  • 24 awesome stews, three walloping diamonds (for $$$), three gurly drinks, 24 creamy martinis, a note explaining some things (given they didn't have a greeter) and a pick.

  • My PayItForward bag contains:

1 stack each grain, meat, milk
    1 stack +mood drink
    1 seed and 2 guano
    1 knife and board
    1 music block
    1 amber

The last slot contains either a Random Kindness rainbow or a Game Show ticket.

    PS
In-game, I welcome all donations of bags, tickets and rainbows.  Or I'll help you fill your newbie bag.

  • I'm with FF. I think part of the fun is figuring things out and building your inventory.

  • a pick, orb, fruit changer, shovel, grill, saucepan, pot, bubble maker, smelter, blender, 6 walloping diamonds to help buy a house.

  • A bag with some seeds, a watering can and a hoe, some honey and lots of sammiches.

It's nice to figure out things for yourself.. but it gives a sense of community when you walk in and someone's like, "Here, this is to help you!" without expecting anything in return. It's like being welcomed into a large family.

    I like family.

  • The watering can and hoe are already part of the "Entering The Game" sequence.  Early on, they should still have them.

  • I think figuring stuff out yourself is a key part. I'd say, just a bag of food to help keep you going through those early levels. Perhaps a game show ticket too, just for fun.

  • sidenote: how much energy do u have at the beginning of the game?

  • I'd rather give them a couple of big bags and maybe a couple of emblems. Everything else is just fun to find for yourself really. I'm not sure about the emblems. I know my first ones took me a while to get so I'd probably have appreciated being gifted some.
When I was a newbie, I kept on seeing people had dumped emblems in front of shrines, but I never wanted to pick them up in case someone was coming back for them. Looking back on it, I probably should have just yoinked them, as numerous times I'd see the next person walk past and the emblem vanish, I'm fairly sure most of them were just freebies.

  • @goodstory - a level 1 player has a max of 100 energy. there is a good chart on this in the wiki.

  • When my brother started I gave him a bag. It just had some meat and some food. I also put some butterfly lotion in there too. Not too much, just a little bonus.
I agree with Dopiaza, figuring things out for yourself is important. But a note saying "You get Salt by grinding Allspice" would be helpful.

  • I'd also give a bag, maybe a stack of meat, and a few mysterious notes that don't give too much away but hopefully fan the noob's curiosity.

  • @TheCatFace

Thank you!  I even asked in the wiki group and no one could point me to that.

  • @WindBorn good to know - I'll add some other tags to make it a bit easier to find

  • As a newbie I was giving several awesome stew by one FS friend and an 80 pack of milk from another.  I did not use these up right away but kept them as emergency supplies.  I went ahead like I didn't have them as much as possible, but they were really helpful a number of times while I was getting on my feet.

The other thing I was given early-on was a house tour, during which I was invited to pet/harvest all the trees and piggies.  That was a huge help as well, plus I got an idea of what a house was for and how it could be helpful.

These were all really a great help and I appreciate the friends who provided them.

  • I might just include a small bag with fun but nonessential things... random kindness, a couple gameshow tickets, a couple race tickets. I agree that part of the fun is building your own empire from the ground up, lol.

I might also include a note with some good info, or maybe just link to Siha's profile:
    www.glitch-strategy.com/wik...
Cause there's so much good info linked there... including info about salt and papers... hey I never noticed the wordplay there heehee

  • A bag with 10 notes inside. The laat note would be the most important: www.glitch-strategy.com. the others would be little tips, like, before doing quest (wtf it was called), check that there is a skill that can use 997+ points of favor. Others would be trifling maxims, like, don't take the Glitch grind too seriously; it's not a very competitive game. Balance with tips like, don't be afraid to auction! With a link to a price guide -- even at low level, a hallowed shrine powder can save you lots of monies.

  • Well I don't know that I would give anything, I received nothing and just played and learned.
The experience was good, I didn't go to hell and made my way just fine, and really learned alot on my own. The first house I bought was a tree house and now I have a 30K home that
I just love. But I have to agree with the few who said they woundn't give much at all, It creates
a sense of confidence and it also made me begin to socialize early on if not anything but to ask some questions. It was a good experience and I didn't feel that there was anything that
I couldn't work towards myself. Now on the other hand, since I do have a nicer house and currents to spare I have many times over given noobies stuff, food, drinks, music blocks,
etc. and there appreciation was quite overwhelming in most cases. But all in all I don't think it is too hard to work on leveling up and gaining things you need without having to be given things. I hope I don't sound stingy because it's not that at all, it was just fun and you have to
accomplish those early stage things to make the later on things more meaningful. IMO.

  • My bag would have three items: a TP script to my place (so they can come over), a game show ticket (so they can have a bit of random fun), and a random kindness (to encourage them to make new friends).

  • I'm thinking I do a couple stacks of low energy food (meat, messy fryup, plum, etc).
A stack of beer. An orb. Couple game show tickets.

    And 3 more wishes :)

After they play for awhile I kinda like to do a toolbox full of tooly goodness :)
