Ummm, this might not be applicable now, but way back in Alph/Beta we were able to switch learning skills before game closure ONLY within a short time frame like 15 minutes before shutdown.
Sorry you can't reset your skill page but at least you know the game will re-open tomorrow PS time. Then you can study non-stop.

That has been what has happened with skill learning while the game was down since back when the game was down more than it was up.
I think this is likely because telling us that we are still learning a skill, or that however much time has elapsed and the learning is complete, only requires looking at what's in the records, while starting a new skill learning requires changing them. It's safer for them to do big complicated data conversions and stuff if no user-driven changes are happening. (Yeah, we can fiddle with wardrobe and vanity, but those are pretty self-contained.)
If I remember correctly, if you had the Greasemonkey script set before the game closed, new skills would automatically start when one finished.....if you had the prerequisites, of course.
