c1.glitch.bz is requesting permission to store information on your computer

up to 1MB

Can I ask why, what information do you want to store and how long are you planing on keeping it for. Also does it make any difference to performance if I deny :)

  • If I click on Allow nothing happens - I am unable to 'enter the world'.

  • That happened to me with Chrome browser, I ended up closing my browser entirely and restarting and then it went away.

  • Misha, something changed in Flash 10.3 and now permission needs to be explicitly granted (in some cases) for local storage.

The storage is used in a way similar to your browser cache: storing local information about you or for the last browser you used. In this case it is mostly the chat logs from your current/last session show we can show them when you load the game in the same browser. They stay for a variable length of time, depending how much chat you have going on when you play since we only store a fixed number of chat lines.

I think everything should work if you deny the permission (but it is just storing data locally, not doing anything "funny").

  • Stoot, I can't do anything with the Flash dialogue box, I can't deny or allow it, nothing happens - therefore I can't enter the world!

  • Emu, this should be better right now. Please report back. I will have a more through solution tomorrow.

Do you log in with more than one character on this computer?

  • Stoot - My husband uses Opera (10.63) and he is having the same problem as Emu, when the Flash dialogue box comes up you can't click on anything, so you can't choose to allow or not, you just can't enter the world. You can look at forums & wardrobe, but can't enter the world. Is this an issue that can be dealt with or does he have to switch from Opera to ano browser? Thanks for any help you guys can provide.

  • Gizmospooky- Flash is sort of broken in some instances like this, but Emu upgraded to the most recent version and then was successful from the report in the Bugs forum. Can he try that first?

  • Thanks Kevbob, I upgraded to the newest version of Flash (he thought he had already done so) and now he can get into the game w/out problem. Thanks so much for you help as always.

Edited after testing that flash upgrade worked.

  • This is likely also due to changes I made which should suppress that dialog from coming up in most cases (except when you have told Flash to Ask you when memory is requested).

We don't really support Opera because Opera has a lot of inconsistent or missing functionality that makes the game a poor experience.

  • That's interesting Jono.  I much prefer using Chrome, I'll use Firefox if I have to, but, about 80% of the time Opera is the only browser that lets me play Glitch.  Firefox will often only let me do one or two things before it freezes and I have to reload .  And I'm talking pet a tree, water a tree, freeze.  Lately Chrome won't even load.  It will start to load the location I am/was at, get about 80% loaded and stall.  I haven't experienced any problems with Opera that I haven't had with the other two browsers.  Often much more frequently.
