  • Hi Mudge, I've been playing on FreeRealms and BigFish games their both free.

  • Can you tell us more about them?

For myself, I might play with runescape a bit more. It's an mmorpg that's playable for free (though you get extra stuff if you subscribe), it does have fighting but you don't have to do those quests, there's also a large crafting aspect to the game. Unfortunately I'm having a hard time with the moving around aspect of the game (point and click rather than using your keys). Anyway, I'm just a newbie on there, still figuring it out. It does have lots and lots of tasks (tutorial type stuff) and quests (storyline stuff).

  • I'm probably going to be doing some organizing and such around my house. I've inherited some stuff that I need to start making room for so my house isn't depressingly messy.

I may pop onto WoW or LotRO a little to say hi to people during some of my downtime. My mum will be around this weekend as well, so I'll spend time with her and my dad (maybe helping her get ready for a garage sale). Maybe there will be some sewing and reading involved as well. And playing 2 slow paced role-playing games as needed.

  • TurnTable FM is nice but it can never replace glitch

  • RunESCAPE!

Well, actually, considering it's all based in Java Runescape is actually very good in what it does. And actually sorta fun. It was my first MMORPG... The thing though, is just how crowded it is. The community's average, like in any other MMORPG you'll fine, but seriously. It is really, really, crowded.

I'll just do what I always do. Read, sketch, play other video games... covertly play piano when no one else but my cat is home... And of course make my boyfriend red, and squeaky, and his glasses fog up. It's so cute!

  • Turntable is an entertaining alternative, but it couldn't ever replace Glitch for me -- they're not comparable! Turntable isn't as fun if you don't have some friends on there to DJ with you, in my opinion, and most of my friends either can't be bothered to use it or are never online.

A few of my friends tried to get me to play Maplestory the other day because I was complaining about needing to kill some time, and I got a headache from the graphics and the entire experience in general. I feel like Glitch has ruined most online games for me; NOTHING IS GOOD ENOUGH ANYMORE. :(

  • I was going to try Maplestory, but it's PC only....who doesn't include Mac these days? Really?

  • Tumblr.
    Paperwork.
Watching Horror movies with a group of friends, romance/fantasy with another friend.
Going to food trucks which are now an L.A. staple.
Planning how to survive carmageddon next weekend.
Preparing for my party the weekend after.
Plotting a time to go get my free piece from Godiva since it is now July.
Hiding in bushes to ogle hot men.
Tumblring more about hot men. And cats.
    Harassing my cat.
    Playing Words with Friends.
Maybe finally setting up my Wii again and FINALLY starting to play the bajillion games I've bought but haven't played yet.
Utilizing my free trial to Netflix.
    Working, too.
    Drawing.
Completing one of the EIGHT journals or workbooks I have (Wreck This Journal, Mess, This Is Not a Book, my Moleskine, Listography, Vs. Journal, All About Me, or 642 Things To Draw).
    Eating my feelings.
Navigating Google+ and chastising all of my Facebook friends about how much Facebook sucks.
Maybe playing Zelda or Pilotwings on my 3DS a little more.
    Etc.

  • Play other games, read as much of my library book as possible (it's so deep I can only read a chapter or two at a time) which is due the 12th, and clean like crazy the 11th. Oh and stalk here, hoping for a pretest test.

  • I have some paperwork and research (not work-related) to take care of this weekend, but other than that (and excluding the regular family and grocery shopping and housekeeping endeavors) I intend to engage in:

