Ecurnomics is going offline!!!

It seems Kali Mocho is powering off  http://ecurnomics.com/ -- this is my favorite site to see real prices / value of items.

Kali, what do you need to keep the site up? Would you be interested in transferring the database & code? Perhaps someone could host it for you? Or get you hooked up to an ad network? (e.g. http://agent86ix.github.com/glitch/ )

  • There's a great alternative here
    http://startlingfecundity.com/auction/item

dopiaza's site is little known, but has, imo, better design and is a better thought out site overall.

  • Hi Everyone, and thanks for the support and good wishes.

Looking around at Glitch Remote, Startling Fecundity et al., I figured that Ecurnomics was pretty much redundant. It seems silly to duplicate effort when we just want the data, right? Is there something Ecurnomics does that is not replicated elsewhere?

All the same, it's a lovely feeling to know that people actually use it, and I really appreciate the contact and the offers of help.

  • NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can't stand how complicated the Glitch Remote auction feature is and Startling Fecundity is the bane of glitch existence. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE don't take it away! I love it so!

There are plenty of redundant apps and that's the BEAUTY OF IT!

ETA: I don't mean to hate on GR or SF, but for auction pricing I prefer Ecurnomics by far.

  • I prefer the format of Ecurnomics to the other auction-tracking sites, even though I use Glitch Remote for other things.

  • @Kali, I also STRONGLY prefer Ecurnomics to the alternatives. It is simple, elegant and intuitive. Please let us know how we can support your work. Thank you so much!

  • Me too!!! Ecurnomics is my choice by far! I would be willing to help financially to keep it going. How can we help?

  • I just realized that we can go to the bottom of Kali's profile page and gift him a couple of months (or more) of Glitch subscription.  I love his site and I am happy to contribute to it.

  • <swoon>

Thanks everyone. I really had no idea that anyone felt so positive about the site.

I really appreciate all the offers of help. The positive feedback is more than enough to keep me going though, and I'm entirely happy to keep it running if it's useful to you. Love in = Love out :)

  • OMG I'm too late. Miss Bobbit bought me a subscription! You are too too sweet :)

  • Kali, THE best auction tracker, bar none. I've been using it since it went up and use it almost every day. I even use it for simple stuff like looking up the tool vendor price. It's up anyway, might as well use it. :-) I've prolly made close to 100K currants over the last couple weeks just sniping auctions. My only wish is that it did categories, but picky picky.

  • My gift to Kali was very small and very short. I hope others who use and love his site will step up to the plate and extend his subscription.

I mean good grief, one month of tin is only $5! That's like buying somebody a cup of coffee, for pete's sake. If someone built you a beautiful website like Ecurnomics you would buy them a cup of coffee, wouldn't you?

  • So happy! Thank god! And to clarify (since someone has already asked about it) I DO NOT think that Startling Fecundity is the bane of glitch existence AT ALL. I love the site but as far as Auction tool preference goes I much prefer Ecurnomics! So glad that it's going to continue!

  • Hey Kali this is super neat you keeping this online^^
I'm thinking about buying some upgraded furniture in the future
Would it be possible to track those as well?

ETA: ha, forget it looks like they don't display the upgrade in the api :\
