2 houses? Has this already been talked about on the Forums?

So, I'm not sure if there have been threads about this yet or not.  But will it ever be an option for subscribers to own two houses?  I think that could be a benefit that would really entice more people to subscribe.  I know that subscribers aren't supposed to be given big benefits like this, but I think that its not such an advantage that it would affect game play as long as their is enough realty for all the players.

  • Stoot has said that subscriber benefits will be limited to cosmetic things.  Second houses have been discussed repeatedly, but I don't think they're likely to be implemented soon, if at all, and I strongly doubt that they'd be available as subscriber benefits.

  • This is an interesting point that I was thinking about while taking a shower a few minutes ago. From what I've read (with no game experience, mind you) I feel like implementing "business" type locations may fit within the flow of the game. That is to say, a player could own a piece of real estate that is dedicated as a learning center or perhaps a dance club or whatever the player would want to make.

It's a bit different from owning a home in that you can't keep piggys or grow trees. It's simply a location that can be dedicated for a specific activity. A place to ground the idea in a physical place.

There's no gaming benefit except for funsies.

  • Or maybe something to the effect of needing to have your papers updated and pay (currants) a Homeowner fee for any additional houses.

  • Just going sideways on this - how about the idea of lockups/warehouses?  Rent by the week/month for storage?

Here you could store things longer term, drop bags and build up an inventory, although the devs might prefer people to use their stock up.  Some people though will be hoarders, and although you can keep stuff at home I find it gets very crowded ad messy.  Also, a warehouse would be the option to have material stored in a different, second location.

  • Maybe not two houses, but would sure like the ability to kick someone out of your house. :D Or possibly house extensions.
