What determines the Giant's symbol on a gravestone?

...?  Is it just random or is there a way to make sure one Giant's symbol always shows up on my gravestones?

  • I've never paid much attention to notice! Maybe it's whichever giant the deceased has the most favor with?
Posted 13 months ago by HeyHeyHolly Subscriber! | Permalink
  • ^_^  Thanks for the reply!  I was thinking it might be something like that but, how do we check our amount of favour with all the giants, do we just have to go to every single shrine...?  -_-  I hope not....

  • Check the leaderboards :) They have your total lifetime favor with each giant.

  • I've heard that rumor before, but I ran into someone whilst firefly hunting, and we ended up chasing the no-no road to hell afterward to find a lost piggy.

The resulting headstones were not correct for it to be the Giant you have the most favor with. Mine should've been Zille, but it was Grendaline.

We also guessed maybe it was the last Giant you'd donated to, but that would not have been correct for me either- as at the time I think it would've been Zille or Mab I'd last donated to.

Thus, I believe it must be random.

  • I don't think it's based on lifetime favor.  I think it's based on current favor.

Also there's a fair chance I'm totally wrong about that.

I keep a little notepad.exe open in the background to keep tabs on my current favor.  It would be nice if Penpersonship or Bureaucratic Arts allowed you to keep a little scratchpad within the game.
Posted 13 months ago by Biff Beefbat Subscriber! | Permalink
  • Grendaline would not likely have been correct for me in that instance either, but it is closer to possible, I suppose. Hmm... May have to test that...

ETA: I do like the idea of those allowing you to keep ledgers and such.. maybe even make a cookbook of your favorite recipes etc.

When I was keeping track of my music blocks, I just wrote a list on an IG note. I suppose I could do the same with favor.

  • Thanks everyone!

So where do I find current favour, is *that* just going from shrine to shrine or...?

Edit- I like the idea of ledgers or diaries in game too.  ^_^

  • Yep, shrine to shrine is the only way I can think of to find out your current favor.

  • Related, and probably silly of me not knowing it: What does SiH mean? Squishes in Hell?
Posted 13 months ago by Ximenez Subscriber! | Permalink
  • It is based on the primary giant of the skill the person was learning when they deceased. I believe once you have learned all skills, it is then based on the giant whose shrine you last interacted with.
Posted 13 months ago by Zu Subscriber! | Permalink
  • Zu: I was not learning a skill that was related to Grendaline in any way (she was not even a secondary Giant), so that could not be right. I was learning Teleportation 4, I believe, which is Lem. I was donating to Zille a lot because I was trying to get an Icon of Zille and I was donating to Lem, Alph and Cosma to reduce my learning times (not Mab as I first mentioned- I meant Lem).

I was wholly unaffiliated with Grendaline at the time, except if she might have been the one with the most accrued, current favor because I was not spending it.

  • Here's the thing, though. Before I stopped having a gravestone when I died, Cosma's was the one that had appeared on my gravestone ever since I hit the level cap and stopped donating for favor. However, my unspent favor with Cosma has never been higher than Tii over this entire time since I stopped donating so if the symbol is somehow based on unspent favor, it is not just the giant with most unspent favor.