    1.  Reading marathon!  I'm pretty much on track with my 2011 goal (whereas I was farther behind at this time last year) but I find myself reading less the past 6 weeks or so than I usually do.  So I want to read as much as possible over the next several days.  I also need to write a couple of reviews for Goodreads.  (Which reminds me:  If anyone is on Goodreads, my profile is linked here on my Glitch profile.  I'd love to have some Goodreads/Glitch cross-over friends!)
    2.  I want to make some progress on my "teach myself to knit" project.  Without going into a ton of maudlin detail, I have an autoimmune arthritis, and I can't do much fussy-fingered dexterity-based work when the weather is wrong.  Living in the Pacific NW, even though it's supposedly summer we've only had like 3-5 days over 70F this year and frequent chilly rain.  (It's 63F, overcast and drizzling right now, ending our warmish/dryish streak.)  We are supposed to have some mild, not too damp weather this weekend, which might allow me to knit without my fingers locking up and aching too much.
    3.  I want to try to get in some time on the stepper, too, which while not being geeky is most definitely important to me.  This often depends on similar conditions to #2 above, but with regards to how weather impacts my hip and knees as opposed to hands.
    4. If I start itching for a game, I'll probably play a bit of Civilization 5 or continue learning UCO (Uncharted Waters Online, a free MMO based around trade, crafting, and exploration during the Age of Sail.)

So I am a geek. Getting my geek on would be like asking a pig to put its oink on. Or the sun to put its shine on. :D :D :D

I'm putting in my current norm of 55-60 hours of work. But leave for vacation on Saturday morning.

Also, it's funny how I can't seem to focus on homework when I know there's a Glitch test going on. :D

  •  I played FreeRealms and it was so boring, not fun at all... It only helped to miss glitch even more.
I´ll try RunESCAPE now... let´s see if it helps.

For those looking for more games to try, I am occasionally known to recommend the kingdom of loathing or puzzle pirates.

  • It's not opening until the 12th? Bummer.

I'm leaving for a week long camping trip on the 10th. So I won't get to play! whon whon.

  • OMG the Cat Boat! I want a Borre of my very own! But it seems I can't have him, even if I wasn't in Chicago with two cats of my own... now I want to sponsor Dutch cats!

  • I checked out turntable.fm - read up on it... looks interesting, of course, I have no facebook friends who are on it.. so I can't try it out...

I think I'll catch up on the last month and a half of Secret Life, maybe watch some Switched at Birth (since I haven't even seen the first episode)

If I can find last weeks episode of True Blood - I'll definitely watch that!

Other than that... I'll probably be checking back here frequently, to see if there's anything interesting to get into!

  • Oh please don't play Runescape. It's a terrible game with a horrible hypocritical staff that I hate very much. I quit RS to play Glitch.

I spend most of my time on tumblr.

  • I´ve tried all these games, none of them is good as Glitch, this is so sad. Heavy, terrible graphics, boring and slow. all of them :(

So I´m just cleaning, cleaning everything I see inside my house... I guess on 12th I´ll be at least playing glitch on a perfectly clean place. haha

    ಠдಠ

    Well, to each their own...

...Anyway, if any of you guys are playing The Sims 3 with any expansion packs, stop immediately. Go play The Sims 1. Yes, that's what a Sims game without bugs feels like. Forgotten have you?

  • Omg I LOVE City of heroes. New favourite game. Cant wait till it goes free to play
Posted 17 months ago by Taylor Swift Subscriber! | Permalink
  • City of Heroes is really fun, and the character customisation is really something to admire.

I used to have a subscription, but because of school I wasn't playing it enough to justify the cost... So I can't wait 'til it goes to free-to-play either. My villain's over level six, so my name should be untouched when I get back.
Posted 17 months ago by Liridona Subscriber! | Permalink
  • Villain?!?! I think its too much fun when the NPC's tell me Im their new favourite hero!

  • I'm downloading a trial of CoH now...I've always heard lots about it, so I'm excited to give it a try...if it ever finishes downloading....lol ;)
Posted 17 months ago by NutMeg Botwin Subscriber! | Permalink
  • Nutmeg its so much fun! I wish that it gave players more of en edge (Because I want to be a badass super powered hero) but I guess that would take away from the content just to add aesthetic. SUper torn between whether I'll be taking full advantage of my trial or playing glitchh
Posted 17 months ago by Taylor Swift Subscriber! | Permalink
  • Villains are more mysterious and romantic. Plus they can pull off wearing black leather uniforms and still be taken seriously, unlike superheroes. You know, aside from Batman.
