Super double jump?

So I was running around jumping for no reason, when all of a sudden, I unexpectedly jumped super high! After a few minutes of experimenting, I found that if I timed my jumping just right, so that I began the 2nd jump right when I touched down from the first, the 2nd jump would go super high.

I couldn't find any forum discussions on this. Was this always a feature and I just had never heard of it? Or is it new to me because of some skill I recently researched? Or is this a feature that just went in recently? Or what?

  • Super jump allows me to get to certain places faster. Most notably, I no longer require spinach to reach the top right corner in Ajiboo Hood in Pollokoo. It's not high enough for the top left corner in Zigni Zags though. With spinach, it's like blasting off into space, allowing me to reach the top of tall areas like Kohanger Hang very fast.

The only problem with it is how well the mechanic works when moving over certain terrain. The mechanic works perfectly when moving uphill or standing still, works most of the time when traveling on level terrain, but works erratically when walking on bumpy terrain, and almost never works at all when moving downhill.

    Edit: Changed second paragraph.
