the best neighborhood for buying a house?

Hi all,

As a fresh and excited glitchie, also tired of carrying all the stuff on my back I have decided i need a home. So i've been searching around for houses, can't seem to find any of those on market.

What is the best neighborhood I should be waiting for a free space?

Anybody planning to sell their house for an upgrade, would you please let me know?

That would be all.. Highly appreciate calm replies..

  • Do you want to grow eggplant trees? Or do you want to grow any other kind of tree?
Do you want spice trees and gas trees in your neighborhood? Or do you want fruit trees and bubble trees?
Do you want to grow herbs? or do you want to grow garden crops?
Do you want barnacles and jellisacs in your house?
Do you want peat bogs or dirt piles in your neighborhood?
Do you want a neighborhood with lots of mineable rocks on the streets?
Do you prefer a darker atmosphere? A foggy and serene atmosphere? A brightly colored neighborhood? A flat savannah?  Mountains?

What size house do you want?
Do you want to live near a subway?
Do you want to climb up or down to get to your house?
Do you want everything on one level inside your house? Or do you want to climb up and down inside your house?
How many animals do you want to keep?
Do you need an animal pen or do you not care?

Do you have in-game friends?  Do you want your house to be like theirs? Near theirs?
Or do you want something entirely different so you can swap keys and each of you have access to the other kind of house?

There is no "best neighborhood".  The "best neighborhood" for you may have open housing right now.

  • If you're not sure what you want yet, there's no harm in getting a starter apartment.

  • +1 Windborn, definitly a good list of things to consider before purchasing a house. If you are just looking for something small, I might suggest a treehouse. They come with a few patches that can grow any tree but an egg plant, a decent number of crop plots, and you could keep a few pigs without it getting crowded. They are relatively cheap as well, I used mine right up until I  bought my 50k house in Andra

  • In beta, I started with a tree house and moved to a large modern house.
This time around, I started with a small apartment and moved to a tree house.

Awash in currants, I have no desire to move to a large modern home again.

  • I have always loved the cottages. After that the tree houses are nice.

  • Maybe just a link to the realty page would help you.

From there, click any of the other neighborhoods (on left, in blue) showing available housing.

  • My only complaint about my house is the distance from the subway.

It's a treehouse in Muufa, but on the ground next to the signpost, so it's convenient to enter.  Three trees, some crop plots and you can keep a few piggies, chickens and butterflies happy if you have a fruit tree or a bean tree.

  • From a social point of view, Toisi Trappings is wonderful and friendly. Lived in two houses on the 5500 block. Would often run into several neighbours at the shrine on the street when passing and we'd have a little neighbourhood conference.

Don't see much of the neighbours at Shak Shales...
