Sometimes when I am walking my avatar wont stop and will keep going for a bit afterwards. When it stops it doesnt respond to my keyboard for a couple of seconds.
I think this tends to happen because the game didn't sense you releasing your walk button. It tends to happen to me when the focus of the window changes (either something pops up, or I click another window) or sometimes when I try to walk and click at the same time.
Hitting the walk button (in the same direction) usually fixes it.
I've seen this quite often, if the problem is due to lag and not focus you could try these suggestions from a Glitch staffer: alpha.glitch.com/forum/gene...
In that thread it's suggested that the lag isn't a network problem but the game being too slow right now which should improve when more time is spent on optimization and not adding features. The thread comes with suggestions to make the game run faster. I haven't tried these suggestions yet so I can't say if it helps.
For me this happens most of the time due to lag, but it also happened due to loss of focus a few times (after right clicking on the game window for example).
That happened to me, I couldn't stop walking to the left. Even if I'd click it would stop me briefly then keep going back all the way to the left. I finally had to reboot my browser.
+1
I've seen this behaviour a couple times. It didn't occur in the previous test. The direction key will "stick" and the avatar will keep moving left or right and won't stop. Sometimes I'll also lose keyboard or mouse commands. The sure fire fix is to refresh / reload the browser window.
Yes, at times I have observed this behavior. My character keeps moving in one direction and I have to click on some shop or something else to stop him.
The lag was pretty harsh at the end of this test. I had a lot of lagging controls. Since it's alpha they probably don't want to add more servers to balance the load, or their connection isn't as fat as it needs to be.
I experienced this yesterday - 22/05 - where the avatar walks to the end of the screen and responds to jump commands way too late. Kept happening and made it very hard to navigate any levels where one is required to jump!
I also experience this issue frequently. It isn't related to lag, but when the two combine it's a heinous ordeal. I dealt with it a lot on 05/22 as well, but have previously experienced it before...only not as commonly as I did yesterday.
I've experienced this also. However, the method for getting it fixed varies from time to time --- sometimes I just click another area, sometimes I press ctrl or alt, sometimes I walk in the opposite direction. Can't really say that there's a specific "cure".
Haha I had this a few times, tend to be after hitting alt key accidentally. I found buttonmashing(arrow keys and space bar) cleared it up, though I'm sure my keyboard wasnt too happy with that.
