Is this ... a joke?
-
How is it a joke? It is high compared to normal selling prices, but currants are basically worthless other than blowing them on rare items or earning iMG. Personally i wouldn't sell a pickle for less than 10 mil, but yet again what would i do with all those currants (other than waste them)?

Currants are a not "worthless". In fact, I'd say the "worth" of currants has gone up with the advent of imagination- now you can in effect buy imagination with currants via shrine donations, and imagination is anything but worthless. What makes a pickle or other "rare" item so valuable anyways, besides the fact that there is a limited number? It's fun to play with for a few days after you get it and you might be able to get a GNG out of it after a long time (I haven't been able to since I got mine for a couple weeks so it's not like they are dropping GNGs left and right), but other than that it doesn't do anything from a practical point of view. If someone offered me 10 million, heck, 5 million, I'd sell mine in a heartbeat. If I wanted to I could buy it back and have a good couple million left over, there seem to be plenty of people willing to let it go for lower currently. Perhaps if you have 10 million imagination points and 10 million currants then currants are in essence worthless to you, but I, and most other people are not in that situation so currants are quite useful ;)
PS: Not saying that pickles are worthless either (have one myself), just playing devil's advocate in the above paragraph.
Sorry to OP for being off subject, consider this a bump lol! :)

Every time I buy a new pickle... it has dropped a gng. I don't find this price a joke at all. I love my pickle to death and wouldn't really sell them at all to be honest. (for at least Iycans price for sure)
-
It's not about currants being worthless or not worthless. It's about the fact that the pickle is rare. Some people may not care about the pickle, having it or what it can do, but others do, and they're willing to part with currants to get it.
-
Hey Jessenya, just out of curiosity, how many pickles do you have?
-
I have 2 at the moment

Ah,

I think the other thing people are forgetting about currants is that soon you will be able to buy upgraded furniture for them. So even if you don't have the credits for the upgrades, those who subscribe may be selling upgraded furniture at auction.
So currants can be used to buy imagination via donations and crafting materials, and soon it will be the only way to decorate your house unless you have a bucket of credits (which cost RL $).

@Omnika- I guess you missed the part where is said "currants are BASICALLY worthless OTHER THAN blowing them on rare items or earning iMG" . You're right, you can donate and get alot of iMG, but the thing is you can always earn iMG other ways. Yes it will take longer, but iMG is an easily attained resource, while pickles, yetis, and dusty sticks aren't. How many people, before iMG, Leveled off at 60 with all the skills and then were sorta stuck with no new quests or goals other than one's they made up? Also, rare items seem to be the only ones that constantly increase in value, where everything else has levels off eventually.

I've never used currants to gain imagination. It never occurred to me do so...anything I donate I have gathered on my travels or made (meals) by planting and harvesting so currants = imagination doesn't work for me at all.
I've always said any item is only worth what another player is happy to pay. As long as both parties involved in the trade are happy then it's of no consequence how any other player outside of that trade feels about the cost. It's in fact none of their business really.
