As there are a growing number of players from around the world, it would be helpful to have official language chats like Live Help or Global Chat that appears as a default option. One could choose in a settings page which languages they'd like to participate in chat with to have it show on the list of groups/friends.
I realize there are groups for this, but it appears many are inactive, or can't easily be found, or don't exist. Groups are also unable to have the widespread exposure and outreach that an official channel would naturally provide for people who really enjoy the game but are desperately seeking help in their native tongue.
Some potential objections to this idea may be that Glitch is only supported in English, but I don't think it would hinder gameplay or make people expect support for other languages if this chat system existed.
Another issue may be that there needs to be moderators for each language in case a chat gets out of control. This problem could be perhaps solved with some kind of auto translation system that shows a machine translation to English. I'm not sure about the technical details on such a translation but I've seen some chat systems like Mibbit IRC using Google Translate to automatically convert between languages. There are also many Guides and Greeters who speak other languages that could possibly help with the moderation. But in that case perhaps it wouldn't be called "official" if there aren't any staff members monitoring the chat.
In summary, I hope there's some equivalent of Live Help but in other languages. I read that Global Chat will be removed when there are too many players, but language-specific chat channels could be instanced like Live Help.
