Potential research timer exploit?

I have not tested this yet, but was hoping for confirmation as to whether this was theoretically possible. Say my skill tree has 6 skills on it that will all take 3 hours each to research, but I am one skill away from my skill cap and will need Better Learning soon. Now, if I were to research one of these skills in three hours, the timer on the others will go up significantly for each subsequent skill (for arguement's sake let's say a 2nd skill will now take 4 hours, the 3rd skill will now take 5 hrs, etc) because I need to research better learning.

But, what if instead of researching each of these skills one at a time (thus incurring increasing research times) I instead research each one down to one minute remaining, and before it completes, I switch to the next. I continue this until I have all 6 skills at one minute remaining. When I complete the last minute on the first skill (and hitmy knowedge penalty cap), how will this affect the 1 minute remaining on the 5 other skills? Will the game still think I just have one minute left on each? Or will it know to add more research time to the remaining 1 min to adjust for the knowledge cap penalty?

  • It was like that a while ago, but not any longer. To prevent this, the learning-time penalty now kicks in when you start learning a new skill, and applies to the whole learning-time of all the others, even those you started learning, no matter how much time you have left.
