The Still

The Still.  Love the idea.

I'm a moonlight distiller myself. If you make it to my neck of the woods ask about my honey vanilla vodka.  My honey, organic vanilla pods from down south in the state, distilled/blended into something I'm quite proud of.  (Also, we need beehives up in Glitch.)

But the Still icon is lame.  Please lose the spigot on the pot.  The final product comes out of the coils and the spigot is very likely misleading to most.  My issue- Getting the populace to understand the mechanics of making something so beneficial (and tasty!) is a fundamental brick to not demonizing the juice.  High Horse...I have dismounted.  Thank you and rock on.

  • I think the noise it makes is too high tech. I expect those beeps to come from some kind of expensive espresso/coffee machine. Otherwise, love it!

  • Your honey vanilla vodka sounds heavenly. I wonder if you are a fellow West Virginian? Great tradition of shine cooking in many flavors around here, but I've never encountered a honey vanilla vodka.

  • Your honey vanilla vodka sounds amazing. I blend/infuse cordials  (no room for anything more than mason jars in my tiny apartment), and I'll have to try my hand at something similar next time I make a batch.

  • My mom is from West Virginia.  She recently told me the only familiarity with distilling was my great uncle's consumption and she and a few fellow grade-schoolers busting up a still because "whatever it was" didn't look like it amounted to much.  The owner came through the neighborhood drunk and hollering for the head of whoever had done it.  They kept quiet.  For perspective, this all took place in a tiny mining town.  Only one housing area and, apparently, no way anyone who didn't live there had been the destroyers.

For the record, I only distill in countries where it is legal ;)

  • Come on, it's a game. We massage butterflies and milk them. We can teleport. We have pet rocks that learn everything on our behalf. Who cares if the still doesn't work the way a real life still does? That's just how Friendly imagined it (and as a friend pointed out to me, he was probably drunk at the time) ;)

  • Gotta agree with the Rev. here.  Ur is a land borne from the thoughts of the giants.  If Friendly imagines a still with a spigot that beeps, so it is.

I will say though, my real life Bubble Tuner is way different.

  • Lol!  I would like the spigot to be higher.  When I stand on the left side to collect, the jug goes up my skirt.  Also, the sound is more like liquid on metal but the jugs seem to be earthenware.  That "metal" sound gives me a giggle every time, especially when I am standing on the left side.
