Lots of recipes call for honey, but there's no way to get it in-game. It would be cool if you could buy beehives, which would produce honey if they're placed near gardens or trees. Once a day or so you could raid them for honey.
There have been many, many threads for Bees, Beehives, or other ways to get honey. I for one would love to be a Beekeeper. Or, wrestle bears in trees for honey pots.
I love that current harvestables are so unexpected - butter from butterflies and grain from chicken and such. The ability to gather honey is a good one but I would be curious whether people had more out-there ideas for how it could be produced. But maybe I should have checked out that other thread Lelu linked to also... :)
+1 to katlazam's point about unexpected harvestables. Maybe sap oozing from wood trees treated with a special something or other? I kinda like the idea that honey could come from a plant. Maybe a growth of honeysuckle (pics) or honeybush (pics)? Then again, that might be considered predictable :P
I remember people suggesting that we be able to grow olives/olive oil on bushes too, so perhaps we could get the option of raising olive oil and honey bushes in our backyard's dirt patches instead of trees. Another reason to buy a house? :)
grow honeysuckle flowers (herbs) and you suckle the honey out of the flower to harvest the honey. the honeysuckle flower could also be eaten to attract butterflies to the user for easier massage/milk/sing harvests.
@Fokian Fool. I posted in the wrong post because it said beehive yourself! So I assumed it was hair, but it was not.. so I posted anyway perhaps because I think I am funny. Here is the hair idea post from Purple Logic.
You know though, this HONEY idea is a good one considering that to make one little butterfly you need 10 honey, and there are drinks that need honey, so how about it, can we get some beehives to raid for honey?
While I'd really like a series of bee-related badges ("A-Plus Bee-Keeper, See?," "Bees On Elastic," "Covered In Bees," , I also really like the Honeydew idea. I think it really goes along with the other awesome weirdnesses of the game. =D
