Giant genders

I've been cleaning up the individual giant pages for the Glitch Strategy Wiki.  Of all the giants, Alph and Spriggan don't have genders mentioned while the others do (even Tii is overtly gender-neutral).

Has anyone seen official references regarding this, or are any staff able to speak for the team on this?

  • Well, Spriggan looks like a Georgia O'Keeffe work crossed with a Lovecraftian abundance of eyes. I'd say female. Nothing says "female demiurge" like a vayjayjay with eyeballs.

  • there are references on the shrines and in the tree and animal narratives to the genders of the giants.  whether or not you consider the trees and animals to be trustworthy narrators is one thing, but the info on the wiki is taken from in-game references.

  • Oooo, that's a thought. I'll see if u can find some scripting from bubble trees or what not. Thanks!

  • when you donate to the shrine, it says "(giant) loves you, but (s/he)'d love you more if you donate."

i have not noticed any that do not include a gendered pronoun. i don't remember which is which, but they're there if you look.

  • I'm just wondering why the intro text is the same to both "Mab" and "Pot" in the Glitch wiki.

  • Ooo, must be my error.  I'll fix it in the next few days.  Just moved house, so priorities have shifted. Thanks Zeezee!

Flask: I wonder what Tii's shrine says, being distinctly non-gendered.

  • Probably says "it." LOL

  • Tii's shrine says 'they' - there was some discussion of this when it was first noticed as to whether Tii is both or neither genders. I can't remember what the supporting documentation is exactly, but the answer turned out to be both.

  • Okay it's a mark of how late it is that I read the title of this thread and thought of "giant" as an adjective. For a second. Sorry. Back to topic with you all....

  • I've journeyed to consult the elders, and have now returned to tell you that the colossal pair are both male.
