, let me know!" - the devs in this game ROCK HARDCORE.

- the implementation of flying frogs, especially since word is we'll be able to direct-deliver to others. Never ever getting my project-beneficial auctions sniped again to line some greedy person's pocket makes me a happy Glitch-ling.

- more reassurances that notes will no longer be required for projects. Collecting 2k paper when each glitch can only harvest 30 per game day was painful.

- the teamwork of the amazing project-loving-folks. sure, there are some who are in it for profit, but there are plenty of others who just drop stuff, give stuff, trade stuff, and share stuff to get the job done. I spent most of today's test working on an Alakol project & the people working alongside me made it so enjoyable.

- the fact that we get such great, well-thought responses to our feedback. I really feel like every Glitch is making a difference towards the finished game.

  • Hmmm, time to add to it with my own reasons:

-The creativity in housing. They really went above and beyond most housing systems in other games by making so many different kinds of houses.

-I have to agree with the project people working together. When it comes to the point that everyone is just crushing or grinding or frying or whatever, people don't think that they're going to get ahead because someone forgot food, they just drop it to help people, because that's how Glitches are.

-The energy/time ratio. I've found myself low on energy before, but I've never felt like I don't have enough, if that makes sense. I'm not constantly eating food or waiting for the next day, I feel like I'm low on energy just enough to make sense and give me a bit of a challenge.

-The age/maturity group of the players. In general, even if there are younger people on the game, 90% of people act completely mature. Compared to all the other MMOs I've played, where it's rare to find someone with any kind of maturity whatsoever.

    (:

  • I definitely appreciate the relationship between the testers and the devs.  Top notch classiness.

  • Amen to all of this, with another: above and beyond the maturity, the friendliness and collaborative spirit of 100% of the Glitches I have met is astonishing.  I know from reading forums that there have been troll outbreaks, but they seem to be pretty rare.

So, good on the devs for creating the environment, and good on the Glitches for preserving it.

  • +1 to all of the above.

  • The tone of the game: It has managed to walk a very curious line of depth and playfulness and silliness. I've been mulling on why the game both draws people in but at the same time doesn't (for the most part) have people taking things super super serious. I thing Glitch may have found a special sweet spot.

In fact, I am very curious to what effect griefers will have. Due to the nature of the game, I'm not sure if they'll have much. I get a sense that anything they can do will be met with first laughter and second with people dedicating to correcting their "damage."

  • I feel like any griefing action will immediately become the "uncool" thing to do, and as a result of the Glitch culture here the grief would be so limited that deliberately doing anything unhelpful or disrespectful just wouldn't be fun for anyone who has had any time at all to be immersed in the game. A sort of conditioning-type thing.

  • TKT, I honestly hope you're right. I started to write a response... but decided it should not be in the "things we are grateful" thread.
