Meanwhile, back at the farm...

While the miners and cooks are busy arguing, I'd like to issue a call to all you gardeners, soil aficionados and botanists. Let's stoke the fires of their discontent and while they're busy arguing with each other about the relative merits of rocks vs. pasta, we gardeners can quietly take over Glitch!

I have nothing against mining or cooking. After all mining can be a quick way to earn enough money to buy a house so you can have a proper garden of your own. It is a good means to an end, but who would choose it as an end of itself?

Cooking is useful for a gardener, you have to do something with all that produce. But anybody who can read a recipe can cook.

Gardening is a craft and an art that can only be mastered by the wisest and most patient of Glitches. Our gardens feed Glitches and our trees beautify the landscape and provide shade on a sunny day. Without trees and gardens Glitch would be as barren and ugly as the inside of a mine and the cooking pots would be empty.

So, let's join together in the effort to beautify Glitch and share our knowledge of the fine art of gardening:

  • I'm on to you. Watch it >:( Just because I'm battling with the miners doesn't mean I can't take on another enemy.

Just kidding. Go right ahead :D

  • I'm with you.  I just didn't, ya know, fit in with the miners or cooks.  This is perfect.

    And cupcake:  you're on.

  • I like them all :D

In FS my favorite things to do were growing, combining and cooking foods so I had hoped that this game had at least some of that to do...boy am I in Heaven now that I know AND I get to mine, too!

I just wish I could plant all of the different types of trees in my yard instead of just 3  :D

  • 85 > 6
I will tie anyone who trys to defy me to a post, castrate them, and force fancy picks and mining skills on them under torture.

  • I'm a real life gardener too. You definitely have to try gardening! It's one of the most developed skill trees (pardon the pun). There's 19 skills to learn, that's more than any other skill set!

  • I'm a gardener in RL, too. My first go round, I did all the gardening skills early on, then discovered that I should have been mining.  This time, I pushed into mining, but have been wishing I had the gardening skills!  They are prerequisites for some useful things, too, like Botany.

  • Oh I definitely think you need some mining so that you can earn money to buy your house and bags, and equipment and so on. I think it's impossible to really just do one skill set at the exclusion of others. My own plan is to do an initial amount of mining just to earn enough money for a house and then focus on gardening and alchemy (can't make seasoned beans to plant without alchemy skills). I'll throw in a bit of beginning cooking when I feel like a quick skill & quest during slower times. :)

  • I agree, I'd be in the  "I like all the skills, dam*&t" group, cause I (eventually) want a chicken and a pig, garden, trees..on & on. I went with mining after reading its the best way to get that wonderful tool, money. I'll probably keep mining from time to time, too, just for that reason. Heck, a bit of whacking, and I got a 2000i diamond! And if I can cook my own foods, I wont be running all over trying to find the right vendor. Ahh, so many skills to learn. This game is sweeeet!
