Yard furniture - Or a park?

I would really enjoy being able to craft fountains, gazebos, benches and ponds for my yards. The street particularly.

Or maybe even a nice public park like Central Park with a Zoo (heh).  Just a little eye-candy for us glitches who want to see a Rook up live and personal but caged!! and I've heard Yeti's exist, but have not seen one. A petting zoo with a dust bunny and squids, perhaps a mail frog in its native habitat?

Maybe a wishing well with "surprise" gifts similar to the spin game.

ooh, and a drinking fountain or sprinkler pad.   (sigh) A Zooo can dream eh?

  • Honestly I was thinking of making this suggestion myself so +2.  One for me agreeing..and one more for the fact that I was thinking of the same idea :P.

My only caveat..I'd love to be able to make the 'floating land' you find all over Ur.

  • I don't know if you'd want gazebos though; someone might try to attack the gazebo.

  • Don't forget the hot tubs, pools, palm trees, decks, and hammocks for our backyards...and pink flamingos, more varieties of gnomes, tree swings, and just decorative flowers like in Groddle Meadow for our yards.

+1 for gazebos, fountains, benches, ponds, sprinklers, etc.

  • I wonder what the glitch version of a pink flamingo would be?

  • I would love this too.  We were just talking about ideas to create some strong geographic magnets or incentives to hang out in particular places. Cebarkul is good, but there could be more! and we will need more once there are tons of new players.

Possible incentives/benefits to social hangout spaces:

    - park furniture
    - group effects, so that a TR or blessing of a giant is worth more, the more people are present
    - permanent rainbow or antigravity spot
    - wishing well (throw in a low value object, get back a random but approx equal value object)
    - a stage for performance (some sort of karaoke... with a crab MC)
    - a spa or hot springs -- a place to hang out where you don't lose energy or mood (or lose it much slower)

  • I guess my point here is that I love the world map, and I also love the routes!  I hear how people miss their house neighbors and want more "social space" in the game.  Cebarkul's good prices and good location made it a hangout spot. Then it became the spot to die in, too.

That's fabulous and helps people feel a sense of place and rootedness -- it encourages a sense of attachment to a specific location in the game.   I would love to see more of those places -- that not only have great scenery and some useful resources but that have a particular reason to be there.

Fox brushing is good and cooperative and encourages grouping. But it isn't really a relaxing hangout.

  • +1 on the wishing well idea and a spa where you got no energy/mood drain, but could just hang out and chat! And I'd really love to see a player to player market place to gather in. I am not sure what the mechanics would be to prevent lag, but I'm sure something could be figured out!

  • My favorite space in the game is the museum in the tower..... I wish we could visit it when not on a quest.....
