Upcoming Update List with possible player voting option

I like to see lists of possible updates to in-progress games, I guess because I'm a software developer myself. I'd love to see a feature "wish-list" on the site that the Devs are considering. A system for letting players vote on improvements would be fun, too! I like the Facebook Developer API system where users get a certain number of votes (e.g. - 100 per user) and can distribute them however they wish among one or more ideas they like. The devs could easily copy and paste short ideas from this forum section and add them to the wish list to see the community's demand for it.

  • The Ideas forum is a running wishlist from users. I would be very surprised (and disappointed) to learn that TS didn't cull ideas from the list and monitor them for popularity, with an idea to implementing many of them.

In fact, many such ideas have been implemented. I'm skeptical that running development based on player voting per se is a good idea. The overall integrity of a game like this and the need for a sensible, coordinated development process both require a certain amount of benevolent dictatorship.

TS does far better than most companies in responding to the wishes and feedback of its players.

  • Between the nerfs and the short feats stoot has gotten an earful (or 6) on getting out notice a bit early.

Voting is bad -- users are generally vastly underinformed on what is important and useful. If you have votes, you invariably end up with much whining about why beloved features go un-developed. If you ignore the whining, well, that's not good, so you end up wasting time mollifying users over things that they never really had.
