Crowded Area on Beta

I was wondering, what will happen on the Close Beta, especially on the first day. Ilmenskie will be full with miners. Then, we won't get our share, and we can't earn our currants... So, then... Why don't the devs make something like private mining, as We won't be able to mine if we are late, even just a bit..
Or atleast, add more place to mine other than Groddle Heights and Ilmenskie?

  • Mining with friends adds. To the amount that you get.

  • As you know, the rocks regenerate as long as they're completely mined. And, you get more return when another Glitch joins in mining with you. The more Glitches mining, the better. I would imagine that it works the same way everywhere in-World.

  • Well, I know about the regeneration, but that takes time, right?

  • Not that much time. Although, I'm not quite sure how quick regen times are. Or if it varies by area or a specific place. Does anyone else know?

  • If it ends up being a problem at all it will be short termed. There are PLENTY Of folks who won't be jumping on the mining train right away. And Ilmenskie has 22 some streets. There are rocks in Alakol, a few in Bortola, etc.

  • Lots of rocks in Groddle Heights too.

  • It would be nice to have private rocks though, since we can have private trees...

  • ^ So, the way people earn money is equal. I will really be disappointed when I saw The Other Drop/Arjun Plung has no more rock, and lotsa people are running around there like madman, giving me no chance to even plunder the rocks peacefully

  • I was in there this last test and, you guessed it, there was no more rock. When I entered there were 3 other people there having a conversation and not mining. I mined the one rock available, then moved to a new rock that regenerated. I was immediately joined by TWO of the other players so the rock was gone very quickly. No more had regenerated by the time we finished or even for awhile afterward.

  • that, the case I feared at most

  • Areas where rocks are:
Alakol, Andra, Bortola, Groddle Heights, Ilmenskie Caverns, Ilmenskie Deeps, Kajuu, Uralia, Salatu (maybe Tamila, too and not sure about Muufo; anyone know?) and even some in Groddle Forest and one or two in Groddle Meadow when you search. Honestly, I don't even mine in Ilmenskie that much anymore:)

So really, it's a matter of traveling. There are plenty of rocks for mining out there! Good luck with your mining:)

  • Audaria, are you talking about Ajaya Bliss specifically? If so, of course it is like that! It is the one location with 15 sparkly! It should be crowded.

I spent a fair amount of time mining this last test and Ajaya Bliss was always busy... but the rest of the Deeps? Pretty empty. Always. And if a particular street was busy, going one street over would lead me to an empty or near empty street.

Even when I was going after sparkly, it never took me longer than 10 minutes to find a street with two or three.

  • There was someone in Ajaya Bliss who told us to leave her alone when we told her that mining together was more beneficial.

Which meant she really didn't get much sparkly as we were caning round there.

  • There are now rocks in most areas.  I live in Alakol and do not have far to go to mine.  There are also rocks in Andra, Bartola and Timala.

  • Yes, LBO, I was talking about Ajaya Bliss. I wasn't surprised to find it crowded, only to find it EMPTY of all stones. I never tell people to stop mining with me (although I think two people at once was pushing it a bit) and I did go elsewhere.

  • None of us will be mining too effectively anyway because we won't have the skill level and will keep running out of energy. teleporting could be hard work too. There's alot to be said for finding rocks in other areas as we will have the knowledge that the new players will lack.
Back to desperately harvesting cherries and meat just to eat, never mind cooking! How primitive! lol.
How long do you think it will take to work up to Mining 5 again? Hmm, *Twoodle goes back to planning her skills strategy again.

  • I'm not convinced that mining will be the best way to make money when the game goes live. There are still many changes to be made, not the least of which is the gems change from the last test period that had quite an effect on mining profitability.

After all, the people who got rich from coal mining weren't the miners, but Levis.

  • I'm starting a spreadsheet with the resources grouped by type, region, street and location. The PIA right now is entering all the streets by region. A LOT of typing. :( I'd love a shortcut usable with a Google Docs spreadsheet.

  • @Fokian: The Location Checker script leads me to believe there's a way to pull that info from the API -- why hand-type it?
