Game of Crowns is an exciting mini-game within Glitch, with a series of 12 achievements for playing it. The Game of Crowns and Cooperative Game of Crowns group are holding a party together at Sculdent Shill in Groddle Meadow this Tuesday, January 17, from 9pm to midnight Eastern (6pm to 9pm Pacific). If you’ve never played before but are curious, only played a few games, or play every day, this party is for you.
For those who've never played Game of Crowns, it's a fast-paced mini-game of tag, where players run, jump, and climb through an arena to hang onto a Crown for 60 seconds. There's a lot of tactics, strategy, and reflexes involved.
There are also cooperative games, where players agree to passing the crown, sharing time and allowing each player to win games towards the badges.
In addition to regular games and cooperative games, we’ll be running a new variant aimed at players who want to make progress on the achievements but feel frustrated by losing so badly that they feel that they learn nothing. If you want to learn how to play in an environment where they can still get an occasional win, this may be the format for you: cooperative-competitive games, where players play the game normally until someone reaches 50 seconds, and then hand it off to the person who will get the “win” for that round.
From 9pm to 10pm, we’ll be focusing on cooperative Game of Crowns.
From 10pm to 11pm, we’ll be focusing on cooperative-competitive Game of Crowns.
And from 11pm to midnight, we’ll be focusing on regular Game of Crowns.
In conjunction with the Game of Crowns group, I'm working on a series of tutorials, with information and links, to introduce various tactics for the game. Stay tuned over the next few days for some of the first posts!
