  • It is a mistake to do so, at least imo, because when new skills are introduced it will take such a person much longer to learn any of the new ones that they are particularly interested in.

  • yeah, I finished learning my last skill one week ago today, and I am pretty sure that I wasn't the first person to do so. any particular reason why you're asking?

  • I finished them three weeks ago, I think.

when the new skills come out, we may also get Unlearning - finally - or a Better Learning 6 skill, or both. so same as there is a chance that the skills may have high, easy to inflate base learn times, there is also a chance that it won't matter.

we also don't know what the skill pre-reqs are. by learning all the skills, skill pre-req learning time won't be a problem.

I've been using pretty much every skill lately, with the exception of fuel and block making and crystallography, which are there and ready in case street building starts up again.

  • Finished all of them 4 days ago.  Don't consider it a mistake as I've experimented with all of them at least once.  Also, I have no idea what the pre-requisites will be for future skills; whether we'll get totally new and independent skill trees to learn, or current skills trees will be developed.

Also, I'm going to take a stab in the dark and say that achievements may play more of a role as pre-requisites for future skills.  Some may have more than one, and some may require achievements that take a bit of time to achieve compared to others.

Of course, it's all pure speculation at this point.

  • If you have ever played Eve, where some skills can take 40 days to learn, this is nothing. I am never really in a rush to get the latest and greatest. If the game is not interesting as it is now, then we are all in deep trouble if our greatest enjoyment comes from the next great skill.

  • I'm wondering because of brain deterioration. I want to eventually learn all but if I can't then I'll just pick my favorite. What is brain deterioration exactly.

  • the first sign of brain deterioration is repeating something in a forum

  • You can use agent86's skillifier to see the effect of brain deterioration: agent86.nfshost.com/glitch/...; With BL5, the current max penalty is about 400%; without it can get up to over 600%, so a skill could take over 6 times its base learning time.

  • Learned the last skill about a week ago also. I'm not too worried about new skills either. Very few of the skill are not at all worth getting, so the extra couple notches doesn't make much of a difference to me.

  • I stopped learning a couple of weeks ago with 9 skills left. I am happy with the ones I've learned. I mainly stopped because I didn't want to fiddle around unlearning something I didn't really want in the first place in order to learn new skills when they are are introduced. But I didn't think about the pre-req thing. Oh noos!  I better consult with my magic Rock again.

  • I'm pretty much done with 16 unlearned.  I may grab refining II but it's so cheap to make humbabas it doesn't matter much.  I have no need for the bog skills; blockmaking, fuelmaking, and crystallography have no use in the game right now; and when I get a chance I'll probably unlearn engineering.
