I think if I remember correctly its 490 grain. I think the potatos and corn are worth the same amount as 4 grain...one could be worth 3. I dont remember, I did it last night. I could calculate it but its too early to be doing that. :P
Of course the 490 grain, would be the amount to completely fill the machine.
Even with only some players having achieved the fairly easy-to-learn Distilling skill, hooch prices are cratering, already hitting marks below the old vendor price of 10c. If you have AK7 you can get 10 grain from a chicken every time you squeeze it, making the harvest of 500 grain almost effortless. Since such a person can run 2 or 3 stills and the still runs while they're doing other activities, I predict that we will all be absolutely awash in hooch in no time. What's more, 14 grain = 1 hooch = 1 favor, while 10 grain = 1 favor. Eventually only people who need hooch for drinks or potions will produce it, hoping that some of their excess finds a bit of traction in the auction house.
Thanks for the correction! I have only used grain and potatoes, so was going off of what someone else said. Now my mental corn calculations are updated!
I love being able to make hooch but it's too easy. Maybe if grain, potatoes and corn made a different sort of alcohol each, or it took longer to distill, it would make more sense overall. (But then maybe my view on having lots of hooch will change once I finish learning Tincturing!)
Even with Tincturing, I am producing far far more Hooch than I can use, simply because Herb production is so agonizingly slow. Guano fixes growth time, but the yields are still much to low to match the speed of Hooch production.
I have multiple stills going, but only because I drink what I don't blend or tincture and nothing beats a night in Hell like 48 jugs of hooch and some stew...
I like your idea Nyx. I was think along the same lines (and mainly uses a combo of corn tats, and grain in batches) Woochi wants a bottle of cherry cordial!
