Cannot buy animal eggs from Animal Vendor anymore.

Just went to purchase a butterfly egg from the animal vendor, and I noticed all animal eggs are no longer listed for purchase. Any ideas Why?

  • So after I learned that skill, I can no longer buy them?

  • That's because of a change to the vendors, in order to encourage a player-driven economy:

It's not related to whether or not you have the skill.

  • No, so players can sell them on the auction for money. As long as the eggs were being sold by vendors, the skill itself was a waste to learn.

  • They removed some items from certain vendors so that people would be forced to buy them off the auction. They felt having everything available in vendors kind of made the auction house less useful.

    From the changelog:

"The affected items include Seasoned Beans and Seasoned Eggs, along with several top-shelf cocktails and meals."

  • Course I'd never auction an egg, I'd auction a chick/worm/piglet instead, so my customer wouldn't need to have the skill to get the animal.

  • Personally I think it's rather silly that selling an egg created through Animal Husbandry on the Auction House.. nets LESS money than the actual components needed for the creation process do.

  • @Death Cuddle: Which egg are you talking about?  Honey is the only ingredient I can think of that absolutely requires you to purchase, and that's only 4 currants a pot.

  • @DeathCuddle that's because the people posting the auctions are stupid and not pricing them at an appropriate price point.  don't blame the system for the faults of its users.

  • @Lara: Last few go rounds I've had with eggs on the Auction House have expired three times, forcing me to lower the price further and further in order to merit a sale. I'm not saying the pricing for the COMPONENTS is expensive, what I am saying is that the SALE prices for eggs seems to jump up and down quite nastily at times.

  • I just like to see the world populated with animals, but don't have time to run around and do that myself. So tiny animals on ah for a low price are a good idea to me, although it feels kind of strange to put an animal up for auction...

  • @Miriamele Animals are put up for auction all the time in farming communities.
