Can you explain the Donate to Shrine system?

I get a message that I will get no xp for donating to one giant for one day. 4 hours later (1 game day ). So i go to another it says the same thing. I try a small donation and its accepted. Im level 31 and i cant find any clear instructions on what is allowed.  Thank you for your time

  • Donating to all shrines has an XP cap per day. Each giant also has a separate favour cap per day.

In other words, there is one XP cap for ALL donating and 11 separate favour caps for each shrine. :) So even if you cross the XP cap, you can still donate as long as you haven't crossed the favour cap (you just won't get any more XP for it until the new game day).

I've edited this comment so many times lol. I think I'm done.

  • Favor and XP are calculated separately and are capped separately. They aren't the same thing, so you can reach  cap for one of them without reaching a cap for the other.

  • Some more details: the XP cap is a fraction of your level, and the favor cap is your current "max-favor-to-next-emblem" amount (until you get your first emblem, it is 1000, and after you get each emblem, the max amount goes up by 100 favor).

If you read the warning, it is probably saying that you won't get more BEYOND the cap (whether favor or XP), so your donation is large enough to max out one or both. You'll accrue each up to the cap, and then the rest just goes away. It is possible for one to be smaller than the other (and not be able to earn one while still getting benefits from a large donation).

    Does that answer your question?

  • Thank you all for your replies

How do i know the correct amount to give a shrive and not waste time or Shrine Powder?

  • Favor is generally 10% of an item's street value. You can click on any item, open the "info" tab and find its value in currents. Donations with EHSP is the favor value X3  with FHSP it is X2.

  • How about xp - that varies for different items, right?

  • 1 currant = 0.3 favor
The shrines will generally tell you if you are about to donate over your cap of xp and favour so just keep subtracting the small amounts till you get it, or if you are going for an emblem go over slightly.

Thats with EHSP, so without, one currant is 0.1 favor.

The easiest way (in my totally humble and unbiased opinion) to calculate shrine favor from your inventory and number of powders is the FavorSaver.

I haven't seen any definitive calculations on XP bonuses and limits from shrine donations, but when I have that information I will add it to the tool.

Also, since everybody asks, I can't currently read your current giant favor and favor limits for the day.  It's been requested, so it's in the Glitch dev's court now :)

  • This post by Zu is where I learned a lot about favor donations. I have yet to check out agent86's FavorSaver yet.
