Long-term quests

This was mentioned briefly here by Aniloverl, and I thought it was an interesting idea. Quests with more than two (clearly related) phases, forcing you to travel around the world and complete challenges (it would be interesting to work interplayer challenges into this). Long-term quests could give more rare rewards than just XP, currants, energy, and mood, even temporary premium items.

  • I am biased but +1

When we get to level 30+ the world is boring because we have learned almost everything and can go for a long time with out quests (I had one last week). After accumulating a ridiculous amount of wealth we have nothing to do really.

  • Love this idea...especially some quests that take you back to some of the basics but in combos that maybe you didn't try before.

Seems like some are already multi-elemental...ie, the cooking/making drinks quests often require you to make more than one thing...but it would be cool to mix it up and maybe have to use different utensils to complete a future cooking quests.

I do remember having to harvest from every tree that required you to roam around looking for various trees (especially those paper and wood trees can be challenging if you don't know where they are yet).  That one was quite enjoyable to have to figure out where things were... though you could expand it to require you to water each type of tree, but only after you have harvested them, and maybe they'd have to be different trees...and then a third phase of petting each type of tree again different trees required...that would have you running all over the place.  Something similar with vendors would be interesting too...I'm thinking of something like...pick one item, and sell one to every type of vendor...

It would be cool if there were things in world that you couldn't do/see until you get to a certain level, though they might be hiding in plain sight...a cave on a street that isn't viewable until you get past level 20...in said cave is a bunch of egg plants, and rocks.  Or some of those doors in Ix finally open when you hit level 30 and you get a street that is strictly level 30+.  Think it would be great to have islands that would be for 20+, 30+, 40+, 50+, etc.  Maybe not huge worlds, but some refuges/outlets for when the other worlds get too crowded...sort of like premium resorts for the more dedicated players.

  • +1 for b3achy's idea of more level restrictions. Some vendors could be level-biased, too, with better prices and whatnot.

  • I'd like another Gwendolyn. And maybe that would require me to meditate, then run back to the ghost, then she'll order you to do something again, then you run back...... you get the idea.

I don't want to offend my Magic Rock, but I would like more quests from NPC's. With a narrative and a purpose, possibly multiple quests tied to your level. Quests that require you to explore the world of Ur.

For instance, I don't really understand why my Rock wanted me to help some dustbunny find its marblethingy in a house that didn't resemble any of the houses within Ur. Weirrrd.

  • Quests that give incentive for the player to explore the world sound great. And yeah, it is a bit sad that the dustbunny level environment is largely forgotten... Also the sleeping cat in the background. Yeah.

  • The sleeping cat does explain where hairball flowers come from, though :D

  • Ooh, good ideas in here. Very much +1

Though I will say that while stuff like that dustbunny thing hasn't gone anywhere...I don't mind. In fact, I actually love totally unrelated non sequitur silliness. :)

    I'm a banana! Whizzlehizz!

  • The silliness is what keeps things fun RM. Btw, I'd love a new something. I don't care if it's smashing a rook egg again. Heck, I don't care if it's WRESTLING a rook.
PS: Now that I think of it, my Magic Rock did mention something about needing me again when I finished that quest. Possibly, the devs are working on it now, and that will explain the prolonged closing?
