inGame Group Chats - How To Organize

TS has said that the Global Chat will vanish once we're live...So how would you like the inGame chat to be organized?

As the admin. of the innerGlitch Community Group, ours is a group that attempts to build community rather than be organized around a general/particular aspect of glitch. As such, I really don't want someone else deciding where our group "fits" as per a particular organizational category which has nothing to do with building community.

My suggestion as to how to organize the groups in the chat window, at this point and is subject to change :) ---

Have 14 groups showing in the chat window in this order:

Top most: The 7 groups with the most group members inGame in their respective group chats.
Followed by: List the 7 groups with the most members.

Your thoughs?

  • I would like to be able to personally prioritize which groups I see in chat and which I don't.  Some groups seem more useful in forums and not chat, for instance (at least to me).

I envision a tickybox in the main area for each group: Show in chat?  Yes/No

  • I guess it just perplexes me why when one conversation about a topic is already happening, a new topic with the same comment as in the other topic is posted.

  • I think it's neat that when the game is down for a time, people turn focus onto the community / group development. It's been interesting watching various groups form and seeing the similar but different gatherings of people. Seems there is getting to be a Group for just about every sort of role play, self appointed goal, home owner gathering, solo or cooperative play style, and building-balancing teams. It's cool! It's a lot like sitting down with a puzzle of the sky - those blue pieces sure look similar, but you need them all to make the whole picture.
