  • Ummm no, it cost in energy and my personal time to gather items to make what I sell, on top of auction fees, i am not going to sell so low as to have no profit margin on what I auction off

  • This is a very nice idea but it will mostly end up profiting the players who run an auction sniper and resell to the tool vendor at a profit, not other consumer-level glitches.  Also, although the auction prices are sometimes ridiculously inflated, many items sell there for less than cost.  (Selling shrine powders, for example, pays far less than just selling sparkly ore to a vendor.)   And for lower-level players the energy cost of collection means they have to sell higher to break even.   I prefer to make in-world trades, or even sales, where each party crafts what we enjoy and make what we feel is a fair excange.

  • Funny read! But... don't people already do this? It's called undercutting. And I know people who price their goods at 100-200c below the lowest visible price (LVP).

  • Here's what will happen: Your goods will be sniped by users standing beside the tool vendor in Cerbukal running automatic scripts seconds after they are posted. These traders will take advantage of the difference in prices and make a tidy profit.

None of the people you're trying to help will actually benefit from the lowered prices, and you would've wasted your time and energy. Adam Smith's invisible hand would've given you two splanks in the face - one for been naive enough to think that Glitch somehow disproves economic models, and the other for believing that doing charity through this will actually benefit anyone.

  • Why are users allowed to stand by the tool vendor in Cerbukal running automatic scripts?  Can we run scripts totally un-controlled?  Why are some scripts okay and other scripts not okay?

Why can't I run a mining bot, or a bot that harvests from my harvesters and milkers and automatically produces food to list at the auction?

  • @Parrow It doesn't break the ToS unlike what you are suggesting because the script does not actually interact with the game proper, rather the auction sub-system which your player avatar doesn't actually interact with (unlike mining or collection, which to control automatically would actually break the ToS).

The player will still need to collect the items from the mailbox or interact with the frog, then manually sell the items. Stoot's reaction to the script itself is positive. And you have to remember the script is never intended to be used for this - for this to actually be profitable in any way (I don't believe it is currently), you'd have to have a significant number of people selling a significant number of goods below the 80% vendor price (meaning they are taking a very big loss considering the 8.5% commission for selling on auction)

  • Well, the script doesn't sell to the vendor, it just buys off the auction house - which isn't something that your glitch actually interacts with, or something you need to be in-game to use.  I don't think there are any existing scripts to perform actions for your glitch.  (Your harvesters and milkers are already in-world items that automatically do produce food for you to list at the auction.)

  • how is this "Occupy" anything?  Sounds like capitalism to me.  Competitive selling is the nature of free enterprise.

Shouldn't you "occupiers" be giving your stuff away?

    ooh and BOOM! Headshot.
