Player "Titles"

How about if the game would give "titles" to players who earn achievements. Then players would be able to put one of this titles under their name.

For example, when a player manages to cook an X number of recipes using the Awesome Pot, he'll get the Awesome Chef title.

Any takers?

This sounds like a good idea to me.

  • Meh. It sounds a touch 'stars upon thars' to me (c/f Dr. Seuss, Sneeches), UNLESS it become an element of a player-based economic system, where you know certain items can only be made by a player with the Awesome Chef title, or the title helps govern maximum prices.

  • It can work that way. Say if a player attaches a title to his/her name, he/she will get some kind of benefit.

And a player can only change their titles once every game day.

  • I could see it working either way.

Add "Awesome Chef ________" as your title and you get a certain benefit.

Or just give the achievement only to people that have hit a certain extreme plateau when it comes to a certain skill and then it will be easy to recognize who to approach when you need an item crafted.

I like the latter idea better. Titles used to improve a player-made-economy are good, titles used just for a stat benefit seems weak and not needed.

  • @Maestro Mateo: Actually, that could work in that regard as well. It might just help the economy.
