Hugged and Kisses

This isn't really a bug, even though it bugs me, so I thought I'd stick it in Ideas.

So, my idea is this: may we have all the tenses match? For example, it currently says "[Glitch] hugged you! Mood +2" and also "[Glitch] kisses you. +10 mood". I'm not going to complain about the lack of exclamation marks about kisses, but could we please keep it to the same tense? Unless I'm the only one with a problem, in which case, I'll quit with the whining ;)

Also, while I'm having a little complain about spelling and grammar in this (completely wonderful, adorable, hilarious) game: is it Ti or Tii? Whoever does the narrative comments is confused! And, you know, that makes me confused >.<

  • I prefer Tii as well, and +100 to verb tense consistency.

  • They call it "Shrine to Ti" on the map, but in the encyclopedia it's Tii
    I like Tii better

  • Well, as Tii is the only giant with a gender of n/a, Ti is a little indefinite in the first place.  Or perhaps much too definite in too many ways for us simple glitches to grasp.  Those who insist on pigeon holes like male and female, grammar consistency between such disparate actions as hugging and kissing, and spelling that remains stubbornly out of sync with actual spoken fonetix do not have the flexibility of mind to cope with the ineffable calculations and estimations of Tii. I'm sure it has to do with all of those imaginary numbers.

  • The verb consistency thing is maddening. "Water," "pet," "harvest,".... "crushing."  Why, lord, why?

It's the little stuff like this that makes a game (or any product, really) feel amateurish. Mind you, I don't think Glitch is amateurish, but the inconsistencies in use of language and in game mechanics definitely suggest a product that has not yet been truly polished.

And... we're in beta. Which covers a multitude of flaws.

  • when you end a sentence with a quote... the period is on the inside of the quotation marks.

    for example, you typed:
and also "[Glitch] kisses you. +10 mood".

    should be

and also "[Glitch] kisses you. +10 mood."

    just letting you know

  • @Mr Dawgg: I believe the OP was actually correct. The period is the mark that indicates the end the sentence. However, the entire sentence is:  For example, it currently says "[Glitch] hugged you! Mood +2" and also "[Glitch] kisses you. +10 mood".  The period is indicating the end of the complete sentence, not the end of the portion within the quotes. If the quote from the game mechanics ends with a period, then it would be appropriate to place the period within the quotes, but otherwise not.

    Also, +200 for grammatical consistency.
