[resolved] Quest progress: "Third Time Really Is the Charm"

In order to complete this quest, you have to have 3 broken tools and fix them completely with a Tinkertool.

My hoe broke twice while working on a Street Project and I repaired it twice. Neither of those repairs (from 0 to 100%) were counted toward this quest. However, repairs that took place while I was not involved in a Street Project worked fine. Would appear to be related to this context.

  • I was able to complete the quest by breaking and repairing a tool in normal activity, so the bug with not recognizing the tinkering activity required for the quest definitely appears to be related to having a Street Project dialog open.

  • Here's a more specific list of the steps (sorry I was a bit vague before):

    1. Have the quest "Third Time Really Is the Charm".
    2. Participate in a street project and contribute work (in this case, with a hoe) until your hoe breaks!
    3. Keeping the street project dialog box open --- because we're all lazy and we don't want to keep clicking and clicking -- go to your tinkertool, repair the hoe, and go right back to contributing to the street project when it's done being repaired.
    4. Meanwhile, that repair should (I think) have counted toward the quest, because it meets the description requirements. But it didn't.

  • Ah. Problem was in the description - you have to repair three unique tools, so if you repair one and then break it on a job and repair it again that doesn't count; gotta repair new ones. I've fixed up the quest copy, sorry for the confusion Lelu, and thanks for the thorough bug report!
