Just To Say - An Open Letter

Dear community,

You guys are the best. Seriously. Let me explain.

I had a bad morning. The constant companion I had growing up was, sadly, put down. Old age finally got the better of him, and my mother let me know over the phone. So I thought, well. No moping around, let's play some Glitch.
I log in after a busy few days - and a pig has died. WELL, I think, DOESN'T THIS JUST TAKE THE BISCUIT. So, as you do when you are just fed up, I vented in global.

That's where you guys came in.

Even in 'real' life, I have never seen such an outpouring of love and good wishes. Every single one of you made me feel so much better. Of course, the one thing I never ever expected was for a certain member of staff to inundate me with love (and animals), on the promise that I didn't cry. (SPOILERS, TOTALLY WORKED. I'm actually smiling!)

All of this, of course, just goes to prove what everyone here already knows. This community is truly one of the most selfless and kind gaming environments ever, and it makes me strive to be a better gamer myself.

So, again, thank you everyone <3 <3 <3

  • Oh, man. If I hadn't been at work, I would've totally raised and released some butterflies in your late furry friend's honour.

I'm sorry for your loss. I'll tell my guinea pig to sing a dirge. He's, like, the smartest guinea pig, so I think he can manage it.

No, Egon. Please don't tip your food dish over.

See, he does this because he wants nothing but carrots. True story. But Timothy hay pellets are so much healthier. Carrots are only a sometimes food.

Okay, Egon. You can do this. Be nice. This is part of that whole "giving back" thing we were talking about. Okay, good. Let's go. ...OH, DAMMIT NO THAT WAS TOTALLY UNCALLED FOR WHY DO YOU KEEP TIPPING THIS THING EVERYWHERE I JUST FILLED IT!

Well, Egon sends his condolences. We'll work on the rest.

  • Ah Ez, that is always so hard and so sad and I send you my love and good wishes. But it sounds like your friend had a good long run, and wore out rather than was cut short, and even tho it is not as long as we would like, it is a good thing. You will always have a little furry (or scaley?) creature looking out for you.

    Hugs

  • As for me I have 3 Degus at the moment, had more. Some of them passed away, they give so much love, and good memories, and pain, if they go. But they are with us, in our memories :)

Great Story Hyaena :P I guess the I can share a story too. I had a female Degu, she was a little bit of healthier in weight then the others, we got her from a pet store, so i guess, she only tried to survive to eat as much as she can, so she was a bit wild Xena at the start, but after a few week she began to prove that she isn't so mean and bite after all, and in the end of the month, she was like a little cat:P She slept on our shoulders, even on the shelves, covered with a fold of cloth. She liked the warmth of our hands, and the food she got, most of the time the treats were walnuts, and sunflower seeds. It was a really nice five years, of our lives and I hope, a really enjoyable five years of hers. Her name was Bony :P She had a boy friend too, his name was Clyde. So to end it short, as far as we keep them in our memories, they stay with us. :)

  • Thanks for posting that ezrakin.  I too have wanted to post something to explain what a difference Glitch has made to me, but was not sure people would want to know.  I will at some point put my story out there, once I can tear myself away from the shiny.

  • I lost my best bud with four legs a year ago.  It's taken me a long time to get over it and I still have my moments.  You hang in there and know you're being looked after and over by your buddy!

  • I am so glad that you had Glitch to turn to and that you had such a wonderful, loving community to respond to you.  I hope that you are feeling much better now (sounds like it).
