  • Someone was buying my auctions like crazy a while back (I was having a moving sale) and I checked their profile page out of curiosity. Then I saw that their location was Cebarkul.

I got my glitchy butt over there with the rest of my crazy huge inventory to sell to the tool vendor myself.

  • I agree Munchma.  Now I price my things that I care about and want to go to other players, high enough that selling to the vendors won't grab a good profit.  >_<

  • I was just going to say...I have gotten "thanks" notes from auction sellers before, so they had to be getting the info that I was the buyer from SOMEwhere. :)

  • when my stuff moves fast on auction, i check my profile to see who's buying. i don't care if their location is cebarkul; i'm a producer/wholesaler and my idea of fun is wandering around the game gathering stuff, not sniping good bargains and standing at the tool vendor all day.

it is my understanding, however, that some players enjoy that activity and as far as i'm concerned, more power to them. i move my inventory and make huge profits, and they get good deals and  make huge profits. is there a loser here?

    i don't think so.

what i DO check for, however, is buyers who are trying to set an artificial low price and snap up a bigger share of the pie by offering low priced bait to skew the market.

if cherries are selling low, fine. if you're making the market appear low because you've underpriced some small lots to manipulate prices for your profit, i'll just hold my inventory until the market normalizes.

market prices fluctuate naturally and i don't mind moving goods for whatever the market bears, but i will check for the difference between natural market lows and manipulated market lows.

side note: if i notice someone selling easily obtainable goods for outrageously high prices, i will go buy some o' them and sell them at a fairer price.

my idea of fair for purchased goods is what i paid for them at the vendor plus my fees and a few currents to cover my time. the purchaser is paying for the convenience of having ME march over to the vendor and get the item delivered direct to them, and that's worth something, but one should keep in mind that it is not hard to make a large profit and still be kind.
