  • I may still have 4 lumps of loam on my house floor. Depends on what the reset does :)

  • Wow...do they sell at that price? I sold four today for 250 each...

  • Pretty sure that's just wishful thinking. And forum spamming.

  • I've been selling loam back to shops for cheap. Doh!

  • Once you finish learning the soil appreciation skills, getting loam isn't too difficult.  Finding empty patches is difficult, but the dirt piles have lessened the need for those, so loam isn't too much of an issue now.

One thing to realize (pardon if you've seen me say this a thousand times already): there's very little use for currants in the game past a certain point, so inflated prices may make you rich, but you'll be rich, lonely, and at a loss for what to do with all that money.  :)  People donate loam to projects, usually for very little reward, or make blocks with it, and then donate those to projects, again for little reward... so there's little to no motivation for anyone to pay exorbitant prices for it.  In fact, people working on projects usually share loam and other resources without charging for it.

  • Is it just me or did it seem like loam was a bit easier to get on this past test?

  • First of all, I don't think the forums were meant to be a place to hock your wares. Are you a scalper in real life? You do know that people will see your auction if they search for "loam" yes?

Second of all, Holy Spriggan, 2500 per lump and only 4 lumps?! I sold 24 lumps at 4000 currants on auction and thought that was pretty reasonable, if not dirt cheap (yes pun intended).

In conclusion, you should be condemned to Squish in Hell for trying to pull this on us!

  • Once a con man, always a Con Man... the game reveals even the seedy side of human nature. We more ethereal and elevated can only giggle at this debase proposition.

  • I don't think he's trying to con anyone, just has a limited perspective of things. I've seen stuff go for nutty prices when there's a big project going on. As for using the forums as an Auction House, it's not too hard to follow the logic behind it (whatever the opinion may be) because the purpose of Groups isn't always obvious.

Posts like these happen from time to time, it's nothing to get upset over. I would say, it happens often enough I'm surprised no one has been able to hit the right balance with a Group in that format.

  • sell for what you want - if someone buys then it was worth the price.  What business sells cheaper because people moan when it is too expensive?

The argument that currants are easy to come by at later levels only applies when you are at that level - perhaps he/she sells that high to pay for bags?  Who knows - who cares - if it is too high for you don't buy - just wait for someone to give them away for free - or somewhere between.

  • k thx accy, tryin to make currants here :)

  • @Djoe6897

    "trying to make currants here"

You can use the Auctions even when the game is closed.  That will give you lots of information about pricing, and will allow you to automatically 'sell' the item and receive the currants.

Even if someone said in a thread that they wanted your items, you'd have to arrange a way for them to pay you, and for you to give them the stuff.  Using the Auction feature is much better.

  • ok thx :) i thought auctions were frozen.... weird

  • Personally, I think there's something to be said for not trying to rook your fellow testers.  You can sell a few lumps of loam for a crazy price, or you can just mine (or harvest peat, or grow crops, or whatever) for a few minutes and sell the proceeds to a vendor.

  • Even though this has gotten edit to "(nvm)", I think it brings up some interesting points.

If "auctions" (which is not an auction at all) doesn't get actual auction abilities, I do hope they had for launch a forum section for "Sales and Trades."

  • Wow. People, relax. He meant 2500 for all four. Loam is a high project demand, and I've seen people buy it for much higher than what he's asking. If you don't want to buy it, don't, but some people will. Just ignore it if you don't agree.

  • +1 Go Cupcake, you took the words right out of my mouth. So many people get all high and mighty. As far as I can see Djoe6897 was not being deceitful or trying to con anyone. Even if he was asking 2500 for each one let alone all four then that's his prerogative. Like Cupcake says no one is making you buy them. Do you all go screaming in shops if you think the price is to high for something???
