Need more houses in common areas

We need more houses in common areas like Groddle Meadow, Heights, Alakol, etc. It's pretty unfair to the new folks that they have to buy a house way out in the boonies.

It would also be nice if we could sell our houses to other players. I own a coveted Alakol house with an awesome house number. It's worth far more than "80% of its value." If so inclined, I'd like to see how much it would fetch on the open market.

I'd like to see both of these implemented.

  • I don't think the intention of Glitch is to spawn greed.  Besides, what would you do with all the excess currants anyway?

  • I lived in Groddle Forest during beta. When I finally got my house, this time around, I realized that with the world almost tripled in size from when I started and the subway, there really is no "boonies". I bought a house in Bortola. The first few days, I hated it because everything else seemed so far. Then I spent some time around my neighborhood. It was all in my head. I have everything I need, save more spice trees, within a few walks/subway stops. I no longer have to go to a Groddle for bubbles or fruit or down to Ilmenskie to mine. I made sure I planted a spice tree at my house and I'm set.

  • I would like to have a house and an apartment together.
in reality it is the usual situation.

  • Joojoo, no greed here. Just simple market economics. Rather than the price being dictated by the game, I'd like to see it dictated by the players. In a social game, this makes sense.

  • Do we really need more housing in Groddle, though? A lot of people ended up buying houses in GM/GF because those were the first houses they came across, and even more jumped on it because it was the 'cool' place to live... there are a few who live there because they bought their beta house, but they're the minority. Seems like front-loading an area everybody has been to a million times might have the side-effect of sucking away the motivation to get out there and see new things, find new places to hang out, go AFK for three hours in front of a different building. Groddle's already well-crowded, and I hate to be less-than-empathetic about it, but there's waaay more to Ur than the one island. Might behoove people to keep an eye on Groddle realty if they're convinced they just can't live anywhere else, while giving somewhere else a try.
