Gamepad Support?

Don't know how big of a stretch this one is, but will Glitch support gamepads in the future? I've been using Xpadder to assign my gamepad keys, and it works great. I just need to use the mouse to sort my inventory and for certain dialogues since the arrow keys won't work. But besides that minor nuisance, gamepad is definetly my preferred choice for playing.

  • I do this too! Xpadder works great :D I find it much easier to maneuver around using a gamepad than it is to use the keyboard. However like the above poster stated certain actions still require the use of a mouse. If anyone has a PC compatible gamepad I highly suggest trying it.

  • FlirtyvonSexenhaven wrote a tutorial for programming a gamepad using JoytoKey to be used with Glitch. There's even the ability to program the mouse as well. Excepting chat, I rarely ever use anything but the gamepad at the computer. :)

We may also write a further tutorial for how to do this with a PS3 controller, which we just set up using MotioninJoy+JoytoKey.

  • Yeah, I have my gamepad set up so the right stick moves the mouse, and clicking it in is the same as a left click. Takes some getting used to, but rewarding once you do.

  • I'm using a Madcatz Fightpad with JoytoKey, and it's pretty boss. I've got my buttons set for maximum speed at petting and nibbling piggies (the key shortcuts for those activities, so I don't accidentally hit "rename" when I run up on a pig), a button for Enter, and a button for Esc/Jump (they don't seem to have overlap the way I play the game, so always hitting them at the same time ain't no thang).

For crafting and dealing with vendors/auctions, keyboard&mouse are probably the way to go, but for running around the world and harvesting, video game controllers are way rad. And this setup makes me feel ever so nimble when playing Game of Crowns.
