So for a while I was competing in the top of the leaderboards for today's quest, and was visiting as many streets as I could, on any serious route or basic housing route I could find. I noticed that a user on a route had me blocked though, and that got me thinking.
I know herb harvesting and crop harvesting are controversial topics that draw out tons of people commenting, and I am 100% on the 'harvest, clear, replant' team because not only is it common courtesy, it's impolite to do otherwise. Whenever I use the community crop garden route or the herb route or the yellow crumb route (that I've started to frequent) for any reason (in this case it was to pet trees and such where many people might not be), I worry that my name popping up in 'who visited' might cause a ban like it clearly did in this case. Someone might come a while behind me and muck up the whole garden, and our names are side by side in the who visited butler message, and thus I'm put to blame for something I've not done.
While it is very possible the user in question could have banned me for other reasons (I'm not above thinking I do things wrong sometimes, but I hadn't visited this user other than the route) I do think that it kind of sucks getting banned and 1) not knowing why or 2) having it be because of some irresponsible player that mucks up gardens and muddies everyone else's name in the who visited.
I guess I just wanted to see what other peoples opinions on this topic are. I understand a users right to ban, but sometimes it really sucks when you try to do everything right and pay forward the kindness of other glitches and find yourself banned :c
For now, something I've been doing is leaving little messages or gifts with the owners of the street letting them know what I've done or not done, just in case. :)
