Not sure if the recent client update caused this..

But before I was having tons of client lag. Low frame rate, hard-to-walk, the works.
But after the recent update, it's gone. Everything is so much faster! It might even be faster than before the client lag started up!

I'm not sure if this is just me, or if they actually fixed something but either way:
Thank you Tiny Speck. <3

  • mine seems to be just as laggy and even worse in the evenings (in the UK).  My mom experiences the same issues on her laptop.  The main pc used to be brilliant but even that now has visible lag : ( We were talking about it this morning funny enough as it's been like weeks and weeks for me like that now.  It's really ruining my enjoyment and quite often I'll switch off the computer (rather than throw it out of the window lol).

  • I was experiencing horrible lag in the UK this morning, BUT speedtest.com showed me that the problem was huge ping times and low download speeds even within the UK. So the problem had nothing to do with Glitch, it was all related to huge latency in my connection through my ISP. So remember lag in the game does not have to have anything to do with the game itself.

  • I was having very sticky keys, which could be seen in the little qp window. All my key presses were 'being recorded', but one key would stay down way longer than I pressed it. This was in Firefox, so I've switched back to Chrome for now. I just have to reload my browser every half hour or so. It's more laggy, but key presses are accurately recorded.

  • I am getting this too, lifted pixel.  It is agonising!!!
I keep running right across the house or garden or street!!
I only use Firefox, but I do have Chrome, maybe I will try that too.

  • Hawkwell: Yes, it was frame rate lag. I know the difference between the two, being a game developer myself. :p

  • As has been discussed in the bug forum, there are two problems with the game which cause slowness. One is bad client performance (memory consumption, Flash version problems, etc) and the other is network related (lag, or network problems).

TS did try to address the memory consumption and posted about people using Chrome who might have a bad version of Flash. Those improvements should both help client performance (faster interactivity).

As far as lag, assuming that it's not on your local network on your ISP, then all TS can do is add more servers or beef them up. For me, now that I've started playing in Safari instead of Chrome, this is the bigger problem.

Client performance problems make typing drop characters and movement jerky. You can tell lag because movement on a street is fast, but you get spinners when trying to interact with things.

  • I'm not even sure if people are skimming the thread or reading the whole thing but most of you seem to be getting the wrong idea.

I made this post to thank the developers for fixing some lag issues. Not to complain about lag, or look for a solution to it.

I thank those that tried to help but, there's no problem and, for those saying there's lag: post about it in the bug forum. I'm pretty sure they already know about it, though!
