  • Pure return of three types of herbs and seeds have been 'nerfed.'

Potions have been made much more valuable.

So while just dumping seeds into shrines or vendors is worth less, the demand for making potions may increases. Leading to higher demand for flowers and essences directly to players.

Production based on player demand is a lot more interesting (in my mind) than production based on grinding and dumping.

Posted 86 days ago by Flapmouse Subscriber! | Permalink
  • Then keep making seeds and then use them to make tinctures and potions which are now much more profitable. So it's not all gone. And it was 'nerfed' because it was bugged to begin with.

Still tons of ways to get 'good money' in game. So there are tons of other ways to make currants in game and if you think "not for you" then that's just on you for not trying or learning any other way or trying anything new. Not the fault of TS.

Also... "i'm world has ended I'm so upset I know it supposed to help us but i don't get how new player we can help the garden and what not so why take are money making away" ...What.

  • Why nerf?  Because a lot of people grinding yellow didn't really want to grind yellow but had little choice as it was far and beyond the best return of any game activity.

Why is that good for the game?  This game is designed around making many different activities and styles of play function about equally.  While things can deviate from the average a little bit,  ideally at any given rate of return there will never be a single activity that dwarfs all others, freeing different players to focus on different things based on what they enjoy or whatever else motivates them.

  • Folks, it has already been established that Zoey is a very young player. She will settle down and cope and find ways to enjoy Glitch again soon enough.

  • Get over it, I was potentially the biggest yellow buyer/seller in the game and I don't give a damn about the changes. I'm happy about it, I made too much money off of it. Its all about finding the next big thing. I'd rather not do the same thing forever, especially when its breaking the economy and creating unfair amounts of currency out of thin air. I might have a lot of currants now, but it's worth far less than before because of yellow. Infinite money = infinite inflation = the money you make being worth LESS.

  • Your money is not "all gone", your funds were not "taken away"; nobody has removed a single currant from your inventory.  You are also not dying, nor are you "screwed for life".  If you mostly have fun making money in the game, you'll move on to other ways like everyone else; if herb gardening is the only thing you find fun, it'll still be fun, just less lucrative.

  • Zoey, please. Glitch is not the game for having the MOST currants. It's about having fun and chatting with other friends! Glitch is not ruined because of one nerf. And nerfs are very reasonable. Nerfs are making the game better, and reasonable! Yes, ocasionally, I sold Yellow crumb seeds and flowers every once in awhile, But still!! Making a big deal about this is not right.
I am just trying to help you with you're problems and not trying to get you mad and disappointed. Glitch is an excellent game, and I think we all know that. And no, your heart is not cracked. You are a GREAT friend! :)

  • You dont need money to play the game.  There are lots of ways to make currants if you just have to have some.

If you can gather meat, you can eat.  If you can sell the meat, you can buy EHSP to use when you donate and get extra iMG.  You can mine if you want to make EHSP instead.

You can mine, get iMG, make EHSP and sell it.

If you make a lot of crops, then you can make and sell food.  For a long time that was a very solid way to make a ton of cash.  Many Glitchen swore by it.

As we add new players, they will *have* to eat.  Sell them lots of food.

  • I don't call it 'nerfing.'  I call it 'fine tuning.'  And the devs are getting better at it all the time.  To extend the metaphor, the music Glitch produces keeps getting more pleasant.

  • The mining had became the best profitable activity in the game (at least, for me).Beacuse the people are apparently lazy mixing up compounds, the powders are worth a lot less than the compounds.Make No-no powder, then go to an mining run, then crush the rocks and make 250 Cosmox, you will get on auction at least 20.000 currants (beacuse of the street price).

  • I recently broke 200k currents. I feel unbelievably wealthy. Currents, while nice to have, don't really make or break the game.
While it's probably annoying to have something taken out that you were relying on, you could probably dial back the drama.

  • Some may not realize, but perhaps English is not his first language. This game is played by people other than English speaking ones. Keep that in mind before putting in your 2 cents worth about having proper grammar and punctuation.

  • I'm with Zoisite and Jeasilver... but it's worth pointing out that this game is in Beta and complaints of this type are not contributing to the development of the game. If you're going to express how you feel about a nerf, at least do it constructively (and like, civilized?).

