Effecient use of still?

I wonder if anyone has developed a good strategy for distilling hootch.  I feed it 1 bushel of grain and get 18 hootch.  Can you put a lot in, like 5 bushels and get 18 x 5 hooch?  Thanks in advance for taking the time to reply and share your experience.  Cheers.

  • You can put a maximum of 2 bushels (or 500 grain) in the still at a time. or 500 of any of grain, potato, or corn. The 2 bushels will leave a little bit left, around 6 I think and you will have to add grain, as opposed to bushels in order to refill it back to 500 (one bushel plus loose grain).

  • I have a 28 plot garden and I grow potatoes. Each plot yields 18 potatoes for a total of 504 every 12 hours. I fill 7 stills with 70 potatoes each. Each still yields 35 hooches for a total of 245 every 12 hours. That's how I do it.

  • I don't grow or squeeze anything specifically for hooch, but use  the grain squeezed out of any chicken I happen to pass. I still have excess grain and regularly bathe in the hooch

    I hooch needs 14 grains
    36 hooches needs 504 grain.

So I fill to 500 and the next time I pass I pop 4 in.

It takes 2 mins and 20 secs (RL) per hooch

  • There's no point in distilling hooch unless you need it for potions or cocktails.  Last time I checked, the ingredients are worth more than the hooch they produce.

  • 1 hooch you get 2 favor
14 grain you only get 1 favor
