Welcome to Glitch*BRGR. (Auction House App) The cheapest food with the most energy.

Hi,
I have not really posted on the forums much... but my friends said I should give it a shot and share the glitch application I just made.

It is called Glitch*BRGR! It looks at food for sale in the auction house and sorts it based on what food will provide the most energy for the lowest cost.

It currently is not very complex.  It simply calculates the total amount of energy gained from all the units of food and then divides it by the cost of the auction.  It then sorts everything based on the what has the lowest cost per energy point.

It is not perfect, but it is something that I only spent a day making.  If people like it and seem to be using it I will probably make some improvements.

Have fun!

  • Tyler: Do you have the code up on github or anywhere?

  • databasically: I do not have the code on github or anyplace.  But the entire application is written in javascript/html and is relatively small, so you should be able to just view source.

Are you interested in contributing to it? I would gladly place this on Google Code or Git.

  • Awesome, thanks everyone.

Would anyone be interested in having a feature that allows you to set a required minimum amount of energy per food unit?

Onions seem to be a really popular item that you can purchase for a low energy to cost ratio... however they only have 4 or 5 energy per onion.  So I was thinking it might be nice to try and filter some of those items out from the search.

    Thoughts?

  • I think that's a great idea.

Perhaps instead of a per item option, you could put it as per stack?  A bit more complicated, since there are different stack sizes for different foods.

  • This is a brilliant idea, but I agree, it should be per stack, not per item, because people who are desperate for food need a stack!

  • Fantastic! So very useful. Thank you for making and sharing. And yes, filters would be nice- purchases from x to y amount, total energy from such to such, # of items/stack, etc.

  • Great app. A version that sorts by favor per currant would also be interesting.

  • indeed. how difficult would it be to do one that included all items?

  • +1 Saro and Hagbard
I've been thinking about almost the same app but looking at favor instead of energy to see if anything is worth buying and donating.
