Plowing under a crop/herb

So I have this thing happening where I'll be happily harvesting/hoeing/watering/planting, and realize that I only have 1 or 2 usable squares in a 15 crop garden which is about to need restoring, and I just planted Yellow Crumb Flower in them.  So I have to wait 9 hours (or fertilize and wait 4.5, I think) for those flowers to bloom so I can harvest them and restore the garden and get the other plots back into usable shape.

I would like to be able to plow under the two plots that I planted before the rest of the garden went kaput, so I can get the restoration taken care of!

  • My worry here is that if there is a new verb on a garden plot, it will be dangerous due to the lag and tedium of gardening (hitting enter too many times).

I'm temped to say -1 on that account, but instead I hope that if such a verb gets added, it doesn't ever become the default (even if the square is fully tended).

  • What if the verb only appeared once the garden developed depleted plots? Or was non-functional until then?

<.< If you find gardening laggy and tedious, maybe you shouldn't do it? I don't have lag problems at all, but I also find gardening fun, so....

  • Personally, I think it'd be better if the entire garden depleted at the same time.  That would negate the need to "plow under" non depleted plots in a dying garden and also negate having to wait for a couple long growing plants in the still live areas before renewing.

  • But if the only way to deplete a garden is all at once, you would either have immortal gardens because the owner made sure at least one plot was planted at all times, or the garden would deplete while seeds or plants are still in it, making the owner lose out on the harvest.

  • Given how many times I've planted a seed OTHER than the one I intended… I'd love to have a "plow under" verb available.

It might be best, though, to allow only the person who planted the seed to plow it under. Otherwise the potential for griefing would be substantial.

  • 2x guano makes this a 40 minute or so problem.

  • Still, a 40 minute problem is not inconsequential when you're trying to chase the kids into bed and get a little playtime in between doing other things.  I often pop in for 10 minutes to revere icons and tend gardens and whatnot.  Yes, sometimes that 10 minutes turns into 2 hours.  I can quit anytime I want.
