[Question] Growing Wood Tree in backyard

So I'm from Andra & I'm trying to grow a wood tree in my backyard.
I started since yesterday & wondering how long do they take to fully grow? (Can they fully grow in my area)
I already know A full grown wood tree has four branches on the very top.

I've tried both Fertilidust & Fertilidust lite more then 5 bottles each & watering and petting.
I even had a friend come by to pet & water along with using Fertilidust & it still will not grow the last part of the tree. @____@

Side note: Doing this for a quest to grow 5 full grown trees in a backyard.
Here is a picture of my tree: i39.tinypic.com/2z3qjbc.png

(Meh. Sorry about the double double post post.)

  • Hmm, that many bottles ought to have it fully grown. You might submit a bug report.

They can grow fully in your area, as they can in all areas (except dark patches).

Unless things have changed, though, the wood tree will not count toward that quest. I had that quest at the end of beta and lived in a 50k with 4 patches (had just moved there).

Well I didn't want to have to poison any trees to get that quest done, so I thought, "I'll plant the 3 trees I want, then plant the wood tree I want.. clear it after it's full grown and plant another." That did not work, even though the first got to full growth. I had to grow a different tree and poison it, then grow another and poison it to get my 5 trees and then get back to the wood tree I originally wanted in that patch.

  • That tree in the picture has four branches-- it's just that the fourth branch blends in with the stone in the background.

  • @Mowglii:That picture you linked to shows a fully grown wood tree.

  • @ Tryvalen & Warrender: It's not counting it nor did the little notice
come up saying that it's a full grown tree.

I'm starting to agree with Little Miss Giggles is right about it being bugged.

  • I just figured out you only get quest credit for the fully grown wood tree if the final stage in its development is done through petting rather than fertilidust.  (You can use fert for the earlier stages.)

  • Mowglii: I don't know that not counting toward the quest is a bug. That may very well be intended. I just know that wood trees do not count toward the quest.

As for it not giving a full grown message, I don't remember if they do or not, so you may want to make sure it's not a bug and is indeed fully grown.

  • Leites is correct.  The reason it's not giving you credit is because you probably used fertilidust to get it to the final stage of its development.

  • Fertilidust works for the other trees to get credit for the quest. Perhaps that is buggy then (ETA: I say this as I feel either all should count under fertilidust or none should). I don't think I used fertilidust on my wood tree before though when I didn't get credit.

  • I grew a wood tree and it counted toward my quest.

  • Your tree is fully grown! For the quest you should grow other trees - I did.

  • I'm having the same issue--fully grown wood tree, no credit for it.  I used fertilidust light on all of them, and it didn't seem to affect whether the others counted.

  • I reported this as a bug and got a response back saying they are investigating it. They did say that it is far easier to get this quest with other types of trees--I recommend cutting your wood trees down and trying something else until this bug is sorted out. I completed the quest easily with other tree types--I got zero credit for my three wood trees.

  • Can't you just cut one branch off and then regrow it with petting and watering?

  • You can only get credit for a fully grown tree once per wood tree. If it hits fully grown whether through Ferti dust or petting/watering, you cannot get credit for it again until a new wood tree replaces it.

  • @zu, no i haven't replanted my wood tree and i recently got the help 7 wood trees grow to full health achievement. i just pet and water till it grows the 4th branch, then harvest till its only 3 branches and then repeat and harvest the same tree.

  • Weird,  because I was doing the same thing at first but never got any credit. Then again I was probably ferti-dusting that final layer more than I remember :)
