Friends and skills

I think joining Friends and Skill could be interesting.

I have not worked this idea very much, but I think it would be nice if Glitches could teach each other and exchange knowledge. One possibility is that Glitchens who already have a certain skill could help Glitchens learning that skill - and it would be even nicer if it were restricted to Glitches that are friends with each other. It could be a new way to speed up learning time.

Another possibility would be to have, besides the basic skills that all Glitches have, some specific skills that could only be learned with the help of other Glitches - something as areas of specialization of the basic skills, like the candy making I saw in another topic.

Need to give this idea some more thought, but was just wondering : )

  • Why restrict it to friends? If it's unrestricted, it would be a good way of meeting new people, on both sides of the fence.

  • Gotta agree with you on that! I was thinking about friends, so that it would make sense in the game "plot".

  • This idea has promise, but it might get annoying.  Double or triple the length it takes to learn all the skills, and make it so each person can be teaching one other person something they know, to halve their learning time.  The only problem is it might become something that is such a hassle, everyone uses alts to do it, and I think that alt abuse is phenomenally lame. ^^;;

  • You mean people abusing from "teacher help" and getting all skills done with less effort? (Sorry, I'm not sure if I understood, English is not my native language).

  • "alt" means you create a second alternate character, so you can simply teach yourself using your other account, without actually interacting with anyone.  This idea is frequently used by players in games that require multiple characters to complete tasks.  There are always huge fights about whether this counts as "cheating."

    I do kind of like the idea of another character with a skill being able to help you speed up your learning time, similar to the drink buffs.

  • Oh, now I got it. Thanks, Mereret :)
    And yeah, I think the "alt" thing could be a real dealbreaker here. Maybe if it worked as the Yellow Crumb Flower, it wouldn't be so critical.
