Unlearning is for Wimpies :>

Take the time to learn.  Who cares if it takes two weeks to learn Teleportation V.  We are strong and able to be all wait-y. :)

  • i do not need to be the first kid on the block to make potions.

but when i make potions, i want to be a fully teleportable, full-on mining, animal-magnet wizard gardener alchemist engineer.

    yeah.

sign me up for being wait-y.

  • Dilbert:   "We can do plan A, or we can do plan B."

    Pointy-haired boss:  "Do them both!"

  • I agree but I also want to learn every skill possible so will eventually learn all levels of Unlearning.

Even though I never plan to use it.

  • I may also learn Unlearning, but I do wonder how it might affect skill-related quests - will the Magic Rock then say, "Okay, now unlearn two skills for +300 currants, +30 favour with Cosma!"

...Though, granted, not all skills induce new quests (i.e. Better Learning). Maybe this would be one of them.

  • Oh gosh, I wake up and Glitch has gone mad. D: I think Unlearning might be useful, I've definitely cursed the time penalties before, buuuut I'm going to want all these skills later, so I probably won't be using it.

  • I'm going to learn the unlearning skills but I will never use them because I want all the skills and really the learning time is not a problem.

  • But if you've learned up to AK7, can you unlearn AK1-6 without incurring any animal handling penalties?

  • Surely with unlearning comes a quest to unlearn which will be irisistable. Bwahahahaha *evils*, so you'd have to unlearn something and learn it again to have all skills.

  • @Ziggy, I don't think it works that way.

  • Has anyone done the math to figure out at what point taking time to Unlearn saves time for Learning?

I'll never bother because I'd rather be learning than unlearning, since time has to pass either way.

  • @jiva

Even better: badges for unlearning multiple skills in the usual prime numbers.

  • Saucelah, it would be pretty much instantly useful.

    1) Learn Unlearning
    2) Unlearn transmogrifying skills (should take 2h or less each)
    3) -20% to new, longer skill times. (potionmaking 2: ~178h for me, x0.8=~142h, savings of 36h)

  • I play EVE Online, which has a skill system much the same as Glitch, except the learning times are longer.  The longest skills take months.  So I'm definitely not going to unlearn anything in Glitch. xD
