Glitch/Chrome issues. anyone know something?

I used to play Glitch on Chrome which is the main browser I use all the time with no problem, I played with it from March to aproximately July last year, but suddenly when I logged in anytime I would push for right or left I would start running in that direction and never stop. even clicking a spot to walk to with the mouse did it.  ctrl+enter works to stop, but I can't move around the world easily because I have to push one direction and then ctrl+enter everytime i want to stop.
jumping around /releasing the arrow in a special way don't work at all.....

please someone who knows about chrome/flash/technical bits of Glitch, help!

  • I always use Chrome, and play from multiple different computers (Win Vista, Win 7 and Mac OSX) with no issues.  Perhaps your settings or your keyboard got gunked up.  Maybe a stuck key?  Have you rebooted since the issues started?

  • As I recall from somewhere else, the "won't stop walking" bug is a flash issue, not a chrome issue.

  • It happens to me sometimes and I use Firefox. Tends to be when I've been logged into game for awhile and it gets a bit laggy. The issue where the Glitch won't stop going left or right usually is resolved when I press the control key but I always just assumed it was down to my old laptop and not the browser.

  • it is only happening in chrome and does not happen in say firefox or explorer. and it happens 100% of the time and not just when I've been on for a while

  • I use Chrome on a Mac and get that issue now and then. All you have to do is reload.

  • but reloading does not work. it does it 100% of the time

  • Have you submitted a bug report? Have you done the self-help test and submitted that so staff can possibly address any issues you might be having?
Usually, if you start moving in one direction and won't stop, pressing and releasing the arrow key in the direction you are going will stop you. Have you tried that?

  • I have tried the arrow thing and I said so in the initial post I just didn't explain it as well.

The self help test was good..... I think..... everything was green....

I did submit a bug report when the problem started last July.... and got similar feedback to this thread

  • It happened to me for the first time ever earlier today (Chrome on OSX Lion). Very annoying but was gone the next time I entered the game.

  • It sounds like you need to clear your flash cache. I am still at work but can look for the link to do so later.

  • Did you install the flash debug player or any other flash player other than the one natively installed in Chrome?  If so, you have to update it manually or go back into the Chrome settings to tell it to use the flash player that's built-in.

  • I actually only have this problem in FireFox, strangely enough.

  • It is probably your flash cache. Try to delete that - it'll also help if you're experiencing lag.

To delete flash cache: search 'delete flash cache' and choose the link from shokwave (on phone - have no link from this device)
    :)

Also another "fix": switch to another window then back to game - should unfreeze your walking :)

  • Here is the link. Click "Delete all sites" and it will clear your cache. I usually have to do it every two weeks or so.
