I'm going to think of my servant as a slave and make it call me Lady Mathilda, feed it only the slops the pigs won't even eat and whip it if it misbehaves ;)
Awesome blog! Excited to see fun changes! May the fun be there and that imaginative spark be there for a long, long time. The only fear i have is will there be so much awesomeness that i forget to do real life things. Wait. That already happens. :-D
Oh yes. Can't wait. Is there an as-of-yet-decided limit to how many floors we'll be able to have? Will we be able to frame/hang snapshots in our houses? Will the not-in-game crafting be like the current not-in-game learning, where it happens while we're gone, but we have to come back in to switch to the next skill/task? Or will we be able to set a queue of tasks?
I'm confused. When you talk of "servants," in what manner in particular? As in robots, glitch-like beings, or just...well, things? But I still believe that this new system will be to our major advantage. :)
i'm back to get my glitch on and this new stuff is creamy dreamy! i love redesigning my new house more than i love playing in wardrobe and i just realized that i can wear stuff that matches my living room! i can't breathe this rocks so hard. love it love it love it love it love it.
Wowee zowee. Sound terrif. Full disclosure--I didn't read all the entries so have undoubtedly missed details and will later post clueless questions that someone will kindly answer patiently without noting it was all already explained in something I didn't read. Thanks TS for making a game that is super fun and neat-oh. Not to mention Khoul Bheens.
Wow. Hope reinvigorated. Great work so far. I need to play around with the new housing. Been busy with life and haven't really played the game at all. But I have also been playing other games in down time.
But yeah, stop worrying about the rock... it wasn't that big of a deal in the first place. Chill out people. Out with the old in with the new I always say.
I can't wait for the updates, but just one question.
If we are using attic storage or have harder to get things like icons in our house, will they all be refreshed when you refresh the furniture? I just want to know if i should move out all my stuff before the update
*dances about and waves arms wildly*
Yahoo!!!!
Monkey butler!! I want a monkey butler!!
Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!
Am I the only one hoping the "rock in the ground by your house" will be the one greeting our visitors and handing out sage advice (much as gnomes do today in front of many homes) or maybe even be the mail-rock! and package receiving-rock!? Would that not be cool beans (or Khoul Bheens, as it were)
I too am worried about the stuff in my attic. Instead of waiting for a response which may never come, I think I'll spend some time in-world taking the stuff down.. =/
Well....I was going to worry about the Attic!!...But then I worried about worrying, now i'm just worryied that my worrying will be worrysom... Sooooo.....I've decided to not worry at all. :)
The stuff in your attic will not be okay because many things could happen to them, such as:
• A Tii'st uprising condemning materialism, in which angry devotees having determined your goods far exceed necessity, ransack your Home Street and remove everything in your attic.
• An unusual weather pattern develops in near the epicenter of Grumbla, a volcano eruption ensues, engulfing all forestation and flora within a 10,000 kilometer radius, in which your attic unfortunately lies within said area of catastrophe.
• An iMG button malfunctions when Bosen clicks on it, leading to an angry band of Juju's who attack his profile (the aftermath of that), making him spill coffee which lands on a butterfly that releases a stream of air, changing the atmospheric pressure of Ur by 1.5 GigaPascals, causing some, if not all, of your attic and house structure to implode, leaving behind only the Metal Rock on your home street.
• Some foxes run amok, due to oversight in the improper expansion of your house's yard into a nature reserve, leading to the scent of delicious chickens in your yard invoking the ecological food chain phenomenon. Because of the lack of a door separating your yard from the home's interior, the foxes run up all your furniture and take everything from your attic, just to exact spontaneous revenge and prove the point that animals are smarter than Glitchens who have underestimated the power of other co-existing organisms in the ecosystem.
The more I think about it, the more I am not sure I like the idea of an offline "crafting" helper.
Crafting is part of the game, and we get XP and spend energy to do it. And it's also a small bit of strategy involved. I just have a feeling that this helper may end up taking away part of that game that really does take some planning to do.
Also, this helper - do we get XP for crafting while offline? (or imagination?) How does that work? (I hope the answer is no, btw :>)
I"m looking forward to the craftybot, especially if it can run my blockmaker. I would rather be out exploring and harvesting than standing next to a blockmaker making one block, collecting one block, making one block, collecting one block, making one b...
A volcano would be perfect if it had a nice platform up top where we could occasionally sacrifice nubile female glitchen to the sound of native drums. Drums would be cool too.
I don't know if this has already been answered, but here's a question: if the system is going to change from purchased houses to personal homes, what happens to our old houses? Do we get the full price in refund? Just the selling price? Or will those homes still exist, and have some other purpose, or be changed into something else?
Would it be in bad form to ask for them to hurry up and release it since I have a stick in my hand so I can hit it?...um, er, yea, I guess it would...sulks into corner so I can pretend to be patient...
I think I read there won't be any mailboxes in our home streets, they are working on some other system of mail delivery. Or maybe the magic rock will hold our mail, which would be freaking awesome!
I think either your magic rock or your greeter or your servant/robot/animal etc... (if you haven't read that's what people are calling the servant) will but I can't remember which :)
If the rock no longer learns skills for us, can he take out his book and glasses when he's bored and read to entertain himself? I'm picturing him being startled when I approach him and snapping out of book land. Please oh please? It'll be fun to have the rock in game somewhere, like in the ground by my house, instead of as part of the interface around the game, but I hope he still enjoys reading.
