post reset: Mad rush for houses?

Do you think there will be a mad rush for houses when go live - I guess I'm wondering if there will be houses for everyone, and whether people who can afford any house they want will be able to find one of those houses available.

Even in beta I had the money for the house I wanted long before one became available.  It seems like it will be totally nuts when everyone who wants to can play.  Will they add a bizzillion more houses?

Also, I still want a dog and a house in Ix or Uralia.

  • How's the customization concept coming along?

  • I am going to buy the exact same house on the same street, because I loved it there. Maybe not the same block but I will sure try.

  • Hurray, no homelessness in Glitch unless voluntary! Thanks stoot! (Now if you would just come to London and sort out my problems here ;-) )

  • Ah yes, but adding the best houses is not easy! You know, the ones centrally located with easy access to lots of resources, that are closest to where you appear when you hit the signs, that are require only one key press when you select the signs… These homes will be taken quite rapidly!

  • What's hard about it?  TS has a direct line to GOD.

  • Personally I think that the idea of being "closest to resources" might be a subjective thing, at least once one levels up and has Teleportation IV. I only just learned it so I can't say for myself if that's true or not, but personally I believe from my own experience thus far that there isn't a bad place for a house in the entire game. It just depends on the skills you have and how you're able to utilize your location.

Also, +1000 customization and Ix houses. Those will go FAST if they ever come to be, just because of the unique style of Ix. I myself am still holding out for a 50k cave house. ;D

  • I've already planned out how to get the proper skills as fast as possible without doing anything else so I can get my papers and get my house

  • I have become house-obsessed. I'm on my third, and best, house now and I have only been in the game since August 12th. Recovering my/similar real estate will probably be my main focus immediately after the reset.

  • I know House is high up on my list of stuff to start off with.
I like my house, but I have heard that the houses that are art-themed are essentially the exact same, but less pac-man-ey, so I might take a peek at one of them.

  • I spent a llot of time trying out every type of house available, went to the meadows, tree houses, cave houses, firebogs, 50k's.  The only thing I didn't try were the cheap apartments, which is fine with me because I wouldn't live in one IRL either :).  I am very picky about where I live.  Firebogs wins hands down.

  • O! Give me a gnome where the buff have no foam,
and the fries are not crispy or gray.
Where serfs form a herd, and disparaging birds,
'Ave to try to look dowdy in hay.

  • I'm only on my third house, but know it (or one just like it on the same street) is where I'll want to live until there are houses in Ix or Uralia,

Speaking of Ix and Uralia - here's some bad news.  I believe that both of those were created by guest artists - so to get houses there, they would have to re-hire said guest artists.  I'm already sidling up to the guy who did Ix - I wrote him his very own glitch haiku and posted it on his facebook page.  If anyone else wants to help butter them up, it might help with squeezing some houses out of them.  :-)

  • A decent house will be one of my first priorities at the new start of the game.  I am very picky about both location and style.  The style issue will depend on exactly what the devs do with the customization features they've promised, but I won't buy a house I don't like just hoping I'll be able to change it enough.  The location equation is changing a bit as we carve out new areas of geography, but so far there still seem to be specific areas with easier access to regions of different kinds of resources.

  • I don't see houses in Ix in the realty section of this site. Could somebody give me a link to these houses you speak of? Please and thank you :)

  • There aren't any houses in Ix, TimeLord :)
    We can hope, though!

  • I won't be making a mad dash to buy the house I want because there are tons of houses now, TONS.

  • @Thee, I don't understand.  Why would they have to rehire someone just to put in houses in Ix & Uralia?  Isn't this just a design issue?  If the artists don't want to be rehired, surely one or more of the other TS artists could take a shot at it?
