Around the Glitch-world in 80 streets(ish)

Spoken to a couple of people about this and it seems like theres a bit of interest so I thought I would stick it up on the forum for discussion.

I thought it would be a good idea to have a Big Bad Race around the world.  Heres the idea and rules.

There will be a starting point announced and a time and all racers would gather at the starting point where an official would take a note of their name so we know they are playing.  On the shout of.....eerrrmmmm lets think...."GO" the official will shout out the name of a location for everyone to rush to.  At this location - players are required to Splank the official who will tell them the name of the third location.  At the third, its mooning the official time who will then tell them the final location for a mad dash.  Winner is the first person to appear at that location - as judged by the final official.

You can work as teams - you can TP if you want (because we cant stop you!) but multiple locations limits the benefits of the old teleporting magic.  Did think about collecting objects but the old "too difficult" light came on.

Prize is either a night out with the new Bobbie-apple or perhaps the Devs might donate something truly worthwhile like a big bag of magic! (I'm sure it will be worthwhile though!)

Welcome comments - but in the words of my first boss - "don't come to me with problems - come to me with solutions."

Love and light
B Apple.

  • Sounds like a hoot, Bob :D I'll have to think on whether to enter or not...may depend on what I'm messing about with at the time...such a fun idea!

  • sounds cool, although computer performance and network connection speed will have a large impact on player speed.

  • Sounds like a very fun activity, hope you get a lot of participants.

  • I love this!
There is the part of me that wants to come up with more "rules" to make sure there is no "cheating." But whatever. If you can't trust a Glitch, who can you trust?

  • Well I tried to think of some rule as detailed and thats prob as far as i'll go - like you said LB there will always be someone who wants to cheat but actually its just fun at the end of the day so thats up to them.

  • Great idea! How many stops total are you thinking? I guess you could have one or two in each world area. Perhaps the official in each area could give an item to the first player to splank/moon/kiss him or her. One winner could be the person who gets to the end area first, but another winner could be the person who collects the most items. I suppose it would be hard to have items that can't be duplicated. Notes perhaps? (it's been a while since I looked at one, do they have the author's signature on them?)

  • I would love a race around the world! :)  Glitch-rallies sound like fun!

And i think we need a no-clothes subway ride, too, on no-pants subway day.

  • Sounds like fun! As long as there are no shiny things along the way. "I'm in a race...oh look...squirrel!"

  • I do think what stri said should be taken note of - "computer performance and network connection speed will have a large impact on player speed." Very true, and whIile the race sounds like lots of fun, it wouldn't really be very fair :/

  • @ Bob Apple sounds like a whole lot of silliness..i'm all for silliness. Who cares if I get a flash crash half way round or freeze up and need to reload. I'm just gona have to run faster as soon as i'm back on line. It's fun after all not the Olympics ;)

  • @sunny   Squirrel...   ROFL     I resemble that remark

Does sound like silliness...  But remember:  it's not the destination, it's the JOURNEY!!
I can see the glitches now..  "outa-my-way"

whoever is tagged to be the "splanked" and the "Mooned"  GL with that

I don't understand how teams would work.  Strategically set your team in random places then just communicate with each other?  somehow seems to take the 'fun' out of it.

  • Well all thanks for the input and 100% as the lovely Misha rightly says Silliness is the name of the game here - not seriousness - in fact if i find anyone taking this seriously then I shall set the squirrels on them.

  • How about officials along the way who give you certain items before you can proceed? Or a task to do in that area - eg harvest 3 bean trees, then return to the official for the next location?

  • I love this idea, I'm in...

  • I like this ! Maybe at the beginning or at end of race, everyone can do those group activities like harvesting barnacles or digging at the same time. That way they will have fun taking part in project too.

  • The collecting of items is one i really like but does throw up a load of logistical problems as items can be bought easily or players may already have them................but...............i'm always up for a challenge!
Posted 20 months ago by Bob Apple Subscriber! | Permalink
  • How are you going to know the items where collect?   Just a thought
Posted 20 months ago by Mystbecky Subscriber! | Permalink
  • Thats why i'm not doing it with items Myst - too hard light came on!
