What Do You Do With Emblems After You Make Icons?

I have all eleven icons, and one emblem of each giant that I carry for energy and mood boosts.  Since I am at level 45 and have much work ahead to reach level 60, I am continuing to donate as usual to build XP.  My concern is, What do I do with the emblems I continue to earn?  They take up a lot of space whether you line them up on the ground or put them in bags.  You can't sell them or donate them.  Is there any reason to keep them?  Maybe I have missed something, but if there is a use for them I don't know it.  What's to keep me from just dropping them for others to pick up?  I don't really think this is fair either, because I think they should be earned.  Advice, please?

  • You can spend them to speed up skill learning... they act as if you had spent 1000 favor at that giant's shrine. Or if you choose, you can sell them in trades. People usually buy them for around 5k currants each.

  • What Polk said, and I think Trading them for Currents are a good thing, unless you are collecting stuff like Dolls, Cubimals, etc. Or the Quest to Iconize Emblems three times, I guess. I know you said "because I think they should be earned.", but I still think it's the best way. Or create a Icon and maybe just- give it out in Lotteries, I guess.

  • I would sell them. Plenty of people would like help getting their own set of icons, so I could imagine that there's an active market for emblems.

  • you're level 45 and you haven't figured out that you can spend favor for learning time?  stop getting emblems and spend favor to save time on skills.

  • Well you've asked the right question. I find myself in the same situation. However I've spent all my emblems on learning and have reduced my acquisition of emblems dramitcally. The only emblems I go for now is the one's that maximize my learning speed.

  • I appreciate your comments, but I still feel like I'm in a dilemma.  I really don't want to sell them, and that's a hassle since you can only advertise them in the forums.  It seems like half the space in the forums is taken up with such stuff.  As for learning, I don't have very many skills left to learn, but I do think I will pursue that route for now.  I am not aware of a quest to iconize emblems three times, haven't been offered that one - or is it a badge?  I guess I'm hoping the devs will come up with another solution eventually.  Thanks for all ideas!

  • @Running Man - Of course I know that I can spend favor, that's all I did until I was in the mid to upper 20's levels.  But, I don't have that many skills left to learn.

  • The Emblem Trading group is much better way to trade/sell your emblems than the Forums.

  • I'd second the emblem trading group - i'm not sure why people don't use it more. I found the group chat the most helpful, since it was easier to coordinate with whoever is online when i am.

the second option is not to get an emblem. I've stopped iconizing (since i have so many other things to focus on). So i just donate until i'm under the emblem limit, and spend the favour. I get that my style of play (i really don't care about levelling up) and yours might be different, and thus for more xp you'd rather get a higher donation threshold. But this way, it might be slightly slower (11 max under limit donations per game day only) but still significant?

  • I have quite a stash of emblems. I actually stack them in one pile on the floor of my house, which takes up very little space. I have recently starting selling them off through the Emblem Trading group; as others have mentioned, if you hop on chat, you can easily find people wanting to trade/buy emblems.

  • FWIW, not everyone believes in spending favor to speed learning.  Learning all the skills imposes a penalty on future skill learning.  I have both actively _unlearned_ a number of skills and decided not to learn others in order to lessen this penalty.  With this style of game play, speeding learning makes no sense.
