New Feats, collaborative backstory and you!

We love making Feats. They are fun to design, build, and then let loose on Ur. We watch the completion percentages climb upwards, grinning as you steadily progress through the challenges.

We don't want to have all the fun! So, we want to hear your ideas for the kind of Feats you would like to see. Post your ideas in this thread and give +1s to the ideas you like (please limit yourselves to a single +1, so we can do an accurate count). Create the whole thing: the name, the hint/blurb shown before the Feat begins, the legend/backstory behind it, the goal to be accomplished and any other detail you can think of.

We'll shortlist the most popular (and feasible) proposals and put them up for a vote by subscribers (using the votes they get each month). The ones that top that ballot will be put into the game.

Let the Feat ideas flow!

  • Shameless plug for visiting my yard--> Something requiring lots of bubbles! ;)

No, seriously, though, how about something that requires...
...a certain length of time riding subways?
    ...building some kind of furniture?
...using Levitation for a certain amount of time (or certain number of times)?
...petting and watering a certain number of unique trees in Ur?

I'll add more as I think of them.

  • I win that one just about every day.

  • Yes, eric!

    Also, party feat!
    Crashing 10k people!
GOC FEATTTT. Though how this would be measured would need thinking. Seconds with crown? Number of games? Length of game? I would say movement in game. Something that doesn't encourage bad sportsmanship (ie alts), etc.
    iMG earning!
    Tree planting!
    Restoration!
    SLOTH TENDING
    Beansneezing/farting.
Selling to vendors! The story of the greedy little vendor.
    Buying stuff!
    Furniture crafting!
Metal crafting. The legend of the bar wrangler.

  • Changing outfit/appearance feat:

    The Wardrobe Malfunction of Florabindy.

Before the giants could remember, there were naked Glitchen, and after that there were clothed Glitchen...

Florabindy of Burnabee of yore could never find the right shoes to fit with her puce coloured ra-ra skirt, or her cubimal covered hats. So she spent her time in her expansive wardrobe, trying on every combination till something looked just right, or just so wrong that it was deemed right. In fact she spent so long in the wardrobe that she found a construction tool and some snails, and fashioned the entire wardobe into a furniture themed ensemble...which she changed to a ice-cube covered body stocking five minutes later, because furniture theme was so 5 minutes ago. In fact, that day she changed her appearance (1009997 Bonus/ 2157913 SuperMega Bonus) times and still had nothing to wear..

Help commemorate her constantly changing attire by wearing lots of looks for the feat.

Juju dodging feat, or trap triggerer.
    Animal naming feat.

  • Mab got drunk one day and went crazy squeezing chickens. In order to recreate her brilliant, feather-flying rumpus, we must squeeze x amount of chickens until their chicken pockets are empty. Chickens around Ur must know the lightness of being that results from lacking grain!

  • Hmm... something about mass cubimal racing?
Posted 58 days ago by Georgia Subscriber! | Permalink
  • something like this.....

it was a time of great turmoil. the giants had tried to expand their world with too many glitchen and failed. those existing glitchen were upset at this oversight and there was disputes as well as rumors of revolt. So ______ invented the high-five, a way to show solidarity between the glitchen. Many glitchen high-fived each other as a way of saying "we are in this together! let's stay here and see what happens. this is a good place to be. I'm not ready to revolt yet". The community strengthened and moved on from the failed expansion.

I hope this is a good idea. tried to come up with something that tied in recent events with backstory and make it work.

My idea: How about a feat for X seconds of Radiation?
Posted 58 days ago by Fernstream Subscriber! | Permalink
  • bored no more: that was basically how the conch feat worked, and that annoyed people a bit.

My idea: spreading butterflies (or chickens, or pigs, but butterflies seems cooler to me). Technically, it does rely on having a particular skill, but only in getting the eggs and hatching(I think; is Animal Husbandry required for hatching?). And considering the bubbles required to mass-produce the eggs, as well as to feed them, it might be in the interests of those who can make eggs to sell them off instead of directly participating.

  • That last feast feat should have been a real feast.  Either eating as much as you can, or eating as many different types of food and drink as possible in 1 game day.

  • Spreading Our Care.

Back then, Ur didn't have color. It was all dull and plain, and all the glitchens were mean. The giants decided to spread a light over ur to make the glitchens happy. Once happy, the glitchens worked together to make color and paint UR. they spreaded random kindness, hugs, kisses, and more. Thus, Ur was colorful and the glitchens were kind.

Goal: Spread around Random kindness. spread it around until we hit 10,000,000.

  • Cherry Poppin Spriggots: A 10 Part Epic Feat to be attempted one day a week for 10 weeks running.

Goal: Pay homage to the early Spriggots by creating and donating to Shrines 1,114,553 of each fruit.

    Week 1: Plums

On the 11th Day Spriggan Imagined the Fruit Tree. The Glitchen looked upon the Fruit Tree and said "yum". But by Day 13 they were sick of Cherries, cherries and more cherries and asked "Spriggan is there some other fruit tree we may nommeth from?"

Spriggan shook his antlers and bellowed "No! Do you think all fruit grows on Trees? Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed, Glitchen can change the world".

That night, each and every Spriggot had the same exact dream, of a wondrous new contraption that could trantsform cherries into a delicious variety of new fruits.

