Glitchen Invisibility Skill

I've taken a quick look around and don't see where anyone else has suggested this, which surprises me. I propose the addition sometime in the future of a Glitchen Invisibility Skill. I see this as a highly valuable new skill for three very simple reasons.

1. Being invisible is the dream of probably 95% of the Glitch population.

2. We can already dress up as Glitchen  Ninja, so why not go the next step and let us be REAL Glitchen Ninja. (Glinja?)

3. Less avatars rendered at any given time would only serve to reduce lag for everyone within a zone, would it not?

So theres my quick two cents, I hereby release this idea into the wild to see if it evolves.

  • I love the idea! =D would be amazing! Sure it doesn't add much (or anything) gamewise, but it'd simply be cool. Perhaps, we could have a slight shimmer when moving, but completely invisible when still?

  • It could be a way to escape or at least temporarily hide from the Rook..... that could be functionally useful

  • And juju as well. But they are sorta rare occasions (unless your in the Ancestral lands alot) and pretty easy to avoid both. But i'm still in favour of this idea, I'd like to see a whole bunch of sorta 'unique' utilities like this, we already have levitation.

  • Perhaps a 'sprint' skills. uses up energy, but run as fast as if using spinach?

  • Hmmmm, seems like this could be the start of a whole new skill section. From my angle it looks like Levitation, Invisibility and Sprint could all fit into the same skill tree branch. And the more I think about it the more things I can see fitting alongside them.

  • That's the good thing about these forums, builds upon ideas and has some good conversations =)

On a related note, I do LOVE the idea of a whole new skill section, although i'll admit it'd be a pretty big update.

We could have invisibility, levation, sprint, perhaps an upgrade to levitation that makes you fly? Skills that don't take  long to learn, but are just fun to use and completely situational.

  • One of the things that's drawn me so strongly to Glitch is the opportunity for my frequent randomness and unusual habit of stumbling upon new branches of thought to actually be useful for something beyond my own amusement or contemplation.

I have to say i'm still seeing this as a natural progression to the section of the skill table where Levitation already exists. Seems to just branch right out from below it... i'm even seeing lots of avenues for using Achievements as a requirement to unlock the new skills.

  • t first i thought it would be a good idea to let newbies, experiment with the new skills, but now i think it would be better, if it was somewhat hard to obtain, and would force newbies to spend their initial time in the game, learning more 'neccassary' skills. While the utilities would be more an overreaching goal, and sorta 'bonus'

  • Yeah, the "sandbox" section of the skill table. In order to unlock any of the skills in the branch you have to gain some kind of big achievement or finish a quest that requires teamwork with other Glitchen.

I'd also love to see some kind of "Mastered the Art of the Glinja!" Achievement for using Invisibility enough.
