BUYER BEWARE IN THE AUCTIONS!!!

Glitch allows people to auction things that can't be used in the game -- pumpkin seeds are no longer able to be planted, but the game lets people auction pumpkin seeds and rob money from others at a premium because we still have pumpkin recipes but we're not allowed to use the seeds currently in the game.  I wasted hundreds of currants in the auctions to complete recipes that require pumpkins, but I can only "lament" the seeds.  How does this make sense?  Is this supposed to be a life lesson about trust or something?  I get plenty of those outside the game, thank you.  I understand they are seasonal -- fine, so remove the seeds from the vendors after a certain date, and make it impossible to get seeds from the piggies.  But literally making the seeds able to be sold at a premium even though they can't be used is unfair and deceptive.

  • You can use them the next time Zilloween rolls around - in about 55 RL days. You will be ahead of everyone else who has to run to a seed vendor.

  • They're semi retired items, available once a month for only a few days.  Supply goes down, prices go up.  It's basic economy, regardless of their usefulness.

  • I'm going to assume you've read the above comments, but I'd like to add that even if they were 100% retired, some people like to collect one of every item, whether or not those items can be used. Besides, with the going rate of pumpkin seeds (I just checked, 89ish currants per), it's hardly a bank-breaker. :P

  • I say this with kindness- how are you at such a high level and unaware of the seasonal availability of pumpkins?   To get to lvl 34 you have to have spent a fair amount of time in-game, no?

As to the auctions, it's always buyer beware with ANY item.  I noticed someone temporarily jacked the prices up recently on common keys- a newbie wouldn't know that a they were paying 1200c for a key that is normally 45c unless they'd been around a while.  It's buyer beware as long as there's a human element to the auctions, and that's a great thing.

  • I do have to ask, why did you choose to buy something you didn't have an immediate use for anyway? Its not like the item description does not tell you all you need to know before you make your purchase http://www.glitch.com/items/pumpkin-seed/ . The description for Pumpkin also has a warning in a nice highlighted box that it is a seasonal item.

  • Before you buy or do anything, research, research, and research.

  • (Sorry about the keys- I wanted a 50k house. Now that I have it, I leave keys everywhere, give loads out and always invite people to follow in if I'm going someplace like Neva Neva... so I like to think I've balanced it out somewhat from that slight bit of naughtiness.  Interestingly, it rarely took the market more  than an hour to readjust on the most common keys- longer on the less commons.)

  • Next Zilleoween is on Jan 11 at 8pm (EST). Pumpkin growing season should be a few days before that.