The next morning The Spriggots gathered and after some experimental tinkering were able to recreate the magical mechanism from their Collective Dream, The Fruit Changing Machine.

    +++++

Each week would be a different fruit, and the fruit selected would not be known until the Feat began. So while people could attempt to gather/buy Cherries in advance, there would still have to be a ton of changing going on to contribute. Or it could actually be 10 feats right in a row.

ETA: 10 in a row would be SUPER EPIC and would give people in all times zones a chance to participate.

  • Lem, the giant of exploration "responsible for travel, directions and knowledge", is trying to imagine a subway system that covers more regions. Ur  has grown so large since the subway was first imagined. Lem thinks that some baby glitches land in regions without subways and have a hard time getting around UR. (Do they always land in regions with Halls? idk)  But he needs his fellow giants to help expand the system. Lots of different materials donated to their various shrines will be needed: food, wall segments, metal, etc. Tii can do  the math.

  • Who imagined the cubimals?

The birth of the cubimals - N cubimals must be brought into the world.

The pilgrimage of the cubimals.  Race enough cubimals, collectively, to go to the moon (or something) and back in planks.   Or perhaps some number of planks on every street in Ur, without telling anyone the plank count on the streets, so that you have to just keep visiting streets and racing cubimals until the feat is accomplished.

    The freeing of the cubimals.

  • The Joy and Magnanimitiousness of Renigald Titterwinkle

Renigald Titterwinkle was a happy go lucky young Glitch in an ancient age of the Giants. Although roundly smiled upon (and occassionally snickered at), he had a reputation amongst the elder Glitchen for engaging in just a tad more good-natured shennanigans and tomfoolery than was considered strictly respectable for a Glitch of his upbringing. It was in fact true that Renigald spent more time with his slightly oversized head in the imaginary clouds of Ur than with his impossibly small feet planted in front of a shrine, but therein lay his charm, as it were.

"Imagination to rebuild the world! Imagination to protect us from the Rook! But our imaginations can bring lighthearted joy as well! Surely the Giants intended us to simply enjoy this fascinatingly, fun frivolity with our friends!" (Renigald, you see, had a preposterously poor penchant for puns and plays on words).

So the young Glitch determined to share his love of the lighter side of imagination with Glitchen far and wide by visiting their homes and leaving notes and gifts with their butlers. Just for the fun of it and to make them smile.

And so he did. 126,478 times.

Because of Renigald's joyousness and generosity there was much smiling indeed that Widdershins. The Giants all approved of the happiness which Renigald had used his imagination to bring and Friendly was even heard to snicker a bit and mumble "good on him" when he thought nobody else was listening. Which of course, they always were.

Recreate the feat by leaving gifts or messages with xxx,xxx unique friends and strangers around Ur.

  • Non-Toxic Moon

When Glitchen first set foot on the Moon it not the Toxic Playground we know today. Enchanted and inspired by the Moon's weaker gravitational pull, a young Glitch named Moony McUfo began to experiment. Moony's hope was to create a tasty beverage that not only went down easy but also allowed Glitchen to easily go up, up up!

Moony's experiments, though well-intentioned, did not go well at first and the botched barrels of failing fluids resulted in the Moon's toxicity. After millions of fruitless attempts Moony finally decided to add Fruit. Moony tried all of the Tree fruits to no avail. Despondent, on the verge of admitting defeat, Moony's eye fell upon The Pumpkin. That, my friends, is when Moony hit the Snail on the head. The result, as you have guessed, is the ambrosial Pumpkin Ale.

Beg, borrow, craft or steal (then imbibe) 1,080,803 Pumpkin Ales and Moonwalk like you mean it.

Reaching the Goal might: Unlock Non-Toxic Moon, a Moon-like low-gravity seam street between somewhere and elsewhere.

    or

Reaching the Goal might: Unlock Moonuna, a moon-like low-gravity Region where players can use iMG to create resources (any resources you can currently create on Homestreets/backyards) (ETA: on the series of floating platforms that randomly rise and fall as well as on the ground) Any player can harvest, any players can trantsform, change resources etc.

+1 to eating different foods or drinking different drinks in a game day. A simple eating feat punishes low-energy tank players.

    +1 to cook/donate to shrines

Zilloween feat - pumpkin carving contest, who can carve and light the most pumpkins

Changing epic - day 1 gassify, day 2 fruit change, day 3 bubble tune, day 4 spice change

Rook feat - start continual rook attacks, with each one starting after the previous is defeated.  As a team, we must defeat enough rook attacks to accomplish the Feat.  Leaderboard is the amount of stuff thrown into shrines to damage the rook.

  • I was thinking just the other day that we should have a random kindness feat where we shower other Glitches with rainbows of happiness. Glitch is meant to be a happy place.

+1 also to the subway riding idea
    Other ideas include:
cooking feat; furniture donation (i.e. the Great Yard Sale feat); a bubble feat; a peat bog feat (named For Peat's Sake); something with rock, paper, and scissors-except we don't have scissors in this game so maybe the Tinkertool since it looks like scissors a bit; or Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Snailor-in this you would have to use your Tinkertool __number of times AND also acquire an amount of fabric AND an amount of guano AND a number of snails
These are my ideas but I don't have any thoughts about back stories. Any help with that fellow Glitchizens?
