  • Interesting that it shows a cost of 50i, but the card shows 6,000i.

  • Also, the description reads:

This is the "starter" Triple Jump. Try it on for size!

This leads me to think that there may be future upgrades giving larger triple jumps.

  • Nice catch on the price inconsistency. Perhaps this upgrade isn't meant to be visible just yet. Oops.

  • perhaps it's a GlitchOlympics event?

  • #'s 2 and 3 are 8k and 10k respectively... so I guess the 50i is inaccurate and 6k is correct.

    6k to jump?!?! Wha?

  • I smell a conspiracy: the cards aren't there.

    either that or mass hallucinations.

  • I saw this the other day and posted an update about it- but a "tester "account is logged in now (and was the other day as well) - and that tester account has some interesting upgrades. check this :

    looks interesting.

  • Looking at serenitycat's link.... an upgrade just to unlock the map? I really hope that one doesn't make it into the game.

  • Zigniber - Given the tiny amounts of iMG that those upgrades cost, and how basic they are to gameplay, I would guess they're intended to be purchased during the tutorial.
Posted 5 months ago by Tathak Subscriber! | Permalink
  • Okay, that would actually make a lot of sense. I'll support it if that's the case. It never hurts to introduce things gradually during a tutorial.
Posted 5 months ago by Zigniber Subscriber! | Permalink
  • Or, but it would make more sense if people that were actually playing (after tutorial, or when these are released, us) could get these upgrades.

I'm guessing the super tiny iMG costs are actually just placeholders for now.

  • I wish there was an upgrade card to increase the number of fibers when fox brushing.

  • @ Harley: Thanks for reference. I have this card but only get an average of 40 fibers per brushing. Another upgrade card that would give even more would be nice. By the time I found out about using eyeballery when brushing, it was nerfed :(

  • I am guessing these are things doled out during the tutorial to teach them about buying update cards.

  • All of these "essential" gameplay features requiring an upgrade card to "unlock" them really reminds me of these games:

    Upgrade Complete

    Upgrade Complete 2

Those games require you to buy an upgrade to access any feature in the game, even the preloader requires an upgrade.

I also changed the topic title to better reflect what this topic is about now.

  • @Aliera I was thinking the exact same thing :) I'm thinking we might have the equivalent of the second level of all these cards, and the third is to be an actual upgrade for a longtime player, while the first two may be intended to be purchased as part of the upgrades tutorial.

The tutorial may even give a new glitch some stipend of iMG to start with, the way we get 1000c or whatever when we start the game. :)

    Speculation is so fun ;)

  • I think these were basic cards that most players at the time of reimagination of UR already received (but don't show up?) and will be dealt only to newer players once they are allowed in?

    Just a hypothesis

  • I will say this: I logged on yesterday on an alt account that is very low level (starter), and I could barely walk and not really jump at all.  I could have used those upgrade cards!  The irony...I could only reach 1 in 3 QQ's I came across, and those img's would have funded my upgrades.
Posted 5 months ago by Nanookie Subscriber! | Permalink
  • @Nanookie Is there anyway that you could make a YouTube video that demonstrates what the new starting jump height and walking speeds look like. Or anyone else who has a level 1 Alt account.
Posted 5 months ago by TRB4 Subscriber! | Permalink
  • @Nanook Aww, what a terrible position to be in! I'd say that's more reason to believe these will be tutorial upgrades :) I can't imagine TS would allow that to happen to poor low level glitchen as part of an early game experience. That would really turn off the completely new casual gamer type, I think. So yeah, thinking tutorial experience :) Can't wait to experience it for myself :)

  • It looks like some of them are now listed in the Encyclopedia on the Perks Page

Strangely they only list the first level of triple jump and the first 2 levels of walking and jumping. Also the cost for Baby Triple Jump and the High Jumper cards are incorrect.

These are most definitely "Tutorial" upgrade cards. There is now an upgrade card required to even start learning skills.
Posted 5 months ago by TRB4 Subscriber! | Permalink
  • I would definitely guess "Skill Learning" is one you upgrade in the tutorial.
Also guessing that these showing up means the tutorial is nearing completion... which means possibly opening the game back to invites... and possibly nearing "Launch 2: The Relaunchening."

  • Yeah, Stoot mentioned that upgrades to give lots of basic stuff will be part of the pacing of the tutorial, so I think that's what all or almost all of these new cards we're seeing in "perks" are.

  • rofl @"Upgrade Complete"
Posted 5 months ago by Mablem Tiipot Subscriber! | Permalink
  • When these new upgrades are released, I wonder if we also be unable to use them until we buy the upgrades...

  • Launch 2: Electric Boogaloo
    Launch 2: Launch Harder
Posted 5 months ago by Aliera Subscriber! | Permalink
  • Launch 2: Prepare for noobs
    "This time it's public!"
Posted 5 months ago by TRB4 Subscriber! | Permalink
  • Also, while releasing the tutorial and reopening invites is a prerequisite to relaunch, it'll be a while between the two I think.
Posted 5 months ago by Fnibbit Subscriber! | Permalink
  • I noticed that more of these upgrades are slowly making their way into the upgrades page! Wonder if the tutorial is almost finished??
