Some Graphs comparing SDB and Auction sales

They are here: i.imgur.com/Sy58C.png

There are five. In order, they describe:

1. Total number of transactions
2. Total number of "units" of items sold (a stack of 60 meat can sell in one transaction, but it counts as 60 units sold).
3. The number of currants spent
4. Average currants per sale (#3 divided by #1)
5. Average units per sale (#2 divided by #1)

  • I don't like your stinky graphs!

  • So if I'm reading this right, there's more volume on the auctions, but more money spent on the SDBs?  Is there an official place to search SDB contents, or is glitchremote.com the best place to do it?

  • Would it be possible to get the raw data in .csv form?

  • Addlepated: Nothing official — for now we just make the data available to outside developers.

Miri Tazapin: No CSV, but the data is available via the API: developer.glitch.com/api/

  • what type of graphs does everyone want to see? I could add them... I made the sdb vs auctions as simple as I could

but I can add more options...

  • That's great UXRoot — didn't see that you had added the price comparisons. Cool!

(One opportunity for tweaking: when you search for a new item and there is only one result, it is not obvious that you have to click on it to get the graph to change.)

I'd like to see those graphs a bit bigger as an option (maybe using Google Charts so you can mouse over data points to see the values for a particular day?)

  • @Stoot: Thanks!  You are right, I just changed the way "Economy" results are shown in GR, I made a bad decision of using the *search* panel to show the *result* item. It was confusing, especially if there was a result showing in that panel.
I already used the Google Chart control in other projects, I need to do some stress tests to see if my server can give the information it requires in time

  • How would the markets be impacted should we be allowed to sell into other SDB's?

So if someone was selling at a price above the market average rate we were allowed to deposit into the account and get paid at the sellers rate?

  • @sonneratti, I might think so, but we would need a 'till' type option to ensure you have the mulah available to allow it.  then if it maxed, I would assume like an empty box, the full box couldn't be deposited into until more people bought from it.  Like a self-sustaining register per box.  But if that did happen, IMO, I'd think the auction and most vendors would cease to be of use since we'd have all the tools necessary at that point.

But, regardless, I just wanted to say I'm loving these results.

  • Mr. i k -- I believe you've hit the nail on the head, since they've already said they want to get rid of vendors...

  • would love to see the sdbs as independent entities. Placed randomly, licence dues to be fair

High traffic streets rent pays dividends

combined with doors could be an amazing experience?
