aw sigh well but what kind of hacking? iHaxGamez kind of hacking? macros for mining? ... i guess hackers don't go open source with their hacks because then suddenly everyone would be level 62...
It's not a hack, you jealous fools. I'm 5th overall and I got there in a day.
We're testing the alpha version of a game. If you explore the whole game and try everything possible, as you're supposed to be doing, you'll find that there are glitches and loopholes and ways to exploit them. They're often simple and overlooked.
Hint: There are actions that give huge amounts of xp, but use a ton of energy... there's a way to counteract the energy usage.
To tell you the truth, I think focusing on leveling up is opposed to having fun in the game.
Most of my XP have been earned via the mining-donating cycle (and add crushing, mixing, stirring to make Extremely Hallowed Shrine Powder). Plain, hard work. As my online friends have no doubt noticed, I tend not to be a very social player of the game, in part because I'm usually playing when there are things going on around me IRL that need to be tended to. I can mine away while still having a conversation IRL, and then the mining is not so tedious.
Making butterflies sing is a way to earn a lot of XP quickly, but at the great expense of energy. I also find it way more tedious even than mining, and it requires more attention. It does feel like a glitch that you can do this after you've died, and can die only once per day.
There is also a glitch that I've reported before that you can keep watering your garden all day long if you like. There is no consequence to overwatering your plants, but you get goodies for doing it. The musicboxes are shrineable, so this is another incredibly tedious way to gain XP.
All of those things are tedious.
Working on projects can be more fun (though I still think the dynamics of projects are highly flawed and they still tend to be feeding frenzies and unpleasant on that front). But of course, projects don't lead to much XP.
Probably, the most fun I have in game is when it's the only thing I'm doing and I watch the help channel and try to pitch in there somehow.
Sing to a butterfly and he will be happy, but teach a butterfly to sing and you will have one pissed off butterfly, they're too damned lazy to sing to themselves
using a keyboard macro to keep watering the garden, then collecting the resulting objects and donating them seems like a potential culprit for the 2 million XP gain.
ok yeah - i was able to get about 600k XP during the last test using the watering garden loophole. it was U-N-B-E-L-I-E-V-A-B-L-Y boring but beautifully simple as all i needed was a cheap little house, watering can, and tinkertool, so i'm going to try to do it again for the first day or two after the reset unless the devs somehow fix gardening before next week. thanks clare and company!
The improvements to the Garden this time were nice... I could finally see the whole thing and work with it. There will always be a way for a determined person to climb the ladder, favor and XP come from just about everything.
