From Glitchlog:
Vendors are no longer selling four 'premium tools', but with the right skills, tinkerers can now craft them for compats and customers alike.
A nice change, IMO. The less crafted items available at vendors, the better.
Might be able to create a off-line store front using the auctions and the Glitch API. I thought about it today. I'm booked solid project-wise or I'd try it.
Some people have been working on street fairs. I saw a notice for one today, but I was busy nursing a wood tree and couldn't make it :( It's probably gone by now too.
@ stoot...will y'all be putting a usage indicator on the tools in the auction?
It's not cool when you buy one just to find out it needs to be repaired.
I see the appeal of driving crafting to be better than store bought. I also see the reason for wanting to push players towards interacting with other players instead of playing solo. However, it can often be a real hassle as well for certain other players.
The moment someone starts shopping for a "deluxe tool", this change sets in and the shops stops carrying them. Follow this up by a quick "price jump" of these deluxe tools on the Auction House and things get annoying REAL fast.
