Gameplay Update - Dec. 22

Though this'll be short and sweet, a whole slew of things have been added that'll give you a loooong pour of new content to wade into next time you pop into the world (if you are properly skilled and leveled that is).

First off, the newly-grown skill Herbalism III increases your chances of getting uncommonly high rewards for every action you take while coaxing herbs out of the earth and preparing for your next round of planting.

For those of you who've been roaming around Ur like a Don Glixote brandishing your High-Class Hoe and crying, "Give me a quest, any quest!" … today is your day. We’re adding 13 skill-associated quests, along with 2 new quests for those who have reached a certain level. These will apply retroactively to everyone who would have qualified for them in the past, so advanced players may find their Quest Log all abuzz. What kind of quests are these you ask? Well there will be ones for the ever-esoteric Jellisac Hands; all levels of Herbalism and Teleportation; one for Engineering, Fuelmaking and Blockmaking respectively; and finally, a quest for Eyeballery that you could almost call ‘visionary’.

So brave Glitchen, you have your missions. Venture forward and reap as much expertise as these quests bequeath.

  • ... no new croppery or gardening or mining quests?  Or have I just for some reason not gotten them yet?  All the garden type quests I've gotten now are herb related and I refuse to "go there" right now.  =(

that is.. can we please have a list of skills that have new quests associated with them so I know exactly what I should be getting at my skill level please?

  • oh wow nevermind, I just realised those are listed in the very first post X( I fail.
So.. why no love for croppery and gardening and mining eh?

  • Elka, it is not a circle, as each player has the chance to make 11 icons, and they only need one to satisfy the quest requirement.  Unless you thought I was referring to players that had one icon left, but that would be pointless.  Most players have most of their icons to finish.
Posted 12 months ago by Kirnan Subscriber! | Permalink
  • @Kirnan, I believe she means that the friend who does not have the Giant Lover badge would have to eventually make a 12th badge also eventually. You only get that badge for making 11 icons, not just possessing them.

  • So.. why no love for croppery and gardening and mining eh?

The quests seem to be for skills that had no quests at all associated with them.  You've probably already done all of the croppery, gardening and mining ones. I know I have

  • I'm very much in favor of being thrown random quests on a fairy regular basis.  As we all know, the more skills you acquire, the longer it takes to learn the new ones (even when you have the BLs).  I personally get a kick out of the quests and find myself getting a little bored when it's taking me a (real time) week or so to learn a skill.  Sure, we can create goals for ourselves and that's a big part of the fun and imaginative world of Glitch!  But once in a while, it's nice to have the magic rock send you on an unexpected mission!  :)

  • I used the "teleport 5 times in 30 minutes" quest as an excuse to dump all my stuff at a friend's house and finally move into a nice new house.  (Of course, I then had to do multiple ports back to collect it all, but still.)

  • I just want to second Xyrem's "Uniconize" suggestion.  I really have no use for another icon since I have had all 11 for quite a while now.  The Achievement for making all 11 is not accessible to me either.. even though I have previously made all 11 Icons.  If we could uniconize and reiconize those icons.. I could get both the achievement and the quest.

  • If I'm Don Glixote, who will be my Glincho Panza?

Also, the quests are, to me, one of the most amusing things, I can't wait to hit some of these higher levels and see them.

  • Hey, I have a question about the new teleportation script quest.
When you don't have a any TP token or credits left on your account, does it mean you have to get a subscription to complete the quest?!
I thought you wanted to avoid that kind of gameplay at Tiny Speck?

Btw, the Eyeballery quest was fun,
How about a "reporter-like" quest for snapshotting?
Posted 12 months ago by Lemo Subscriber! | Permalink
  • @Lemo

Read the quest description again.  The teleport script does not require that the script be imbued.

  • I want to make sure I understand the Loyalty's Rich Rewards Quest:

I'm supposed to collect 11 emblems from a single Giant, right?

And I am supposed to keep all of them (without spending them) until I have 11. Is that right?

(I have one that I've kept, but I just earned a second one from the same giant and it didn't give me the option to claim it. Help?)
Posted 12 months ago by thistle Subscriber! | Permalink
  • That is correct, thistle. Did you donate to get the second emblem? If so, it would have been given to you automatically. If you didn't donate to get the second emblem, are you sure that was of the same giant?
Posted 12 months ago by Millie Subscriber! | Permalink
  • Millie - Thank you for confirming my understanding of the quest! :)

Also, you're right - the 2nd emblem was given to me automatically. I just missed it in my inventory.

    Thank you!
