  • I spend more time there than the old one, that's for sure, but I'm not moving the bulk of my stuff there til the dust settles. :)

  • I live half in the test house and half in my old house. I'm in the test house a little more, maybe, but not much more. The majority of my stuff and all of my animals are in the old house.

  • I've moved a lot of my stuff to my test house, but I love my cute little boggy house too much to leave it before I must :(

  • I live solely in my test house I only go over to my old house to feed my piggies and empty my meat collector and milker.. My old house is completely empties out.

  • Me.......the only time I use the old house is to collect from the meat and butterfly collectors.  The gardens are too small for the amount of animals I have : )

  • Everything has been moved to my new /home.  I have even moved my meat collectors and animals.  The only time i go to my old house is to use the garden plot.

  • Yeah, I've been in my test house since they were introduced, only going back to my old house to move stuff. Everything there is dead now..

  • Most of my gear is in my new house now, animals included.  I only grow crops in the new house, brew...just about everything.  I visit the "mansion"  to harvest the trees, and still have some excess food & drinks there.  I'll probably just donate that stuff tho, & only stay in the new one.  I love that I can change things around whenever I want.

  • I really love my test house decor and I don't want to clutter it up, so I'm still spending a lot of time in my old house.  (I know, I know, it's kind of silly...)  My icons are in my old house, and I'm still using the cabinet.

When we can build more rooms (and thus have way more wall space), I will be using the storage/display boxes heavily.  For now, the new house's attic is devoted to pure overflow storage--bigger bags full of mortar barnacles, that kind of thing.  Once we get our proper new houses, much of that stuff will be going to storage/display boxes, and some lucky newcomers will be in for a whole load of free bags!

For now, my animals are in the old yard, but I'm only gardening the new plots.

  • Me too , i find the old houses kind of boring ever since the new ones are out. As I am doing my house over and over again, I don't mind the reset as much.

I just can't wait to pay for things, as we start valuing all that cool stuff more.

  • I'm new to glitch and so I havent bought a house yet. I just won't because of the test houses.

  • That's exactly why I haven't fully moved into my test home, Georgia. I don't want to clutter it up so terribly as it would be if I moved all the stuff in my cabinets to the new place; though I do have some things in my attic. :)  I can't wait for a bigger place with more wall space! I have all these ideas for organizing with the SDB's (and whatever other storage units we get)!
Posted 8 months ago by Little Miss Giggles Subscriber! | Permalink
  • Conversely, I pretty much ignore my new house and will continue to do so until we can actually enlarge it and create storage space. It's too small for my needs, so I just visit occasionally to check things out. And I don't want to move things into SDBs there and just have to move them around again after the reset. My "old" house also has a nice animal pen, which I assume will be a thing of the past once we move and will use the piggy/butterfly/chicken sticks to herd animals instead. Trying to set up animal sticks in the new place would just overcrowd it even more, it seems to me.

  • I do primarily. I have all my available Boxes and Shelves up, shelves full of bags, boxes full of things that don't fit in a reasonable amount of bags.
I haven't moved my pigs, and I won't, because I would potentially lose them in the reset so I will wait and youth-enize them when the time comes.
I haven't moved my Icons yet. But I should. And I will now, actually...

  • I think animals are the only thing you would in fact lose in the reset if you haven't moved them beforehand.  I remember reading a staff post that all of our stuff will in old houses will definitely be transferred to the new house except for animals.  I could be remembering wrong though...

  • I'm with Eleanor Rigby. I live in my old house still. The new one is just too small to hold my bags. I like being able to hide bags and farm crops. I can't really do much of either at the new houses. I use the new one just as a meeting place.

  • I live in test house and home streets. I usually only go out for Ancestral Lands runs, special events, buying stuff, donating, resourc gathering, And growing crops.

  • I pretty much live in my new house.  I still have my animals at my old house, since they won't survive the official switch over.  In fact, I may move my few animals at my new house back to my new one just to be sure they're alright.

Everything I own is at my new house though, because going home is just as easy as a /home away!  I love it!  I don't have to carry all my tools and food and stuff with  me when it is so easy to just pop into my home street from anywhere.  :D  It's awesome.

  • I just sold my bog home yesterday to live full time in my imagination.  Especially since we will be able to expand them likely this week.  Of course, part of my motivation was to get the for sure 80% on the Ur home vice the unknown if we will be compensated and if so, for an unknown amount when the housing reset comes. Also, got tired of having to go back to my Ur home, when I'd just as soon go from imagination home to Ur, and back.  I actually made my current one room into a sort of bog home design, so I am not missing it much...

  • All in my new, did it as soon as I had the time... don't really see the point in using the old one for anything.

  • All my bags of cubis are at my test house, and I have piggies and butterflies set up there for meat and milk as well as herbs constantly growing (probably the one thing I LOVE about the test houses). I'm thinking of moving a few icons there also for quick energy while I'm out and about.

