Spreadsheet for SDBs, shelves, segments, fuel cells, girders, doors, etc...

I've finished the new set of sheets and won't be updating this any more. The new sheets link can be found here... http://www.glitch.com/forum/general/21297/

docs.google.com/spreadsheet...

Just something I whipped up quick this morning for myself. Thought you all might find it useful. If nothing else, it's proof of concept for me wanting to make something like the Grind-O-Tron but for literally every single item in game.

UPDATED: I have updated the spreadsheet to include cabinets, counters, urth blocks, doors, girders. Everything you should need to get your house expanded and have places to put everything.

UPDATE AGAIN: Reverted to a previous save (the last good version) and had to disable editing by anyone but myself. I've set all the numbers to what they'll be for making one of each thing so with some quick math you can figure out how many of whatever you'll need for making more than one. If you want to be able to edit the spreadsheet and have it do the calculations for you, you'll have to download it or message me in game some time and I'll email you the excel sheet.

Currently working on the full set of sheets covering _EVERY_ item in game that is craftable. I've done everything but the kitchen tools and the tinkertool. I'm hoping to finish it today.

  • I love seeing '30 other viewers' :p Definitely adding to my google docs! Thanks for doing this, I was literally /just/ about to put one together myself.

  • So I've put in all the things you need to get all the storage and expand your house fully. Now that I have this little bit of proof of concept I'm going to look into making something like the grind-o-tron but for every item in game instead of just potions. =) This spread sheet is just a little preview of what I intend to put up. (Assuming TS don't mind me doing so.)

  • Thanks Fauxfire.  I printed the spreadsheet and use it a lot.

I hope you will make all your other spreadsheets available.  I'm more familiar with Excel, so I was glad to read that you'll be using it for your new tables.  But then maybe they won't be so easily available as google docs.

Maybe you could make it an app and earn something for all you rwork.  :  )

  • I've got all the recipes typed up in an Excel workbook. I'm now working on the breakdowns of all of them into their component parts. I should be able to finish with all of them either today or by some time tomorrow.

When I am done, I'll put them up on Google Docs. In addition, if anyone wants to download them in an Excel format, I'll see about uploading them somewhere and include a link to it as well.

The way they'll be set up is that you'll be able to change the numbers in red to however many of whatever item you want to make and it will calculate for you, the number of the most basic ingredients you'll need to make them.

  • I absolutely love it, will you be doing food :)
Posted 7 months ago by Santa Clause Subscriber! | Permalink
  • Yep! I'm doing everything. It's going to take a slight bit longer than I thought because I've decided to link everything through the various spreadsheets so that if any recipes change in the future I only have to make changes in 1 place and everything automatically updates. What I mean is, say for instance Awesome Pot has a recipe with an ingredient like a Sauce. Well what I then do is link the breakdown of that sauce with the recipe actually on the Saucepan page. Now if the recipe for that sauce changes I only have to update the one for the sauce itself and it'll update on the Awesome Pot page too! Means a lot more clicking and a lot more I have to make sure to keep straight but it'll make for a much better set of pages for you guys.

  • Typing on my phone as I'm about to crash out. I am a lot further along in the process but there's still a long way to go. Still have the food and drinks for example. Getting back to work tomorrow.

  • First of all, this is awesome! But one thing, fauxfire do you think you can break snails down further? You get about 8/9 snails per rod, so you could do a 13 or 14 metal chunks per snail calculation.
Posted 7 months ago by Candide Subscriber! | Permalink
  • Not really sure where in among the spread sheets I'd put that but I'll figure out some place. I'll probably just tack it on to the Metal Machine sheet.

Added that in. And for the record it's 10 chunks and 8 each of red, blue and green elements per 8 snails. 8 snails being an average.

  • Thank you! I can stop grabbing my calculator or scratch paper!
Posted 7 months ago by Quanta Subscriber! | Permalink
  • Hmm, is this spreadsheet editable? It seems to be... I'd advise you turn that off, if for nothing other than accidental edits (I see at least one cell in the calculations on the right that's blank)
Posted 7 months ago by Synkronos Subscriber! | Permalink
  • Yeah it is. I'm not too worried about it. I've got the original in excel format so if it gets really borked I can just re-upload it. It's supposed to be editable so that people can change the red numbers to however many they need. Still figuring out how to lock the rest of the things down though I think I just might have figured out how. It'd entail redoing a LOT of formulas so I probably won't yet.

Reverted back to a previous version. Removed anon editing. Set all the red numbers to 1. If you want to be able to change them yourself and have it recalculate you'll have to download the sheet (or message me in game some time and I'll email you the excel document).
