Whoops! I just accidentally dragged my meticulously placed furniture! I'm not OCD enough for this! (Furniture Locks)

Has this happened to you?  I know it's happened to me!  I suggest furniture is given a "lock" option when it is placed in your home so you can stop yourself from dragging it around.  I mean, how long did it take you to get those SDB's pixel-perfect?  This could save a good amount of frustration on the part of us crazy-precise designers.

  • It's embarrassing how much time I've spent arranging SDBs, so I would like this feature.

  • I like this idea too. I keep accidentally rearranging my SDBs. At one point in time I even put a ruler up to the screen, but I gave up on that.

Maybe there could be a grid we could align furniture to or something too.

Edit: whoa, I'm posting this from my phone, and it just went all weird on me and ate half the post and italicized the other half.

  • +1 Yesssssss.
ALSO, relatedly: the option to decide which side of your house expands. Nothing worse than having to shift *all* your furniture to make room at the other end. :/

  • +1 There was a suggestion a while ago to disallow movement of items outside of decorate mode.

  • i would like to be able to arrange SDBs in some sort of grid so that I can click it once and all (my wall of them) are evenly spaced.

    and then lock 'em.

  • I like this idea. I leave tools and bags on my shelves for easy access. Went to pick up a test tube, but moved my entire shelf instead! Whoops.

  • Isn't that how it's supposed to work already? When in decorate mode, things move, when out, they should be static. I almost think this is unintended behavior, ie a bug, since the occurrence is somewhat erratic and unpredictable outside decorate mode.

  • It used to work like that yes, but they changed it when we were still using the test houses, I still don't understand why that was necessary and I certainly don't like :(

  • Changed as in on purpose? Or changed as in broke it and just left it that way?

  • On purpose I'm afraid:

Glitch Change Log ‏@glitchlog 29 Mar - As part of an overhaul of our drag & drop functionality, you can now drag and upgrade furniture without even entering Decorate Mode.

  • That's too bad. I get being able to drag it out of inventory, but it is completely inconsistent when in regular play mode. Sometimes it does sometimes it doesn't. (usually does at the most inopportune moments and doesn't when I actually want it to, so I just change to decorate mode)

ok then +1 for the idea
