More details on quest requirements

I would like more details for exactly what is required for some quests. Here is my specific example:

For the snowcone quest, I was told that I needed to "collect" one of each snowcone... I was able to do this for 3 of the 5 before I ran out of money... I had limited space in my inventory, so, after checking to make sure that I had received credit for obtaining those snow cones, I ate them to free up space. I was disappointed later to find out that the credit for those snow cones had disappeared when they left my inventory, and I would have to buy them all over again (wow, those things are expensive...). It would have been nice to either have the quest info state that they must all be in my inventory at the same time, or to keep credit for those snowcones even after they had left my inventory.

  • Yes, I'd have to agree. While I like to try to 'figure it out' there are times when a hint or two about what I should do would help...do I make an item, or can I find it, or do I have to buy it? I know buying is often an option (hopefully of last resort), but it would be nice to know if there was a way to get an item that was intended by the developers (ie, making an item from other items). I found in some cases for the food items, I think I could eat them before completing the quest (I'm thinking of the chopping quest - I think I ate my sammiches before I had all the other items made - I could be wrong)...so knowing if that is permissible or not to eat in advance of completion for that quest would definitely be helpful. Especially if some earlier quests allow it, and later ones don't, that could cause problems.

  • Could be as simple as a warning, yes? "If you eat this snowcone, your quest will be reset!" That would do it, dontcha think? :)

  • I had the exact same problem with the sno cone quest...lost nearly 2,000 currants. I don't mind trial and error and learning, but it was so hard to earn the currants (esp. at earlier levels) that I hated to see so many down the drain! I think part of this was just my getting all excited and not reading the quest details carefully but also the wording "collect" is a bit vague...plus with nearly all the other quests involving food you could eat it and it made no difference.
