Make changes more evolutionary, or in smaller steps

I suggest making changes in a more evolutionary way, or in smaller steps, spreading them out over a few days or a few weeks, avoiding sudden sharp discontinuities, to make it more like a real world. Or at least if there are discontinuities, provide some in-world explanation for it, again to make it more like a real world.

I used to work in a tool shop. When we were setting up tools to cut a series of parts, we would position the tools approximately, then cut one piece, then measure, then adjust by two thirds of the difference rather than all the way, then adjust again.

  • I saw you mention this in another thread. But what is it you're suggesting was too jarring? It feels to me like lots of the mechanics are tweaked bit by bit, just as you suggest... 

    I see you haven't actually played the game much recently, so do you mean that things have changed between your play sessions, or are you talking about discontinuities that you've inferred from what other people say?
