Cebarkul -> Chebarkul, a town in Russia
Inari -> a municipality in Finland
Langden Abbey -> West Langden Abbey near West Langdon, Kent, England

Simpele -> a former municipality of Finland

  • I have often thought that Smew Yew in Basara is a shout out to St Michael's University School in Victoria, known in the area as Smoo (and Stoot went there).

  • Hehe Geeki:) I palindrome I. Very clever/sneaky isn't it.

  • Smew Yew reminds me of Saint Mary's University in Halifax, also known as Smoo (near which I lived while attending a different school), but it'd be redundant -- SMU is already Smew, no Yew required.

  • Every time I went on Burnabee I thought, that's funny that's just like Burnaby near where I grew up. What a funny coincidence. derp

  • There seems to be alot of Finnish or Finnish-sounding places such as Paijanne Feign (Päijänne in Finnish, a big lake),ljoki is really close to Iijoki, which is a finnish river, there's also Vuoksi Vale, Vuoksi is another river here. Oulanka End, Oulanka is a national park,

Inari Deeps, Simpele slip, Vaala vinam;  Sysma Link are all towns in Finland

And as a totally irrelevant note, Kakkasi uni means "your poop's dream", There's also Likomarka (likomärkä) which cannot really be totally random as it means soaking wet in finnish and all the places are references to water in Shimla Mirch

  • When I hear Burnabee, I can't stop thinking of Barnaby, a local children's program from when I was but a wee glitchling, long before Sesame Street made it's debut on the national scene (TV was still basically all B&W)

    Sorry a bit off topic...

  • While watching the movie "Dune" the other day (on VHS of course) I realized that IX and spice were from that movie.

On a side note I always thought Adanac was just Adanac Street, you know the street four down from Hastings?  I ain't the quickest.

  • I Palindrome I? I guess that does work for me... I Palindrome!

I know from TomC, that many streets on here are plays on different languages and real places. Rivers, streets, places... I believe that tons of the bogs were Russian or something? And some place was named after a spice.
