Warning to all smugglers!!

I climbed a ladder to scrape some barnacles along the way, thinking I'd be safe for the moment since the deimaginators can't climb...

...well...apparently they can now.

Actually, he didn't so much climb up after me as teleport up the ladder. It was freaky. o_o

  • The same happened to me when I went hunting for a Qurazy Quoin while smuggling. They watched and they learned... It's a little unsettling. What will they learn next? =P

  • Smuggling requires your full focus, we've been lulled into a sense of false security.

  • I did this quest a few times as a noob, but the game's gotten too laggy for it to be anything other than random any longer.

  • Or they're mean because we hung up their little brothers and sisters all dried up as decorations in our houses...

  • @Blahtopian So if I drop some butterfly lotion, maybe they will go for that and leave me alone?

(Would be useful to able to distract them...)

  • Jujus do sort of the same thing, only they just jump down and up really fast the ladders in Ancestral Lands. They don't seem to go to lower platforms, though, so you are "protected" in a "shelter" unless you go to the ladder.

  • Has anyone tried going home while you have a smuggler package?  That might be interesting, but a deimaginator inside my house would be really spooky.

  • I think I've seen a photo of a deimaginator in someone's house... : (

  • You can go home and have a deimaginator follow you, but it can't climb onto furniture or go up to the second or third floors.

  • @Yog-Sothoth they seem to spawn every other time I go spice-collecting in E Spice.

I might be wrong & things have changed in the last couple of days, but my guess is that you're seeing the normal dematerialize/rematerialize that deimaginators sometimes do on streets.

It's important to make sure you've got your sound turned on. The deimaginators make a "bzzzt" sound when they appear or disappear. You'll always get one appear in front of you at the beginning of a street but, after you've jumped over him, you'll often get him disappear and reappear ahead of you further down the street (that's the double "bzzzt" sound you hear).

I'll definitely be keeping a close eye out for unusual behaviour though.
