Arrows keys right after travel

Meant to post this during the weekend.

Sometimes, right after a travel, the arrow keys would not start movement. I'd have to click with the mouse.  This happened if the signpost was blue when I landed in the new location.

Using Firefox Beta 4, iMac, OSX 10.5.8

Meant to try the regular firefox and Safari, but had Easter stuff come up and didn't get to it.  Probably a FF-beta-4 problem. Just thought I'd mention it. I plan to try it again during the next beta test. :)

  • I had this too, though I remember a dev saying long ago that it's a problem with Flash rather than the game, I think.

  • This was happening a lot to me yesterday afternoon. And has happened to me in the past. But doesn't seem to consistently happen? (Although I have played on another machine, and maybe I'm remembering wrong, and it does always happen on my usual machine.)

    Safari 5.0.5, MBP, 10.5.8.

FWIW, I can consistently clear it up just by clicking on another tab. I pop over to Skills and then back to the game and it's fine.

  • Usually this happens to me if I jump right before going through the sign post to the other location, but sometimes other times.

I am using FF 3.6.16 MacBook iOS 10.6.7

  • Same here. I have to click on the game "ground" area to get my arrow keys working again.

  • I was having that problem with the WASD  keys and Space bar no longer working when quests would end or the skills window would pop up.

Clare's tab-switching trick worked for me, too. I open or move to another tab, come back, and the keys work again. I figure it's a case of Flash not getting proper focus from within the browser window. Not sure how this could be resolved by the Glitch devs, other than adding some kind of visual indicator when focus is lost, so that you would have to click it in order for Flash to be in the front tab and fully operational.
