It's a DEIMAGINATING Conspiracy

So... I just have to vent. I finally got another crack at smuggling. I followed someone's great advice, jumping over the DeI and then walking slowly along each street, all the way from somewhere in Shimla Mirch to ONE SCREEN WIDTH away from Baby Steppes. The signpost was just off the edge of the window.
And then the stinking, cheating lizard swiped my package without ever getting close to me!
I hadn't been experiencing lag. Everything had been great, but the package just went POOF! And he never moved closer than barely in the picture to the right of me.

Honestly, TS, if you're going to have this incredibly infrequent challenge, at least make it fair!

Okay, I'm done venting now. I feel much better.

  • Huh, that actually sounds really wrong. You could see the deimaginator at the far edge of your screen and the package still disappeared? I've done dozens of smuggling runs and I've never had anything like that happen. How frustrating! If you're sure it wasn't lag or anything, I'd encourage you to submit a bug report.

  • That Deimaginator is in some of the highest ranks.

Not all of them are noobs.

  • I ignore the little creep. I think he's best friends with Rube.

  • I agree with Sirentist, as I too have done plenty of smuggler quests and not have what you described occur.

  • I did it twice, lost pkg just when I was about to finish, I just ignore him, don't really enjoy this quest... just my 2cents...

  • I smuggle way more than I oughtta admit, and I have started seeing/not seeing weird deimaginator behaviour. Today I heard him teleport somewhere, and then he wasn't visible anywhere on the street. Then he teleported again a little while later on that same street, and I see him fine. It seemed like he must have been walking around invisible. I'm not sure now, but I thought when I heard the teleport sound I saw him appear out of nothing just as he started to teleport from one spot to the other.

But ... I have been known to get weird around deimaginators. I wish they could be seen by everyone on a street, like the Rube, then we could have smuggling clinics so everyone could get comfy with them. My usual green guy has been appearing stuck like a shrub in the dirt more often lately too.

  • I've done that quest quite a few times now, with 3 or 4 successful runs. That def sounds weird but keep at it & you'll make it through!

  • WHATS THE HECK IS SMUGGLING! Seriously, I hear about all the time, but I have absolutely no idea what it is. Can someone please explain?

  • Flash, you should report a bug. I've done this quest dozens of times and nothing similar has never happened to me, but that might be since I haven't done it in a while. I'm sure TS dudes will fix it in no time!

  • @Misty Power:

Check the wiki which includes link to spoilers, but you don't need to click them

  • The other day as I clicked on a shrine, I noticed the grayed-out verb Prime, and when I hovered over it, it said, "You can prime a shrine only in the presence of enemies of imagination."

Seems to me that a pretty good example of an enemy of imagination would be, you know, a De-Imaginator.

It made me wonder, has anyone ever tried priming a shrine when the De-Imaginators are after you?

  • Priming the shrine is really for Rook attacks. Though, to be honest, I have never attempted to do so when a deimaginator is near.
