Unlearning

When it comes, will be able to unlearn and learn at the same time? Otherwise it seems like unlearning would just be a negative. It would take up space in your mind AND take time to learn itself, correct?

Or are all my assumptions on Unlearning mechanics wrong :)?

  • If I remember correctly, learning the Unlearning skill will take some finite amount of time (not sure how much until it is introduced). Once you have this skill, unlearning an already learned skill will take the same amount of time as it took to learn the skill (not sure how Better Learning enters into this equation). I haven't read anything that leads me to believe that unlearning one skill while learning another will be simultaneous.

  • Link to the info we had.
You can follow that to the higher levels of Unlearning and it will give even more of an idea how it would develop.
So after you learn Unlearning 1, you could unlearn an old skill in half the time it took to learn it.
At Unlearning 2, you'd unlearn in 15% of the time.
3 in 5% of the time.

But all of that is quite old so might have changed, be changing, etc.

  • Yeah :l I remember that from beta... Mostly the questions I had were about whether it would take up space in our minds and the simultaneousness. Which weren't indicated back in beta. :P

Well, we are just speculating, cuz we don't know how it will work, but it seems like it'd be faster to just learn the other skills that get introduced rather then put time into learning unlearning and then actually doing it.

Though the total time IS only on the order of hours, and not days like better learning.

I suppose I'll work the figures at a time when we have more information. :P
