Make tree poison drag and drop to use

I think it would be great if tree poison wasn't automatically in the menu list for trees if you have it in your backpack but for it to be only used by dragging it from your bag to the tree. I have poisoned so many trees by accident that I have lost count.    =\   Sorry if this has been suggested before.

  • I accidentally poison too. Thanks for posting this. Maybe a confirmation window once it has been selected... "Do you really want to kill this tree?"

  • I just posted about this not too long ago. I totally agree.

  • I agree, it is funny that different potions and powders have different rules. Potion of Animal Youth is like Poison this way. If I have it in my bags, using it is on the menu for every animal. Annoying, because that potion is expensive and I never want to use it by mistake.

On the other hand, if I have Fertilidust Lite in my bags, I would love to have the option to use it if I click on a wood tree. It is much more effective than watering and petting those trees. The F Lite makes up for one harvest and heals the tree. You have to water and pet WITHOUT harvesting many times to make up for a single harvest (regrow a lost branch). On the other hand, I don't want the option to put it on any other kind of trees, because they don't need it.

  • Sorry, but I feel getting the Paul Bunions badge is tedious enough without adding another 1009 steps. I have to ask, why are you carrying Tree Poison / Animal Youth unless you intend to use them right away? I have too much stuff to carry around potions that I don't plan on using...

I like the idea of Fert being in the menu for any tree less than full adult size. Not that I think you need to hold our hands, but I've certainly poured one out for a leafy friend that did not need it and could see how it might become inconvenient. (This does not invalidate my opinion above; Fert sees much more use on wood trees than anyone uses poison, I should think.)

  • Poisoning in error is a huge drag. A confirmation dialog would be good.

  • Already have this code when you select release for your animals. No reason a similar idea couldn't be implemented here.

  • I despise poisoning trees unintentionally and I would love to see something like this implemented.

Fertilidust too, so we can choose the tree to sprinkle it on.. I used up a whole jar trying to sprinkle my seedling but the powder kept going on the tree next to it instead.  I even moved where I was standing so I was farther from the other tree but it did it anyways.  >_<!!!

dear lem, please no more mouse-based activities or confirmation boxes, pretty please!

but i *would* like to hear a more creative way that a player could opt to give themselves extra control over how their poison works.  maybe something involving mab?

  • All that would be needed is an "are you sure?" dialog with a "never show this again" checkbox for those who don't want to see it (and some settings page somewhere to undo that, of course).

  • +1 for a confirmation or a lock for the poison. Anything that prevents accidentally poisoning trees.
@Miso: Fertilidust does not work on seedlings, they have to be little baby trees first for it to work.
