I just hit 2 million currants on Monday night - now my balance is 872,814, and my imagination hasn't changed. Even if my imagination DOES change, that's quite a hit to my bank balance...
Maybe they converted a portion of currants to imagination before taking the converted currants away? My other thought was that it was related to houses, but I guess not.
It's part of the imagination change. It's happening to all of us, like the level drop, so really we'll all be in the same place relative to each other. Just think of it as an economic stimulus package.
Same thing happened to me. Had 1.3 million currants, now I'm sitting at just over 600 thousand currants. Staff, please fix this or at least explain in detail when able. For now, I think I'll try buying things on auction before I go broke.
they did say a while back that some of our currants would be used towards the new imagination - I've lost a lot too (will be something to work towards again i guess :) 1.5mill to 723k
I just had 200,000c go poof. I'm not overly worried though... I'm assuming they're fiddling with wires and switches behind the scenes and it will balance out somehow.
Walruz, I took a similar hit like you did, had almost the same exact number of currants as you did before and after. Seems like the more currants you had the bigger the hit you took.
It sounds as if they converted some currants for people who had a lot but left currants alone for people with less? That would be in line with what they said about trying to "flatten" the advantages of older players before exiting beta.
I don't remember what I had before the change, but it was not much more than what I have right now, about 260k.
I have to admit though, if we had have been given the choice to buy imagination with our currants I probably would have blown half of them doing so anyway! This has to be more cost effective than those bloody cubimal boxes HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Kerlick, we knew before the changes happened that a portion of currants would be changed into imagination. That's why I've been busting a gut the past 6 weeks or so to get my money up : )
I can't explain it yet Elf, hopefully TS will do in more detail. It probably helped me that my currant balance was pretty healthy but I'd also maxed out my level to 60. Maybe they're still tweaking with the figures (will keep my fingers crossed for you in any case).
I think that its the revenge of the chickens! They been on about revenge for the squeezing for ages, and they grabbed their chance and stole our currants while we can't get in the game!
Yeah I think it's on a curve as someone above said LMG. I went from 700k-odd to 400k-odd and someone in the other thread hasn't had any of their 6,000 currents switched. As someone above says, stimulus package!
You get extra value to your imagination from the currants, this will almost definitely be more valuable to you in game than the currants were, it will allow you to do more from the starting blocks than others who didn't have that money. Plus what you learned has also been accounted for. This is why I got 997k imagination and some of my currants cut at level 47 but I learned everything. Someone else who had all money and same level would get more imagination than me, if they have not learned as much they may get about the same. It's a huge balancing act and I trust TS to make it fair for all.
Audaria - that's probably why they didn't do the lvl to IMG and currants to IMG at the same time. I expect the currants that we lost will become IMG soon.
Here's the explanation from Stoot per Metra's link:
Imagine three players before the conversion: Fred, who is level 10 with 1,000 currants; Mary, who is level 30 with 50,000 currants and Sally, who is level 60 with 1,000,000 currants. In the example, Mary has 50x the currants that Fred has, while Sally has 20x more currants than Mary and 1,000x more currants than Fred (the differences in levels seem less, but because each successive level requires more XP, the ratios between their levels are actually similar to the ratios between their currant balances). After the conversion, rather than 1 : 50 : 1,000, the differences between them might be more like 1 : 10 : 100 or even 1 : 5 : 10 (it depends on the curve and we have a lot more math to do before we'll decide that). Bottom line: if you are ahead now, you will be ahead afterwards, but not as far ahead.
I also didn't get any added imagination for my currant loss. Still at 2,131,519 imagination from the original conversion from level 60. I'll wait and see if it changes.
