Piggy Redistribution

So I've noticed where I live in Bortola, there aren't so many piggies, but on Groddle Isle, there are tons of piggies.  So I thought about maybe starting a piggy redistribution group.  We could capture piggies from over crowded areas and release them into pigless streets or hatch piggies on lonely streets.
Does anyone else have an interest in attempting this?

  • I would be interested but I haven't learned that skill just yet.....

  • Since pigs can escape when captured, and since you can only capture one pig on any given street every forty days (I think it's forty, but has it changed?) it's probably a lot easier to just make new pigs.  Unfortunately, there's a group whose sole purpose is to make mischief, and one of their favorite activities is pignapping... so it's probably better to wait for them to stop before repopulation is attempted.

  • Huh...or maybe try to "hire" that group to do the redistribution? You may end up with an overflow of pigs in Bortola for a little bit, but it would get the job done?

  • oh bummer...why do piggies need naps anyways?

  • You should consider making new piggies instead of moving them around.

I'm not sure about others but I very much enjoy the areas with a lot of piggies, it means that if I want pork I go all out for it in that one area and find a lot.

  • There is no such thing as "pork" in this game.  Piggies wear "meat" for you to nibble.

  • I've been trying to populate streets in Salatu with new pigs. But early efforts have been less than fruitful. They're usually gone from the same streets within a game day. :\ I'm don't know if people are just taking them or what.

(And yes, I am putting them on streets with trees for them to forage).

  • Have you heard of A.K.A. (Animal Kinship Alliance) group?  I copied this post below from Kookaburra.  What a generous offer!  This might be helpful for your neighborhoods.  ~~

If you want to help improve the piggie population, sign up here and I will send you a piggie egg.
    Rules:
    1. I will send you an egg. You will need to incubate and nurture it to adulthood. That takes things grown in the ground (potatoes and onions are my favorites, but I hear spinach, tomatoes, etc work well too). I think it takes about 5 or 6 feedings for them to grow to adulthood. Please name the piggie.

    2. As payment for the egg, you must commit to petting 25 piggies. I like happy piggies. You may also feed and nibble them, but I am counting the pettings only. (you are on your honor for this)

    3. The piggie should be set to live on a public street with a shortage of pigs. 3 pigs seems ideal to me, but you judge. I do not want to give incentive to the piggie haters out there by over-populating any streets.

    4. Offer only good for a limited time. Allow four to six weeks for delivery (or until I get on line and get the egg mailed to you). Not responsible for eggs broken in transit. Not responsible for actions of piggies after they are set free. Not responsible for silly names.

Salatu is an area where all the residents have pen areas in their back yards. Probably many residents see no need for 'street pigs' because to live there you've gotten past the need to harvest from 'street pigs.' But it's always compelling to have another pig or two in the pen. (no, I am not personally rustling pigs in Salatu) That might explain why there are fewer pigs there than in the bright-shiney Groddle area where lots of newer players tend to congregate.

  • Ill join in on the piggy populating. I did bring some chickens to my street in Agala Axis, but they seem to have disappeared within a few hours. Time to let loose some oinkers! :)
