What practices do you follow to attempt to achieve Longevity?

I am hoping to match my Cousin Eliza Coleman and live to be 107.    In order to do this I try -    not always successfully -        to eat right, get moderate exercise and have one drink a day of an alchoholic beverage. This is something my granny always touted when she approached  the mahogany side bar in Louisville Ky circa 1950 and had one shot of Kentucky bourbon.....her doctor had advised this....
I also have animals - livestock - two horses... This gives me an excuse to have to walk to the barn each day...to be fit..in order to buck hay and most important....... Did I do this...?          DId I  feed the horses?      If I am forgetful they could die....We play this game of Glitch because it is so totally excellent for our mind's continued good health... A neuron is a terrible thing to lose......

  • I don't really follow anything in particular with a goal for longevity.
I mean I do the obvious things, like looking both ways before crossing the road, not sticking toasters in the bathtub, and I avoid jabbing knives into electrical sockets. But I tend to focus more on enjoying the present than thinking about the future.
If genetics are any kind of factor in my longevity, I'm likely to live to at least my mid 90's. So I'll probably be around to irritate people for quite some time yet :)
If I do end up going early, then at least I've enjoyed what I've been able to do so far, and that seems more of a priority to me.  Luckily I get a lot of pleasure out of many things in life and I'm not too hard to please, so even a day playing Glitch and doing nothing else in particular is a day well spent in my books :)
I may never do anything that will change the world, but all in all the world's a pretty good place as it is, so maybe not trying to change the world is a job well done.

  • My strategy to long life is not dying.

Things have been going well so far. I hope to keep it up.
