Map Ideas

From what I heard on the help chat last night, the map has improved from before, but I have a couple suggestions about things that I think would be nice to have.

1. Some way of designating whether an area has been visited or not.
Perhaps un-visited streets would be greyed out, or perhaps not even be visible on the map until you reach them, or some mix of the two. For example, when you first visit a street, that street becomes like the normal street view, and the streets that connect that you haven't visited yet will show up greyed-out on the map. When you go to the next greyed-out street, new connecting streets show up greyed-out and the street you're on turns normal.

2. Some indication of what things you've seen on a particular street.
For example, once you've passed by the Shrine to Pot and the Produce Vendor, those things show up on the map as colored dots you can hover over, and see what they are if you forget later.

3. Residential areas show up as little blobs/circles off of the main streets on the map (like a little round cul-de-sac). Possibly they could indicate how many houses are for sale in that area.

4. The ability to zoom out and see the whole world, or to zoom in and see the whole street in a little more detail than in the tiny street map.

  • I like the idea of streets appearing on the map as you visit them. Then, when you are first born in Glitch, it's like the map is unwritten until you imagine it into place.

  • If the map were to start out blank, I'd still like to see signposts or something on the "known streets" on the map, so I can know that backtracking to an earlier rabbit trail will be fruitful.
