Block?

So, if using the block feature doesn't actually block me from seeing a person's text in local chat, what does it do exactly?  I just blocked someone because they were mean.  I can't say it was abusive, so I didn't report it as such, but I certainly don't want to hear from that person again until or unless they can say something nice.

  • It blocks them from being able to IM you or add you as a friend.  The devs have mentioned that they are considering changing it so you can't see what the other player says in Global or Local.

  • That can't IM you, add you as a friend, send mail, request following or request trading.

But, we are in the middle of revising this :)

  • When you block someone, that person cannot IM you or see where you are. If they haven't added you to their friend list, they can no longer do so. If they have, I'm not sure what happens. While on the same street, the other person cannot interact with you (hugging, splank, etc.) except to possibly Block/Report.

edit: I'm so behind on answering xD

  • I have an alternate suggestion, if someone's behavior is really objectionable then perhaps a community option - like if enough people think you're a dick they can boot you from the area.

These bootings get reported so that staff can then decide if the actions of the person warrant getting kicked off the game.

The one drawback to this is if a group of bullies boot someone. But the reporting would make the staff aware of either situation.

  • reduces incoming damage by 30%, and. . . . wait. . . wrong game.

But yeah, I personally like the current version of "block", and I hope it sticks around, even if as an option.

Either give me the option to "partial block" or "full block" someone, or make it a setting that applies to everyone I've ever blocked.

    IMO.
