I was chatting with one of the staff members, and I found out that they are planning on making an area set in space! What would you people like to see in Glich's "space zone?"
Well the first ideas that come to mind are a moon-like planet with Moon Cheese Trees, Moon-only ore and gems, Low-Gravity. But I always thought East/West Spice were like the outer space zones. A space station might be cool with like a space-atrium to grow stuff in and space apartments.
Crazy! Glitch! In SPACE!
I hope this game turns out good!
You could buy the Moon from a
floating log in the woods!
In the woods!
This game is weird, oh my God! www.youtube.com/watch?v=fHE...
Instead of patches, the Space Zone could have special domed bio-enclosures that you can grow any kind of plant in, including egg plants. The plants that grow in the domes produce more fruit and don't need to be petted or watered, but to keep the plant alive, players will have to put carbon dioxide the enclosure's air tank so the plant doesn't suffocate in the cold vacuum of space. You could probably make carbon dioxide with the gassifier.
Also, while I'm on the topic of breathing, I wonder if Glitches need to breathe. If so, than do they breathe oxygen or some kind of red-green-blue-shiny compound?
A space zone would be great! Would love to see both interior space station type environments (think 2001) as well as exterior space environments (perhaps you need a space suit to navigate exterior space environments).
I'd also think you could introduce robots (think Wall-E) into this environment. Perhaps this becomes a skill too. Building, maintaining robots!
There really is a lot you can do with a space zone! Love it!
@Thindos, there are some aspects of the bio-enclosure that I like, but I have a slightly different take on it...
In the same way that there are projects for building new streets that require resource gathering, etc. What if you had to to Terraform the "streets/zones" using some of the mechanics you described above, build a bio-enclosure, introduce plants, carbon dioxide, etc.?
Perhaps Terraforming is a part of the skill tree too.
Once terraformed they become inhabitable ("Glitchable"). Travel to and from these new zones via space ships or even better, PERSONAL ROCKETS!
No offense, but dude, this is Glitch, not Spore. I personally feel that the carbon dioxide bio-enclosure thing is a tad more "Glitch-y" than terraforming the whole street. Also, you probably thought that I meant that there would one big enclosure that you could grow several plants in. I was actually thinking that every plant could have its own personal dome. I might post a drawing of what I had in mind later.
No offense, but dude, i think it is a bit early in development and a little bit arrogant for anyone to be the arbiter of what is "Glitch-y" and what isn't.
+1 for Pigs in Space, and if that's not possible maybe Space Fish?
I'd love comet rides, circular space stations a la 2001 Space Oddyssey and moons made of green cheese.
Here's that image of the tree enclosure that I mentioned earlier. i55.tinypic.com/2md4105.jpg
Also, I figured that there could be a skill that allows you to survive in space without losing energy that could be unlocked by spending an emblem of Friendly. "Vacuum Resistance," perhaps?
