How about some sort of storage space for homes that ignores stacking limits.

Let’s be honest, cabinets, even bags in cabinets, are woefully insufficient for storing the materials needed for anything except the most casual crafting.  And piles of raw meat, vegetables, and dairy all over the floor is less than appealing… It would be nice to have something similar to the existing cabinets but without the item stacking limits.

  • I was just thinking about this today. Considering that we can store an unlimited amount of items on the floor of our house I don't even use my storage cabinet. However, if I could store 4000+ meat in a single slot of the cabinent then it would definitely be more useful to me. I mean it isn't portable, so why impose a stack limit?

  • You can put full bags in your cabinet slots.

  • Better still if, while it was open, the cabinet acted like an extension of your inventory.  No more dragging bags back and forth to get/store supplies for making things.

  • @ mirth - Yes, you can put full bags in your cabinet... you are still constrained by stack limits. 16 slots in a big bag X item stack limit.  Yes, it is better volume than putting items directly into the cabinet, but it still fails to compare to the number of items I can have in a neat little pile on the floor.  In fact, one of the reasons I started piling things on the floor was because I could no longer fit them into bags...  With a 32 slot cabinet full of bags I have 512 slots.  It sounds like a lot until you stocking up on resources.  And there is the frustration of not being able to see what is in those bags while they are in the cabinet...

Maybe cabinets without stack limits could be added as a house upgrade item...

  • Not to mention the fact you can't interact with bags in your cabinet (or on the floor for that matter), so assuming you have a full inventory, you have to first make space in your inventory, then drag the bag to your inventory, and only then can you interact with it.  Pretty cumbersome.  This thread highlights a much bigger issue than stacking limits: the inventory system and how we interact with it needs some work.

  • I like the idea of higher stacking limits with the cabinets and "Better still if, while it was open, the cabinet acted like an extension of your inventory.  No more dragging bags back and forth to get/store supplies for making things"

I am in the same boat... full cabinet and now the floor is catching it all... makes it quite messy! And I have the 50k house! Some person on another thread told me I should either start donating or selling some stuff! Sadly I use most of what I have in storage and like to keep a supply on hand in case I need it quick.
