I'm curious to know how international Glitch is intended to be eventually.
I noticed I could type Japanese characters into my news feed and into the in-game chat window (though at the moment, the Japanese characters are not appearing in the character speech-bubbles).
Now, this has been asked before, but I couldn't find a dev response to this: What if you can't understand English?
Obviously it's difficult/impossible to implement a feature that translates real-time chat and I appreciate that other languages may not be considered in the immediate future - however I'd like to propose a list of set sentences a player can choose from. Simple things like 'Hello', 'Goodbye', 'Thank you', 'Trade?' (and other social, game, quest and street project related sentences). The player will see these set sentences in their native language.
Example of use: Glitch1 is Russian and bumps into Glitch2 who is English. They don't understand each other. Glitch1 navigates their mouse cursor to the global/live chat window and next to the chat text field there is a 'set speech' icon. They click on this icon and a list of set sentences appears. They select 'Hello! Want to trade?' (in Russian) and it automatically appears in the chat text field. They select enter and it appears in their speech bubble / global chat window. Glitch2 sees their chit-chat however they see 'Hello! Want to trade?' in English.
I really like the idea of people from all over the world being able to interact and communicate without having to worry about language barriers :)
