Pre-Purchased Alakol homes

We had some Alakol homes on the realty listings early, when they were not ready. (The concrete hadn't set, and some of the grout needed to cure longer.) At that time we cancelled the sales and announced we would be refunding the sale and difference of price of repurchasing your old home back. If you had done that, we want to be sure you see our request that you open a ticket for us so we can refund the amounts removed.

Sorry about that!

  • kevbob... when I go to that link, it says that the pre-bought Alakol homes are a known issue and we don't have to report it.   (confused)

  • Scroll down a bit and hit Report a New Issue... the body of the text asks you to if you bought one of the homes : )
(kev-created a circular link... the known issues link bring you here)

  • Can we get a home now, since we were sold one before?  I'd been told I purchased a 50K currant one, but apparently it was a second mistake.  Then my screen wouldn't show realty listings.  By the time it did, all those houses were sold, including the extras added later on.  Couldn't we get a reservation or something, so a house is held for us once we've purchased it?  After all this struggle and wait, and selling my house and buying it back 3 times, it would sure be nice to get one when they are placed on the market for real!

  • Mud, when you get in game, there are two model homes that you can actually walk around - recommend going to them to see which you like better.  the Large Model is in Navran Dissent, the Medium Model is in Stora Rede.

Basically, you get a third/top floor with the 50K home, and more gardening spots.  Also an extra tree patch. There is that awesome lounge chair on the top deck, but since we can't sit on anything in this game, it's a moot item other than just for prettiness sake.  The view is better from the entry deck balcony on the 50K house than in the 30K.  Plus you get the prestige of owning the most expensive house in the game.  And you get two balconies to jump from.

To me the drawbacks to the 50K house...gardening on top deck, trees on the ground level - personally didn't like they were separated. Didn't care for the two separate elevators (ie, to go from ground to top deck (without spinach), I had to take one elevator up, and then switch elevators to get there).

For me the biggest drawback of the 30K home is that the view on the balcony is pretty bland.  Wish I could see more of the landscape...but I have to go into my garden or piggy pen for that.

Otherwise the two are pretty similar, and it really comes down to personal preference.  Tweety and I purchased 30K homes, and I was really wondering what I missed out on until I walked around the Large Model.  Thought maybe for an extra 5K it would have been worth it to change - maybe even 10K, but not really enough different to me for an extra 20K (now it they put in a dark patch in addition to that extra tree patch...yea, that would probably convince me to go with a 50K house - and especially if some of the garden plots were on the ground).

  • b3achy thank-you so much for the great write up..I will check out the model when the game opens back up..I really like my $30,000, but was willing to go the step further if it was worth it,so I will wait and see..Have a great day...

  • YQW Mud...I have to say, while Tweety and I agreed at reset we'd go back to our 30K homes since we do like them so much...but that pretty lounge chair really is starting to call my name.  I think if I knew we'd have more flexibility in our homes with decorating right after reset (like I could move one tree patch to the top floor, and some of the gardening patches to the lower level or I could change a patch to be a dark patch to grow an Eggplant under the house or just basic decorating options of colors, furniture, etc), I might be inclined to go for a 50K house to have more space to be creative.  Since that may still be a ways off...I may just wait on it.

Also mud, at reset we lose it all...move on up now if you are so inclined...so you can see if you like it or don't before the big reset...

  • I thought I'd eventually upgrade to a 50K, but I really like my 30K, honestly.  The only thing I'd change about it is I'd have one closest to the street sign.  I'm furthest away at the moment, and that's a bit of a pain...
