Polluted patch and mutant trees

This can be considered the counter-part to the "ancient tree" idea.

If the trees on a patch is killed by poison repeatedly in a certain period of time, there will be a chance that the patch became polluted. Any seeding in this polluted patch will have a chance to grow a mutant tree.
When you harvest the mutant tree, the result is unpredictable - sometimes it gives you jellisacs while sometimes beans. The mutant tree might have limited lifespan; but it sure can satisfy everybody's need - with many surprises. :D

  • +!- that's a really interesting idea. I could see this being done purposefully just to see what happens, and I can't say I would disagree :)

  • I think this is great!

I think that every now and then a tree attacked by the Rook could also go mutant after being revived.

I don't know if this specific implementation would be good for game balance, but I do like the idea of cumulative poisonings having some sort of lasting effect.

perhaps it can be done by adding a rare but significant chance for a tree to go mutant during poisoning / antidote / fertilidust / revival.

serves as unexpected outcomes of botany activities...... Hmm, should we make the mutant trees monstrous and not-so-friendly?
