gnome messages - persistence/triggering

Many people use house gnomes to deliver information to visitors, especially on the Housing Resource Routes, but messages often pop out of view too quickly.

Ideas:
1) gnomes could be triggered by a verb, so we could see their messages, or
2) gnomes' messages could appear in local chat, so we could read them.

  • Or both! I vote both! For those occasions when the gnomes aren't feeling talkative.

  • Agreed!! I've spent a lot of time running back and forth on streets trying desperately to get messages to re-trigger.

  • I am all in favour of better Gnome communication, by any means.

  • +1! Although I hope when our magic rock familiars move onto our street, they can take over some of this functionality for the routes, this is still a really really great idea.

  • Yep, there have been many requests for something like this. I've suggested using gnomes as a portal via the API for example.

  • I suspect the forthcoming Botlers are going to handle messaging much better than gnomes.
