not keen on the new material using butts it is icky and a bit ewwwww. i know some people like this sort of thing but i think it is abit over the top i am not offended at all but i would rather use the train
Not keen either, not because of the butts particularly, just didn't find it remotely amusing and I don't like the artwork. It seems over-simplified, like a children's cartoon and doesn't fit with the rest of Ur in any way.
Some people seem to love it, it leaves me cold though and I shall probably avoid it.
I am also not enthused about the simplistic artwork in the new shortcut; it does not fit well with the rest of the beautifully designed Ur. If it had not been announced officially I would have thought it was a hack by someone.
I also think the ass-related theme of it is likely to annoy many users unnecessarily. Couldn't there have been a less offensive way to create another route to connect far-flung areas?
All the seam streets have artwork that differs markedly from the rest of Ur. This just seems like another of them to me. I don't mind the simplistic, cartoonish design at the transfer point, however the dino heads on actual streets could have been designed to fit better, IMO.
Then use the train. Or walk. Or teleport. Some people don't like scraping barnacles because they feel they're killing them; others don't like squeezing chickens because the dialogs make them uncomfortable; I don't like basement seams because they creep me out. Nobody said that to play the game you have to like everything.
I agree about the seam streets Babycat, this artwork style fits them pretty well. However, I think the dinosaurs are very cute. Also this adddition is the art of Keita Takahashi, the creator of the Katamari games. I was actually introduced to glitch because of a friend who was interested because of his contribution, so I think it is great to see some artwork that is noticeably his. When a lot of different people are working on a project like this a lot of different styles will come together.
I think the art fits the silliness of the game pretty well, but I understand that some people don't. They should be pretty easy to avoid if you don't like them, there are thousands of streets in Ur and only 6 dinosaurs.
I know I'll never use the dinosaurs because I Do Not Like the idea of travelling through their guts, but I feel sad that so many people don't like the art. I hope Keita is not upset!
Just please no gut stuff in UN-avoidable places TS!
a), I'm not a guy. b), you, like approximately 25 other people, seem to ASSume that "doesn't care for Shim Shiri and says so" = "uptight fun-hating prude who faints at the sight of a butt joke", whereas multiple people including me have stated that we object far less to the concept than to the execution.
I'm not and never have been lobbying for the removal of The Plane of Infinite Butts. I don't think most people who don't care for it are either. I *am* getting tired of the constant BAW YOU HAVE NO SENSE OF HUMORRR, hence my (mostly-facetious) suggestion.
You like it and that's fine. I don't, and that's also fine.
I haven't been playing as often right now but fellow Glitchen, can we at least agree that this is one topic too many? As it is I'm on the middle end: I think the idea's cute and the new name is both crude and clever- it's just that it really does look out of place and it'd be great if there was a way to make the dinosaurs blend in better.
"You like it and that's fine. I don't, and that's also fine."
Also, Sarabanda I think the dinosaurs look great! Especially the one in the bog region it really fits the colors there well and are super cute. So that is also something about it people disagree on. Guess this one doesn't appeal to everyone.
Also, Annuska I agree with you completely about people who are opposed not being prudes, etc. I think this comes from a few comments people have made along the lines of "I was going to subscribe, but now that one little thing that isn't my favorite came out I am leaving the game forever" (I am exaggerating, and also not trying to make fun of people who feel this way, just illustrating how it comes off) which I think is just as annoying as assuming people are prudes.
I think we need to agree to disagree on this one, and yes there are enough topics.
Horakely, exaggeration does not contribute usefully to the discussion. Most businesses are very interested in hearing when they have made a mistake big enough to cost them customers if they repeat it.
