Updated encyclopedia: Locations added

I just noticed that the Locations area of the encyclopedia has been opened; so far, it looks like the map info pages. However, no overall map yet, which I was kind of hoping to find. I really have a very precarious overall view of the shape of the world, and was hoping to brush up on it during the downtime. Is there such a thing elsewhere?

  • I've been trying to talk up the need-desire for a composite map published by TS, but so far havn't seen one.

  • I made sure I took screencaps of all the maps (I think I got all) in the 45 minutes before the test ended. I will try to put together a map, just for giggles.

Sadly, I meant to get captures of the subway maps, because they (in theory) give a sense of relative location.

  • Lrd Bacon-O, So glad your doing that!  Have thought about it many, many times, just haven't found the time and energy..  Subway maps won't go away though, so.. there's always the next test, right? :D

  • Thank you stoot ! I tried to create the big map from screenshots; but playing the game and forums took a higher priority :)

  • I look forward to a big map, too.
In trying to figure out what the world looks like, I made my own kind of crude map on a white board by my desk here at home. Basically I was just putting the names of the areas (Bortola, Ix, Uralia, etc) with arrows connecting them. However, the world of Ur seems to be a sphere, and of course Ilmenskie is underground, so it doesn't work that well on a flat surface. I think I need to make a globe. =/

  • @Stoot "We'll be revealing the big map in the next few weeks."

    Excellent news!

I'm guessing it will be linked inWorld and am looking forward to playing with it!

Thank you and the team for your work - much appreciated.

  • Zany, I have no data to support this, but I have the impression that Glitchworld may have to be modeled in 4-dimensional space before long!

  • I was wondering if after reset, the maps and the locations of the areas will still be the same. If they are moved round it could knock a few preconceived game plans out of the window. Could be interesting.. new game for everybody.

  • Have made and posted a rough version of the Glitch world (as we know it) here (in PDF Format):

    http://dropdo.com/4zz/Glitch%20World%20Map%20as%20of%2017%20June%202011

If you click download, you can view the document in a browser window and zoom in from the floating toolbar, it will also give you the option to save the pdf to your local drive so you can have it without hitting the site.

Looks like Groddle, Ix, and Uralia are islands...looks like there is much expansion still available in Alakol/Bortola region and Shimla Mirch/Chakra Phool/Jethimadh region, and of course in the Deeps...

  • Some locations are missing from the Locations page.  In Ilmenskie Deeps, Malika Whim and Churni Sanctum aren't listed.  There may be others, too.

  • Threw together some snaps of each of the regional maps and the subway maps into a PDF.  If folks need them they are here:

    http://dropdo.com/4AB/Glitch%20Maps%20-%2006172011

Sorry the various translations and upload looks like it made some of the pictures rather grainy. It's about a 2Mb download.  These with the details on the locations pages should help many to get their strategies together between tests.  Enjoy!

  • Thanks for sharing your maps b3achy.
I hope lots of people download them and watch how the world expands and evolves. It's so nice to be able to zoom in and see all the streets and how the regions are laid out.
