I had a bear puppet sort of like what he had, that was my favorite thing in my earlier years. So...I loved that. But the other puppets used to give me nightmares, for some reason. So I stuck with sesame street XD
Mr Rogers? Are you joking? Omg the only thing I liked about Mr Rogers is when Eddy Murphy did a parody of him on Saturday Night Live. My kids drove me crazy with that awful kiddy show.
I used to to think Mr. Roger was gay but later found out he was married with kids and had studied to be a minister.
I am with you Jia-pop. Much preferred Sesame Street! My favorite was Cookie Monster!
I love Mister Rogers. I love that he was interested in so many things. He was just so passionate about everything.
Things I learned:
1. Being curious about things is good, it's good to be interested in things
2. Cardigans, especially zip-up ones, are the best
3. Playing make-believe is fun.
4. Being cool is dumb, being passionate about things is what makes you matter.
5. Be friendly to all the people you meet.
6. Learn all the things and share them with your friends.
7. Singing is a fun things to do, I still sing Mister Rogers songs for people.
I think Mister Rogers has a lot in common with Glitch, so it's ironic that many of you have voiced your displeasure with his show.
I LOVE MISTER ROGERS. I always will, God rest his soul. I grew up watching him and Pooh and oddly enough, I never really liked Sesame Street - Elmo creeped me out BIG TIME. Still does <_<. I preferred animated shows like Little Bear and sutff, but Mr. Rogers was the exception. My dad kinda bailed out on me when I was five and I always looked at Mr. Rogers like a father-figure of sorts. That was the one show, and Pooh, that I watched regularly.
I loved when he would take tours of the Post Office, or factories, and showed how things were made. I was a very curious child and I'm still a very curious person (I love watching documentaries and learning about things I didn't know before). The puppet shows were always entertaining, and honestly, I couldn't say a bad thing about the guy. Even when he recorded his last show he didn't make a big to-do about it: just said "So long" as always and walked out the door.
Mr. Rogers defined most of my childhood. So, yeah. XD
It's such a good feeling to know you're alive.
It's such a happy feeling
You're growing inside.
And when you wake up ready to say
I think I'll make a snappy new day!
It's such a good feeling.
A very good feeling.
A feeling you know that we're friends.
And I'll be back.
When the day is new.
And I'll have more ideas for you.
And you'll have things you want to talk about.
I will too.
I liked when he sang and changed his shoes. The puppets were silly. The trolley was kinda cool. I wish Mr. Rogers was still alive. He was my TV grandpa. haha
That one time they went to see how crayons were made! That was the best!
i used to run home right after school to watch mr. rogers.
i learned that if i got out right at the bell and got in the left lane i could get to the corner before the light changed and catch fred before he had his shoes changed.
if it sounds like i was older than the target demographic, i never cared for the show when i was very young.
but the day anwar sadat was assassinated i was home sick from school and not well enough to get up to change the channel and they took that footage of the shooting and they aired it -once- completely unedited and when i finally got the strength to get up and put somthing else on i went from channel to channel and everything was all violence or politics or fun at someone else's expense and then there was fred.
gentle and good and i was so happy to see him that i cried.
The best episode of Mr Rogers is the ones that were edited out. Like the one skit he was showing how to put up a tent and the thing wouldn't cooperate, he finally got mad and kicked it and cursed...yes, he said 'Gosh darn it' in an angry huff.
