I'm not sure what the future holds for Global-Chat,but I very much like the chatter of people 'in the background'. It gives me the sense that everybody's out and about doin' their thing, not being alone, and the world is ok. It also gives the opportunity to add my two cents worth,or maybe I can answer someone's question,or I could ask a quick question and get answers almost instantly as well as from several different perspectives, and all that without having to stop what I am doing.
Global Chat is a popular tool, but it's its popularity that seems to be its downfall...
..when there are a lot of people it is hard to keep up with it.
So, is there a way to limit how many players/who's "chatter" your reading (ie 'listening' to), perhaps personalise Global-Chat a bit? Maybe by clicking on someone's name and 'hiding' it? Or, better yet, by clicking on a friend's name (who is on-line) and joining the personalised Global-Chat-Line he/she is on?
