Glitch Academy - Truancy and Report Cards

Hi Everyone,

I just wanted to give a quick update of two changes with Glitch Academy.

  1. A truancy policy has been instituted. If a student does not meet the requirements for any classes in their schedule after 4 consecutive days, they will be considered truant and their account will be suspended. A suspension is lifted simply by visiting the campus again.

  2. This comes due to a growing list of players who create class schedules with advanced skills but never reach the requirements. These are most likely players who tried Glitch and moved on or are currently taking a hiatus. These accounts end up using a lot of resources since the registrar needs to check every 15 minutes to see if they can learn any of their scheduled skills.

  3. Second, as some of you know, Report Cards have been disabled since Saturday. The sudden growth spurred all kinds of automatic machine responses concerned about spam. A new email sending system has been implemented and should begin sending reports tomorrow after some paperwork clears. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Thanks. Peace.

Update Nov. 7th, 20:55 GMT: The new report card system is in place and functioning. Those who have opted-in should once again be receiving them.

  • I don't use the report cards, but it's good to know that you've resolved the issue.

The truancy policy is a good modification. It's always been the case that people try a game out then leave.

  • Thanks for the awesome app. This really is a very useful tool.
Is there any way you could also include the time required to learn each skill? (and additionally, the total time to learn all the skills in the queue? The time can be a snapshot time at the start of the skill learning or end of the learning, whichever works)

Not sure if the  time is available via the API..

  • Good job, Code Dev! Glad things are working again. Your tool has been working great for me with no hiccups, either. :D

  • How does this work? Is it just a tracker? I signed up for it a couple days ago but still have to start learning skills manually.

  • @Enelyse
It allows your Glitch to learn continuously (excluding the 15 minute interval between refresh). You 'enroll' the skills you want to learn in the order you want.

  • Hmm... Thanks for the response, Mal'akh.

Something's not synching up then.  Anyway, I've registered more skills and scheduled them.  Hopefully it works this time.  :)

  • I just wanted to say that I think this application is utterly fantastic and has made my skill-learning smooth, efficient and organised. As someone who doesn’t have a mobile phone that can support the Glitch app., it’s great to be able to go out and have a social life and have my Glitch keep learning skills while I do so.

    Kudos x 1 Bajillion.
