Once upon a time there was a little bear. She was called Snow Bear for no particular reason. She had seven cubimal friends, who she played with all the time, and a nice pair of lips. One day, though, the Juju Cubimal decided that their games were boring. He convinced the rest to break into a Glitch's house. "We're more than toys," he said, and all the other cubimals agreed!
Snow Bear was the only toy who didn't want to do it. "It's wrong," she said, but the Juju replied, "Think of the things you might find in there!"
"Food!" said the Piggy Cubimal.
"Ice!" said the Snowcone Vendor Cubimal.
"Shiny things!" said the Dustbunny Cubimal.
So Snow Bear relented and they broke in.
Well, there was food aplenty, awesome stews and pumpkin pies, and lots of drinks to satisfy their thirst, especially hooch which flowed freely from a spout in a weird wooden thing. There were many shiny things, too, and ice stuffed into a bag stuffed into a cabinet. Keys kept the Squid Cubimal happy, and the Juju Cubimal--well, he took everything!
But Snow Bear looked distressed, and the Chick and Cactus Cubimals asked her why.
"I don't feel right, taking all this stuff," she said. But then the Piggy waddled up to her. "Look what I found!" he said, clutching an apple through his mouth (and speaking through his nose because of course that's how Piggies talk while eating).
Snow Bear had a weakness for apples, and this one was particularly bright and red. She looked at it and then reached for it and took a tentative bite.
But the apple was magical. It was shiny, cold, sweet, and delicious, so of course it was magical. And Snow Bear fell to the ground, overcome by the sheer magic of the magic apple.
There she lay.
Since then, Emotional Bears have never been able to move. When dropped, they lie as if dead--because Snow Bear ate that darn apple. Cubimals, however, who feasted on awesome stew and hooch, can move pretty far--so far that glitchen must measure it in planks.
And Snow Bear? She's stuffed in my closet. Those apples are freakin' mine.
