Loading.......................................................

Dear TS,

So, I already said it before: I think it would be good to have a small program, special browser, whatever, that we could install in our computers and reduce the loading periods etc.

At the moment I am using a slower connection than the one I used before. That means less information passing per second from my computer into your servers and vice-versa.

About RAM usages in Glitch there's the thing we already know...

The GPU might help a bit the things but it won't solve the problem. Not everyone has graphic card neither a fast connection.

I would say give the option to players to install or not one program in their computers. I would install in mine one if that would reduce the RAM usage and would improve the loading times. For those who prefer not to install anything just keep the "normal" method as we have been using until now.

Thanks!

  • If this is feasible, this makes sense to me. :D

  • You mean keeping Glitch running in a browser tab without running low on mood/energy?

  • No Janitch, that is the saving mode. It exists to save you energy and RAM while you do other things and have glitch open in a different tab at the same time. That is recent and quite useful for when you stop playing Glitch. But I meant other thing, for when you're actually playing it.

I meant one program - only - for glitch, such one "optimized" kind of browser only to be playing this game or.............. something else, like many other games have... you know, such as: World Of Warcraft, Diablo, Second Life, etc. Those have that program that you can download for free and install in your computer, which purpose is to make the things work easier.
And, nobody would complain if both options would/could be available: with or without.

  • A dedicated Glitch game client... wouldn't work. Every time the game gets reloaded for updates? That means the game client as it exists now has changed. Think of how many times those have happened. Each time would represent a new time you'd have to download the game client, if a dedicated software program existed for it. Not to mention, TS would then have to invest time, money, and effort into maintaining both (furthermore, to my knowledge, a "dedicated client" would basically be an Adobe AIR app, which I don't think offers any real performance benefit).

  • @Justin, Second Life, for example has often updates on its client.
Diablo 3, I haven't yet played it but I know that it aslo had one client in its beta.

ps: I've been playing this for more than one year. So about effort and money, all here is - since a minor change to a big one as it was with the iMG. The GPU is also a big change.
Anyway the point it's to have more players with different connections and computers (and their confort). This can only be good for the servers, not having to dump so much information at the same time.
