Does Mayharvest Cordial Potion takes in account Superharvest?

I´ve noticed that the other potions give you drops proportional to the activity on the plot: 2 or 3 Modestly Sized Rubies, 1 or 2 Musicblocks, 2 or 3 Cell Fuels, etc, but I haven´t seen a "Superharvest" rainbow when I use Mayharvest... I´m geting it or not?

  • You get them, you just don't get a rainbow. For example 19 rubeweed from a 15 plot garden is 2 super harvests.

  • Superharvest might be in there, but it doesn't look like potential bonuses are showing.

Mind you, this is a smallish sample, but I harvested, hoed, reseeded and watered 2 large herb and 2 large garden - zero bonus items.  There might have been a large harvest or two, but no bonus items.

Did the same 4 plots a few hours later - 4 gems, 6 music boxes, a solid stack of loam, and a "super harvest" at least every 3rd.

Luck?  Certainly possible, but that's a heck of a delta.

  • I've found that using the potions is about the same as gardening manually, but that may also be confirmation bias. :)

  • I can confirm that you definitely get superharvests from using the Manyharvest potion. I used the potion to get my 20x restorer badge two weeks ago on a crop garden and got plenty of superharvests, RKs, drops of all kinds incl. gems, musicblocks, fuel cells, drinks, etc.

I had to keep emptying the bonus items into my SDB's as I ran out of room in my bags. The rainbow did not display but it mentioned it in local chat.

Have you got all the upgrade cards re. gardening?

  • Doesn't the local chat mention the extra crops/herbs you get in a Superharvest? Check the local chat log after you finish harvesting.

  • The original poster is asking about drops not super harvest. Super harvest is getting 2 or 3 times the herbs and is noted in local chat. Drops are the other items.

I have all the upgrade cards;  I don't think I got any drops from manyharvest. Though I only used one bottle when it was first introduced, dissatisfied at the results and harvesting is without a delay.

I'm wondering if Cleops got the drops from manyharvest too or just from the seed one, liquid hoe, and soak all.

  • I get drops from Manyharvest.

  • I get far diminished drops from all of these potions. I *always* get more when I do them by hand but it's so tedious that I'll accept the reduction in drops for the convenience of using the potions.

  • @Eleanor-- elsewhere, staff has mentioned that the master gardener potions give more of the "better" drops (gems, high-end MBs, 26 pieces of loam etc) and less of the "worse" drops (low-end sno-cones, 3 pieces of loam, etc).

My personal hobby horse in this debate is that I don't think the MG potions respect rubeweed. And they don't wear down my hoe or irrigator, although I don't much care about that either way.

Oh yeah, and I get drops from Manyharvest. Bought some just to test this.

  • I like it when a potion gives me 3 diamonds or moonstones

  • Funny enough, I have yet to get *any* drops from manyharvest- and I have had drops almost every time with soak-all and liquid hoe potions...just nothing at all with manyharvest.

  • @SchWM -- not my experience at all, although that may be what they intended. While I do get the occasional ruby when using a master gardener potion, most of what I'll get (when I get anything at all) is gameshow tickets. And often, nothing at all, after a full suite of manyharvest, liquid hoe, soak-all, and seed dibber. YMMV.

(ETA: I'm wondering if a mathematician who's familiar with probabilities might be available to consult on the algorithm used to award drops via potions, and compare it to the result of 15 individual actions. Or maybe TS wasn't looking for it to be similar; maybe the convenience factor is meant to overshadow the drops benefit.)

  • All the drops I got from Manyharvest were mostly  musicblocks, gems, and a few drinks here and there.

Gems were every 2nd to 3rd manyharvest or so. I wound up with 5-7 rubies after 17 replants (which is how much it takes to break a small crop garden), but occasionally 2-4 whalloping diamonds instead. More musicblocks than anything. It filled one 1/2 bigger bag of stacked musicblocks per 17 replants.

I didn't use soak all or seed dibber as I needed the planting badge as well and the patches only needed watering once every 17 times and so I did it manually. I used Manyharvest & Liquid Hoe only but only got RK's and 4 fuel cells from the latter.

  • Seeds planted with Seed Dibber don't count for planting badges??? Where was this stated?

  • The week before doing the restore badge I  extensively asked around incl. staff on live help and people on global and there was no definitive answer re. the seed dibber and I wasn't willing to risk it. As it was only 4 plots it didn't really take that long to manually plant. I got the badge in the end. It would be good to have an official answer from staff or if someone can confirm they got their crop or herb planting badges using the potions it would be helpful.

It's sort of like - does the camera count towards TP's. I would say no but until we have an official answer...

  • @Cleops - we do have one on the camera as teleport issue - per staff, they do not count: www.glitch.com/forum/genera...
