Finding Low Level Players

I reached Level 10  :)  and was asked to help lower level players by gifting items to 5 people who were Level 1-4. Easy-peasy! I was all excited and tried grabbing players to check their Info. First person I wrestled was ...  Level 42 !!! (They go that high?) - Next one was Level 17, then 23 - whew, not so easy, since most players are skimming by so fast, they're hard to catch quickly enough to check Info/Level. It would be nice if, during this quest, we could see the players' Levels floating above their heads, next to their names - (And certainly proud "badges of honor" for those who are Level 42 -- and beyond!) :D

  • New players level up pretty fast. I think since the point of the quest should be to welcome new players, it should apply to players under a certain level rather than just level 1s. Say... level 5? Most players who are level 5 are still pretty new to the game.

  • It does apply to people under level 5 (find a player from level 1-4). Just not level 5 itself.

  • If you familiarize yourself with the default clothing of new players, they are easier to spot.

  • Yes, the default clothing does help greatly.  The problem I had was that most of the correct level players had no room in their bags, so it took me quite some time, but it's good to have challenges lol

  • If a new player you want to gift has no pack space, you can always give more of something they are already likely to have, such as cherries or butterfly milk!

  • Or give them a bag - at level 10 I was just getting rich enough to transition from little bags to big ones, so I gave out the little bags. They do have to co-operate by making a space though...

  • Also you can check local glitches level using their name in the "Local/Activity" window - click and you can hit the Info button there. Easier than catching them as they zoom past.

  • Echoing what katlazam says. I know people like giving 'something cool' to new players but unless they know what to do with it, you're just taking up a valuable bag space if they had one free. I like to give cherries also since they are likely to already have a stack started.

  • If you stand by the bureaucratic hall you are likely to find quite a few lower levels since they have to go there to get their cards and papers.

Also, if you look at the Forest Start and Heights Start location pages, it states what streets they connect to, which are the likely inject points for new players, and they often are running around those areas in the beginning before they start exploring the rest of the world.  And yes, the default clothing (if you can remember it) are good indicators of newer players (though I've noticed many guys still in their default clothing at slightly higher levels).

Great ideas about the cherries and/or bags!
