i think she wanted mmos specifically plurp, i used to play alot but recently mmos have started to bore me, but there's something about glitch that draws me in
Heh, I'm curious about games in general, not just mmos. I don't play any other mmos myself- most don't really engage me. I've been playing Mass Effect and Dragon age lately.
Dwarf Fucking Fortress. If you're not familiar, it's like Minecraft for the truly hardcore. Lately I've also been playing Mass Effect 2, which is pretty awesome, and I just beat Aquaria. Yeah, my taste in games is pretty diverse.
well if you wanna get down to the nitty gritty XD, more of a rpg kinda guy altho lately there haven't been alot of good ones comin out or any at all for that matter, ff 13 was ok but wasn't the best, tales series will always be the best rpg series in my eyes but i guess im sorta getting off point since i don't currently play any of those games... black ops mostly for right now
Lord of the Rings Online f2p, I tend to transfer some of the game play between games at first when I play. Checking my energy level when cooking at LOTR and trying to right click in Glitch.
I am playing FaceBook games, as the MMO I played died and then with a new one that I tried I could not get connected through the poxy (sorry proxy :p ) server, so I gave up.
Been waiting for Glitch for 10 months now, and still not played yet, just got my invite
Recently I've been playing magika, minecraft and warcraft 3 (it's still my favourite game). I haven't played an MMO in a while, most of them bore me after a while and their communities are generally terrible.
Faunasphere but the game is ending tomorrow. Very sad for our FS player. Lot of us have come over to the Glitch side. I have not tried any other of the MMO games due to lot of fighting and shoot them up games. I think I will like Glitch, all but the keyboard playing. That is a whole new thing to us FS players. I am hoping with my disability I will be able to play a bit with the key board but it is my biggest fear. I already found myself stuck trying to jump up trees to collect items. I must of fell on my butt tons of times.
I was asked to join in a race with a FR friend and my tummy was turning and heart pounding, most thrill I had in yrs.. My mind has a hard time controlling my hands. Both hand do same thing, one hand as the other hand does.. To think I wanted to be a Base player growing up..
any tips on keyboarding would be great. I did print out your keyboard notes. Now If i can just get my right hand not to follow my left that be great!
Thank you
I played Animal Crossing (especially the GC & DS versions) A LOT. Was quite addicted.
I played other console games too : Mario Kart, Zelda, Abe, Crash Bandicoot, Kingdom Hearts, WarioWare, musical games, Lego games...
Then Pet Society on FB, until very recently. Amorphous + and other flash games on Kongregate.
I must be forgetting half of them... but these one already give a very good idea of my tastes in video games. Mostly on console. It's a little frustrating to play with a mouse & keyboard now. I definitely prefer a gamepad.
Console games started with N64 Mario Karts. We were then in the flush of youth and would hold weekly tournaments. Then came family life and the Game Cube. Zelda, Mario World and the other genre of Mario. Progressed through the consoles as the boys got older. I'm a big fan of the DS, my little hideaway. Next will be the DS3D on order.
Love my download games. Big ihog fan and getting into LAF games. Can't wait for the next Zelda release.
You mean there are other games besides FS and Glitch ?!? Who'da thunk it ... but seriously ,,, got thoroughly discombobulated learning how to play a bunch of Zynga games and Ravenwood Fair that folks were always inviting me to when FS first announced it's closure.. the effect of this after 3 days of Glitch and Glitch Itch mode was Farmville: My dog ran away, Frontierville: My crops withered , Ravenwood Fair: The forest took over , Treasure Isle and Cafe World: Over a thousand unanswerable requests :O Oh my .... thinking I am going to be having these problems alot until Glitch comes on full time when I will most likely drop them all cause duh , they suck compared to this ...lol They did keep me sane and my fauna friends at hand for a minute though and for that I am thankful.
@Cupcake: I haven't played for a while... I'm afraid the village will feel very small after wandering in Glitch world. But I'll see if I can catch up. ^^
About FB social games, what brought me to quit is the obligation to publish and share so many things. Free gifts, etc. I ended up not playing at all because I just didn't want to deal with that kind of daily duties.
I played Animal Crossing on GC, DS & Wii, unfortunately the Wii version just didn't work so well for a variety of reasons. My friends couldn't visit/party (we had a lot of parties in Wild World) without the worry of wrecking the grass/snow and leaving a barren desert. Really looking forward to some parties in Glitch!
Checked out some of my grandson's MMO's but none have ever appealed to me, not into violent games.
Played several FB/Zynga games but got frustrated with the continual lag, non-loading, begs etc of most of them. Still playing Frontier while waiting for Glitch to be open.
