Skill Help, Please!

Hi!

I joined Glitch a few months ago, and then I stopped playing for quite a while. I came back to see there are all these new skills that I could learn, and that there was no more better learning or unlearning and stuff. So now, I'm wondering what skills I should learn first and what I should learn later. So far I've learned Animal Kinship I, Soil Appreciation I, EZ Cooking I, Bureaucratic Arts I, and Light Green Thumb I. I'm a bit lost as to what to learn now. Is there a certain order I should learn my skills in?

Thanks for the help!

  • Better learning and unlearning are upgrade cards now. There isn't really a right order to learning skills. Pursue whatever interests you. Do you want to be able to cook better and more things or do you like tree or growing things? How about building things? That said, I found teleportation to be particularly useful.

  • Nope! There's no wrong way to play Glitch. :) If you prefer petting animals, focus on kinship, if you prefer farming and cooking, work on those first. :) If you're constantly low on energy, I found meditative arts to be quite useful at low level. Just focus on what strikes your fancy. :)

The only thing I do recommend is to get the top tier skills before filling in skills that feel unimportant to you, as eventually they'll take quite a long time to learn if your head is all filled with fluff. But that's not something to worry about now. :)

Edit: Seconding  Grackle on teleportation! XD

  • Tinkering is a Must if you haven't learned it yet.  Some people like to learn all of a particular skill tree.  You will probably want to build a tower or make furniture so those skills that let you do that are needed.

Keep in mind that skill times increase as you learn.  Skill one is short, Skill two a bit longer, etc.

  • Also a note: cooking skills are numerous and short in learning time, but will fill up your brain and make other skills take super long to learn. They don't take as long as other skills after your brain is filled up.

Just something to consider, if you want to learn everything or most everything. I love the cooking, so it may be something you'd rather jump into first than last. :)

  • My personal opinion is that the best way to get a strong start is to learn all the animal kinship skills first.  (get that Emblem of Humbaba as soon as you can!) That will get you to a good cash flow so that you can buy the other things that you need while you are learning the other skills.  You can harvest from animals almost anywhere, so it is useful while you are wandering; you can eat what you harvest if you are low on energy.
