I'm sure this is NOT how it's supposed to be done, but I can't find any other way to send the feedback that I am honor-bound, as a beta-tester, to provide... and I've just received a message about my membership expiring, so I figured I'd better say something quick! :-)
I have appreciated the chance to beta-test Glitch, and I have great respect for the ingenuity, Seussian graphic style, and delightful silliness the developers have put into it. But... I just don't enjoy it very much. Despite all the scores of different locales to play in, everything gets repetitive and boring very quickly, and pretty soon there are no real surprises left -- or at least none I'm willing to water ten thousand trees to get to. There just doesn't seem to be any point to the game. Or if there is, maybe it needs to be made more apparent.
I've been trying to come up with some constructive suggestions that would make the game more appealing to me. The main issue that comes to mind is that there's a lot of frustration in the game, and that's something quite abundant in real life -- I don't need any more of it! For example: the butterflies are supposed to be elusive; I get that. But I feel they were much TOO elusive, and I very quickly gave up on them. Also, the bureau of documents (or whatever it's called) was exactly like real life: I wanted to leap over the counter with a feather duster and tickle those old biddies senseless until they gave me what I needed! But I couldn't, so they humiliated me roundly and repeatedly. What good is being in a fantasy world if you can't act on your fantasies? :-)
So thank you, developers, for an enjoyable experiment. You're very creative, and I wish you great luck with your game!
