I haven't played for 8 months. Wow! Changes!

I have a lot of money, a whole mess of "imagination" (new to me), and a lot of credits...

Should I start someplace in particular?  I was looking around my new home and buying up some expansions.  Is there a good rewarding path I should take?

8 months is a long time, and from my memory, I was obsessed with donating to gods on a regular basis to pump up my learning speed to learn new skills and such.  I'd populated entire zones with pigs.  It was a golden age.  Well, a golden age of bacon.

  • Welcome back!

I'd suggest spending your imagination on upgrade cards (you can find 'em in your 'img' menu next to your face in the top left of the game screen) to bring your skills up to snuff, since there have been some changes there. Imagination is pretty easy to generate as well--even by exploring some of the new areas that appeared while you've been away, you'll get Qurazy Quoins on each new street you visit (and sometimes randomly on old ones, too). And quoin multiplier cards in your uprade deck are pure gold.

There are some great FAQs in the 'help' section about imagination, the new housing, and furniture making that'll help in part to bring you up to speed. www.glitch.com/help/

You can certainly keep up with your donation obsession and speed up your learning...unless you've learned everything, in which case, it's still a great way to generate imagination.

And definitely do some exploring--the new regions, the abandoned apartment towers, the new seam streets, and perhaps do some wandering through home streets too! There are a bunch of player-developed resource networks up and running for harvesting resources and creative endeavours too. And don't forget to visit our new friends, the sloths and foxes.

This is a nutshell of the latest; I'm sure others will provide more practical suggestions, but I do hope you enjoy exploring all the latest and greatest. :)

ETA: you might also want to visit the vanity and check out some of the new facial features in case you're up for changing your look. And then there's the new metal and wood machines, new implements for constructing furniture, spinning fibre...ack. So much.

So maybe to start, check out your img deck and go for a little wander, then start inundating your friends with questions about the stuff that piques your interest! :D

  • May I suggest that you don't spend too much of your imagination on your house, and focus on your yard and a tower instead?  That is where the real action is!

  • Even if you finished learning all the skills 8 months ago, I believe that there should still be a few new skills to learn and for you to donate your heart out for! But I agree that upgrade cards are a good place to spend iMG initially. If you expand your front yard (and/or tower) and attract visitors, you can earn iMG from their actions, whereas your backyard is not publicly accessible. In the tower, you can sell things, which can help attract visitors and earn currants as well.

  • @Jewel Stoned--The house is just a building project, no iMG needed to spend there.

@Snarkbuut--Aside from doing stuff in your /home there's also new areas with foxes and sloths.  While maybe not a "rewarding" path  they're certainly worth a look!

iMG from visitors isn't too huge 2k-3k so whatever you do in your front yard make sure you're getting maximum enjoyment from it.

Also, don't worry about spending all your iMG. Just as easily as you donated to speed skills you can donate now to buy ALL the cards.

if i might piggyback a little - did gem drops change? i've been mining, but getting no gems. on the other hand, i harvested a cherry tree and got a gem.

  • @eatpaste
You have to get 3 upgrade cards to increase the rate that you get gems back up to what it used to be.  Keep re-shuffling and it'll pop up sometime.

  • My one bit of advice here is this: buy ALL quoin multiplier upgrade cards.  The max multiplier is 100x and is soooo totally worth it.  I would definitely place these cards as priority over all others until you reach the max.  Have fun! :D

  • focus on expanding and filling your backyard and frontyard, and then spend the rest img for upgrade cards. I myself left the quoin and energy upgrade cards for later when I have no upgrades I want upgraded.

  • @ M<3tra, Unless I'm mistaken, doesn't the tower have an initial iMG cost and lvl cap of 18, right when you build it? Then after that, you're right, just materials..

  • The tower does have an initial iMG cost. Not sure what the level cap is. The house does not have an iMG cost, though.
