Ability to gift wardrobe items

Forgive me if this is already in there.  I can't seem to find it, nor did I find a suggestion for this (although I admittedly didn't look very hard).

I'm a subscriber who is not going to use up his credits anytime soon.  I like the look of my avatar at the moment and don't feel the need to buy any new clothing for my everyday appearance.  I'll probably buy stuff here and there as events happen and the like, but on the whole I've got a whole lot of credits that I'm not spending.

I'd like to be able to spend credits on clothing for my friends.

I don't know how hard it would be, but I think a "send as a gift" option would be a very nice thing to have in the wardrobe.

  • I think that might be a nice feature, and i have to say, I was very happy wearing one outfit all the time, until I started buying clothing.  Once I started, I had to have more and more.  So, getting a person started on wardrobe-building will only increase the desire for credits.

I do think there needs to be a limit on how much you can gift away, though.  I wouldn't want people splitting a membership.  Maybe only specific clothing items could be giftable?  Maybe certain items could ONLY be acquired as gifts!

  • Too easy to make dummy accounts and "gift yourself" with 2,000 credits of clothing...

  • That's a slippery slope.  It essentially allows purchase of currants with cash because if you can gift clothing, you can also arrange to sell it. It also opens up a lot of scamming possibilities with items bought for real cash.

  • I like this idea. I've become obsessed with clothing.
Maybe to encourage memberships, the more exclusive clothing should be purchased with credits only by subscribers? These items can be non transfer.
The regular stuff can be purchased with currants ? What's the point of saving up currants if we can't buy clothing? These items can be traded but maybe not auctioned?
