Overcrowding and home streets?

I'm trying to find out how many animals I can keep on my home street before there is overcrowding.  Some searching has only told me about how things worked with the old-style homes, and all I've been able to find for the new home streets is estimates.  Can anyone help me?I have fully expanded my front and back yards.  I have 35 Piggies, 16 Butterflies, and 5 Chickens in my front yard with no problems.  But I have only 26 Piggies in the back yard, and they started to complain about overcrowding.  Can the back yard not hold as many?  :/  Any info would be appreciated!

  • You can have 40 piggies front and back with no problem (if fully expanded and depending on other hammymals).  They will complain at first, but settle down quickly.  I suspect its 40-20-20, but I'm still experimenting with the chickens and butterflies.  However someone will know, I'm sure :)

  • Hm, I'd heard that before, but that's why I was so shocked when the pigs alone in the backyard started complaining at 26.  I guess I'll try adding new pigs one at a time and see if that helps.  Thanks!

  • I don't know if this is true but I have heard that pigs get lonely without other animals around.  Maybe you should add some chickens and butterflies.

  • In the front I have 44 piggies and currently 12 chickens and 18 butterflies.

I have had 20 chickens  and 20 butterflies too but can't remember if I had 44 piggies then

  • I was trying to figure this out as well, glad to see a thread! So anyone found out in the end? My old maths won't work because it was before we have our own street and before iMG existed...
So far I do 4 pigs per feeder, right now I have 16 pigs and also 3 collectors...

So anyone knows the final answer? Backyard, fully extended... Thanks! XD

  • If I remember correctly with all "happy animal" upgrades + fully extended yard/street you can have 40 piggies, 20 chickens and 20 butterflies as was mentioned above. Trick was to add them one at a time and not dump all of them at once.

  • Yes I heard so, but I guess I asked my question the wrong way hehe sorry... What I meant to ask is, how many Collectors and Feeders does it need to work well? Thanks so much for the info!

  • Oh!

Are you looking for efficient feeding and harvesting ratios? That is, when it's time to harvest it's also time to feed?

Because I tried that before and it's not that enjoyable. I upped my feeder:piggie ratio to 1:1 and keep the collector:piggie ratio at 1:3. That ratio gives me more time to wander Ur without worrying about the piggies starving and still make off with a nice haul of meat.
