  • This might be an OT thread. But... what's The Mighty Boosh?

Edit: Oh. British comedy. That explains.

  • The Beatles. "Piggies."

Everywhere there's lots of piggies, living piggy lives...

Was listening to it the other day, and Glitch is the first thing that popped to mind.

  • i had never seen lord of the rings... ok, i know... but there are some scenes in there that totally reminded me of glitch, to the point if i wondered if the devs were inspired by them. i only saw part of it- but when all the birds came swooping in, it seemed like the rook, and then there was part that was totally firebogs-esqu. don't ask me which lotr it was, i have no idea. my boyfriend flips channels.

  • @greenkozi - Never watched Lord of the Rings? Poor girl. The extended version is AMAZING if you can find it. They do take a few liberties that I wasn't pleased with from the original text I wasn't very pleased with because they left out vital information about what happened near the end. So watch the movies THEN read the books so they annoyance factor doesn't detract from your enjoyment of the movie.

  • Finally, someone said Monty Python...to me the egg plants are quite Monty Python-like (as are the Bubble trees)...and yes, that place to collect coins has the a Monty Python foot but drawn more in the style of Peter Max.

  • yay lexi, i totally see the monty python! i'm gonna have to read the magic kingdom book i guess - i assume it's about applying video game incentives to real life?

  • Laurali, the IT crowd isn't such a side note, as it's already been pointed out that the magic rock bears an uncanny resemblance to Moss: http://beta.glitch.com/forum/general/4049/#reply-31920

  • OhmyGiants!!!! I just watched "The Internet" from the IT Crowd. It was so funny!! Loved it. Meanwhile, I totally agree with whomever noted that the Rock looks like a character from The IT Crowd. Wish I could find that thread again...

    Wait... I found it, didn't I?! LMAO!!!!

  • Man, the Rock TOTALLY looks like Moss. How come I haven't noticed it before?
Posted 16 months ago by Lexi Smart Subscriber! | Permalink
  • It's that whole side part thing...it's on the opposite side from Moss' part. lol... it sort of threw you off Lexi.  :D

  • LOL, CoffeSnob--I never noticed it before, but that is certainly true.

  • Embarrassingly enough, until very recently, you could have told me the internet was a box and you could break it, and I would have believed you.

Mom, you're making it go back in!!

  • The rock needs a fro and it would be Moss
Posted 16 months ago by Laurali Subscriber! | Permalink
  • That's too funny Laurali! My son and I laughed so hard at that episode. We had tears in our eyes.

  • I've got it!

    Big Dumb Face

So after Wes Borland decided he'd had enough of Limp Bizkit, he and some friends (including his brother) started a band that was somewhere between Obituary and Ween. The one album their record label coughed up the dough to produce is called Duke Lion Fights the Terror and it is hilarious.

But everything about it, the original art done by Wes, the lyrics, the silly voices he modulated, will remind you of Glitch. The album is 10 years old now but it totally holds up because it's just so weird.
