Questions about Badges

In my updates, I am constantly seeing the badges that my contacts get. I wonder then, "Do I have that badge?"

When you click on a badge, maybe there could be an indication that, "You earned this badge on WHATEVER date."

Also, ever consider when we click on a badge that we could have a gauge to see how far we have to go to get that particular badge?

  • Hey John these are great things and you should put it on the ideas forum:) The progress bar for badges has been asked for so many times too! I think it's something that could definitely come i the future

  • If you go into the Encyclopedia and click on "Achievements", next to the picture of the badge there will be a check mark if you have it.

  • Nice idea. The only problem is that for badges received in the past, it's pretty likely (although not impossible) that TS never stored the "add" date, simply using a boolean (yes or no, or more accurately true/false) to indicate their presence, which would preclude marking older badges with a date flag. If they're not already marked in the database with a creation date, then the database will be growing in size to accommodate such an addition.

  • @ Woochi: When you click on your profile on "and xxx others..." next to your 5 latest achievements you get to a page showing all of them which when moused over give the exact date of earning them

  • Oh I don't really care about the "add" date exactly. They do have when the last time I was in a particular area down to the second, so I just assumed they'd throw that in for good measure.

I understand you can see whether you have a badge in the encyclopedia - it's either lit up or dimmed... but when you open a page and read about the badge because of your timeline, it just would be more convenient.

I also like the idea of a progress bar - to see how far off from the badge you are, so you can work on it.

  • TomC uses this data nicely on Glitchium too - you can view all your achievements laid out on a timeline, showing which/how many badges you got on a certain day.

To get there, go to  http://glitchium.com/ > 'Search and Scan' > enter your name > 'View Achievements'.

  • Thanks WebWeaver. I wasn't aware. Woochi can be kinda clueless sometimes...Seems they *do note the time of achievement after all!
