  • Why not Glitches?

  • Well, 'Glitchen' sounds to me like a plural of 'Glitch'.  'Glitchian' sounds more like an adjective - 'of, or pertaining to Glitch'.

  • I use Glitchen. "Glitchian" would make more sense if the land were Glitch... but it is Ur.

  • Glitchen was coined by Lelu in the Goodnight Groddle song.  It refers to ALL Glitches everywhere throughout time/space/memory.  Glitches is a plural but refers to a subset of Glitchen.

Glitcheroonies is a variation on the slang term "homies", "my dirty", "peeps", etc...

  • And don't forget the Glitchen surfing mantra: "Glitchin', brah" or the delicious lager, "Glitchenbrau!"

  • "glitchae"

This makes my inner botanist squee with joy.  I'm just sayin.

  • Glitcheroonies is something I just made up.  One of my friends adds -eroonie to people's names.  I tend more towards adding -mund.

  • So... what are inhabitants of Ur called? Like all of us, together. Whether we're Glitchen or Piggies, from Alakol or the Swamps.

    Urlings?
    Urchens?

  • In most of the stuff written by Tiny Speck, I've seen it written as Glitches.  I don't think I've ever seen it written as Glitchen, actually.  *goes off to read the blog and website copy*

  • I think you can use Glitchen or Glitches like people or persons. Anyways, that's how I've been using it.

I also like Glitchizens as an alternative to citizens.

  • Well, I checked through their blog and it looks like they've been calling us Glitches. So I suppose that's the official plural!

  • If you play the GNG Musicblock the lady sings "glitchens". Case closed.
Posted 14 months ago by Ernest Subscriber! | Permalink
  • Then do I ignore what was posted on the official blog?
Posted 14 months ago by Myuki Subscriber! | Permalink
  • Oooh. And here I was using Glitches all the time. Glitchen it is.
Posted 14 months ago by Mal'akh Subscriber! | Permalink
  • And another blog post uses Glitchen. Sigh. I'll settle for Glitchen. lol
Posted 14 months ago by Myuki Subscriber! | Permalink
  • But then you also have to remember the lullaby on the GNG Musicblock was composed and sung by a player, like us. :)  They do seem to use Glitches more often in official text.  Shrugs?

  • I was so sure that there was something official somewhere stating where Glitch (noun, s), Glitches (noun, pl), Glitchen (noun, collective) and the adjectival Glitchen (adj) were used.  I remember the, perhaps unhelpful, example of "We are Glitchen" being used somewhere?  It's not on the About page but I'm so sure it was somewhere......

Am I hallucinating?  Did anyone else remember reading that?

  • I like Glitchen for the plural (as in brethren, the old plural of brothers), and Glitchian for the adjective (the Glitchian way of doing things)

  • After the plural form is settled, we can move to the Collective Noun.
Posted 14 months ago by Mal'akh Subscriber! | Permalink
  • Pretty much everyone uses "Glitchen" don't they?

As for collective noun, a gaggle of Glitchen sounds good to me!

  • I prefer glitchen, but I think any of the words mentioned here are just fine. I don't see why there has to be just one way to say it :)
