Question for Flash style used in game

Does the  game use Molehill or just plain old bit mapdata?

  • It uses XML which is passed through Jono's renderer. Since the game maxes out 30fps and Molehill maxes out as 60 I would say it would not be using Molehill. It would be nice if it was. :) Jono?

  • yw. Swing over the Graphics Gurus group. Just started it, but it's for Glitch related graphics stuff.

  • Aaaaaactually that's not really a sound reasoning, but it still hits the same truth -- we are bitmapping and blitting. We can run as fast as we like (but most browsers limit you to 60fps, since the human eye really can't detect much faster) -- but 30fps is sufficient and hard enough to achieve in such a visually complex world.

  • Touche', Jono. Best I could do on a rapidly researched reply :)  And the "XML" part is from yourself. :p That would have been my entire answer but I thought leaving it with that might sound a little flippant. Heck, the little animation I've been doing is only 30 fps, and I'm hand crafting that one. And, yes, I can have the computer generate them for me, but I like the fine control especially since I'm using equations that my renderer doesn't know and can't interpolate. What do you use for the animations by the way? And is 2 seconds sufficient in length for a cooking device animation?

Hell, you were replying to this thread at 1:00 AM US PT! Get some sleep, Jono!
