...and I think I, and others of my kind, deserve a badge for NOT dying after a certain level. I'm sure Hell is a lovely place but I'm avoiding it for now, thanks.
I don't think you should get a badge for not dying. I know lots of people who've never died. I only die because I'm chasing achievements. Otherwise, it's way too easy to not die.
I've only personally met a few folks who haven't died, and no one at my level (32). You get badges for simply walking around in the game, so I don't see why there shouldn't a be "Yay, you aren't a zombie!" badge....
I don't think there should be any badges that some players would literally be unable to achieve (we already have the nigh impossible "Super Awesome Intern" badge that we can't get). The only way I see a not dying badge working is "Avoided Hell for xx days in a row" where xx would likely be 3, 11, 53, 251, 1009.
They offer progressive badges for so many other skills (including dying a lot), I don't see why they couldn't do it as an "XX days and counting" kind of thing!
If you look at the original thread i posted up top, you'll see in there that someone suggested making it based on hours of gameplay you remain alive without dying. So if you *do* die, your clock just gets reset to zero, and you still get an opportunity to get the achievements for living.
I still think it's way easier to die than to not-die, frankly. And it's taken a fair bit of vigilance and paranoia on my part to stay alive. So I heartily support rewarding this special paranoia. Why should the 'clumsies' have all the accolades? Paranoia uber alles!!
