purple journey is the worst. My house seems to take the longest to load, but once it loads, it's fine. Plus, my home has lots of objects, so it makes sense that it takes a bit to load. But purple journey locks up with every appearance of the scion, and that doesn't really make sense. Especially since I remember it running smoothly the first week or two after potions released.
I get bad lag whenever I open a window that shows all my inventory. For example, if I donate to a shrine and I let the window open that shows all my items or I go to fill a piggy feeder and open up the window, etc. I have learned to drag & drop the items directly from my inventory to bypass the window that opens up. Otherwise I have to reload the game to get rid of the lag to make the game playable again! Don't know if anyone else has experienced this?
From most to least lag: My house > Baby Steppes (besides the lag, it takes forever for crab and trees to load sometimes) > Anywhere with a lot of people (currently Cebarkul) > Ancient lands (sometimes it takes a little while for the dust traps to load) > Everywhere else
Not sure about purple journey, I did one a while ago but don't remember lagging then.
I haven't been to IX for months, the lag is just to much. Baby Stepps, causes me to freeze and the only way out is to shut down. Party zones or Rook attacks are difficult for me, anywhere where there are lots of glitches, are no go for me.
@mrMatt I'm using Chrome for Mac and I don't generally have a problem with lag. I do have a new mac though. Also I always kill the flash client when things do slow down and I shut down any other memory hoggers whilst I'm playing!
It hasn't been long since I joined Glitch but I've spent at least a couple of hours on it each day and I can honesty say I've yet to experience any lag. Fingers crossed it stays that way!
Over Zilloween Cebarkul of course but there's a lag wall in the middle of my house, glitch runs into it and comes to a complete halt for a few seconds.
I was experiencing lag inside my home. But then I updated my flash player and that stopped. Now it's all good, for now at least. But I do experience lag when someone spanks me, or if someone sprinkles sparkle powder, sneezing powder and there are too many people around, like when Cebarkul is full of glitchens, or the new years' eve party that had too much people around. That's when I lag and can't move or see those powders on the screen and sometimes I have to restart the game all again cause of that. :(
My new home :) Lag central. Something about the newness of it, generating furniture, the large size of the location as a whole, I've no idea really, but it creates a hella lot of lag :)
It doesn't help that I've got some item stacks (Less than in the old house but still a fair few) strewn about.
Purple I found was much worse than a party zone OR the Cebarkul die-in, apart from that when I leave the house for the first time it seems to bog down the entire world till I restart but it's fine till the next house interaction, almost as if it tries to remember all the contents AFTER I leave for some odd reason.
Purple Journey and Guillermo Gamera's Way (the latter place only a few months ago, since then, I think something changed... it loads quite nice for me now).
Entering my test house is the most lag.
When the Juju comes in the Ancestral Lands I completely freeze up. He gets something of mine every single time.
I love sparkle powder & sneeze powder but it freezes me up too.
Purple essence. Last time I used that I was stuck in one spot the whole time and was totally bummed out that it got wasted. Thank the Giants purple is easy to grow!
Compared to most other browser based games I play the lag here is nothing in comparison.
It used to be Guillermo Gamera's Way, but it's been there a lot better there for me lately too, however Flipside & Groddle Ladder are still really bad for me - even when they're empty of other Glitchens! I also tend not to go to Ix, the amount of lag & crashes I experience there are crazy making. Purple Journey is also really bad.
Ix, first of all. I didn't go there for months until I needed more allspice for bean seasoning. Uralia -- Cebarkul is awful for lag. I went to sell to the Tool Vendor, and it took me 15 minutes and 3 game reloads to get away.
My new house when I first go in.
Party packs, but that just may be because of all the Glitchen since my machine is not too fond of Groddle Forest Junction, either.
When the Juju Bandit comes, my computer freezes for a while. Oh, and if someone splanks me.
Callopee and the Ancestral Lands when there aren't bandits are best.
Other than when there's a ton of glitchen, the only really bad case I've noticed is purple journey. Occasionally I get lag somewhere else, but it doesn't seem related to location.
I generally only see it in heavily populated areas (so mainly Cebarkul, occasionally the Ilmenskies, Naraka these days, Groddle Forest Junction way back when).
It does take my house and full inventory a bit to load, but it's not laggy per se.
I do play from one machine with a rough connection, and I do get lagged in the Ancestral Lands and GoC.
Whenever the JuJu Bandit appears. Everything seems to freeze for a few seconds. I just lost 4 items to him in under 2 minutes because of this. It seems kinda unfair. I try to outrun him but when my computer freezes, he inevitably gets something from me!
Bad lag as my home first loads, then it's mostly OK (still a bit laggy but not terrible). Terrible lag whenever I open an "items to donate" Window when I'm at a shrine. It takes MINUTES to fully load, which is a bummer. Terrible lag in the ancestral lands... no idea why, they're not that crowded. Bad lag anywhere that's really crowded.
Just updated my flash thinking that would help, but it really didn't. The whole game has been a lot more laggy recently, I assume because more people are playing (which doesn't bode well for what will happen once the big change-over happens!).
I have a pretty good computer, but it is a laptop -- that might be part of it, they are a bit slower at this kind of stuff than desktop computers.
