How much do we want glitch to stay? What are we willing to do to ensure its survival?

I call on the devs to bring together a list of everything that would be required for the game to survive. Make it detailed and technical. There are those of us out here who i know would be willing to sacrifice time, money and skills to keep this game alive.

So please, give us a list of what you need, and we will all give our very best to offer up what is needed.

  • If it's money they need, I'm sure many of us would be willing to provide.

However, this game needs more than money. It needs plans. Plans to allow it to survive with regular income.

I say we start with text-based ads on certain screens. It's not much, but it's a start.

Also: Tiny Speck, please let us know what needs to happen. We WANT to help, so let us do that.

    There's still hope.

  • What about offering a way to earn credits thru ads? Or watching videos from ads? I know it sounds like smallworlds, but anything for Glitch to stay. The companies pay glitch to show us an ad and in return we get a small amount of credits for watching.

And ads on certain pages is a wonderful idea too.

  • I was thinking about this earlier, and it seems like one of the major things Glitch needs to survive is an influx of people. This is where we can really help! If TS would turn back on the tutorial experience and the registration for new players, we could start a massive ad campaign, primarily by sending messages about the game to gaming and pop culture celebrities - i.e. people with lots of followers who also appreciate quirky, fun, different, and innovative games, all of which Glitch is - and ask them to spread the word.

Would this make a difference, TS people? Because with all the manpower you've got in this community I'm sure we could make one heck of a big ad campaign if that's what you need. Please give us a chance to save our game!

ETA: I'll turn off AdBlock for you guys, TS. <3

ETA2: Also, as I mentioned somewhere else, what about Kickstarter? Either to keep the game going, or just to get money for ads even, if that's what you need.

  • If flash is a problem, rework it as a console game and sell it. I'd buy it. I'd buy it all. If he goes this way again, I hope third time's lucky for stoot.

Or a PC game even, as we know everyone already have those, but not everyone has consoles (like myself, for instance). :~D

  • If only they had thought of clicking the "export to Xbox/iPhone/PC" button.

  • Let's not pester anyone, they probably have their hands full at the moment. Knowing that a dev is aware of this thread would be nice though.

  •  I just think they should have opened up for regular sign up a long time ago. After the time of Farmvile nobody feels good inviting people to games, knowing how people hate it.

  • I only started playing a few months back, but it was fun and different from most stuff on the net.  I too, wish there was a soundtrack or mugs.

A wallpaper pack of the maps or different areas, a screen grab of all the items etc.
There are lots of different things, real and digital that could possibly be sold to players etc.

Lots of fun, I will miss getting to go to Ur every now and then.

  • If someone is willing to drop a few million dollars down.. then we could keep glitch alive

  • The idea isnt that someone drops a few million down. It's that we all start donating, inviting, advertising and campaigning, and within the time we have left we can probably, between what i guess to be us 10'000 glitchens, double our numbers. Then those new people can invite even more people, and snowball effect this game.

  • If the game never launched and the projected number of users, I wonder what level subscriptions would be to continue?

  • I think it's a little inappropriate to pester people who just lost their jobs & income.  Let's all just let them know we are all here for them & appreciate all the time and hard work they have spent creating this amazing game for us.  As much as I know we would all love to know the specific reasons Glitch didn't stay afloat, understand TS did everything possible to avoid this outcome *hugs to you all*

  • Everything possible except ask several thousand people who are willing to help, for help.....

Which seems like it should've been the first step taken?

The entire point is if we know what needs doing, we'll try our hardest to do it. So then they won't have lost their jobs.....

  • I can't imagine this was an easy decision for the devs to come to, but we should respect that it was their decision. Maybe some time in the future, they'll feel able to relaunch it, but for now all we can do is support them and offer to help however we can without forcing it on them.

What might be nice, though, is if they maybe put some ads up for the remainder of the time left, or put things like soundtracks and artwork collections up for sale so that the people who devoted their time and effort into creating this site have a shot at getting a good amount monetary compensation - they definitely deserve it!
