Vendor prices, did I miss a memo?

So, it seems that post-housing reset that vendors are charging a lot more, and paying a lot less.  I didn't have a spreadsheet or anything before hand, but I just went to buy some bags and noticed a 5-10% increase in what I thought they used to cost.

Why were vendor prices raised?

  • There was actually a post about this before the housing reset.  They're trying to encourage more inter-player trading, to ween us away from vendors in time.

  • The split between vendor buy price and vendor sell price was increased a while back (well before housing reset) and announced at the time.  I think it's a combination of wanting people to rely on trading with each other more and vendors less, and wanting to make automated auction-sniping less lucrative (by making it less likely that things are on auction for less than vendors will pay for them).

  • Yeah, but none of us can make things like bags, can we?
