Stoot provided a link in the general forum to the one in Kottima Cast, and he explained that eventually they would appear in other dead-end streets. I was wondering whether that included the Ancestral Lands -- and now I know. Thanks for sharing!
FACT: Visiting Stones are now placed on most dead-end streets all over Ur.
FACT: Anyone with a butler and a few cultivated items can "opt in" to get visitors from them.
FACT: If you choose to visit a street from it, you'll be taken to a Home Street randomly selected from those who have signed up for visits, drawn just from the lowest quartile of streets when ordered by the number of visitors (that just means the Stones send you to visit people who have the fewest visitors).
FACT: We'll probably make this a thing you can do from the website too (like an "I'm feeling lucky!" button or something).
funtastic! very fun:)
do the stones work globally? do we get visitors that go to the stone where we asked or we can get visitors from all the stones over Ur? and the other way too: can we randomly visit, no matter what stone was asked for visitors? (am i making sense??:)) thank you:)
Ahhhhh ... I haven't been able to play for more than a few minutes all week, and even then mostly hung around the house. Can I get some idea of what this is?
I think it'd also be kind of cool to have a stone that sends visitors to our streets BACK OUT to random streets. Some sort of optional, purchaseable lawn ornament similar in style to the visitor stone.
Sooo, say you stumble upon a visitor stone, and it sends you to some glitch's place. When you're done, if you're still in the mood for adventure, you can pop back out to some random corner of Ur, too!
Completely randomized Glitching.
I don't know why it would be cool, but it would be cool.
WHY!? Why Big Lick? Why remove a historic sparkly that brought so many together, only to replace it with a stone? Save Big Lick! Preserve our heritage! www.glitch.com/snaps/PHFEKE...
Awesome idea; I was sorta hping something along these lines might be placed on the dead ends. That, or some other reason to go there that can't be found on main streets.
Find your favorite visiting stone.
Visit a random street!
Poke around, do stuff, leave a package and note... (and get credit for visiting a new home street towards the Gregarious Gunther badge!)
Return to world (which will take you right next to the visiting stone you last used).
Lather, rinse, repeat... and no energy lost!
Kipple: we have something like that planned, except not sending you to random streets … more like permanent teleportation points to the street owner's favorite places around Ur.
@Stoot -- What I would love to see is a button that takes you to the street that you have not visited in the longest. I get stuck visiting the same ten or so streets a day, there's streets I hit for the completest badges and then never returned to. The other day I hit a street I hadn't been to in 281 days and found a ghost on it. :) With the world as large as it is I think it would be rad to have an easier way to find places you might have forgotten about.
Very nice feature! I went to a street I had never been to before and from there on and on and on! I had a great tour of unseen streets and finished up among my Friends!
Am I imagining that at some point, they were placed but not implemented? I'm new, so I had no idea they weren't there before, but I thought I tried clicking on them and there was no blue glow. Or was I just up too late? (Or both?)
Once you opt in to a visiting stone, your street is part of the universe from which destinations are selected for all stones, so there's no need (and no ability) to opt in to more than one at a time.
Turns out the rules have been tweaked and it now works like this:
• divide the pool of people who have opted into four groups (quartiles) ranked by the number of visitors they've gotten over the trailing week, and …
• 60% of the random visits go to quartile with the fewest visitors, 20% to those in the second quartile, 15% to Q3 and 5% to Q4
