Milking butterflies with the same name counts as milking 1 butterfly.

Dunno if this is a bug or a function.

So I decided to do the "milk x butterflies in one game day" quest and wondered why the counter never incremented even though I've milked 11 of them. Turns out, "different" meant having different names. Which was a bummer, cause all 11 that I had milked are named after me.

  • Well, we have a unique identifiers for each NPC, apart from a name given by a player in the game. I wanted to try this just to verify, so I got a rabble of butterflies together gave them all the same name- and was able to get the master milker badge quest completed (7 butterflies). Note, you can milk a butterfly twice in the same game day- I suppose there might be a chance you milked 5 or 6 of them twice.

  • Hmm..maybe. Those butterflies dont stay still so I might have lost track of whom I've milked.

  • I'm pretty sure I had the same problem. I think I milked about 15 butterflies until I had 10 that counted.
It is damn hard to keep track of which ones you've milked when there are a few in one area, but even when there were only 2 and I re-milked both repeatedly I still only got 1 for the quest.
I ended up with bottles and bottles of butterly milk. Which I ain't complainin' about.
