love it... maybe you get a snout, curly tail and lovely shade of pink -- and other players can pet you and feed you grain and collect your meat! swine flu and chicken pox! on second thought, you probably wouldn't want to eat that meat...
this also reminds me that i think using sparkly powder should totally get glitter over you and everybody around you and everything/body you touch until the effect wears off. the glitter would probably linger for some time after that and maybe wear off in an exponential fashion such that most of it comes off pretty quickly but then hours or days later you find a bit randomly in your scalp or something.
Along the same lines of the glitter it might be fun for your Glitch character to get flatulence. Maybe a certain type of farty food would produce the effects, and also have some positive, more useful effects like...I dunno, the ability to fly (on a fart).
Diseases would definitely open up potential for new skills and items that characters could acquire to combat the effects.
As long as the cure for tongue depression was something cool like blowing a kazoo, or drinking a delicious beverage. Or licking someone/something imbued with tongue enlivening properties.
Thinking more about using jars to catch frogs, see alpha.glitch.com/forum/idea..., it struck me that Medicine Jars could be employed, not just for amphibians but also for butterflies, mushrooms, insects, snakes, spiders and flowers. These Medicine Jars could then be ground to make medical compounds, used for pharmaceutical powders. Healing energy or mood loss is an obvious use for these but they could also help with sick animals or trees. Or to cure Rook Blight after a sustained Rook attack.
What if productions like laughing gas could go wrong, releasing temporary negative contagious effects to those around? Higher skill levels would reduce the chance of this happening.
