As an avid gamer...

I can safely say I don't know >wtf< this "game" is about.  It's hinting at some intriguing things like skill leveling, player housing, and even sandals that could match my Sgt. Peppers jacket.  The writing in general has given me a few chuckles too.

But what's going to keep me coming back here to spend some good downtime and happily toss some $$$ at a nice Indy effort?

I WANT to like this game for some reason.  I just don't know yet WHY I should.  Any posts or "Grande Plan Revealed" that I've missed?  Please paste me a link.

Cheers~

  • I'm the opposite of an avid gamer. Haven't played a game this many hours continuously for.... hmmm... decades. I enjoy the humour, the non-violence (as a change), and even the lack of a main goal.

I do wonder, though, if it (or I) will hit a dead end too soon, because of that.

  • Well, it IS still developing. As an avid gamer with OCD tendencies, I like the fact that there are already so many quests to complete. I do feel the game lacks some extensive diversity in play on rare occassions, but considering the age of the game, it is very advanced for the stage it's at now and I've never seen development move so quickly. I know this game will have something to offer 98% of gamers because I can see the diversity in gameplay expanding, and I'm really excited about that.

  • Swaag, you must be reading my mind, this is exactly how I feel too. I've been here since the first Beta test and I still don't have an answer. I really want to like Glitch because it's so... likeable. I think what keeps me coming back at the moment is being able to influence the development of the game with my ideas (I asked for two subway lines and next test they were in) but I don't know if this will continue to be the case after the release.
I've pretty much hit the point where I've learned all the short skills and everything I'm learning now takes days. I've realized that by mining and selling up to a vendor I can make more currants that I can reasonably spend. I've been to almost every street and housing block. I've done projects and got bored of them. There needs to be something more to keep me going for much longer.
