has anyone been able to get Glitch to run on a smartphone? please advise

I am cell phone shopping , here in the USA , and was wondering has any glitchen out there managed to get glitch game to run on their cell phone ?
(i have my desktop PC at home -but glitch on a cell would totally rock!)
I tested a HTC Rezound today , forums worked, and I could enter the world (slowly) . I was able to water a garden plot, and move around, but then when i clicked on my milk collector -it just kinda crashed. To be fair, I do not think that the Rezound was running the newest version of Flash .....
I know the Droid 4 that I wanted to test today , forums worked, but game itself generated a message when i attempted to enter the world that said something about updating the flash (but I wasnt sure that was allowable to the store so I did not ) and I could not in fact get it to load me into the world. sigh.
Any ideas out there on cell phones running Glitch ? all help is appreciated . ;D
Also _anyone who has tested a phone only to have it fail to get you in world -then please let me know also : )
ETA_ updated above with details -sorry i was a bit vague .. O-O

  • I have seen some people able to load it, but not actually run it on a 'droid.

  • I've tried it on a Galaxy S and a Galaxy Tab. One was running Android 2.2 and the other Android 2.3.  Neither worked, even with the highest version of Flash I could install on each.  Wisdom from TS is that it probably won't work in any case.

  • I've gotten it to work on WebOS 3.0.2, though that was on a tablet. Laggy, but fine other than that. Anybody know offhand what the Pre3 runs?

  • I'm on an iPhone- the native browser, Safari, doesn't support flash but you can download flash browser apps- separate browsers from Safari, not add-ons. I play Glitch from a browser app called Photon. It works pretty well, but it's Lag Laggy L. McLaggerson, and hard to maneuver. Jumping over something- a ledge, say- takes a few tries. It's pretty useful though, if I can't get to a computer. Other flash browsers might be faster- I've only ever tried Photon. Not willing to pay for something else just to try it, and Photon specifically said it supports games, while some are just for flash videos. However, Puffin says videos only and I've read about someone who used it for Glitch. Forums somewhere. So. That was long, hope it helped.

  • Thank you everyone for the info- I am hopeful more glitches will be on this weekend and that someone might have had more success ...

  • The iOS answer is screen scraper / remote desktop -- I suspect the same will end up being the answer for Android / WM etc. Good ones are usually $5 or so though.

  • thursday you're getting mixed up.... andriod does support flash, where as Iphones, or ipads do not support flash at all.

On an andriod tablet i've gotten the game to load, but i never tried playing it... so i'm not too sure!

  • 'Kay, my other post is really long. Here's the short version.
You can play Glitch on iPhone if you get a flash browser app like Photon. It works. The game runs. It's laggy.

  • I've been able to get it to work in Photon on an iPad. It's laggy, and after a while the keyboard interface stops working (browser keyboard *and* Bluetooth), but it's nice to be able to scratch the Glitch itch.

  • Yes you can.

However, it is not worth it due to screen size. Makes it difficult to do things and not fun.

It has been discussed many times. Perhaps this could be added to a FAQ somewhere.

  • TS will not add it to an FAQ as they don't currently plan to support it on smartphones. But someone should think about some more technical pages in the wiki.

Has anyone tried playing around with zoom? Difficult, I suppose, because chat is so difficult. Mmm.

  • The TeamViewer app for Android is a remote desktop app that works really well and is free (non-commercial use etc etc). I haven't tried it for Glitch but should, in theory, allow that sort of remote-play.

  • Yes!  I have and use Splashtop Remote Desktop Streamer to stream Glitch running on my work computer (a Windows machine behind a complicated firewall) flawlessly.  It's pretty cheap as an iOS app and very functional, although mostly I only use it to get from point A to point B while on the go, to check my icons or fill up a remote feeder. I don't really use it for farming - the need to click multiple times and the small screen space makes this a bit unwieldy.

Here's a link to the remote server [totally free]: www.splashtop.com/streamer/...

And the iOS client [$4.99]: itunes.apple.com/us/app/spl...

In the screenshots, you can see somenoe playing World of Warcraft on their iPhone.  Of course, this is a streaming app, not an HTML solution, which would require Flash and gobble up your battery life like crazy.  I can confirm this works, and works VERY well, much better than solutions like VNC. It's near-perfect on my iPad, and a very good substitute on the iPhone.  but of course nothing beats a fast browser (Firefox) running Flash natively.

Neat software, let me know if you like it!
