scrolling discomfort

This may sound way off the wall but I'm unable to enjoy Glitch because the scrolling causes discomfort. Can't really explain it but the movement seems to give me a headache or something. It doesn't look bad, but it doesn't seem to be scrolling all that smooth either. Anyone know what I'm talking about?

  • I know exactly what you're talking about. If I already have a migraine coming on, it seems to aggravate it -- I think it has to do with the choppiness of the frames scrolling by. I'll often just look to the corner of the screen or away at another window while my Glitch is moving from street to street.

  • I don't know if I exactly understand what you are saying, but I have had some sort of "motion sickness" that I can get if I play The Sims too long.
I cannot watch other people play first person shooter games because of this, as well.

  • It bothers me too. When I walk, I find that looking at my character instead of the pretty scenery helps a lot!

  • I do the same as what Implet does and it keep me migraine free.
I'm unable to play several other online games due to motion sickness, but if I look at my Glitch, instead of the world, I seem to be able to avoid feeling unwell here.

  • my first question is...are you playing at night?

if so...install this and set it up. It may suck for the first few days...but give it a shot!

it changes the colors at night to be not so bright(burning of the eyes)

    it helps a little

  • I think it's because when you move, the background blurs a bit - I have the same problem sometimes. I tend to focus either on my Glitch, on my bag, or on the thumbnail map in the corner.

  • I have had some choppiness lately when scrolling.  I figured it was lag and it does go away when I reload and clear my cache.

  • Yes, I know exactly what you mean. I know when my right eye gets throbby, then it's time to not play or to look away from the screen while playing.

  • Does it seem like the screen skips a frame every half a second or so when you're moving? Or is it something completely different? :o

  • Wow, I've experienced the same thing! I felt a little motion sickness when I first started Glitch -- I thought it was just me though, since I suffered this twice before in other games. However, there's nothing I do about it besides taking Tylenol and playing daily until my brain finally adapts. Starring only at my character and having frequent breaks, help too.

Maybe the background moves faster than the rate I perceive my character to be walking at? Hmmm.

  • I think its definitly something with the background. I actually became sick to my stomach, motion sickness. I've played alot of games and I don't think any game has made me sick. It was at night so I'll try that link.
