I went to Ix just awhile ago to harvest some gas plants. There are none left, it is all Spice trees. Environmental disaster, I call it. Seriously, how is one to harvest vapour now?
This is an old argument that nobody will win. Hence the tree wars. One day it is all spice, one day it is all spice but one or two gas, one day it is half and half.. rinse and repeat. I would suggest finding the old threads and contributing to them if you like as this subject is as old as grandma's chest.
I love having that one area with a bazillion spice plants . . . especially since two of the streets are named East Spice and West Spice, it makes sense. I have a teleportation point set there for just that reason, and I'm sure I'm not the only one.
I have a gas plant at my house, but if I need to get a bunch at one time, this is a handy web site: http://glitch.alwaysdata.net/. You can find where the highest concentrations of anything are. It's not quite the solution you wanted, but I hope you'll find it helpful anyway :)
I may be showing my complete ignorance here, but when I explored Ix for the first time I noticed that one half of Ix was all spice, and the other half was practically all gas. I though this was cool. I knew where to go for gas and spice.
Why can't we keep it that way? The two halves of Ix have a nice aesthetic contrast going, and keeping the gas in one half and the spice in the other furthers that contrast, and was one of the reasons I fell in love with Ix in the first place.
Please, I implore the community, bring gas back to the left half of Ix and end the tree wars!
Spice is needed for food, which everyone needs on a basic level. Gas is needed mostly for high level products, and exotic things that not everyone needs. Thus, people who haven't explored the more varied side of Glitch will assume that gas is worthless and only spice matters. They are the ones that are insisting Ix be only spice. Just wait until street/group projects open up and 100,000 gas is needed all at once... then things will change... I've seen it happen before, and it will happen again...
ya haven't really been playing a long time, but spice is more of a necessity than gas. I think all the resources should be put out evenly, or make pockets of them maybe two or three strees with nothing but those.
For most of the time I've been playing, the rule has been that the east half of Ix stays all Spice and any attempts to change this have been quickly suppressed. The west half has usually been mixed.
I think there are far more players who will keep the Spice trees in the east half than will try to maintain the ones that someone has planted in the west half.
Nice answer WalruZ! I too find many gas plants there so I don't know what the issue is other than some are just not willing to explore enough to find what they want or need!
Maybe all the trees in Ix should be replaced with Paper Trees. That would be awesome to see happen
On a side note, I don't understand the defense of "wait until Street Projects" when SProjects can ask for almost everything in the game. There is very few things to do with Gas, and instead Spice does a lot of foods. Also, all south-west continent is full of Gas Trees and like 9 Spice Trees, why must we have an overkill of Gas Trees in Ix? Of course, one or two on a street don't harm anyone... but don't defend that all Ix must be gas xD At least leave West and East Spice, it is like if I placed a Humbaba Icon in Tii Street...
Maybe beta vets will know things I don't and we are all mistaken to have spice at Ix, dunno xP
Heck maybe even paper trees! Of course the wood trees would not stick around for long.. heck they would be down and replanted with spice or gas trees at a blink of an eye! Wood trees need to be nurtured heaps... otherwise players choose the "cut and clear" option.
Every tree seed except the gas plant seed are created with some form of gas as one of the ingredients..that includes the spice trees. But in order to create a Gas seed you also need a spice as part of the ingredients for that seed. .Also while the gas plant seed doesnt need gas in its creation of a gas tree seed it does need bubbles and bubble tree seeds are dependant on gas...course you also need a bean tree for the bean to turn into a seed which is dependant on a gas(and I think a spice too)...The trees seem to all be interconnected with one another...You need ingredients from one to form anothers seed...Spice/Gas plays a part in some of the ingredients as do cherry trees cause you need the fruit to convert to another fruit...So these tree wars are prety ridiculous...If this keeps up and if one species is wiped out it would cause a cascade effect that would eventually affect all the trees...
So take away the gas trees and you cant have spice tree seeds..Take away the spice trees and you cant have gas tree seeds.
Only tree that is exempt from all this and we cant get seeds for it...Paper trees.
I belive both gas and spice are necessary for the different eggs that can be created too...Everything seems to depend on everything else....Think about that the next time you decide to poison a bunch of "........." trees to plant what you want...In these tree wars someone is going to go to far then we will all loose.
Ix has a subway stop....Kalavana doesn't.
Ix is also fast to walk to from the forest. Where as Kalavana is a subway stop and several streets.
So the position that Kalavana is just as good as Ix...it's not.
Also, not everyone eats. At some point the large energy pool, lower energy usage from higher skills, mediation, and no-no powder....food bag stays home most days.
Not that I use gas either but the point that spice is fundamental for all glitchies is also false.
Well tbh that is why I have both gas and spice trees in my house and many other players do to.. the chance of completely "wiping" any one tree out of the game is really a moot point Just Me. It will never happen unless the Giants farts or sneezes and wipes all the trees out in Ur. That would be interesting actually......
Given that there are apparently 30+ more gas plants in the game than spice plants, maybe the people wanting Ix to be mostly spice have a point. Kalavana is almost 100% gas plants. If you are high enough level to have a use for the gas, you are high enough level to teleport in or walk a few streets to get to the gas bonanza without wiping out all the spice in Ix.
It changes heaps gamecharacter! You can have one number then in an hour another number.. depends on how well the wars of the trees are waging! For example, in Ix I can see nothing but spice on every street except the one paper tree that always seems to be there.. maybe a gas in now and again.. an hour later boom you will see many spice trees that have been replaced by gas. It's ever changing! I have even gone to Kalavana and see players actively killing out the gas trees and replacing them with spice. It changes often.
I said "usually" Casombra Amberrose. This is what I observed from Zog's tools. Apart from when mass poisoning happens, usually their number is roughly around +/- 10 range from each other. And when their number do differs a lot it is highly unlikely that it will stay that way for long.
Actually the impact of tree wars especially gas vs. spice is only readily noticeable in Ix where spice dominates most of the time. Spice lovers don't really care about other areas like the Bog probably because it's a pain to hold ground with that many streets.
Hm... how about we start some sort of "revolution", to see how would it fare? Also it may be fun and some sort of "street project" : )
It is simple: erradicate all Spice trees from Ix and all Gas trees from south-west continent. Then, plant Gas trees in all Ix and Spice trees in all south-west continent.
Then it is all a matter of gathering people reactions. To me it is ok either way, I got a Teleport point at Koulato Cluster so... even if I see more uses to Spice than Gas, I don't really care where I should go to get one thing or the other.
@gamecharacter: "I don't know where you get the 30+ number."
From DriveSafe's post upthread. However, I just gave it a quick glance; the difference is more like approximately 25 more gas plants than spice on his example list.
Also, as noted, this is a very flexible number and with tree wars raging, it is likely to change regularly.

Revolutions in Glitch have zero traction, unless you mean it to be more like a geometric revolution, 360 degrees, where everything goes back to the earlier state within 24 hours. I live in Kalavana, and never know if it will be gas or spice when I step outside of my house.
