DNA-ja Vu - I did it! Share your experiences

I finally found that elusive 11th piece of DNA!  I feel all warm and fuzzy inside!  And I've gotta say, that quest was super-fun - exploring all over Ur, poking my nose into every nook and cranny.  What an adventure!  I discovered tons of neat little hiding spots that I never would have found otherwise!

So what about you guys?  Who's finished, and who's still looking?  Any cool stories?  What method did you use; random chance, close inspection of every street, or systematic use of the wiki?

I lobe DNA!

  • I didn't actively try and complete that quest. I keep my computer muted so I never heard them. I just happened to be street hopping with spinach and by pure luck, my jump soared me through the trees and I caught my last strand as I was flying by. I was so happy.

  • I started off systematically, but that seemed to fail me after about the sixth one. Then I just started finding them randomly as I worked on the world traveller badge. It was in Polokoo, on a street I had previously been to before all this, that I happened upon my last strand, thank Lem.

  • Wow, that's lucky, for both of you!  I didn't start off just finding them by chance, and actually forgot about the quest altogether for a while, but then I happened across my eighth strand the other day, and decided to buckle down and find the rest.

  • I found all of mine coincidentally.  I always play with no sound as well, and never looked up any information on where they might be located.  I even completed the quest pretty quickly considering my method of not even trying.  But I was going after all the completist badges at the time, so I did a lot of travelling.

  • I had more or less given up until I ran across a thread suggesting that lowering your display brightness could help.  You know what?  It worked!  I cranked it down, broke out the Wiki, and within a couple of days, I knocked off both the DNA and ghost quests.  Such squeeing was never heard before!

(I usually play with the sound off, too--although I try not to miss the little fanfare you get when you level up!)

  • I found all without looking at the wiki and with no plan, took no time at all really because I spend most of my time on the move. It was fun finding them, especially since I was not actively looking.

  • I got all the traveller badges with the sound off, and that was annoying. I began revisiting places listed on the wiki and found my last 3 all in Groddle Meadow. \o/

  • Sororia - I know what you mean!  I did all of the traveler badges a while ago, also with sound off, and then realized that I must have gone right past my missing DNA pieces.  Felt silly to have to go back and look at the wiki, but I wasn't gonna leave the quest uncompleted! :p

  • I didn't even know that the DNA made sound until I finished it.
