The butterflies in my house keep disappearing

Since the change was made to baby animals being cheaper (no idea if it is related) my butterflies keep on disappearing. I log out for the night, log in sometime the next day and I have a lot less butterflies. Logging in after the change I had 4 instead of 6 butterflies and there were some random piles or 2 or 3 milk lying around my house. Today I logged in and I have 2 instead of 6 butterflies and there was one random pile of 4 milk lying around in my house.

Was a change made that butterflies only live for about a day or is something else going on?

  • No, butterflies die quickly. Sing and massage them regularly to give them some life back.

  • But, I had butterflies in my house getting remote milked with not even the ocassional massage or hand milking for weeks without dying. I went on vacation and could not log in for 10 days and came back to all of my butterflies and full remote milking machines. Was that unintentional and now they will die within 24 hours if I do not massage/hand milk them or is this sudden lack of survival past 24 hours what is incorrect?

  • Sing is the equivalent of petting for butterflies, which of course equates to love and attention.

(and ftr, 10 days is equivalent to two months in game time)

  • Right.  They lived untouched for more than 10 real time days (closer to 17 - I logged in and collected milk from the remote keepers after 10 days but never touched the butterflies) and now none of them survive for 24 real time hours untouched.  Did something change?

  • Glitch does not punish you for not being able to log in. If you log in, then maintenance is required. Just like the coin collection badge is not actually going to ask you to set an alarm for every four hours to collect the coins. It's about how many days you were in Glitch.

  • That would explain it, then. Since I got back from my trip I have been playing a lot. Thank you for clarifying that, Kashtana. :)
