Selling one house to buy another?

I bought a small house and I want to upgrade. Unfortunately, my cabinet is stuffed with things. Two questions:
1) Do I lose anything in my old house when I sell it?
2) If so, is there any easy way to transfer my stuff to a new house, other than just trying to fit it all in my bags.

  • You do lose anything left, except your trophies. Ask a couple friends to help you move. I did that and it was wicked fun, and done in no time. Good luck. ^.^

  • Yeah, get a friend or two to help - it is really easy to do.

  • Someone at one point was starting a "moving service," let me see if I can find that post/group.

  • I guess they deleted it. Hmm. Maybe I should start one...

  • I thought about getting help moving, but then I thought it was a good opportunity for getting rid of stuff I don't use, so I donated a bunch to shrines, left a few bits and pieces (emblems, food and drinks) for the next person (it was a cheap-er house, so I was kind of assuming a new-ish person would move in and hopefully they would appreciate their "welcome to your new house" gifts). That way I had more than enough room for my stuff in bags.
I was just sorry to loose George Clooney, my Pig. I captured Hugh Jackman and moved him with my stuff, but couldn't get George too :(
Still, I have George the Second in my new home, so it's all good.

  • Probably this thread: http://beta.glitch.com/forum/general/3824/

Another idea in the "Moving House" threads was renting a moving cart, which would be kinda fun. Make it both big and expensive... maybe 1000-2000 currants and 200 slots.

But really what I like best is the idea of gathering a couple of friends. It makes for a nice social event in-game, improves the player-to-player connection and maybe they'll give you house-warming gifts too :-)

I'd love to help one of my friends move house - except I'd have to go home and empty out all my over-stuffed bags first!

  • There is a Moving Cart - called "Auctions"
Just add your stuff at high prices, sell your house and buy a new one, and cancel the auction.
They deliver directly without need to travel ;)

  • One other option if you don't want to hassle friends to help you move. Dump all of your stuff outside of your old house, buy your new house, empty your inventory in there and go back and pick up your stuff.

You run the risk of losing some of your stuff, but I the housing areas aren't heavily traveled so it isn't a big deal.

I utilized a different trick when I moved. I left a bunch of stuff in the cabinet I wasn't attached to, and the a day or two later found a new player I was able to direct to buy my old house (a house full of trees, animals, crops and a cabinet full of stuff?) He was then nice enough to give me some of my stuff back, he wanted to give it all to me but I insisted he keep some of it.

Unless you are a player just starting out, there isn't much you can leave in a house you can't replace in a day or two of playing.

  • yeah, i'm looking to upgrade next test - was honestly just planning to sell/donate most of my stuff to ease the transition, then start accumulating again once i'm settled in the new place.

  • Thanks for all of the responses. Auction trick is interesting, I will have to try that in the future. I was only about 10 items over what I could put in my bags, so I mostly sold it and gave it away.

  • I have a full bar of large bags, so moving wasn't difficult :)
