Reduce frequency of action-related sounds

Action-related sounds are cute, and add immersion.  However, they are just plain annoying after hearing them the thousandth time.  I suggest that anything that is a non-random result of a player action doesn't *need* a sound to announce it.

So, I suggest that action-related sounds be reduced in frequency, with the chance declining the more that action has been performed.  Initially, the chance would be 1, decreasing towards a limit of 0.  I suggest a log or exponential curve so that the change feels gradual.

  • I was really happy with the balance of action sounds before the latest update. Anything that gets me closer to that again will be greatly appreciated.

The little "click" sound of harvesting crops is all I need to know that an action has successfully been registered.

  • (I put a similar idea in another post, but just for completeness, I wanted to record it in the ideas forum.)

Another option would be to have the sounds only occur when there is an unusual result of the action.  I.e., you only get the noise if you get a super harvest or extra item generated.  This way, the sounds can be stronger and hearing them has a meaning.

Otherwise, the same sound occurring for player-generated actions becomes just like a "key click".
