  • Plexus was a full party. As was BeatFreqs.  I wanted to jump between both but it didn't quite work that way. But it was nice not to have the lockups like the last party and yet Plexus still had 68 people at a peak. In fact I understand Plexus's designer showed up at the end. Good test of his layout and code. Spreading the party to two or more streets was great. I will be checking out locations myself for the next EOTW party. I have some ideas :)

  • I made it to my third (?) EOT party this week!  Usually I'm in my house getting food made for the next test and organizing my bags, but the hub wasn't home from work yet and I felt like exploring.  I picked up a few gameshow tickets, dropped a ton of purple that I'd been collecting over the last few days, and watched y'all make a conga line!  And then I was overwhelmed with all the busy chatter and movement and hightailed it outta there!  I had planned on visiting Plexus but read in Global that there were a ton of people, so I decided to take advantage of the swamps being empty and made a barnacle run.  ;)

A few comments on other stuff that has come up in this topic...

I am not very much of an extremely social player.  In fact, I chatted this morning for quite a while in Global and that was *extremely* out of the ordinary for me.  I prefer it when parties are in a public location so that I can drop in and out without a lot of trouble and not feel obligated to hang around longer than I'd like.  That's just *me* though, and I understand and appreciate that people are excited when a new area is open.  I am as well, but I like to check it out when it's not quite so busy.  I get a lot more pleasure out of chatting with a few people in a "party" chat while I am doing tasks and grinding basics, than I do out of standing around and chatting which quite a few people seemed to want to do this test.  Apparently that makes me an odd duck, but I'm OK with that.

Perhaps with the growing number of players, the EOT party should evolve a bit?  Have it over a few streets (main street and a few connected sides) instead of just one giant street or two parties completely across the map from each other.  That would help with flash crash and make for more to do.

I do hope that the parties continue after launch in some form.  Maybe a month-end party?  A Glitch month, not a real month.  :D

  • Hburger has promised video of the Plexus party, for both those who couldn't/didn't make it to both parties and those who just like to see themselves on-screen. ;)

  • @Mahalla - Actually that distributed party is what I had in mind. :)

  • so hey, it turns out that two end of the world parties *is* feasible, which is pretty cool!

i hope i didn't ruffle too many feathers with my comments - sure, i enjoy the parties that are more spontaneous, and yes, i was a bit grumpy about what i perceived to be over-promotion.  but at the end of the test, there is more than enough room in glitch for glitches with different playstyles and ideas and amounts of nudity and all the rest.

thanks to the people who made the jellyfish party so fun.  i had honestly planned to go at some point to the 'official' party, and am not even really sure how two parties became 'official', but as it turned out, i was having so much fun in the flying congas and romping around the purple power installation, that before i knew it, it was goodnight groddle time!

i say we all won the test, or were *just* about to when the servers shut down...

Well put:) And it wasn't you personally (as I said, nothing was in my post) ruffling feathers. I could just tell from the thread and comments in game, that feathers were generally ruffled:) Maybe the chickens took hold of our souls for a few minutes! :D

Thanks for all the responses. I love how we can have meaningful discourse here. BLESS!

  • I think it worked out well in two spots. I'm pretty new to these parties, but I find when there are too many people, local chat is going by too quickly, plus you get lag. I only hit up Feman Falters, but it was good clean, purple fun. ;)

  • I have always seemed to miss the EOT parties until yesterday and had so much fun I hope not to ever miss another one.  It was so like a real party, even the conga line.  Pure blast, totally cool.  Huge thanks RM for taking us for such a high ride :)
Sure you could not have a discussion per se but that is how parties usually go even in RL.  The idea of more than one party seems right, why limit Glitchees to just one party.  I love to go party hopping so the more parties the better.  Best part everyone was there because they wanted to be so everyone seemed to just be happy.  The best state of mind in to be truly happy.

  • Isn't this what I was saying the whole time? No one ever listens to me.

  • The party at Feman Falters was my frist EOTW party and I was curious what all the fuss was about. The part I like most was being able to work on my race quests and to help oithr folks with theirs. Everything else was an added bonus. Plus the final music as the servers were coming down was amazing.

Thanks to everyone who helped put it together and to the devs and others a Tiny Speck who made it possible.
