They removed some items from certain vendors so that people would be forced to buy them off the auction. They felt having everything available in vendors kind of made the auction house less useful.
From the changelog:
"The affected items include Seasoned Beans and Seasoned Eggs, along with several top-shelf cocktails and meals."
Personally I think it's rather silly that selling an egg created through Animal Husbandry on the Auction House.. nets LESS money than the actual components needed for the creation process do.
@Death Cuddle: Which egg are you talking about? Honey is the only ingredient I can think of that absolutely requires you to purchase, and that's only 4 currants a pot.
@DeathCuddle that's because the people posting the auctions are stupid and not pricing them at an appropriate price point. don't blame the system for the faults of its users.
@Lara: Last few go rounds I've had with eggs on the Auction House have expired three times, forcing me to lower the price further and further in order to merit a sale. I'm not saying the pricing for the COMPONENTS is expensive, what I am saying is that the SALE prices for eggs seems to jump up and down quite nastily at times.
I just like to see the world populated with animals, but don't have time to run around and do that myself. So tiny animals on ah for a low price are a good idea to me, although it feels kind of strange to put an animal up for auction...
