it's the little stuff that makes this game delightful

I really appreciate the devs attention to detail in the user experience. When I sing to my butterflies it's in the same key as my yard music, creating delightful harmony for that fraction of a second. Nice, TS, very nice.

  • The other day I was mining in Larceny Ladder when a flapping chicken dropped out of nowhere from the sky above me, trailing squawks as fell right down the center of the canyon, fighting hopelessly against gravity and succumbing to the depths below.
That image will linger in my 'treasured moments of Glitch' memory file for ever and ever. That and the hungry sliding piggies of the Highlands. It is the little things that make this game delightful.

  • I find it hilarious when the itty bitty feathers go flying when a chicken squawks and takes flight.

I love it when my hair flops around as I move/jump, and my bunny slippers' ears move when I walk around.

  • The Cat ears are a continuous delight for me as are the emotes from the gorilla mask.  When I find nothing else to enjoy for a bit, I amuse myself endlessly with these seemingly small but clever animations.

  • Finding the little things that go together to get you a bonus or a badge are also endearing - drinking crabato juice before playing a musicbox to make the crab happy; playing metal music to the sloths with your metal making machine; etc.  I'm wondering how many of these little widgets we're still missing.

I also love the 'odd' things on the menus - activating broccoli, licking apples, poking cheese, etc.

  • I honestly love the way my ponytail flicks when I turn my head to check over my shoulder. <3

  • The cat ears, I love those.  Especially the way they lie-down when I go AFK.

Also my trainers with lights, soooo childish but I love them! I sometimes amuse myself  by running around somewhere dark, just to see them light up!

  • I love the pigtails.  I jump so much more now just to see them swishing about.

  • Me too regarding pigtails. Oh and since Soupie showed me how to do it properly, I love leaping into the air, striking a pose and freezing. So much fun and it makes for brilliant photos too. Couple that with flying pigtails and my 4 ears: 2 cats and 2 Vulcan-elven hybrid, I'm in heaven. Lol. Thanks TS you rock immensely awesomely.

  • gotta log back in now so I can lick apples and activate broccoli which I  had no idea about!

    Thanks!!

I like when I rock back and forth on my feet and my arms swing.  I do that in RL too.

  • I was playing the other day and my son was like "Is that pig pooping on the ground?" I explained what they were for and clicked the plop menu to show him. He wanted me to try each interaction. We got the biggest giggle from tasting them.

  • Love how the crab's eyes bobble sometimes when he looks at you.

  • From my first day in Glitch to now (and I'm sure forever more) I utterly adore the way the piggies wiggle and smile when you pet them.
I don't think I could ever get tired of it.
It just makes me smile :)

I asked long ago for my thanks to be passed on to the person behind that little bit of joy :)
    Sweetest game animation ever!

  • Chickens have a lot of soul, way more than I ever suspected, and they keep surprising me. For example, look what I stumbled across this morning.

  • It's cute how the tool vendor taps his foot in impatience when he waits for you to sell something.
And have you looked at the verbs for crazy salts?

  • I went ahead and licked apples and activated broccoli...wheee!  Then, I clicked on everything in my bags.  I caressed a banana...several times!

And, now, I've got to log back in just to read the verbs for crazy salts.

    @xombiekitty
Me too.  those little happy piggie gestures are exactly how my little dog used to look at me.  Probably why I name so many of them after him!  It actually makes me feel good to pet them and to make the trees happy which in turn makes the little piggies happy.

    happy

  • I agree about the piggies.  I also never tire of it and, yes, that is how my dog looked at me and he wiggled like that too - precious memories!

  • What?! They made sure the butterfly-singing would always be in tune? OMGiant I love you TS
I love how the octopus hat jiggles ^_^

  • The tool noises! So many of them are just brilliant. I think the construction tool is my favorite, with the tincturing kit a close second. Relatedly, the visual design of both the construction tool and the tinkertool are fabulous.

  • I too love the piggies! and the rainbows everywhere! and pigtails-YAY for pigtails!

  • I also love that the noises made by the Cauldron and Tincture Kit are also music.

  • I dropped a packet of krazy salts on a table. It made such a lovely little flipping motion in response to gravity that I had to pick it up and drop it again. I thought - that is one of the touches that makes Glitch a continuing delight.

  • I love the big eyed stare of chicks. Blink blink.

And I like the emotes we can do. Just don't see those often enough. I like to make faces at everyone on the subway :)

  • The little wing-flapping "wave" chicks do is also pretty great. One of my newbie friends IMed me yesterday to ask if she could keep a chick around indefinitely because they're too cute to give up. ^_^

  • I love the small details related to bureaucracy, like having to wait even though there are a dozen creatures there to attend you, and needing to answer pointless stuff just for the sake of bureaucracy.

It made me smile from the inside.

  • Small detail that made me smile, whilst mousing over some piggies to see the hearts so i knew which I still needed to pet a little knife and fork in a red edged white circle appeared over the head of one showing me he was all nibbled out and needed feeding.

  • There is a very short moment during the second half of a jump when you close your eyes. Have you noticed that?
