First Timer

I only played for about an hour today but I really like the game so far...haven't run into any major bugs except my avatar got stuck going left. I hit the left arrow button and that fixed it.

  • My only "glitches" (pun intended) were that I need to learn better control over jumping. Obviously that's a me-thing, and not a game-thing. I'm excited!

Today was my first day too, but I only got to play for about 20 minutes between work, dinner, and then cutoff... Looking forward to the next trial

  • First timmer too. No major "glitches-bugs" found. I also need to gain control of my keyboard which I hadn't used for years, he he. I only noticed a little bit of lagging, sometimes, when changing instances.

The garlic/kissing goal made me laugh!!!!!!
Great fun! Thanks for the invitation :)

  • I really enjoyed the test run today although I didn't know what I was doing half the time. I don't have the hang of the "jump" yet but will work on it next time we are allowed in. Did not encounter any problems in game play besides those of my own causing (using mouse instead of keyboard). Looking forward to playing some more

  • I really had a good time, kind of wandering around, but nice to see some familiar names. I think I will study the wiki before next test. So glad to get the chance to play!

  • I had fun but even with the wiki, there is nothing that tells you when you buy a bigger bag you have to drop you old one and that everything in the bag disappears. There should be a warning that says something like ..do you know that when you drop your generic bag all the contents will be lost as well. :)

  • Had a lot of fun playing this game today. Wandering around getting completely lost. And then going down some steps only to discover that I can't get out, because I can't seem to jump back up the steps and I don't have a key to the door. Anyone have a rope to pull me out?:}

  • Middle - Most of us carry several bags/containers, you can put one in each slot of your inventory if you would like. There are even different types of containers.. I personally carry around a toolbox, spice rack, a handful of big bags and several small ones depending on what I'm off to go do. I leave my alchemy stuff and the spare parts at home.

Before I had a home to leave them in, I only carried around the raw components (bubbles, gas, beans, cherries, allspice) and only converted what I needed at the moment.

  • Hmmm, thank you MA, making notes on that little bit of info! Probably doesn't matter if they are doing a reset, my understanding is you start all over and lose all progress anyway, so you will have a second chance. Of course, I'm new too...so may be wrong!

  • I'm a first timer, too, and had so much fun today! I think this game will be awesome when it goes live (drops) -- it's totally addictive, has smart humor, and the visual style is great.

  • Ok, just got my invite and am really pleased to be onboard :))

World is closed at the minute for me, so I will have to wait to see all the awesomeness there is when there is the next test.

  • Liked it. No major problems. Minor problems of lag and sticking sometimes when using the mouse which were mostly cleared up by reverting back to the keyboard momentarily and "jumping" by using the space bar. I didn't really know what I was doing most of the time but the tutorial is pretty good in telling you WHAT you need. It's your job to find out HOW though. I like that challenge :)

  • Glad you all enjoyed the test and definitely check out the wiki and suggest things for it as well. We want to get a "basic knowledge page going so tell us stuff that confused you.

The lag can get pretty bad, just stay away from active projects though and you should be fine.

  • I was a " first timer " today also and LOVE this game. I do think there needs to be more instruction on how to increase your inventory but I was lucky enough to test with a great bunch of people who were very helpful. I had a blast and with the exception of a few minor freezing issues I had no problems playing. Hope to test again soon :)

  • Glad it went over so well! Many of you pointed out that more instruction is needed in several areas early on: we're definitely aware of this are planning to revamp the new player experience soon. The core tutorial will be similar (and as short as we can make it, while adding more details on mouse vs keyboard) but we'll add more involved tutorial-ish early quests to familiarize people with the basics.

In fact, spending a few hours greeting new players gave me a really good idea (I think) on how to do just that :)

  • Thank you for the invite to play, it was my first time playing as well. Being an older lady, I am used to clicking where I want to go and when I used the mouse, it did stick a bit and sometimes I couldn't stop moving,I don't like to use the arrow keys as I have to look down all the time, another thing was, I didn't know how to chat in the game, I saw everyone else's talk bubbles but not mine. Seems a wonderful game though and I thoroughly enjoyed it, I can't wait to play again.
