Why are opened Cubimals not able to be put on auction?

Any person who buys Cubimal boxes tends to get multiples of various ones in pursuit of securing a complete set. I don't think its unreasonable to assume people would like an easier way to resell duplicates. I think we should be able resell the spares or even the rarer ones on auction. It would be direct, more organized and would provide a much easier network to help locate ones we need. I would like to request the consideration of individual Cubimals be allowed to be sold via auction in addition to unopened boxes and the Cubimal Case.

  • It seems this sort of thing is more fun when you have to deal with the chance every time really. It'd be a lot easier to reach the end (but also a lot less fun, despite what you would think conventionally) to reach the goal, which is owning all of them.

  • Its not as much fun for those who work and have much less time to play. It's often frustrating when you have to mine, cook, or harvest for another opportunity to blind box a pig or firefly. Convenience should be an option. That way those who do not want to take the longer route are not forced to.

  • Join the Cubimal Traders group.  Easy to get swaps in that group.

  • But if you can buy open cubimals, how will cubimal boxes be a currant sink? (which this game really needs)

Except that you don't have to, you want to.

  • @Lily Regardless how you nitpick my word choice its irrelevant. I simply posted this thread as an attempt to communicate a suggestion like many other people have done. It's not a matter of "needing" or "wanting" its a matter of introducing a possible idea that might or might not improve one small aspect of the game. This is a game, technically no one "needs" to play, "needs" to learn that skill, or "needs" to complete the quest. However it doesn't make me or anyone else who makes a specific request wrong to ask. Telling me its a choice to take action towards obtaining an item I want has absolutely nothing to do with my suggestion.

  • If you post it here, it is more likely to be seen as a complaint or problem.  There's an Ideas forum, where suggestions are much less likely to be misunderstood.

  • The cubimal section overall does provide a money sink, for those that want to do that, if it wasn't, everyone would do it for whatever trophy or emblems you'd get. Any common cubimal would be worth almost nothing, and anyone with doubles of uncommons or rares would sell them at not so great a value. It could still be a moneysink only if the economy actually made some sense for once and we knew that rare ones would be priced high and not at 5,200 currant or something.

That said, if it was an 'idea' it probably belonged in the 'ideas' subforum anyway, since it's more of a suggestion and less of a question, which I'm sure many people came in here thinking that it was.

If you can trade them, it makes little difference whether you can buy them on auction or not, it just means you need to get to know people who have more than you, which is probably a good thing in the long run.

  • I agree, join the cubimal trading group, it's active now that more people are gathering them, and I have popped in to the chat to find people bartering or offering or requesting almost every time (I don't pop in super often though, as I don't actually have any to trade myself! lol!)

The way auctions (appear to) work is that an item must have a listed Currants Value in it's info page. If it does not, then it doesn't appear to be auctionable.
If it had a listed currants value, then you would be able to sell back to vendors, which they obviously do not want.

  • Can't there be exceptions? I've noticed for example that while Emblems are not auctionable, they show up in a search. Bigger Bags were auctionable but only through API (this was changed earlier today), and some other items also show up but are not auctionable.

  • @gordon, I have no issue with suggestions being made, nor do I have any issue with wanting certain items in the game.
I do kinda take issue with your tone, but I suspect I asked for it by opening my mouth.

  • People who use 'have to' instead of 'want to' typically don't even realize what they are doing, it's akin to a child saying 'mom I NEED this' knowing it will help his chances of getting it even though it's wrong, to him saying 'mom I WANT this' which is accurate, it makes you seem more desperate and imparts empathy,

As for convenience being an option, no one ever chooses to not to take advantage of  convenience unless they feel they are 'challenging' themselves in some way.

If they are put for sale, most people will go ahead and buy the ones that are worth it and avoid the ones that aren't, but few people are going to decide to get all of them via unboxing (unless there's a badge/trophy for that specifically, and if there was people would complain that required it too)

  • Personally I like the one on one trading and blind box fun. Trading fosters friendships!

  • I'm for this idea of selling cubimals. It's a collection series, and in my 7 cubimal boxes so far i've gotten 3 duplicates, all common ones that no one wants to trade for (despite being a part of the cubimal trading group). So, with this in mind, I could easily sell my opened ones to people who actually want them, rather than letting them gather dust in my house

  • I like my totally unsaleable common cubimals.  There's something doubly amusing about a toy that has absolutely no in-game value, but costs bazillions to acquire.

  • Auctions came and went? I noticed there are a bunch listed but cant list my own?

oh it looks like the listings cant be used now either :/

  • I see the listings, but I can't actually click on them...

  • Do those listings mean that they're possibly testing being able to sell them out of the box... ? Because that would be awesome :D

  • @Sunburts, it was a bug that the current cubimal auctions were able to be listed at all.

  • I bought three cubimal boxes today and I've only bought 5 total (including these three).

All three had Chicks. Which now I have four Chicks.

I'm not a completionist, I just want a cute collection of them! But 4 Chicks out of 5 boxes?! GRR!

So +1 to a market to sell these things.
