Now What?

Ok, I'm at level 20,  I have the $50k house, grow almost all my own cooking ingredients, have a pen full of piggies and chickens,  and have a steady income stream.

What do I do now?

  • Save up as much crap as you can for when new street projects open up... if there was ever anything that could drain your supplies super fast in this game, those are it.

Keep an eye on this group for current street projects (none at the moment). Here is a wiki article with more information.

  • There are other areas of Ur to explore. I plan to move to different terrains from time to time. And I am inching toward learning Piety, and hope that means I can finally confront the Raven.

  • you could always make friends  :)

...but, truly, you have quite a ways to go on the skills and achievements lists

  • Stand behind a tree, you know those ones in the foreground of a street, so that no one can see your Glitch.  When someone runs by, say BOO!, and it will look like the tree is talking.  Keep saying Boo! or something like that to capture their attention.  Make them stop walking past you.

If you get someone to stop and talk to you, you get a point.  If you can get them to come behind the tree with you...that's two points.

Repeat as needed until you are smiling...

  • If you're looking for an "end game", you're playing the wrong game.  Do something nice and give your stuff away, then just go play something else.

  • I've started giving sleeping players a note letting them know that I noticed and asking them to send it back to me. When they send it back, I friend them and send them a small gift.

  • Well, no, Joojoo, beg to differ!  It sounds like Alec Berg has reached the boredom/shenanigans stage.  There is still plenty left to do but it's the To-Do list stuff on the Achievements page, probably some skills left to learn...or explore the made up games that Glitch has to offer.

But if he doesn't want to do either of those, he's sort of stuck waiting for what a lot of others are waiting for--the deeper backstory, the Rook conflict..the next level.

    You seem nice.

    Will you be my friend?

  • It's a legitimate question.  Is the point of the game just to amass nice stuff?  If there were cars in the game, would we all be striving to get BMWs?    So far, the ultimate game goals seem to mirror modern bourgeois values, albeit through a somewhat warped lens.

  • Impatient players ruin a lot of games.  The mad dash to "beat the game" is quickly followed by "feed me more content or I will explooooode!"  Glitch is refreshing in that there is no "end".  It's a social game.  You interact with others.  There's really no point to anything you do.  You do it for entertainment and to *gasp* interact with others.  Coming to Glitch with the stereotypical mentality of "what's next? where's the end game?" will thankfully leave you very disappointed.  If that's what you look for in a game, Glitch is not for you, and it's obviously best to move on before you reach that level of disappointment.  Now, if you want to be offended by that and make snark replies in your own thread, that's your right, but it doesn't change any of what I said.  You will be disappointed.

  • @WalruZ, I thought the trailer did a pretty good job of explaining what this game was about.  Did you bother to watch it before signing up?

  • For myself, I've started to really look outward towards trying to build some sort of interesting community here.  Parties are fun, for sure, but I'm looking more towards being part of a group of Glitchen who work together.  Yes, the communal goal winds up being "more currants, more favor, more XP" but what I *want* is the community, with the shared goals.

  • For me, even though i'm a terrible organiser, bringing up ideas and trying to get other glitches in on them is a passion. My games club for example (http://www.glitch.com/groups/RNVP2UJU6ID2SE4/) is growing and growing :D
And what makes me proud is I made it, not a developer. We can be the creators!
