Much better though - although when the game is on I can imagine those pages will multiply in number again making it harder to find something specific.
It would be nice to be able to return to the last page you were using rather than being directed back to the 'all auctions' homepage. It is frustrating when you are searching through 20+ pages, stop to buy something, then need to work out how far down the list you'd got. The categories should hopefully help, but a 'return to the last place you were searching in e.g. drinks or musicblocks, would be a great assist!
Thanks for the improvements though. Much appreciated.
I'd suggest separating Food Ingredients and Cooked Items. That way if you're looking for an ingredient, you don't have to wade through pages of prepared meals and vice versa.
Trying to think if that would make sense to the average new player... both would be cool.
Also... anyone else want some sort of menu work-through to go from 'you don't have that ingredient' to the auctions?
So... the categories are now set up to be consistent with those on beta.glitch.com/items and the plan is to keep them that way (consistency == good!)
"Storage" was in there briefly because I didn't filter it out when I updated everything. So, no, there are no plans to allow bag-auctions at this time - sorry!
There are also some further auction changes under development which, I hope, will answer some of the needs people are talking about here (in particular, finding auctions for particular items you need).
Travinara: the link-missing-ingredients-to-auctions idea is really nice. I'll see what it would take to make that happen, but it shouldn't be too hard.
ooooo hitherto magic! Dunno how many times you've quietly made life easier for us in the background :D
I dearly love the 'make the ingredient' work-through, and will settle for just keeping that one if it gets too complicated. Ideally, it would appear alongside the 'make' option, or when the make option is not viable because you don't have the base components / skill / equipment. Want to get really fancy about it, and you could have it link to the auctions to both the component and the item (i.e. both cherries and oranges).... but that's a pretty intensive set up.... a quick fix would be to add a link to the auctions at the bottom of one of the larger menus. The bottom of the various recipes screen for the various machines might provide the access point for both searching for auctions - and getting the stuff you just made put up on auction :)
Hitherto, thank you... it looks so much better. The only category I can think of adding at the moment would be "Gems," since they're such popular items to auction.
it's a bit circuitous, but you can get to the auction of an ingredient from the cooking menu now. well not *now* cause the game's not open, but yeah. all ingredients have the little info 'i' displayed in the cooking menu, and ingredients you don't have are always at the top of the list, so it's fairly easy to get to an auction listing by clicking through via the info link of whatever ingredient you want to look for from a recipe.
Suggested Prices and "Going Rate" on drinks got a bit of a bump it seems ... Flaming Humbabas were being suggested to sell for 168 each and Earthshakers at 152.
Curious to see if that is just recalculations (well, finally some dynamics) or if this is driven by other in game changes with vendor pricing.
Also, Emblems Category? Should that have been nixed along with Storage?
