I'm curious. From the small number of posts on here this seems to be related to being on a mac. Is anyone who is playing on PC or Linux having this issue?
I'm playing on a Windows 7 PC. Having this issue with Chrome(with built-in Flash 11), Firefox(with built-in Flash 10 latest ver, and the debug ver) and IE(latest Flash). I have no proxy running, Windows Firewall disabled, and I'm pretty sure my ISP doesn't have any transparent proxies or filtering.
I can't get past the loading screen either. Chrome on Windows 7, no proxy and firewall disabled. This coincided with me changing ISPs, but I went to a mainstream provider.
Hey all- we've been looking into situations in which you get this specific error connecting to the site. We have some basic suggestions here but Flash isn't allowing *some* of you to connect in a way that normally works fine.
The error I'm getting most recently is "Error #2048: Security sandbox violation: www.glitch.com/swf/DEBUGBoo... cannot load data from gs6.us-east.ec2.tinyspeck.com:1443." I don't see a crossdomain.xml being exchanged, but raw TCP analysis makes it look like gs6 resets a connection on 843 - if that's supposed to be Flash getting the crossdomain.xml, maybe that's the problem?
Are you able to recreate this issue? If not, feel free to contact me via email if I can provide any more information.
Have reinstalled Flash, no firewall/proxy etc. Restarted router/computer/browser. Tried with Firefox, IE, Opera, Chrome and no matter what I'm getting this error.
Sad because I only just heard about this game and I'm really intrigued, hopefully the issue gets fixed :D.
I now get a friendly "... unable to reach the game server ..." error. Assume that's deliberate, but it means I can't send bug reports consisting entirely of sad faces when it doesn't connect :(
doublehappy, we're working on a page to help you diagnose your connection. Do you have a second computer you could try, or from another location? It's most likely that you are on a network that forbids games, or your computer has a firewall set up.
I was able to play on one ISP (a small private provider run by the apartment building I'm in) but I recently switched to a different provider and that coincided with this error. The provider (www.orcon.co.nz) does not appear to forbid games - well, its marketing is pro games and apparently it has dedicated gaming servers, etc. - and I have disabled Windows firewall.
Realistically, I could unplug one connection and plug back into the other one when I wanted to play Glitch, but that's not ideal and the other connection is unbelievably slow.
Update: Called them, they asked for a ping/traceroute and sent it to their assurance dept., just got a reply saying they don't think it's them and there's just a coding error on Glitch's part.
Thought to try this, I use it to get lower pings in regular mmo's - it has a browser connection mode. Start that up, restart the browser, ta-dah! Connected to glitch successfully.
