Easy to miss automated text

It's kind of easy to miss automated text messages such as those coming from your rock... there could be an audio or visual cue every time the message changes so that I don't hit OK twice and skip over something.

Also perhaps there could be a way to go back to read a message you have skipped past.

  • +1 very useful. The sometimes-awkward layered menus and keyboard commands means that it can be really easy to skip past what the rock says sometimes.

  • I was about to start another topic on a similar vein.

My suggestion was a diary, or logbook of some sort. It would be really interesting to tie the date system into the log system. It would log various events that show up in the chat - and perhaps go away after a set amount of time. Like you would have access to the last X number of days.
And perhaps be able to "bookmark" certain events...or "highlight" them so they don't leave your notebook.

When goals are reached, it's sometimes really hard to tell what actually happened - like what items I got, or recipes I learned. Sometimes the rock tells me, and other goals he doesn't. Sometimes it shows up on the right-hand side as notifications, or sometimes the chat, or both. I haven't figured out the rhyme or reason behind that.
In fact, there have been at least 2 times I remember where the notification to the right listed the goal being achieved, but not what I got from it...but the chat window listed that information. The rock didn't say anything, so I had to go back through the chat window to figure out what happened. But sometimes that doesn't happen - the notification disappears, and I'm not sure what I got because the chat window doesn't display it.

Having a permanent record of this may help, but I'm sure there are many ways to deal with it.
