Spoke too soon -- went to a different tab in Chrome while the fruit changing machine was running, and when I got back it had made 0 fruits, used 0 cherries, and was in an infinite churn-loop. Had to reload again.
Not sure what caused it to malfunction in the first place, but as you've probably noticed, the infinite churn-loop was probably related to alpha.glitch.com/forum/bugs...
Can you give me any more details on what you were doing before you tried to use the fruit changer, whether there was anything else bizarre going on, etc.? We've had a rash of reports of people having trouble interacting with items from their inventory but I don't think any of them are quite like this, so I'm not really sure where to start with trying to reproduce it. Did you just finish learning fruit changing, by any chance?
It happened multiple times, and not (just) as a result of not having enough energy to complete the request. There was nothing else bizarre going on , I tried it inside a house, in an open area, in several different streets, when alone/with others around. I noticed it well after having learned Fruit Changing. It would begin the process, whirring visually as usual, and since I didn't feel like waiting there for 20 apples to be churned out, I switched over to another window and when I came back, it was whirring infinitely. No supplies were used up, no results were produced, and it was not possible to close the Fruit Changer window either by trying to stop it normally or by clicking the X in the upper-right of the window. Only reloading could interrupt it. I confirmed upon return that no supplies were missing, and no results were created.
