I've noticed it from the start, but whoever did the animations for the chickens needs a billion hugs. Nothing cracks me up more than watching them climb, and the little face they make when you mouse over them and they're waiting to be squeezed. Both are genius!
I agree with Violet, when the chickens turn and look right at you, I laugh every time. The look on their faces are priceless. They remind me of Gloria Swanson in Sunset Boulevard--"I'm ready for my closeup, Mr. DeMille...."
I've taken dozens of screenprints of the chicks and piglets when they are in my inventory. Sometimes their expressions are all different at the same time.
I had also one where the chick was 'looking' at the piglet beside it and it looked like a laurel and hardy moment.
I love the details in the scenery at Ilmenskie. The red coral snake, the creepy crawlies drawn into the soil section of the different locations.
I love the fossils imprinted into the cavern walls.
Oh yes and I love love that single red element trapped in the ceiling of my cottage!
from the swamps...
I love the campfire setup at Badvi Bist in Kalavana. I also love the hidden lake on Palsa Mosch which you can see in that picture (or by using snapshottery, not sure about eyeballery) but you cannot see on the street itself. Oh, and though this isn't a "little touch" so much, I love love love the eggducks on various swamp streets (most notably in the lakes on the residential streets without the campfire).
from Alakol...
I almost always have to stop and admire the stonehenge-y hand sticking out of the ground but best of all is the different views of it on differentstreets.
I love the little fossils hidden in rocks here and there throughout the game. And there's a face on a tree that I bump into now and then--a really amazing face.
New favorite thing is the sound when you make potions with the cauldron. Just finished potionmaking so I haven't used it that many times but it makes me SQUEE.
Also, love the teleportion animation face, and the face made when you take purple flowers when the screen flashes purple.
There's a tree with a somewhat grumpy face (I'm pretty sure he's in Ferncaster End), I so wanna tickle his nose!
The thing that makes me laugh,is when chickens say 'ping' as they give you the hatchling. LOL!
And I totally love the wee tune and sounds during essence making, they 'tickle' my eardrums. =D
And I think the bureaucrock sitting in the cubicle at a PC in the bureaucratic offices,is playing a game during work hours,it looks like FV to me! snicker...
I've been enjoying the amount of detail in the backgrounds, the way you can see different landmarks from different angles and distances in different streets, or how some of the ancestral lands have mountains in the backgrounds, depending on what regions they are close to. It's a gorgeous amount of planning and detail that I didn't even start noticing until I had been playing the game for a couple of months. Wow.
I am continually amazed by the level of detail in this game. My latest discovery is hitting 'Enter' as soon as I've played a Gameshow ticket; the icon that comes up in the selection menu 'poofs' into being just like the real thing!
The quotes from TS Eliot and ee cummings in the Purple world.
The face the gnomes make after they've spoken.
The fact that the tool vendor in Level 4 East appears to be a croc.
@richi : I was level 14 or so when I got my house in Groddle Meadows. I thought all the cottages came with the red element; like a red lantern of sorts. Was only when visitors asked why I had a red element on top that I realised it was somehow popped in. I did try to remove my little red element but now I love love love it so much that I dread moving when the new houses made it compulsory to vacate. :(
Sorries to hear about the bubble! Did you take a screen print of it?
- The prime numbers for achievements. Initially I thought they were just being quirky with the strange numbers until I made the connection.
- When chickens climb ladders it's really cute.
- The rock-mining puns: "What's mined is yours", "Are you trying to pick me up?" etc. I love puns >.< I'm pretty sure the wood trees make innuendos as well.
- I like it how when you express laughter or happiness through chat your Glitch acts accordingly by laughing or smiling.
Ok, this is out of game and hardly something someone wouldn't notice if they went to the page, but it cracked me up & I thought y'all might appreciate it, too: the subscribe page has a Bureaucroc announcement on it.
I've always wondered: Are the bureaucrats all reptilian because of the belief some people have that Lizard People from the Hollow Earth are actually in control of the government? Seriously, people actually believe this -- check any conspiracy forum.
