  • thanks..... and just sayin, pretty high pricing in the auctions, won't pay that any more, I'll take the time to feed the stupid things.

  • I've found that 20 grain gets you 1 guano every time
Posted 14 months ago by TimeLord Subscriber! | Permalink
  • Great! Thanks.
Posted 14 months ago by Rook Subscriber! | Permalink
  • Just be careful. As all know the items are depleted by precedence, so let's say you started with a stack of 240 and get down to 10 grain left in that stack but have a stack of 250 next to it but also next in line by precedence, if you type 20 grain it will only feed him 10 cause that's all that's left in that first stack. Before I figured out what was happening I was thinking 20 wasn't giving a 100% yield lol

  • I thought of that.

That's not listed on the wiki.

  • 3 eggs = 1 guano

I'm not sure why no one has mentioned this one, since I can't be the first one to have thought of it with so many egg plants next to batterflies.

  • 1 hard bubble = 1 guano. <--This is what I always do.
I only get guano from 3 eggs if the stupid batterfly feels like it.

  • really? sweet.
Posted 14 months ago by Rook Subscriber! | Permalink
  • @Jarhaven
great to know about a new use for the hard bubbles!
I've never had a batterfly not give me the guano for the 3 eggs, but I've not been grinding out guano either, so it's good to know this.

  • I always use 2 meats for 1 guano.  You can feed the same batterfly over and over, too, I think.  Which type of food gives the best returns?
Posted 14 months ago by Cloudie Subscriber! | Permalink
  • I always have a crapton of beans I don't know what to do with and found that 15 beans = 1 guano.  But since I also have a crapton of meat, I like doing 5 meat = 2 guano since it's much faster.  But that pile o'beans in my house is growing again...

  • As I contributed all of your results to the wiki, it occurred to me that the batterflies might be less generous to Glitches/ins with less than toothy grin moods ... any thoughts?
Posted 14 months ago by Flake Subscriber! | Permalink
  • Low mood affects XP bonuses but it would make sense if it also affected batterfly returns. That might be an interesting theory to test, using the same quantity of the same food with different mood levels.

  • Ummm, I always thought that for ONLY 1 Guano you need to give food that's worth 20 Energy.
Posted 14 months ago by TacosBeFriends Subscriber! | Permalink
  • 1 Guano requires 15 energy (aka 3 eggs). I think 2 is 50 energy (aka 5 meat), and 3 is 100. Yes, it's diminishing returns - if you're light on harvestible items you should aim for 15 energy/feeding.
Posted 13 months ago by Sturminator IX Subscriber! | Permalink
  • I don't always get anything with 3 or even 4 eggs, whereas 5 (25 energy) is a guaranteed one guano.  Not sure if it averages out over time to be worth feeding fewer eggs and taking the zero-deliveries - probably, but I don't have the patience to get nothing for my time.  Eggs are free.

  • This may be a stupid noob question, but what's the point of guano? I collected it and I can use it in a recipe, drop it, or give it to someone. Is it worth a lot of currants? Or does it act as a fertilizer or something? Maybe it's silly, but I don't particularly understand it.

Posted 12 months ago by Disturbed Subscriber! | Permalink
  • @theunwrittenword One guano takes crops or herbs from seeds to seedlings - I think it's a 50% speedup.  A second guano speeds them up to 90% growth so they are ready for harvest much faster.  You can use guano in your house or at community gardens though I'd advise avoiding the community herb gardens right now.

  • @theunwrittenword Take a look at the guano entry in the encyclopedia.  Spoiler alert: It's a fertilizer.

  • 10 meat = 3 guano, every time. My meat collector has never been so useful!
Am I right in assuming that 3 guano is the maximum a batterfly can 'release' in one 'go'? Although you can feed the same batterfly over and over again. I've never produced more than 3 guanos despite varying the diet and amount. I think if you feed a batterfly 20 or 30 meat you still get the same 3 guano.

  • 15 grain gets me 1 guano everytime it seems like. and@ twoodle i will trade you grain for meat :D i have tons of it! and meat is very useful to me^^

Edit: also anyone that uses eggs or planks or beans to feed batterflies message me cause i can use all of them! and i will trade you the equivalent amount of grain it takes per guano. :) thanks!! :D

  • @Lei.Lei IKR idc if it is just one, or even if we have to buy it a cage...

    Thanks for the extra stats.

    24 currants > Auction Price :D

  • Messy Fryup = 2 guano, and at 52 currants/energy, not too much of an overspill. 2 x 2 guano feeding takes longer than 1 x 3 guano feeding, but delivers the most poop for your currant.

tried giving 15, that gives 2 guano
tried giving 18, that still gives only 2
Posted 12 months ago by Arietty Subscriber! | Permalink
  • Wow, that stinks. Ty, I guess they would work like planks, since they are of same value.
Posted 12 months ago by Rook Subscriber! | Permalink
  • hmm, you could save a lot more by only dontating 3 eggs at a time, which will reduce half your worries.
Posted 12 months ago by Rook Subscriber! | Permalink
  • 10 meat is 3 guano.
I think the wiki states it's on the cost value of the food item... I'm not going to work it out. Too Late for me here
Posted 12 months ago by jiva Subscriber! | Permalink
  • What's awkward is that you can simply use 9 meat and do it too. Even better would be to use 5 at 2 times and get 4 guano.
Posted 12 months ago by Rook Subscriber! | Permalink
  • Guano release is related to item value. But also, they can "store" value. 15 grain at once will get you a guano, but 15 grains one at a time will also get you a guano.

  • 20 planks = 3 guano, every time :)
Posted 12 months ago by Clarabelle Subscriber! | Permalink
  • @ Negata - Thanks - that's helpful.   But I guess it only stores up to 14?

Has anyone tried what happens if you feed it two meat, then one meat?   Does that second feeding result in a drop?
