Every time a person makes a nice thread like this, instead of just considering it finders keepers from the start, people jump in with joke claims. It might be funny the first like fifty times but now I'm wondering if we could all just save the time of the person having to read the responses, and leave the funny to a more appropriate place?
Every time a person makes a nice thread like this, people jump in with joke claims and bump up the thread at the same time, but then comes a hero who feels morally obligated to save the day by giving lectures about it! Thank you diaveborn for letting me and all the other jokers out there know that this is a very serious and important thread that must not have any jokes in it!
Ama-gi, there are totally other ways to bump, so I'm not sure that's the motivation behind things... and all I mean is that if it were my thread, I'd not like having to sort through all the responses. Also? I don't feel morally obligated. I do, however, feel annoyed about the situation, and today happened to reach the limit of my not-saying-anything patience. But if the answer to my "can we leave the funny to a more appropriate place" is no and people keep doing it, I'll leave it alone, and I ever find something I think is lost I'll figure out what to do at that point.
I'm annoyed by people questioning my motivation, but you don't see me telling them what to do and how to behave. Sorry if you feel annoyed but I honestly meant no harm and I can't be bothered to think whether someone might feel annoyed by a joke or not.
I don't understand, Diaveborn.
If the bag isn't yours, why are you even in this thread?
If you don't read threads that have nothing to do with you, then you will, surely, avoid being annoyed.
Ama-gi, like I said it was just the end of my patience - just you, I have no problem with. Also I was very careful to ask, not tell.
Granville, well, same reason you are, or anybody else is in this thread. The ONLY reason I posted is because if it WERE my thread, I'd be annoyed at having to sift through the responses so I thought I'd speak out on behalf of anyone else who is posting the threads and might be annoyed also.
Look, I wasn't mean, I didn't call names, I was pretty clear from the get-go it wasn't a single person in this thread prompting me to reply. And I've stated that now that I've said my piece I'll leave it alone. I don't think I'm this huge "bad guy" for posting what I posted.
ElleKitty, my apologies as for you I've probably created much more worries than anything else.
No worries, diaveborn. Frankly I would rather not have to sift through all the non-related posts to see if the bags' owner has responded here. Which is why I probably won't check again, and will hope for mail or a message from the Bags' real owner. While it does not contain any rare items it is full of items collected and crafted and was probably left by mistake.
If people didn't say funny things in threads, most of them wouldn't be worth reading!
That being said, here's my *very serious* response:
Generally when bags are left around, they were left intentionally as gifts for whoever finds them.
Now here's my *very serious* suggestion to those who like to leave gift bags:
Leave a note in the bag or rename the bag "free bag." It will save honest glitches from needing to create threads like this one...
(and it will save people from making jokes in threads like this one... and save other people from asking that others *not* make jokes in threads like this one...)
