Idiosyncracies of Chrome

Several have been mentioned in previous tests but the one that annoys me the most is that in Chrome when I click on the info tab for a player I meet in-game, the act of going to that player's profile page throws me out of the world, forcing me to reload to resume play.
This doesn't happen in Firefox, where the action has the player profile open in another tab.
I'm clicking on "player info" to discover level, if this a new player, someone who might need help, or someone who has be alpha testing for months and is likely to be insulted if I offer to help them make salt.
I also don't want to go around asking " you new?" all the time; sounds like a lame pick-up line.

  • I do not have this happen for me in Chrome. It opens a new tab when clicking the info. I'm not sure why it does not open a new tab for you, but I will see what I can find out.

  • I haven't had this issue either (Chromium, Ubuntu x64)

  • do you have an ad-blocker (NoScript or ABP), maybe - I think I had this once and found this was the problem.

  • This doesn't happen to me in Chrome either, but you can force Chrome to open the 'Info' (or any link, for that matter) in a new tab in a number of ways:
    * Click the middle mouse button or the wheel on the link;
    * Right-click on the link, then select open in new tab;
    * Press and hold the Ctrl key and click the left mouse button on the link.

  • I'll  play in Chrome on the next test and see if it's still happening for me.
    I'll also check to make sure I've disabled the pop-up blocker.
     Those are good tips Kaushka;
     I expect most new players would just click on the info link and expect a new tab.

  • This wasn't happening to me in previous tests or earlier in this test, but now it is! I didn't change any preferences so I'm not sure why info is suddenly loading in my game tab instead of a new tab like it was before. ):

  • And this time around it's opening in a new tab for me..  and as far as I can tell I've changed nothing.
