  • Ooh jeez, I wouldn't have put it up if I'd seen Aedus'!  I had looked for it before and couldn't find it.  Sorry!  And yeah, it is a lot of stuff... I don't think I'll be making much of them for myself, but if anyone wants to bring me ingredients, I'll happily combine them for you.

  • Wow, that is alot of essences. Sure won't be in a hurry to complete P3.

  • i've got few essences that have been lying around for ages, so im making some potions to whizz through gardening occasionally, it's a JOY that it gets done just like that

  • These look really expensive. Are they even going to be worth it…?

  • For me, no, because I don't have enough garden plots to warrant using any of this, and I'm not usually in a hurry to grow anything... but if you have a yard full of large gardens, you do end up saving a lot on guano if you fertilize all of the plots at once.  The other garden potions seem fairly wasteful to me, unless you're in a crashing hurry and/or really dislike the process of gardening.  The giant favor potion seems fun, and very expensive, so I think I'll stick to finding favor quoins.  :)

  • but if you have a yard full of large gardens, you do end up saving a lot on guano if you fertilize all of the plots at once. .

It does only work for one garden, though... so a max of 15 plots per dose (still saving 5 per dose, so not inconsequential)

    I'm not a plopper though :)

  • eep, don't think any of those potions are worth using in relation to the expense of making

  • Yeah, per potion that works out to saving 25 guano (if you're the sort of person that would have guano'd anyway). That's worth at least 3,000c at current prices. That is just about the current SDB price for the essences (and krazy, which is 1500c all by itself) used to make the potion.

So, if you were going to guano anyway (at current prices, I'm pretty sure that doesn't make sense), dung-kicker makes a lot of sense for you to make. The cost balances out, and the time savings are significant.

Watch out for this: If you're by a garden that doesn't have seeds, and pour dung-kicker, it WILL go to the nearest garden with seeds, even if that's a four-patch small garden with sprouts that are already 85% done.

  • Zooo -- I think it's going to end up that Super-Hoe and Soak-All will be the ones people use. At current prices, Super-Hoe adds 48c per plot. That's probably too much for all but the most serious yellow farmers. However, I think the price for Super-Hoe is going to eventually stabilize closer to 1.5 x list price, and then Super-Hoe's only going to add 18c / plot. I think more people will be willing to pay that not to have to hoe. And soak-all is in the same range, but you don't have to use it every time...

I started out as a real sceptic of these potions. But super-hoe and soak-all are converting me, assuming the prices come down. And given how much activity I see on the herb routes lately, I'm fairly sure that's where we're headed.

  • Drat!  The rumors were not true.  I just tried the dung-kicker drops, and, as shhexy said, they only work on one garden at a time (the crops adjacent to the herb plots remained unfertilized).  Also, each dose is just one guano application -- in order to fully speed up growth, you need two doses -- so you are basically turning 50 guano into 75 guano with the help of four essences and five krazy salts.

    Gardening robots, please?  :D
