  • No!  They must be drunken kangaroos that you pay with beer, and they harvest resources and fill their pouches until they sober up.  Then they leave and you have to entice another.

  • it would be possible to arrange the game so that you wouldn't have to do anything at all.  I don't think that's much of a game goal though.

  • Automating harvesting doesn't make it so there's nothing to do.  I still have plenty of things I do with meat and milk.   Stoot actually said in an interview with a Vancouver outlet that they plan to create more automated resources, more things that will continue to collect in our absence.   I think there's nothing wrong with long-term players learning advanced skills that let them focus less on harvesting and more on crafting or selling, especially as we move toward a player-driven economy.

    But I still think they should be drunken kangaroos.

  • To the OP: I really don't think you're rebuked.  I'm willing to bet someday something like you propose will happen.  Probably not via the butlers as they have their roles---but certainly through some other item, friend, animal, or robot + skills that will eventually enter the game.
