Don't Exist. Noob Mistakes are a myth.
The natural inclination is always to panic, but there's no need. The world is extremely forgiving, and no 'wrong' way to do things. Push the buttons, pet the trees... the dev's did not create a world that's out to get us. The worst that will happen is you might get zapped across the screen, might even pay a visit to Hell... or more often you might be taken to a space you've never seen before!
There are no real penalties to death. You died because your energy was low (nibble pigs). After completing a small task, you get to leave Hell and return to the bigger part of the world in much the same way you left it... low energy and morale. There's no XP issue, you keep all your things, nothing else gets hurt by it. The Giants like us, they don't want to see us leave.
So you dropped an 'important item', or dropped a bag full of goods when you meant to only drop the empty bag, or donated your favorite pick... not a huge issue. If you need something, ask - you'll probably wind up with 8 offers. Cash starts to become easy to come by, and you wind up collecting a hoard of extra 'stuff'. Don't sweat the favor, you'll be surprised how much you accrue by just existing and doing things.
Broke your tool and can't fix it yet... ask, people are happy to help. Low on energy and can't find a pig, someone will probably have some food for you... or might make a pig! Want to help dig but left your shovel at home... someone *might* have a spare to lend you.
Forgot to set a skill to learning... no problem, you'll eventually learn the whole table. We continue learning when we aren't playing... if the world were live and you timed things so you were learning 24/7, you would finish the skill table in about a month... is an extra 2 days really a big difference? Picked the wrong one? You can pause the first and change to a different one. Didn't complete the Quest... it's in your Log and you can try again. Lost? Say something... someone will get you found.
So don't panic. Don't worry about doing things perfectly. There is no perfect, and perfect is boring anyhow.
It's fun, relax, enjoy.
(EDIT: With the move to beta the skill table got some time adjustments. It takes longer than a month, but the advice still applies.)
