Glitch becoming a GRINDING based game

I realized that Glitch is developing a metagame strategy purely for the goal of most efficiently attaining the most Currants one has. Yes, with almost every mmo game there is this fact but it seems that this is all Glitch has to offer to it's free (non-subscribed, non-paying) members. It seems that the Glitch team has not yet pushed or created much social or personal enjoyment projects or implementations. As I scour the forums and blogs I notice that the main topic has been about making money. Almost always. In order for Glitch to live past a certain free mmo lifespan and greatly increase it's active user population there must be an increased number of social activities and personal customization. When every character is wearing the same items because they don't want to pay for virtual credit, or when a home stays the same as you have purchased it, or when I can only race people or play the crowns game with those who want to play for the limited amount of "fun" those players are willing to have with me, then it deters me from playing in the long run (there will be a peak or plateau at which I will stop playing because I do not enjoy it). I try my best to talk and interact with people. I have even been to a home warming party but there is not much to do. Make more events, increase social abilities of players in-game, maybe create classes for skills and more quests that can only be done in groups and this game will blossom into something amazing. Also, I want to change the color of my roof (animal crossing reference haha XD)

Cheers

  • I heard "money" in this game is just a pawn to something much larger like favors and what not...

  • First off, the enter key is your friend. You should probably paraphrase it and section your suggestion up a bit. :)

Secondly; yes - it is much a grinding game much like any other MMO, but you must remember that the game has just left the platform and gone public. Like most MMO's on the market today there's still plenty of things to come in future updates. I'm certain the devs at Tiny Speck have great plans for the future. :)

  • If you want to be social, why don't you just be social? I'm not sure why the game (devs) has to force everyone to be social. I don't want to be social. I just want to pet trees, squeeze animals and plant stuff. I can talk to people, but I'd rather not. I really, really don't want to do group things. I abhor those quests. Sure, it's fun once a month, but not all the time.

  • Well, the new street projects are finally available again after Beta.  This allows us to open up whole new areas of the world.  These projects provide a way to bleed off excess resources, work together, and accomplish something that feels more real and permanent than most game goals, where the monsters respawn as soon as you kill them.  The real question will be are the new areas actually new?  I will also get bored very quickly if there aren't different art styles, resources and activities as the world expands.  So far I am still having enough fun to wait and see.

  • Name an MMO that isn't based on grinding?

And please learn to use breaks in paragraphs. No one wants to read a block of text.
