Do not be nice to the people waiting for keys in ajaya bliss

I went to wait for the key and there was this girl waiting...She got busy with her bags and wasnt in site when the key appeared and since she wasnt there I took it..she came back right after so I asked her wasnt she waiting for the key and she said yes but you got it..So I gave it to her thinking she could use it (Ive been to ajaya once before..dissapointment of places) and thought shed go..she was very grateful but didnt leave..kept making small talk and wouldnt go..I asked her several times dont you want to go to ajaya?? She said yes...But latter...There turned to be a crowd of 3 and all pounced on the key when it appeared(Including her)...but somehow I got the next key..But she and her friends stayed...Turns out she is one of the key auctioners...As well as her friends...
Yes its her right to do that and the rules say its okay but it made me feel like an idiot for trying to be fair in things to find out its a key auctioner. So dont feel bad if you get the key before others...Those others might all be auctioneers looking for a quick buck...From now on I will just grab the key and the H* with anyone waiting...Its things like this that make the game not be a cooperative venture...

  • Sometimes I offer to be followed in local chat, but I never give away keys.

  • Never be nice to anyone, in case they turn out to be mean or have ideals that you don't agree with. YOU'RE SETTING YOURSELF UP FOR DISSAPOINTMENT.

    Or, y'know, take a chance. :3

  • I don't understand the logic or appeal of camping for keys and other "special" items. You can make a lot more money simply mining what you find and selling it along with the gems you get.(unless of course you want to complete an area and need a key.) Maybe the campers just enjoy being annoying. Don't change who you are, though. There are many more gracious players here than the selfish ones. People like you make the game extra fun.

  • I don't get the whole prejudice against key auctioneers...I, for one, don't always feel like camping out for a key when I could just buy one...

  • I never thought of it in those terms Cupcake...thanks for sharing your point of view.

  • One bad experience because you made an assumption doesn't mean all auctioneers/campers are bad.

My experiences has been good with them, going to the key spawn and being offered a free key without having to wait.

Besides, they do offer a service for those people who don't like to wait for a key.

  • I can't imagine spending a whole lot of my game time sitting in one spot waiting for a key to spawn.  We should have sympathy for people who do that.  They sacrifice so much fun to sit there and wait for a key to spawn.  Some might even view their sacrifice as a service to the rest of us.

  • What matters is you were still yourself. You gave the key because you felt like it was the right thing to do. What they did with the key after that doesn't change the reason you had in your heart to give them the key in the first place.
Your actions is your Karma. Their actions is their Karma. Just because someone has a different agenda with playing doesn't mean you have to not be nice to them. Remember, kindness kills. =)

  • I've only been visiting Ajaya for a couple of days now, but it seems like a ton of hassle to me to deal with all the key finding and waiting. I just buy the key from auction, go to the door, ask anyone waiting outside if they want to follow in and really, the amount of sparkly you get from being in there for an hour or so is more than enough to compensate for the price of a key. 1.6k is really not very much at all compared to a trip to the tool vendor with a few bags of sparkly.
If people would rather spend all their time camping for keys and selling them, then good for them. It seems like a boring way to make a living to me, but it obviously works for them.
I'd rather be doing stuff than standing around the whole time o_o

  • I always have a blast waiting for the key to spawn.  Most times, I get so busy chatting with everyone else waiting, that I completely miss the key.  But people are always willing to let you follow them in, if they are the lucky key grabber at that spawn.  Also, if you have your heart set on getting into ajaya, try waiting by the door.  Other players usually ask the street if anyone wants to follow them in, before using the key.

Ultimately, when you give someone a gift, it is up to them on what they do with it.  You said that she was very grateful to you for having given it.  That is really all that we can expect of someone upon receiving a gift.

  • I actually had a really positive experience with an auctioneer during my first time waiting for a key. She was there first, but when I showed up she told me where the key would spawn and told me to go before her. We made small talk until the key showed up and when it did appear I grabbed it and she congratulated me.

Now, if I buy a teal-white key through auction I always look for her name as a seller :)

  • This game is so much like life - there are all kinds.

For me there's no fun in camping and waiting for a key. But I want to go somewhere where I'll need a key, then I'll wait around for it.

Auctioning keys could be a way to make currants. But I also can't see the point in having lots of currants. There's only a limited number of things to buy, I have what I need in the game and so watching my currant balance go up doesn't excite me.

So I'm not going to camp out (boring) for the sake of a few currants.

But, as in life, I expect there are those whose goals are to make lots of currants even if they have no real use for them. . . at the expense of quality time doing something they enjoy. But then I suppose making currants is what they enjoy. . . So to each his own.

  • I guess a key sitter is as bad as the one who shows up, takes the key and hits the door without so much as a ..."would anyone like to follow..."

  • I'm a key seller (I normally sell in bulk), But I also go into Neva Neva to mine. I don't care for AB.
I also take turns or will offer my spot to someone actually going to mine if I'm not planning too.

I think if someone leaves the spot then the key is yours. If someone is waiting there you should wait until they get theirs. I hate key stealers since people take their time out to wait for it to respawn.

I know a few people who do not like to wait & are willing to buy keys, they also thank some of us key sellers for doing what we do.

I do not do it for the money, as most the time my money that I earn from key selling goes towards my group: Andran Homeowner's group. I supply livestock & trees up there. So I need the money when I am not able to get donations from other homeowners.

I also have an addiction to cubimals so that is my flaw there. ahaha.

So don't judge all key sellers, some are nice, some are rude & will steal keys so my advice tell them to move away & wait their turn or just use the keyboard to pick up the key quicker.
