Is there an in-game Noticeboard system for player-to-player announcements?

I was reading in the Market Day thread something about signs, but asides from the noticeboards in some apartment blocks I don't think I've seen signs around where players can post announcements. I would LOVE to see one, at least one in every center (where the subway stations are) - so people can advertise things they're selling or services, posts like the one about moving in and finding the previous owner's stuff, group projects and events, that sort of thing. It could be area-specific or worldwide, and would give us Penpersonship people with stacks of paper things to do with our time.

Not sure if this should be on Ideas or General, since it may be a feature I hadn't noticed, but if there isn't bring it on :)

  • Creatrix, it's been suggested numerous times (We'd all love to see it!) but not yet implemented.  The only choices are the notice boards in the apartments and public machine rooms or simply dropping notes on the ground.  I'm sure something will be done about it ... soon.

(For newer players the "soon" is an in-joke.  Stoot is famous for always answering that neat new things are going to be implemented ... soon!)

  • I'm jealous of the people who live in Apartments.  I live in Borem Summon, and I would LOVE a noticeboard outside the Quarter entrance.  Some of us were just talking about how nice it would be to be able to offer each other our services via messages.  I actually found this thread because I was going to post one myself if it hadn't been suggested.

And Creatrix, in the meantime, I've made a group for people in my neighborhood to join so we can talk to each other.  Maybe someone in your area would be up to that, too?

  • I think the only way for players to communicate in neighborhoods like Borem Summon (my home as well) is to drop notes. I see them in some of the other neighborhoods but since we are all trying to frantically learn or relearn skills penpapership may not be high on the priority list yet. Starting a neighborhood group is a good idea, at least if you want to organize a street/neighborhood party or suggest a decorating theme or animal breeding strategy for outside houses it will be a starting point.

Edited to add a request for an invitation to join the Borem Summon's group (ren I friended you and will send you a message in game to remind you)

  • It would be nice to see group noticeboards implemented into group halls, when they are brought back.

  • This is a fantastic idea. This way even the people who don't have homes can see announcements from other players. +1

note: I typed "gnomes" instead of "homes" on accident, then realized that this is also an acceptable viewpoint.

  • There could be an auto-generated newspaper that tells tales of Rook attacks, progress on street-building, spikes in the prices of various commodities...the kind of thing that plugs people into the world and gets them to realize there's a lot of stuff going on.

  • ^ This would be a good idea. Maybe have some public buildings with newspaper presses, and people with Penpersonship II can make them?

  • Noticeboards around town and in residential streets would be fantastic.
An option to make the notes stay up on noticeboards for a few days would be great, as notes tend to disappear 5 minutes after they are put anywhere.
