My personal outlook of the forums

Let's keep the advertising/Individual questions to groups ok? anyone else agree?

Here is a list of groups that will be of relevance (I will update this as new groups are formed):

1. Cubimals: Cubimal Traders
2. Emblems/Icons: Emblem Trading
3. General Trading: Trading/ Pre-Auction Group
4. Help: FAQ Group

(Am I missing any groups? Let me know, I will update this.)

  • Sorry, I don't agree.
Selling is a part of the game play.
People should not be forced to join a group to sell.
A Sales forum should be made so that everyone can use it. Until then, I don't see why people should be forced to join three or more groups if they want to sell or buy things.
It does amaze me that Tiny Speck have not already made a sales forum. It's a pretty basic concept in a game like this that has a trade feature.

  • Until there is an official rule stating otherwise, I would encourage people to ignore this and similar requests. Just because select people are unhappy with some of the types of topics posted on the forums does not make the people who post those topics more or less entitled to have their posts be given the same exposure as "Help with ghosts," "Stealing," or "Username origins," along with many other topics that all fit the definition of general. I don't think any one group of people could really say what should or shouldn't be posted based on the very loose definition of general that is outlined in the guidelines.

  • I don't mean to force anyone into groups Ebil, I just don't see why its become so important to make a worldwide announcement to make a profit.

Gekko, I am definitely not trying to make it look like i am making everyone follow these directions, but I must not have made that clear. I am merely suggesting that until a better solution is reached, we can try alternatives

  • By that theory, shouldn't every category have its own specific group? I'm not sure how some types of topics are acceptable for massive exposure while others should be sent to groups where they will be seen by a lot less people? Where is the line defining what is and is not acceptable for full forum exposure? Seems to be a fine line that gets determined by how each person plays the game individually. For that matter I would imagine there are plenty of traders and sellers who do not like the random quest questions posted when there are groups dedicated to help with specific tasks.

Where exactly is the balance that makes everyone happy? So far all we have is a general forum, which to my understanding is intended to be used for general discussion about anything related to playing the game. Since there is no wrong way to play the game, obviously that would translate to every topic seems to fit this forum pretty well in that sense.

  • Having this petition up to be signed, just feels a bit like you're kind of pressurizing people.
Just seems a bit "Play the game my way" to me.
I personally don't see a problem with sales posts in general anyway. Usually they're clear from the title as to what they are (maybe not all the time, but most are), it's just as easy to avoid those posts if you're not interested in them, as it is to avoid any other posts you don't want to read.

  • I don't agree with this at all.  c:

  • Thank you for that Ebil, I will change the title. I wasn't really thinking as i posted that much.

Gekko, I definitely see where you're coming from and as stupid as it might sound, I actually think that that theory could work, but like i said, as it is, there is no perfect balance. I'm agree with your "definition" so to say of the General forum but I just am not completely sure how to achieve the perfect balance. Personally, I am a tiny bit sick of these threads as you can see but if the ball keeps rolling, I can't stop it alone.

  • It is rather annoying to parse through multiple pages of the forums to find interesting topics buried under trade requests.  But I don't think directing said people to groups will actually have an impact.

A new forum page is needed, and only tiny speck can make that happen.

  • Djoe, I see where you're coming from and agree with Ebil and other players that a trades section in the Forums may just be the ticket.  However, in the meanwhile FWIW, it seems that most of the people currently in Cubimal Traders already have a majority of the cubimals.  I posted my list in CT and in the General forum.  The only responses I got were from the General forum posting.  So, unless another batch of players needing almost all of the cubimals joins CT, there will be a better response from this part of the Forum.

  • I agree that it's annoying.
Sadly the General Forum is getting to be like Ajaya Bliss or Neva Neva.
Just like them, I may just stop coming here.

  • FWIW, I have joined several similar groups to those you propose and PEOPLE ARE NOT USING THEM. I'd be happy to stick to using Groups, but if only three people bother, it doesn't work.

We need a subcategory on the Forum specifically for Market stuff (buy / sell / trade / wanted).

    There isn't one yet.

You're kind of out of luck until there is, or until people actually USE THE RELEVANT GROUPS. I tried. I waited several days. Consequently, I posted, in frustration, in General and got a reply within a couple of hours...and there you have the reason why people will not quit posting Market-related stuff in the forums.

  • The sorts of messages mentioned by the OP are spammy.  The thing is, spam suddenly stops seeming like such a bad thing when you're the one using it to sell stuff, doesn't it?
Posted 13 months ago by WalruZ Subscriber! | Permalink
  • Oh no, it is still spam. We probably all acknowledge that. However, posting on the forums is currently the best way to get a response of any kind. Until the groups function as intended (or get more active users) or there is a separate section for Market posts, however, I suspect you're stuck with the spam.

The good news is that most people posting the spam posts helpfully ID them in the subject line so they can be ignored.

  • doesn't bother me one bit that ppl sell/advertise on main forums. i rather see stuff on forums than join a billion groups and search a billion forums.
