Things That Don't Give XP (that I think Should)

Repairing Tools (This is a huge one... this takes SO much energy!  Why does it give 0 xp no matter your tinkering skill level??)
Creating Elements
Squeezing chickens (maybe only gives xp if your mood is *maxxed*??)
Shaking Milk
Compressing Butter
Aging Cheese
Applying guano to plots
Singing to & Capturing Fireflies - another massively energy intensive one... why no xp for it??

... There are probably more, I'll edit this post as I find them..

  • I think shaking milk/compressing butter is another one.

  • OH yeah Kaya that's another hugely energy intensive one!  Thanks, added it to the list!!

  • Creating elements at least doesn't take energy, right?  I could bargain with that one staying no XP if the energy hog activities started giving it.

  • a related issue has to do with singing to butterflies. yes you do get XP, but I can't really see a good reason. I keep expecting something else to come of it

  • I was surprised that making fuel cells and blocks/bricks don't give xp.  Admittedly, they don't take much energy, but in a game where you get xp for making flour, I was just kinda surprised.

@Petra, early on in my glitch adventures, I kept waiting for some badge to pop up about singing to the butterflies....it does seem like it would lead to something at some point.

  • I think that if it takes energy to do something, it should give some XP too. If it doesn't take any energy to do (such as fertilizing plots or making compounds) then it makes sense that it doesn't give XP. I can also see that fertilizing doesn't take energy to do, but it's not a true necessity, it only speeds up the growing of things, and you could just go about doing other things and come back later for it. Compounds, on the other hand, are a neccessity in that you do need them for powders. What I'm trying to say is that, if some stuff does give us XP, make it for neceesary actions like creating cheese, compounds and some of the other things. You also don't get XP for feeding pigs or batterflies either, but you DO get good things out of it, nonetheless.

  • You got xp for butter/cheese but this was changed as you could earn TONS of xp with milk and nono.

  • I agree ... considering the skill tree required for repairing and block/fuelmaking, there should be some XP reward; but squeezing chickens gives 2 XP with AK7 and top mood (winking icon)

  • Yeah but with no-no the xp you get for anything is greatly reduced, it's like 1/8th of what you'd normally get. So that makes no sense they'd remove the xp from milk to cheese / butter.

  • ... watering doesn't take energy either but gives mood and xp bonuses... hence why I thought fertilising should...

  • Strange thing that does give XP that I wouldn't expect: Dispersing elements.
