There are some comments to the effect that if people don't want things taken from the front of their house that they are whining and should grow up and it's not against the rules anyway. Underlying those type of comments is the assumption that the person being spoken to is being selfish or greedy in some way.
This is not always the case. I WANT lots of players to come to my street (and I DON'T want to have the devs restrict access to only my friends or whatever). I WANT to leave food and/or drinks and other things out for people to take. I want to have animals/trees that they can harvest from.
I also want to leave out a meat collector or 2, as well as a milk collector, and/or a still. I want others to collect from them. Especially after re-launch and we get new players coming in again. It could be really helpful to a level 4 to have a source of 600 energy gain with no expenditure on their part. That can be really helpful to a lower-level player.
But there is no way in the world that I will be doing these altruistic things if my some of my stuff - like the collectors/feeders - is continually being taken away by others.
If I am going to be the one who is expending MY resources (currants and imagination that I worked for and earned) to "create" the area in front of my home, it needs to stay the way I make it. I'm getting really weary of people saying that I'm being whiny or some kind of crybaby because I think this.
I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one either.
