Favor Points/Fast Learning Problem?

A couple of days ago I started Better Learning 5 at somewhere between 4 and 5 days.

For a few game days I donating almost my max to Lem to spend the points to speed up my learning, shaving off a total of about 7 hours. All of a sudden it wouldn't let me spend any more favor points (at any giant shrine)..

Is the consensus about being able to spend half of your (remaining time) incorrect? Because what I was able to spend was definitely not half of more than four days (I had just under 4 days left when it stopped letting me donate).

  • Did you change skills and then switch back? You can not speed up your learning time any more once you've done that.

  • Ooooh. I thought that message about losing your speed learning meant that your time remaining would revert back to full time.

    Guess I misunderstood it.

Thanks for the info, because, yeah, I did. :)

  • I found the same bug today.  Looking back at the text, it's either misbehaving or the description is wrong.

It says "Whoa! You're learning super fast. Keep in mind, if you switch skills you'll lose your super speed."  This seems pretty clear that when I resume learning that skill, the speed-up I got by spending favor wouldn't be in effect anymore.  When I did resume learning that skill and wasn't allowed to spend favor to speed up learning, I was surprised and disappointed.

Taking an extra few days to learn a skill is not the end of the world, but those kinds of surprises aren't any fun.  If the current behavior is what's intended, there should be a clear warning.

  • I've noticed the same thing and was checking here to see with the answer was.  I switched away from Tinkering V shortly after starting it.  I assumed that I would lose any thing that I had done to speed up Tinkering V already, but did not believe I would not be able to speed it up again once I returned to it.

Now that I'm back on Tinkering V, it says that I'm super fast learning and I cannot contribute to the process any further, but I don't believe it is fast learning.

    My questions are:

    1) When you switch to learning a new skill, does that mean you will not be able to speed up the skill that you paused when you return to it?  If so, then that should be made more clear.

    2) Why does it show that I am super fast learning when I am not?

    3) Is everyone as addicted to this game as I am?

    Thanks, David
