Overcrowding in hell was a pain. Might be fine for those with faster connections, but when you've trying to get out with minutes left to the end of the day and there's a conga going on or even just a bunch of dead people standing around, it lags. Hugely.
The other day I left for hell with an hour of game time left before new day. Lagged up so badly that I couldn't get out until new day had started. Starting new day super pooped was most unfun. I had to go do real life stuff! .-.
So my thoughts are "Woo!" and "Yay!"
Or could you send the AFK deaths to a different hell?
I absolutely adored Hell parties. Like, it was one of my favorite things about Glitch. It was a place to worship Trisor and enjoy the music (seriously, my favorite music on the site... please make a musicblock of it!) and have fun.
I totally understand making things run more efficiently, but to take away the joys of Hell?!
I'm actually really upset about this one. Its the first time I've been mad at one of your changes TS. At least raise the cap or let us choose between 3 hells or something. Then those who want to rebirth themselves faster can go to a quieter one and those that want to party down can do that together. Whaddya say? Please? With a cherry on top?
I like the idea of a separate hell that AFK players are sent too. Maybe instead of smashing grapes, there are keyboards fluttering around that they have to chase after. That'll learn em.
Also it'd be nice if there was a big sign that said, "A SPECIAL PLACE." That way people could walk around saying, "there's a special place in hell for players who die while AFK," and once it happens players can experience the, "woah, turns out that was true!"
Or there could be something like different circles of hell (a la Dante's Inferno), depending on what you were doing when you died or how you spent your day...
Throw in a couple of zones in hell and let people travel between them. That way you can have a place for people to meet up for parties or whatever and then still enough space that the occasional visitor doesn't get lagged out.
I like the idea of "a special place in hell" for the AFKers.
Hell parties, while I never was interested in participating, seemed like a harmless bit of fun created by players around game mechanics. Any solution that allows that to continue and solves the crowding problem at the same time would be wonderful from my perspective.
I like Lys' idea. No idea how difficult it would be to code, but it would be awesome and solve a bunch of problems/whinges if everyone who died the same way went to the same hell - so, afk deaths, ordinary deaths and no-no deaths. As I say, it could well be a nightmare to code but if people want parties in hell then no-no powder could get them all there together, and it'd be a recipe for proper fun.
