Me too, had an awesome one with someone yesterday. Our mutual suckage at platform jumping was at a perfect equilibrium, thus we were perfectly matched. It was great fun.
We need a maze-y kind of race that also includes ju-ju's.
The Hogtied Piggy race is the first test of a general new mechanic for "collide with stuff and change state". We still have some kinks to work out, and we still have to make it work nicely with player-player collisions (instead of player-items) but it is getting done. And we have a huge (and rapidly growing) list of awesome group-level games we'll be able to make once it is all in. I am more excited about this (and a few other related design/mechanic changes) than anything I have been about anything else we've worked on in the last six months :)
Right now you don't get the ticket *back*, but you still have the race available via the quest log so you can still start it again later. (We will probably/hopefully move these out of the quest framework entirely so that the tickets are for particular races and you can offer the race directly, without accepting the quest, etc.)
@Stoot, your enthusiasm and excitement are wonderful incentives to keep coming back :)
It's great to see you and all the devs in game and your friendliness, and just being available for input. whether good or bad, is admirable, really.
I hope you will continue to communicate with us after we are live, and I just want to thank you and all Tiny Speck for everything you do. We're not perfect, but time and again Tiny Speck takes the ideas, complaints, and comments and makes things better! There a very few games out there that have the imagination of Glitch, very few! The future is going to be a lot of fun, and a little angst I'm sure !
I loved the race tickets and the races and the whole thing... *overcome with happy*
I was also very happy to beat a couple of devs at the races :D Though you both did get me back!
I could have used that helmet in the Race Around the World it was a blast, I collided with another player on every jump plus we crashed all the way to the bottom. No bruises, broken bones or ripped clothing. lol Can't wait for more of the same.
i am so excited that stoot is so excited about all the new possibilities opened by this new game mechanic and can't wait to visit the gladiator (glitchiator?) arena across the deserts of nostalgia :)
