Do you know if the price changes from place to place, because I have not found a better price for my Cubimal than 3500. Same goes for every other tool, food etc. also of course, but i want my full 5000 =P
Pricing at auctions can be tricky. There are auction fees, which run to about 10% of the value of the object.
For most things (like cubimal boxes) there is no reason for most people to purchase from an auction at 5000 when they could purchase at a vendor at the same price.
For certain things that cannot be purchased directly from vendors (food, powders, herbs, etc.) the price is just a matter of supply and demand.
Nope havent tried thing auction with the cubimal, but cant see why anybody would want to buy it for 5000 =P
The thing is that I got it from Rube, so guessed I would get full price, if not it pointless to even set the estimate that high. + this is a game and not a carsale irl :P
The item worth will always show you the price a vendor would charge. There are other things in the game that are based on that number, so it has to show that one. And since not all vendors pay the same amount (some actually go as low as 50%) they can't show you a vendor sale price. If the vendors paid you the same as what they sell it for, how would they ever make a profit?
It's not an estimate. It's the retail price (for lack of better term). For example, when I sell things in my online store, I say that the price is (for example) $100. Now, if someone wanted to sell that same item to me, I would not buy it for $100, because that would not be any profit to me, the sales person.
It's not "pointless" to have it set that high, because the worth of a Cubimal is 5000. But it's silly to expect the vendors to purchase it back at the price they sold it at.
And I'm very aware this isn't a car sale in real life- I was giving an example.
There has to be a currant sink somewhere, or else currants would slowly become worthless. Game economics mimic real life, even if Helga the liquor vendor isn't saving up for a new margarita machine.....
It's also a different story once you've opened the cubimal box. At that point you can't sell it to a vendor or auction it, but if it's one of the rarer cubimals you might find a player willing to pay more for it. However if it's one of the common ones (and it most likely is, that being what common means) then you're out a few thousand currants.
Shrines "pay" you the XP-/favor-equivalent for 5000, i think. They don't reduce the value.
(That is - what was that new cap for shrine donation? Can I donate something that is worth 5000 to a shrine in one day?)
