I totally wish that my old apartment block, Boan Stravenue Villas, had received this kind of attention. Instead, the Giants simply removed the door and sealed the wall. I'll always remember....
I saw a "Home" note in Shimla Mirch. I thought it was a great way to honor our old houses. I went back to my old street in Rasana, Aipassi Massey, and left a note where the Signpost for our housing blocks used to be. Someone else had left small shiny objects. A memorial to the passing of an era.
I remember when I was fresh out of the brain, stumbling around and trying to keep up with all the things the rock was throwing at me. At some point the Rube walked up and traded me a Crystal chamber for... something. I turned right around and sold it and used the proceeds to buy my first apartment in Jeben Journey Towers. It was out in the boonies of Tamila with a long walk to the subway, but it had a cabinet and four plots, and I really felt like I was getting somewhere.
New glitches will never feel that thrill of working hard, saving up and getting out on their own at last. Instead they just have a house handed to them. It feels like something real about the game is being lost...
Well kind of WalruZ. They do still have to work to make it their own. I liked buying my old house, but afterwards, I was like now what? My imagined house actually speaks to my individuality because I put in the time and effort to make it just how I want:)
I visited my old place (large model style home) all that's left are my flash blocks I used to decorate the street I lived on. Was happy to see they were still there :)
But I guess they'll all vanish at some point...
Finding that "missing floor" street - the one that involves jumping up onto the ledge of an apartment building - it might be dangerous! These buildings don't look too stable. :)
The meadow houses are still intact, but they all have "For Sale" signs in front of them now. And you can't go inside, obviously. I just walk back and forth on my old street singing to the butterflies and watering the trees that are left. It will all be gone soon, though, I'm sure!
They don't feel so gutted to me anymore. A lot of the apartments are being used as dumps by players who... don't want to sell or donate their junk for some reason. Which is fine with me, I love the extra cheese.
Though, someone did leave a Piglet there. All alone in an unsanitary dump... The heartless fiends!
Awww, I'm sorry it made ppl sad. I thought there was something magical about the apartment buildings. The next wave of Glitchen will find them and marvel that we lived in the world and not in imagination. There's lots of hiding places for me to drop things for explorers to find. Gives us history and stories that begin with Once upon a time.
Oh no, it was a good thing it made people sad. If anything it's a testament to how players can interact and affect the world, and make changes that appeal to the sentiments of other players. That's what Tiny Speck was aiming for, right? It's a small step, but a step forward in the right direction.
This whole thread made me want to cry. The new houses are better but just because change is good doesn't mean I'm not sentimental about what we're losing. Bye old house.
It is both magical and sad. I think I'll leave one of those notes on my street...our old homes may be outdated, but they were ours for so long. Home...
