Does this sound dodgy to you?

I was just solo mining in the caves, and helped a random Glitchen refill their energy with RKs. The Glitchen then struck a conversation with me about how to earn currants and xp, which was when things got a little odd.

When a stranger asks to borrow your gems to sell (and offers to repay you), then asks to follow you home to get your stash when you politely refuse, it rings alarm bells. If you wouldn't do it in real life, don't do it in Glitch!

My fellow Glitchen, was it reasonable of me to just walk away from the conversation and shake off the guy by teleporting away? Or is it just me being paranoid?

  • I would have left him/her quick too.  Very odd indeed - and paranoid or not (I prefer the term wary lol) I think you made the smart decision :) Most Glitchen are honest but the odd one out there will take you for everything you have! Kinda like real life in that respect.

  • Good thing I left too. Apparently this Glitchen has tried to follow others home as well. Repeat performances are definitely dodgy!

  • Yeah, definitely.

  • I'd report them to the staff...especially if they made you feel that uncomfortable. Let the staff make a judgement on their odd activity.  Could be someone 'playing a creepy character' or it could be a RL creep playing a glitch...hard to say.

  • You could file a help case, with the glitches name and as many details as you can, then if they feel it is improper they can act, also somebody else might get taken in or misled, so you if you file a case its on the radar :)

To file a help case top right of screen above.

  • It's an ideal world, you don't have to talk to anybody. Except the annoying mailman

  • lol, good old alarm bells :) i actually find it funny when people do thing's like that, i always just block them and move on with my day. Best instance hat happened to me like that was when key's first came out, a player wanted to be my "maid" and told me i was mean when i said no a few times, i thought it was funny :) but i mean, i had my pickle and GNG there, so why on earth would i give a random glitchen that i have no idea who was a key?

  • @blackwidow - And maybe you didn't need a "maid"....but I kinda do...you think you could hook me up?

  • I will wear maid costume for currants.

Ok, anyway: yes the person asking to 'borrow gems to sell but then repay you' is not only an idiot but a creepo.  Best to tell an adult and let them get booted.

  • @ Sir Maxalatte-First, are you making a joke, or are you serious? If you gave me currants for it, I could be a maid. (LOL! An online maid!) Let me know, I can never tell if people are joking or not, esepecially online.

  • lol kinda sounds like wire-transfer scam.

"If you let me sell your gems you'll get quadruple the profit! Just pay me a small fee!" Then all your currants disappear.

    Very odd, very dodgy.

  • One glitch=glitch, two of 'em=glitchen. (One child, two children.) It confuses my head when you talk about "one Glitchen."
