Seriously, 7 regions have zero housing available. The others only have the most bare-bones options possible. Please open up new housing in all regions.
No, no, of course not.
Look, new big homes pop up every month or so -- even every few weeks.
I'm just suggesting that, um, I see a ton of threads on this topic.
Dude we need more housing.
More housing please.
Why can't I have a 50K home? I have the money?
Please in the name of Alph open up new neighborhoods!
I don't think it's a grand mystery, but kudos to you for adding your voice to the choir/mob/crowd/clamor of homeless glitchen.
I completely agree with you, more housing is needed.
Hence all the wayward would-be villagers filling up the forums.
I'm just suggesting that TS is already well aware.
Now: Threadjack:
It's pretty clear that no one wants the ugly treehouses.
But, they each have 3 treespots, and 12 garden plots.
What could we do if we spun up a ton of alts to buy all the crap housing, exchanged keys with one another, and then used those for collective farming/cooking/gifting etc.
One, we'd take the treehouses no one wants and make something useful.
Two, I'm pretty sure TS would wake up and say, huh. All the housing is gone. Which could accelerate new rollouts of higher end housing.
Three, the collective would have kind of an amazing neighborhood. All to itself, practically.
and Four, maybe it would be another of those emergent behaviors Stoot gets so curious about.
I'm willing to bankroll the purchase of three homes in the same tree-borhood, and send keys to collective members.
The collective cannot number more than, say, 5 people, and ought to be committed to the idea of doing stuff with crops, storing them, and not being a right bastard. And maybe getting together for a cooking klatsch periodically.
IE, good folks, skypeable, reachable by IM, accountable.
Anyone interested?
Must be prepared to invest 12k in 3 homes, spin up and support 3 alts, and not be a jerk.
Oh, and finally, there is no such thing as desirable regions.
There are only regions.
And your desires.
All regions are leveragable.
It really depends on your purpose.
I don't think these threads will ever go away unless TS changes the way housing works in some way that either automatically creates new blocks or frees up abandoned homes.
I'm not endorsing changing the current system, necessarily, just saying these threads aren't going anywhere under the current system.
No, I don't want a bigger house, just a *different* house. XD
I like moving around a lot ok? And I think other users would like that option too, unless I'm completely mistaken.
The last time I saw a thread asking for more housing, only a couple of the regions were completely sold out. Now it's almost half. That seems ridiculous to me.
I can see the want for more different KINDS of housing, but as for more housing, well, there's still LOTS of available housing up for grabs. It may not be what most people are looking for, but I know of at least one street where there are perhaps just a few blocks full of occupied houses and tons of houses that are still up for sale. As for locations, I can see a few places that would be great for new housing, but others I think might be better off without it (which probably includes a good chunk of the 7 locations that Miso is thinking of) unless of course, smaller houses are made for smaller locations, and perhaps "rock houses" for others that are small caves. Just my own 2 currants.
Yeah, you do have to be kind of lucky to catch them. I was fortunate enough to be online when they rolled the last bunch of housing and was able to grab a nice Bortola 15k. I think they went even faster this time around. crazy stuff.
I know, but the 10k isn't much of an step up from my current 4k cave.
It's got 3 patches, while I got 2+1 dark patch. The extra crop plots and increased storage aren't really compelling vs. leaving Groddle Heights right now.
The 'bump' in the number of trees going from a 10k to a 15K cottage is kind of trivial anyway. That's one more tree to harvest each day. There are dozens and dozens of trees out on the public streets to harvest each day.
The Remote Herdkeeping animal capacity caps are what determine what sort of house I live in, plus the number of crops that can be planted. I can't imagine caring how many tree patches I would have.
But I will agree that the 4k 2+1 patch caves are the best 'housing deal' in the game, if you like that sort of housing, and probably the best 'starter' houses.
I was lucky to be around yesterday when they dumped the new housing. Got my hubby to help me move (helped that everything was in bags!), then helped a friend move to a Bortola home as well. Love my new 15k cottage.
Why does everyone want cottages? Personally, I think that the firebogs (7.5k) are much better for parties and for herbs. Only for herbs, and making crystals!
Fire bogs for the win. They're fun to look at even at the most cheapo place possible, I have peat, jellisac, herb plots and an egg tree which my pigs will no longer eat to death because I finally remembered to leave food out for them. Admittedly, I sometimes yearn for some crop plots AND herb plots or one of the homes with barnacles, but I suspect that if combinations are out there/are released, I'll never have enough money to buy them!
