Need to visit a location before TP'ing??

DO we now need to visit a location before Teleporting there?? As far as I can remember this is new... Is it a bug or a new change??

  • I don't think so, otherwise how can you reach Axis Denyde?

  • Same with me too.

  • Is there something that tells you you have to visit a place before TPing there?

  • I was just in-game a little while ago, tried to TP to Dodol Dwells, but my TP option was greyed out, 'cause I hadn't been there yet...never noticed this before, but doesn't mean it hasn't always been like that....

  • It hasn't been like that. This seems odd to me :\

  • Do not like. Do not like. Do not like. Why is this so? It's a bit irritating. I think we lived before when we could TP wherever we wanted. :/

  • I agree!
    Please Change!

  • Our TP rights have been taken away.
This will be a grim and very dark day!
Now we can't explore wherever we want.
This change in me will forever haunt.

  • I haven't tried TPing somewhere that isn't on my saved points in the last couple of days but as far as I know, as long as you have tokens or Teleportation IV AND energy, you can TP anywhere on the map.

  • It depends.  You have to go there to create a script.  You don't need to go there to TP using the Map unless there is a change.  I used the map 2 or 3 times today.   I haven't played in 3 hours, maybe something has changed?

  • You do have a visit a place in order to save the location for TP'ing without using map teleports

  • Hmm! This is a change (not a bug) … but this is just part of the change. It probably should not have been released yet (I'll check into that). I bet some people won't like it, but that's ok, because it is better :)

The whole change has three parts: (1) the maps will clearly distinguish streets you have visited before from streets you have never been to, (2) you will have to visit a street before being able to map teleport there (but you can still be summoned there; the game/quests can still move you there; and TP scripts will still work) and (3) the XP (soon: imagination) reward for exploring new places will be increased quite a bit.

  • Thanks stoot for the explanation! It makes sense now! At least you can still TP to a street close and walk there yourself! Thanks again!

  • OK! And I finished checking into it and it seems like this was not s'posed to go out yet so we'll roll it back till the whole package is ready early next week.

  • For those of us who've already explored the entire world of Ur, do we get the imagination bump retroactively? ;)

  • I just thought of an advantage to this new arrangement. Yesterday, I teleported to the personal street of a Glitch who was not my friend. I did it by finding a way to pull up their home street in the encyclopedia (using my keen detective skills) and using the teleport button there. If I had been there to raid, they would have had no idea. Instead, I grinned and walked away. I don't take more than I leave in home streets, but there you go. Implications and all.

  • Hmmm, whole package...EARLY next week...thanks for the tip stoot!!! :)  I feel we are zeroing in on R2's probable release...

  • The change makes sense to me, rationally... if you haven't seen a place you might imagine it inaccurately. I imagine this would be very problematic in a world MADE of imagination.
