There's a new upgrade ('Appreciation of Food Variety') which gives bonus imagination for eating a variety of crafted food. (The upgrade is intended for low level players, so most of you will get it in the next re-deal or two.)
Only higher-level crafted food counts (not plain ol' meat or eggs or beans, etc.) — a complete list of the items is in a comment below. The bonus is the equivalent of 25% of the food's energy value if it has been a full game day (four hours) since you last ate that type of food and 50% if it has been at least 30 game days (a bit less than a week).
You'll know that food will give you a bonus because the normal "Eat" verb will be replaced with "Eat • Bonus iMG" (or "Eat • SuperBonus iMG" for the 30 day version). You can eat as much as you can fit in your belly and get bonus iMG for the food value of all of it (so, it's better to run your tank down and eat a fat stack of things that will give you a bonus).
The intention behind this change is to give chefs a bit of a boost — all of us who do not currently cook will be more likely to buy your wares (and a variety of them, to boot).
All of these rules are subject to extensive tweaking over the next few weeks (example: we might cap the amount you can get from a single type of food in a day; we might introduce more bonus tiers, we might tie to do calendar game days/resets rather full four hour periods, etc.).
And that's about it: start complaining … now!
