Skill Tree

All I have left is the cooking skill tree, but I haven't been able to play much at all so it might take me a while to get the achievements.  Between illness in my family, and myself have some medical problems, plus school, midterms, preparation for my winter study abroad, and trying to enjoy senior year of college, I haven't had time to keep in touch with all you lovely Glitches!

Anyways, I only have the cooking skills left: anyone finished yet?  It would be cool to see the fastest amount of time someone worked their way through the skill tree.

  • I have 1 day 20 hours left in fuelmaking (not sped up at all), at which point I intend to stop learning skills. I don't want to learn eyeballery, snapshotting, herbalism, or penspersonship unless it turns out I need them later on. Otherwise, I am completely done with the whole skill tree. I learned the skills in a fairly efficient way, but definitely not the most efficient, so I'm sure it's possible someone else completely finished the entire skill tree awhile ago.

  • So in other words, you're not finished yet.

I currently have 19 days left of skills to learn...

  • Yeah, but probably if I sped up the very long fuelmaking skill to max I could have been done with everything by now. But I'd rather not make new, more awesome skills that they release in the future take longer to learn.

  • I finished today with snapshotting as the last skill in the tree. I tired to be most effective with learning all the big skills first (Better Learning V, Mining IV), and worked my way down to the Crafting skills. I could have been done last week but I clawed back my play time and stopped spending favor (damn you icons).

  • Yep, I just checked: I have about 3 days of skills left (really 1.5 when sped to max). I could have very easily completed that by now if I'd sped up fuelmaking and learned those instead of just waiting on the base fuelmaking time since it's the last skill I'm intending to learn.

  • I am ocd and will learn every skill no matter what. I will even learn unlearn if I can without losing any skill, I would take a month straight of a skill rather than have any uncompleted

  • I know several peeps who have completed all 93 skills.  I'm not  one of them, but I am very happy with what I've learned so far and the skill trees I chose to learn. I have stopped speed learning and will let the handful of skills I have left just run their course.

@Shephardmoon: Do learn Eyeballery. You won't be sorry:)

  • I completed it about two weeks ago. Marebito was done before me.

  • @Shephardmoon: I have stopped learning skills for the same reasons you state.

When I mentioned that in a separate thread, various people chimed in saying that eyeballery was worthwhile. And so I learned it, and I'm glad I did!

  • eyeballery is indeed handy.

it is also cool in places where you don't necessarily wee all the artwork unless you can look all around.

not perhaps good for the efficiency folks, but AWESOME for those of us who just like to go and look.

  • No its good for the efficiency folks cause you can enter a street give it a quick scan for rocks you need to mine, see that they are all gone and go to the next street which you can see that street has several without having to run all over it

  • But you know, just after you leave, they all respawn. :)

  • I find that it takes almost as long to eyeball a street as it would to just run down it.  And if you ran down it instead, there you are at whatever you found.  There are times, though, when it is useful.  The best use I have found is in hard-to-get-around areas, i.e. when hunting fireflies.  But the scrolling is S-O . . . S-L-O-W that it's often useless.  I used to be worried that the slowness was a function of my computer's pitiful graphic card, but have been relieved to discover it's probably just nerfed to be about the same for all players.

  • I finished the cooking Skill Tree on Friday. No idea when I joined but it was around mid October.
