Currants! The final fron.... no... how do you make them? ;)

Ok so we all know that currants arn't majorly needed yet in Glitch, but they are fun to have and I for one like to see them tot up more and more.

So how do you make your big bucks?

What do you class as 'a lot'?

To put this into perspective I have 100k at the moment, but one day I'd like to see that 10x higher and then some xD.

  • very often I re-sell something which is   bought from vendors,  making  shrine powders    gives a good return, and then Icons  is worth toiling up.

  • One time I got a lot of them by mining, but then I found the toy vendor in the mines and spent all my currants on cubimals. Then I started selling food I make to the tool vendor in uh ce.. whatever that place is called, and I've made most of my money doing that. It does require going through ix most days though, because the food that's worth a lot uses a ton of spices.

I just hit 100k last night, but I'm going to look at auctions so I will be way below that soon. I never have enough of something for the stuff I cook, it's always beans or potatoes and other veggies. I plant mostly onions in my garden because it seems to be the most commonly needed veggie.

  • The best way for me to make currants is for me to never ever go to Marylpole Mount again. Everytime I walk past the toy vendor there, it's fatal to my currant balance :/  I got all my rare cubimals from there, and I now can't resist pushing my luck each time I go past .-.

I class 1mil+ as a lot.  Well a lot of willpower to avoid spending it anyway. It's very very easy to make tons of currants, it's just so hard (for me anyway) to stop spending them all on things I don't need but have to have o_o

  • I'm at over a mil.  I'm addicted to squeezing chickens, milking butterflies and mining.  I'm also terribly bored which leads to more squeezing, milking and mining.  I give a LOT of stuff away.....

  • How to make currants:  Play the game.

When I started, I really tried to make as much as I could through mining.  But I soon found that I didn't need a pile of currants.  Now I run around in various areas, depending on my mood, harvesting, mining, digging, squeezing, etc.  All these activities yield lots of currants.

My issue seems to be hoarding.  Since I don't need the currants, I keep the stuff.  I probably have around 400k-500k worth of stuff lying on the ground at my house.

  • 100k is not 'a lot'   That's just a few game days work.

  • 1) RHK. If you're willing to keep up with the feeders, you can generate a mess of currants with minimal time invested in real life. An setup has been posted to the forums earlier. [Note to self - need to Wiki-fy it!!!]

You then have two routes to choose from:

2a) AK7, and harvesting from animals. Groddle Forest & Groddle Meadow both have just under 150 pigs [on public streets], that's 1200+450 (estimated bonus) for 9900c per area just vendoring the raw meat. It's worth 23,430c if you turn it into Sammiches first. Stay away from Awesome Stew -- while great for energy density, it has a pitiful % return for cooking. The benefit to this approach is zero downtime, since your harvesting / Sammiching can be used as an energy fountain while generating currants as well.

2b) Mining in AB / Neva. You don't have the energy fountain, but this gives the most efficient direct conversion of your energy into currants.

There are also market based strategies that will also pay off, but these tend to fluctuate over time as the market shifts around. For example, right now, folks are grinding Rube trades for dolls.

  • I've never even gotten close to 100K but I've never been "strapped" for currants either. I make EHSP to sell in auction, and that keeps me in enough cash to buy ingredients for food and charades potions.

  • I have top in most money making skills now, like mining V, AK7, all alchemy and tinkering V etc.

I guess a good way of making money will be to go harvest everything in sight and making some sammiches, grinding all the rocks I find into the ingredients for EHSP and tools etc, making lots of molybedium xD and repeat.

I should presume after doing this a few times I'll be getting closer to 1million currants. xD

    Thanks, but keep them coming!

Flipping in the auctions is fun also! [Buy low sell high]

  • My goal is 1 million currants but damn if I don't keep buying cubis lol.  X)
RHK is excellent for the meats and milks you generate.  Also all the gardening skills, get a big house, and start growing potatoes and spinach.  Sell at vendors and auction for lots of profit.

Most of my profit comes from mining tho, I have all the mining skills so get lots of gem drops, and I sell them back along with the rocks to the tool vendor in Level 4 East (Ilmenskie).

I like crafting a lot and selling what I craft at auction sometimes but not to generate profit, I just like making things for other people.  I hate all the auction fees so when I'm really looking to turn a profit, I just sell to the tools vendor.

Lately I've been hurting for currants a little since trying to get the rest of the collection of Icons, all the stuff I'd normally sell has been donated.  That can be a currants waster.  =)

  • Heh yes, well I'm lucky in some respects as I don't really donate myself.

If I had a million currants perhaps I'd be a little more careless and at least go for an icon or two.

Still, I'm wanting to become rich in Glitch and get everything there is to get eventually, and when house upgrades come I'll be able to showcase it all hopefully in a bigger house with more storage heh!
