New Record?

I have just noticed that should I wish to learn the 'Potionmaking III' skill it will take me...

I could probably learn to make potions IRL while I wait XD
I'm not complaining though. I'm so slow i've only just noticed that better learning doesn't exsist anymore :3

  • your brain capacity is 38, upgrade to 60 it'll go much faster

  • Yup, you need to up your brain capacity. Also, keep in mind that through donations and spending favor points, you can cut that 39 days down to around 20.

  • It was 56 days when I started. You're nowhere close to the record. :)

  • Potionmaking III in 50d... Mining IV in 83d... definitely should start unlearning :)

  • If you unlearn a lower level skill does it affect your higher level abilities? For example:

Let's say I want to unlearn Potionmaking I to speed up learning Mining IV, will that affect my Potionmaking in-game abilities if I already know Potionmaking II or above?

  • Try it and see ;) You'll find it's not possible. You'd have to unlearn Potionmaking II to unlearn I. Gotta go in reverse order with unlearning :)

  • I learned it in 4 days. Started at level 58, finished at level 59, Brain Capacity was 60, spent tons and tons of favor at shrines, drank lots and lots of Yellowcrumb Essences and Pungent Sunrises, and grabbed many time quoins in AL. I noticed the time remaining went down quite a bit when I leveled up.

  • Forgot to mention that I already knew 101 skills.

  • Upgrade you brain capacity to 60
    Drink lots of Yellow Essence
Buy or obtain emblems and spend them on your skill

  • Yup. Emblems. I spent some on Potionmaking III too.

  • There seems something rather depressing about unlearning. I'm glad that isn't a thing in real life otherwise god knows what i'd have chosen to unlearn in order to pass my exams!

  • nah, not a new record... it didn't actually take this long after I squeezed the giants for every bit of favor I could and picked up some more brain cap, but when I first started  Potionmaking III it was 40 days and some odd hours... I was at 101+1/44 BC

I also learned that emblems are worthless for learning speed once you get over a certain amount of favor.  I can trade 3600 favor for an emblem and get a couple hours off my skill, or I can spend 3590 favor for 6 or 7 hours off my skill (or more/less depending on how closely associated the giant is with the skill)........  let me know if I'm wrong, but I had a large cache of emblems that I spent at the beginning and that's what I noticed.

  • You're right, Kaelyn. You are MUCH better off spending points rather than emblems as you get higher up in total favor.

However, the upshot of emblems is that after you've exhausted your donating for the day, you can still buy emblems fairly cheap and spend them, so another 8 hours off might only cost you 6k currants.