  • Not me. I'm just using the new house for attic storage. I love my bog house with its rocky back yard. I'll stay there as long as possible.

  • Beach Bum: We will get compensated for our houses, so that is not an unknown; that was stated somewhere in the forum by a dev. I believe it was in one of the threads where they were answering lots of questions. They didn't say how or what, though (I am not sure they'd decided precisely how at that point).

I may try to search for that post in a little while.

  • I still live out of my old house. It has a bigger garden,  more trees, and a large cabinet that I still use often.
I've decorated my new house somewhat and go there basically for the herb garden but that's about it. I haven't moved anything over because for me, it doesn't have the space I want to hold my items. The new storage boxes just don't cut it for how I organize.

So, I'm waiting for forced move.

  • I pretty much abandoned my old house. Sold it off quickly.

  • I still use my old house.

I decorated it and only go there if someone needs me to.

Waiting for forced move, just like Eye Wonder.
Posted 8 months ago by Piratice Subscriber! | Permalink
  • Nope.  Since it's just testing still, I don't want to move in, have it all reset, and then have to move again.  Or cause the Devs issues with tracking two sets of my stuff.  Once we get more information on the exact logistics of the final move, I may start arranging things, if it makes sense to.

I have been checking out lots of the decorations and furniture in the test house, and starting learning the new crafting skills.  I'm also using the trees in the street in front of the house and the yard in back of the test house.  I hope it's not a bug or an exploit, but I'm already loving having both crop and herb plots available.

  • Most of my stuff is in the new house. it's a bit of  a warehouse... I only really have storage furniture out, plain walls, so things are easier to find, etc.

Still have a cabinet with some of my hoard in though, and I go back to my old house for meat,  milk & trees

  • I don't like the way the new house looks.  I like my older, original and much larger home.

At the moment it looks like a money grab because the game is taking away large homes and it will cost more money (real and fake) and time to get the same size some players are giving up.  Not cool at all.
Posted 8 months ago by KerryAnn Subscriber! | Permalink
  • I don't think that's the case at all, KerryAnn, The house I currently have is the same size as what's in the test house. It also makes it more accessible for people who want to expand their house without having to haul things or start over with their animals or gardens.
Posted 8 months ago by Gnancy Subscriber! | Permalink
  • Did you have a smaller home in the original game?

I had a large home with 3 levels lots of seed beds etc, the test house I was given was a basic 1 one room players can get now for 4000C.  Its not the same at all, not even near an equal amount of space.
Posted 8 months ago by KerryAnn Subscriber! | Permalink
  • @KerryAnn: Yeah, it will cost more money to get a trilevel home in new housing than just buying one off the market right now, but in new housing, there will be more customization, which is really what most people want. They'd rather have a personalized one roomer rather than a standardized trilevel.

I don't really care either way, but a lot of people do. -le shrug-
Posted 8 months ago by Piratice Subscriber! | Permalink
  • Gnancy: The test house is definitely a lot smaller than most of the more expensive housing in the game right now. It's half the size of mine, and I'm not in the largest house available.

KerryAnn: The way the new house looks right now is not necessarily the way you'll build it to look in the future. There may not even be a house on the land when they officially release the whole system (or maybe we'll still have something like this that we can change completely).

What's there now is just something we can play around with and test until everything is released. So I'd not go off the looks of the new house, but the functions we can use in it (decorating right now, and "soon" land/house expansion in R2), because you'll be able to make a much larger one fitted to exactly how you want it later.

And those are more reasons I won't solely live in the test house I have until things are released in a more official manner. My old house fits my needs better at the moment, while the new one allows me to see what the future holds (albeit tiny bit by tiny bit). I know that the new house will be way more awesome than my old one once everything is said and done.

  • Miss Giggles, That was my thought on the test house, until I realised the advantage of having supplies there - it's always at your disposal without needing to teleport. So no matter where you are, if you're missing an ingredient, you can just go /home and get it.

Enelyse - it is a test house, but our stuff (resources, not furniture) won't be lost when things get moved about again

  • When the new homes came out, I had just bought my "old" house (the 3 story one) probably for a week or so, so to me both of them were "new". Even though the "old" one had a lot more space, I immediately fell in love with the tiny new one because of all the furniture and decor options, and now live in the new one, going occasionally to the old one to harvest the trees there. Having been given both options at about the same time and I guess not having much attachment to the "old" house yet at the time, I have to say I gravitated towards the test houses immediately:)

  • I DO! I moved out of my other house the very first week - I still felt badly, so I did it little by little, and then said "Goodbye" before I left. But I do miss my neighbors (Hoodjack Sacken, where are you anymore?) and their rude garden Gnomes... but they still made me laugh. My virtual street is a little too lonesome, and no one leaves unexpected gifts or notes when I return home.. .sniff, now I feel sadly... and miss the old home again...
