Quest requirements

Can anyone shed any light on what the requirements are for the various quests? Are they level-based, skill-based, random, all/none of the above?

I ask because I've never come across a lot of the quests which seem to get discussed regularly in global and on the forums (e.g. Rook museum, empty a peat bog, plant 3 bean trees, etc.), and I'm already level 19.

It's possible that all of those are skill-based and I just don't have them yet, but I would suggest that any known pre-reqs for the quests should be added to the wiki pages to make it easier for people to find and acquire them.

Any thoughts/comments?

  • A lot of them depend on what skills you have, and some are also location or achievement triggered.

  • Not all Skills have associated Quests.  There are many Achievements that are not triggered by anything but are still fun to do.  Click on the Encyclopedia Link at the Top and then click on Achievements.  Most of these require skills but some do not so no matter what level you are, you might find some Achievements you can do.

  • Most quests are unlocked after learning new skills, however some seem to be triggered by special achievements like reaching a certain skill level. Have a look at the wiki: www.glitch-strategy.com/wik...

  • The Rook Museum one (It's Educational) I think requires you to explore x amount of streets first so if that is the case than your level would not affect it. The wiki http://www.glitch-strategy.com/wiki/It%27s_Educational only has a link to Youtube so as you said is quite worthless in its info but the player who has the quest is much higher than 19.

Empty a peat bog would be this one I'm guessing - http://www.glitch-strategy.com/wiki/Peter_out_Peat. (The only other related quest I can think of requires to get 11 loom in 5 minutes which is triggered by a skill.)  I'm not sure what triggers that one, I'm level 29 and haven't gotten it yet, but it sounds like the harvest 10 different trees in one game day or mine x amount of stone in x time, etc.  In those cases I think I randomly got those.

http://www.glitch-strategy.com/wiki/The_Unbearable_Lightness_of_Bean requires you gain Soil Appreciation IV first.

My suggestion is just start exploring and see as much of Glitch as possible, aside from the fun of doing so you'll probably trigger new quests that haven't shown so far.

  • The Ghost quest is also triggered by in-game activity and is not related to your levels or skill choices.

  • I believe that the "It's Educational" quest is offered after you EITHER reach level 20 OR learn Martial Imagination. You will receive that quest after you achieve either one of those goals.

Does anyone remember where they were when the got the Ghost quest? I want to go ghost hunting with my girlfriend, but she doesn't have the quest yet.

  • I got the Rook museum quest at 19. Also, even though the person doing it in the video is above level 19, doesn't mean that they didn't get it at 19 and put it off. That said, I'm not sure what triggers it, though I thought it was level that triggered it, not number of streets you wandered (but I have no idea how many I traveled before I got it). I do not have Martial Imagination.

I think the peat bog quest is triggered by a skill.

ETA: To trigger the Ghost quest, you have to go into Room 23 (I think that's the one).

  • According to www.glitch-strategy.com, the quest trigger is 300 streets visited for the Ghost quest.

  • You don't have to go into Room 23 to trigger the Ghost quest.

  • I still haven't gotten the rook museum one at 23, I think. Doesn't sound familiar.

  • I finished the "It's Educational" quest, now how do I get "Prove your rook fighting mettle"?

  • I think Prove your Rook Fighting Mettle is not offered at this time. And the Ghost hunting quest is after you visit 300 streets. The Room 23 quest is the one were you have to get to the top of the tower to meet the female ghost (different then the ghost hunting quest).