  • Nobody is entitled to free "constructive advice" as a reward for spamming the forum with a whine post. People who generate noise should be mindful that it might echo back at them.

I agree that the spectacle of this whole thread is disappointing; we can behave better. But to be fair to the greater community who have responded in kind, they didn't start the thread. Only one was that self-indulgent.

  • If you're going to write in a language, you have the responsibility of learning basic grammar and punctuation. I'm not sure how anyone can learn English without learning about basic period and comma use.

  • Back to the topic....
I have been TAKING ADVANTAGE of the Yellow Crumb LOOPHOLE for a while now.
I am not at all disappointed that that loophole has been closed and fixed.
There are many ways to make a currant in this game.
I fear only for those new players that need Imagination... did I have to grind so hard to level up when I was a new player?  Did I have to grind so hard to donate for Favor to spend to speed up my skill learning?
    Cheers!

pish, get over yourself. communicating at all in a non-native language is not easy. communication is more important than correctness. if you can't understand what was said because someone missed out a few punctuation marks, then you're probably not as fluent as you think

  • There are plenty of other ways to make currants in this game, many of them a lot more fun and rewarding than listening to a garden quack at you because you are trying to interact with it faster than the server can respond to you. This, and the other recent nerf have reminded me of other fun things I liked doing before I started obsessively farming yellow and playing upgrade cards. I'm glad to be reminded that it's just as fun to stand around Cebarkul naked and wish that the balls in Plexus actually did something other than fly at your head (hahaha).

  • haha, I am wondering what the hell I do now. We need some sort of post-yellowcrumb rehabilitation programme.
Posted 86 days ago by shhexy corin Subscriber! | Permalink
  • What do people use all those currants for anyway? I tend to only spend money tithing icons and the odd bit of grocery shopping. Everything else I gather or make.

  • Ooh, some of us really love the rare items, Anaglyph :)
Posted 86 days ago by diaveborn ♥ Subscriber! | Permalink
  • They added rare items because people had too much money though. Kind of a self-fulfilling prophecy really.
Posted 86 days ago by Anaglyph Subscriber! | Permalink
  • And the rare items taught me how to make a ton of money.... Not sure I'd spend it all if more rare items came on the market, though... it's nice not having to worry about cash.  Mind you, I didn't worry before when I always hovered around the 250k mark

Anaglyph - What having a ton of currants means is that if you want to make a thing and you need lots of an ingredient, you can just go and buy the ingredients. For example,  you might hate scraping barnacles, but there are people who love it, or like the profit they make on them, so they do that work for you and you pay  so that you can build the next floor of your tower without scraping a ton of barnacles.

  • Well, maybe I did get a little carried away in my first post on this thread, but still - while there have been quite a few negative reactions and grumblings about this change (and that's hardly a surprise, after all this *was* a comparatively quick and easy way to make lots of currants), this seems a bit over-the-top to me.

That being said, making a lot of currants through the mindless shucking of countless YC plants just ran contrary to what I believe the Glitch spirit is - admitting, of course, that there is such a thing as the Glitch spirit. It can hardly be called creative, fun, or quirky.

To the OP: cheer up! The world has not ended yet. You won't be making currants at the same speed, but you still will be making currants if that's what your main goal is. And since tinctures and potions are now finally worth the effort, you can earn currants through making them - and you'll also earn iMG and badges and whatnot in the process.

There's a lot more to this game than grinding, so why not see this as an opportunity to go out there and do more stuff?
Posted 86 days ago by Flapmouse Subscriber! | Permalink
  • I am entirely serious about this: If your post describes your actual reaction to this change rather than a momentary outburst of disappointment with some exaggeration, please do consider taking a break from playing and finding something else to do for a bit. This game is probably a bit of escapism and distraction from the so-called "real world" for many of us. That's not a bad thing at all, but there is also a danger of letting it (or any other escape mechanism) become so important that seemingly small and unimportant frustrations it causes suddenly impact our real-life emotional stability. If that happens, it might sometimes be better to step away, and to try to figure out why we actually are that affected and what we can do in "real life" to get better.
