I dont see the invite feature, and they just recently updated it to 1000 invites -- but are people able to just jump right in now? Because alot of people on the fb page want invites and idk if I need to invite them or if they can just play
Invites are usually available to send out when the test is open.
"No, it is just that the game is not open right now and it is better for new players to get their invite when the game is open. So, when it opens up again, invites will be re-enabled. Posted 31 days ago by stoot barfield"
Thanks for posting that link Liridona; I was trying to dig that up for another thread and Twitter wasn't letting me see my own tweets for a while because I had actually asked why: (my reply tweet) Interesting. Just curious: Why? I don't particularly care, but it would be interesting to know the reason. Thanks:) And here was the response: (playglitch's tweet) Because we want to grow things at a reasonable and measured pace, and not overwhelm the world or the community with a deluge.
Why are invites only available during tests now? I used to send them out (when we had only 3) when the test was closed, its much easier IMO. Weird change.
Zach, I think to not only control the intake better (esp with the current greeter programme) but also, sending them out when the game is closed could possibly result in more wasted invites when others are about and waiting for the game to open. JMO :)
That reminds me, still didn't get the email notification that the game was opening last time, wonder if that's still being looked into.
I hope it doesn't stay an invite only thing. I've been trying to invite a friend of mine to the game for months now but something's going haywire with the FB connect. He applied way back in Alpha and he still hasn't been able to get in, even with me constantly facebook connecting. It's strange, and not being invite only is probably the only way he'll get to play.
I gotcha, Zach! I think it'd be great if we each had a lot of invites to give out after it went out of Beta....and maybe we could help the people we invited personally......or maybe get some kind of incentive for inviting people in. I don't know, just rambling! :)
Owlet, you should put in a help ticket for that, I've been able to invite one person...if you're not able to get someone an invite, that's a bug and should be fixed....
Hey, Owlet, I had a friend with similar issue and there seems to be some sort of weirdness with making sure you have Facebook all connected up properly. Have your buddy check glitch.com/fb because that will actually let him/her know whether connected up correctly and fix it if they're not. And definitely put in a help ticket; I did that as well and it got sorted out very fast by a dev. I do hope that we'll be able someday to just invite directly via email address, though; that would simplify things a LOT.
@Rascalmom,
f
I was able to get a friend into the last test without either of us being on Facebook.
Step One:
Have your friend sign up for an invite from the Glitch blog page.
Step Two:
Pay attention to the announcements while the game is running that have to do with Queue Jumping being open.
Step Three:
Let your friend know (or they can subscribe to the tweets themselves) that Queue Jumping is available.
I used the queue jumping invite thing initially, what I did was set the playglitch and isglitchopen twitter accounts to text me, so when they tweeted about the queue being open I got a text :D
