Leveling up is pretty much useless, just with Favor, Mood, and Energy.

How come Leveling up is just giving you Favor, and your Energy and Mood cap raised? I think there should be unlockables when you're leveling up.

Ex: You leveled up to 30, then you can acess some Shirt, shoes, etc, or even Furniture.

I don't find it that Glitch is making enough rewards for Leveling up, but that's just my opinion.

What about yours?

  • Actually, I kind of enjoy that leveling up is ambiguous in it's bonus (mostly it just lets you do certain things longer without refueling).  It puts more emphasis on other parts of the game.

I seem to recall, however, gaining a small currant bonus last 41 times I leveled up, though...

  • Good thing Leveling Up as we know it is going to be gone forever very soon so we do not have to have a long, drawn-out conversation about it.
    Right? Riiiiight?????

  • You only get currants every fifth level after level 20.

And, when you do the math, there really isn't any reward for leveling up.

  • IIRC whenI recently levelled to level 50 I got around 6000 currants which was a nice surprise but the drawback is it now costs more to tithe my icons.

  • Right.

No, then the only real reward is that certain tasks still only take the same amount of energy and mood as before, but you've got a greater store of it on hand, so you can go longer without eating or drinking.  Which, I have definitely noticed!

The nice thing about that is that even when I'm dead broke most of the time (which I am, because I play that way), I still have no compunction about giving my food and drinks away to lower level players, because I really don't need them.  But, the icons help with that, too, which is often why I'm broke...

Again, I personally think it's a nice balance.  There are more important things to do than level, really.

  • I love my expanded energy reserve!  I can't remember now how I ever got anything done with the tiny energy tank we started with.  I think it's a great perk to leveling!

Hm.  Pretty sure I got a lot more than that when I leveled up to 50 just now.

  • I actually enjoy the fact that levels don't matter in this game. There so much more to do, why spend all my time just trying to level up?

  • Why something unlocked? Pretty much ALL game do that! That's what makes Glitch special! ( e.g. Almost ALL Facebook games unlock something when you level up).

  • That's what Skills are for. I like that they don't unlock by level. Because then, the players won't quit halfway because they can't do what the 60s can do. With Skills, anyone can learn equally with no advantage over one another. And it lets you choose what you want!

  • Nuh, it sounds more like you want subscriber stuff unlocked for free by leveling, like shirts etc, furniture upgrades and so on.
I personaly think that subsribers need some perks and would be pissed if you got upgrades free for leveling.

  • Hrm? I'm just saying that most items (Suscriber or Non-Suscriber) should all have a Level Requirement, but since the Levels are going away and Imaagination is gonna replace it, I guess it won't matter. Also, there should be some other reward than a Cap Raise for XP/Mood, Favor or Currants.

  • We will still levels, stoot said lvel 60 would go back to level 40 after the big change to imagination. And I totally disagree with unlockable stuff on leveling.

  • I don't understand why items should have a level requirement.  Using and making items is more related to what skills you need to use them.  Just because Gary Gygax did it that way 50 years ago, doesn't mean TS has to do it that way now.

Or are you just looking for a visible badge that lets everyone know what level you are?

If that's the case, then I'm against it. I really like the way that your Glitch looks like every other Glitch, and people have to go to your profile page to find out what level you are and what skills you have and what badges you've earned.

  • It's not just the enery cap that is increased as you level. You also have to take into account that your larger energy tank means you get more free energy with every new game day. I cherish this! Many folks take this for granted, methinks. Imagine that we did not get refilled every game day....

  • Agreed with MaryLiLamb!

I feel like people who want material items for leveling up are those who want to wave a flag saying "Look at me look how far I've gotten I'm awesome!" and that's just not cool.

  • I know the "Levels" are going to disappear, but be converted to "imagination." I had always hoped that we would get a new quest at each level...sometimes it's a long time between quests with some skills taking several days to learn...

    Just a thought!

  • Guys the levels are not going to disappear :) The word used was De-emphasized. They won't be gone, they'll just be a lot less important ;) And it's really quite impossible to speculate any further than that unless you've got inside info :)

  • Now they have skills, and they also have money that you get, so its not ENTIRLY unuseful
