Another player planted those seeds...IN MY GARDEN!

If there's a garden on your homestreet and somebody plants there, shouldn't you be able to ignore the 60-second snag rule? It is your home street, after all.

  • Technically, it's a community garden.

  • Technically, it's a garden connected to my character that sends me in-game notices when crops are ready for harvest.

The crops should either be immediately harvestable by me, or else I should not be notified when they are ready.  No community gardens notify me when someone else plants seeds there and the crops are ready to harvest.

  • I agree the notifications should be turned off. I never know if it's crops I want to harvest or crops in my front yard.

  • Or, maybe the notifications should be delayed until the garden becomes harvestable by the street owner.  That might be nice!

Someone plants seeds in my garden, the crops become ready for them to harvest, so maybe they get a notice or not, then if the crops are still there after 60 seconds THEN I get the notice!  A small but substantial perk for owning the street and placing the garden.

  • As far as I know, you are never notified when seeds that you have planted are ready for harvest, unless you have planted them in your own garden plots.

I would be strongly against notification about seeds I had planted in someone else's yard, or even community gardens.  I would be flooded with notices and would lose the benefit of knowing when my crops, in my gardens, were ready.

  • Crops on "your" street should be immediately harvestable unless the person who planted them is actually on the street. Then the usual delay should apply.

  • On second thought, nvm. I really couldn't care less. If a one minute wait is truly just too much for you to bear, keep complaining and I'm sure the devs will give you what ya want. This discussion has been rehashed so many times I could get high on the resin alone.

  • That's what the ideas forum is for, OceanState.

  • I don't mind the delay, but I would love it if the notifications could be turned off for the street gardens. I don't mind leaving them out for others to use, but the little pop-ups telling me that my crops are ready gets annoying. Especially if I'm growing something in the backyard and I don't know if the notification is for me or the stuff someone else planted on my street.

  • I personally think that it should only notify you when it's you who planted those things.

  • What about if there was a separate notification for front yard and back yard?  That way, you would know whether the notice is really relevant to you, or is just about crops in your community garden.

  • " but the little pop-ups telling me that my crops are ready gets annoying."

The subject of this thread as well as the above detail is on our to-do list for a re-think.

  • ooh! why not have a little icon eg a silvertongue flower spring up at the top of the screen in the corner with a little ping? and make it so that it won't disappear unless the player clicks it? that way it's not constantly going ping ping ping OR getting in the way of game playing the way the popup does sometimes (like when you're cooking or shopping)

  • that's the community spirit lol - I'd say no to the idea but it's still a bonus to you should another player plant crops on your home street.  What's 60 seconds to wait really?

That being said, if they do knock in on the head (the 60 second for the planter) then it should apply to the home street owner also - after all it is an open street and garden.
