Keyboard shortcut for switching to the type mode

Wondering if there would be any way to do an in-game typing motion? You know - a couple of quick keystrokes summons up a public speech bubble or something that you can type into without having to navigate over to the right interface?

  • For some reason I keep doing Apple-Enter or something like that. I can't quite figure out where I got this behaviour from though, but it seems pretty hardwired.

  • I have Warcraft keyboard-shortcut reflexes when it comes to this -- really wish I didn't have to click to change over to typing. Tom ++

  • Yeah I think it's WOW typing reflexes. Tapping Enter triggers a new speech window or something.

  • We will probably do [cmd/ctrl] + [enter/return] (like Tom, I have this as muscle memory, but it is definitely not from Google Wave ... something much older but I can't remember what) since [enter/return] is already used plenty. When we split windows, it will probably loop through them all (like alt-tab) and back out again.

  • [cmd/ctrl] + [enter/return] is now done and toggles though all chat/IM inputs and then back to the play area.
