I tried, I failed, what now?

When keys rolled out I was super-duper excited, then I noticed how OP they were. So I made an example rule set like I mentioned here, not something I ever said was one... but they are pretty blunt and condescending (unintentionally).

So from there everything was chill, I didn't want to be mean and felt lonely in the bogs so I handed out a mere 60 keys.

I watched that thread, and after Vera Strange had  pointed out that someone should have common courtesy, I decided that people who I knew or were reputed would get the keys, which is awesome.

Then an incident came where my butterfly eggs were taken and meat collectors came empty, I didn't freak out, but just wanted an answer, and no one seemed to be a suspect... then it happened again, so I was like screw it, I'll just take out some people who were keyed during the last theft between person A & B.

As incidents occurred, I put notes in their place that were of the same concept of the rules...(and noted that).

I moved the eggs somewhere safe and moved on.

Now the herb hype. I have people who plant for achievements by using my herb house which is OK. But recently people have been taking plots that aren't theirs and that's pretty screwed up of course.

The obvious answer is to revoke keys, and being specific would be hard to do... and mass mailing is impossible.

Should I take the time to do mail/IM each person? My stuff is not in harms way anymore. Where can I plant my herbs now (I do have some options like a friends house and garden, is anyone's low traffic)?

The people who have my keys are at least 30+ in level I have no Idea who would do those kinds of things...at that point.

Thank you for reading,

  • R is also for Restart (without giving any keys). ;)
Hey, just found out that there is one player called "The Rook".I wonder if there's any "The Kul Koba" or, for example, "The Blanky", or even "The stoot barfield"?... :)
Hugs to you and to The you!
    K.K.

  • I hope you already revoked them all. It is true that some people don't deserve the trust. But next time, be much more selective in your key giving, think twice about someone and if you have to think twice, then they don't deserve it.

    Cheers.

  • I have only given a key to my rl partner.  Which was sort of worrying me, with all the talk of alts etc, but then I realised that if TS looked at our activity they would see that while I do use his herb garden, most of the time the exchanges go the other way - "make me some EHSP, will you?" or "do you have any meat?" or "I'll just take these tomatoes you're growing".

I don't trust ANYONE else enough to give them a key, and don't think I will in the future either.

Sorry you had experience Rook, there are so many idiots in the world and it only takes one to spoil things like this.

  • I don't mean to offend, but what did you expect handing out 60 keys?
Posted 12 months ago by EastCutty Subscriber! | Permalink
  • Oh no, you didn't offend.

I expected people who were already "well to do" and part of the awesome glitchy commute to do make a blast.

I knew things would be taken, but what upset me was for no note left behind. I mean, in glitch you can't take revenge on someone.

I mean, if you get robbed and you gave keys to people who you didn't know very well, it would be a pretty dumb idea to get mad and make a post...

I'm not made, just wanted advice. And that's what I'm getting.

    Happy Glitching! Cheers.
