Animal Sticks for sale at Animal Goods Vendors

The Animal Goods Vendors have added three new items to their inventory: Pig Sticks, Chicken Sticks, and Butterfly Sticks.

Place a Pig Stick in your house or yard to keep all your piggies near the stick. Chicken Sticks and Butterfly Sticks work the same way, except for Chickens and Butterflies respectively.

Some restrictions:
* You'll need the basic Herdkeeping skill.
* You can't place more than one stick of the same type in one location.
* You can't use animal sticks in locations that you don't own.
* Animal sticks don't work in houses that have animal pens (some houses in Alakol, Kajuu, and Aranna).

Also keep in mind that the animals can only stay near the stick if they can get to it, so don't put a Pig Stick on the top floor of your house and expect the piggies on the bottom floor to suddenly learn how to climb :)

  • I really love this idea A LOT!

But I wish they worked with homes with pens, I have $50 home and I would totally love having my butterflies up where my garden is & my pigs in the pen along with my chickens.

  • Gosh darnit! The housing thread took up all my attention, so I didn't see this til now. I guess I shall have to wait until tomorrow to log in and grab some of those to play with! :)

  • Oh that's a pretty cool thing.  =)  can't wait to get in-world to try it out!  Thanks for these...

Edit - I still haven't tried these out, but I just wanted to say, I think the design is really positively perfect and lovely. <3  So aesthetically pleasing.  I hope we get more things like this (beaded, feathery, carved wood bits of joy!  Maybe garden stake decorations??)

  • I tested it out on my Home Street and it can be "placed" so now my street piggies are wandering back and forth a bean tree.

  • I love them!  it's not that they work (my Butterfly stick does!) but that they are just cool looking and I am tempted to set down multiple sticks.  I haven't tried the Piggie stick yet but my chickens are mostly oblivious to their stick.  Doen't matter a whit because I love thises dticks!  How silly is that? Lol!

  • I'd like it very much if we could set the effective radius for these sticks.

  • Oh a question - I bought some but haven't tried them yet as I don't want to lose any animals in the coming updates however, I want to know if we can use them INSIDE our houses too~?  Or only outside and on home streets?  :)

It would be super cool to have a butterfly room in my new house.  :: loves ::

  • ... Another question: Can we use more than 1 stick per house..?  :D
Posted 9 months ago by ♪♥~ Auren ~♥♪ Subscriber! | Permalink
  • You can have 1 stick of each type in your house/yard and 1 of each type in your home street.

You can't have 2 stick of the same type in the same place because the poor animals would get confused.
Posted 9 months ago by Etna Subscriber! | Permalink
  • Hm. Am I missing something? Do the animals just automatically stand by the sticks?
Posted 9 months ago by Bozzlebee Subscriber! | Permalink
  • I think they must be coated in some kind of powerful pheromone, Bozzlebee. The critters circle their sticks endlessly, slowing as they approach the outer limits... then helplessly turning back towards their beloved stick like a firefly to a whistle, a Hare Krishna to an airport, a grandma to bingo. It becomes the center of their universe, their raison d'etre, their only focus to life.

Yes, it's true, Bozzlebee. They are automagically drawn to their sticks. Funny old world, innit?

  • A jar of butterfly pheromones would be a sweet tool. I expected there to be something more *involved* like clacking the stick or hollering "SsoooooOOOOEEEEEEEeeeee!"
