[not a bug] starting a jump from mid-air (now with repro goodness)

Repro Steps
-----------
Get on the leftmost floating island in Cebarkul.
Walk off the right edge.
Hit the space bar while you are airborne (can be immediate or after a short wait).

Expected Behavior
-----------------
Jump command is ignored.

Actual Behavior
---------------
Jump command is executed.

Sometimes I've noticed I can jump with the space bar when I'm in the middle of a jump, haven't landed yet. I suspected I could do it in the mines where you can jump from island to island. It's happening for sure in Cebarkul. It seems to be happening when I'm jumping from one location to another (island to island, island to ground) where the ground is fairly close under me. If I'm mid-jump between islands with the ground far below, doesn't seem to happen.

  • Does this end up as a double jump behavior then? Or just freezing?

  • double jump. I'm off to figure out how to reproduce it. Haven't been able to do it in Groddle Forest.

  • So the way jumping works is that you can jump once anytime your feet leave the ground. That means if you walk off a ledge, you can still jump once before you hit the ground. So from the repro steps you provided you've actually found a feature, not a bug (I kinda like it, personally!). If you can figure out a way to leave the ground by jumping and then jump again mid-air, though, then that's definitely a problem.

  • I was just gonna post that, seems to be only when you walk off an edge. It's saved me more than once in the caverns. So, it's not a double jump as far as I can tell. It only looked like a double cuz I couldn't see the ground I'd just jumped off of, the round just becoming visible at the bottom of the screen as i tried the 2nd jump.
