➸ Imagining the world of Glitch

I noticed, even with houses and new stuff, this isn't feeling awesome like it should, so here is my idea:

A gate to Heaven and old houses
People miss the old houses, having a house that looks the same to everyone else, it's just not cool, tho, people do enjoy the new "haven houses" so I thought in a way of combining both and give people the best of both worlds, first we need a super gate, something that actually has a physical location in glitch and not just "/home" thing, the gate would work like a door to your house, and it would work for everyone, this would add a physical location in the world and a new gathering place like cerbakul, because lots of people would be using it.
How would expansion work? It would'n, I prefer no expansion in houses at all, I prefer having different types/sizes of houses that we could actually fill them with furniture, holes and ladders. The houses already exist, so, its just a question of adapt the old houses into new ones.

Quests
I believe that most of the quests should be character oriented, like the one in hell where you actually have to go somewhere, meet someone and get your reward. This adds more fun in the game, more special locations, etc. And this special characters/locations could be able to deliver more than one quest, for example hell bartender could do a wine of the dead quest and 5 more related ones, depending on what your want, or what lev you are. We have tons of forgotten characters in game that could have more use this way.

Another example is the crab, its very well made, you can get a music block and also crab juice, it would be cool if you had to give like 100 crab juice to hell bartender for a super reward (just an example).

Gathering places:
With this and because a market place is on the way into the world, we would have a gate to heaven, market place, cerbakul and the bureaucratic hall. I think this kind of places are really important, specially for new ones, that join the game and want to meat new people.

Professions
In my view it's really important to add something that is the main activity in game, so people would not get too bored if their friends are not online or if they are just new in the game, so professions would be a good way to have something to level up and to have some fun with more specialization, prices could be more competitive in the marketplace etc... Also the splash page of the game clearly shows different characters with different professions, so it's probably something dev guys are cooking already?

I didn't had much time to edit this, I'm in a hurry atm, so sorry about that, It's just some ideas I just had and thought it would be nice to share them with devs and you guys. I do like this game and still think it has tons of potential.

p.s. Devs, sorry about introducing the old houses topic again, but I do think it's for the best.

Hugs,
Arizoo

  • Like the quest idea.

Gathering places have pluses and minuses -- they're great socially if your computer can handle them, but on a less powerful computer, crowds are really hard to deal with.

  • When the halls come into being that may help with the meeting places. I'm pretty sure the devs have said no to retaining any of the old housing.

  • This is a great post.  Thank you!

Though, honestly, this should have gone in (and will likely end up in) the Ideas forum.

  • There are some good ideas in here, but I think you should be careful with your wording.  You make it sound like the ways *you* prefer to experience the game are the only valid preferences on the matter.  For example, Just because you prefer no expansions in your yards, doesn't mean that everyone wants it to be that way.

  • Your first bit is confused and not expressed well.  Are you just asking for a physical link between homes and Ur?  Becomes that seems to have no relation to whether or not houses are expandable, which you then go on to claim should follow.  This is just an earlier example of you assuming that your own tastes are universal.  You could add in some elements of old housing but taking away new elements would be a really really bad idea.  Especially things people are already progressing towards or have already accomplished.  And I don't see what you're describing as combing old and new per se; it's more like throwing out almost everything about the new system while leaving in the furniture.

Gathering places: I don't disagree, but think you're not actually proposing anything here.

Quests: while I would like to see more "lore" quests and less grocery lists, your specific request sounds like you want to play a fantasy RPG.

Professions: yeah, fantasy RPG.  This game has skills instead of professions.
