Glitch wikis

Hi everyone! Do you know of an alternative to http://www.glitch-strategy.com/wiki? I love how comprehensive that one is, but it seems like it's down half the time when I go to check something. Thanks!

  • Really? Cause every time I check it's working. Maybe your checking when its high traffic time.

  • Hmmm, that's odd. Like, right now it's not loading at all for me, that's what prompted me to post the topic. XD Think it could be something on my end?

  • Eep, being down doesn't sound good! :( Sometimes the site can act a bit funny, but try pressing Cmd+Shift+R (or equivalent) to do a hard refresh...

  • The wiki seems to load correctly for me most of the time, but occasionally, it may load slowly... when that happens, usually a refresh works.

  • I wish there were a few more Glitch info sites because competition always drives a site to improve, and theres a lot that just isn't covered on that one wiki. It almost seems like certain details have been deemed to be 'spoilers' and for that reason omitted. That said I know the response is "if you want more you should do it yourself." But it surprises me there aren't more good third party sites. Part of the difficulty is how hard it is to search the web for "game glitch" without getting back pages and pages about glitches in other games.

  • As far as I've found, all the "spoilers" are available on that wiki.

It's just that you have to click on the link to actually see them.  They aren't displayed on the first page, so that the wiki can be used both by those who don't want to see the spoilers and those who do.

That wiki has been evolving since early Alpha testing.  It's hard to start from scratch and create anything that is as comprehensive.  But there's nothing stopping anyone from doing so.  If you and some friends would like to give it a go, you can start tonight.

  • The point about a Wiki is that you create it yourself. If you spot an omission then everybody will love you if you go in and add the information or correct the error.

It's true that since the game went live 24/7 it's sometimes fallen a bit behind on new streets, new features or changes - I think that's because people are too busy playing... the wiki used to get updated a lot during the downtime between tests.

But that just means it's more important than ever for people who care about the wiki to dedicate just a tiny fraction of their "Glitch time" to wiki work (I know I'm guilty here too). I'd love to see the wiki become a repository of all knowledge about Glitch.

I agree it would be cool to see more third party Glitch related sites but, in my opinion, the absolute worst thing that could happen would be for someone to try & start a second wiki - there's only a certain amount of wiki writing people to go around & we seem to be short already.
