Woodworking? yea baby bring on the wood tree's

Okay so were all aware that wood is going to be used for our new house upgrade. We all know some people dont like wood tree's. Well tough guano for those last people. I think we should choose a region (Not Uralia or ix) And just invade it with wood tree's. I read a post about this and i thnk it's a great idea. I vote aranna for the lack of people. Everyone cast where you thing wood tree's should domain and if you think this is a good idea. I know we have the lovely wood tree route full of homes with wood tree's but i know some one is going to be addicted and need more. So why not just fill a region with them?

  • Well there are going to be people who are just going to kill them and turn them back.

  • But their will also be people who will return them back to their wood tree state. Were going to need them for future upgrades. Maybe just the rock part of aranna

  • I find I like a diversity of trees. Because then people who live in Aranna will be angry and turn them back. You can just use the wood route.

  • Eh, wood is so ephemeral at this point (I do hope they make another change to sturdy them up like they did so long ago) that I think people will find it's easier to just use the wood route and their backyard for all the wood they use.

Hopefully that will change, but that's just my prediction :) Of course the supply will probably end up being far outweighed by both the demand for wood and the soon-to-be-lack of fert dust in the world. The Wood Route will probably be decimated once this goes live for real xP

The desire for wood will turn every man and woman into a ravenous wood beast ;) Thank Grendaline the metal rocks respawn or there'd be a problem with those too!

((Thankfully I saw this coming and already gathered all the wood I foresee myself ever needing ;) 30% full SDB of planks anyone?))

  • Maybe a few streets in Ur, not a whole region though.

The wood tree route is great though! Join it :)

  • Wood is tough because it has a way higher love-to-harvest ration than other plants. Even when they don't get killed outright, they end up as stumps.

I have been hoarding wood, though... if by "hoarding" we mean "no longer using as pig food."

  • Like rachaelah said, the wood tree route is great! Especially so, now that it might be used to preserve tree diversity in greater Ur. Just bring lots of fertilidust lite.

  • Oh come on Elyd :P Why would you ever use planks as food? They're worth 5c each!

Everyone knows a pig's staple food is the humble grain. Costs you a paltry one currant ;)

  • One problem with all wood, is that the pigs can't eat it.  So, do you really want a region with no pigs?  I don't.  I favor a diversity of trees.  And now that everyone has a wood tree on their home street, there truly is not a shortage.

  • *cough* Everyone HAD a wood tree on their streets. Most people invited friends over to help chop it up into planks, or just outright poisoned it, so they could plant something else.

While there's not really a shortage, what you said isn't really true either!

  • If everyone took out the wood trees on their home streets, they clearly are not that interested in "preserving" wood trees, are they?

  • Those people aren't :) I'll agree with that. Hopefully with this new update some people will put the trees back in!

I think that was a hint from the devs a lot of people missed ;)

IE: Stock up on wood and metal now! Here are your metal rocks and wood trees, right on your street for you. Go go go!

  • What about gas plants?

  • I, for one, did not miss it.

  • @Liza, Wood trees don't run away!

I mean, I guess I could sell the planks and BUY grain, but I had a wood tree in my backyard already and all my grain went to distilling and food... and (up until the /home update) bag space has always been a more important resource consideration than currant value.

  • I was working hard to kill the wood tree on my home street and had almost accomplished it when they announced the new skills. (I had already killed the wood tree that was on my regular yard.)

I am so glad I wasn't able to kill the one on my home street and I still feel guilty every time I look at it. :(

  • I think we should designate a region for the propagation of 's.

  • Aww sorry Miss Bobbit :( I'll send a few thousand planks your way if you like :)?

  • For pig feed, zucchini is the best IMO. It has the highest yield per garden plot and is completely useless for anything else (except for Choice Crudites, which doesn't contradict the completely useless designation). LOL.

Hang onto those planks, folks! :D

  • Oh come on guys ;) Chickens? AK7? Grain? It's a perfect system! You can have thousands of grain with just a bit of effort!

And I bet zucchini sells fine to the tool vendor ;)

  • Pigs are very happy eating meat.

Wood trees are interesting because the require altruistic behavior.   You have to water and pet them and then just pass them by, or fertilidust them.  If there's demand for wood they won't live long on public streets no matter what anyone does or decides to do.

What *will* happens is that woodworkers will imagine wood plantations in their back yards.

  • I'm happy that they are interesting to you.  I find diversity much more interesting.  But that's just me.
