Mourning and Celebrating

When one finds oneself in Hell One and someone still in Ur sees your grave, and then decides to mourn or celebrate you...  Well, you need a bit of photographic memory.

A "message" style alert (bottom right corner, black box with a button in it) appears at the same time as when you are given your Wine of the Dead Ticket.  So far so good, it makes it nice and obvious that it has occurred and you can now safely squish grapes or use a Get out of Hell Free Card.  But...

What if you want to thank the mourner or celebrator?  You have to try to remember the name, and you best be friends with them already for additional usefulness.  So how could this super easily be fixed you ask?

Well, just send (either all or just these?) the black message box text into global chat.  This allows the name of the nice glitch to be a convenient link and gives a little persistence to the name of the glitch that helped you.  Now that I can see exactly who helped me out for longer than the black message box, I can thank them or perhaps send them something or go visit their street and get them some iMG by doing things, or any number of other things made super easy with a simple name link in global chat.  :)

Anyone else ever had this idea?  Anyone else like this idea?

  • Oh man, this is pretty much the most social thing I've ever recommended in the ideas forum.  Guess no one else has had this thought or agrees.  Thanks for the plus one Marla.  :)

  • Totally +1!

I think I have seen this suggested before. If it wasn't, it should have been. I need this especially if I'm on a no-no binge at the end of game day - so many people to thank, so little time, so little screen space if I let the black boxes pile up.

  • A simple name link in the global chat would be fine, we could also just remember the glitchens name and thank them manually.

  • yes, I have just resorted to saying "thanks" when I return to the world and wondering if the person who mourned me is even still there because I usually forget to look in time to see who it was
