Credits are too expensive.

Am I the only person who thinks that the credits are a little overpriced? Like, gift shop overpriced?

  • I am not objecting. Where am I doing that? You are assuming and speculating (your own words). I am only applying my own opinions coming from a different viewpoint. I certainly support TS getting as many subscribers and credit purchases as possible, as I have demonstrated in multiple forum posts in the past.

  • @Windborn   I think it is important to remember that the "they" that developed Flickr were Butterfield and his (now ex-) wife Caterina Fake.  Fake was a business major who is now on the board of Etsy. Butterfield was a philosophy major and, I suspect, the more artistically creative half of the partnership. As far as I know, Fake is not involved in Glitch.

This background is one reason that I suspect that Butterfield might not be interested in spending the rest of his life running Glitch.

But I hope I am wrong. It would be wonderful to have the creative genius watching over Glitch forever. I hope that Butterfield retains ownership and stays involved in the game forever.

  • You may want to dig a bit deeper into who, in addition to Stewart and Caterina, was involved in the development of Flickr, and compare that with the people who started Glitch.  Stewart is not doing this as a sole proprietor.

  • Wow, it must be so weird to have your personal history and motivations examined and speculated on in a public forum like this.

  • I am now picturing a one-eyed Glitch dressed up as a viking... over a brown plaid suit.

I don't know if this is horrible or awesome.

  • Somebody set off my World of Warcraft fact checking alarm and I would like to set the record straight that WoW is not, in fact, "free to play" simply because it is free to play until level 20, because one does not begin actually playing WoW until they hit max level. Carry on.

  • I live on a tight budget. I did elect to purchase a membership for this game, which was my CHOICE. If I have extra money I may elect to purchase more credits only because I know they will be doubled when the game goes live. After the games goes live...I will survive with what I get with my subscription.
I'm sure whether they appear to be expensive to someone depends very much on what amount of disposable income they have. If you feel they cost too much, don't get the subscription and don't buy them.
I have chosen to keep the top 2 floors of my house decorated with free items or items given to me by friends. The only floor I intend to "spend" credits on is the 1st floor. Oh, and clothes of course!!! Can't forget clothes, although I do know some players that choose to not wear any, or wear very little and I LOVE IT!!!
