An open letter to former Aranna residents

I recently visited several streets in Aranna and I was sad at the state of neglect I encountered. Bubble Trees, Fruit Trees, and Bean Plants barely having any fruit and the piggies starving and in some cases only a pile of meat and a piggie plop remain.

Let's go and show our former home region a bit of love and affection.

  • Piggies are starving on open streets? I didn't think that could happen.

  • I think if the trees aren't given any attention they will stop producing fruit. :(

Anyone interesting in doing an ArannaFest sometime this weekend, and taking the party to every street?

  • My last visit to sad, neglected Aranna inspired the following idea, which may be completely unnecessary once the hoardes of newbies arrive (at least I hope so): Adopt-a-Street. We could use iMG to put a 'watering spike' (or whatever) in the ground of a chosen street in Ur, which waters/pets/harvests the trees there automatically (maybe the harvests could be added to a basket or something for passerby's to collect). The 'spike' would be paid for in time increments with iMG, say 10k iMG for three days auto-harvesting. The spike could have a way to attach notes or at least state the name of whoever has sponsored the street on it. It wouldn't interfere with other player's abilities to interact with the trees.
I know...Ideas section. But that's two whole clicks away, and I'm lazy as hell today.

  • @OceanState- I like that idea, but as I'm a boggie, I'd have to adopt a street somewhere in Kalavana (a region with 3 whole people a day in it, it sometimes seems).

  • After reading this I traveled every street in Aranna. Except for a few trees that needed a little TLC, all was well. One word about streets in general: lately I've found that, on balance, the dead-end streets are the most neglected. Be sure to include these on your rounds out in the world and the piggies and trees will love ya for it!

  • Organizing petting parties (she said what now??) would be much simpler in the short term, and wouldn't require anything to be invented by the devs. Aren't people sad about the neglect of streets and lack of Glitchen in the "wild" anyway? An automatic watering/harvesting/whatevering systems seems like a strange solution, because only one or a few people has to place it and occasionally tend to it.

If a group or groups were to decide to get together and have a traveling party every now and then, that would be 1. More fun and 2. Get folks back into the world occasionally! Especially for the regions that no longer have any unique resources, there's very little reason to wander all through them anymore.

  • If I were to adopt a street then it would be Mullangi Meda since I am the self-declared keeper of that shrine.

All the ideas here give me hope that Aranna will bloom again.

  • While I love the new houses, I have to admit I miss the old neighborhood. I didn't realize a street could decay in such a way. Will definitely have to visit more often.
