I really miss stories from the trees, rocks, pigs, etc....stoot you said they would be coming back, but are they?

I have asked before, and after 11 months Im asking again........

What happened to the stories from the trees, pigs, rocks, chickens?  I miss hearing stories about the giants from them. The ramblings of the paranoid bubble trees, hearing about how pot loves lemons, etc.

Please, are you bringing these back, soon??? It was one of my favorite things about the game!!!!!

Stories from the past

They miss it, too.

stoot said 11 months ago "They will be coming back (improved)!"

So, after 11 months, I have to ask..........Were you just yanking our chain, or are they really coming back?

  • I'd like them to come back, as I was not here to hear them the first time around. :~)

  • Odd... I'm very new but the bubble tree stories are familiar. I believe they still say this stuff and more, when you pet/water/harvest them. But the others don't. So it was nice to catch up on these bits of Glitch history. Thanks! :-)

  • Would love to have this back in game. I think about it all the time...it was such a fun and engaging little bit of enchantment.

  • It'd be nice if there were a way to toggle them- like you can the music from the metal maker....

  • I want my story-telling animals back. Even if they're already messed up and I can squeeze grain out of them or pick bubbles off of their branches. Speaking...speaking gives them a sense of being. It makes them feel alive. Think about the Parsnips. The Parsnips.

  • "Sooner than you might think"? That's a new stootism... How long is that in months? (or years if you have to)

    I kid ;), and I'm excited!!

  • the last time I saw stoot say "sooner than you think" it was in reference to sloths and foxes and they released that evening

ETA: actually wait, that's not what he said, but close enough.

  • So its safe to say they'll be back sooner than "soon"?! HOORAY!!!

  • remember -- stoot studied philosophy at the graduate level.  "soon" probably has a completely different meaning! :)

  • Well, if we thought they were never coming back, anything would be sooner than that... :D

  • i understand time the way dogs and small children understand it:

things happen now, a little while ago, a long time in the past, before i need to pee again, and OMG, I WILL BE DEAD BY THE TIME THAT HAPPENS!!!

  • Please with a option to turn off for those that dont want stories.

  • Makes you wonder if the new Uncle Friendly/ Helga quest was either spawned from this thread or just part of the above taunting of Stoot.

  • Ugh...loved hearing the stories the first time...hated how repetitive they became...hopefully, they have improved so we don't have to listen to the same exact thing over and over and over or hoping for a toggle to turn them off when they do get too repetitious...glad there are some that are happy they are back though!

  • I'd like to get some kind of reward for taking the time to interact with them.    They are a bit wordy, and once they've got you cornered you have to hear the whole long sordid story and keep clicking your answers. There is no way to shut them up once they've started.   Maybe if the knowledge gained from the stories could give us an advantage in some way it would be more worthwhile.  If not that, than maybe listening to a story ought to give the listener an imagination bonus?

  • -1 to adding a reward (if you don't care about flavor text or back-story, don't read it)
Posted 100 days ago by Janitch Subscriber! | Permalink
  • Oh fuck, we have to click stuff?
    :(
Posted 100 days ago by shhexy corin Subscriber! | Permalink
  • you don't really know how long the story is going to be until the first click, if it looks like a long winded one you have to hear them out by clicking your answers (unless there is a way to escape).

Anything that costs clicking should give a little img.

  • shhexy corin said a bad word.
Posted 99 days ago by Treesa Subscriber! | Permalink
  • oh, you have to click to start them rabbiting on, don't you?  you can ignore them,  they just shout at you all the time
Posted 99 days ago by shhexy corin Subscriber! | Permalink
  • Usually I click to see what they are going to say because they beg and plead and nag me to talk to them.   If the story doesn't grab my interest in the first few words or  If it looks like its going to be a long story I just click through all the answers without reading.  It would be nice to be able to turn it off if you find the story boring.   It would also give the devs who are writing the stories some feedback if they know how many people aren't waiting for it to finish.
Posted 99 days ago by Treesa Subscriber! | Permalink
  • maybe an option to send the story to my "read later" mailbox?
Posted 99 days ago by Treesa Subscriber! | Permalink
  • Not complaining or anything, but while we are on the topic, the frog could use a few new lines.

  • I love the stories. Thank you.

  • I do love the stories too, but a way to close the dialogue bubble for the players who don't care to read would be pretty cool to have.
Posted 99 days ago by Makai Subscriber! | Permalink
  • They can ignore it....  The tree, chicken, pig, etc. will say "Hey come talk to me". If you dont want to, just move on. Not hard, and not irritating. They dont take over, like they used to.
