10 ideias to make Glitch even more fun!

Hello, this is a small list to discuss.

1) If you own a house every month you must pay a small fee to the electricity in your house... the bills could come and go by mail.

2) Button to turn off/on light inside your house so you can let fireflys inside and get a discount to the bills in the end of the month...

3) Fishing is really fun! Please add it.

4) View world map in the website outside of the game... its big map and we could have the option to print it...

6) Let players build karts and ajusting the kart to make it more faster or a turn better in a curve would be cool! and make a map or two for the races.

7) Create a map called "Golf Competition" and add mini golf to the game.

8) Create professions like "Master of Mining" and give a unique item to show off for the player like a mining hat.

9) Create a card colector game inside Glich with cards to collect!

I would like to come up with a gran finale ideia... I kown some of the ideais up are already posted/requested for some other players...

So... my last idea would be...

10) Mix together this ideas to "create" something and go add a place called "Carnival" with lots of mini-games to go and do.

  • I love the map idea....as a college student it would make a wonderful bulletin board component :P  Especially the new map showing the whole area.

  • #9 would be a cool way to show off some of the preliminary artwork we know must be out there... and show off some of the lore of Ur, as well!don't over think it, perhaps, just release a couple hundred collectible concept sketches and a "photo album" page on the site to show them off!

  • Take this as a compliment or insult, but this seems like turning Glitch into Neopets.

    (Please God, no!)

  • I never played Neopets so I can not say anything about that what I can say is that I have the best of intentions posting my ideais.

  • There's a slight flaw with #3, which means you actually have to physically harm the fish. Perhaps you can have a record of fishes you've caught then thrown back in the water, and the fish you keep can be kept in a tank in your house. But no letting them die D: you need a pouch of water to transport them.

And also, nothing that means you lose out on resources for being away from the game. Passive costs aren't great as well, and I'm sure electricity hasn't been imagined by the giants. Yet.

  • buying fish from vendor and cooking them may also be considered harm... so I think fishing might be OK.

  • #6 sounds like the Tiny Wings game on iPhone -- which is really addictive by the way, so that would be perhaps a great mini game...

  • So hog-tying a pig and sacrificing them on an altar doesn't count as harming them?

  • #1 would be a PITA. There are enough other things to do without having to worry about whether the lights are still on in your house. I prefer the flat-rate, one-time fee to an ongoing, never-ending stream of bills. That's more like RL than is enjoyable.

  • #1 if there is no monthly rental or tax then someone can buy a house and never play again but the house stays off the market forever.  Once we are out of beta and lots of people come in to try a free game this could be a bigger concern.

  • @ Artilect - yeah, but they could also just make a rule that if you don't log in or interact with your house, it goes "derelict", and gets released back into the market- then you don't have to bill people, and the problem of taken but unused houses gets addressed.

  • good ideia but... for example sometimes people are away traveling or working so they need to give time for the house to not go back into the market like 30 days...

  • 30 days is just a spitball figure. Why not make it to where somebody could, I dunno, "shutter" their house when they're going to be gone for an extended period of time? Let's say, 90 days (that seems pretty reasonable- I travel constantly, but I'm pretty sure I could return to my house at least *once* in 90 days, however busy I was). Then they'd get a warning email- "Your house is about to be declared derelict and put on the market! Better check in so that doesn't happen!" Something like that. And if the issue is one-off players when it goes public- there's probably gonna be a few of those, but probably not enough that will play just long enough to get a house, and then abandon it completely.
Besides, there are loads of houses in the beta, and I would imagine their numbers will only increase- I doubt TS is gonna put 100 houses into a game with 5K players, for instance. On top of that, people often start out in smaller places and upgrade as they advance, so the lower tier of players can then spend their 2K on a treehouse or whatever. Add to this the idea that's been brought up elsewhere of buying land and building your own house- just seems like a bill-cycle (which many of us deal with IRL) would be less "fun" and more "annoying".
