Not so much a "bug" as a potential quest problem.

I was doing the "It Takes Two" the other day, and apparently, I was digging so quickly that the other person was having serious trouble getting the "Help Dig" option in time.  We managed to make that work exactly once.  This seems to be because I wound up getting enough of the digging/gardening skills that it made the process too fast by the time I actually made time for the quest--I was able to help *her* dig easily enough.  I'm not sure if there's an easy solution--maybe a plus-two-second window for "helpers?"

  • I'm having the same problem. This quest is hard to time correctly.

  • This is by far the most difficult quest I've faced so far. Besides the timing issue brought up by Hazmat, there just aren't enough dirt piles in Ur. When you do find one, it's usually over-dug. It's tough enough to drag someone around with you to complete the quest, but to make them stand around and wait for a dirt pile to "fill up" is simply too much to ask. I think this quest should be made much easier or removed entirely.

    Dear Glitch,
I was on quest to have 11 lumps of Loam for 30 min.... and was hunting to find that darn dirt pile(s)!  NOTHING!  And people do not want to help.   Then I decide to try to buy one lump of Loam to see if it count... but nope.  so, l let it go because it waste my time. You HAVE to add more dirt of piles in this world THEN I will resume this quest otherwise I will let it hang there forever

  • Both the It Takes Two and Something-something Loam quests are difficult now that there are more people playing. I can not finish the Loam quest. The other day, I did it once, got up to 6 loams in that 30 min. The second time, I got up to 9 loams rather quickly, then spent nearly the other half of the time looking for a pile that hadn't been dug. Third try, I got absolutely nothing. Not one loam. Not only did it not used to be so hard to find dirt piles for the loam, but it seemed--from my experience--you were almost guaranteed to find loam in at least half of the piles you did dig.

  • We're looking into some solutions for this. It's a good problem to have, but it is a problem for sure. Thanks for the report!

  • A month and a half later...

I don't think you actually need to wait for the Help Dig option? Have the other person ready to hit Dig, and as long as s/he clicks it after you start, I'm pretty sure it counts as helping?

Or is it really that fast? D:

  • What you describe does indeed count as helping, Ellisande :)

  • I successfully completed the loam in 30 minutes quest in Kajuu recently.  I had SA III at the time.