I don't know how many facebook games I've played, but I'll be down to 3 in a couple months. A bunch of testers play kingdom of loathing. I pretty much ended my hardcore ascending, just 1 left to do for a skill that costs 150 million last I saw. :P
I'm about to dive into Little Big Planet (and LBP2) to hold me over until Glitch gets going. In electronic games, I was a h-u-g-e Jane Jensen fan and I still pine away for Gabriel Knight! I love a good hidden object game, Tiny Wings and (who doesn't love it) Plants vs. Zombies. I need bizarre gaming and I need not to freakin' kill people (or things) in a game. Thanks for that bit, Glitch devs! I am just here to have some quirky fun! (and a p.s. I hope Glitch dips a toe into the waters of UGC! It would be great to invent bits and pieces of the new world!)
I'm all for that MoF, the one thing in FS I wanted most and yet knew I would never get was skinnable blocks, the possibilities would have been endless...
Zookeeper (Microsoft PC game, not online); Guild Wars - ok when you're doing things by yourself or with one or 2 nice friends but if you try to play with people you don't know they can get really nasty if you do something dumb. Now you can have virtual 'heroes' who will do the quests with you so wouldn't have to join a party to do a quest. The graphics are awesome but most of the action is killing things which is pretty negative.
sims 3!!!! cod black ops zombies and capture the flag , used to play pet soceity and petpetpark but i hate tht they want u to use real money alot in that
I haven't gamed for about 2 years now, but Glitch is pulling me back in. I used to play Kingdom of Loathing (I played for about 4 years, even attended a Con). I used to play The Sims, and Animal Crossing (back on the Game Cube for Animal Crossing). Other than that, I sometimes play Rock Band with my family. I've dabbled in a few others, but those were the main ones.
I have gamed since at least 1981. I played many platforms and mystery games and enjoyed "Ultima" until it left the Box for the Web. These days I play a lot of casual games. One of my favorites is "Big Kahuna reef 2: Chain Reaction". It comes with many levels and has many more FREE add-on levels which makes it a great bargain and neverending fun. I also love Hidden Object games and own many of them.
I played "Faunasphere" from the beginning of Beta until it closed on March 15 this year. it was my first MMO and I miss it very much. I never expected to enjoy another game as much but Glitch is very close to that and may top it soon though in a different way.
I also play Animal crossing on DS and the Wii looking forward to the 3D version greatly!!.Also enjoy playing Zelda,Uno and match 3 games on the DS.Have endured and enjoyed some of the Facebook games also but hate all the begging and glitches in those games !
Well I'll be spending a lot of time on Pottermore, which isn't so much a game as a NEW LIFE OMG.
I have pre-registered for Star Wars: TOR.
And I spend time playing my 3DS, and, considering I will be getting 10 free NES games on it next week, including the Legend of Zelda, I imagine I will be spending plenty of time playing that for a while.
I used to play World of Warcraft, I still have Guild Wars, I wish I knew of a good game to play in the meantime, right now, this game is at a stalemate for me, it's basically gather, gather, gather. I haven't yet discovered the purpose. Heaven forbid if I enter a street with another player! My screen locks up and lags me out ... so much for it being a social game LOL.
Anyways ... I like to play MMORPGs ... any good ones to play that no subscription is required?
City of Heroes
Dungeons & Dragons Online
Runescape
Grepolis
Improbable Island
Medievia
World of Warcraft
Diablo II (I need to get it again)
Others, but I don't remember all of them right now :)
...
Gunbound is still alive and thriving. I need to install it again. :)
The only Runescape player here? Been playing for a long time. Was a beta tester for it even. It got bought out by a corp and is overrun with bots now.
@Possums I have the same problem as you. What works the best for me is using the right hand for the arrow keys and left thumb for the space bar. The thumb seems to work independently ok. Then quick switch to the mouse for highlighting and selecting an option. Can't seem to resist to right click tho. *sigh*
I just started playing Twinity, for these off-times, but its pretty confusing so far. It has realistic backgrounds of actual cities: Berlin, London, Miami, New York. A bit of wandering around in Miami, I haven't tried Berlin yet, thats supposed to have the most "sight seeing". You can learn to craft, furniture & clothes, buildings etc. Its horribly laggy for me, but has my curiosity for now.
When I'm not in the mood to play a MMO-type or quest-type game, I would play Sauerbraten or Armagetron Advanced. Both are open-source software, so free to download and play!
If you use Mac OS, and your friend use Windows, both of you can play together. I even once host a small LAN party for Sauerbraten.
Getting a good list here.
Never noticed an bots with Runescape. I also have a friend who started at the beginning and introduced me to the game. They've really been doing a lot with it and it really shows what can be done with Java. In fact I was quite surprised that TS chose Flash just because of that. Java has open source players that are quite stable and not memory hogs.
