Smuggling problem when switching streets with slower connections.

This has happened 2 times to me now. Deimaginator catches me after I've clicked on street sign to switch streets. Due to slow connection, it takes a while to switch streets. I can see me waiting, but can't move (as I'm waiting to switch streets) and in that time, deimaginator walks up while I'm frozen and ... no more quest.
Would be nice if people with slower connections could do this quest without being caught unfairly!  I can understand being caught when you touch deimaginator, but it seems unfair he can get us when we're frozen between streets.

  • Thanks Ebil, the Deimaginator is supposed to leave you alone once you hit the sign, we'll see if there's something we can do about it,

  • Hey Ebil,

Sorry that those pesky deimaginators are causing you problems! We already do have some logic in place which should make them stay away, even if your street-change takes a while, but evidently there's a gap somewhere.

I have an idea on where it might be, and will play with adding some improvements just as soon as I can.

  • Had a similar thing happen. Just got my smuggling on, from Stopan Winnow and was changing streets to the next place, but God disconnected me. When I came back I was immediately captured. I'm playing from the Bay Area.

  • This has happened to me several times. If I understand correctly, the logic the Deimaginator follows is to de-spawn within a certain radius of the signs. My observations seem to support this, but who knows... however, the times where the event is failed due to zoning appears to occur when the Deimaginators actually spawn within the de-spawn radius of the signs. Again, these are just my observations, so who knows...

  • I had this happen to me once.  While waiting for the street handoff, the deimaginator just walked up to me and took my goods.  I also had this happen with a juju.  As long as it's being looked into, I'm cool.

  • This has been happening to me as well - with Jujus... They appear, and I leave them for dead, yet the lag on street changes means that I can;t move, and they catch me. I have re-created it consistently (as in every time a juju arrives near me on street change, it steals my stuff while I'm stuck like a fly in amber)...

Is there a way to stop the jujus when the street change starts?

  • Partial temporary fix:  With jujus, you can avoid the problem by jumping before hitting enter for the street sign.  They are too short to reach you.  Not sure if this will work with deimaginators as they are a bit taller.

  • Never thought about that, that's a great idea...helps a lot with those with slower connections like me :)

  • We know this is still out here awaiting some fixin', just so you know.

  • We believe the Deimaginator should now be a less grabby in this situation, so let us know how it goes!

  • I've been lucky enough to get the Smuggler quest twice today... I will admit I noticed a difference in how close (or lack of closeness) they now spawn/come near the signposts!

  • larky lion - no such luck on the jumping thing - the sneaky juju still gets me!
