Stacking Piggy Feeders?

I ran a search on this but wasn't sure if the information was up to date (and got conflicting reports anyway) - does anybody know if stacking piggy feeders on top of one another will work to take up less space on a home street? Will they still perform? I love how they look on top of each other but don't want to come home to a pile of expired pork. :/ Thanks in advance!

  • They wil not work if they are right on top of each other.

  • ^^^ As much as I am reluctant to disagree with Lord Bacon-o in matters concerning pork: my piggy feeders are stacked five or six high and they work fine.

But my understanding is that Meat Collectors may not work if they are stacked.

  • Alright, FOR SCIENCE I'm going to try it a couple days and see if I come back to porkpiles. I can always make more eggs. I'll report my results.

  • I have 8 feeders  packed exactly on top of each other and they work fine.

My collectors though have to be off set if only by one pixel

  • Collectors have to be offset because they fill up in a particular order, but as far as I've seen piggies are not too concerned about which feeder they're using.  (Also, one pixel isn't always enough for collectors.)

  • Yeah, what previous posters have said :) I have like 18 feeders all stacked perfectly atop one another, but I keep my collectors a solid half collector apart to keep them in working order, and for ease of differentiation :)

  • Both my collectors and feeders are setup where they overlap with the prior on by close to 95- 99% (just enough so that they are not right on top of one another). As long as the collectors have a distinct first, second, third, etc. they will work.

  • To reinforce:
    Feeders stacked DO work
Collectors stacked DO NOT work (that goes for milk collectors too).
