  • Donate, donate, donate.  When you get icons, Reflect Upon Them.  Rinse, repeat.

I've done most of my leveling by collecting meat, because collecting meat is super fast.  But if you have the time to process the food, or what-have-you, first, you can get more experience from exercising your skills, so you can gain more experience per day that way.

  • Play the game, or, as my father used to tell me, "You gotta just show up."

  • Icons.  I'm at level 48 and reflecting on all of my icons gives me over 7K of XP each game day. You do have to earn some money for tithes.

40 or 50 XP quoins at 20 XP doesn't come close.

Throw all your drops into shrines with EHSP in effect.   If you get musicblocks (gardening, harvesting) then sort them out by type and throw in a stack at a time.

  • Donate a lot, at this point season beans, nibble, donate some more, reflect on your icons, use all the energy they give and ruminate on all them, don't waste your money so use all their options. Sing to butterflies, Visit the crabs everyday and drink crabato juice while you let him listen to your musicblock. Before they nerfed stuff I used to make sauces, proper rice, oaty cakes and donate. But after that I started seasoning beans. The only issue you might find is not having enough resources. But if you do that everygame day you'll level up very quick!

  • Oh, donating using EHSP of course, and make sure you eat 3 purple sno cones a day. And always just make stuff with a smiley and wink mood!

  • A trip through the Ancient Lands for XP quoins can be a nice break from all of that, and still be worth it.  But it's a gamble, because someone may have gone through just before you.

  • +1 on the purple sno cones and the "Crab State of Mind". Meat and Milk are usually good for donating, as are all the metal ingots (plain, tin, copper, molybdenum). Some items are also more favored than others by giants when donating. Alph, for example, really likes Girders. (Found that tidbit out today.)

  • Sorry to butt in with a question but I'm pretty much brand new to the game and I've been seeing a lot of users talking about this reset/ implementation and how they're scrambling to level before it hits. What's this all about?

  • make sure your mood is at your highest!  the amount of xp you earn is directly related to your mood.

Really? Wow. I always thought it was a bit boring that all giants just cared the same 1/10 of the value for all items. Did they actually implement different tastes now??

  • I've been donating the new wooden beams. With EHSP in effect each one is worth 240 favor.

Are you really sure, because I dont think that is true at all. 10 currants of street value = 1 favour point, for any Giant

So a 1500 currant Girder will give you 150 favour (no powder) with any of the shrines

  • EightBitBlonde,

There are some other posts about that.  The devs are shifting the game over to a better system.  You don't really need to bother leveling before anything happens, as it should all equal out.  However, some people find it nice to have a goal.

  • Yea, I'm pretty sure favor works as it always has rather than by Giants' tastes.

  • EightBitBlonde - there is going to be a change from XP to imagination probably by the end of the month.  So folks are trying to level up in the XP system.  As Carl mentioned, there will be a equaling out of the systems, and TS has always been pretty fair about how changes affect players, even in beta...so probably not much to worry about.  At a lower level, just enjoy getting to learn the game, doing the quests, and figuring things out...Welcome and have fun!!!

PS, I've been playing since late Alpha and first Beta, and really have no goal/desire to rush things to level up...just enjoying the journey and taking it as it comes...

  • @ b3achy, I had read the Dev Blog but I was still a little confused. I thought the change was going to reset user's progress if they hadn't gotten to level 60. You guys cleared that up though, thank you very much!

  • 8BB, there is a likely reset of the housing after the imagination switch, so don't get too attached to your decorations, but TS has been uber sensitive about major resets since some players really don't like it.  There is always a remote possibility, but it's highly unlikely there will be a player reset...however, if there was...all players would be reset, not just those that didn't make it to 60...as Carl said, that's just a personal goal for some players to reach.
