The Principality of Chakra Phool

There is a new group designated to the promotion and protection for all residents and friends of Chakra Phool. I hope that it becomes a diverse community of people who wish to debate issues that effect the region, and to organise communities for the benefit of all.
The group is in its early stages so join in and make it your own! The group can be found at: http://www.glitch.com/groups/RIFDAKT65NI2HQ0/ and its description can be found below :-)

----------------------------------------------------------------------

This groups attempts to unite all of the residents and friends of Chakra Phool in to one community. The aim: to help protect the region and promote it across Ur; to promote integration amongst Chakra Phool residents, and to encourage people from across Ur to come to our lovely region for trade and other reasons.
The idea is still in its early days, so please provide lots of feedback and this group will change and adopt to the wishes and demands of Chakra Phool :-) Please invite as many people as possible!

P.S. The name of this group is also up for debate

  • interesting idea, but i can't help but wonder... protected from what exactly?

  • From whatever issues other people in the group may have. Not any I can think of at the moment :-)

  • Do we get special hats? ;-)

  • I wish I could give you special hats! You can get special gifts for joining :-D Nothing like good old fashioned bribes!

  • Sorry, but one group of people, even residents and friends of a region, cannot decide for all the rest of the players what is going to be "protected" in that region.  All parts of the game are usable by all players for any purpose at all, as long as it's within the rules and not an exploit of a game mechanic.

  • Maybe I need to be clearer in my opening post. I meant "protected" in a looser sense of the word. Not in a very "no-one else can use this" sense. Just as I would "protect" the interest of my children, it doesn't mean that they can not go outside the house or do anything.

  • what is the "looser sense of the word" when applied to other glitches, as opposed to your children?
Posted 11 months ago by WindBorn Subscriber! | Permalink
  • All glitches are welcome to come share the resources of Chakra Phool. If a member needed a certain resource, then the group will endeavour to help them. If a member feels that there are not enough gas trees in a certain street in the region, it will be discussed and changed it necessary by the conventional means. We cannot stop people from other regions doing anything, nor would we want to.

  • I'll join anything that's dangled in front of me! ;)

  • Great! When are we going to invade Groddle, and use the profits from the pillaging to drain the danged swamps!
Posted 11 months ago by Tsu Dho Nimh Subscriber! | Permalink
  • Haha, all in good time ;-) First we must gather a vast quantity of weapons! All of the Southern States shall be united at last!
Posted 11 months ago by Anderella Subscriber! | Permalink
  • Drain the swamps?  Are you kidding?  And become yet another Groddle?
Posted 11 months ago by Kalstept Subscriber! | Permalink
  • Also a good point. Maybe we should create a Ur-wide union of harmony and peace. Like the EU except less Galactic Empire-ish

  •  it will be discussed and changed it necessary by the conventional means

The conventional means is that an individual Glitch does what they wants. Poison and  replants, or poisons and abandons. It is not up for discussion. It has  nothing to do with self appointed 'protectionists'.  It is not a democratic system

Wickdoon Mood and the Community Herb Gardens  will be nothing compared to the angst  and  trouble which will ensue if this gains any momentum
Posted 11 months ago by IrenicRhonda Subscriber! | Permalink
  • But an individual may need help and assistance in their endeavours :-) That's what Glitch is all about.

I only seek peace and harmony, it is a shame that Wickdoon Mood has turned into a war zone :-) I do not seek to recreate the same.

If you join with me, you get a cookie!

  • Shucks.  I thought this was the People's Democratic Republic of Glitch.

Shows what happens when you believe everything you read.

Angst?  And tribbles?  How about we just stick with the tribbles?

  • An individual Glitch does what they want... unless that includes joining with others for common goals?  That's somehow not okay?
Posted 11 months ago by diaveborn ♥ Subscriber! | Permalink
  • I completely agree diaveborn, hence the creation of this group :-)
Posted 11 months ago by Anderella Subscriber! | Permalink
  • Right sorry, was addressing IrenicRhonda. :)  Which.. you might know, but if you don't, there it is.
(I'm way too tired to try to be coherent any more and should probably go to sleep.)

  • Sorry diaveborn, it was my fault. I think because it was after my comment, I assumed it was directed at me. However, I can see that it was aimed towards IrenicRhonda

  • An individual Glitch does what they want... unless that includes joining with others for common goals?

Of course you can. I just foresee another group, or individual, will take it upon themselves to deliberately work against the common aims agreed upon by the first group. Just as in Wickdown Mood and the wood trees

I can see nothing but grief coming from this.

I hope I will proven wrong.

  • IrenicRhonda: Gotcha. That makes sense to me.
Posted 11 months ago by diaveborn ♥ Subscriber! | Permalink
  • @IrenicRhonda - why do you say this isn't a democracy? If each Glitch does as he or she pleases, will the majority not prevail? Things may not be voted on per se, but if 50 people want to kill bean trees or relocate pigs and those with opposing goals number fewer then bean trees will die and pigs will move. The difference is just that the views of the majority don't become law here. The opposition is free to continue pursuing their own goals. It still looks a lot like people voting with their actions to me.

  • There have been few people joining my group, and those that have joined do not seem keen to comment on the discussion board. Maybe my idea would work better as a series of posts on the general forums? Let me know what you guys think :-)
Posted 11 months ago by Anderella Subscriber! | Permalink
  • I think keep to your group.  That is what your post was advertising :) I'm sure more of you Chakra buddies will rally around eventually.

  • Also noticed the group is invite only.  Why you only have a few!
Posted 11 months ago by ~Arabesque~ Subscriber! | Permalink
  • Thanks for letting me know. Hopefully people can automatically join now.
Posted 11 months ago by Anderella Subscriber! | Permalink
  • Hi just checked - it's still invite only.  Maybe it's a glitch (no pun intended!)
Posted 11 months ago by ~Arabesque~ Subscriber! | Permalink
  • Thanks Casarat. I think I have identified the problem. I set the group to "public approval" which means it is public for everyone to see, but you have to get approval to join. It would appear that you can't change the settings once the group have been made. I have posted this issue in the "bug" section of forums and hopefully a member of staff will get back to me shortly. Again, thank you for your kind help :-)

  • Update: I changed the group to "The Great Gathering of Chakra Phool". More of a "friends get together" and solve problems rather than an imperialistic empire :-)
