Most energy efficient foods?

So I haven't gotten around to actual number-crunching yet, but I've found that the Simple BBQ and the Juicy Carpaccio seem to be my frequent staples in terms of simple, inexpensive recipes yielding big energy payoffs... curious what others find to be effective...

  • I've been making a lot of Ix-style braised meat since I learned the recipe. It wins out for me because it doesn't require produce or groceries vendors -- just things I can easily collect as I wander. I think all it takes is meat, tuned bubbles, and some spices.

  • Ditto for Ix-style braised meat. Gives something like 160 energy for a few spices, bubbles, and meat.

  • i like the lx style meat as well - i do make the occasional awesome stew because i have most of the stuff and i like the 200 energy per dish boost. but it is expensive to make.

it depends what kind of game you are playing...if you are into making food...the answer is likely to be different than if you are mining and need a boost with minimal energy expenditure. at which case, check the auctions, there is lots ready made to buy.

speaking of which - i noticed there aren't a lot of high energy things to make with eggs...maybe we could see a fix for that?

  • How do you get the recipe for Ix-style meat? That sounds perfect for me. I don't really have much of a system for food at the moment.

Ix meat is made in the Awesome Pot.  You need to reach a fairly high level achievement with the pot to get the recipe

  • It's fairly easy to make Juicy Carpaccio and they have a high energy return according to the spreadsheet.

  • @Windborn I can see how you got your name if you eat tons of cabbage ;-)

  • Well, I know this isn't a food but I know if I'm getting really low then I just meditate a few times.  It's 10 to 25 energy for nothing but a few seconds (and that's only for focused meditation).

I have a bunch of the Mexicali eggs though so I'm using them for now.  60 energy isn't too bad but I had to make 11 or so of them for a quest anyway.

  • Abbasid Ribs, Cedar Plank Salmon and Expensive Grilled Cheese have been my faves so far (though the grilled cheese is more energy intensive). And the Fortifying Gruel is WHOA-inducing!

  • Meat Tetrazzini is my favorite to make (Awesome Pot) and gives 192 energy per bowl (if I remember correctly)  :)

  • Awesome Stew FTW!  200 energy a pop, 12 in a stack.  Most everything except parsnips can be farmed right at home - and an excellent reason for me to pick up Croppery.
