Some history and some hope

For so many people this is second time around.

When the first MMO by the Tiny Speck team (then Ludicorp) closed (The Game Neverending, or GNE) we all felt exactly like this - as if part of our lives had been cut away. GNE underwent a weird metamorphosis and became Flickr; some of us followed on and by an equally weird metamorphosis became photographers, made new friends and a whole new part of our lives took shape.

There was always a vague feeling that one day GNE might come back, so imagine how excited we were when Glitch came along. Glitch has been like GNE plus.

So what will happen next? Just now, punchdrunk and tearful with today's news, I don't have that vague feeling that Glitch will come back, but who knows? Maybe a few years down the line (when we're all living in moon pods and driving hover cars) Glitch or something like it can come back - maybe we can host it communally each on a small corner of our cloudphones, or whatever.

What I do know is that Tiny Speck tried and tried hard to make something wonderful work, and for that we're all thankful. And please keep me on the mailing list Stewart and Eric, because I know that the next thing you do will probably be something equally amazing that I'll want to be a part of.

So, thanks for the imagination and the currants, and I'll see you in the wonderful future we'll all soon be inhabiting.

Best wishes to everybody (and apologies to those I've annoyed the hell out of on global),
