Why cant we put our Imagination towards everything we do in the game??

I think I am not the only one with this problem.

At the moment I have over 1 mil Img,  all my necessary upgrade cards have been bought.
On the other hand, and down to 200k in currants. So I see two ways that the game could be changed. One friend I know has 500k quoins but over 6 mil Img ( which she has no purpose for)

1. Posibility for us to exchange some Img points for some currants.
Or exchange some currants for Img points.

or

2.Do away with the currants and we would all deal with only Img points for everything that we do in the game.
What do you think?

  • iMG as currency would be awesome as hell!

Especially since SOOO MANY damn people sell EVERYTHING on the auction for under tool vendor prices.

  • I think the game is well-balanced at the moment if both you and your friend can easily play in a way that gives you lots of currants and lots of iMG.

How about using your iMG to help restore projects along the well-used resource routes?  When group halls come out, there will also be lots of places to sink iMG.

They just made it easier to exchange currants for iMG by making it easier to tithe icons.  You could also go around filling up your friends' icons with tithes which would then give more iMG.

Another way to exchange currants for iMG is to buy things from vendors and donate them at shrines.

I suggest you wait until the game is fully rolled out and see if you still feel that you dont have anything to 'spend' iMG on.  Until then, remember we're in beta, and that lots of changes are still in the works.

  • Serra can you explain more about iMG replacing currants and how that would help the auctions?

  • @Windborn I agree with you that the game is currently pretty well balanced. However, I think the OP was complaining of an excess of iMG and a lack of currants. There isn't really a way (that I can think of) to convert from i to C.

  • Audaria, you read the post correctly, which was saying in other words that I would like to see a way that we can convert our extra Img to currants, and not ways to go spend our Img when it is realy currants that I need.
    All to eliminate currants altogether.

  • People panicked when part of their currants were converted to img; I don't think eliminating currants altogether, even if converted to img or something else, would go over well.

  • fwiw, i am almost out of IMG, but have (or had, before cubimal2) plenty of currants.   Your own experience doesn't necessarily extrapolate to everyone elses.

  • The original plan for the imagination conversion was the eliminate currants altogether or make the only source of their creation be imagination. Something like that might still happen, but it is mind-bogglingly complex with thousands of little details. So, we'll see.

However, I think it is reasonable to expect some basic mechanics by which iMG can be converted to currants and vice versa (with lots of friction/loss in both directions).

  • I'd be poor on both sides of this quoin as I have a want... No, a need.... to buy cubimals. Especially since Series 2 is out! Yay!!  lol Oh, right, back to the topic at hand. I do like the idea to have currants imagined into existence. Great idea, Jea - +1   :D

  • We can already convert currants to imagination through mechanics in the game like Shrine Donations and Broccoli.

I don't think that allowing us to spend imagination on currants is a good solution at this point.  The rich are already very rich - there is definitely a strong correlation between those who have piles of money and those who have piles of unusable imagination - and I think that putting those together would benefit those who are way ahead.  Plus, if you turn the zeal with which you have been earning imagination to earning currants you'll find you can generate them quite quickly.

Imagine if imagination was the currency we used on the auction house.  I have about 3 million to spare, level 60s probably have 14 million or 15 million.  Level 10s don't really have any because they want to spend all of their imagination on upgrade cards.  So you end up with a situation where a level 10 is even more broke because spending on items is felt much more strongly, but a level 60 is vastly more wealthy, and can easily dump imagination on whatever they want.  In the end, the best way for a new player to advance quickly would be to craft things that level 60s want and sell them.

I am really looking forward to having more ways to spend my imagination, in particular to have more endlessly repeatable ways to spend imagination.  But I'd like to keep glitch development and currency fairly separate with only indirect ways of converting from one to the other.

  • (with lots of friction/loss in both directions)

I'm hoping that there's lots and lots of friction and that the amount you lose makes most Glitches think twice about converting back and forth.

  • How about tinkertooling gives imagination as well?

  • Well I am poor in iMG AND currants so I hope what stoot says does NOT happen.

  • I am with WindBorn on this one.
Try also to picture it like a NEW player. Think about how the differences between iMG and Currants FEEL and what depth they add.

  • Agreed :) To what Lord bacon said, YES. Simpler can be better, but not in this case, I don't think.

  • What I think we really need is foolish things to spend millions of imagination on, not effective things to spend millions of imagination on.

  • Humbabella, re "What I think we really need is foolish things to spend millions of imagination on, not effective things to spend millions of imagination on."

That is precisely the plan :)

  • More foolish things to spend currants/imagination/credits on? Yayyyy, I can hardly wait to see them all!

  • I was just saying I have too much iMG at 240,000 saved up with nothing to spend it on. I know Eye must be patient because it's not the end of the game. It's just the beginning.

  • Currantly, the best way I have found to convert iMG to currants is by selling Reshuffle and Get Out of Hell Free cards at Auction.  It's not very reliable, because they don't come up too often and the profit isn't huge, but it's one of the few auctions that seems to be useful to me.
