Items with attributes/stats

This needs to happen, like noi! Haha... No, really. I think it would make this game soooo much more addicting and fun if you could find or craft items that have attributes/stats or items that can enchant your clothing or tools!

A couple examples:
A mining pick with +1 to +10 mining on it that would give you a chance to get the +plus amount every time you mine.

A cutting board with +1 to * in cooking that would give you a percentage chance at consuming none of the crafting resources.

Food with bonuses! You could have food that could do some nifty stuff, like a percentage chance of not using any energy for a certain type of action.

Echants! Enchant the clothes in your wardrobe! Creating a mining suit that has bonuses to mining.

This could be really fun =)

  • I like this idea :D If they could make only crafted items have the bonuses, while store-boguht items have none, that'd be an incentive to use the auction house for tools.

  • Yes, agreed! The auction house is not being used enough. I have a cron job set up to scan every auction once a minute. It's kind of sad how little it is being used. Check out a couple minutes of activity, on the weekend where it should be going nuts!

Note: I just bought this domain and set it up about 10 minutes ago, so I'm not sure if you will be able to see the link yet. So sorry if you can't now, but you will be able to see it soon.

  • I know this is a bit old, but I've been thinking about this too. I agree that items with attributes (craftable only) would boost incentive to buy/interact with other players rather than from NPCs.

Maybe crafting a +X object should also require also extra items that a 'normal' item would not (e.g., maybe some extra ore or a gem for a +1 pick, etc.)

  • Nonononono to clothes with attributes.  Anyone who played The Matrix Online knows why that is an absolutely terrible idea, no matter how good it sounds on paper; you end up with hundreds of clothing options, but only 5 or 6 that ever get used because they are the 'high tier' sweaters and trousers.  It becomes very ridiculous, very quickly.

Now, for tools, I could go for that.  High level tinkerers and engis need more use out those skills.  Just saving a very currants by repairing their things and making little by selling new ones isn't that useful.  Even after things like the High Class Ho are removed from shops, having bonuses would make player crafted tools much more appealing than store bought trash in bulk.  Getting high chances of super harvests isn't a very good idea though, since the higher up players would inevitably drive down prices, making it very hard for newer players to make a living as a gather.

    Some suggestions would include:

Top Ho: This baby knows how to work all the corners.  Using this tool harvests your entire garden at once, but takes wear for each plot.  Don't worry too much though; this girl is sporting diamonds and can take a little rough treatment.  The best part?  She does all the work for you, so you can sit back and let her do her thing.
(As the description implies, it would require some diamonds to craft, making it a very high end item.  Also, you can plow your whole field in one swing, so it only requires as much energy to plow as one plot normally would.  Also, about the innuendo, I am just following suit as the game itself already has a High Class Ho item.)

Auto-Irrigator: Sure, you can have your butterflies milked and your piggies nibbled while you are a way from home, but you still have to come back to nourish your garden.  UNTIL NOW!  Just strap in your trusting watering can, and watch as it waters your fields for you!
(Auto waters your garden plots once they reach 50% water levels.  Causes wear to attached water can each time, so cheap cans won't last long, thus creating more demand for higher end cans that only tinkerers would be able to craft.)

  • You are right, the clothing with attributes doesn't seem like a good fit, specially sicne we have subscriber-only clothing items- too unbalancing.

    More suggestions:
    Nose Pick
(+1, 2, 3, 4, 5)- They call it that because they say it sniffs out gems. You could use it for that too, if you want to. *Manufacturer not liable for nose-related injuries*
(Attribute: Slightly increases chance of gems. Requires amber, sapphire, ruby, moonstone or diamond, respectively.)

Chicken Squeezer- Does what it says it does. Nobody can be creative all the time.
(Collects grain from chickens at home)

Also maybe bigger bags holding 15 or 30 items can be craftable.

  • Love this idea, would really add alot to the game, and stimulate the current non-existent economy. It would also add meaningful goals to players,

"Oh, i just gotta get 500 more currants so i can buy that new pick I've always wanted"
