Challenges

I haven't played very much lately. Partly because of shortage of time and partly because the game doesn't seem to offer challenges that are 'exciting'. I may have missed some of the new stuff by not playing and maybe there are new challenges that would fit the bill. But, it seems that all the things you can do and the quests are a variation of exploring, making stuff, and buying stuff, and figuring out how to do those things. And the other things the game offers are dressing up your avatar and socialising (in game and in forums, groups etc). The only other computer game I've played really is Guild Wars. The graphics were certainly a lot better which I guess is the difference between what Flash can do and whatever GW uses, no big deal. But in GW while I felt there was too much emphasis on fighting, it did offer more exciting challenges/quests. Overcoming obstacles, defeating foes, figuring out puzzles. An interesting thing is that both games force you to do some quests with other players - if you want to do everything. Though GW now has characters who can stand in for real people.
I think Glitch needs more quests that are of a different nature, that fire up the adrenalin. Somewhere in between the rook quest (demonstrably impossible) and the easy ones.

  • We have several races you can do.  The first time you get some of them as Quests but you can also purchase tickets for them.  If you lose, you can do them again.

The Tower has 11 secret places and a Quest.  You need to be at least lev. 12 to do the Quest.  Plexus is a fun new location.  You will need a key to get in.  have you found all the locations that require keys?

Check the Encyclopedia for "Achievements".  there may be some of those that you would enjoy doing.

  • one thing I noticed in glitch is that your titles or achievements are not visible to other players other than if they are looking at your profile page.  You cannot currently set a specific achievement as your subtitle under your name to make public what you are working on or have done.

  • I have to find a Magic Rock to activate transportation skills.  I've been to the GF Junction, but haven't found it or any sign for the actual Forest.  Can you help me?

  • The Rock is the wee guy at the top of your screen that gives you quests. Just click on him.

  • LOL at least, for a moment, it must have sounded interesting to be able to go on a quest for a magic rock.

  • Emu, we're in the same boat. I am not saying the game needs scripted storylines... or even storylines at all. But, I feel the game is void of like truly grand things. I am holding my breath because I feel (as do many others) that the Giants need to make their full appearance before making any demands.

The potential is everywhere, but it just hasn't bee realized yet. I'm anxious to see what happens. I'm a very easy person to please though, so when it all goes down, I'm sure I'll be happy. But, I know there are a lot harder critics out there than me.

But, yeah, I personally would like to see more teamwork quests that involve challenging tasks. We should be making things that help us accomplish challenging tasks. Projects are making for the sake of making. It's not the same as making something so that you can accomplish something because you don't 'need' the something to do it. The only reason the something is needed is because it's asking for it explicitly. But, my example is going to be spinach. It is often Needed because it grants a super jump. That's the kind of need I'm talking about.
