Bag Auto Management

Will be great (for us lazy glitchers) that items could go to a bag if that bag contains related items to the new one. An example: sometimes I'm mining and a bunch of Sparkly goes to a random bag even if I have many mining-related tools/items in my "blue" bag. Will be great if the new stuff could be grouped in certain bags if there are other similar items, in an automatic fashion. Maybe is a dumb idea but when having +6 bags, tool box, etc any help will be really appreciated**

  • I love this idea.  I named my bags and I hope that the goods that I pick or mine or whatever know where to go..but...they don't!  And I hate cooking and then having to rummage though all the bags just to find my salad - of course by this time I am dead and in hell - I am the (certainly one of them) worlds worst for organisation and so help would be wonderful and larger bags too, come on folk, we all know how much us ladies like a large bag :D

  • doing it by theme like that could be difficult.. it's a challenging CS problem,

but it would be pretty simple to see if when a slot for an item fills, ie sparkly in the blue bag gets full and needs to roll over to a new slot, it would be smart if it checked for free slots for sparkly only in that particular bag first, instead of going back to general inventory.
So if it fills a slot of item x in bag y, it looks for a new slot for item x to fill in bag y, rather than a random bag in inventory.

  • I understand the technical difficulties of this, but some sort of management would be very welcome!

  • Inventory management is more than just an annoyance to me; it more than frustrates me. Inventory management makes me angry. I consider it the scourge of the RPG genre. The only thing worse than having to click through 8 bags to find the item that you just picked up and want to use, is having to deal with a menu or click each bag twice.

Bags fill from left to right, so I simply put all of the items that I'm going to carry around with me in the bags all the way to the right, then everything else simply fills up in my "junk" bags. This works reasonably well.
However, it is nothing compared to being able to see all your bags at once, or auto-sort them so that items of the same type are near each other. There's an API to view the items in your inventory, but I don't know if that API can be given access to move items in your bags without use input. If it can, then perhaps someone will be able to write a plugin to manage our inventories. I would love that.
