TreasURebags = Glitchian Geocaching

A month ago I started thinking of ideas to "give back" to all the awesome Glitchians out there.  I wanted to create something that could be creative and entertaining as well as instilling some generosity.  As I sat and meditated I received an inspiration from the Giants.  I wasn't exactly sure how to do it but I started.  About three weeks went past and lots of notes were made as I tried to figure out how it might work.  Now, it's done and I'm willing to let everyone know about it!

I want to invite everyone over to my new group TreasURebag Rovers.  It's focus is a project I created where you can do a Glitchian version of geocaching!  I ran a small test over the weekend and I decided to go ahead and make the group (and the webpage for it) fully public.

I know it may not be for everyone but if it sounds interesting to you come on over and join us in the group or check out the webpage!

(( PS - I went ahead and dropped a bag just for this post. More will be coming up soon as well as information as to how other folks can start dropping their own. ))

  • I geocache IRL. It's a very unusual hobby if you were to meet me, lol;  I live in Wyoming and the population of geocache enthusiasts is very high here, along with excellent spots to put your caches. It never occured to me to try this in Glitch, especially in some of the really interesting new areas like Kelvanna where you could hide something very well! Definitley signing up to your group, and putting together a cache, give it a go.  How clever~!

  • just like every parking lot and guardrail does not demand a geocache, every life activity does not require some version of geocaching.

  • Flask, I'm sure you feel the same way about scavenger hunts, ghost hunts, auctions and coffee houses. *nods solemnly*  It must be very rough to think like that.  It's ok.  Don't let the Juju's and Rooks get you down.

  • nope, i love all those things, and i also geocache fairly heavily.

    i used to think there needed to be geocaching in everything around me. don't worry, it's a phase. it'll pass.

    i have reached the point at which i no longer thing every roadside turnout and box store dumpster needs a cache, and i no longer believe every other activity in my life requires a geocaching equivalent.

    i also love mountain biking, but i don't ride mine in the house.

    it must be very rough for you to make assumptions about other people's state of mind.
