Set "Home" arrival point

I would like to be able to set the spot at which I arrive when I return /home.

I would like the option to have it be a specific spot on my public home street. I would like the option to have it be inside my house, in my back yard, on my second or third floor, or wherever else I care to designate. (Heck, even our butlers have designated return spots! :D )

I currently have one of my teleport points set to inside my house, but it is a huge waste of energy and a teleport usage and so I only use it when I'm in a big hurry to get something specific out of my house and get back to Ur.

Personally, I can say for sure that MOST of the time I have no interest in arriving on my public home street. But I'm sure there are some people who actually prefer that. It would be truly terrific for each of us to be able to choose this for ourselves. (Maybe it's an upgrade?)

  • One iMG charge, and then a deduction of some energy every time?

  • Excellent idea. As it is, there are things I do in a particular order as soon as I arrive; it'd be sweet to be able to be right there to do them automatically.

As an upgrade, I'd like to see one iMG charge and the option to alter that spot for a greatly increased iMG amount.

  • I like the idea in general, but I would most often like to be returned to where I was when I left my home area.  At the moment, whether I arrive on my street or in my house seems to be kind of random.  It is not even reliably tied to where I was when I last went back to Ur, as far as I can tell.

  • You sometimes arrive in your home, KhaKhonsu???

I never return to my house, I am always returned to my street.

Anybody else have KhaKhonsu's experience? (Everyone else I've discussed this with to-date has had the same experience as I have.)

  • I haven't been obsessive about tracking it, but sometimes I arrive in my house, occasionally even on one of the upper floors if that's where I left from.

  • I am not so sure about this one... I think if I could set my return point to inside my house (which would usually be most efficient) I would miss out on a lot of what has happened (or is happening) on my street. Being in a hurry I would not find out who visited and I might not see the gifts my neighbors left or things I set out that might need replenishing and I would not bump into my visitors and make new friends.  :(

It would be like those real life neighborhoods where all the houses have attached garages and you never actually SEE your neighbors. They just drive into their houses and disappear. I don't want Glitch to be like that.

So I would have to say -1.  It would be convenient but I think we would miss out on too much.  What's the hurry?  Let's slow down and enjoy the view.

I am always returned to the exact same spot of my Home Street, just outside my door. I keep my spare icons on that spot so that I often get Giant love when I get back, when I 'land'

  • Miss Bobbitt, you have often pointed out that how one person prefers to play is not how another would choose it. So, why not let us choose this navigation issue for ourselves?

For example, I do check in with my butler, once a game-day when I play. But I don't particularly enjoy having to go through my home street every single time I want to fetch something from my house.

  • KhaKhonsu, are recalling the times when you have exited the game and logged back in to find yourself in your house?  When i return to my home street from the Ur world I always end up in the exact same spot on my home street BUT when I log out of the game while inside my house, then log back in i find myself in the very same spot inside my house when I left.  Maybe that's what you're thinking of.

PS: -1 for the same reasons Miss Bobbit, despite the fact that I find myself thinking occasionally that I wish i could just go directly home.  There is already a reduced interaction/exploration of Ur, i feel that reducing the potential interactions on our home streets would be detrimental to the game community.

  • You must have very different experiences than I do, Coconut (which is part of the Joy of Glitch). I think I've actually encountered someone on my home street a grand total of maybe THREE times since the new housing debuted.

I simply don't get a lot of traffic, and even if I did, I'd STILL like to set my /home point inside my house. You would be free to do otherwise!

  • I would just kind of like to go 'home' when I go home. If I wanted to go to my home 'street' I'd have chosen that, now wouldn't I?

    I'm just sayin'.   ;)

It's a nuisance to have to load your home street, and *then* load your house when all you want to do is pop back and grab those jars of EHSP you stashed to keep them safe from the Juju Bandit Queen's tame Lag Dragon.

I almost never want to be at my home street when I /home. I would much rather have the option to set a point somewhere in my house -- even if it's only a choice between house and home street.

And I offer up "/house" as a suggestion way to do this, at least at first

I don't think implementing this feature would harm anyone's game play or harm the game itself in any way; it would merely give the people who wish to bypass the home street a way to do so. That said, I seem to recall somewhere a dev saying this probably wouldn't happen. Maybe for logistic reasons? Even so, I am plus-one-ing it, just in case. I particularly like the idea of /house being the command for this.
