Player created Beer

To remove the shop dependence on beer, the following recipes have been proposed.
I think it should require Potion-making 1 and  Master Chef, to imitate the process by which its created.

Purple + Grain = Hops (in master chef pot)
Hooch + Hops  (in cauldron)

or something along these lines. Its even possible that Hops could be a new herb that would be grow-able.

  • I agree. The more we can get those vendor-only items out into the world for our harvesting/crafting enjoyment, the better. :)

My idea in the past was to make an alcohol tree, but this sounds better!

  • What about Red/Green Element instead of Purple?
Street price for purple is 12c, for beer 10c. The difference on auctions is much higher.
That clearly does not add up.

  • Simple: Add a new spice: Hops. Costs, say, five allspice.
Add spice + grains/oats  to still for beer output.
One could argue that you should do this in a cauldron to create the wort.
But the still seems to have a little more intelligence built in than the cauldron, so may as well not make the devs sweat TOO much.

  • Yeah, I don't care so much how we can do it...I just think more player created items the better.

I like the idea of adding additional options to the stills. We could in theory make quite a few drinks that way.

  • I think a great new tool would be the brewer. Using it would require the learning of Distilling. Works like hooch except combines Hooch and Grain to make Beer.
