The Urthquack and Projects Solution!

The Rooks are the only enemies in Ur, but who is their leader? I'll tell you who! The Black Swan!
And once every Glitch year she mounts an attack on Ur!

This event could be the solution to the Street Project problem.

I suggest Tiny Speck changes it so that each area has a Project Street that needs constant maintenance to stay at 100%. Each area would have a unique resource only found on that area's project street. That street might also be expanded t be longer and/or taller with Glitches voting on what resources should be added once it is expanded. These streets could possibly have the resources needed to replace the vendors.

But there's more! As long as all the Project Streets are at 100%, the Heart of Ur will be open. In the Heart of Ur you can find all the unique resources normally found only in each area's project street. And best of all, the Heart of Ur contains the "ALLTAR". This is an altar that honors all the giants of Ur, donating to it will give you favor with all the giants at the same time!

Now let's get back to the Black Swan. Every year, there is a Black Swan Attack where all the Project Streets of Ur are assaulted by the Rooks, trying to keep their completion below 100% and lock Glitches out of the Heart of Ur. Glitches will have a certain amount of time to fight off all the Rooks and restore the Project Streets and open up the Heart of Ur again. But now they have to fight the Black Swan using the "ALLTAR" within the Heart of Ur. The Black Swan will cause quick mood and energy loss, so it will be a community effort to keep everyone in the fight. If the Black Swan is defeated, everyone who participated gets a large amount of favor with the Giants and a trophy or badge.

But what if we fail? If the Glitches do not defeat the Black Swan in time, she causes the Urthquack! A devastating disaster that reduces ALL Project Streets to 0% and exhausts all resources on Home Streets, maybe even damaging all the resources in Ur itself! In this event, it is up to the Glitches to restore the world to its former glory.

But what if it's not looking like we will succeed in defeating the Black Swan? Isn't there something we can do? Of course! If you're running out of time, you could construct reenforcements for resources to keep them from being damaged by the Urthquack.

These changes could bring in a lot of new players, bring back old players, bring together the community, make the Project Badges and Trophies available again and offer a slew of new badges and trophies!

  • Very cool idea -- not sure how TS would code it, but it sounds intriguing!

I love the alltar and all the cooperation.  We really need something like this.

  • Put the "100%" street in the middle of each region (excluding AL of course).
Each of these streets would have a shrine to streets instead of the giants.
When the Swan attacks players could go to any of the street shrines instead of just one lag unusable location.

  • I'm diggin' the synergistic elements in this idea.

  • Hmmm, good point, BlackWolf. Perhaps glitches have to charge the shrines in the Project Streets in order to charge the ALLTAR. So only one glitch needs to actually be in the Heart of Ur to attack the Black Swan.

  • I like the idea. It would be a way to get everyone working together (hopefully) and the consequences of not succeeding would keep everyone busy! Win-win situation :)
